Speaker 4 (01:42):
Good morning everyone. It's five oh one on k t
r HR. Top story. I'm not in love with the
paper running Venezuela.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
That was President Trump who last night ordered a total
blockade of oil tankers entering or leaving Venezuela, declaring that
the Maduro regime is a foreign to terrorist organization. Now
this comes as members of Congress where briefed by administration
officials about the drug boat strikes. Louisiana Senator John Kennedy

(02:10):
told Fox he was satisfied with what he heard.

Speaker 6 (02:13):
The intelligence on which they are based is exquisitely good.
There are checks and balances at every stage.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
The Trump administration will not release video of the September
two double tap strike, something the left is still worked
up about. The President will address the country tonight, ask
for what we can expect.

Speaker 7 (02:35):
President Trump will be talking about what's to come. The
best is truly yet to come, as he often says,
and so he'll be addressing the country about all of
his historic accomplishments over the past year, and maybe teasing
some policy that will be coming in the new year
as well.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
At White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt. We will have
the speech right here on KTRH starting at eight o'clock.
It's five oh three. The manhunt continues for the person
of interest in the deadly Brown University shooting. Police releasing
new images In video. Former FBI special agent Nicole Parker
says the university needs to answer for its lack of surveillance.

Speaker 8 (03:13):
Every single image that we have seen came from the neighborhood.
Those came from bring doorbell cameras, not one image that
we've seen came from inside the building inside the campus.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
Two people were killed, nine others injured. Meantime, continued outrage
over the Bandai Beach terror attack in Australia.

Speaker 9 (03:30):
This is their objective. There's evidence that this father son
duo of murderers were affiliated with ISIS, were doing so
waging jihad.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
Texas Senator Ted Cruz with k t HS Sean Hannity
police were covered, firearms, IEDs, and a couple of homemade
ISIS flags. The terrorists that survived charged with fifteen counts
of murder. Here at home, The FBI thwarts a potential
New Year's Eve terror attack, but concerns remain about what
hasn't been stopped as if yet. Thankfully, the average American

(04:03):
should be perfectly safe when they head out to celebrate.

Speaker 10 (04:05):
You had more of a chance to die in a
car accident than you do in a terror attack. But
that's why they use the holiday period, because it's very
effective to cause fear.

Speaker 11 (04:13):
Jeff Otticott with the Warrior Defense Project says, you should
still be sure to keep your eyes and ears open.

Speaker 10 (04:18):
The greatest thing you can do is see something, say something.
Many terror attacks were broken up because common citizens saw
something unusual and called authorities.

Speaker 11 (04:26):
He added that the Trump administration has so far done
a good job of detecting and stopping terror attacks. Ethan
Buchanan News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
And following the attack that killed two US soldiers, President
Trump is ban Syrian nationals from entering the US area,
one of five countries on the now expanded list. That's
not enough for some members of Congress. They're pushing for retaliation.

Speaker 12 (04:49):
In terms of retaliation, you know, the President, I'm sure
will be clarifying what that means in the coming days,
but obviously, you know, anytime any of our servicemen and
women are attacked, there has to be a response.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
Pennsylvania Republican Brian Fitzpatrick on Fox Well, it's not just TikTok.
The alliance between big tech and communists China is growing
across many platforms. Facebook's parent reported more than eighteen billion
dollars in ad revenue from China last year. China expert
doctor Antonio Grisef says, and Congress needs to get involved.

Speaker 13 (05:22):
We really need to ban the money altogether. I mean,
I don't think you can police it, because you really
can't separate individual companies from the Chinese Communist Party. And
there's these Chinese scam centers all over the country, and
this is becoming the new model that you earn a
higher profit margin by scamming.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
Meta uncovered more than three billion dollars in Chinese scam
ads last year, even though Facebook is banned in that country.
Five h five ICE denies a claim made by the
Squad's Ilhan Omar that her son was pulled over by
the FEDS. Acting ICE Director Todd Lyon says there is
zero record that is a quote of that happening. Lawmakers
are blasting Minnesota Governor Tim for the Somali COVID fraud scheme.

(06:02):
He's trying to cover his butt with a new fraud
prevention program.

Speaker 14 (06:06):
Even though he knew about the fraud years ago.

Speaker 15 (06:09):
He's kind of late to the party because this was
all done for years under his watch. It's way too little,
way too late.

Speaker 16 (06:16):
That's Alex Pleckish, chairman of the Republican Party of Minnesota.

Speaker 15 (06:21):
This is a massive failure of leadership by Tim Walls.
You know he was warned, he ignored the whistleblowers. I
think he knows about time. He has to listen to
the people of Minnesota.

Speaker 16 (06:30):
The Minnesota DHES has spoken. They say Walls is one
hundred percent responsible for the fraud. Jeff Biggs News Radio
seven forty k Thierry.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
The son of director Rob Reiner, has been charged with
two counts of first degree murder in the stabbing death
of the director and his wife.

Speaker 17 (06:47):
These charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison
without the possibility parol or the death powerty.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
La County, GA.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
Nathan Hoffman says no decision has been made on the
death penalty as of yet. College Hoops the Longhorns beat
Lemoyne ninety five to fifty three. I'm Cliff Saunders on
Houston's News, weather and Traffic station News Radio seven forty
KTRH from Portland.

Speaker 14 (07:13):
Portland has been on fire for years to right here
in town. I mean, it feels like things are just
getting worse and worse.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Use Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Many other Pedatonics fans out there, Man, they're good. Five
oh wait and here on Houston's morning News. Right we're
getting close to the Christmas wallet Hub. I don't do
a lot of wallet Hub stories because I look at
their methodology and I go, what the heck are you
talking about? And here's probably a prime example. Wallet hub
has their list of the best cities for twenty twenty

(07:45):
five to celebrate Christmas and the criteria according to wallet hub, well,
here's exactly what they said. With inflation making Christmas celebrations, gifts, food,
and travel more expensive, certain cities are much better for
your wallet than others during the holiday. In addition to
being affordable, the best cities have a large number of
people celebrating, plenty of places for Christians to worship, populations

(08:09):
who give generously to charity, and plenty of fun activities
to enjoy with family and friends. And based on that criteria,
where in the world is Houston, Texas on that list?
We are number twenty seven on the list, Dallas is
number twenty eight, Austin ranked twenty fifth. So it looks
I think Austin ranked the highest as far as Texas

(08:32):
city's on that list. So who's in the top ten
in reverse order? Number ten, Cincinnati, Ohio, number nine, New
Orleans number eight, Pittsburgh number seven, Miami. Yeah, that's why
I think of it. I think at Christmas, Miami, Saint
Louis came in sixth. Las Vegas came in fifth. Well,
they do have a lot of bride lights in plenty

(08:54):
of tinsil Number four Orlando, Number three, Seattle, Washington, Number two,
San France, Cisco, what's affordable about San Francisco? And number one?
Atlanta came in number one for traditions, fun things to do,
easy or relatively easy on the wallet. I'll tell you

(09:16):
where Christmas lives. I'll tell you the best today for Christmas.
Right down. It's in that spot right between your two ears.
That's where Christmas lives for most of us, through our
memories and our families and the things we enjoy doing
and our own traditions. The best city to spend Christmas
in is the one that's right between your two ears.

(09:37):
Five to ten, Time for traffic and whether have you.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
Been watching the Hallmark channel again?

Speaker 14 (09:41):
I'm getting a little sentiment of my old age, Mike.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
And you ever been to Nekedish, Louisiana.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Oh, they have the biggest you'd see, Terry, That's what
I'm talking about.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
They film still make no use there.

Speaker 14 (09:51):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
The Christmas Festival is such a big deal. All right,
we'll talk about that later.

Speaker 14 (09:55):
I'll find out more about that later. Yes, I'll show you.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Let's go to the north side. I have forty is
it my imagination? Are we a little sweaty on the
freeways and spots. I'm looking from Conroe down through the Woodlands,
down through Grandma's house, and it's twenty one minutes into downtown.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
For now, we're in good shape here.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
East texts coming down from the Sticks, New Cany, You
look nice. Thirty one minutes into downtown. I don't even
have that squish when we get to the elevated And
if you're coming up the Golf Freeway, let's go the
other way and mark up. You look good, Dickenson Gogators.
You're in good shape all the way up here. Nothing
doing on the Southwest Freeway their new territory up the

(10:33):
Brass River outbound this coming weekend. Wouldn't surprise me if
they have some big nasty roadwork there. They keep planning
it and then putting it off. We are twenty one
minutes from Sugarland up I'm skylike it's your Generator supercenter,
dot Com traffic.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Center from r KTRH top tax defenders, twenty four hour
weather center. I think the sweaty is talking about there.
We've had a few sprinkles at least in spots over night.
Terry Smith, I get a feeling we're gonna get some
more rain today.

Speaker 18 (10:56):
Yes, we are going to see more rain.

Speaker 19 (10:59):
Low pressure we're making its way along the Texas coast means.

Speaker 18 (11:04):
A lot of clouds today, wet weather off and on.

Speaker 19 (11:07):
The bulk of the showers so far have been like
around the downtown area and then southward closer to the coast,
but just about anybody could see submarine over the course
of the day. Today, it's a fifty percent chance of showers,
some thunder at times. Temperatures today and the mid sixties
to low seventies, and we still have a forty percent

(11:29):
chance of some showers tonight as well. But then we
dry out tomorrow and it stays dry for the rest
of the week.

Speaker 18 (11:35):
Plenty of sunshine tomorrow, just on the mild side.

Speaker 19 (11:41):
Tomorrow in the mid upper seventies, and then Fridays the
day that we cool slightly into the middupper sixties and
then warming up into the weekend close to eighty over
the weekend. It's quite a big temperature change the next
couple of days.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Yeah, good thing, we don't need cold weather to celebrate
Christmas right now.

Speaker 14 (11:58):
Thank goodness, Denine.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Here at your official severe weather station, News Radio seven
forty KTRH.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
I live in clear Lake, Humble, reliable KTRH traffic and weather.

Speaker 14 (12:09):
Next on the ten.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
All right, coming up on five twenty here on Houston's
More News. So, the jobs were poored came out, and
depending upon who you want to listen to, there's either
good news or bad news, or maybe it's it's a
little bit of both. Sixty I think it was sixty
four thousand jobs were created. There are some major corporation
layoffs going on. The unemployment rate ticked up, but there

(12:35):
are people who think that there's some good news to
be gathered from that jobs reboard, and we'll share that
with you coming up next. First though, let's do a
little traffic and weather together, starting with you Scuma and coming.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
I was about to whop oout the bubble wrap, but
we've got this deal on the Gulf Freeway that just
popped up. I here's the wreck. What's your lane? It's
just two right lanes and we're inbound.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
How meetd you know?

Speaker 3 (12:54):
Is the cross street and you'll hit those brakes right
after the Beltway so heads up if you're coming up
from clear Lake or Leak City and it doesn't look
like it's a big backup, but it's five cent in
the morning, so that'll most likely get worse if they
don't move it pretty quickly. If you want to go ahead.
If two eighty eights an option, do that. If two
twenty five has do that too. I'm Skymike.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
It's your Generator Supercenter dot Com traffic center.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
From our KTRH top tax defenders twenty four hour weather center. Today, cloudy,
occasional showers, maybe some thunder with the high temperature about seventy.
Cloud's early becoming party. Cloudy's seventy seven tomorrow and then Friday,
mainly Sunday with the high temperature right about sixty seven.
Current temperature is fifty nine. Here at your official severe
weather station, News Radio seven forty KTRH. It's a Wednesday morning.

Obamacare problem before January. A Dallas church goes viral for
running for making parishioners angry. A nativity scene depicting the

Speaker 14 (14:14):
We'll check it out every day.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Fine Youth Radio seven k t R h fu's funny too.
Now the jobs report. Let's talk about the jobs report
and what's the bottom line of the jobs report?

Speaker 14 (14:26):
What we're we expect.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
I don't think we're expecting, you know, a kick ass
jobs report. I think we're expecting something kind of you know,
so so. But at least the panel Larry Kudlow put
together for his Fox Business show. Some of them think
there's some really good things to see in there. Others think, well,
let's kind of a mixed bag. But let's just go

(14:48):
ahead and get some analysis here on this latest jobs report.

Speaker 21 (14:52):
I was very impressed by the jobs report, to be honest.
I mean I would have thought employment may have come
down a little bit.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
It should have.

Speaker 21 (14:59):
We have love much such less immigration of population. You
sit there and say, you know, we had what twelve
million under Biden, thirteen million. Whatever it is illegal aliens
coming in, they're now none at the border. In fact,
a lot of people are going back. I would have
expected employment to drop a little bit, but it didn't.
It rose, and real wages are rising. As you say,
that's all really good stuff. And when I look at

(15:21):
this economy, we have a huge, a huge coming on January. First,
the tax bill, the BBB is going to take effect
with a lot of new tax cuts, a lot of
policy changes that are really pro gross. So I am
expecting the next year to be very attractive given the
report we have now, and give then the drop of oil,
and given the chance the thing we're going to change

(15:42):
in the FED. I mean, we're going to have a
new FED chairman who's going to be really good.

Speaker 22 (15:46):
So let's start with the job support so I can
give you. I can be at the other end of
the art laugher a scale. So it's a it's a
solid report. It's not a great report. Oh we've gone
sixty four thousand jobs. Sixty jobs. They're all in healthcare.
And indeed, this has been the pattern since April, which
is we're not getting private sector job growth in areas

(16:09):
outside of healthcare services more generally, and I'd like to
see broader based jobs growth. I think that's that's sort
of my concern. Number one is construction. Yeah, concern number
two is the waves growth is tapering on us. I
take your point, Larry, but in this report, the growth
in average oy aladies was an annualate of one point

(16:31):
six percent. I'd like to see the numbers stay a
little higher, and so I think it's cool down a
bit in only job market. I'm concerned about that. The
last number upo point two is the so called U six,
the broader measure of under utilization of labor that jumped
from eight to eight point seven between September and November.
I don't like that trend at all. So I'm a

(16:51):
little more concerned about the jobs report than than are is.
I'm sure that's true, but I agree with you on
the impact of the oil prices. A lot of people
have been pointing to the lower end of the income distribution, saying, look,
there's no way way we can continue household spending.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
Consumption is going to fall off. We're in trouble.

Speaker 22 (17:10):
I think historically, low energy prices have been one of
the reasons that that hasn't fallen off. Anytime we see
a price spike, it's the lower income individuals who's spending
gets it. This is a reverse. It's supporting household spending,
supporting the economy, and it's been a big, big benefit.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Okay, I agree with both both of those individuals, not
that I'm a job expert by a stretch, or an
economic excerpt by any stretch the imagination. One figure I
found kind of interesting was job openings. I didn't hear
a job openings number for this report, but the last
report I saw a job opening for I was a

(17:48):
couple of maybe a month or two ago, and we
had like seven point seven million job openings. These are
jobs that are available that have not been fulfilled yet,
they've not been filled with people. So is there a
reason for the unemployment rate to tick up only if
we can't find people qualified for these jobs. So I
see that as a bigger problem.

Speaker 14 (18:09):
Right now.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
We have plenty of job openings and people who either
aren't interested in working those jobs for whatever reason, or
or they're not qualified to work those jobs. That seems
like an equally big problem to solve, because if the
openings are there and people take the jobs and the
unemployment rate plummets five twenty six. It's time to take
a look at your money.

Speaker 23 (18:31):
Good morning. Amazon is said to be in initial talks
to invest at least ten billion dollars in Open AI
and sell the chat sept maker It's Chips. A deal
with Marco win for Amazon's fledgling semiconductor division and its
efforts to expand its presence in the artificial intelligence industry.
In Nvidia dominates the market for chips that create AI platforms.

(18:52):
Jobs day return to Wall Street after a break from
the government's shutdown, and it's a sluggish picture for the
labor market. America added sixty four thous and jobs in
November after a decline of one hundred and five thousand
in October. The sm P five hundred fell for a
third straight day. The Dow dropped three hundred two points.

Speaker 18 (19:09):
This morning.

we're gonna give you more details on that hit piece

(20:12):
about the claim that President Trump has the personality of
an alcoholic.

Speaker 14 (20:18):
What does that mean? Let's hang out, grab a beer,
come over and man doesn't even drink anyway.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Uh, let's check out the drive first here sky Mike,

(21:27):
News Radio seven forty KTRH. It's time for the news.
Here's Cliff Saunders.

Speaker 5 (21:32):
It's five thirty two. Good morning everyone. Our top story.
Time running out on Congress to get a deal done
on healthcare. As the subsidies propping up Obamacare expire in
two weeks.

Speaker 4 (21:42):
Dems demanding a three year extension.

Speaker 24 (21:45):
If they're willing to accept changes that actually would put
more power and control and resources in the hands of
the American people and less of that in the pockets
of the insurance companies.

Speaker 14 (21:56):
I think there's a path forward.

Speaker 5 (21:57):
That is Senate Minority Majority Leader John Thune in the
House Speaker Mike Johnson ruled out a vote on extending
the subsidies this week. We could be looking at another
government shutdown early next year. Democrats couldn't be dumb enough
to try that again, could they.

Speaker 25 (22:14):
They're not going to go the route of shutdown because
they've already gotten burned on that before, and they know
that it's very unlikely that they're going to get anything
else done in this current Congress. Their hopes are going
to be to try to see what they can get
after the midterms.

Speaker 5 (22:26):
Political strategists led to Vidiot there there says that Democrats
are just using shutdown threats to try and extend and
expand Obamacare. Meantime, the Trump administration is calling out Vanity
Fair over that hit piece interview, with the White House
Chief of Staff.

Speaker 26 (22:42):
Susie Wiles saying in a statement on X, I assume
after reading it that this was done to paint an
overwhelmingly chaotic and negative narrative about the President and our team.
The article includes Wiles speaking candidly about the administration's mistakes
like Elon Musk chaotically gutting USA, suggesting a link between
alleged use of the drug ketamine. Wiles also said Pambondi

(23:03):
quote completely whiffed in her early handling of the Epstein files.

Speaker 5 (23:07):
That is Fox's Jackie Heinrich reporting five thirty three, Trump's
economic approval numbers slipped down to thirty nine percent thanks
to the mainstream Maria and media narrative ahead of next
year's midterms, which is one reason why the White House
wanted red states like Indiana to redo their congressional maps.
Sean Flakewood of The Federalist said its failure is a

(23:27):
wake up call about next year.

Speaker 27 (23:29):
Really, what this boils down to is an issue of
self governance, and unless we the people actually take self
governance seriously, holding them accountable in primaries.

Speaker 14 (23:38):
The type of traitorous behavior that.

Speaker 27 (23:40):
You're seeing in places like Indiana among the Republicans, that's
not going to change.

Speaker 5 (23:44):
By the way, President Trump addresses the nation tonight at
eight o'clock. We will have that at KTRHKTRH dot com

(24:05):
point zero so Og responded on Facebook, calling Hidalgo's tenure
as county judge and this is a quote disgraceful state politics. Now,
Texas Governor Greg Gabbett and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick are
moving forward with plans to cut your property taxes.

Speaker 28 (24:21):
Both a governor and lieutenant governor have competing plans for
school property tax cuts. While they're slightly different, they both
cover the lost revenues by tapping a state surplus ut.
Austin professor David to Matthews says, right now, there is
the cash to pay for this.

Speaker 29 (24:35):
However, when there's economic downturns that very quickly can impact
the amount of state funding that could go into education.

Speaker 28 (24:43):
He says a drop in oil prices could destabilize public
education in the future. The details of both plans, he predicts,
will be hashed out when lawmakers get back to work
next year.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
Kjr h's Joe Morano Fort BENDISD is moving ahead with rezoning.
Their proposed plan would shut down seven elementary school wolves,
infecting about three thousand kids.

Speaker 30 (25:02):
I have mixed feelings about it, like I understand what
you know they're trying to do. At the same time,
I feel like there are other schools that can look at.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
The plan would add one new middle school.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
According to court documents, the man charged with boarding a
spring id bus with a gun was targeting a female
student that he had previously dated. David Manison is back
in court today. Things have gone from bad to worse
for the embattled police chief in Humble.

Speaker 31 (25:31):
Dan Zintich, who was promoted as Humble police chief back
on May thirtieth, is no longer on paid administrative leave. Instead,
he is now on unpaid administrative leave. It was last
Thursday night that the city council decided to put Zintich
on paid leave as the city brought in a third
party law firm for an independent investigation into how Zintech

Speaker 1 (26:38):
This is Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Barrett.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
If you're a member of the Trump administration, why are
you given an interview to Vanity Fair. You know nothing
good's gonna come from it, right, you know it's going
to be a hit piece. But Susie Wise, President Trump's
chief of staff evidently gave several lengthy interviews to some
reporter from Vanity Fair who managed to put together a

(27:06):
report on the Trump administration where Susie is making the
claims that Vice President J. D. Bants is a conspiracy
theorist and that President Trump has the personality of an alcoholic.
Let's get some more details on what is in this story.
Here's the report from Fox News.

Speaker 26 (27:26):
The challenge for the White House is many of Susie
Wilde's reported comments under cut the administration's official position on
issues from Venezuela to Epstein to political retribution. And although
officials today pushed back on the framing, they have not
produced any specific counterpoints showing that the writers got it wrong.

Speaker 20 (27:47):
If any of us have learned a lesson from that
Vanity Fair article, I hope that the lesson is we
should be giving fewer interviews to mainstream media outlets.

Speaker 26 (27:56):
President Trump's inner circle defending his chief of staff, Susie
wad Files after a series of interviews produced what she
called a disingenuously framed hit piece, saying in a statement
on X, I assume after reading it that this was
done to paint an overwhelmingly chaotic and negative narrative about
the President and our team.

Speaker 7 (28:13):
Many people in this building spoke with that reporter in
those comments were never included in this story, probably because
it didn't push this false narrative of chaos and confusion that.

Speaker 14 (28:25):
The reporter was clearly trying to push.

Speaker 26 (28:27):
The article includes Wiles speaking candidly about the administration's mistakes,
like Elon Musk chaotically gutting USA, suggesting a link between
his alleged use of the drug ketamine. Wiles also said
Pambondi quote completely whiffed in her early handling of the
Epstein files and appeared to contradict the President's claims that
he has never been on Epstein's plane on Venezuela. Wiles

(28:48):
reported comments also undercut the administration's stated motive interdicting drugs,
saying Trump quote wants to keep on blowing boats up
until Maduro cries Uncle. Cabinet members, who Wiles appeared to
be sliding in the piece, coming to her defense, Bondie
posting we are family, we are United.

Speaker 14 (29:05):
Vice President JD.

Speaker 26 (29:06):
Vance, Whu Wiles reportedly described as a conspiracy theorist, also
downplaying alarm.

Speaker 20 (29:11):
Sometimes I am a conspiracy theorist, but I only believe
in the conspiracy.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
Theories that are true.

Speaker 26 (29:15):
President Trump told The New York Post he agrees with
Wild's statement that he has an alcoholics personality, saying I've
said that many times about myself. I'm fortunate I'm not
a drinker. But the interviews briefly derailed the administration's plans
to focus exclusively on economic messaging.

Speaker 22 (29:31):
Unfortunately, I have to ask a bit of an off
topic question from affordability because snoos vnced you intervene.

Speaker 20 (29:36):
And Susie Wiles. We have our disagreements. We agree on
much more than we disagree, but I've never seen her
be disloyal to the President of the United States.

Speaker 26 (29:46):
One piece of news that was buried in the article's
drama came from Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He said,
and Vice President Vance decides to run in twenty twenty eight,
he will be the Republican nominee and Rubio will be
his supporter.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
I'm still trying to figure out what the personality of
an alcoholic is because everything I've looked up about alcoholics
and their personality includes traits like being impulsive. I guess
President Trump can be impulsive. Seen him do that sensation seeking?
You see a sensation seeker. You might be able to
make an argument on that one. High stress levels. Well

(30:20):
he's president, so you've got to figure he's under a
lot of stress. Low self esteem No no, no, no
no no, that is not an issue for the president.
Low self esteem and a family history of alcoholism. Well,
like I said, he doesn't drink, but he he is driven,
that is for sure. Five forty one. Time for traffic
and weather together as we check in with Skymike.

Speaker 3 (30:40):

you all the time, miss us radio seven H. Yeah,
it's a real dope place right now. Five.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
First of all, they're up to their you know what
in snow it's number one, not a fan of that.
Uh in number two? You know you got the Somali community.
It's ripping off the taxpayers left and right, and a
governor who seems to want to blame white guys. Here's
Governor Tim Watson then begets a reaction to what he says, you.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Will hear more from members of the leaders for the
small community to say we need to hold our we
need to look at ourselves, we need to hold our
home days accountable.

Speaker 34 (35:46):
Look, it's not law abiding citizens if they If that
were the case, there's a lot of white men should
be holding a lot of white men accountable for the
for the crimes that they have committed. For every crime,
which of course the majority being committed by white men,
asking us to do more about that, I think it's
crime in general.

Speaker 35 (36:01):
Then, of course there's Ilhan Omar, whose district was the
epicenter of Somali fraud.

Speaker 14 (36:08):
Gee, I wonder if there's.

Speaker 35 (36:09):
Any connection between the first Somali in US history to
serve in Congress and the billions in fraud in her district,
which is mainly made up of Somali's.

Speaker 14 (36:20):
So what's her story?

Speaker 35 (36:22):
She landed in the US after fleeing civil war in Somalia.
She says her dad was an educator, but he was
also a colonel in the Somalian army under a dictator
who committed war crime. So yeah, she escaped the problem
that her family helped create that's like a flasher who
comes here to escape frostbite. And the Washington Beacon Free

(36:46):
Beacon reports that, yeah, she really did marry her brother,
possibly to skirt immigration laws and get her brother into
the US, no wonder they serve the wedding food family style.

Speaker 14 (36:58):
They tracked online marriage in to prove it.

Speaker 35 (37:00):
But when the Beacon reached out to her team, they
were called bigots for even asking, because for Dems like her,
they rely on the ruse that accountability is racist. Every
audit is a human rights violation, and every Wednesday is
Ladies' night. But you got to ask, how come no
Democrats are defending her. That's the dog not barking. No

(37:25):
one's saying, hey, ilhan Omar didn't marry her brother. I
mean if someone had said that about me, I'm pretty
sure people would speak out on my.

Speaker 14 (37:32):
Behalf, at the very least my brother.

Speaker 35 (37:36):
But you don't hear anything from the Dems about her,
not even a request for proof of bunk beds. And
they'll defend anything, including sergeant a lot. So the question
is why what happened to Minnesota. It's a modest state,
full of hardworking people who love Castle roles Land of
Lake's butter and women who throw their hat in the air. Mary,

(38:01):
they didn't ask for a government that treats their tax
money like baby oil at a diddy party. So how
to Minnesota become so corrupt?

Speaker 14 (38:09):
Well, here's the blueprint.

Speaker 35 (38:11):
They they insulated protected communities that vote overwhelmingly Democrat, like
the Somalis.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
And that's the bottom line. They protect ilhan Omar. They
protected the Somalis because it's a big bloating voting block
for the Democrats. If it were a big voting block
for Republicans, this would have been exposed a long, long
time ago. Five fifty six. Here on News Radio seven

White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt is President Trump prepares
to address the nation tonight at eight.

Speaker 4 (40:46):
You can hear it on KGRH.

Speaker 5 (40:48):
Trump is likely to talk about Venezuela as well. He
ordered total blockcade of oil tankers both coming and leaving
that country. He's declared the Nicholas Maduro regime a foreign
terrorist organization as well, and that move came just hours
after members of the administration brief Congress about drug boat strikes.
The left still all worked up over these September two

(41:12):
double tap hits.

Speaker 38 (41:13):
I haven't heard the same degree of concern for al
Qaeda and ices and other terrorist organizations in the Middle
East when we took some of them out through some
of these drone attacks.

Speaker 4 (41:26):
Texas Senator John Cornyon on Fox.

Speaker 16 (41:45):
We also know in this profession that many criminals will.

Speaker 14 (41:47):
Case out of the area weeks.

Speaker 5 (41:49):
In days prior, two people were killed, nine others injured.
The Bandai Beach terrorists that survived the weekend attack in Australia,
killing fifteen is now facing a total of fifty nine charges.
The other terrorists killed in the tac that injured dozens
at a Honkkah celebration. A potential bombing attack in the
US on New Year's Eve is thwarted, leegedly planned by

(42:12):
four pro Palestinian activists.

Speaker 10 (42:14):
The COUMP administration is taking these threats seriously, putting the
focus on where the focus needs to be and not
wasting our resources looking at moms and school boards or
Catholic church members that accept woke ideology.

Speaker 5 (42:26):
Jeff Atticott with the Warrior Defense Project. Syria nationals are
now banned from entering the country after two American soldiers
were killed over the weekend. Some lawmakers want us to
pull military resources out of that country. Others want something
very different.

Speaker 12 (42:42):
I believe they are necessary to protect the homeland because
there are certain things, certain operations that can only be
done overseas.

Speaker 5 (42:48):
Pennsylvania Republican Brian Fitzpatrick wants retaliation. Syria is one of
five countries on that now expanded ban list. According to ICE,
there is quote zero record to prove the claim made
by the Squand's ilhan Omar that her son was pulled
over by the FEDS. Recently, more fallout from the massive
Minnesota Somali fraud scandal, Governor Tim Walls announced a new

(43:12):
fraud PATENTI prevention program.

Speaker 4 (43:14):
We know that Walls was aware.

Speaker 5 (43:16):
Of the issues years ago, but basically ignored the whole thing.

Speaker 15 (43:20):
Well because he didn't want to at that time. It's
a mess that they didn't want to get into and
by investigating I think there was also a feeling that
they'd be rubbing the wrong way with constituencies that they
count on for getting votes, and the oversight that he
had full authority to do, he never did.

Speaker 5 (43:35):
Minnesota GOP chair Alex Pleckish Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton
file suit against five television makers for secretly spying on
Texans collecting their personal data.

Speaker 39 (43:48):
What Ken Paxton is really doing here is standing up
not only for Texans but all Americans. No one thinks
that when they sit down to watch TV, that their
TV is watching them. Essentially, what's happening.

Speaker 5 (44:02):
Writbart's Colin Madine says that the five TV manufacturers include Sony, Samsung,

Speaker 40 (44:45):
Among them the recent polls showing more Americans are spending
one thousand dollars or more on gifts than at any
time in the past four years. But recent disappointments hard
to be expected. Hotel mccorr CEO Dan Verny says.

Speaker 10 (44:58):
I'm not surprised because interest rates are too high and
the cost of money is still too high.

Speaker 33 (45:04):
That's why houses aren't moving, either existing homes.

Speaker 14 (45:07):

Speaker 28 (45:08):
That's why small businesses are not hiring.

The economy added sixty four thousand jobs last month. Meantime,
Houston's red hot job market may cool a bit next year.
UHS Stephen Craig predicts fewer jobs as businesses wrestle with
uncertainty around oil prices, immigration, and tariffs.

Speaker 15 (45:29):
I think it's appropriate to be cautious.

Speaker 14 (45:32):
It's important not to be too depressed.

Speaker 5 (45:34):
Some economists, A healthcare, government, and hospitality are expected to

Speaker 1 (45:59):
More with Jimmy and the Houston Morning News teams. This
is Houston's Morning News. It turns out that singing Christmas
carols is good for your health. That, by the way,
is my favorite Christmas carol, hark the Herald Angels. At
any rate, you probably have a favorite. We'll make a

(46:19):
question today about this as I do this little story here.
So why is singing Christmas? And by the way, Christmas
Carol's not to be confused with a Christmas song. You know,
Blue Christmas by Elvis is a Christmas song. Silent Night
is a Christmas carol.

Speaker 37 (46:33):
You know.

Speaker 2 (46:33):
To be Christmas carol, it it has to have some
sort of religious connotation, something to do with the actual
reason for the holiday, which we sometimes forget. There is
a reason behind why we celebrate Christmas. Anyway, back to
the idea that singing Christmas carols is good for you.
Number one, it connects with other people, assuming you're doing
with somebody else, connecting with other people who leave stress.

(46:56):
A study in twenty fifteen had strangers sing together for
an hour and they felt oddly close by the end,
like they'd known each other for years. So it helps
you connect with other people. Number two, it calms you down.
Singing activates your vegas nerve, which runs past your vocal cords.
Activating it slows your heart rate, lowers your blood pressure,

(47:18):
and tells your body to stop producing the stress hormone cortisol.
Number three expands your lungs, so it's good for your
respiratory system, and it's even used to help with chronic
lung conditions. Number four stimulate your brain. Singing makes multiple
parts of your brain light up. It activates sections linked
to language, moving, and emotions. And number five, it's a

(47:39):
good workout. You wouldn't think so, especially the way I sing,
but but it does. You convert about one hundred calories
an hour, even if you're sitting down just singing Christmas carols.
So here's my question today, seees how Christmas is next week.
Favorite Christmas carol you know the one, the one that

(47:59):
you need to hear to know it's Christmas. I mean
there's a lot of Christmas carols. Which one is your favorite?
You go to the iHeart Radio up kat h hit

AGAIN i was really hoping we could retire this one
six twenty three our time here In houston's morning. News
so will there be a government? Shutdown two point? Oh, well,
ACTUALLY i guess technically would be more than two point.
Oh that was not the first time the government shut.
Down it's shut down numerous times over the, years but
that was the longest shutdown we've been. Through gladavidia joins
this political. STRATEGIST i know There's congress is not going

(53:43):
to be taking Up obamacare subsidy extension this. WEEK i
don't know that they'll be taking it up at all before,
now in the time the Continuing resolution expires next. Month
but if they, don't do you suspect The democrats will
shut the government down.

Speaker 42 (53:58):
AGAIN i don't expect them To. JIMMY i think they
got really burned this last. TIME i think that they
understand that the longer it dragged out and the more
that they thought that they were going to benefit from,
it the worse it got for. Them What americans understand
right now is that congressional dysfunction is not driven by

(54:20):
what The president's, proposing but it's driven by failed budgeting.
Practices Because washington has even passed a real budget and
The democrats continue relying on continued resolutions which keep the
agencies bloated and outdated and weakened, accountability and it doesn't
fly with The american.

Speaker 2 (54:37):
People, well the other thing strikes me too is is
the lack of. Weaponization the one thing that did come
out of this last go around is they did manage
to fund things like THE snap program for for an entire.
Year so the things that they were relying on for
pressure are no longer.

Speaker 42 (54:57):
There, yeah one of the big changes is that right
NOW usaid has been shut, down and so there's a
lot of funding that used to go To democrats that
they used to be able to switch over into more
propaganda and getting their message. Out they don't have some
of those resources. Anymore, Additionally republicans have understood the key

(55:20):
programs that benefit those in need and Help americans who are,
down you, know down on times and need additional, assistance
and they focused on making sure those pieces of legislation
went through while blocking the bloat and the waste and
the abuse That democrats keep. Proposing so you, know that's
WHY snap funding went, through but funding FOR npr was,

(55:44):
cut funding for trans surgeries And nicaragua was. Cut the
crazy programs that completely wipe out The american taxpayer funds were,
eliminated And democrats don't really know how to deal with.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
That do you think we're ever going to see an actual?
Budget we always going to have continuing. Resolutions is that
our faith for the future to continue to go down
that see our?

Speaker 42 (56:05):
ROUTE i think both sides are starting to recognize that
the best solution going forward is probably going to be
to have a, strong, clear written budget because continued resolutions
just continue to deliver threats of, shutdown which are starting
to lose their value as political expediency and propaganda with

(56:26):
The american, people And republicans have really sent a strong
message to The american people that they are focused on,
governing not governing by, crisis But democrats keep inserting opportunities for,
crisis and so you, know getting that wasteful spending under
control and rejecting shut down politics in favor of, durable
responsible governance is What republicans. Offer they know That democrats.

christmas songs written in the seventeen and eighteen. Hundreds you
want to talk about, Oldies woo those are. Oldies joy
to The world obviously a very Traditional christmas, song that
version on necessarily a traditional version of. It BUT i

(01:05:02):
think my affinity For christmas carols Versus christmas songs has
a lot to do with my. UPBRINGING i grew up
in A methodist church that had been built in the eighteen,
sixties and it had this, big giant pipe, ORGAN i
mean floored to ceiling pipe tubes or. Whatever they call

(01:05:23):
those on the. Organ just the organ itself was well
over one hundred years. OLD i don't know if it
was original to the. Church it probably, wasn't but it
was still, very very, old and it was one of
those where they'd hit the low. Notes when the organists
would hit the low, notes the pews would, vibrate the
whole church would. Vibrate and when you're doing A Christmas

(01:05:45):
eve service and the whole church is vibrating from the,
music it's just that that is part of what puts
me in The christmas. Spirit so WHEN i saw this
story About christmas carols and how they're good for your
health because they reduced straight and if you sing with other,
people it's cut the camaraderie between you and even complete.

Right one thing That Bill clinton does not want to
do IS i don't want to. Testify his legal counsel
and the Former secretary Of, State Hillary clinton's legal council
fighting back hard against demands From house Over Side committee
Chair James comer that they testify before his panel in

(01:24:37):
connection with The Jeffrey epstein. INVESTIGATION i have nothing to.
SAY i don't know anything about it Any Jeffrey, eppstaine,
listen is there any doubt in your, mind knowing what
we know About Bill clinton And hillary as far AS i,
goes that there is there's a deep connection. THERE i,
mean we know from the plane logs That Bill clinton

(01:24:59):
has been on Jeff epstein's playing a bunch of, times
has been To Jeffrey Epstein's. Island so do they want
to be able to want to testify about? That, no
because you have one of two. Choices if you're one
of those two going in to testify About Jeffrey, epstein
you either perjure yourself or you take The Fifth, now

(01:25:21):
if you perjure, yourself then you're putting yourself in legal,
peril and they don't want to do. That and if
you take The Fifth, amendment then you know THAT'S i
refuse to answer that question of the GROUNDS i might incriminate.
Myself Not now you are looking guilty as, hell, Right
so this is like a no win situation if they go.

(01:25:42):
In but as we found in the, past there are
plenty of people who get threatened with testifying in front
Of congress and never. Do for, example back In, August
Comber withdrew subpoenis for five former attorney GENERAL i should
say attorneys general to be correct about, it said that

(01:26:04):
they had no. Knowledge, well we don't know, anything we
don't know nothing about. Nothing, okay you don't have to come.
In then they also excuse FORMER fbi Directors James comy
And Robert muller from having to appear for live. Depositions
the only one so far that's testified is Former Attorney
General Bill. Barr he's the only. One everybody else has

(01:26:27):

people under. Arrest again far left, EXTREMISTS i mean anti,
capitalist anti, government Pro. Palestinian evidently from what we're hearing

(01:31:51):
join us to talk about it Is Jeff atticott at
The Warrior Defense. Project how many of these kinds of
people are just kind of out there in our, country
do you, Suspect?

Speaker 37 (01:32:00):
Jeff, well the numbers are growing because of the rhetoric
on the far left about you, know anti. Ice in,
fact they've arrested a fifth member of this group just,
recently and he was going to plan a bomb attack
In New orleans AGAINST ice. Facilities so we're up to
five members now.

Speaker 21 (01:32:19):
That have been.

Speaker 37 (01:32:19):
Arrested so the numbers are, growing. Unfortunately and, again terrorism
is a tactic that's used by a variety of different
types of. Groups right wing, extremists left wing, extremists Radical islamic.
Extremists the number one threat is always Radical islam and number,
two neck and neck is either criminal nut jobs to
go into schools to kill, people or left wing. Extremists

(01:32:41):
the right wing extremist group is actually the smallest number of,
all despite The biden administration's rhetoric that was the greatest.

Speaker 2 (01:32:49):
THREAT i don't think that probably a lot of people
had heard the Name Turtle Island Liberation front up until
this particular. Incident what do we know about this?

Speaker 37 (01:32:57):
Group, yeah it's Like Theese Liberation army back in they
nobody ever heard of that group viewed but similar types of.
Organization they hate, capitalism and that's the red thread throughout
all far and left. Organizations they hate capitalism and of,
course uh you, know as A, christian thou shalt not
steal and thou shall not lost after your neighbor's. Property

(01:33:17):
god's a. Capitalist so they're all anti established. Capitalism they're disoriented,
reality and there are breeding. Around of course is in
state The blue states Like california and, uh you Know.
Oregon would you see The antifa movements that their. Largest
so it's a growing threat and these people are disoriented.

Trump administration, of Course the president's going to speak tonight to.
The nation word has it that most of the conversation

(01:51:11):
is going to be. ABOUT affordability i think he's looking
to again to hit That point home's here's the progress that,
We've made here's where we still have progress. TO make
i think maybe one of the biggest mistakes perhaps That
the president made in running was was indicating to people
that somehow he was going to make not only, inflation

(01:51:34):
disappear but that prices.

Speaker 14 (01:51:35):
Would drop.

Speaker 2 (01:51:38):
That's a very rare thing short of a recession or.
A depression price is dropping is generally not a. Good
thing maybe the concentration should have been on we're going
to solve inflation and we're going to make your we're
going to make your. Wages grow that maybe would have
been the better way, To go but at, any rate
hindsight is twenty. Twenty Right Here's Treasury secretary. Scott besstt

(01:51:59):
he is bully on twenty, twenty six and he gives
some of the reasons why he is.

Speaker 50 (01:52:05):
So Bullish The, One Big beautiful bill was Passed on,
july fourth but For working americans is retroactive to the
beginning of. The year most taxpayers did not change, their
withholding so as, a result we're going to see very
substantial one hundred to one hundred and fifty billion of
briefunds in the first quarter go Directly to. Americans pockets

(01:52:27):
so the center, they file, the center they will. Get
them our estimate is it could be, one thousand two thousand,
per household depending on the number.

Speaker 14 (01:52:37):
Of, workers wow that is a.

Speaker 41 (01:52:38):
Big Deal, so sepsuary you've talked about this additional money
from the tax code that. We're getting you talked about
the impact of the big. Beautiful bill sounds like you
think we're going to get a real economic boost for
the macro story in the first or.

Speaker 14 (01:52:51):
Second quarter is that what.

Speaker 50 (01:52:52):
You're, SAYING yes i think it's going to they start
lifting off of the first quarter in the. Second quarter and, You,
know maria the, other THING when i started my Career
On wall street in, the eighties people used to focus.

Speaker 14 (01:53:04):
On trade were we building more IN the us or
were we.

Speaker 50 (01:53:08):
Importing more we're seeing the trade deficit, Drop too so
the trade deficit drop means more production IN. The US
so i think that's something that economists are going to
have to start looking again at again Thanks To president
trump after.

Speaker 41 (01:53:21):
Forty, years well you're proposing a major shift now in
how the government approaches financial stability by re examining crisis,
era rules moving toward a more flexible. Regulatory framework this
could not be. MORE important I Know president trump thinks
that deregulation is arguably even more important than.

Speaker 14 (01:53:37):
Tax, cuts yes well they.

Speaker 50 (01:53:41):
Go together and the tax cuts, allow corporations but, more
importantly working families to keep more of what they get from,
the deregulation and the deregulation allows us to have substantial growth.
Without inflation what caused the Inflation under biden was they
did this, gigantic spending the series of gigantic, spending bills

(01:54:04):
but then they constrained supply through.

Speaker 14 (01:54:06):
Over regulation so what.

Speaker 50 (01:54:08):
WE'VE done i chair something CALLED, f Sock The Financial Stability,
Oversight council and these two thousand, and eight two thousand,
and nine twenty ten financial rules were. Too tight they
have Hamstrung the american. Financial system it was time for.
A change we are going to, be, safe smart and

(01:54:29):
sound in terms of. Our deregulation and let's hope that
that does, the trick and it.

Speaker 14 (01:54:36):
JUST might i have to.

Speaker 2 (01:54:36):

I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
