Speaker 1 (00:02):
Lunchtimers. This is the Matt Thomas Show ten oh.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Two in h Town. Good morning, everybody, and welcome to
a Friday edition of The Matt Thomas Show with Ross
from Vegas. This is Sports Talk seven ninety eight.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
You can hit the spot at Oyo is what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
You can hit that spot at Oyo and after and
it won't cost as much as like hit the spot
at Caesar's or at Cosmo. Are you talking about Vegas
hooker prices right now?
Speaker 4 (00:30):
No?
Speaker 2 (00:30):
How about can you be sexually attracted to your future stepmother?
I believe there's a whole genre on that. Matt, Oh,
where can you find that? By the way, I'm curious Ross,
how do you And first of all, how do you know? These?
Depends on what state you're in. In Leaving is a
punch in the gut, and then two of the Yankees
would also be a punch in the nuts. Double win.
So you're saying gut and testicles, Yes, damn, it's a lot.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
Well, you're used to having something in your mouth, right,
how do you holding it? Show me real quick, don't
look at me in the eyes when you're doing that.
You know what it's like to bob up and down.
I just start honking. I'm just honking at everyone. I'm
gonna I'm gonna ride this out for a little while.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
So I hear a girl back there behind you. Yeah,
I mean he's a bird. I wouldn't call her. I
wouldn't call our girl, but he's definitely a bird. That's
a bird's name. Missus Thomas. What the hell was that?
Shout out to the bird, Missus Thomas, shout out to
(01:22):
all of you in Houston, Texas. Ten oh five on
the Sports Talks ever Rossie, I think we rallied for Connor.
He didn't have much material apparently until like the last
forty eight hours. We gave him a boatload of stuff.
I think he's spilling over with materials. What he told me, Yeah,
I've got some leftover stuff. Oh oh that's not good.
Speaker 6 (01:42):
Had Salisbury and then I had mc taget in there.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Yeah, you cannot get enough of all those guys. Let's
get make sure once per week we get somebody not
named the Matt and Ross show in there, because there's
gotta be something Clinton has to say in a weekly
basis here, I imagine. So, yeah, sports, Harv, how the
hell are you I'm doing great, Matthew, How are you?
(02:06):
I mean, I'm in worse places. Honestly.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Are you at the crabs table right now?
Speaker 2 (02:12):
No? No, no, I'm here. We're doing a major market
radio show with you. Okay, good about I'll be, but
I'm gonna be. I told you I'm done with craps.
It's all about black. But you've said that fifty times
and you keep going back. Matt I know, well, you
know this year, in twenty twenty four, it's full of
now living up the promises. I'm done with fantasy football
after this week. Thank you brock Purty for doing whatever
(02:35):
the hell that was yesterday for me. I really appreciate that,
and I'm done with craps. By the way, did you
how much of that Rams Niners game did you watch
last night? Unfortunately? I watched very little. I was busy. Well,
I was gonna say, I think fortunately for you, right,
I mean that was apparently it was terrible when you
(02:55):
have an NFL game that goes what was.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
It, twelve six, twelve to six?
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Yes, you know that grumpy al Michaels was in a
bad movie. Oh man, he probably fell asleep in the
halfway through the third quarter. There were one, two, three, four, five,
six field goals. That's it. Which, by the way, he
is renewing one more year, one more year, one more
year of al Michael's Asleep at the Wheel on Prime Video. Well,
(03:21):
here's the thing, Ross, it's a year to your basis.
He's not saying his last year is last next year.
He's saying he's doing it is compared to doing a
multi term deal, which, by the way, I think he
was getting paid ten million dollars a year by Amazon.
I mean, my god, He's like, I'll do ten more million.
They haven't seemed to notice or care that. I'm not
really paying attention to these games. I mean, how many
eighty year olds in this world that which we live
(03:42):
in as are making ten million dollars a year and
doing something.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
It's probably a handful, but not many, not many at all.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
But yeah, twelve six the final score. We had a
player for the Niners that decided he didn't want to
play despite suiting up. Yes, oh my gosh. I mean
even though the Texas Texans are going through some trials
and tribulations right now, they're going through their own sort
of adversity. Ross. Yeah, there is adversity in other places.
There's adversity all around us. Matt, Yep, yep, there's momentum
(04:15):
that can come sometimes within it. Oh god, please, I
didn't even want to get into that discussion. And welcome
to semantics seven ninety right that we're gonna go with.
Now that's two to six. Oh that's true. Please clip
that for them. Yeah, now we can, we can erase that. Yeah,
(04:36):
we don't want to.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
They both know. I'm right, they know.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Hey, everybody, it is a by the way, it's a
beautiful day here in Las Vegas. It is really cold.
It's like it was like thirty eight degrees here last time,
which I didn't think a city like this could ever
get that cold. Okay, and it remains a sola city
ross as you know, Oh my god, solus dystopia. That's
what I call Las Vegas. And everybody has their And
(05:00):
I went out and got a donut this morning and coffee,
and I went to the debit and the guy had
his hand out looking for a tip. I'm like, you
handed me a glaze donut and a cup of coffee.
What else do you want? Yep. Tipping culture is a
little out of control. That's what the thing I loved
about Asia Matt. No tipping anywhere zero unless you really
(05:21):
wanted to hand somebody some money for going above and beyond.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Right, No, it's not compulsory.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
You can do it. I would Yeah, I'd rather actually
pay a service fee and put it in my check
and just be done with this, compared to having to
go through the well do I give him eighteen percent
or twenty five percent or twenty or there was this
guy terrible? You want to be grated every time, but
what if you feel like they didn't do a good
job or they had a bad attitude. I mean, yeah,
I mean that's not happening a lot, but it happens sometimes.
(05:48):
But most times, I mean most the last ten millis
you've had, you've given at least twenty percent, probably nine
times out of ten, right, I.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Would say probably ten out of ten.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Okay, Yeah, So I mean there's once in a while,
rare while, that you're gonna get some bad service, But
generally speaking, I think service for I mean, I've never
had very few problems. I will say that there is
no tipping culture over there, but the servers are also ruder,
but maybe that's because I'm a borish American who can't
speak Korean or Mandarin. Yeah, one time I went to London.
It's only time I went to London my entire life.
(06:19):
And I got on the third it was looking a
little triple decker buses sightseeing buses, and the two people
that were running the bus called me an f and
a hole and I was like what, I didn't do anything. Yeah,
they're just rute. They're just rooted in London.
Speaker 7 (06:31):
You know.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Now, without knowing the rest of the story, I'm gonna
side with those guys. They're probably I figured you and
you were going to do that. You know what, you know,
your your team oppositions.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
What they're saying is making a lot of sense.
Speaker 8 (06:41):
All right, whatever.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Hey, let's talk about the radio program that we're going
to have today. We have got and again major snaffoo
on my part. We promoted the Rotten Five, which has
always been Thursdays at one thirty. I don't know why
we just skipped it yesterday. But you've already composed it, right,
you've already produced it. It's a masterpiece, lock and load.
That's gonna be eleven thirty today. And I would like
to announce my retirement from the Rotten five. You're giving up?
(07:03):
This is it? Yeah, As people have said, Connor does
much better jobs, so I'd like him to continue to
carry the torch. Who said that? I don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Some guy on Twitter, Brian on Twitter.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
So Brian is a big Connor d mcgovernent fan, and
he thinks yes. I mean, if you want to know,
he's making a lot of good points. I think he's right.
Connor does a far superior job, and I think Connor
should do the segment. That's typical backhanded compliment for most sports. Ever,
what was backhanded? We could hear it. We can hear that.
We can hear Connor does a.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Far superior job and he should do it.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
I mean, I'm fifte hundred miles away from you and
I can hear it.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
You're making stuff up in your brain.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Okay, all right, well, you know we'll do what we could.
We'll do a poll question who should do the Rotten five? No,
I think we don't need a poll question. It's a
Connor all the time, is go. I mean, Ross, it's
your second. I don't want to you know, of course,
Ross is Ronen five. The literation. I want you to
take it.
Speaker 6 (07:58):
No, No, you can have it. It's yours. I can
tell you want I can do.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
I don't, Ladies and gentlemen, on every Friday of this
radio program, and it's been this way for fourteen plus years. ROSSI.
It is on anything, and I mean anything goes Friday. Okay,
explain the essence to the audience, the newbies especially of
anything goes from Anything you would like to get to
(08:22):
on the phone lines at seven one three two one
two five seven ninety seven one three two, one two
five seven ninety. If you want a full NBA Cup
breakdown of the Hawks and the Bucks, you can get
it at seven one three two one two five seven ninety.
If you want full breakdown of the field goal techniques
(08:42):
last night on Thursday Night Football, we can get to
that as well. We also have the Texans and the
adversity Jalen Petrie if you'd like to wish him farewell
he is out for the year for the Texans. Anything
you want to get to, of course off topic as well.
If you want craps tips from Thomas, you can get
those at seven one threeety. Yep, yeah, I can definitely
(09:05):
do that. By the way, did I mention this on
the show yesterday. Ticket prices for the NBA Cup are
plummeting quickly. Yes, you didh I don't even want to
look to see what it is today. Because what they
were hoping, the NBA was hoping was they would get
at least one California team because you can jump over
here to Las Vegas rather easily. Yes, so so they
got you. Yeah, I don't know if Atlanta fans, I mean,
(09:28):
I don't even know if there are Hawk fans, to
be honest with you are a Hawk fans jumping on
a plane to come to Las Vegas for this thing
right now? No? No, no, with a weekends notice less
than that. Yeah, not even not even not even all right?
What else is going on mainstream sports wise? It was
kind of a light day again. The Ram if anybody's
(09:48):
getting into a deep dive of the Rams and the
nine er zero loser, because that was a field goal
game involving two teams we don't care about. Odell Beckham
Junior was released by the Texans opponent this week. Yeah,
he was on the injury part, I guess yesterday, and
then this morning he's Gonzo. Lindsay Vaughn is BA back skiing.
She's gonna enter the World Cup. If you want to
(10:08):
hit the slopes with Lindsay Vonn She's I believe she's
forty years old now she is forty. Looks good, looks great.
By the way, speaking of looking good, man, I mentioned
this year the National Rodeo Finals apparently are here right
now in Las Vegas. Yes, okay. And there's a certain
(10:30):
stereotype that goes with dressing up like a cowboy and
a cowgirl.
Speaker 9 (10:35):
Hm.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
When you say cowboy boots, cowboy hat, cowboy belt buckle, yeah,
I would say at least the half the people in
this hotel were staying at are wearing cowboy hats. Can
of natural light in your hand as well. I believe
it's part of the uniform.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
They're school.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
I'm gonna be brutling on us with you. They're beautiful people,
not every one of them that's here, but a lot
of them are, Okay. I mean the guys look rugged,
big belt buckles, cowboy heads they're carrying themselves. Yeah, their
little honeys are attractive. Cowboys are hot, is what you're
telling us. No, I'm not saying that at all. I'm
just saying that they're I mean, you know what, a
good looking man, is right? You've ever seen one or
(11:12):
two in your life? Sure? Why not? You look? You
stare across from one every day ten to two on
Sports Talk is I'm not at all accurate, all right?
My point being is that the cowgirl is I mean,
twenty twenty four, it has been a good year for
the cowgirl. I feel like every year is a good
girl year for the cowgirl. I'm just saying that my
(11:33):
recent experience with the cowgirl is really good because I'm
seeing them like all over the place here and with
that and then it goes Friday continues here on Sports
Talk seven ninety seven one three two one two five
seven ninety If you want to jump into the conversation
seven one three two one two five seven eight, I'm
going to ask you, folks one simple question, especially for
those of you that use social platforms. Are you staring
(11:55):
at your Twitter account, your Instagram account, your thread's account.
What's the new one? Blue sky?
Speaker 8 (12:00):
Is that?
Speaker 2 (12:00):
But that one new one is? Yeah, people are on
the blue sky? Are you staring at it? For information
about one or two particular people? Will discuss that next
ten sixteen on Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 10 (12:12):
More, Matt Thomas Show with Ross Now Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Alight, I need to make sure we clarify something, sports Harvey.
I am admiring the rodeo girls. People are like, are
you sure you don't want to? You know, I'm like,
they're hot, Yeah, they're hot. Yeah, a lot of texts
coming in from friends of mine like, yeah, they're really attractive. Okay,
just want to make sure we're pass it along. We
are well as opposed to what well? I mean, you know,
(12:43):
there could be some people they're they're working in like
an Arkansas County rodeo fair or something. This isn't This
is high end cowboys and high end cowgirls. I feel
like I'm talking about another category. Aroound them very weird.
But okay, you know that's said. Anything goes Friday very clearly.
What do you what do you want to get into
a deep dive of the Texans Dolphins preview? Why not? CJ.
(13:03):
Stroude protect them the football, throw the ball down the field, touchdown,
let's go. Okay, all right? I mentioned this in just
a minute, Rossie. During this winter meetings, which is as
wrapped up with baseball, I'm obsessed with checking my social
media to find out what's going on with Alex Spregman
(13:24):
and with Kyle Tucker. I mean I woke up probably
two times in the middle of the night just to
see if something had happened. You woke up two times
in the middle of the night to check in on
Kyle Tucker and Alex Bregman their future baseball destinations. Gits
of sleep, Mattie, I can't presents. Opening Day isn't for
(13:45):
four months. I know Spring trending still months away.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
I get it, But honestly, Melitonin, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
I don't know that. I mean, the Textans are going
to beat the Dolphins on Sunday, so they are happy
about that. Yeah they are. You're guaranteeing it. No, I'm
not guaranteeing, But I just have a good feeling. Okay,
week off, they were fresh, they're alive, they know they've
I mean, they've got three games coming up in eleven days.
That's not particularly fair or nice. The next two are
going to be Bears. This this should be the week
(14:16):
they should come out and flex why they're the better
football team. Dolphins just lost four out of I mean,
have one four out of five. Jalen Peatri's hurt. Jewe
Scruggs is hurt, but the Dolphins had to go to
overtime at home to beat the Jets.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
The Texans lost to the Jets.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Oh sorry, I should have used it as a I
didn't think about it that way. I still don't think
the Jets are very good, all right, But you know
you're so I guess what you're telling me is that
your curiosity factory is cool when you're awake and just
doing your normal thing, but you're not thinking. Man, I'm
afraid to look at the phone and see where he's
gonna be going. I will tell you, and perhaps this
(14:55):
is a fault of mine. I'm not losing sleep over
where Alex Bregman is going to I'm not losing sleep.
But I'm just like, I'm very very curious. You're waking
up in the middle of the night. You're losing sleep. Well,
I wake up in the night anyway. Uh yeah, I'm
not that curious about I mean, we'll see when we'll
see when we see I check when I wake up,
right right, right, right, You're you're probably right, but you
(15:19):
know you I get up two three times a night,
and I'm times I have to go to the bathroom.
It just I just get up. I just can't sleep,
Like I woke up this morning in five o'clock Las
Vegas time, wow, and could not go back to sleep well.
And why do you think that is, Matt? Why can't
you sleep through the night? Has this been a problem
for for a little bit of time or is this?
Is this a recent development or would you say this
(15:41):
has been going on for a long time. I feel
like I'm on doctor at RelA Villareal's chair, and I'm
okay with that if you could help me figure that out.
I mean, I don't take any militone and I don't
take any Talono PM. I probably drink too much caffeine
during the course of the day, Okay, I don't have
I don't really have a stress free life. My kids
(16:01):
are I don't really. I mean, what's what's stressing you, Matt?
What's what's causing you this? You ready for today's stress
question of the day? Yes, I am. My wife texted
me about fifteen minutes ago and asked me if it
would be okay if we hired a professional gift raptor
for this Christmas because we have so many gifts and
(16:28):
they're piling up in the front of our house from
all the deliveries from Amazon. Rhyme. Okay, I said, sure,
go ahead, you did. Now how much does this is
the I don't know. If I'm getting stressed, That's what
(16:49):
I'm saying. If that's the biggest stress in my life,
I think I'm doing okay, Okay, that's okay, is better
than it was two months ago. I mean, I'm relatively healthy,
so great. Yeah, your wife is busy at her job
and raising children. No, I mean, well, she's busy doing
on the things. She's very involved with a couple of
skipts that she's waited in. She's involved with Carly's and
a lot of volleyball stuff going on right now. And yeah,
(17:11):
I mean my middle son is applying to graduate school,
so she's working on the acceptance letter in the right
you know, the pager, the right to get in. So
I mean, I trust me, I'm not worried about if
she's sitting around quote unquote eating bond bonds all day.
How many how many gifts are we talking about here, Matt?
I mean, I felt like there's like ten to eleven
(17:32):
packages in front of my house. Okay, but how many gifts?
Is she okay?
Speaker 11 (17:36):
What?
Speaker 2 (17:37):
How does one contact a professional gift wrapper? No, you
can look it up. I bet you could. It would
take you less than ten minutes to find somebody that
could would come. Either you bring their gifts to their
house or they bring you. They come to your house
and his repord gifts. I'm gonna be honest, Matt. This
is the most privileged thing I think I've ever heard of.
It's and I'm not here to pass judgment. I mean,
(17:58):
are you absolutely are ready to pass? Just making a
statement of how I feel? And you know what, tell
me how you feel? How much? How much does this?
Do you mind me asking how much this service costs?
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Is it hourly?
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Is it by package?
Speaker 3 (18:11):
Is it by square footage?
Speaker 2 (18:12):
Of the packages? We did it last year and I
think it costs about three hundred bucks for ten to
eleven packages. I don't know, I mean, I don't know
how many it did it last year, but I know
this year it's about ten to eleven. And you've now
do you go to like gift wrapper dot net? Like,
how do how do you find? I mean I could
(18:34):
ask Santa's helper dot com. You know, little neighborhoods have like, Hey,
I'm looking for some part time holiday work. Oh on
next door gifts? Yeah, kind of that thought. Now, how
do you ensure that they're going to do a good job?
Do you have them do it? While package gifts? Last year?
The gifts looked tight, they were wrapped properly. I'm good.
I was pleased. It looked nice, very nice rippons and
(18:55):
bows and they were okay, sharp edges were taken care of. Now,
I initially I asked you to bring up a stress
or and you brought this up. So is this stressing
you out? Or you think you're okay? Now, that's what
I'm saying, Ross I. I don't have stress. I have
you don't have wonderful don't have stress. I have two
wonderful jobs. You seem stressed out to me. Okay, you
(19:15):
know this musicment? Could you feel better?
Speaker 12 (19:17):
Though?
Speaker 3 (19:17):
That's good for this, I would like you to if
you could just take.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
One deep breath for me, Matt, to the maximum, no, no,
all the way, entail, to the maximum, your life will
possibly hold. This will sound a little weird on already,
but I don't care. Matt. It's about you. It's not
about everyone else. We're here for you. Hold. Oh you
know what I gotta. I gotta real quick take this
(19:40):
lettres mouth off when you shut off your use. I've
been hitting on twelves against the three and it's working.
It's because you're supposed to, Matt. Okay, because people are
looking at me side eye last at the tim I'm like,
shut your bum ass up. Let me Dan tell them
to look it up.
Speaker 8 (19:55):
Matt.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Yeah, not a thirteen against the two, but twelve against
the three. All right, okay, well it sounds like you
are stressed. Man, I'm worried about you. Okay, We're going
to talk to Cliff and Will and see what those
stress levels are. All right, thank you. Ten twenty nine
on the therapeutic radio that is Sports Talk seven ninety.
(20:19):
I want to send a quick shout out to our
listener Ryan. Ryan needs to tell his wife or it
may politely say it, that's excuse me that Santa doesn't
wrap gifts on Christmas. He's very busy dropping off presents
to kids all over the world, and unfortunately he and
his elves and don't have time to wrap all the gifts.
(20:46):
What do you mean? I thought he was asking, so
he's you don't think, just just not giving my too
much information, not knowing who's listening to the show. Just kids,
if you're listening, Santa does not wrap your gifts.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
That's wasn't the question.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
Correct, But that's the kind of thing I mean, yeah,
that wasn't the question asked by Ryan. He should rap
that he should wrap his wife's gifts, and she should
wrap his gifts. But she's wor But they're worried about
the Santa factor. And I was just telling him that
Santa doesn't wrap gifts. Yeah, his elves do. No, they
don't know. Nobody know. Santa and his elves have have
(21:28):
a streamlined their process. They're just they're just dropping the
presents off. They're not wrapping them anymore.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
Why are you paying somebody to rap presents?
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Santa's not coming to our house. Very confusing. Yeah, I'm
not trying to give away too much. Just all the
kids that are out there. Santa if he, if he
brings presidents to you this year, will not have them rap.
He's he's got a lot of gifts to drop off.
All right, let's go to the phone. Since then anything
goes friddy. Uh seven one three two one two five
seven ninety seven one three two one two five, seven
(21:59):
ninety Cliff is in the Woodlands at ten thirty six
on seven Cliff, Good morning to.
Speaker 13 (22:04):
You morning ladies. Hey man, while you're out in Vegas.
Before I get my question, you need to go over
to Ellis Island. It's it's on Colt Street, right behind Valleys.
Excellent breakfast, cheap drinks, best Roolette table in town?
Speaker 2 (22:17):
Is that right? I'm not a roulette player, though, so
I mean, why make what makes that table so good?
Speaker 13 (22:22):
Because the ladies there can't count, so they pay you
when they shouldn't, when they overpay.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Oh okay, so basic fundamental math is not in play.
Basically what you're trying to tell us.
Speaker 13 (22:31):
They're not the they're not the sharpest tools over there,
but well well budgeted place you can get in there,
good breakfast everything.
Speaker 11 (22:39):
Yeah, they've got twenty.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Nice Thank you very much for that.
Speaker 13 (22:42):
All right, here's a question. Got the company party Saturday night?
A couple of hot girls in office. We're having a
white you know, elephant, you know, gifts exchange. Yeah, you
think can be appropriate if I bought something from like
Zone di Eurotica.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
No no, no, no, no no no no no no
no no, Cliff let me. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope,
new new Cliff. Let me tell you. I had a
friend of mine, a very good friend of mine, that
worked for a professional sports team not in Houston, that
they had a white elephant party when she I'll tell
you who she was. She worked for the Saint Louis Rams,
going back this many years, and the boss brought her
(23:17):
a white elephant gift that was largely inappropriate that eventually
cost him his job.
Speaker 8 (23:23):
Well, what am I gonna do?
Speaker 11 (23:24):
Already bought the crotches.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Underwear, okay, and scene just put it on. Yeah, I
was gonna say it goes without saying.
Speaker 11 (23:31):
I got one pair on.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
I bought two when yeas you ripped one.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Yeah, you can't. You can't bring crotchel's underwear to a
company party. That's just not appropriate.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
Well, it depends on the company you work at, treasures
or something.
Speaker 11 (23:43):
Cliff, No, no, no.
Speaker 13 (23:45):
I worked for a construction company, so you know there's a.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
You had a bunch of hot ladies at the construction company.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Hold on, hold on a second. I don't want a
stereotype here, but construction ladies are are worthy of crotchels
underwear that work.
Speaker 13 (23:59):
They don't wear any okay.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
All right, and anything anything goes fine. When my friend
told me about this story that what she got from it,
I was I was like, are you're you're kidding right,
and she goes, no, I'm serious as a heart attack.
She got a how do I put this? No, she
just got a very inappropriate gift and they and the
(24:27):
guy wants to get a toy for Christmas. That's she
did get a toy. People want toy. I mean, everybody
wants a toy for Christmas. M I was not going
to use the word toy like a fire truck or
a hot wheels, Optimist Prime Action figure.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
She got a toy for Christmas.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
She got a toy for Christmas that ultimately cost the
man boss this job. So we'll let you deduce what
that was. Let's talk to uh, Will a much more
important conversation Will and pass it get down to you
know Will. Good more to you.
Speaker 14 (25:01):
Good morning guys. Hey, Yeah, I just wanted to talk
on the Tucker thing. Seems like everybody's really jazzed up
about the idea of a trade or.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
It's kind of assumed at this point that it's gonna happen.
Speaker 14 (25:12):
But I just I hope Dana Brown and people aren't
forgetting we're a little over two years removed from a
World Series title with generally the same roster.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
I mean, they've they they chose to go in this.
Speaker 14 (25:24):
Direction where they're overpaying guys like Hater to stay in
the window. What I don't understand is why I have
no delusions that they're not gonna resign Tucker next year.
But why wouldn't you run this back? Why wouldn't you
overpay for Bregman. Yeah, you're gonna overpay, and you're gonna
be paying him, you know, a lot of money and
probably the twilight of his career. But you got Primal
(25:44):
Tuve for maybe another year or two. This is gonna
be the best chance that they've probably got to win
another World Series if they run it back. Then any
chance they're gonna have with you know, any prospect they're
gonna get or even somebody that they're gonna get to
replace Bregman, I mean, I don't. I just feel like
people are forgetting that, And I'm not sure why it's
beginning to be assumed that they're going to trade Tucker
(26:06):
at this point.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Well, it's a very compelling conversation. You just gave us
and a lot of valid points because even though the
Astros are probably gonna lose pregnant, they are still not
that Vegas is the end all. But Vegas still believes
the Astros are a very good chance and only winning
the American League West, but winning the American League. But
at some point in an organization you have to look
(26:30):
from top to bottoms and forgetting about the twenty six
man roster for a little bit and going where are
we three, four, five years down the road? And I
think what they're saying is we're on the back end
of this championship run and that if we don't do
things to be proactive, that this championship run goes to
a time of despair. Loss is a minor league system
(26:54):
that is still not very good, and it's going to
take us a really, really, really long time to get
back to where we were. The Alyne of Braves in
the late nineties won those division champions year after year
after year after year, and then they had to start
making some hard decisions. They were down for a couple
of years, and now they're back among the top five
or six teams in the National League. And I think
that's what kind of what the Astros are thinking. They
(27:17):
don't want to lose Kyle Tucker in a year for
just a draft pick. He's too valuable of a piece
of commodity. And Ross I don't have an analogy for this,
but you're holding onto something that you're gonna be that
eventually is gonna go away, and before he leaves you,
you want to get a great rate of return. Well,
and that's my simple answer to you is they have
(27:37):
this beautiful stock, this really very valuable portion of their
franchise that they're he's definitely living in one year from now,
and they don't want to be left empty handed.
Speaker 14 (27:48):
Well, let me ask you this, Okay, So would you
trade a legit? I mean, go look at the rest
of the American League there. I mean, the Yankees just
lost Juan Soto.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
The American League is wide open.
Speaker 14 (27:59):
So I'm saying this one year, would you trade this
to get one more World Series title? Would you trade
four or five years of being really bad?
Speaker 2 (28:06):
Thinking? Because I would. I'd rather have that.
Speaker 14 (28:09):
One World Series and start the rebuild next year or
whenever it is then just to you know, trade Tucker
and be mediocre for the next three to four years
while you do some type of soft rebuild. I just
I think they they should, and I don't think it's
gonna happen. I think they're gonna trade Tucker. I think
Bregman's gonna walk, but I would I would overpay for
Bregman at this point to give yourselves one more shot.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
You've already gone.
Speaker 14 (28:33):
All in and keeping this window by trading prospects in
the past, and you know obviously giving up better compensation
picks by signing haters.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
So I don't know.
Speaker 14 (28:42):
I just I would like to see them run up
back one more time. But again I don't think it's
gonna I don't think it's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
But thanks for your time. Thank you, Will Rossie. I mean, again,
what he said makes total sense. I mean, it's not
this is not a bottom dweller team. They just wanted
eight games and they were out in in two games
in the playoffs. It's also not like they're just banging
down the door in there. These these all World World
Series contenders, and Justin Verlander is going to be gone,
(29:08):
and I mean you still have Fromber as your ace
and Hunter Brown as well, but then it's Renel Blanco,
a Spencer, Riic Getty, Luis Garcia. We'll see what happens
with that. And then from a position players standpoint, I
mean they trotted out Jonathan Singleton, Alex Bregman is gonna
be gone. It's gonna be what Shay Wickham and Zach Dezenzo.
Jake Myers is just a guy unfortunately in center field.
(29:30):
I don't even know what I will argue with the
will Is is that will thinks that the Astros are
close to the World Series than perhaps Sman I do.
It's jose L two vey were He's already at the
back of the end of his prime. It's unfortunate to
say that, but look at the significant slippage in his
OPS numbers last year. And he was also the worst
defensive second basement by the numbers, not by my opinion,
by the numbers, the worst second baseman in baseball defensively.
(29:54):
So I don't think L two Ba is not in
al Twoba prime. He is on the back third of
his career. He doesn't mean he can't play, doesn't mean
he can't get one hundred and fifty hits for you,
doesn't mean he can't play six days a week. For
you on a regular basis. But they're still good, but
they're not great. He's making it sound like they won
one hundred games and we're in the World Series last year.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
That's not where they were.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
But he's saying that Soto's gone, the Yankees could be
a little more vulnerable, which I don't know if that's
in necessarily the case. He's still have got a prim
prime squad. I'm just saying I don't want to give
you the long response to the quick question, Rossie. I
don't want five years of it, ninety five losses. And
I think if you are proactive with moving Frober Valdez
(30:38):
and Kyle Tucker and getting a new third baseman here
that's not a guy that's a year away, then you
bring Melton in a year from now, you bring in
Matthews a year from now, who are will be ready
to go instead of forcing them up here earlier before
they should be. I think you're set up for more
long term, sixteen sustained success, and I think that's what
the Astros are thinking as well. And I also think
they're thinking they want to stay away from being in
(31:01):
the luxury tax for a second straight year.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
Jim Crane. The first time he ever did it was
last year.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
And they also don't only stuck, but giving up getting
two first round picks for two. I mean, Tucker is
an elite number one, number two free agent player. Next
year Bregman is top five or six. Because of the market,
they don't want to be stuck with two picks that
may not do anything they want. They want a little
bit more of a proven commodity, at least guys that
have been at the professional level of the minor leagues
(31:28):
that are like, yes, these guys are in a fast
track to becoming major league baseball players.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
And quick correction for up myself.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
They they did go into the tax during the COVID year,
but that was also they didn't have to pay tax
that year. Everybody was exempt. So he's only paid tax
one year. And we'll see if he wants to do
it again. They did it with the Hater deal because
their backs were against the wall. They lost a lot
of relievers. But I'm curious to see if it will
happen again. I just I don't think it will all right.
Seven one three two one two five seven ninety seven
(31:55):
to one three two one two five seven ninety we
take this program to two o'clock. It's ten forty six.
Matt here in Vegas, Ross Beck and Houston, we thank
you for being a part of Anything Goes Friday at
seven one, three, two, one two five, seven ninety.
Speaker 10 (32:08):
More Matt Thomas Show with Ross Now but Sports Talk
seven ninety.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Kidding up some emails my buddy Scott, send him us
an email. I want to make sure we're very clear
on a couple of things. Not that anyone has directly
told me this, but I'm an I'm an educated observer.
I don't get everything right, but I feel like I
get some things right. When it comes to the local
teams in his town, Kyle Tucker has made no indication
(32:39):
that the Houston Astros are his long term destination after
his contract is over worth There has been no I
can't wait to get in the room with Jim Crane
and Dana Brown and work this out. He knows the
track record of the Houston Astros organization is I want
to go and I want to play somewhere where they're
going to pay me the guy amount of money of
(33:01):
thirty five million dollars a year for seven or eight years,
and if he performs like he has for the most
part of his last handful of years as a major leaguer.
He's going to get that he's a true six year
first time free agent. If was no arbitration, bought out,
bought out, there was no extra years added on, he
will be a true free agent for the first time
in his major league career with six years of service time.
(33:23):
He wants to go make that serious cash and the
Astros just don't do that. So this whole thought of
let's hang on one more year for this when the
team probably needs him and others to have those awesome
years of a couple of years ago, that's a huge,
huge risk when you know in your heart that he
doesn't want to be here. He doesn't not like the Astros,
(33:44):
he doesn't not like the organization, he doesn't not like Houston, Texas.
He's not looking to go play in a colder city
or a city closer to his home in Florida. He's
just he wants to go where someone is ready to
write that big blank check at the house. Aren't wanting
to blot right, and that's an indictment against the Astros.
Then you take it up with them, But very few
(34:06):
teams are right in these holatiously big checks. It's the
New York's, it's the LAS, it's frankly, the two New
York teams, the Dodger teams, and maybe a team here
and there that I'm not bringing up. That's one thing, Okay,
So holding on for a hope for one more year,
to let him go away for a one year for
a first round draft pick, not even a high first
round draft pick, just a first round draft pick. That's
(34:27):
that's that's too risky of a calculation of of a
of a guess. And then the other thing. Again, this
is just me being highly educated, but nobody's saying, Matt,
here's how we officially feel. I don't know if they
completely trust from ber Valdez making ridiculous amounts of money
in his first free agent contract, knowing that there are
(34:52):
sometimes that he has uh imploded, that sometimes the mental
makeup is not one hundred percent all the way there. Now,
as Ross is brought up on so different occasions this year,
he has lied this past season. He has remained cool
and calm for the most part, but there have been times,
and you guys have all seen it, where he doesn't
look like he is the give me the damn ball.
(35:13):
I'll go three, throw a eight innings, and nothing's gonna
get into my way. There have been things that have
gotten in his way. He has been perturbed by strike
calls or non strike calls, or giving up a base
hit or a home runner defensive play. And I think,
if I'm gonna put twenty five thirty million dollars in
front of a player per year, he's got to check
all the boxes. And I don't know if in the
(35:35):
Astros' minds checks all the boxes. And that's the reason
why his name should be also discussed in trade conversation,
because again, you do not want to be held a
year from now with those two guys leaving you, and
now you're rebuilding off of guys that will not be
a major leaguer for at least probably three years, three
(35:56):
or four years. This is my take on it. Yeah,
it boils down to where the future of the franchise is.
And I understand, like we had the caller that says, look,
why don't they just run it back? Why don't they
keep these guys? Why don't I like, well, uh, I
mean they could try and do that, but are you
contenders right now? And then if you pay Alex Bregman
right now, where does that leave you in several years?
(36:18):
And that's what I think. If you pay Bregman, by
the way, where's this extra fund's gonna be for Kyle
Tucker and Frober Valdez to get there? Money gonna be nowhere.
So that's why I am on board with what we've
been talking about basically all week long, and what seems
to be at least the case in Kyle Tucker. We
haven't heard much of anything about Fromber as far as
(36:39):
he is on the table, but I think it would
take a little bit. Well, probably the market's not as
hot for Enid let's put it that way. Uh, and
probably whys for the reasons you explained, And so just
just move, Just move Tucker. I would say move Fromber too,
if you could get something for him. I mean, again,
I'm not excited about this. I don't want to give
(37:01):
off the impression that, oh, by Kyle down at the
door hitting the ass. I'm not saying that. I'm saying
that it's going to be painful, but I'm not overly
encouraged about seeing Kyle Tucker playing one more year for
the Astros. Leaving and then thinking about having to replace
him in others for the next four to five years
when you can go get a couple of high end
(37:21):
and again, I don't know what that's going to be.
The Hall may not be as spectacular as you think
it is, because I remember, he is a free agent
after next year, So anybody that tries to take him
is taking him on a one year hope that he
stays with that team that he gets traded to. So
no guarantees on that either. Yeah, go ahead, and you
don't have enough pieces right now to me to be
(37:42):
a contender with the assumption that the very easy assumption
that Alex Bregman is gone. The reality is the next
five years for this Astros organization, you need to sure
up third base, first base, center field, left field. And
I'm assuming that you're on is primarily dh and at
(38:04):
least two fifths of your starting rotation at least, if
not more, there Dana Brown and this Astros organization has
work to do. You might as well get started now. Yeah,
we'll get another year of sample size. If it is
Hunter Brown really going to be an ACE level guy.
Can Renel Blanco repeat what he did? Can Spencer Righetti
improve what happens when Havier comes back? I mean the
(38:27):
arms is Luis Garcia. I mean, is the starting pitcher
game a fourth five guy. I think if you're asking
him to do that, I think he can do that.
But also again I mean can he stay healthy. He
of course had the setback, he had the Tommy John
surgery and then this setback. So yeah, we got a
lot of questions, a lot of questions, and you can
fill up those some of those answers to questions by
making a couple of significant moves to get that process
(38:50):
started a little bit faster. Second hour the Matt Thomas Show,
with Ross coming up in a matter of moments. We
have the Rotten five. In thirty minutes, we have the
Will Wake the Stripers up at twelve noon. We got
doctor Rode with us today at one o'clock. Normally with
us on Thursdays, but he's got a family situation, so
we were able to accommodate to moving him today until
one seven one three two one two five seven ninety.
(39:11):
If you want to jump in seven to one three
two one two five seven hoety. Also Ross and I
will make our predictions on the Texans Dolphins game for
Sunday after we start the second hour The Matt Thomas
Show with Ross next on seven ninety launchtimers.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
This is the Matt Thomas Show, eleven oh.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
One in the Houston, second hour of four of The
Matt Thomas Show with Ross. Matt here from Las Vegas,
Ross back in our Houston studios. We wake the strippers up.
In a one hour from now. We will have Doctor Roto.
We mentioned it to at one o'clock today, we have
non Flours stories at one thirty. We got the Rotten
Five coming up in a half an hour, and we
have Texans and Dolphins Sunday at twelve noon inside in
(39:53):
our g Stadium where the Texans with their win and
the Indianapolis loss at Den for Ross battle Red Ross.
You will be another AFC South champion.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
That'd be great.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
So you're saying this is a must win game this
weekend for the Houston at all, Far from it. Just wondering.
You're always trying to catch me, just like Week eleven
against the Cowboys was a must win. So I'm just
wondering if this was po okay at least at last,
at least clinched the division in this one. So yeah, yeah,
uh yeah, I don't you know. To me, Miami is
(40:30):
playing a lot better. They're trying to hold on for
dear life. They're gonna need to probably win out and
get some help to get in the playoffs. But you know,
I was, and I hate doing this, but I was
looking at the ESPN before the show started. What is see?
What was screaming a Smith saying, well, it was one
of those uh graphics, like you know, I had the Texans.
(40:53):
I don't know exactly what it was. Was basically, is
c J. Stroud ready to help this team out in
the next few weeks? Ever, body's really working about the schedule?
Three games in eleven days, three games in eleven games,
three tough games in eleven days. And by the way,
I don't want to hear the NFL tell me about
any sort of safety protocols and feeling better. They don't care.
(41:13):
They don't. It's about the bottom line. I mean, it's frankly,
if you're going to put teams on a Christmas game,
which is Wednesday, they showed the week off before they
really should I mean, just say that out loud again.
A Wednesday football football game. What it's really embarrassing and
(41:36):
I know you can't have a bye week or an
off week this late in the season. I understand it. Then,
you know what, just don't here here, listen to me.
Don't take the ten million that Netflix gave you. Forget
what I said. They're taking it, Yes they are. It's
(41:56):
it's it's really unfair. I mean, the NFL game is
we all know, is a brutal, brutal physically and mentally
taxing game. You need a day to recuperate, you need
a day to kind of get your legs moving again.
I mean, practices are stacker in terms of the intensity.
They really go at it hard Wednesdays and Thursdays a
little bit. On Fridays they don't even really get on
the field except to run up and down the field.
(42:18):
On Saturdays, you're taking out, You're trying to squeeze it in,
and it's just and ultimately, I mean, look at the game.
I don't know what would the Rams and Niners game
been any better if they had a full week. I mean,
I gotta think that twelve six would not have been
the score this Sunday. If if the Rams and Niner
would have played.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
Yesterday, I would have to guess, yes, and think about this.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
Wasn't that Green baited trade game awesome? Like, yes, previous Thursday.
You know why they had a full week off because
they put the previous Thursday.
Speaker 3 (42:49):
Well, we still watch. I'm gonna be watching on Christmas.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
I'm gonna complain about it all I want, and I'm
gonna be watching you on Netflix. That's all they about.
It's simply the same hypocrisy that we have about College
Next Nile and the transfer portal carrying crush in the industry. No,
we're start watching the games industry seems fine and as expected.
Roger Goodell, I think within the last forty eight hours
starting putting together a very slow implementation of the eighteen
(43:16):
game schedule. It's gonna happen. You knew where that was
gonna happen. The players have to agree to that, right
they will. Yeah, we'll see more to happen.
Speaker 3 (43:29):
Slice of the Pie.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Yeah, eighteen weeks is gonna happen. You're gonna give You're
gonna give each team two bye weeks. Rosst we've been
looking bye weeks. Oh yeah, I think we'll be looking
at like in a mid February super Bowl. I really
think so.
Speaker 3 (43:43):
Yeah, I think I have to put a push into March.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
Coming up next Astros Marlin Spring training game, then Super
Bowl fifty seven or whatever number it is. Who knows
down the road. Uh, I think we're gonna I still
said this before. I don't if it was a gut feeling.
We don't have to tell the truth. I have a
sneaky suspicion everybody's gonna have to go play overseas once
a year two, Like it's gonna be obligatory for every
team to play one game overseas. They might they might
(44:10):
come with the eighteen game thing and then you pair
it with a bye week or something. Did I lose you? No?
Can you hear me? Hi?
Speaker 3 (44:25):
Okay, apparently Matt cannot.
Speaker 2 (44:27):
Matt? Can you hear me? You're so great and talented
and wonderful. You're such a fantastic host, and I mean,
I just look up to you.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
So much in my career.
Speaker 2 (44:36):
What dang?
Speaker 3 (44:40):
Did you hear any of what I just said?
Speaker 2 (44:42):
No? Are you serious?
Speaker 7 (44:44):
No?
Speaker 2 (44:44):
I really didn't, didn't you. I have a zero idea
what you said? Okay? U?
Speaker 3 (44:53):
Yeah, go ahead, and been talking about the Texans.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
We were talking.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
I know what I was saying. When when I guess
you lost me the eighteen week schedule.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
I guess you would have to get if they make
you play overseas once, then they would you would pair
it with a second by a week or I don't
know what they would. No, you would still do what
you're doing uneven Like one year you'd have nine home games,
the next year you'ld have eight. It's terrible. I'm just
throwing that out there. But you know, Ross, well, they've
run out of money here in the United States to
put these games. They might as well go overseas.
Speaker 3 (45:23):
They an't run out of money. But I'm saying clearly.
Speaker 2 (45:29):
They've dominated this market so much that they're looking for Yeah, Berlin, Australia, Mexico.
Speaker 3 (45:37):
Capitalist imperialism is what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (45:39):
All right, let's go back to what I missed.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
What do you mean? And I didn't say anything. I
was just wondering where you were.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
I was wondering where I was too, And I came
back from start laughing. I could I could hear you.
You were saying, hello, do I did I lose you?
So we could hear you? So thank you for not cursing. Well,
I've learned because I've cursed before, and so I wanted
to make sure I didn't say anything. Okay, so you
were saying something derogatory about me, then.
Speaker 3 (46:05):
I didn't say that. I wouldn't say that.
Speaker 2 (46:07):
Okay, Then you know what, I'm lucky. I'm lucky that
you didn't thank you very much for being nice while
I was going for that twenty seconds. I don't believe
you don't go back and listen to podcast. Speaking of that, Okay,
can we brag on iHeartRadio for a minute. I mean,
there are bosses and everything. What happened? They have a
brand new the app has been updated.
Speaker 3 (46:24):
Oh really yes, okay, live radio.
Speaker 2 (46:28):
Dial, there's presets you can scan, there's lyrics to your
favorite songs. If you want to find your favorite radio
stations like I always have sports talk cementing on wherever
I am across this country. If you have a favorite artist,

And maybe at Crocket season I'll start to be ran
new second season of Plinkos and Power bombs.
Speaker 3 (47:03):
That's what I want to hear. That's what the people
have been demanding.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
Game show, wrestling mix. Okay, that seems fair.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
It seems amazing.
Speaker 2 (47:10):
Man, I've heard some of the other podcasts out there.
I wouldn't be any worse than what I've heard. It
be any worse. No. Seven one three two five seven
seven one three two two five seventy Can the Texans
Rossie I mentioned this earlier in the week. Can the
Texans win a game in which the winning team has
to score thirty points? Or is that a detriment to
the Texans because the Dolphins offense looks a little more
prolific these last few weeks. Have the Texans scored thirty
(47:34):
points all year? Seriously, I'll go look it up. Okay,
forty one against the Patriots, thirty four against the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (47:42):
But there was a pick six in there?
Speaker 2 (47:44):
Right? Was there a pick six in the in against
the Patriots? I don't remember. Oh, everybody scored against the Patriots, right, yes, well,
including the Mario Douglas and Kaishan Booty. Uh Nico goes
for a touchdown in the game. Tank Dell goes for
a touchdown of the game. Wow, a tight end will
(48:07):
score in this game. John Whu Smith, Well, I mean,
oh you meant, you meant with teams. That's unfair to
you to do that. Joe Mixon does not score in
the game. I'm gonna tell you, I'm a little scared
of the Dolphins, Matt. They've won four of their last five.
The offense is playing a lot better. Tyreek Hill has
(48:27):
had good weeks the last couple of weeks. Tuatugo Blowa
is staying upright. Where's the Ramsey Who's gonna cover on?
It's go one on one against Collins the whole time.
Speaker 3 (48:36):
I don't know if they do shadow coverage. I can't recall.
Speaker 2 (48:39):
I don't think that they do travel Jalen Ramsey around. Okay,
but the the cornerback on the other side is good
there with the Dolphins whose name is escaping me at
the moment, but they they've got a pretty solid Their
defense isn't great, but they've got some good players. Yeah. Uh,
I you know what needs to have a big game
too and help me if if if maybe kindle fl
(49:03):
the other corner he's pretty solid. Is will Anderson Junior
do for a oh hell yeah game? Yeah, it'd be nice.
And I mentioned this with our guests yesterday. Alejandro, Yeah,
Alejandro Solano. Watching TUIs still makes me very nervous. And
(49:25):
I have no dog in the fight. I'm not a
Dolphins fan. I'm not necessarily even a tour fan. I'm
just a I don't want him to be really hurt again.
But you know, he he knows what he's going and
he he knows the risk he's taking. Correct. I mean,
there's no he's not getting bad advice.
Speaker 3 (49:43):
Yeah, he very much wants to be out there.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
So maybe Will Anderson just should like the touch flag
football to below, but you know, tub below with him,
because don't. I don't want him hurt. He's out there,
he's in between the lines. You know what if it is,
what happens, it happens, and he knows it. Okay. Maybe,
So he's got all the money in the world he needs.
It doesn't necessarily, you know, need anything else. I mean, look,
(50:10):
there's sole a lot of money for him to make
in his NFL career, and he's still very good. I mean,
I watched that overtime game against the Jets. At least
the overtime session. They can move the football down the.
Speaker 3 (50:17):
Field, twenty five years ago we would even be talking
about this.
Speaker 2 (50:21):
I know, I know, but Will Anderson needs to have
a bigger game. It feels like to me because again
al Shaher is not not available out there. You've got
no Peatri, You're losing a couple of your hard hitters.
I think pass rush in making Tua as uncomfortable as
possible and frankly getting him. He's really good in the pocket,
wouldn't you agree? Yes? And on time improvising, Well, if

What's on, Matt? How are you stop? Wait a minute?
Where's there?
Speaker 8 (53:08):
There?
Speaker 2 (53:09):
It is? Show all right, I'm here to save the show.
Speaker 15 (53:14):
What kind of weird device is next to your bed
in your hotel room?
Speaker 2 (53:18):
I was just about to ask Ross at Ross look
at my Twitter account at sports MT. I just took
a photo of something that's next to my bed. Can
you name what it is? Is that a massage gun.
Speaker 3 (53:28):
It is a massage gun. Okay, what's the problem.
Speaker 2 (53:33):
I've never in my entire life had a gun next
to my bed. Kind of crazy ass.
Speaker 3 (53:39):
So how'd you like it?
Speaker 2 (53:41):
I mean, it didn't hurt. So I'm gonna assume job done. Ross.
Speaker 15 (53:46):
I'm gonna assume you're not staying at Lacina Circus, Circa Circus, circ.
Speaker 3 (53:55):
El Cortez.
Speaker 2 (53:57):
No, we're on the strip. You're on the strip, Strip,
Strip Strip, New York, New York. Nope. Harras nope, EXCaliber Nope.
You guys are zero for three. Stop guessing. Not happening. Okay,
I just I just know that I'm in a swanky
hotel when there is a massage gun sitting there for
your for your personal use. Yeah, that's Look, you don't
(54:18):
want to touch anything in a in a Vegas hotel room.
Speaker 3 (54:20):
You certainly don't want to touch that thing.
Speaker 2 (54:23):
Oh, I think it's I think this is a very
clean hotel. I have zero issues about the Okay, nothing
unclean has ever happened in a hotel. Come on now,
all right, all right, well you know what, I kind
of like this thing, this Gordon little drive by every
day is kind of fun. I don't know what you're
bringing to the table. I mean, I think you clearly
could add more to whatever Ross is bringing.
Speaker 15 (54:41):
I just I think we need to pump the brakes
a little bit Astros fans on what we're what we're
demanding or asking for some of these trade scenarios, like
the one that Chandler floated out there yesterday on you know,
with the Cubs for Kyle Tucker trade. He float out there, Suzuki,
the al failer who's awesome, the uh uh per esak paratus,
(55:02):
the infielder who the askers tried to get the trade
deadline last year, but the Cubs get it to get
a better offer. And their third base prospect, what's the
kid's name. He's like one of the best third base
prospects out there. But like immediately as soon as I
got floated out there, like people in the know what
the Cubs put out there, No no, no, no, no, you
ain't getting all three.
Speaker 2 (55:21):
You get two maybe, but you ain't getting all three.
Speaker 15 (55:24):
What Astros fans aren't realizing Matt is like, this is
a one year rental of Kyle talk.
Speaker 2 (55:29):
Right, so you're this king's ransom.
Speaker 15 (55:31):
You think you're gonna get you ain't gonna get, so
you know, it starts to becoming. This is where Dana
Brown is really in a rut. Is it better to
just take one more year of Kyle Tucker and let's
go chase a championship this year with him in the
lineup every day?
Speaker 2 (55:46):
Or Okay, I'm not gonna.
Speaker 15 (55:48):
Get the King's ransom, but I get something knowing he'd
be a free agent next year.
Speaker 2 (55:52):
Anyway, I think some people are trying to decide what
the value is. Run it back one more and get
a draft pick, or go get two or three guys,
because I think my guess is, Gordy, whatever Kyle Tucker
brings back in return, it's gonna be a combination of people.
It won't be just just a player for player situation.
Ross and I've already gone on the record, we're saying
(56:14):
that I don't want to be stuck handing that with
a first round draft pick that may not see the
field for four or five years, or for that matter
ever for the Astros, if I can at least get
some guys that have some sort of track record and
a professional organization at the minor league level that is
on a projected path where major League says, twenty twenty six,
I'd take one down year to know that twenty twenty six.
(56:35):
I'm beating my chest going I got a pretty good
shot here of having two to three new Major league
ready guys in my starting lineup.
Speaker 15 (56:43):
Well, I mean, what was so appealing about that package
that Chandler floated out? Like Saya Suzuki is thirty years old,
but he's an awesome outfielder out of two eighty three
last year, twenty one home runs driven seventy three, Like
he plugs it right into Kyle Tucker's spot in the outfield.
So you make up for that uh Istak paradis. You
have some flexibility. He could play third or first, so
(57:06):
if you lose Bregman, he could just take over at third.
And then the cam Smith kid who was crushing it
last year, I think I think it was a double
air triple A with the Cubs. Like he's knocking on
the door. He'd had a two thirteen last year in
the miners Like that kid could be here very soon,
and then if he's ready to go at third base,
you could slide Paritas over to first. You answer, you
(57:26):
answered three different holes right there, I'll film first and third,
in a in a world where you trade Tucker and
you let Bregman walk so and this thing sustains, there's
no you know, there's a little drop off, but not
a ton of drop off in that. Oh we're rebuilding
now so again, but you got I mean, the Cubs
would have to pull the trigger on that. If you're
the Cubs, why are you gonna do that for Kyle
Tucker knowing he's gonna be a free agent? Like you
(57:48):
almost have to get that long term contract worked out
ahead of time before the trades made.
Speaker 2 (57:54):
And I don't know, guys, can they legally do that?
Can Can Kyle and the Cubs hammer something out before
trade is even done?
Speaker 15 (58:01):
There's been there's been trades in recent years where there's
been people have agreed to Hey, if you're trading for
my guy, a long term contract must be in the works.
Speaker 2 (58:11):
Well, but put it this way, though, if you're Kyle Tucker,
why would you want to do that? Why would you
assume that the Cubs are going to give you the
best deal out there? When maybe you have a great
season in Chicago, you bat three twenty five with thirty
five forty bombs, then you go say all right, Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, Mariners, Angels,
anybody else. Braves, come get me. Why would you want
(58:32):
to sign you? Why would you want to sign a
deal now when you've been thirsting for this opportunity to
be a free agent for the first time in your
manor league career.
Speaker 15 (58:39):
And also are they are they a postseason team next year?
Speaker 2 (58:42):
The Cups? I don't know them well if they have
that answer, I mean, I just know that you're gonna
get Gordy. Here's my thought on this and Ross jump
in on this one. My thought is you're going to
get better value today on Kyle Tucker than you would
be with a imaginary first round picker. Right at this point,
I would think it, Yeah, first of all, with short term,
(59:05):
short term with the first round pick. It would depend,
of course, but I thought you were also going to
go maybe to waiting to the deadline and at which
point you might be in a position. I don't think
you do that because you're position to be in the OS.
But there's a lot of buyers of the deadline, or
at least there have been the last couple of years
(59:25):
because the addition of the extra wild cards. So I
think right now the president would be Je Soto being
traded to the Yankees with one year left, and that
was a really smash deal that the Padres got. And
then the Mookie Betts trade from the Red Sox to
the Dodgers, where the Red Sox I think Alex Verdugo
ended up being the best result of that of that
(59:49):
trade Red Sox wise, and it wasn't necessarily a great
trade at the end of the day for the Red Sox.
Speaker 15 (59:55):
Yeah, guys, the Yankees just spent some more money. They
are finalizing a deal to acquire Devin Williams, the Milwaukee
Burrs closer. This is the guy who was hurt last year,
only had fourteen saves, but the year prior thirty six
saves back in twenty twenty three, really really good closer.
Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
From the Burrs. How much money is he making? Jeff
Pesson has not put out the details. Okay, well the
trade you said, Oh, you said a signing or you
said a choir, So I don't know that means they're signed.
Is he a free agent or do they trade? Hmm,
looks like a he's under contract team option. Did the
team option get picked up? I don't know. I'm looking
(01:00:31):
at the Baseball Reference Page. That'd be ten million dollars
for one year of Devin Williams. According to Jim Bowden,
the Phillies have offered Nick Castelenos and Alex Baum boom
bomb you pronounced boom boom, Alec Boum for Kyle Tucker.
The Astros to Clian that offer, hmm, two major league
(01:00:52):
ready guys. Guys have been there before.
Speaker 15 (01:00:54):
Yeah, but you got to get a young guy in
there too. I need some kind of prospect, but I.
Speaker 2 (01:00:59):
Would love a starter because you got you got two spots.
You get to fill in your infield, Gordion. How many
teams did want to win have two spots they get
to fill much less one? Alek Bom has been an
All Star. He was an All Star last year, played
against the Astros in the World Series. Yeah he got better.
He's good, Like he's really good right now in his prime. Yeah,
let me see what he's Alec Boom. Oh, Well he's
(01:01:20):
an arbitration for for until twenty twenty six, so you'd
be getting two years of boom Okay, do you let
these dry buys with Gordia or I mean, I know
he's got plenty of radio appearances in Southeastern market across
the country. But I don't mind these little gad that's great.
I'm tired.
Speaker 15 (01:01:35):
You can let him talk anytime you get You can
call me at two am.
Speaker 2 (01:01:37):

What if I want to talk about that? How many
are there? There's only one? It's New Year's He will
make it the best. Then it's such a good bowl
game that nobody else wants to compete against it. New
Year's Eve, two thirty.
Speaker 15 (01:01:56):

the free iHeartRadio app. All right, those are you on
hoole want to get into the Astros? We will get
to you in mere moments. It is the Matt Thomas
(01:03:04):
Show with Ross Matt here from Las Vegas. It's in
Anything Goes Friday seven one three two one two five
seven aunties. How you reach a radio program seven one
three two one two five seven nine zero. It takes
absolutely no ability whatsoever to give you the five best
teams in the National Football League. It's just not very
much work. It takes time, it takes effort, or it
(01:03:27):
takes at least ten minutes. For Ross to give you
his rotten five. They've gone there. Hey they draw flies,
it's Ross's rotten five. This don't smell quite right. Oh
my goodness, Matthew, the way is over. The Rotten five
(01:03:50):
folks is finally here. Welcome back, also, not only the
Rotten five, but also welcome back the New York Jets
to the less.
Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
They have lost three games in a row.
Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
They're now eliminated from the playoffs. How about those New
York Jets starting off with those playoff aspirations this year
and Aaron Rodgers back from his torn achilles and then
they traded for Devonte Adams.
Speaker 3 (01:04:18):
Well, the Jets have been horrible. They have lost four
games in a row.
Speaker 2 (01:04:23):
They have also lost nine of their last ten, the
only win coming against the Texans. And we'll have a
start a pattern here on the list. With that, the
New York Jets have not made the playoffs in thirteen years.
They are the fifth worst team in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (01:04:40):
Well, I mean, I've been.
Speaker 13 (01:04:41):
Here, I've started one year, so I'm part of it
for one year.
Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
It's disappointed.
Speaker 3 (01:04:46):
Oh, we take accountability, Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (01:04:48):
All right? Moving along.
Speaker 16 (01:04:49):
The good news is the Jacksonville Jaguars won their third
game of the season.
Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
The bad news is that was stupid. How can you get.
Speaker 16 (01:04:56):
Further and further away from a pent potential number one
overall pick. Jacksonville Jags beating the Titans in an ugly,
terrible NFL game, But what do they really gain?
Speaker 3 (01:05:06):
Trevor Lawrence out for the year.
Speaker 2 (01:05:07):
Mac Jones is terrible anyways, Doug Peterson probably on his
way out as the head coach of the team.
Speaker 3 (01:05:14):
The Jaguars also just bad.
Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
They're twenty six in the point per game, twenty eighth
in points allowed, really nothing left to play for this season.
They do have an extremely soft schedule, so will they
make the mistake of winning up more games against the Jets, Raiders, Titans,
and Colts. But should they even try? Probably not. They
only have three wins. They're the fourth worst team in
the NFL.
Speaker 17 (01:05:35):
And I was in Miami win my new beach shoals. Well,
it was a couple minutes from the beat.
Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
What where's that been?
Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
Jaguars Lady is my favorite.
Speaker 17 (01:05:47):
And I was in Miami win my new beach shoals. Well,
it was a couple minutes from the beat.
Speaker 2 (01:05:56):
I just love the Jaguars In this list so I
can continue to play Jaguar lady. All right, let's keep
it rolling. The Tennessee Titans, I mean I normally put
you ahead of the Jaguars.
Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
But you just lost to them. What was that on Sunday?
Ten to six?
Speaker 2 (01:06:09):
By the way, I don't think that one's getting sent
to Canton losing to the Jaguars. That badly. Come on, man,
bad football being played in Nashville. The awful Titans have
lost four of the last five games, and well, much
like the Jets, the only win in that stretch coming
against the Texans. Will Levis and Thomas Sports Enterprise is
how we feel, and he did not look so hot
(01:06:30):
over the weekend. The Tennessee Titans, I mean, they are
just absolutely awful. The AFC South. You're noticing a pattern.
They are terrible, and the Tennessee Titans are the third
worst team in the NFL.
Speaker 6 (01:06:43):
It's like deja vu saw twice in a row shooting
ourselves in the foot.
Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
I know, I know, Will. All right, congratulations to the
Las Vegas Raiders. We're so proud of you. You're almost there.
You've lost nine in a row, You're one away from
losing at ten Nrow, Desmond Ritter, and cciri. Since McCormick
leading the way for the Las Vegas Raiders, is that
what we're going with now? I mean Aiden O'Connell, Gardner, Minshew,
(01:07:07):
Desmond rid or what is going on with Las Vegas?
I don't like their coach Antonio Pears either. They're way,
way too conservative when it comes to field goal and
fourth down decisions. They don't play much of anything except
for some defense. A common theme on this list the
Raiders with the mess at the quarterback position, and well,
things are just not great for the Las Vegas Raiders,
(01:07:30):
who continue to lose and lose and lose. Will they
get ten in a row? As far as losses this
week we shall find out.
Speaker 3 (01:07:37):
But as of right now, the Raiders are terrible.
Speaker 2 (01:07:40):
They are the second worst team in the NFLS all right.
Moving along, the losses continue to pile up for the
New York Football Giants. Eight games in a row they've
now lost, latest of which was an ugly, ugly game
against the New Orleans Saints that included a total of
twenty five points. The Giants offense is terrible, despite Tyro
Tracy and Malik Neighbors being impact players. Uh, they're going
(01:08:04):
from Daniel Jones to Tommy DeVito to Drew Locke, who's
now hurt. Looks like it's gonna be Tommy DeVito again.
I mean, what a mess over there in New York
or excuse me, East Rutherford, New Jersey. But Giants might
not have a win left on the schedule. They take
on the Ravens, then the Falcons and the Colts and
then the Eagles in the last week of the year,
so they.
Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
May stay right where they are.
Speaker 2 (01:08:22):
They are the absolute worst team in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (01:08:26):
The fucks more than anything that I've ever fucked before.
Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
And there's your run in five. There's no way the
Raiders should be bad. I just drove. We drove by
their stadium yesterday. It is a palace.
Speaker 3 (01:08:39):
Yeah, Desmond Ritter plays in that palace.
Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
Matt. They are bad. They're really bad.
Speaker 3 (01:08:45):
Two and eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
I think the Raiders are gonna go for a gang
buster amazing hire. I mean, and again I have no
inside intelligence on this. I just think that if you're
the Raiders and you are trying to sell the sexonist
that is Las Vegas, and granted you don't have much
(01:09:09):
of a roster, you need a new quarterback, for sure.
They've got to go get somebody that people recognize. They
just can't get some hot end, you know, hot coordinator
that is just you know, turn it. I mean, don't
you have to go pick from the Detroit Lions tree. Basically,
I have a question for you that I don't exactly
have an answer for you, all right, which, by the way,
(01:09:30):
we're agreeing that Antonio Peers is not the guy. No.
Has there been a situation where there's been an interim coach,
the team plays well, and the players all really give
them a big vote of confidence, and then the the
organization it's like Ben's backwards, like, okay, fine, we'll keep
the interim guy. You guys want to keep them. This
was the case with the Antonio Peers and it worked out.
(01:09:51):
I feel like I can come up with so many times,
so many examples of when it didn't work out well.
The number one thing I can think of is, where
was Rome Cornell a interim coach and then got the job.
Wasn't it Cleveland and it was a disaster? Yeah, it
was Jim tom Sulla. Wasn't he like interim coach or something?
Speaker 8 (01:10:09):
Or No?
Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
Was it Mike Singletary. Was it Mike Singletary and with
the forty nine ers or was it both of them?
Jeff's Saturday with the Colts.
Speaker 3 (01:10:16):
Jeff Saturday, Well, it was an interim in the heat
of that day.
Speaker 2 (01:10:19):
What he's saying is is the guy that takes the
interim job gets the head coaching job and it still fails.
Rodney Terry and on Texas Longhorns. Why because I don't
want to admit it. M interim coach that wind up
being awesome. Now, Jeff Fisher was the interim coach the Orders.
I wound up having a long term career there with
(01:10:40):
both the Orders and Titans. Yeah, but I mean they
made one Super Bowl. Yeah, I guess that that's a
good one. That's a success.
Speaker 3 (01:10:47):
It doesn't it seem like nine times out of tenant fails.
Speaker 2 (01:10:50):
Yeah. Yeah, Yeah. Interim coach that gets there and just
because everybody's like they they look a little bit better,
They get excited, the players buy in and they're like,
you got to keep this guy a coach, and then
they fall flat on their face, like the Raiders are
right now with Antonio Piers. We'll put your everybody put
their thing caps on. Say if you have an example.
Speaker 3 (01:11:08):
Tweaks to add sports Empty and sports Harvey too.
Speaker 2 (01:11:11):
Okay, all right, let's go to Johnny north Houston at
eleven forty seven one.
Speaker 4 (01:11:16):
Hi Johnny, also, guys, he just wanted to ask about
jord On Alvarez. I mean, if we're losing some of
these guys like Bragnant and possibly Tucker, that you're gonna have.
Speaker 9 (01:11:28):
Some down years.
Speaker 4 (01:11:29):
Aren't we losing value in his contract? And how many
years do we have left? I believe three or four
that you can just bring in a hall for him
and re establish your farm system and rebuild it because
we're not going to get into his fourth year. And
I think we're gonna pay him if we can't pay Tucker.
Speaker 2 (01:11:50):
I I don't even think that that's on the radar
right now for the Astros.
Speaker 4 (01:11:53):
They have a long term shouldn't it be though?
Speaker 2 (01:11:56):
Not really not.
Speaker 4 (01:11:58):
You're losing, like you said, you can have a down
year maybe two. I mean we're talking about going to
the World Series, right that you're going to put a
team on the field within say two to three years
from now that can compete for the World Series.
Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
I mean he's signing that. Yeah, he is signed through
I mean, I'm looking up right now. He has signed
twenty eight twenty eight, so I mean, yeah, no, I'm
not worried about him at all. I'm not worried about
He's been taken care of. I don't envision the Astros,
if they make these moves, to be sitting here twenty
twenty six, twenty twenty seven worrying about whether or not
(01:12:34):
they're contending or at least a competitive baseball team. I
think you take and again it's easier said than done,
but I think you'd take one small step back in
order to think about what could be twenty twenty six,
twenty twenty seven eight, back to where you are.
Speaker 4 (01:12:45):
At seven twenty eight. Well, we'll get to twenty seven
or twenty eight. I mean, we're not gonna be able
to afford him, I assuming he's playing.
Speaker 2 (01:12:53):
Why women now, Johnny, why are you worried about He's
already being paid a lot of money. He's doing fine.
I'm not worried about the twenty twenty seven twenty eight
pay roll right now, especially if he's under contract.
Speaker 4 (01:13:02):
I mean, he's getting paid Soto money.
Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
So what do you so, Johnny? What do you want
to do? Do you want him to do you want to
trade him to? I mean, what do you want? What
are you asking? I'm rebuilding.
Speaker 4 (01:13:11):
I'm gonna rebuild the mode.
Speaker 2 (01:13:13):
Oh my god, you want to trade Jorn and Alvarez too? Okay,
who do you want to keep?
Speaker 4 (01:13:19):
I mean when Tucker's gone and Bragman's gone, I mean
you have pain of he can get his game back
to what he did and his rookie year hopefully. I mean, really,
that's the core you really only have.
Speaker 2 (01:13:33):
Okay, Sorry, Johnny. What I want you to do is
I want you to come on my show right now,
and I want you to say, I, Johnny that lives
in North Houston, want to trade Jordon Alvarez? Just say
it so we get it all out of our just
said it.
Speaker 4 (01:13:43):
I've been saying that this was the whole point of
the conversation. It shouldn't we already be thinking about that.
We're rebuilding. You're losing value in his contract every year
he's here, and we're not going to the World Series.
I thought, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:14:01):
All right, thank you Johnny for the phone call. I mean, no,
that's ridiculous. I don't know what else I can say
anything else. We're ossing am I missing anything.
Speaker 3 (01:14:16):
You got it covered.
Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
Oh, good old Johnny. He's been calling for a while.
Appreciate Johnny. He was a Mark Sanchez truther back in
the day, was he? Yeah? See how I don't remember
what callers takes are typically, well, I just there's some
memorable ones. That's the first trade Yard and Alvarez call.
We've had the twenty seven year old in his prime
(01:14:42):
that you have locked up on an extremely team friendly deal,
extremely team friendly. He must be an al dingingrad What
excuse me?
Speaker 3 (01:14:56):
Why would you say that?
Speaker 2 (01:14:57):
Did I say that out loud? You did? Oop? Sorry,
shout out Aldine love y'all.
Speaker 3 (01:15:03):
Yeah, I came up out of there.
Speaker 2 (01:15:05):
I'm doing all right.
Speaker 3 (01:15:06):
Mike takes it better than yours.
Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
I don't know. Maybe Johnny's feeling there's a lot of
adversity around the ASTROS organization right now. There is some adversity.
Everyone goes through adversity, some in different amounts. There you go,
eleven forty five. Excuse me, I can't even remount clock. Okay,
so flustered by Johnny's call, Oh, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny,
(01:15:39):
I'm gonna give you a great bit of advice. Right now,

More Man Thomas Show with Ross Now Spurts Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
Isn't anything goes Friddy, I don't think I had my
bingo board Ross. Anything goes meaning trading your on Alvarez.
But to each his own. Johnny love you. I just
sometimes you get a little heated conversation going, and he
kept us cool, and I was kind of losing mind
because I was flabbergasted.
Speaker 3 (01:17:00):
Johnny uh did call back.
Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
Apparently according to Connor McGovern if Connor wants to go
ahead and tell us what he had to say.
Speaker 6 (01:17:06):
Oh yeah, he was. He is insulted. He said he
went to Aldan. He wanted to clarify and said he
went to MacArthur.
Speaker 2 (01:17:12):
Oh well, same district, that is correct, the same district,
thoughts ross.
Speaker 3 (01:17:22):
We Nimitz Koog looked down on the MacArthur.
Speaker 2 (01:17:26):
I don't even remember what they are generals, it's the
is the Alden MacArthur all the Nimitz battles interesting. I
don't even I don't think so. I mean MacArthur, at
least when I was there, they were the worst football.
That was the easy dub on the football schedule. That's
the only thing I remember. The big rival for Nimitz
(01:17:46):
was Ike. That's who Eisenhower Maybean and Aldean as well,
of course, But I would say even though Eisenhower I think,
beat us every year I was there, it was the rivalry.
All right, Johnny, we love you. Keep calling the show.
It was fun having you your good good sport and
your take suck. But other than that, you're just great.
I do not want I do not want your outfs traded.
Speaker 8 (01:18:09):
Oh yeah they are.
Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
They made absolutely no sense.
Speaker 3 (01:18:11):
Yeah, the MacArthur generals.
Speaker 2 (01:18:14):
All right, let's talk to some people. Let's go to
Philipe on seven nine eleven fifty three, Felipe, good afternoon
or good morning, good morning guys.
Speaker 18 (01:18:22):
You know, honestly, I wouldn't have admitted to be going
to MacArthur.
Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
I would have took aldi, but that's that's up to him.
Speaker 11 (01:18:30):
That's up to him.
Speaker 8 (01:18:32):
But uh, yeah, man, I just want to call it
and give you some props. Man.
Speaker 9 (01:18:41):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
On Tuesday, I caught it.
Speaker 18 (01:18:43):
For gut feelings, and I gave you my gut feeling.
But I said, you know, carthin is gonna yeah, we're
gonna be signing for like, you know, close a three
hundred min And you're like, no chance.
Speaker 2 (01:18:50):
You know what, I believe you.
Speaker 8 (01:18:52):
You know, I'm gonna give you.
Speaker 2 (01:18:52):
Props for that. You're talking me off the edge it.
We should trade him, trade him for as much as
you get. I'm sorry. I love the guy. I really
wanted to stay here, but he's not. You know, that's
the reality. And I can go ahead and say this.
Speaker 18 (01:19:03):
I have a friend who grew up in Anaheim is
an Angels fan even to this day. We talked about
it when they still had Otani and I told him
in the off season before his final year with them,
I said, they should trade this guy, trade him and get.
Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
As much as you can. You're gonna rebuild this team.
You're gonna be set for the future. Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:19:19):
What did the Angels do?
Speaker 2 (01:19:20):
They blundered it.
Speaker 18 (01:19:21):
They said, oh, we'll trade him. They decided not to
decide to go all into that year. What do they
get for him? One Measley draft pick.
Speaker 2 (01:19:27):
Buckus Yep, good stuff, good weekend. Thank you for the
phone called Ross. Is he right? He's right?
Speaker 8 (01:19:33):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:19:33):
We kept talking about Altani should be traded by the Angels.
He wasn't gonna sign there. They wasn't the other way.
They traded four players. But they also I think they
thought they had a chance of keeping him. I feel
like the Angels have a better had a better chance
of keeping Otani than the Astros do with Kyle Tucker.
It feels like to me just a general feel, and
(01:19:54):
they were trying to do everything they could to convince
him to stay. And by the way, he's a better
player Kyle Tucker. So I don't know he was going
to break the bank. He knew he was probably going
to be an Anaheim, but he was at least maybe
open to the thought of staying in southern California, which
he did. He did stay in something California.
Speaker 3 (01:20:12):
He didn't go that far away.
Speaker 19 (01:20:15):
But it's yeah, I'm totally on board with trading away Tucker,
but you have Jordan Alvarez for four more years on
an extremely team friendly deal.
Speaker 3 (01:20:26):
You're not going to trade him away.
Speaker 2 (01:20:28):
What you're trying to do is be back contending by
the end of those four years, taking emotion into the
cover year. I mean, I you know, twenty six b
the year that you go, guess who we got. We
got Jacob Melton and are playing for us. We have
at least two players from the Kyle Tucker move that's
coming to play. We've spent some money on free agency.
(01:20:50):
I mean, I'm trying to and I'm not trying to
sell it because I'm an employee of the Astros. I'm
selling it as an astro fan, and the astro fan
of me says that I don't want Kyle Tucker to
go bye bye for a fir round pick.
Speaker 8 (01:21:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:21:01):
It's also about what's possible and what's probable. Is it
is it possible that Jacob Melton and Bryce Matthews are
all stars? Yes?
Speaker 3 (01:21:07):
Is it probable that both of them aren't?
Speaker 2 (01:21:09):
No? No?
Speaker 3 (01:21:10):
So yeah it we don't know. We can't predict the future.
Speaker 2 (01:21:13):
But the best way to me to be prepared for
the upcoming I don't want to call it swoon, but
whatever you want to say, retooling, I think is the
word that Brian McTaggart us would be to a crew
as many prospects as possible with an asset that you're
probably in all likelihood going to lose anyways, And that
would that would involve both Kyle Tucker and Fromervelds one
(01:21:35):
an Aggi land on seven ninety one, Good morning, Good morning.
Speaker 20 (01:21:40):
I held on all this time just to tell Johnny
to shut Joe bumass. You probably put money on Tyson Fite,
probably take your girl to McDonald's for Valentine's today.
Speaker 3 (01:21:53):
Oh no, Now I.
Speaker 8 (01:21:55):
Got to give back to work, Johnny. Waste is some
of my time.
Speaker 2 (01:21:58):
Well, you know, thank you one, appreciate it. By the way,
you can take your girl to McDonald's for Valentine's and
di an'y. None wrong with that, especially if she's a
big one. Supersize that meal, get her dessert right Ross. Hello,
(01:22:19):
h it seems like we're losing connection with Matt in
Las Vegas. You mean the time you've never taken your
girl to a fast food restaurant and said, Babe, this
is this is the most interesting for McDonald's. No two mcribs,
large fries.
Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
Okay, you should get that thrown into your face.
Speaker 2 (01:22:37):
One two ounce, one thirty two ounce drink, two straws,
and a dessert that you can share with two spoons.
Speaker 3 (01:22:44):
Here's some hot pork gunk on a bun.
Speaker 2 (01:22:50):
That's great. What a Valentine's Day to remember, Matt. Maybe
that's how I got missed the time you've been married
too long? You're probably right all right, real quick, before
we get to we waken the strippers up Kyle on
seven ninety High. Kyle, Hey, guys, how's it going good?
Speaker 21 (01:23:05):
So I told the report earlier about the coast package
being east Hak bret Is and Cam Smith. Uh one
are the odds that we could get Suzuki in that
trade too, because I think, I mean, instead of a rebuild,
I think that package is more of a re a
re tooling, like mc tigers said, and that Yankees package
(01:23:26):
is to me, it's not then enticing because I mean,
you don't know what Ben Rice is gonna be. I mean,
Louis Hill, he had a good year, but pitching isn't
really a need, you know. So I was just wondering
about Suzuki being in that package for the Cubs.
Speaker 2 (01:23:42):
Yeah, you know what it'd be. It's totally speculation. First
of all, no one's gonna be saying, well, yeah, we've
we were asking the general media what they think about
this and seeing what's their I mean, we're all all
this is right now is just rampant speculation. I just
know they're not gonna give Dana. They're not gonna give
him away for nothing. But they're also going into I
mean the teams on the other side. Ross gotta be
(01:24:03):
careful too, because there's no guarantee that Kyle Tucker would
be a Houston it would be a member of that
team come twenty twenty six. I mean, we got to
be realistic about what you can get in return. Yeah,
I just wonder how much would the team weigh that
Kyle Tucker puts them over the hump for I don't know,
championship contention. How much do they weigh Kyle Tucker being
in house helps him stay in house. It didn't work
(01:24:25):
for the Yankees. It did work for Mookie Bets. So
there did a lot of Carlos belt round for the
Astros when they went and got to know it didn't
Was that a rental? Was that a few that was
a few months as a rental? They made the trade
a little bit early. I want to say he wasn't August. Yeah,
it was more of an early season trade, but still
(01:24:46):
a rental. But there's there's risks to go with this,
no question about this for the For the other side,
it's not just the risk on the Astro side, it's
a risk on their side because of Kyle Tucker's Like,
let's say he goes to Chicago and bats again three
twenty five forty home runs, drives in a and fifteen,
why would he settle on just saying, well, you know
what comes you. I had a nice season here, I'm
gonna stay here because you traded for me a year
(01:25:06):
ahead of time. He doesn't owe that to anybody. No,
All right, let's wake the strippers up. We'll do that

Good barn exter Rippers and welcome to our three.
Speaker 2 (01:26:24):
It's about Thoma's Show with Ross, that's a sports talk
seven ninety.
Speaker 3 (01:26:28):
We're gonn hit the spot at Oyo, is what you're saying.
You can hit that spot at Oyo.
Speaker 2 (01:26:32):
And after and it won't cost as much as like
hit the spot at Caesar's or at Cosmo? Are you
talking about Vegas hooker prices right now?
Speaker 20 (01:26:39):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:26:40):
How about can you be sexually attracted to your future stepmother?
I believe there's a whole genre on that, matt Oh,
where can you find that? By the way, I'm curious Ross,
how do you And first of all, how do you know?
These depends on what state you're in in leaving as
a punch in the gut, and then two of the
Yankees would also be a punch in the nuts. Double wham.
So you're saying gut and testicles, Yes, damn, it's a lot.
Speaker 5 (01:26:59):
We hear you're having some in your mouth, right? How
do you holding it? Show me real quick, don't look
at me in the eyes when you're doing that. You
know what it's like to bob up and down. I
just start honking. I'm just honking at everyone. So I'm
gonna I'm gonna ride this out for a little while.
Speaker 2 (01:27:12):
You're a girl back there behind you. I mean, he's
a bird. I wouldn't call her. I wouldn't call her girl,
but she's definitely a bird. That's a bird's name. Missus Thomas,
what the hell was that? Ross? Did you hurt the
microphone when you heard that? My god, it was like
(01:27:32):
something I think I pounded the table.
Speaker 8 (01:27:34):
Is it like this?
Speaker 2 (01:27:35):
That's exactly what it was? That strip for awake. You
guys are ready for a Friday. It's twelve oh seven.
Time now for the news of dude.
Speaker 9 (01:27:47):
It is.
Speaker 2 (01:27:50):
Oh yes, all right, Matthews from Toms Sports People that
I think people love it. We should do an instant
pole time his top sportsoz IOLs of the day here
all though, bat Toabi's show, you sound like Jimmy. You
sound like Jimmy fallon the.
Speaker 16 (01:28:07):
New York Yankees acquiring closer Devin Williams from the Milwaukee
Brewers in exchange for left hander Nestor Cortes and infield
of prospect Caleb Durbin and cash considerations.
Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
Sources telling ESPN's Jeff Passid Matt what does this mean
for the New York Yankees and their pursuit pursuit of
possibly Kyle Tucker and or Alex Bregman. I think it
doesn't affect Alex Bregman. I think Kyle Tucker probably is thinking,
just call me when you trade me. I don't care
where I go. I'm gonna be a free agent a
(01:28:42):
year from now. I'll decide where I want to play
long term. What do you think is going through Kyle
Tucker's mind right now? I think he wants to stay
with the Astros. You think he doesn't care in golf
right now and doesn't care where he's I think he cares.
He's got to be paying attention somewhat to see if
he's gonna end up in Chicago or wherever. I think,
you know what my honest answered on that is. I
think he's happy that he's hearing that he will not
(01:29:05):
have to answer questions about signing a deal in the
off season for the astrosk It's just it's just not
in play. It's just not hm hmm. So that's my
answer to you, Okay, Matt Well elsewhere, of course, you know,
the Houston Texans are taking on the Miami Dolphins this weekend.
Speaker 8 (01:29:24):
C J.
Speaker 2 (01:29:25):
Stroud is speaking to the media talking about a lot
of respect he has for tua tongue of bloa. Oh
it's my computer, ru is this working? Oh boy?
Speaker 23 (01:29:37):
Last year, you know, I got to meet him when
we joined package with him and not to talk to him,
and you know, a lot of respect for him who
he is as a person, who he's just a nan
of God, you know. And then you know, just the
advice he gave me, it was really good and you know,
I really appreciate it, and you know it helped me
through out last year and this year. So yeah, I'm
(01:29:58):
a real big fan of two and I think he
does a lot of great things on the field, and
you I'm glad to see him back playing and all
that his career is gonna, you know, continue to be great,
and you know, I'm very happy for him.
Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
At the end of the day on Sunday, who were
we saying after the game has had the better GAMEJ
stroud or to a tongue of aloha. I'm taking Texans
to beat the Dolphins thirty to twenty four, and so
they are going to get thirty points for that second
time all season, thirty to twenty So they're gonna get
(01:30:30):
three pick six is what you're saying. Hey, I got
a load for you. They're gonna score a fourth quarter
touchdown too offensively? Yep? Are you a stutter team? Why
what happened that I came back and you have more
faith in the Texans than I do. Well, that's because
they call me liberty white. Matt. Yeah, you are a
(01:30:51):
very liberty white Matt. That's why we appreciate you. Congratulations
again to the McNair family that they inherited a six
bangon do Oar NFL franchise. Also, Matt, well elsewhere in
the news. Of course, you were in Las Vegas for
the NBA Cup for the Houston Rockets. Did you see
the league's last two minute reports on the game against
(01:31:13):
the Golden State Warriors. I'm so happy you brought this up.
Ross give out the highlights because I want to tell
somebody that we know and don't love to shut their
bumb asses up. The NBA has ruled that the foul
called on Jonathan Kaminga that sent Jalen Green to the
line for the game winning free throw was correct. Oh.
(01:31:34):
They also ruled there should have been a five second
violation before the last shots. One other things. I guess
Dylan Brooks should have been called for a three second violation. Yes,
but the five call is pretty interesting that they not
only that's a double wabby against Golden State never should
(01:31:55):
have got the ball in to begin with.
Speaker 3 (01:31:58):
Yes, that is correct, so so.
Speaker 2 (01:32:02):
Suck it Warriors. Hope you're enjoyed your I'm here in
Las Vegas with a massage gun next to my bed.
Why do you have a massage gun? Next year? Bed? Again?
Real quick to massage myself? Okay? Then, also, Matt, we
do have Actually we're getting an audio from Bill Kennedy.
Speaker 3 (01:32:19):
He had some words for Steve Kerr as well.
Speaker 2 (01:32:22):
Shit obamass up man. There is partly a group of
people that believe the NBA does protect the referees well
to do, but they also admit when they made a mistake.
And they make a mistake too. I mean Steve Kerr
read that reads that report, he probably goes, screw them.
I know what I saw. I'm a basketball player. I
(01:32:44):
can't let an official get away with making a call.
Seven he said, eighty feet away from the play that
was that was the first ball. He might have been
thirty feet away, but he wasn't eighty. He wouldn't get
a bruce. He wouldn't getting a Bruskie in the concourse.
He wasn't over it to the Fortita Center making a
call from there. Come on, now, I hear a whistle
in the district in the distance. Hey, there's a game
in Alding going on. I'll can you make it that call?
(01:33:07):
Shout out all the shout out? Tolly Snow, what is
the stadium? Ho in Tolly State Thorne Stadium. Tully's uh, yeah,
but we used to play over there back in our day.
They were in district, but not anymore. Yeah. I graduated
high school from Tuty Coliseum. Really yep. They built it
there and that's where they held the games to gladiators. Correct,
and guess where I went from my high school graduation? Meal?
(01:33:31):
Chee cheese? Nope, But by the way, che cheese are
coming back in Minnesota. By would you say that you
love chee cheese? I love chee cheese. It's a chain
beans three? Okay, Benagan's just strike one? Do you really
I wanted to to Shones for my graduation meal? Hold on,
(01:33:53):
you're taking your wife to to get him a rib
for Valentine's Day. My wife loves them rib No, oh
she does, Oh hell yeah she does. She's disgusting. I'm
gonna I'm gonna have her text you right now. Dad
tell her, Tara, I say, and I quote, Ross says,
you're disgusting for liking the McRib. Okay, well, also we
(01:34:14):
knew that for liking Matt Thomas. But that's a different
discussion for a different time. Okay, go ahead. Uh you
you got strike one. It was not Bennegan's. That's not
a bad first guess Hooters Strike two?
Speaker 3 (01:34:33):
Uh, steak and ale. The answer was Ball of Martin.
Speaker 2 (01:34:38):
Ooh you fancy. Let me tell you Ball of Martin
back in nineteen ninety. That was a jam when I
went on my first first date in high school went
to the Ball of Martin? Did you classy joint salad?
Still amazing? Breadsticks? Yeah, awesome, rests the food me, but
everything else with that's you know, it's not that great,
but it's fine. It's mid it's the job done. It's
(01:35:01):
it's basically like bed Robster, which they're out of bankruptcy now.
I think, oh, they got bought, they got a new CEO.
And he said no more endless shrimp. That's ridiculous. That's
why would you go to bed Robster if you weren't
getting an endless shrimp.
Speaker 3 (01:35:14):
Well, that's why they were hemorrhaging money.
Speaker 2 (01:35:17):
People like they're like this, they're like the size of dimes.
I mean I think they were. You know, they weren't
the prime shrimp. You got people like you showing up
having six buckets of shrimp crippling them. I've once had
forty one scampion one serving. I'd get that.
Speaker 3 (01:35:30):
That's what we call you, Scampy Thomas.
Speaker 2 (01:35:33):
Nobody calls me scampy Thomas. Your father managed chee cheese? Yes,
did he manage them? Well? Actually, you know they answer
that question by uh, yeah, yeah. I would ask if
(01:35:59):
there's a offbeat story here, but I can't imager. We're
are we late for the yo? Look how late we
are for the news at noon?
Speaker 8 (01:36:04):
Now?
Speaker 2 (01:36:05):

Barton is amazing, And that, my friends, was the news

Man, I might, uh, I might go out on Saturday.
I'm playing pick up hockey tomorrow morning.
Speaker 2 (01:38:18):
Yeah, that'll be fun. You gotta go to a NBA
Cup watch party somewhere.
Speaker 6 (01:38:24):
No, but I'll watch it on my own because I'm interested.
Speaker 2 (01:38:27):
And of course listen to radio for the epic calls
and I'll hopefully it will bring me for two and
a half hours.
Speaker 6 (01:38:31):
Yes, of course, of course, I'll you know what, I'll
mute the TV and then I'll put your call on.
Speaker 2 (01:38:35):
You're the best. I'll deserve you. And now Ross is back.
So there you go. Hi, Ron talking to me. Sorry,
I was getting I was asking if you checked your
phone lately. I have, so you did have your wife
contact me? And she said, uh, you know how I
have her on your phone. It's pretty funny. I have
her as missus at sports EMT so I did not
(01:38:56):
know it's a compliment. I think my last text from
her is from a year ago. Yeah. Uh yeah. She
said I love the McRib in all caps, and I
said them in all caps the McRib sucks and you
should be embarrassed.
Speaker 20 (01:39:09):
MM.
Speaker 2 (01:39:13):
If y'all got beef, we can do a sports empty
theater missus T against Ross scared. I know you ain't scared.
Let's go seven.
Speaker 3 (01:39:25):
You know who does have beef.
Speaker 2 (01:39:26):
I actually meant to bring this up. I'm glad you
just said this. What is going on between Pete Damil
and Bret mc murphy. Brett McMurphy. Can we do a
sports empty theater with it? Not really, because Brett McMurphy
keeps it short and simple. He called them a joke
or a clown. I think we should tell it because
I think the average person doesn't know these are the
(01:39:47):
two of the leading college football writers in the country.
Speaker 3 (01:39:50):
Oh wait, wait a second, Wait a second.
Speaker 2 (01:39:53):
Did I get jumped by a fake? Did you? Oh well,
they have a check mark elon freaking musk. Oh god,
wait a minute, was this real? Maybe he didn't call
him a joke? I got, I got? Oh no he did.
Speaker 5 (01:40:14):
He did.
Speaker 3 (01:40:15):
The real Brett m murphy did it.
Speaker 2 (01:40:16):
There was also a fake Bret McMurphy CFP with the
same avatar with a check mark, so you can't discern
between the two. Oh no, but no, the actual Brett
McMurphy Pete Damio to put out a Dan Mullen's story
about him agreeing to be the coach at UNLV, and
then he's put football Scoop first reporting. I think Brett
McMurphy was first on the scene because his reply was
(01:40:39):
one word. It was joke. Oh, you're right, I'm looking
at it right now. So I make a look at
the replies of the joke. Um Brett wants all the smoke. Yeah,
the columnist credit beef is the best, worst slash best.
(01:41:00):
What's the joke? Why you say that? You weren't first either,
lo L Why you always acting like you break every story? Lol?
Does it really matter? It doesn't matter, does it? When
the one guys just get his ass? Brett once his
GD You're thirsty Humbrett Texans Outsiders? Has he blocked me
for calling his ass out? The Amil's a joke? Wow? Hmm? Yeah,
(01:41:25):
I don't know. Reporter beef is not fun to me.
I think it's amazing. What do you mean what's not
fun about this? Well? Give me the last good reporter beef.
We've had Rappaport and Jason luckinfora didn't he threaten him?
That is locking for? I think locking For is working
for like the Wichita Eagle newspaper. I mean he's he's
out of side, out of mind. He was with the
(01:41:47):
Washington Post. I don't know where he is now. I
think multiple people have had beef with Ian Rappaport though
we need. We haven't done a sports MT theater in
a long time. Yeah, but if y' all can find one,
if y'all find some two people beefing on something to
be worthy of us, reading will be happy. Weren't Chefter
(01:42:09):
and Rapidport beefing for a little bit. I don't know.
It seems artificial, by the way, real quick, I was
checking my son and I argue I shouldn't say this
out loud. Well, I'm gonna take him to We're coming
here to Vegas in May, Okay, and he wants to
stay at a particular hotel. He wants to say, at
the West Gate, which is very very mid right, Yes,
(01:42:29):
to stay there here in May four hundred and twenty
six dollars on our Friday night. Why freaking Westgate? That's like,
what would it be the equivalent of like a chraton?
Is the Barry Manilow Lookike convention in town that weekend? Well,
Berry's gonna be there, so there's part of the jam.
So don't tell him yet. That's one of his gifts.
(01:42:51):
So you just announced it on air. I know, but
he's not listening. I don't think he is. Somebody he
knows might be if you're one of Peyton's buddies. Don't
tell them, Okay. Gilbert in Austin on seven ninety twelve
to twenty seven. Wait, we have some quick breaking news, man.
I got to reply from your wife and it's an
emoji with one finger up ooh oops, Hi Gilbert, Wait,
(01:43:19):
what's going on.
Speaker 8 (01:43:22):
Over there talking about albrid No. I think if you
think about it, think about it, Kyl.
Speaker 25 (01:43:28):
Tucker's does great during the season, postseason is terrible.
Speaker 8 (01:43:32):
Gregman the same thing. He's got good defense, but he
has no babt.
Speaker 25 (01:43:37):
So the thing is, if they get rid of both
of them as far as Third Bay goes, if we
can get a decent third basement that has a good bat,
then that'd be good. So it's gonna be hard to
replace Tucker though, because he's got a good defense too.
Speaker 8 (01:43:50):
But we need somebody with the bet. So I think
we'll be okay.
Speaker 25 (01:43:54):
And I think they know about They know more about
the baseball than we do.
Speaker 8 (01:43:59):
We're just the fans. I'm pretty sure. Like anyway, Dolphins,
those what's up?
Speaker 25 (01:44:06):
I think they're gonna be all right, And I think
we're gonna be okay.
Speaker 8 (01:44:11):
Just hang up in distant guys, let.
Speaker 2 (01:44:14):
Me summarize Gilbert's call. Rash you ready, No, if a
bat is good, but the bat is not good, but
it's good in the postseason but maybe not in the
regular season. But if the bat is still good at
their base, but it's the glove it's the outfits of
work in the preseason, past the postseason. In the regular season,
it'll be okay, right, Well, since you're into the mind
of Gilbert, I must ask is a guy who hit
(01:44:34):
twenty six and twenty five home runs the last two
years has no bat no bat, zero bat okay, zilch
just making and by the way, really easy narrative is
the guys don't perform in the postseason. I got news
for y'all. I had a lot of players that don't
perform in the postseason. Go ask Aaron Judge, uh Alex
Bragman has performed in the postseason. Yeah, I just watched
(01:44:56):
the highlight of hitting a Grand Slam against the Nationals
in the World Series. Just either are so he did that?
I mean, look, kaf Tucker is bad for two games
this year and was bad for a handful bad the
previous years. Yeah, we just make too much of these
small sample sizes. We need in mind. We need to
just just appreciate with how good they were a body
(01:45:16):
of work. And remember it's just harder to hit in
the postseason because the pitching is significantly better. Well, I
guess Bregman's career postseason numbers. Go ahead and say it.
You've already opened this Pandora's box. Thirty eight ops of
seven eighty nine. It's decent, okay. So when he's making
when he's making contact, it's impactful. By the way, he
(01:45:37):
has nineteen postseason home runs for somebody with no postseason bet.
That's pretty good. I'm okay, I'm okay his numbers very
much so all right. Seven one three, two, one two
five seven ninety seven one three two one two five
seven nine zero. Anything goes Friday, continues Doctor Roto in

Yeah, Oh, I was gonna go Okay, So we got
that going on with the Rockets. They'll take on Oklahoma City.
The winner of this game will take on the winner
of the game which will be earlier in the afternoon
featuring the Milwaukee Bucks and the Atlanta Hawks. Lebron James
is stepping aside for a while from the Lakers.
Speaker 20 (01:47:53):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:47:54):
They're saying personal issues. Hmm. Now that clearly means could
be something family related. It could mean that he's maybe
just taking some time off because he wants to rest
his sword foot again. No one really knows what it is,
(01:48:21):
but it feels like to me that the world of
social media has put taking one in two and two
and making twenty six out of it personal reasons. Yeah, well,
sounds like it's his business. It's an absence, says number
one thing that is brought out there. Don't you what
(01:48:43):
the diddy thing? Diddy? Oh gosh, when I went to
Google Lebron James just off my phone. Three second, cat,
let me give you the first ten things that show up. Okay, Warriors,
James Junior. You mean suggestions? Yeah, suggestions? Did he party?
(01:49:03):
Did he party? Did he party? Age? Net Worth News?
Dat's trade? Did he the number one suggestion was Diddy. Yeah,
it's also that Algorim is based on you and your
dirty searches. I couldn't even tell you who did he
was until last week on all this. Are you serious
you'd never heard of Sean Puffy Combs Puff Daddy. I
couldn't tell you one of his songs. Like if you
(01:49:24):
gave me, if you played three songs and said, did
he play sang one of them? I couldn't tell you
which one of the three. Okay, So let's well, of
course I heard of him, but I wouldn't know if
a song came out and go, oh, that's Sean or
that's Diddy. Hey dated Jennifer Lopez. Good for him. You
(01:49:45):
know that fifty plus crowd is doing really well? What
do you mean, Sophia Viagara j Lo? Who'd I say?
That was sixty? That turned sixty other day? That was
still so hot? I was at dum Well. The surgeons
are better than ever. Matt Well, who's the one that
was in my cousin Vinnie? What was her name? Oh,
(01:50:07):
Marsa Tomay, Marsa Tomay. It looks good. Also, the advent
of sunscreen and people not chain smoking since the age
of eight, I think has helped. So I mean it
works right, Yeah, I'm so. I'm just telling you, I'm
just talking. You know what it is, ROSSI we got
some good news, as long as you don't completely beat
up your body between say, twenty five and fifty fifty
(01:50:29):
five sixty sixty five's do looking? Okay? The girls are
hotter women, I should say. Coaches are getting jobs left
and right. Bill Belichick looked like he was spry twenty
seven years old yesterday in front of the press commerce
the North Carolina. We'll see how long that lasts. He's he's,
you know, exchanging bodily fluids with the twenty four year old.
Speaker 3 (01:50:47):
I see, Why do you have to go there?
Speaker 2 (01:50:49):
Okay, I'm sorry. They're hand in hand relationship. They're having
a great time with a mutual trust and friendship. Is
that better? That's better? Oh? God?
Speaker 3 (01:50:59):
You really like talk came about?
Speaker 2 (01:51:00):
Never mind? Can we set an over under on Bill Belichick?
If I put two and a half where you're going years,
five year deal? How about this? Why don't you settle
a handicapping line on whether he finishes the contract? Oh
that's uh, finishing the contract is like a plus seven
(01:51:24):
fifty mm okay, three and a half. One onds on
that two and a half ors I say he takes
the over, I think he go I think he goes three,
but would be I would be surprised if he finished
the full five m okay three and a half. You
know what it is, though, You know what, you don't
(01:51:45):
have to do anymore in ross and college athletics on
football side, especially what's you know what, what's a cliche
term you hear with college football coaches all the time,
the term program? Right, Yes, you don't have to build
a program anymore. You have to build a team. And
I'm stealing it from somebody else that said that, uh yesterday. Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:52:07):
I mean, if you do it faster, you have to
do it.
Speaker 2 (01:52:09):
But you you can do it faster. You don't have
to build a program anymore because the transfer portal doesn't
allow you to make build a program. You can't. You know,
the portal lets you freely move from team to team
to team the team with no consequence. Programs are built
with going after high school kids and making sure they
red shirt their freshman year, and you slowly work them
(01:52:31):
in their sophomore year, and then you give them an
opportunity to be a major star in their junior and
senior year. Now, if you don't play these players right
away and you don't give them their what they think
is appropriate playing time, or you don't give them enough cash,
they go to the poortal right away. So you're literally
having to construct a new football team every year. I'm
telling you ross this year watching Kevin Ashenfelder prepare for
(01:52:52):
his football games. You have to put their height, their weight,
their classification in school, and then you have to put
where they spent the last three years of their college
football career. That's building a team.
Speaker 20 (01:53:05):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:53:05):
That's that's how college football chose to run their operation.
So I'm not feeling sarn for anybody. But the reality is,
twenty years ago, fifteen years ago for that matter, you
were building from scratch, and the teams that would go
to the would go to the j c rot to
go get players. You couldn't have long term success because
you were not building a program. Now you're constructing a
(01:53:26):
brand new sixty five man football team every single year.
It's just not different. It's it's college football's change.
Speaker 3 (01:53:34):
It's different.
Speaker 2 (01:53:35):
But I mean, I still think you have to build,
and I still think you have to have philosophies that
and I think that attract the right players, and you
have to pick and find the right players otherwise, I
mean everybody would do it.
Speaker 3 (01:53:45):
Everybody every year would be contending, and that's just not
the case.
Speaker 2 (01:53:48):
Like the Cougars had got what sixty new players this
year and they weren't very good, but they should be next.
But Willie fritz under his next year should be better, right,
because well, I don't know the right players and you're
but I think the portals to help the Cougars out.
I mean, look, look at your most successful Texas receiver
this year, uh Dj Moore, Matthew Golden. He might have
(01:54:09):
had the most touchdowns, but I mean very impactful player
for Texas.
Speaker 3 (01:54:16):
Absolutely he got called up to the big leagues.
Speaker 2 (01:54:18):
Good for him. No he didn't. He got paid off,
and that's fine. Each to each his own. Hey, he said,
you know what, University of Houston and the Cougar is
not the place for me. I want to go on
to bigger and better things. I want to make the
playoff and he did. He didn't want to be toiling
at the bottom of the Big.
Speaker 3 (01:54:34):
Twelve, so he moved on up. I appreciate him for that.
Speaker 2 (01:54:36):
Mm hmm okay. But my being the porn being is
that Texas didn't, that wasn't a program builder, that was
an acquisition. And I'm not saying it's.
Speaker 7 (01:54:43):
Right or wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:54:43):
I'm just saying this is something that has changed in
college I mean everything changes in college sports. This is
the newest change is that when you you want, if
you want to look at where a program is or
a college football team is, see how many of the
players three years from now have not transferred. How many
players have been kids that Sark recruited or any of
(01:55:04):
the coaches Mike Elko recruited and now are still there
because even when they were really good, who was at
the kid in malink Murphy of Texas right went to
Duke and played yes, and now I was looking for
his third school that wasn't because he was mistreated to Duke.
They got to a bowl game, they're winning football games,
got a huge season of the quarterback. He's just looking
to find the next place to go, So good for him,
(01:55:29):
wishing them the best. He obviously he's not burning the
mid not at all in the classes. He's just looking
for his next venue. I mean, you have to have
some sort of academics standing to transfer. Correct, I don't
think much. I mean, what did you think of when
you was at Day? He went from Texas to Duke.
He's got to have some kind of he's kind of
got to be going to some classes. So tell me
(01:55:51):
another kid in life that would turn down those two
amazing academic institutions.
Speaker 3 (01:55:56):
Well, it's he's not there for academics.
Speaker 2 (01:55:59):
I mean, Mike, was he go into next Arkansas? Maybe
that would be a downgrade if I had three schools
on my resume. I said, well, I went to my
freshman year in Texas and I went to do oh Man,
would you go to Colgate next?
Speaker 8 (01:56:12):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:56:13):
I went to Memphis.
Speaker 3 (01:56:15):
You hit the transfer portal, Matt from North Texas?
Speaker 2 (01:56:18):
Yeah I did. I went from a good institution to
a great institution. Mm hm, yes, yes you did. You
you know what? You can't even say it.
Speaker 3 (01:56:31):
I just said, yes, you did.
Speaker 2 (01:56:34):
But you himmed it hot over at No, I didn't.
You're a him in horror. A great, fine institution, the
University of Houston with a outsetting law school, great architecture.
Now medical school. Wonder they got a med school now
they do? Man Tellman has been pumping up the money,
and that bad boy got ourselves a new defensive coordinator
(01:56:54):
from Florida today it's great. Athletics haven't been great, but
the school is good. Got us a new quarterback the
other day, the guy with three touchdowns and five interceptions
this year. That guy, hey, you'll rule, it's asking rule.
There's that guy, right, Connor Redman, you know what they're
about it. It felt like they were a quarterback away
(01:57:15):
from really being good this year. So wishing the Cougar's
the best in the let me tell you I wouldn't
disagree with that assessment, my friend seven one three two
one two five seven ninety seven one three two one
two five seven nine zero. How does a team handle
a player who flat out quits on them in the
game itself. We'll discuss that next twelve forty six with
(01:57:38):
Doctor Rote in fifteen minutes here on Sports Talk seven
ninety with the Cooler, whether we now have your trees
may not like the wind. Your trees may not like
the cool temperatures. If they don't, they need to be
taken care of. And that's where Martin Spoon Moore and
my buddy's over at Affordable Tree of Service want to
come in and help you. That's right. They know about
trees because you don't. You call seven one three six
(01:57:58):
nine nine two six sixty three. You visit with Martin.
He will come to your home. He'll give you an
inspection of all the trees in your front in your backyard,
and he'll make sure they are deep root fed, they
are pruned and evaluated for overall health. Because they are
the experts. You are now seven to one to three
six nine nine two six sixty three. Get on Martin's schedule.
He'll come out, give you an estimate of what it's
(01:58:19):
gonna need to be done, and schedule you for the
upcoming winter months so you can get your trees in
top shape. Seven one three six nine nine two sixty
sixty three. That's seven one three six two six sixty
three for Affordable tree Service. Don't leave Matt Thomas in
your car, take him with you.

Download the free iHeartRadio WAP for your phone at sports

Speaker 2 (01:58:43):
Just remember you'll have to feed him real quick. Devandre
Devandre Campbell, a linebacker for the San Francisco forty nine ers,
was asked to enter the game last night between the
Rams and the Niners, and he said thanks, but no thanks,
he will not go. In fourth quarter, he walked to
the locker room with a towel over his head without
playing a snap. Pretty easy for Kyle Shanahan, right, Ross,
(01:59:06):
you gotta cut the guy, I would imagine.
Speaker 3 (01:59:09):
So if he doesn't want to play, what are you
paying him for?
Speaker 2 (01:59:12):
What's he putting the uniform on?
Speaker 13 (01:59:13):
Though?
Speaker 2 (01:59:13):
That's the thing.
Speaker 3 (01:59:14):
Why why do you bought it to lace up his cleats?
Speaker 2 (01:59:18):
That's true, I mean, they're probably It can't be just
a same I mean, it's got to be more than
just a simple love I didn't want to play. It
must be there must be something deep seated to it.
But if you put the uniform on your kind and
you're on the active roster to play that day, aren't
you're kind of expected to play if necessary. George Kittle,
I've never been around anybody that's ever done that, and
I hope I'm never around anybody who does that again. Yeah,
(01:59:42):
there isn't a single team man on that side of
the football field that's giving him any run there by
the way, John Morosi, you used to be John Paul Morosi,
right JP. Yeah, and then he's not done very well.
So he's just going with the old John. We tried
to get him on the show once and he didn't
return an email or a text, So that's fine. Busy
(02:00:04):
three minutes ago, Kyle Tucker trade talks between the Cubs
and the Astros have continued to gain momentum. Sources confirm ROSSI,
when this show reconvenes on Monday, when you will be
on with a variety of excellent people filling in for me,
uh Monday, I think is Dan Matthews. You will have
(02:00:24):
a Kyle Tucker trade to discuss believe it or not,
which means you're gonna have to get a reporter on
from Chicago that follows our minor leagues to talk about
these guys who've never heard of before. That's true, you
know what I'm saying. I'll figure it out. John Morosie
has just shy of five hundred thousand followers. That's pretty good. See, man,
(02:00:47):
this is why I told you need to break some
news and get stuff wrong. It doesn't matter. Nodia remembers
nobody cares. Bob Nightingale breaks wrong stuff all the time.
What does he have? But you know what, he's he's
gotten better. He's He's had a pretty decent winning streak.
He's got foreign sixty four thousand. Wait a minute, JP
Morosi has more than Bob Nightingale. John Morosy's on TV
(02:01:08):
a lot more than Nightingale. Is I guess by the way,
you can get a cameo from Bob Nightingale. Oh wow,
I just went to John Morosi's page. Guess what it
says on this page? What you have muted posts from
this account? He must have came out with some bad
news and I muted him. I know Bob Nightingale. Okay,
I actually really do know Bob Nightingale. He's a nice person. Okay,
(02:01:30):
doesn't mean he doesn't break bad news, but bron news
good things thrown down it. I'm going down a different
avenue here. He's not the most spirited conversation. Okay. You
can get a personalized video from him from cameo for
forty five dollars plus. That's a good deal. That's cheaper
(02:01:52):
than Matt Thomas. He has twenty three reviews, all are
five star. Nice. I'm wondering what what would the forty
five dollars plus, I mean, I guess it would be
if you want to get it done fast or was
something more like a longer one. I'm curious what it is.
I would not have put. First of all, I would
not have put Bob Nightingale on my list of people
(02:02:14):
on cameo. And second to charge forty five dollars, that's
quite a bit you use. The best value for cameo
is my man, Ryan Hollands. I think he charges like
ten dollars or something like that. That's a deal. I'm
saying five messages from Ryan Hollins for one from you. Yeah,
but I really I take a time and effort to
put these backmans. I'm taking that. Yeah, right, I'll do.
Speaker 3 (02:02:38):
I'll do five from Ryan Hollins. Why don't you buy
one from me?
Speaker 11 (02:02:42):
What four?
Speaker 2 (02:02:43):
The gift of Christmas? Imagine me telling all your friends
Happy Birthday or Merry Christmas, introducing your special team with
my in my public address voice, or maybe doing some
play by a play. I mean, that's a gift that
just keeps on giving. Uh, make magical memories happen. Buy
me on cameo. Number one on Cameo says top ten.
Now I've not been on this website in like two years.
(02:03:05):
James Buckley, who is that? I haven't done a cameo
probably in six months. Actor and the in between her.
Santa Claus is number two right now, that's actually not
a bad deal on that one. British Farrah, but British
politician Nigel Farraj is number three. Checking to sea if
Taylor's got Hey, those Costco, those Costco people who I
(02:03:26):
still don't understand how they're famous. That's and I just
don't get it. I ain't write that down. Two hundred
and fifty dollars to get the Costco. And does this
little kid get brought? Is that a kid therizzler? Yeah, no,
it's the other the younger one.
Speaker 3 (02:03:42):
I forget his name. A sing to you right, big justice?
Speaker 2 (02:03:47):
Is this guy?
Speaker 3 (02:03:48):
Is he a judge?
Speaker 6 (02:03:51):
No, they're just a family. They go to Costco, the
Costco guys, stupid they bring the boom.
Speaker 2 (02:04:00):
Costco's good for three things, so you just said go
ahead man, turos pot dogs and cheap grocery and pizza
and pizza. Yeah, so they go to corr.
Speaker 3 (02:04:10):
Say that again why they're famous, scunner.
Speaker 6 (02:04:13):
Because they just go to Costco and then they rate
things and it's two.
Speaker 2 (02:04:17):
Hundred and fifty dollars to get a message from them
on cameo. These people are famous from rating things at Costco.
What are they rating? I've got six gallons of mayonnaise?
This is delicious? What a world we live in. I
don't think I know on who the Costco guys are
and don't care.
Speaker 3 (02:04:35):
I see them on Twitter all the time and I
just don't get it.
Speaker 2 (02:04:37):
Let's go, Let's mute that bad boy Roussill. You know
how the mut button works? Oh my god, I mute
at least ten accounts a day now, it's out of control.
I got you, hey, a reminder that Doctor Roto's coming
up in a couple of minutes. Get ready for your
fantasy football questions. But I also want to take about

Speaker 1 (02:05:17):
Lunchtimers. This is the Matt Thomas Show.
Speaker 2 (02:05:34):
Waiver claims.
Speaker 26 (02:05:37):
Have to be made, and I've.
Speaker 24 (02:05:41):
Got trade proposals fly in my way. My first round
pig turn out to be a big flop.
Speaker 2 (02:05:54):
I don't know which.
Speaker 26 (02:05:55):
Wide receiver I need to drive, Doctor Roudo, give me
the news's I really don't know what else you do.
Speaker 22 (02:06:08):
My quarterback keeps getting sacked.
Speaker 26 (02:06:11):
I've got a mad Keith a fair deceive blue.
Speaker 2 (02:06:18):
With fastest thirty minutes. Major Market Radio begins right now.
The Matt Thomas Show with Ross the Good Doctor is
whether it's on Sports Talk seven ninety and he is
with us for the final week of the regular season
for some of us, some of us in the first
round of the playoffs, Doctor Rono, how much did you
enjoy watching that field goal affair between the Rams and
(02:06:38):
the Niners and House screwed or people right now with
anybody in position players on both sides of those teams.
Speaker 7 (02:06:44):
MT was like watching paint dry. Dude, is awful? I
mean really, and look you had Cooper Cupp you got
the double bagel, the triple bagel, nothing, you know, Juwan
Jennings five points. If it wasn't for Kien Williams and
maybe Grendo. Those are the only decent days. It was
just listen, if you played any of those guys, you
didn't do anything wrong, you just got horribly unlucky. But
(02:07:07):
I think what this teaches us is something that's really important.
Don't worry about names. Worry about the best matchups. Worry
about the guys who statistically have Like, for example, you know,
the defense plays a lot of zone coverage and this.
Speaker 2 (02:07:20):
Receiver is good again zone coverage.
Speaker 7 (02:07:22):
If that matchup dictates you play the guy, then you
play him. It's the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (02:07:26):
It's time to win, all right, Dak Carolina? Uh, not
the sexiest the noon games all Frankly, this week suck.
With exception maybe of the Texans game. Is Bryce Young
getting some good props from national media about him bouncing
back the last couple of weeks. Can we find value
and a guy that was sent off to the clipboard
(02:07:47):
but came back and putting up some decent numbers.
Speaker 7 (02:07:50):
Well, listen, if Xavier Lagette catches that ball, they win
that game last week, And whoever spent three point one
million dollars on that Eagles bet was going to lose
so young, they've been a much better team over the
last three weeks. Sadly, Jonathan Brooks, as we all know,
is done. Cuba Hubbard is firmly in number one running
back and somebody you're absolutely playing. Adam Feelen looks really
(02:08:11):
good and Xavier Leguette outside of you know, a couple
of bad drops has been a good rookie year. On
the other side, Rico Dowdell is a must play. Jake
Ferguson should have a good game. I like Ceedee Lamb.
I don't love Lamb this week. I think it's more
of a Ferguson and Dowdell. But Dowdell Chuba Feeling get
him in your lineups?
Speaker 2 (02:08:31):
All right? Kansas City is at Cleveland yet again, another
Chiefs last minute doint off the goalpost win. Are we
seeing even these close games? Seeing a departure from the
and haven't been great all year? But are the numbers
even dropping even more? On Kansas City's skill position players?
Have They've been fairly consistent all year long?
Speaker 7 (02:08:53):
You know, Look, are they the luckiest twelve to one
team ever?
Speaker 2 (02:08:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (02:08:57):
But you know it's sometimes lucky teams are good teams.
The Chiefs do when it's third and eight, Mahomes figures
out a way to get nine yards, whether he runs
forward or throws it. So, look, are you gonna play Pacheco?
Speaker 2 (02:09:08):
Yes?
Speaker 7 (02:09:08):
Are you gonna play Hopkins for sure? Are you going
to play Kelsey? You are? But I think the Browns
have a fighting shot in this one because the Chiefs
pass defense has not been great. And you know what
Jameis Winston is going to do. He is going to
throw it around that field. If David Joku plays, he
is a living lock in every lineup. The Chiefs are
terrible against the posting tight ends. If Nujoku plays, you
(02:09:30):
play him. I like Elijah Moore as a really sneaky
play and of course Jerry Judy has been fantastic. So
I can't bench any of these Cleveland Browns because here's
what happens. The Browns put pressure on Mahomes a right,
they get pressure on the quarterback. Mahomes could be making
a couple of mistakes this week. I think the Browns
are good underdogs.
Speaker 2 (02:09:51):
Indianapolis and Denver is a decent three o'clock game on Sunday.
Is this Richardson putting up some decent numbers and make
this a close, competitive game. Nick has obviously been probably
the nicest surprise among all the rookie quarterbacks so far.
How do you see this one in terms of fantasy play? Well,
you're right before.
Speaker 7 (02:10:09):
I think the four o'clock games are better than the
early games, right. I really like the Broncos this week.
So here's the problem with Indianapolis. First of all, they
don't get a lot of pressure on the quarterback, so
Bonnix is gonna have a lot of time sitting there. Secondly,
they play a ton of Cover three, which feeds right
into Courtland Sutton feeds right into Valle and I think
(02:10:29):
bone Look if Jaydon Daniels wasn't as good as he was,
would we be talking about Bonnicks as a potential rookie
of the year. I think we would be. So I
don't really love Richardson this week. I think it all
depends on whether Josh Downs returns. They're hoping that he
comes back, but remember, Sir ten is going to go
up against Michael Pittman. So can Jonathan Taylor run on
(02:10:51):
the Broncos and his Downs there? If Downs is healthy
and Richardson can find him, maybe they have a shot.
But I really like the Broncos a lot at home,
and I love them.
Speaker 2 (02:11:00):
Next week, the best matchup of the entire regular season
week is going to be Buffalo and Detroit. Detroit showing
those signs of slippage. We mentioned this earlier in the
show Today Roto they got a full week off to
play their Thursday game because they played the previous Thursday.
How do you see this one? Are we going to
say a similar like a Green Bay Detroit type score
that we saw between the Bills and the Lions coming
(02:11:21):
up on Sunday?
Speaker 7 (02:11:22):
Well, how about about the Bills in the Rams. We
saw a ton of points in that one. So Vegas
has this one at fifty four and a half. I
don't know whether we're going to see that. And I
want to tell you why Buffalo is not great at
stopping the run and what are the Lions great at
doing running the football? So the way to dominate Buffalo
is to give the ball to Montgomery, give the ball
to Gibbs, and just keep the time of possession, keep
(02:11:45):
Josh Allen off the field. Right then you got Amal
Ross saying Brown, who should have a good game. So
I like both running backs. I like save Brown. I
think they're firmly in play for Buffalo. I think Josh
Allen is a great start, and really Amari Cooper is
a fantastic start. The Lions play I think the first
or second most man coverage in all the league, and
that's what Cooper feasts on. And they know they need
(02:12:07):
Cooper to be good in order to try to get
a bye here. And Dalton kin Kate is back this week,
which is also good for Buffalo. They've been missing him,
so he is definitely startable too.
Speaker 2 (02:12:19):
If the Chargers want to keep that AFC walcard spot,
they're going to have to beat the Buccaneers. It's a
decent three o'clock game as well. How do you see
these matchup between these two squads.
Speaker 7 (02:12:29):
I think this is a good game. So really it's
going to come down to whether Ladd mcconkee plays. Lad
McConkie's a difference maker. And if you saw the Chargers
in the first half last week, I mean Justin Herbert
couldn't find a receiver, but Ladd McConkie against that, you
know Tampa is not good at covering slot receivers and
Ladd is going to find the space there. And remember,
you can't really run on Tampa, So Herbert's going to
(02:12:52):
have to throw so names I like. I like Herbert,
I like Ladd McConkie. And let me give everybody out
their name. You haven't heard of Stone Smart. He's got
a cool name. But Stone Smart is the new starting
tight end there, especially with Will Disley on the ir
I think he's definitely in play. On the other side,
Bucky Irving did not practice today. I think Rashad White
is a fantastic start and I would certainly use him.
(02:13:13):
And of course Mike Evans.
Speaker 2 (02:13:16):
All right, Philadelphia wins last week despite basically throwing the
ball eighty percent of the time. The receiving core for
the Eagles was quite grumpy about this. Do you think
Jalen Hurts makes a concerted eff get those receivers in
play against a Pittsburgh team that would love to keep
their top spot in the AFC North.
Speaker 7 (02:13:32):
You know, MT, You're right about them, ruck all Ton,
because look, there were some videos out there, and I
hope people saw it on social media. Jalen Hurts was
just not willing to throw the football. AJ Brown should
have had two hundred yards receiving last week. He was
throwing outlet passes to guys who are five yards away.
Is supposed to taking shots downfield. Now, the problem is
(02:13:53):
this Pittsburgh is not the team that you take big
shots with, right, just not the way it works out.
That said, I still think AJ Brown is in play.
Saquon should have a good week, not a great week.
I like DeVonta Smith a little bit. But look, this
is the squeaky wheel narrative, right. You better feed AJ Brown.
You're going into the playoffs. You can't have a pissed
off Brown in there. You've got to throw in the football.
(02:14:15):
I don't care whether Jerry Porter's out there or not.
If the Eagles want to make the Super Bowl, you
can't just run the football. You got to throw it too, all.
Speaker 2 (02:14:23):
Right, Miami Houston in the game. We're not worried about
who wins and loses. Obviously a lot of the folks
listening right now, I want the Texans to win this game.
Miami got going in the overtime, scored the touchdown to
beat the Jets. They finally got the use of the
tight end going in that last fourth quarter drive. How
do you see Tua in the skill position players against
the Texans defense and can see j Stroud does do
(02:14:44):
something that Texans have not done a lot this year
and put up maybe a thirty pointer game against a
team that like the Dolphins, who can score some points.
Speaker 7 (02:14:52):
Well, you know, Vegas has the Texans scoring about close
to twenty five points and they're going this is going
to have to be a track mate. I don't think
these teams can win on just you know, running the ball,
even though the Texans might want to do that with
Joe Mixon.
Speaker 2 (02:15:05):
So look for Miami.
Speaker 7 (02:15:07):
I think two is going to throw forw hundred and
sixty five yards in a couple of touchdowns. I love
Tyreek Hill this week, right, absolutely love him. Don't think
the Texans can stop him. John new Smith just like
you said, he had zero hit nothing during regulation and
then in overtime he goes four to forty five in
a touchdown. Where is he all game? They need to
get him more involved and a chan. Of course, they
may not run the ball real well against the Texans,
(02:15:29):
but he certainly will catch balls out of the backfield.
So I think those guys are in play for Houston obviously.
I think Stroud is a good start this week. I
think Miami's defense is overrated. I love Joe Mixon, and look,
this is Nico Collins' time. I mean, Nico Collins is
one of the top five receivers in the league. He's
going to need to be this week. He's going to
need one hundred yards in a touchdown if he just
(02:15:50):
checked the box scores. If he's at like sixty yards,
they're not winning.
Speaker 2 (02:15:55):

Mattin Ross return return on Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 2 (02:17:39):
All right, doctor Rono, with this to the bottom of
the hour seven one three, two, one two five seven ninety.
If you want to chime in seven one three two
one two five seven ninety heavy TB touchdown dependent non PPR.
Pick two of these. Jamison Williams, Quinton Johnston, Neighbors, Higgins
westbrookie Keene, all right, couldn't give me that slowly again? Yeah, well,
(02:18:03):
for sure, Jameis and Williams, Quentin Johnston, neighbors, Higgins Westbrook
to the Keene.
Speaker 7 (02:18:11):
All right, so definitely one thousand percent. Higgins Neighbors is okay.
But then I hate I hate Tommy to be now.
I just think it's a bad fit. Quentin Johnson can't
really catch the football. I'll go Jamison Williams in a
game that should be high scoring. So let's go Jamison
and Tea. But by the way, empt what was that
in Vegas? I saw that picture on the on social media.
(02:18:32):
Do we figure out what that was?
Speaker 2 (02:18:34):
That is a massager?
Speaker 8 (02:18:36):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (02:18:36):
Okay, very nice?
Speaker 7 (02:18:38):
We love Vegas okay, oh, we love Vegas RDO.
Speaker 2 (02:18:42):
We know we have to do next summer were to
bring people out. We should have like a football Fantasy
football expo. Bring you out there, go out of the
clubs after that talk fas draft circa. Yeah, I know
we would ross and I went last year. We had
a great time. You should go and join us next time.
All right, here we go, Well the summer league. Nice MHK,
(02:19:03):
no MHJ. Excuse me, DK Cook or Johnston pick one
of those four.
Speaker 7 (02:19:13):
I like Marvin Harrison Junior a little bit. I don't
like DK Metcalf at all. I think that game is
kind of messy and I want to stay away from it.
Cook is going to have to do something on catching
some passes because it's hard to run in the Lions.
I don't hate him. It's the highest scoring game. The
problem with Marvin Harrison is you gotta watch Kyler Murray.
I mean, look, I should I say this on air?
(02:19:34):
Yes I can. I had a slight parlay if you
will for twenty five dollars. I want to won me
fifteen K. I hit five out of six parts. My
only part that miss is Marvin Harrison. Thanks so much,
Kyler Murray. You know, so I don't trust him, that's
the problem. So I would say cook because I like
the game.
Speaker 2 (02:19:53):
All right, there you go. Let's go to the phone
talk to some people. Josh on seven ninety at one
twenty three for doctor Royal. Josh, which your question? Please?
Speaker 8 (02:20:02):
Hey rodo we missed you yesterday?
Speaker 27 (02:20:03):
We sincerely hope all as well. Thank you for your
time today, sir. I got a doubleheader question for you.
We just heard you say that King Kate is a
starter this week? Now, would you start him over Kate Aughton?
Speaker 7 (02:20:15):
Probably not. I like Kate Aughten. They play a lot
of zone coverage the Chargers. King Kate is fine, but
I think this feels like a Cooper week. This feels
I mean, they're going to get Shakir involved, even though
I don't love the matchup. Is what King Kate feels
to me?
Speaker 8 (02:20:28):
Like four for forty, where.
Speaker 7 (02:20:30):
I think Aughton has higher touchdown equity, so I'd go
with him.
Speaker 8 (02:20:34):
Perfect, Thank you, sir.
Speaker 20 (02:20:34):
And then I have.
Speaker 27 (02:20:38):
Wide receivers, four of them. Which two would you start
Brian Thomas Junior, Brian Robinson Junior, Ridley or Metcalf.
Speaker 7 (02:20:46):
All right, So Robinson is a really good start this
week against the Saints, so I mean he should be healthy.
I love him, but Ridley and Brian Thomas are both
in play. I would edge toward Brian Thomas. The Jets
defense has been beat Yeah, they've really been bad, and
if that game could shoot out a little bit, it
all depends on Mac Jones. So basically I'm trusting Mac
Jones and my trusting will levels. I don't want trust
(02:21:07):
either of those guys. I'll lean towards Thomas. So Thomas
and Robinson is a must play because I think he
goes for one hundred yards in a touchdown. And whoever
you think more of Ridley or Thomas, I probably would
click the button on Thomas, but it's close.
Speaker 2 (02:21:20):
Brendan and Magnolia on seven ninety at one twenty four high.
Speaker 28 (02:21:23):
Brendan, Hey, guys, a couple of questions. So first, normally
would never even ask this question, but based on matchup,
thinking about Daniels or Winston, and then as far as
my flip looking like Mooney is obviously probably not a
(02:21:45):
not a decent pick, so that I'm trying to decide
between Stevenson and Hopkins.
Speaker 7 (02:21:51):
All right, so let's figure this out Mooney. I don't
love this week. I think last week was a Mooney week.
I don't necessarily like him on the road, especially against
the Raider. Is there gonna have Jean, They'll lose Drake London,
so let's stay away from him. Here's the deal about
Romandra Stevenson. When the Patriots are winning, he is highly
involved in a really great play. When they're losing, they
(02:22:12):
barely use him. Okay, It's as simple as that. So
it's do I trust the Patriots to win this game?
Speaker 2 (02:22:19):
I don't.
Speaker 7 (02:22:19):
I don't trust the Patriots to win this game. I
think it would be an interesting game, but I don't
trust them to win. So I think I'm playing Hopkins now.
On the other side, Jane Daniels is a must play.
He is. He's a musk play right now. It's not
that Winston's bad, but I think that the Chiefs will
figure out a way ball possession. That game could be
I don't know, twenty four to twenty something like that
with the Chiefs and Jamis Winston. So I would lean Daniels,
(02:22:42):
who has such I mean, if he runs sixty yards,
if you runs a touchdown in you're gonna wish.
Speaker 9 (02:22:46):
I had him.
Speaker 2 (02:22:47):
All right, Let's go to King one next, Sata Rich
on seven ninety for doctor Rhodo.
Speaker 9 (02:22:52):
Go ahead, Rich, Hey, I got too far here, Golf Ortua,
and then one starts between Sutton Higgins and him.
Speaker 7 (02:23:02):
Okay, so god, I'm writing the guy's name down. So
here's the deal. I like Tua, but I always start
golf at home. It's a rule. You literally start golf
at home. The lines play better at home. The Lions
will have a good week. You start Jared Goff. He
will never hurt you, right, he will never hurt you.
He can only help you. A bad Jared Goff day
is fourteen points and a good Jared Goff day is thirty.
(02:23:24):
On the other side, I love Courtland Sutton this week,
and I really do like t Higgins. He was almost
one of the locks of the week. I just feel
like they're going to go to him. He just got
a new agent, new contract. Everything is pointing into t
Higgins having a big week.
Speaker 2 (02:23:39):
Thank you for that. Let's go to Mike on seven
outing for Doctor Ronald.
Speaker 12 (02:23:42):
Mike your question, please, yes, sir, real quick, Jamas Wiston,
Sam Dawson, Jared gall and Dan I got a two
receivers a capl Raton beat Thomas A J.
Speaker 29 (02:23:56):
Brown our neighbors.
Speaker 7 (02:23:59):
All right, so listen, I think out of those once again,
I'm gonna stay with Jared Goff. I think he's got
a great match up in the highest scoring game by
like five points. So if I'm gonna lose, I'm gonna
lose with Gied Goff as my quarterback.
Speaker 2 (02:24:11):
Look.
Speaker 7 (02:24:12):
AJ Brown, great receiver with a quarterback that doesn't want
to throw in a tough matchup. I think Ridley and
Thomas have better matchups this week.
Speaker 2 (02:24:21):
So the only way A J.
Speaker 7 (02:24:22):
Brown gets the football is if they feed him that football,
and they forced feed him that football. Just doesn't feel
like something.
Speaker 2 (02:24:27):
That the Eagles are going to do.
Speaker 7 (02:24:29):
So I'll go Golf, Ridley and.
Speaker 2 (02:24:30):
Thomas GEO for seven ninety's doctor Rodell, go ahead, Gell.
Speaker 30 (02:24:35):
Hey, good afternoon, guys. Just let me see if I
have to start too out of these four between Garrett Willson,
Say Flowers, Marvin Harrison or Geek Canoy's in, I'm kind
of not leaning towards him.
Speaker 7 (02:24:53):
But who was the first one, Dude, who's the first jock?
Speaker 30 (02:24:56):
I'm sorry, it's the Garrett Wilson say Flowers.
Speaker 7 (02:25:01):
Yea, yeah, yeah, I'm gonna go yeah, yeah, I appreciate you, Jille.
I love Za Flowers. This week they play a lot
of single high the Giants. Zay feasts on that. I
like Zay. I like Garrett Wilson. You know, Aaron Rodgers is,
you know, putting up his stats right now, trying to play.
Speaker 2 (02:25:16):
Maybe one more year.
Speaker 7 (02:25:17):
Probably not gonna be for the Jets. It's gonna be
for somebody in the NFL. I like Wilson. I like
to say a ton.
Speaker 2 (02:25:23):
All right, a couple more calls, real quick, Let's go
to Sam Marcus and Lane for doctor Rodel Go ahead, Lane, Hey,
quick question feeling Sutton or Flowers.
Speaker 7 (02:25:34):
Wow, that's a tough call the I'm gonna go Sutton
because I think the game will be the closest and
Sutton will be on the field for a ton of snaps.
Speaker 8 (02:25:43):
I love Za Flowers.
Speaker 7 (02:25:45):
However, this game could be thirty nothing at the end
of the third quarter and then all of a sudden,
Zave Flowers is not doing anything. I think feeling is
in play, But man, do I really want to be
watching a lot of that game? I probably don't. I'll
lean Sutton slightly over feeling all right.
Speaker 2 (02:26:00):
And lastly, let's go to another GEO in it Tasca
see to go ahead Geo.
Speaker 12 (02:26:06):
Hey, guys, sharbon Ay, Kank Bigsby or Najie Harris from
our RBT one spot.
Speaker 7 (02:26:13):
Yeah, for sure, Charbonay is fantastic. And if he's playing,
what they do is they just feed him, right, I
mean how many times he touched the football. It's all
about opportunity. In the NFL, you get twenty touches, good
things are going to happen, especially in fantasy football. So
give me all Sharpena I can handle. I do like
Tank though he looks a lot better and he looks
like the starter there.
Speaker 2 (02:26:31):
But I'm going sharpenna all right, here we go, the
time for us to get Doctor Roto's knockdown drag out
number one can't miss prospect of the week in Fantasy football,
we present to you dtor Rotos. A lot of the week.
Speaker 7 (02:26:45):
We've covered a lot of these guys. I do like
Brian Robinson from the Commanders. But my favorite play of
the week Derrick Henry against the Giants. The Giants are reeling,
Baltimore is gonna come in probably put up thirty thirty
four points. Henry might have one hundred and twenty one
hundred and thirty one and two touchdowns by halftime. So
Derrick Henry absolutely the lock of the week.
Speaker 2 (02:27:04):
And there you go. That's the lock of the week.
And dot wils Oh yeah, I got to contend in there.
How are we gonna find you between now and Sunday afternoon?
Speaker 7 (02:27:14):
You can certainly find me out on exit d R
R O t O. You find me at my website,
Doctor Roto dot com, and if you listen to Serious
XM Fantasy Radar, you can find me eight to ten

rest of your weekend, and hope that all is well
with you and your four next week.

Speaker 10 (02:28:57):
Listen to Sports Talk seven ninety on the free iHeart
Our radio app it's all your music, sports podcasts, and
talk free never sounded so good.
Speaker 2 (02:29:11):
Sports Talk seven ninety. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic who
said thanks but no thanks so I interviewed last week,
says the Cubs are close to acquiring Kyle Tucker from
the Astros that would have a package led by is
Ezac Perettes, Hayden wish Necki, and Cam Smith. Wes Necki
is a pitching prospect, Parretes is an infielder, and Cam
(02:29:34):
Smith is a third baseman, and Ken Rosenthal shortly after
that said it would be a three for one trade.
Looking at Twitter and again, nobody knows these things, but
just people. Just initial reaction is either the Astros got
well underserved on this if indeed is that's the call
that the trade, or the Astros need to get more
or the Cubs better get more than one year from
(02:29:56):
Kyle Tucker or they'll lose this deal. So typical Twitter fashion.
Half of hate, half will love the move. Shocking. Hayden
was nisky, by the way, twenty seven years old. Uh
what are these number? Oh? Did did Baseball Reference change
up their stuff? They put war first? Now that's cool.
(02:30:16):
Three point eighty six era in twenty eight. Game seven
starts last year at the age of twenty six eight
minus point three war that's great, but overall, I mean,
why is that so bad? As eras under four and
his whip wasn't bad? Interesting? Yeah, Igat, I don't know
anything about these players and Ross and Monday. When the
(02:30:37):
deal is done, it looks like it's gonna be done.
Maybe if it happens during the ATM I'll be really pissed. Seriously.
They don't deserve it.
Speaker 3 (02:30:44):
Don't act like you're shocked.
Speaker 2 (02:30:47):
I don't know. They get every deal. By the way,
announcement on Tuesday from ten to noon. I'll be joined
by Brian bogus Sevic on the show. Oh nice, that's
a good get, right, there's a great get.
Speaker 8 (02:30:57):
Well.
Speaker 2 (02:30:57):
So we'll be breaking down baseball like a mudda. Especially
will we be breaking down at Kyle Tucker trade Matt
sounds like it will there be a Monday, believe it
or not, all things Hayden West necks Nesky whatever West
next Ski Okay, Hayden haydens Nesky. No, I don't think
(02:31:19):
it doesn't work. Cam Smith, noa paradic Isaac prett Is
it's Isaac right, you're gonna go with Easac. Okay, all right,
more on this shortly right now, time out for some
non Florida stories. Prost. I'm gonna go first, and it
(02:31:44):
involves a cold beverage and then they'll spend money on
the show, so I'll rhyme it. Okay, Biller bite. You
ever had a biller bite?
Speaker 3 (02:31:54):
I've had several dozens.
Speaker 2 (02:31:56):
They call it the Champagne of beers. I had one left,
so that's the no, the that's not the Champagne of
Beer's high life? Is the Champagna beer? Well, same company
put it that way. So Billerbeife uh has got a
new colonna. Have you heard about this?
Speaker 3 (02:32:13):
Yes, this was my story last week? But go ahead.
Speaker 2 (02:32:16):
Oh no, is it really high life too? You're you're
doing this all wrong. No, it's middle of light. It
was a middle light okay. My story is Oh my god. Okay,
so it is the champagne. But you know what, go on,
I'm gonna find another story. I'm not repeating myself out
of here, you guys, go.
Speaker 3 (02:32:32):
Well, I gotta make sure these people are from Florida.
Speaker 2 (02:32:34):
Uh, even though you know I've had this story for weeks.
Matt Okay, yes, uh, let me tell you about uh
Marjorie Fiterman and Bernie Littman into Philadelphia. The couple are
newly wents as they have just been betrothed in the
city of Philadelphia.
Speaker 3 (02:32:55):
What's special about.
Speaker 31 (02:32:56):
Them, Well, they have set a world record. They are
one hundred and two and one hundred years old and
have become the oldest couple and the oldest newlyweds in
world history.
Speaker 2 (02:33:16):
I'm guessing you can figure out where they met, Matt
if you'd like to guess Atlanta?
Speaker 3 (02:33:23):
No, phil like where?
Speaker 2 (02:33:28):
Yeah? Actually, they they were both drinking, but they were
tailgating so hard and they were chugging beers and then
that's when their eyes met. No, at a nursing home.
Marjorie and I like your Eagles game much better. Meeting
at a nursing home after both of their longtime spouses
had passed away. They dated for nine years before deciding
(02:33:50):
to tie the knot and become the oldest couple or
oldest newlywed couple in world history. Away from non floor stories,
no hit the sounder. Who No, that's one go on,
(02:34:13):
that's two, Let's keep going. That's three. Let's one more
for the good of the game.
Speaker 32 (02:34:24):
Might it even be Yepkay the Max, I think you're right.
I mean, this is earthshaking, even though we knew it
was imminent, and.
Speaker 2 (02:34:39):
It happened during our show. Sucking a tube, suck it.
It's the last segment of the show.
Speaker 7 (02:34:44):
We get no damn.
Speaker 2 (02:34:46):
We can literally have Believe it or not coming up next.
We can skip it and take calls it and take calls. Yeah,
because we have the topic is Las Vegas. We're gonna
be here multiple times in next ten years, so we'll
be fine. Yeah. Actually some of them Kyle Tucker to
the Cubs for or Isaac whatever, Paris Hayden, West NECKI,
(02:35:11):
Cam Smith done, Kyle Tuckerkay Passing said, or who has
those three guys? Is Rosenthal? Uh, that's Chadler Rome, Okay,
Jeff Passing And I'm going to assume that Ken Rosenthal
has it. I saw a deal done from Passing. He
did not have the players, but yeah, Chandler has the
has the players Okay, Paradis wes Nesky and Cam Smith done? Wow,
(02:35:42):
this is what Kyle Tucker is a Chicago Cub and
is no longer a Houston astro. Your reaction, Let's just
do it. Let's take a time out. What's your reaction?
What is your reaction? Seven one three two one two
(02:36:02):
five seven ninety seven one three two one two five
seven eight your very first opportunity because other stations in
town are talking about dumbass football right now, I want
to talk about the base. This is the biggest off
season trade the Astros have made since win Rossie because
they didn't trade for uh Josh Hater. I mean you, well,
(02:36:27):
you acquisition or trading away? It would be Erlander, I
guess in twenty three. Yeah, the biggest send away. How
about that one? Yeah? I mean since win Kyle Tucker
for Isaac or eastak peretis Hayden Westnecky cam Smith seven
one three two one two five seven ninety What is
(02:36:51):
your reaction? You get the very first opportunity to talk
about it in just a couple of seconds. After I
tell you about sethis fine jewelry, We're going to your
phone calls. After I tell you about Sethi's fine diamond
selection of the highest quality, from engagement rings, the diamond earrings,
to tennis bricelets, tennis necklaces, so much more. The holiday
sales going on right now at Sethie's Fine Jewelry. The
(02:37:12):
holiday sale is forty percent off. That's right. You can
make her sparkle this season with Sethi's Fine Jwelry. They're
looking on Voss Road between Sample lee Pen and West Simmer.
You're gonna love those great people over there with forty
percent off a huge diamond selection of earrings and jewelry
and all different sorts. So head on down there to Sethi's.
Treat that speciality in your life this holiday season. Forty
percent off Voss Rope between Sample Leap and West Simmer.
(02:37:34):
That's Sethie's. Tucker hits it in the year pretty deep
to right field.
Speaker 1 (02:37:39):
Here King talking well, looking on sayle U King things Tucker.
Speaker 2 (02:37:47):
This is Kyle Tucker.
Speaker 21 (02:37:48):
The Sports Talk seven to ninety is your home for
Astros Baseball.
Speaker 2 (02:37:57):
To two again and Tucker hits it in thew year
pretty deep to right field. That sends back McKenna at
the wall looking up, say a letter. Kyle Tucker gets
the Astros a lad with a grand slam seven to
six Houston one hundred miles per hour from.
Speaker 33 (02:38:17):
Bautista and more than that from Tucker to right field
and the Astro stunham Tucker's fifth Grand Slam of his career.
Speaker 2 (02:38:35):
Alright, let's go. We got about six minutes in this shop.
Oh raw Snow, We're not doing this, are we? H
Kyle King Tuck Preston's more talented brother, significantly more talented.
(02:39:03):
Uh noah in Mississippi. Noah, Kyle, Tucker's gone. Your thoughts
please not dead.
Speaker 11 (02:39:09):
But just I don't like it.
Speaker 8 (02:39:12):
I don't like it.
Speaker 11 (02:39:12):
I feel like our team has just gone completely.
Speaker 34 (02:39:15):
It has been broken apart. I don't like how we've
been spending our money. We let Springer walk because we
say we're gonna sign Korea. We let Korea walk because
we say we're gonna have to sign Bregman. Now we
haven't signed Bregman yet because the said oh we're prosibly
gonna sign is Tucker. Tucker has obviously not signed, and
I don't know what we're gonna do with Bregman. Crane
hasn't spent any money. I don't get what is promintive.
(02:39:35):
I get not signing older players for long contract, but
Tucker is as a generational player that we've actually have,
So I just don't get what point is letting him go.
Speaker 2 (02:39:44):
Gotta put your money where your mouth is.
Speaker 11 (02:39:47):
You say, we're the windows open. As long as he's here,
it looks like that windows closed.
Speaker 2 (02:39:53):
So that's all I got. I know why you are.
I don't even know. If Kyle would have gotten a
decently blank check, he would have made a difference. I
just think he wanted to go somewhere else. I just did.
I'm not saying he was unhappy, just like you know what,
you sent me to arbitration almost I'm gonna get you back.
He got him back, and he has spent money ross.
(02:40:19):
That's just that's that's just a line of thinking. That's
not true. He may not have spent the money in
the best spots, but he has spent money. He went
and got a high end first basement. We thought, jose
A Bray you he went and got a high end
closer and was good, not great. He went and got
justin Vernlonder. He's put a lot of money in jose
Al two Bay's piggy bank. He put a lot of
money in your Alvrez's piggy bank. I mean, he's this
(02:40:40):
is not a miser the owner. But there's a certain threshold.
That threshold does not include one Kyle Tucker Reagan inclined
at one two high. Reagan, Hello, how you.
Speaker 29 (02:40:53):
Doing a good beautiful dat fan?
Speaker 4 (02:40:56):
Huh uh?
Speaker 2 (02:40:58):
I mean it's a different day for sure.
Speaker 29 (02:41:02):
What is y'all starting lineup right now? Without Kyle Tucker?
Speaker 9 (02:41:06):
I mean, uh?
Speaker 7 (02:41:08):
In it?
Speaker 29 (02:41:08):
Last year, Dana Brown, he said Kyle Tucker will be
an astro for life?
Speaker 8 (02:41:15):
I mean, how does that deal? Now?
Speaker 2 (02:41:17):
That was he was just that was lip service that
nobody believed in when he said that, right, you were right?
You you believe that, right, Ragan? You didn't believe it,
did you? Yeah? Of course? Okay, okay?
Speaker 29 (02:41:27):
And I also bound out Kyle Tucker's wife, she's from Chicago.
Is he going to get a hometown discount now?
Speaker 2 (02:41:37):
No, there's no more hometown discounts. Thanks for the phone call, Pratties.
By the way, maybe your first basement next year of
sports over? Are you ready for that?
Speaker 8 (02:41:47):
Sure?
Speaker 24 (02:41:47):
Why not?
Speaker 2 (02:41:48):
That's it?
Speaker 8 (02:41:48):
Upgrade?
Speaker 2 (02:41:49):
Is he gonna play? Where is where?
Speaker 3 (02:41:51):
Replace you?
Speaker 8 (02:41:53):
Well?
Speaker 2 (02:41:53):
They're a you couldn't put the first the first base
contributions last year just weren't good enough. They just weren't right.
I mean, let's pat face facts. You had to get
an upgrade there, Roddie and Lake Jackson, say your farewells
to Kyle Tucker.
Speaker 9 (02:42:08):
Sure will Mitke appreciate y'all taking the call, and I'm
glad they broke on your show. Fantastic day. No outfielder,
you have no outfield now. You had one legitimate outfielder
that was a presence on the team. Now you have none.
And they're evidently not just And I haven't kept up
(02:42:28):
with the National League since we went to the American League,
so I'm not sure who these people are. But you
gave away the only contributing outfielder you had. You got
two center fielders that can hit a buck fifty, can
run into walls and catch a ball, can't throw, can't
hit this. This just sucks. Sucks all the way around.
Thank you, all right.
Speaker 2 (02:42:51):
Part of me Ross says this is happening today when
it could have happened a year from now. Does that
make any sense to you?
Speaker 9 (02:42:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:43:00):
It hurts. And I mean we can hear the callers
that we've ran through here really quickly that Yep, your
team is not better for twenty twenty four. They're not,
but you're hoping that the team is better for twenty
five twenty six, Because no, and all indications are yeah,
I'm sorry twenty six, twenty seven, excuse me.
Speaker 8 (02:43:19):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:43:21):
Clearly the indication from Dana Brown and the Astros was
it Kyle Tucker was not going to stay here, so
you had to do something. It wasn't premium. This is
not a premature move on the Astros part. This is
getting ahead of it, Frank, and I know you don't
want to hear that it's getting ahead of it. It
just is Wes and Humble one fifty five West, good afternoons.
(02:43:45):
Sake abye to Kyle Tucker, Hey.
Speaker 11 (02:43:47):
Man, let me give you some Stanardy talk here.
Speaker 35 (02:43:49):
Look, ten and fifteen year contracts in the Major League
baseballs are stupid.
Speaker 11 (02:43:53):
Hey, Kyle's gonna want a ten year contract.
Speaker 35 (02:43:56):
If you waited till next year, you would have got
less Cam Smith as the number seven prospect in the
Cup system Forreddi's hit two thirty eight nineteen and eighty
last year, which is similar to what Bregman did.
Speaker 8 (02:44:09):
You know?
Speaker 35 (02:44:09):
So maybe this's a sign that they're gonna ship Paretti's
for first and bring Bregman to third, keep Bregmant the third.
Speaker 11 (02:44:15):
But I agree with the last caller.
Speaker 35 (02:44:18):
We need help in the outfield, and I don't think
they're done, So everybody needs to kind of step back
from the ledge. Let Dana Brown work you were gonna
lose Tucker last next year.
