As temperatures dropped to at or near freezing in southeast
Texas this morning, it's leading many to ask the question again,
is the grid ready? Erkan and Center Points say that
they are ready this time, pointing to witterization upgrades and
strong supply planning. Ahead of today's first freeze warning of
the season. Center Point issued a statement saying that it
would proactively inspect critical equipment and have crews at the

ready to respect onto any outages as needed. After a
person of interest was taken into custody for the mass
shooting at Brown University on Saturday, state and local officials
announcing Sunday night they released that person of interest from custody.
Providence Police Chief Colonel Oscar Perez explaining what led to
that person's release.

We did ourctoral investigation examin ended up drafting some search forms,
came up with some evidence, but those of di evidence
was examined and we didn't have enough obviously to be
able to prosecute anybody, and.

So the person was released.

The shooting left at least to two people dead, nine
others injured. Any remaining classes and final exams for the
semester have been canceled. Police have named two men who
shot dead fifteen people at a Jewish events at an
iconic Australian beach.

Father and son, Sajid and Navied Akram, targeted Jews marking
Hanukkah on Sydney's Bondai Beach. Among their victims a ten
year old girl and a survivor of the Holocaust. People
have gathered to mourn and lay flowers.

House Republicans have rolled out a new healthcare bill that
they hope to bring to the floor this week. The
proposal includes cost sharing reductions and pharmacy benefit reforms, but
leaves out an extension of Enhanced Oboma Care subsidies and
set to it spire in just a few weeks. Party
leaders say that the door remains open for a possible
amendment on subsidies, with the House Speaker calling the bill

had a mass shooting in Australia. We had the brown
University shooting where the killer is still at large. We
had I don't consider this part of that, but also

just kind of going in with the bizarre weekend brought.
Do you hear about this Rob Reiner and his wife
killed and the LAPD's being very very quiet about it
for some reason. I believe their son is the suspect.
So I will get to all those stories in the moment.
First though, for those of us who have of dog dependence,

I have one dog dependent, now have four cat dependents.
They all rely on me, and they rely on me
to be fed, to be housed, be cared for, to
go to the fet, have the doctor bills cared for.
This is interesting to me. On one hand, it seems
kind of silly about On the other hand, it maybe

makes sense. Might be curious to see what you think
about this. We have a lawyer suing the Internal Revenue
Service demanding that pets count as legal dependence just like
human children for the purpose of tax relief. Bets count
as a legal human family. You know, we can't count
them as human, but should we be able to count

them as a family member. Ninety seven percent of American
pet owners say they consider the pets to be part
of their family, and those pets are dependent on us
for food, shelter, medical care, training, transportation, and daily living.
An says her eight year old Golden retriever has no
independent income, resides exclusively with her and as annual expenses

exceeding five thousand dollars, which satisfies the irs intent of dependency,
with the exception of the fact that the dog is
non human. Currently, pets are considered property by the Internal
Revenue Service. Is your pet a piece of property or
part of your family? You would have to change the

designation in order for that to work. Now, from a
practical standpoint, how many more people would be willing to
provide a loving home to a stray dog or cat
if they could write off the expenses on their taxes.
If you could count your pet as a dependent and

write it off on your taxes, would you be more
inclined to adopt because part of the at least part
of the cost of having that pet would be Dif

arrested a person of, interest but they let that person
of interest, go so evidently they don't have the person

early this morning by THE fbi at A Hampton inn
