Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's put on the headset right now. He is, he's
got an entourage with him. Jay Glazer joins this.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I was just called babysitters, not entourage.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
I was just saying, Jay, I'm famous enough to have
an authorage, but I need a lot of babysitters.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
I was just saying, there's there's a lot of people
here on Radio Round. We've been coming for so many
years that you go, is that so and so? I
don't know if that's so and so. You're one of
the most like unmistakable. That's Jake Glazer when you see him,
you know.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
That hurricane glaze coming through a man. Yeah. First, it
first and foremost that's saying I'm the best looking guy here.
That's what I'm here. Yeah. Absolutely, Sometimes people go, is
that Brad Pitt, I get that a lot first and foremost.
I know you're from l A, and you.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Go, I'm from I'm no, no, I live in Luses
in LA and all that is everything good with with.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Fires and all that.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
We my wife who's right over here, Rosie we uh,
we evacuated three times in about five weeks. We had
three different fires. The last one I was just scare
the crap out of us. Our old house burnt to
the ground. We got out of him. We have a
new house, which fantastic. But we're we were, uh yeah,
we were. We were evacuated for quite a while, and
(01:03):
then when we got back, we kept kept turning our
power off. And but I got a lot of friends
who've lost literally everything and like everything. And actually my
wife did a beautiful thing. My wife, Rosie over her
own clothing stores called Varga, and at Fox we had
I think eight women who lost every And when I
(01:26):
say you lost everything, like the clothes you have on
your back is well you have, yeah, And she actually
outfitted uh everyone at Fox who did lose everything full wardrobes.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Again.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
They I don't know if you saw, but a couple
of weeks ago, you know, we have across the street
from our house, one hundred yards it looks like a
military base goes on for a mile and a half,
fifty four hundred firefighters stage.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
And I started going down. I'm bringing down.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
I'm part of this company called Jimmy Barr's Protein Bar,
So I started bringing that down. I started trying to
get mental health talks to them, just to lift them
up anything. And then Finally one day they're like, hey,
you know, we really need besides energy drakes and powery
this and that, we just want to watch football. Yeah,
And I said, I know someone who can make that happen.
And I called the CEO of Fox, Eric Shacks Fox Boards,
(02:15):
and I was like, dude, these guys just want like this.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Escape when they're on break.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
And by the way their shifts were going first, there
are forty eight hour shifts. And thinking about this too,
the bravery of these people, like they left their homes
and we saw people firefighters in that area from Israel
who flew in from British Columbia, from my wife from
his tiny town and idohole called Melbourne. We saw firemen
(02:41):
from there, from Wyoming, Colorado, you name. It is the worst
the times brings together the best of people. But actually,
in a day, Fox got ten TVs put up there
for them to watch all the playoff guys, not just Foxes,
and I ended up doing up my hit from down there,
and I had Dan Campbell and Dan Quinn FaceTime the
firefighters before their game. That's what's pretty cool. Yeah, I
(03:04):
appreciate you asked me.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah, Yeah, I just I knew, you know, we build
everything I hear about, you know, l A, oh, that's crazy.
Let's let's talk a little football.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
We're on in.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Houston, Texans have a new O. C tell me what
you know about Nick Kaylee. What are they getting in
the case.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
I like Nick kelly Man obviously, you know he was
with Sean McVay for a little bit and the Patriots
and but love his look. The culture that that Seawn
you know, teaches guys is fantastic.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
And you know there's a difference in.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Guy who just comes in and cault plays and somebody
who's gonna help develop and he's gonna help develop that
offensive line tight ends. Uh, the quarterback to quarterback's great,
but you always need developments a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
So I do I like, I think I'll do a
great job.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
Yeah, I got your rossback in Houston with you. J
thank you for coming on with us. And yeah, just
on that in the OC search. Just if you have
any insight as far as you know, Nick Cassario as
the general manager here in Houston. The relationship with Tamiko
Ryans not necessarily whose.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Call was Ziko is a stud? Yeah, that dude just
stood that dude is a stud.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Yes, I knew, I knew him as a player, and
again cultures everything. And I think a guy like that too,
I think they'll always kind of be in that in
the because of him, You'll like asan McVay, you'll always
or Kyle Shannon always be in the conversation for.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
As a contender. It's it's interesting. The offensive line, I mean,
it was, it was a problem. Yeah, I don't know
how you fix it. I mean, Laramie Tunzel's not getting
any younger, Jack Mason all that. But when you saw
the Texans this year, was that the glaring weakness and
protecting Stroud and giving him time.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
I thought a lot of it. I was kind of
looking at I was kind of confused. I'm like, man,
why is this? Why are they struggling so much?
Speaker 2 (04:49):
There?
Speaker 3 (04:50):
I was because I thought Sloak was good also ya
and just you know, it's interesting also about this league
works because Slowak probably could have gotten the head coaching
job last year if you wanted to. And so now
I need to learn a little bit more, which I
really liked about it. And then it just goes to
show you how fast things can change.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Yeah, it's it's it's that's I always say, like when
you're the hot thing, go jump because you know.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
But at the same time, if you don't think you're ready,
it's like it's a slippery slope.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
I'm not ready.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
I'm gonna crap out here in four years and never
gonna get another shot. I think most guys have confidence, like, hey,
I'm not ready, but I'm gonna be here for another
couple of years where I can learn nothing.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
You're gonna get fired the next year. Yeah, But that's
the NFL, man, It's you.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Know, it's it's the only And I think that's why
people of us have so much, so many close relationships
in the NFL, because there's no other job. Like if
some accountant screws up your taxes, the whole worlds not
talking about and sit fun on radio the next day
and Fox that weekend, and you know they're not telling
your kids, Hey man, your dad screwed up these taxes,
(05:47):
Like you know, you know, if you're screwed setting up
at a restaurant, it's not out there constantly, So I think
it makes people to leave a lot closer.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
What uh where would you rank Stroud in terms of quarterbacks?
I mean he was he was top of the World
last year and this year. I don't want to say
he regressed because it was still a really good year.
But like, where would you put him if you're ranking quarterbacks?
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Still to put.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Yeah, put him in somebody that startup a franchise around absolutely, Okay.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Yeah, yeah, it's it's it's just it's it's tough to
be super critical of him and say sophomore slump because
his numbers were still very good, but they had all
all those issues. When you look around at the AFC
South where, I mean, do you still think it's Texans
moving forward? Me, Jaguars, We're gonna see what they're gonna do. Titans,
I mean maybe a quarterback real bad. We'll see what
they do with the top pick. But what do you
(06:29):
make of Texans.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Still right up there? Absolutely, you gotta knock them off.
Yeah right, But you know there's gonna be you know changes. Look,
I can't say because I don't know who the Titan
quarterback's gonna be. Yeah right, I think Liam Cahn will
do a great job. I got to know Liam really
well because he lived with McVeigh.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeah, so.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Sean and I spent a lot of time together. Seawan
was really one of the first guys in the league
I helped with mental health when I really started opening
up about stuff, and then he needed and didn't realize
he knewed that because Seawan like, the worst thing that
ever happen and in Sean's life is that he didn't
win the Super Bowl in his second year ever as
the youngest head coach in the history of the NFL.
(07:06):
And then and his parents look like the freaking people
you see in pictures and target and the picture frames.
Like he he don't get drama. So we had to
work through a lot and and it's made him a
much much better coach. So like Liam lived with him,
I got to meet, like really know him.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
I think Lilliam's gonna I think Liam does a really
good job.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
The uh you mentioned mental health. That's one of the
big things that you've been focused on and part of
the reasons why you're here. Lets let us know, because
it's funny when we were kids growing up, like you
would joke, oh he's got ADHD. He can't sit still,
he can't pay attention and all this. Now we're way
more sensitive to it and now and talk a little
bit about it.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
How old are you I'm forties. Okay, so I'm fifty five.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
I got diagnosed in nineteen eighty nine, so there was
no oh, he's got he has IDIOHD, Like no one understood.
I got taken to Princeton University to get tested, and
I used to have to go tell my teachers, Hey,
I got to step out and take a pill, or hey,
and I need So I go and talk to teams
now a lot about this, about what depression feels like,
(08:07):
what anxiety.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Feels like, what ADHD feels like.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
In ADHD, I tell these guys, it's like you feel
like you're drawing them. And the only way for me
to get a breath of fresh air is disrupt the
class or to speak out, or to not pay attention
to like draw a game on my pad.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Or just walk out the class.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
And like you think I want to get trouble every
week in my life, Hell no, But I didn't have
the capability not to. And I tell these coaches now,
I said, these players, like they told me how to
learning just say disability. Growing up, I didn't have a
learning disability. I just didn't learn the way you guys
taught right me. I've coached you know, tons of guys
in mixed martial arts. I got to teach differently. I
got to coach differently. You have a general consensus, but
(08:46):
I've got to make sure that you know, I connect
with everybody there, and growing up that wasn't the thing.
So with all my mental health struggles, I've tried a
million pharmaceuticals, and at least for the depression and anxiety,
none of them works.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
So I've had to find other skills.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
But for the ADHD, you know, I could put in
stimulants early, and when you have depression, those stimulants it
does not work well with you and a guy like
me too. It brought out a lot of bad stuff.
And because I'm able to talk about it now though,
I have more options than I ever would have had.
So Kilbury got brought to me and they're like, it's
(09:23):
non stimulant, non stimulant, like you could take it to night.
I'm like, I could take it at night and it doesn't.
I call it the Kilbury Comet. Calms you down at night.
It gets the roommates in my head to stop, a
million of them to stop talking and and all that stuff,
and I'm able to focus and look look on fox
I don't use teleprompter. So when you got ADHD, and
you know, before I had Kilbury, there's a lot of
(09:44):
things your your brain works too fast and you're just
like moving it. Now I am able to focus so
much better. But also like I love talking about it.
It's like, yeah, I'm able to be of service and
give it word to people so we don't feel screwed up.
And you know, I've tried to figure out too where
my ADHD and my depression of anxiety became my superpower
and where I could weaponize him. So if I weaponize him,
(10:07):
they're my advantage. I'm not ashamed anymore. And that's why
I'm really trying to get people to understand.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
To him, well, it's very cool. He is Jay Glazer.
One more for you, real quick. Just give me a
quick thought. Super Bowl, how wis I mean? The two
best teams? I mean, couldn't ask for anything better?
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Man. I know Patrick maholl has done, but I don't
know what he can't do, so until he shows me otherwise, man,
I can't go against him.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Jay, thanks so much for the time. I really appreciate
