Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Drink Champs, the production of the Black Effect
and I Heart Radio and it's drinks, motherfucking podcast. He's
a legendary queen's rapper. He's like Green is your boy

(00:21):
in O r He's a Miami hippop pioneer up his
DJ e FN. Together they drink it up with some
of the biggest players in the most professional unprofessional podcast.
And your number one sorts for drunk drinks. Mother is
New year' z. That's time for Drink Champs. Drink up Mother?

(00:48):
Would it good? Be hope? You just want to see
this your boy in O r U, d j e
FN and this miditam of crazy Wall motherfucker Drink Champs Radio.
Make some Now this guy's here that we got today.
We talk about doug motivation, We talk about the hustler's hustler.
We talk about a man that's grind after grinds, staying

(01:10):
the state, relevance, stay everywhere, stay with a hit record,
hit album, classic album, every whenever he wants to come.
I thought this a mixtape was about to talk about
but they said no, this is a full fledged album.
Last time we had him on, we thought he was
going to depart from his label. But they're here and
this is going down. He is constantly. He's a bat

(01:33):
Award winner just like us. That's right, nominated for four
times the Grammys. But like I said, this is one
of the real ones. So we're gonna stand up. We're
gonna salute him at off top ef. We're gonna give
him his flower first thing we do first, the first

(01:53):
thing we're doing this because then your third time, this
is yeah career, they don't like it's better than the
granmy t I'm gonna I'm gonna go ahead, pop my
champagne to be you know what I'm saying. So jeez,
you know I'm going through your photography. Um man, you

(02:17):
got hit after hit after hit. You man, you put
in a lot of work. Oh but have you ever
like came close to your career like people try to
cancel you? Of course? Really yeah all the time, I
think this morning didn't happened though I had a lifetime script.
It's solid so um but the only the only thing

(02:39):
that kept me from getting canceled, you know, even though
they couldn't. And that's what the whole camp in the snowman.
She came right in the schools. Yeah, I mean it
started there. You was like the first cancel, I forgot
that and I didn't even understand that because I was like, damn,
how y'all gonna stop people from wearing a T shirt?
You know what I mean? So that was confusing. But
as I went onto my career, are to realize, like

(03:01):
when you make decisions that you know it's gonna better
you or your team and the people around you, everybody
might not like that, you know what I'm saying. It's
just like is that crabs in the barrel syncerome. It's
just like, you know, everybody ain't gonna grease, so it's like,
let's cancel them. But see what they didn't know is
they put me in the position anyway. The streets put
me in the eisence and the streets. We don't cancel people.

(03:23):
You just you just expire. Know what I'm saying. You
go to the penitentiary or you go into that wooden box.
You know what I'm saying. I dodged one, which was
a penitentiary. So you know, I mean, you know, Snowman
is a mortal baby. It's like, this is real, this
is this is what it's about. You know what I'm saying,
I leave by example and and the moves that I
make so people like or the so so the real

(03:45):
the real ones like you an't gotta live by nobody
rules or nobody box you in because that's the standard
for them. And people want you to be the old
U all the time, so that makes them feel comfortable
being we all. You know what I'm saying, because I
couldn't sit down and talk to the old nor. He
probably had like five choppers right here. You different dues,

(04:07):
So let's this is this is your own Yeah, your
name is no. I'm partnering up with some people out
of France. Okay, it looked like some friend ship. We
got coney jack, we got gin, we got vodka. Yeah,
not all the expiracy, y'all give it up for that, y'all.

(04:28):
And if y'all didn't know my history when it comes
to drinks, so first I had that, I'll be no,
but I had a great Goose situation. I had a
great Goose. Yeah, I had to deal with great Goose
and I peeped the earl's Like, so, y'all want to
give me a little money to go out here and
push your brand, but it's not mine, you know what
I'm saying. And where I come from, it's like that's

(04:48):
like somebody give me, someone can sign me. That's not mine,
you know what I'm saying. So I wanted my own
brand and when I when I got out of that deal,
I want to sat down with my my my business partner,
which one of my mentors, and we built Avian up
and Solda to panoa card and I got your face.

(05:11):
So yeah, but it happened because I was like, oh
no about this rap ship um, but it talking me
because he went on to do uh Terramundo with The
Rock okay and Proper Thirdteam with Connor McGregor, and I
want on to do this with what I learned from him.

(05:32):
So it's just like if you come from while I'm from,
it's like having the whole damn Lioker Stoke, you know
what I'm saying. You know what I mean? Like you
got gin Cone Yak and vodka like you know, so yeah, good, good,
good move dogged in the Proper Thirteam. You ever tasted
that it's horrible, Yes, it's horrible. It's horrible. Whiskey a
Japanese whiskey guy. So I don't really like Scot the

(05:56):
old Nory went drange. Yeah, yeah, I said. So I'm
listening to the Preface Club, I believe yesterday and it
wasn't today, yesterday, I think it was yesterday and Freddy
Gibbs come on and then they say something, they say, uh,

(06:18):
you know, uh, this is the first time you'll see
each other. I think you've seed each other in the
airport and you got to speak. So how was that was?
Was was that something that you wanted to do? I mean, this,
this is the thing, bro, I ain't never had no
issue with gids Man, you know what I'm saying. Always
knew he was gonna pop, He's gonna be on and
what I think about all this in music, we're really

(06:39):
ended this ship streating anything and just be a lack
of communication. And he was wrong, I think, you know,
and I respect that, you know what I'm saying, because
I just I didn't understand it. But from where he
was coming from, that's how he saw it. But if
we communicated, I could have been like, no, Bro, that
ain't that. Ain't that you know what I thought? This
is me looking from the outside and that's an inside

(07:00):
I'm looking out right. I always thought that. I think
that how Ross was at the time. It was like
you and Ross was taking shots at each other, right,
and it felt like Ross. I felt like me kind
of had Ross back, and it felt like maybe Gibbs
one of that same thing for you, or you wanted
that same thing from games. I think that's where the
communication kind of you know what I mean. I think

(07:21):
I think what happened on my end is that you know,
I was trying to get him a deal, which I
wanted him to have, but I couldn't. So it was
a lot of frustration there, you know, right right there,
and it's just like I didn't want to hold him up,
and I'm like, bro, I don't trying this every weight.
And it ain't that you're not gonna get a deal.

(07:42):
It just I can't get it. But you've been young,
and that it says, you know what I'm saying, like,
because you know what it is. It was really like
the hottest thing and I'm gonna be I learned a
lot about that too, because I was I was in
my own bag, you know what I'm saying. So I
was doing things, but I was still trying to keep
my career with that too, So I learned a lot
from that experience. But I do feel like, you know,

(08:05):
if you really got an issue with another grown man,
when you see him, you're gonna feel like that. I
didn't feel like that, you know what I'm saying. I'm
just like, what up? You know? We it's like, yeah,
because we had some good times. It was the miscommunication.
By the way, every situation I've ever been in in
the streets or music has been a miscommunication or either

(08:25):
somebody talking in between people. You know, like if I
tell you something, you tell him. By the time they
get over there, it's a different, different and he's like,
he said what you know what I'm saying, and that
ain't even what he said, you know what I'm saying.
So crazy to hear you say that. I'm listening to
your music, and then I think you admitted to you
being wrong in the Ross Beef like you was just
like like that was crazy for for for give us

(08:48):
to say that to you. But then I'm listening to
your music and I'm like, oh, ship, we kind of
went through. I feel again this miscommunication agive miscommunication because
again I'm walking down South Beach, you know, leaving the
club like three hundred deep. You know, I'm off that
we was drinking eight hundred back Quavo, I'm popping. Remember

(09:11):
this video King Malcolm X year coming out of cameo.
I'm just talking, you know what I mean, whoever wanted
to get it next thing? You know? So you know, man,
I'm not going it was an issue. Listen again with
no issue though when when I you know, Kelley shout

(09:35):
out to call made that right, call me that right.
I ain't gonna lie a little bit, but me just
hearing y'all together, like listening to y'alls like, damn, I'm
so glad they squashed their beef. That's the thing, like
it ain't you know, unless his family or money, ain't
no beef. It's just misscommunications. But that's the problem with
the coach of the way it is now, like you know,

(09:56):
they ready to kill something about nothing. What I'm saying,
like ain't no integrity and that you know what I'm
saying that we don't win the war as a country
several times and and once you've done doing what you
gotta do, you still gotta figured out, but you gotta
co exist what I'm saying. So even with the ross thing,
I would say like it just took hip hop. You

(10:17):
know hip hop because I knew hip hop because he
was I was working at his studio and an actually
hipop the person in Calip because I trusted Calip. And
he was like, y'all just want to get y'all to
sit down. But it's just like, you know, it's just
like I'm thinking to sit down. It's like me and
like fifty of my home, whoever you brave, Like, no,
you gotta sit down, just you and Ross. And he

(10:39):
was wanting to do the world Ready record, and um,
you'll tell you the irony of that. So CALLI sat
us down immediately. You know, you know, if you feel something,
if it's an issue, it was like, oh you don't
say I was like, no, I ain't you know what
I mean. So now we had that, so we chopped

(10:59):
it up. You know what I'm saying. Took I had
avion back then, So we took each other's you know,
two drinks, swapped them, mount two pictures like show lo right,
but then let me tell you the are any of that?
So we do the verse. You know what I'm saying.
You know, I went Turkey ham on that. But um,
he wants to shoot the video. He wants to shoot

(11:20):
the video in New Orleans. I think it's like Super
Bowl All Star Game. Why when they sending the treatment,
all the video is is us, us in people around
us shooting a bunch of real eight k's, but but
they got blanks at them. So I'm just like, so
you had the video see all the years, but it's
a already. So two people who just sat down, like

(11:42):
you know what it mean, it was like it was
it was tens you feel tense, real tests. But shout
out to Rolls though. Man like even we went on
tour and you know, got money together and we and
we shared game all the time because all of us
are not the same, you know what I'm saying. And
everybody got different skills set. You know what I'm saying.
He's good in his departments. You know I'm good in mine.

(12:03):
You have other people that are good in this and
when you able to sit down, chop it up and
talk about business and future ship. It's bigger than just music.
That's maturity to right, It's bigger than music. It's it's like, yo,
I'm doing this. You know what I'm saying. You know,
you know you want to support here you want to
get in and vice versa, and I think that's you know,
at the end of the day, really what it's about.
You know, we gotta gotta have money to live, money survived, money,

(12:26):
have fun, guys. So I'll tell you something. I see
you since you came into this game. Last time I
seen you, we was in l A. You were literally
by yourself and it was like it was the most
peaceful I've ever seen you in life, Like you were
literally comfortable dolo like you was. You walked in, you

(12:46):
had a little bit of uh tequilla, you were chilling.
We we had to you shoot the side, we had
to drink me, you and Fat Joe, and then it
was just you just stayed the whole time just by yourself.
Like I want to say, what is it? No, what's
it called? You en? Yeah? I felt like you had
a meeting with Phil Jackson. Yeah, and then you came
into this party like where's this new jeezy energy? Like

(13:09):
like I can feel peace. I don't need to get
like I never need a validation. But I think when
you stripped the stereo type down and go with what
it is being a man first, and I've been on
the front line with you know anything I've ever been
involved with. Some people were like Pablo esketball. I was like, yo,
chopo on the front line, you know what I'm saying.

(13:31):
And once I realized that, you know, when you get
them paying for enough lawyers, you know what I'm saying,
paying you know, lawsuits and all these different things because
somebody around you reacted to done something. You know, these
civil suits. You know you you know you're back against
the wall, people saying you know soon you're fifty sixty
million dollars. And it just dawned on me, like you
don't want to gonna make sure you straight, you know

(13:52):
what I'm saying. So I'm gonna take care of me.
I don't need to. I don't need to get on
the front line for you. That's that's on you now,
you know what I'm saying. So for me, I just
really roll because I know I know I got there's
so much as mean, like I ain't took nothing from nobody,
my man, integrity. You ain't going no hood, no block,
I mean from here to you know a lot of
them people knew me before wrap on forgetting money and

(14:15):
being who I said I was, so they have respect
for me. So even if I'm in somebody's city, I'm
still good because it ain't no bad energy. Like I'm
done something. It took something from you. And then when
it comes to you know the other stuff like the
rap ship, I don't move like a rapper. I'm moved
like a grown ass man. You know what I'm saying,
Like I ain't playing. He feels me like that. That's that.
You know, whatever it's gonna be, ain't gon in here,

(14:38):
you know what I'm saying. So, but it has to
be some type of super growth because I remember me
first time seeing you and in Atlanta would be a
math all over. I'm it's be a math shirts all over,
crazy all over, and like for you to go from
that be that comfortable there, and I can see that
same comfortability for you by yourself. I mean it's peaceful bro.
Yeah dear with everybody else issues man, because I'm not

(15:00):
there yet almost yeah yeah, it's like every three of
the sea. Yeah yeah. But I mean I just feel
like you just come to a point where you know
you're just you're good with you. Man. It's like that's
real love, bro, Like you got self love. You don't
really need no validation from the outside. I just feel

(15:22):
like that, you know what I'm saying. I know I
like to do what I like to do. Everybody might
not be into that. You know what, I want to
go to a party doll and sip you know, Champagne
Na with Nori without it being uncomfortable, Like, yo, who
is all this? You know what I'm saying. Your people
there and you know fat Joe come around so with
an extra And when you get to a certain point
of the game and you risk it all like I have,

(15:44):
and you don't want to lose it all. You don't
even want to play like that anymore because I don't
even take you one time you're a party, You're gonna
lose everything you got. I started to um appreciate being
lighter during during the pandemic because it would be like
you just it's just you and your lady, you and
your wife, no choice, You had no tricker to take
a test, no Atlantic. Yeah, Miami got wild. I'm gonna

(16:08):
be honest. Atlanta is loose like Atlanta. Listen to me.
I love Atlanta. We just came and we just won
awarded congratulations. Yes, so man, uh, you know, moving around

(16:29):
because let's gonna get the quicktim of slime, right, Okay,
we gonna get the quick time. Okay, so we because
because GZ been on twice, but we didn't have I
don't think we didn't have we didn't have quick Can
you explain the rules on the event. So we're gonna
give you two names, two things. You pick one, and
we're good. You picked both or neither the political correct question.

(16:53):
If you pick something, you're good good if you say
both or neither of them, meaning you opt out of
even answering. And we all drinking, but we drink with you.
We don't. We don't leave out. We're all drinking. Yeah, yeah,
we drink. We drink. What you do? What's it called
to getting? No? No, I ain't gonna lie. No, it's
out hall, it's all. It's not like something you drink

(17:15):
four m in Paris. You have some crapes. You know
what I'm saying. You pour it on your crepes? Are
you ready? Are you ready? You ready? Okay? Tupac or
d MX Tupac. Oh, that was easy? Okay? Jay z
or nas jay okay. Dungeon family or Woultan clans always

(17:38):
gonna left. You can never catch Atlanta with that question,
Shorty Red or drummer board Shorty Red, we might not
take shots serious, okay, outcast or you g k g
k okay, let's respect that young dog or future future,

(18:03):
little baby or Gunna little baby, no limit or cash money,
cash money baby, Magic City or Blue Frame Magic City. Man,
what're you're talking about? Take a shot anyway? He get? Yeah,

(18:24):
Oh you're taking a shot with y'all. Ain't skipping me.
We went to the Magic City. I can't throw the
money correctly. I mean, like my ship I saw. I know,
I'm in New York, Old School New York. Yeah, I
was throwing a lot, but it was just taking. Everyone
was looking at me work. Even my wife was like,
come on, get your life. You gotta flick the risk

(18:45):
a certain Yeah, it just wasn't working for me. That
you're gonna give. You're gonna get somebody a concussion if
you met him in Yes, I wasn't ready for a
concussion at the Reckless round. Are getting cool? Cool? Cool?
Were we're drinking? Okay? Ze Tobin or Metro booming uh,

(19:11):
Metro woman, Metrial Woman, Blue Jack City or Minister Society,
Jack City. I'm about getting money okay, okay, yeah, that's
right because society was okay, all right, A T L.
Jacob or eight oh eight Mafia, A T L Jacob,
DJ Collet or DJ Drama, DJ Drama. I got a

(19:35):
mixtape coming right now, mixtape coming. He's making this quick
time for real. Yeah yeah, when I got so so deafer,
bad boy, bad Boy Atlanta Airport gonna be real yea
or for yeah yeah, loyalty or respect lordy loyalty? Why

(20:02):
this is easy? It's the first yeah, yeah, you know
your yeah, but why why loyalty? Because if if somebody,
if somebody respects you, they're gonna be loyal. You know,
somebody can respect you would not be meaning like somebody
have love for you, still not be loyal. There's somebody's loyal.

(20:23):
There's there's something there like you might not even like me,
you know what I'm saying, but you're not gonna do
nothing to cross me out because you're like, you know
what he brought me the game where he showed me something,
he gave me a craft. It's just like, I ain't
gonna do that, you know. When I'm from you know,
I would rather you know, That's what kept me alive. Loyalty.
You know what I'm saying. That's what kept me out
of the intentiary loyalty Like my my, you know, my

(20:45):
older cousin that did fifteen years for me for ten
years came out. You know what I'm saying. That was
that was loyalty. Wouldn't He didn't throw me under the
bus because he respected me. He was loyal. He was like,
you got a shot. You know what I'm saying, You
you can be something. So I'm gonna go ahead and
you know, take this time to lay down and you know,
make sure you good. Some shout out to him for

(21:06):
making sure we're making sure y'all got a young jeezy
because if he wouldn't have sat down, there wouldn't be
no me. But I'm gonna take a shout. Okay, you're
still not ready to come on to being racist over here?
Giving me water man, I'm offended. Yeah, although I love

(21:29):
the water, so I don't know. I gotta love the boy.
You gotta love won jees Man. Salute to you, man,
Salute man, stot a little man. The team came. It
was ready hit a promotional truck out, So you ain't
playing around every time you come to dream and you
don't play around. Yeah, first time you came, you had girls.
What happened to the girls ship? They wouldn't loyal? Okay,

(21:58):
I'm just I just went to you this photography. You know,
I'm dyslexic. So yeah, so we got to Freddie Cibs question.
But back featuring Yo Gotti? Right, how did that record
come about? Got me and God? He came in the
game together. You know what I'm saying. You just performed
with his artist at the BT Bar. Shout out to

(22:19):
right there were on stage. Forget that, Yeah, yeah, don't
forget that. Yeah, shout out the guy, like you know,
like with Gotti man, me and got It and Me
and God he was sitting in the street like we
probably get money together. That's just how we cut. You know.
Inficent with Tennessee and George is like hand to hand.
But me and God, he came in the game together.
When I was running around doing my first mixtape, like

(22:42):
the streets, watching the Trap of Die. That's when I
met Gotti and Memphis. Yeah, I didn't know that that's
what he was doing. I knew him as a street
guy like he knew me. So we kind of just
grew up through the ranks and I always stayed in touch.
He's like, you know, like me and got to see
that we talk about life and don't really be about music.
You know what I'm saying as much and um, I
just hear him sometimes he hit me about um act

(23:05):
right and I was like yo, he said, you'll want
you to get on this record. I was like, yeoall
do it. But I just signed this artist from Cali,
which was why g I was like, you know, why
you gotta be on it with me? He was like,
who running? And I said one more thing. He was like,
what's that? I said, we got to shoot the video,
the video on the bay. We gotta go to East
Oakland and shoot the video. He's like, let's do it.
So all that happened like that. So that's the kind

(23:26):
of report we got. No no, no, no no. But
he but I brought y g Um. I had him
from death him and brought him over with me and
we did this first album. Um uh, his first album.
I think I don't might be two times platform it's
crazy my crazy life, okay, because I think it is
my crazy No No, he froosts. But you know, at

(23:51):
the same time, though you know, I didn't never want to,
you know, say that, but I kind of felt like
that was an accomplishment of his own to even put
up artists that was from you know, the West side
California in the mix that when you wanted to shoot
in the Bay though, because I knew it was gonna be.
I knew it was gonna be, like that's what you wanted.
You wanted that real the HiFi. And that was crazy
because it was like when we first went out there,

(24:12):
you know, were out there with the trailers, it was
like ten people out there. When the word got out
was like seven thousand. You know what I'm saying. People
are gonna dumb in the streets, you know, doing their
crazy you know, ghost riding the whip, you know what
I mean. So it shout out to the shout out
to the Bay for the love. But act right through
my act right but back. I hit Gotti up in

(24:32):
and he uh. I sent him the beat and he
just put a verse on it, and then I heard
something he said in the verse, and then I chopped
it up and made it the hook and then sent
it back and towing the verse on it, and then
I put the birth. So I put this song together.
So we didn't have a concept. He just said something
about back and I just put it together and talking
like that. Okay, so let's dress the other fit in

(24:54):
the boom. Let's go, let's talk about Snowfall. Oh yes, Snowfalls.
That's that's a new album. Because by the time that
it out, it's out. It's out. Shout out, shout out
the DJ Drama. You know, I don't know how Man
and Drama got in the game. Like, by the way,
Drama didn't even want to do my first mixtapes. You
know what I'm saying. He was back there. Yeah, he
was tight. He was he was living in I understand

(25:16):
how yellow. You know. I came over his house. He
lived in the hood on Boulevard for for You know
what I'm saying, I'm I'm getting money for real, say
four yeah, getting money for real. I'm living the buckhead
of the time, right, I live with you know, I'm
living you feel me. I come over his house. He
asked me taking my shoes, I'll be staying in the hood.
I'm like, it was just yellow and and and uh

(25:44):
we just he started doing my show takes for a
hundred dollars and and I kind of seeing what he
was doing. I was like, y'all want you to do
a tape and he was like, nah, you ain't had
enough shot. I got money that's hot, you feel me?
And we went back and forth for months and months,
and then he just finally decided to do it, and
I took him a bunch of songs over there and

(26:04):
we did Streets Watching, which was supposed to be called
geez Up at first, but I changed the name at
the last minute. And when I done it, I was
already working on Trappic Die, just to tell him that
you know what I'm saying, so then you know, of course,
I went back in. I was just like, I put
this this mixtape out and I started to see some
momentum and I'm like, how can I do it bigger?

(26:25):
So this is when I went and got all the
footage I had uh and made a DVD for trapp
A Die, and then put Trapper Die out with the
DVD and to this day like probably the best thing
I've ever done. I remember being in the studio with
Tricking Jazz Faye, like I'm about to put out a
mixtape and they're like, you're crazy, why would you get
your music away for free. You're talking. I was pressing
up you know, five six hundred thousand CDs and passing

(26:48):
them out. You know what I'm saying. It clubsed me,
you know what I'm saying, Bow and Yeah. I was watching.
I was passing out of my frad. I go park
my Friday to top, go out there with my little
crew to who's passing out your mix tape? Yeah, to
get signed or get yeah, okay, I just want to

(27:11):
make By the way, I was doing Boys in the
Hood shows with Boys in the Hood and we're just
getting paid a thousand dollars together. It was coming on
and it was so crazy. It's four of us in
the manager. You spent two hundred dollars a piece. I
got half a million dollars in the front of the carn.
I'm like, I'm confused, you know what I'm saying. I

(27:32):
was like, you know what I'm saying that I'm being real.
And it got to the point where I'll just let
them keep the money, because like it wasn't gonna do
me any good, you know what I'm saying. But I
wanted to my My pointing case was I wanted to
do anything to get myself out of the situation I
was in. And we gotta take a shot for that man,
we gotta take a shot. And and and so Drama

(27:54):
Drama did trapa di And I think trapad made Drama,
believe it. But it also, you know, saved my life.
It took me out the whole ship. That's that, that's that,
that's that watermelon, that my badood with that Solottle solo
to you. Godamn. But if college and DJ Drama was

(28:20):
the really battle on versus you're coming out with Drama,
I think I'm gonna be a space you have to
be on both sides. They've got records. But you didn't
pick drama though, because I picked drama because we got history.
Not you trying to say Collus the l a d
J though that's what you said. I look at Callia
Lord of Artists. Though for me, I'm Drama as an

(28:42):
artist too. Now I think they they're kind of in
the same vange. Drama don't like people not calling him
an artist. That's what this whole thing is about. Both
put out the album. Um, I rock with both of
them because Kelli gave a shot too, So I'm gonna
be clear about that. I don't know. We was all

(29:03):
at uh this club members called amnesia. Yeah about remember
I was there. You know the irony of you saying
record at the time, this is the irony of him
saying amnesia. You're saying, I remember, that's the exact opposite
of amnesia. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm trying to get
small buses. He came into buses and and I had

(29:28):
to get money over here with bun b which was
on the first mixtape Me and Drama that shout out
to bun Be. He was one of the first major
artists that gave me a feature. And I remember going
to the bathroom. I was like yo with a bathroom man,
and he's like upstairs, and I went upstairs because he
was in amnesia. And I go upstairs and all I
see is this I don't really know County, but I

(29:50):
don't know. I'm standing on the on the counter. He
going crazy everybody. So I go downstairs and I tell everybody,
you know, it's a whole another club up there. So
we all go up. There's cluding fabulous and all us
go upstairs. Fab go holiday, Cali, Cali give him the mic.
He rocks it right, So I'm standing beside fab I'm like, yo,
ask him, can I get the mic too? Cali give

(30:12):
me one of those you know what I mean? Like
who is this? You know what I mean? And I'm like,
I'm young jeezy, like who like won't know you. I'm
just like yeo, man. So I get my man to
give him the record. You know, I'm prepared to pay
him to play the record. This is just Temple his
birthday party. No this just remember that. Yeah, So I
think one of the homies told me I just play

(30:32):
his record. He played getting Money over here with m
with bumb This was probably one of the biggest records
in the Magic City at the time, and the roof
flips off and I remember Cali looking at me like,
oh ship. That's how me and Cali got cool because
he had to see it, and it just went from there.
In Miami was just like already my second home. But

(30:54):
that that ticket to another levels. Shout out to caliper
that what I'm saying, big, but what your money is
batting on even if you ain't gonna come out and perform,
We're either one. He really wanted to what would you
get as far as records, what would you bet who
would win college or drama? I mean it's drama using
mixtape record? How does this work? Drama? Think? So yeah,

(31:17):
it's all go. I'll tell you what like not not
because I'm I'm being neutral. I wouldn't want to see
because I don't know. Let's take a shot for that guy. Yeah,
I'm not. I'm being real, like so fair. I want
to see that he is he gonna be in a
huge JEZ record because it's yeah, that's that's That's what
I'm saying, because, um, but what you're saying, it has

(31:40):
to be his records, so that he made with you
though they can't just be a big stage and he
took from somebody else. I'm heah, he's I mentioned right
because Kelley has more bodies of work, probably more more
a little bit of bigger work, more studio albums. Right,
That's what I'm saying. So you got your shot ready? Yeah, okay,

(32:02):
already see what's going on. And that's the Montica. Now
what kind of the Monty Cristo, Monty Crystal I'm a
part of that's an anniversary. I don't know that part.
That's that big boy, that's it's about seven hundred stick
solid Jesus specific right, goddamn. M hmm. So do you

(32:29):
watch BMF. I haven't. I've seen some passing um producer
or produce, so all that on me, honestly consulting man,
because it's too tricky. I know everybody for real, everybody's

(32:49):
not gonna be happy with that, you know what I'm saying.
And for me, that's not my that's not my story
to tell you what I'm saying. So, I mean, it's
it's it's affiliated. Like whenever people here BMTH, they always
say the first artists of being math was Jez. What
I'm saying is not true, but it's not true, but
I mean the national level, he was the first artist. Yeah,

(33:13):
but he didn't break it. Was never a BMTH artist.
He was directly a Bright but you was affiliated me
and Meets was like YouTube, you know what I mean,
which means that I had you know, and I had
my crew. Um, so they kind of it was like
if you cool with Nori and all of us cool

(33:36):
with Nori, then you're cool with them, you know what
I'm saying. He got his own cool. Yeah, so it
was like that. Then we come together like United Nations, right, Yeah,
we got every gun and it was like we was
hanging and being in the same spot. But like me
and meets was really like like that though, meeting j
BO like them with my you know, my guys. But again,
like that's not my story, even when it goes back

(33:58):
to the fifty Boys and all that stuff, Like I
didn't even know him then, So that's not said Welcome
home T. That's right, you said Welcome home T. He said,
but you said some niggas might owe your money, but
that ain't me. Yeah, So what was what was that
line about? Because because there was people putting out narratives
as if I owed them, Oh, I don't owe them anything,

(34:19):
you know what I'm saying. I've never done business, that
type of business with them to owe him anything. So
I just think the narrative was starting to be, like,
you know, if it wasn't for that, it would be
no meeting, know what I'm saying. And I just didn't
understand that. And I don't really know Tea. I knew

(34:41):
of Tea because when I was kicking it with meat
him and Tea with like beef and beefing. Oh, you know,
like you know what I'm saying, And I'm glad they
worked it out beautiful. But the two times I met
T was what the two times talked to T was
the first time I was at a party with puff

(35:03):
boys in the hood, party in Dallas, and I mean
there were puff in versus the boys in the hood,
and somebody come over there, and you know, much of
being mensane isn't like yo, TI want to talk to you?
Me knowing what's going on with them, I'm like a
boy myself and say, okay, your hats hold up a second.

(35:26):
I got something to say. Addiction is a treatable disease,
but finding the right treatment can be overwhelming and confusing.

(36:11):
I'm like all right, cool, what's up? So I go
over there He's like, Yo, I love I love your music.
I love what you do fun with it, like keep
going and that's up, Hub. And that was that. And
at the second time, he was in the pend and
some ship happened in the street and he just called
a check on me, like, yo, you're good. You know,
I don't even worry about that the boot. And that
was two only two times, you know what I'm saying.
So when he came home, um, you know, you know,

(36:35):
I got the call like to you know, I'm like, damn,
that's what's up. But I didn't know him to like
reach out and be like, yo, you good because I
didn't know him, you know what I'm saying. But I
do I have love phone? Um oh, you didn't know
him to be like in his mix, you know, be
hit me. Of course I'm gonna pick up the phone
because that's that's the bro. But I didn't know him
to be like, you know, reaching out saying ship. Yeah,

(36:58):
so that that's real. Let's see. OK, let's move on.
God damnit smooth ye it's a for sunny Oh yeah no, no, no, no,
yeah yeah yeah, Well, um, hold on go Okay, hold on,
hold on, So so what what was the situation we
actually talked about one the time you're here but for
this episode. But Boys in the Hood and bad Boy

(37:18):
and your involvement and when you kind of left that situation. Okay,
so I never left. I was hot as fist, grease,
Yeah you want me? Like was all the tapes that
I was passing out out of my far you know
what I'm saying, and all the promile was doing because
I started guerrilla marketing, like I really was the one
out here like pushing the line with like spending its

(37:41):
own money. I spent, you know, millions to get on
you know what I'm saying before I've seen anything. And um,
we're boys in the Hood and it's Block Entertainment, right, yeah,
this is blocked. So boys in the Hood, Um, God
blessed dead. Kim Porter, which is a system of mine,
which is Puffs kids. Mother knew the homie and her

(38:04):
friend Erica I'm at Ebony sorry, which is my sister
too hit me and it was like, Yo, you gotta
come by the studio. Puff got this group. He wants
you to do a song. So I went in the
first song I ever did was them boys by the way,
like I'm not I'm still not a rapper. I'm still
ride rund in that Ferrari with a half a million
in the front of you know what I'm saying, Like,
I'm not a rapper. So I get in the room
with these guys and they're doing this song, them boys,

(38:28):
and I'm not a rapper, you know what I'm saying.
So I'm in here with people who like spitting balls,
you know what I mean. So it took me like
an hour and a half to just write my verse,
and it took me like another hour to put it
down because I'm not so familiar with the studio. So
by that time, everybody walked down because Trick was there,
Jazzy Favor was there, and everybody was there, and I

(38:49):
remember them like, you know, people in the hallway talking
shit like man, he whack. So I remember I put
it down and I walked down the hallway and told
him to play it. And it was like, if it's
taken too long to lock up. By the time the
fourth bar, can't everybody that was outside the Talking Ship
was in the studio going crazy, you know what I'm saying.

(39:14):
I was like, yeah, I told y'all you know what
I mean. But what happened was, you know, I was
about my business earlier and I didn't need anything from anyone.
And when Kevin Allows and l A Re signed me,
the deaf jam Kevin left two weeks after he signed
me to Atlantic to Atlantic Kevin Lows, and they never
told me who the next president was gonna be. So
when I was walking to deav Gym to go to

(39:37):
the building, I've seen this black may back pull up
and I'm sitting down. You know, you're running your credentials,
So you get the past, give me d and the
door open in his hole. He's like, yo, jeezus, what's up.
I'm like, what's up? You know what I'm saying. Hey,
He's like, I'm onna walk up with me. You knew
him to that. I've seen it, but not like that.
We had no conversation in that little area that you

(40:00):
put your idea, your security guard to get you a
little bass. They say just such, and and said walk
up with he already he was already to presidence in it.
He said, you know I'm up here. I got you, okay.
I'm like, oh, ship, you know what I'm saying. I
love Kevin lis mcdamn. You know this s started to
make sense, Okay what I'm saying so um So when

(40:24):
I got a hole, I instantly realized because I love Puppa.
You know, I was. I had a little man syndrome
back then. So every time I was around Puff, I
was trying to show him I got the same watch
you say that my whole thing. I'm like, my chest
was out, and he was just like, yo, man, you
know what I mean. So he was just like, you know,
so it took Jay. He was like it, what's going

(40:47):
on with you? And you know what I'm saying, I'm like, yeah,
you gotta know that U and not the whole time
I'm talking shit, I'm not realizing that Puff is on
the other end of the pool table. I didn't know
you was playing pool? No, no, so no, this is
like one day it was in He's like, what's going
on with you? You know? You know I'm getting money?

(41:08):
Well you know how that is? You street guy? You
feel like get money close to Jay Z down, it's
like you're ready to go to war for for no reason,
like you cool whatever. He's like, yeah, yeah, that's my man.
And he was like and then he's like Puffs on
the other end of the table. So me and Puff
had already done the Boys in the Hood deal, but
it was like it was a lot of things that

(41:29):
happened during the deal that kind of like made me
feel different, Like meaning like I'm going to Magic City
and Puff is calling my phone to sign the deal
for Boys in the Hood, but I'm telling them going
to Matton City and he's calling my phone back to
back and he like, go to Kinko's and signed the
contract and send it back like with the Facts machine.

(41:51):
By the way, kids used to go ship So for
those of the Xerox, that's how you caught me something, right.
So so so now I'm like, y'all ain't going to
key cards. I gave you over there, so you know,
I just had a tip on my shoulda. And it
was when Jay was like yo, man, like you know,
he sat me and Puff down, we just you know talk,

(42:12):
you know. So I got a chance to really know
because I didn't really I knew him, but I knew
him through like meeting up so I only saw him
in club setting. So I was like, I'm a street guy.
You know you're gonna respect me. That was my whole
inmo with any rapper or any entertainer because it was
just like, I'm risking my life out here. Y'all ain't
going through this ship. So anyway, puff Um and Jay
sit there and I go, look, man, i want to
do the Puff deal, but I'm only gonna do one album.

(42:35):
I gave Puff a number and he was cool that,
you know what I'm saying. And me and Puff been
cool every since. That's my bro, like we chopped up
my business, spirituality whatever. But he was like, I ain't cool.
And now I got puffing Jay in the same room
and they agreeing to let me do this Boys in
the Hood album only one album pushed the Motivation back,
which is highly anticipated for a month your first album,

(42:58):
my first album, right, the Motivation one on one. So
in my mind, I'm coming off a trapper die and
I'm using them boys is another marketing peace, you know
what I'm saying. So now I got two deals and
I'm I'm building this momentum that that was my mindset
so right, and with the guys you know, and no

(43:19):
disrespect to them. I just think that was a little
more season when it came from business because I came
out of the streets and I was used to dealing
with said the guys boyhood, so they didn't understand, you
know what I was doing because I'm thinking business. I mean,
I get the records, and I also knew that them
boys was a hit. It's like like you like going

(43:40):
for the selfish move or like I think that if
I'm honest, and they probably tasted. I think it's been
some situations where I kind of tried to put them
on the game, but they probably looked at me like
I was separating the group and you really wasn't the
officially wrapper at that time year. I was the street
guy who just had one good verse on the whole
project and on the tour like like I was on

(44:04):
too with Jody Brees. Jody Breese was the guy like
all the girls left Jody like the bus like damn,
Like I got on the Town Dollar roll, like you'll
see this what's going on? But before you continue because
I also worked the Bad Boy Records and he he
was on or once a part of the street team too,

(44:25):
and we ye, they was pushing we was the Miami
Street Team. I was running down here and they were like, okay,
there is a South record, y'all gotta push this. But
there seemed to be some confusion when that record came,
because if it was like you're on you're in the group,
you're not in the group, and I don't I don't
remember clearly how it was the timeline back that the group. Yeah,
I mean I'm record, yeah, the record? What the thing

(44:47):
was that? Rightfully? So, I'm my own boss because I'm
pressing on my own CDs. I'm paying for my own stuff.
I'm signed to death. Cham Um, I got a public
in situation. You asked Big John, He'll tell you John
that money, man, I didn't even cash my def Jam
and my Publician check. You understand, I'm saying, like I

(45:09):
just had these checks in my house. What what the
Publicisan check I lost in a pair of jeans, which
was crazy because I had to figure that out because
I didn't know. And then I had, um, you know,
my def jam check that I didn't even cash because
I had bread. And I remember Jay called me one day,
He's like, Yo, what are you doing? Okay, okay, did

(45:29):
you lose the Publicisan checking? You you don't even remember?
You know? I lost it? And then I called Big
John shout out the big John he had check. Again,
he didn't understand what the hill because nobody can't take
that check in cash. But I'm gonna be honest. You know,
I'm a street guy. I had my money bags. I
thought when he gave me the check that it was
already somewhere. I need to go pick it up. I
didn't know about Baker and it was a huge check

(45:57):
check and me and John laugh about that, you know,
just anyway. But the reality of it is I didn't
discuss with the guys what I was doing on the
business side, so they probably felt like that I was
being selfish. But I had a plan, feeled me, and
that was my plan because that was never really officially
a group I had to get. I was. I was
getting a label deal with Death Jam, which was CT

(46:21):
then shout out to the new deal Corporate Thugs Entertainment.
But but but I had a plan, and I wasn't
trying to just be in a group, you said, saying,
because I wanted to break my own artists and do
my own things. So again communication, I didn't talk to
them and say, look, this is what I'm trying to do.
I was more so like I'm gonna do this, you know,

(46:42):
y'all gotta figure this out. That's you know, probably why
you know it kind of went a little left and
to make it up, Mark, but I was working in
death jammers, so then we're working Oh my god, he's
working bad boy and okay, use one of them type
of both sides in the middle. I'm taking a shot.

(47:05):
It's hard. Don't drink that ship. I'm sorry, keep going,
I keep going that man, Well, I'm sorry. I just
this is a great joke, that's all. So I got
the word that you're doing a new album. I'm saying
I feel like Jesus got all the accolades, got all

(47:29):
the success, got all the money, beautiful family, beautiful wife.
Why even come outside, like why not staying eat peaches
all day? Watermelon? You love it that I did that, though, Man,

(47:49):
I can't. I'm not for feeling like that. Bro, I
don't like. I gotta be happy. This is my this
is my purpose. It ain't even about the money no more.
It's about like I know what any about the money.
It's it's it's about like, you know, even for the
younger generation coming up, it's like, this is what you
do when you're fifteen twenty years in you still you know,
you're still who you are, but you've got a bigger
mindset as you lead by example. And one thing about it,

(48:12):
I lived enough in the streets to talk about it
forever because because the game don't change, it's just only
the players and the same thing. And I just feel
like for me, you know, I ain't trying to preach
and nothing, but I'm like, I got a few people
that I respect, and I could sit the mentors and
we don't even communicate on the mental levels, just like
I just talked to him about things, but I love
the way they moved. So for me, it's just like

(48:32):
I want to show these cats, even fifteen twenty years
in the game, you still get moved. Like I'm well
aware of my surrounds. I can tell you right now
how many black T shirts over there who got white
with you know what I'm saying. I know you know
what I'm saying. That's who I am. But at the
same time, with what what keeps me ful Field is
to be able to connect with people from a personal level.
Like on the way over here, I had used the bathroom,

(48:54):
I opt out of the Walgreens on where that was that.
You know what I'm saying, right in the middle of
the hood before I could even get to the door. Everybody, jeezus,
that's what I do it for because they love me,
because I have values, I have integrity, and I have
and I'm a visionary, Like I have a vision that
street people want to have me. They want to come
from somewhere, accomplish something and then take that in the

(49:16):
compass something else. So even when I came in the game,
you know, I only started rapping because I already knew
what the streets was gonna do. But I'm not the
best rapper nor ever I ever claimed to be, because
if you really know about it, like music is my
talent because I you know, jumped in the head first
and figured it out. But business is my passion. I
always wanted to do this and this and real estate

(49:37):
and that and be able to sit here and have
a real conversation about my business. Like when I say
I only have for Atlanta, No, I'm yeah that serious.
Oh yeah for Shore City blocks asks about me? Yeah
straight up. LLLC, Yeah, that's all day. LLC on you

(50:00):
when outside takes to come on, let's do it solo
solo so cheers. Sticking to that subject real quick. A
lot of people were shocked. I don't know if if
you ever did an interview since this, a lot of
people were shocked when they announced that you was even

(50:22):
doing the verses right, not only are you doing the verses,
but then who you was doing the verses against. I
think the industry was just like, wow, I didn't you know.
I remember me calling Swiss and me asking like for
inside information, like sure this just can actually go down,
and Swiss is like they had a private meeting. It

(50:43):
was Was that true that you had a private meeting
prior to that? I wouldn't lie. I'm gonna keep it
the ball. Yeah, okay, because it just had to be
some understanding. Okay, you know what I'm saying, and there's
so much history and that you know what I'm saying,
And for me, I just wanted to believe that weight
all myself, because you know, contrary to people's beliefs, it

(51:06):
ain't what they think. The whole situation however, it's that too,
but values and morals, meaning that if I would say
what really happened, I gotta throw somebody under the bus
that I love. You know what I'm saying, like, I'm
not gonna do that, so I had to wear that
for fifteen years. So I'm just like, yo, at least musically,

(51:29):
let's put this shit in the space where that part
is at least good, just out of respect and and
and a lot of people thought it was a game,
but it is for the culture. It's like, Yo, that's
unfinished business. But it is what it is. But when
it comes to what we do is as far as
leaders leadership, like it has to be some type of

(51:50):
understanding or we're gonna be extinct out here, bro, Like
you know rap It is like I'm like you, like
why I come outside? You know what I'm saying. You
still had a better chance going to Iraq. You know
what I'm saying That in the rapper in today's world,
you know what I'm saying. But it has to start somewhere,
you know what I'm saying. Again, I don't want to
be the type of person to preaching teach, but I

(52:12):
feel like that moment just had to happen. People had
to see us in the same room, and I'll be
lying to say that we haven't seen each other, you
know what I'm saying. Or rang that right, and like
we both like, you know what I'm saying, because it's
been so long, so many conversations, so much miscommunication, you
know what I'm saying. And you know, if if you

(52:36):
saw it, you know it's for your you know how
many people and by the way, like Swiss need to
talk to us because that was the highest view versus
and as I can remember, right after that, they saw
that ship, the Triuler, So yeah, Swiss and you know
we're out here, baby, Yeah, let's be real. That's what
I'm saying. But you know, at the end of the day,

(52:59):
like you know, I can't speak on the real ship.
But what I can't say is at this point in
the game, you know, you don't work this hard to
get here, and everybody got ship to lose, now, you
know what I'm saying, a life that they always dreamed of.
Just like, let's let's do the artist ship first and

(53:20):
then everything else. So let me ask and you could
answer this how you want to. So in this private meeting,
was it discussed that you know that the Hill might
say something that's going too far and you can say
whatever you want. Was that discussed? All that was not discussed.
It was just to see if we can sit in
the same room, but the details wasn't was kind of
sort of but now, but if you know, homie, you

(53:40):
already know, like it's just what it is, you know
what I'm saying. I kind of felt like it wasn't
gonna go that way just based off what it was,
because you're talking about some ship that happened, you know,
so long ago on the streets that you finally getting
a chance to be face to face, and it's taking
uh Magic City for one, that was happening in magazine

(54:04):
City for one, Apple for two, Switched Beats for three,
Timberland for four. Talking when you say Apple, you're talking
about a multip billion dollar company almost taking a risk
on with two of them. Stacy Abrams came on and
spoke before for that give me give a set up
and stare because that way you'd never been bad for

(54:28):
the campaign, and because it was crazy, because I see
how calm you were. Almost was like and and again
I'm outside of the that's an inside of us looking
in from the outside. Um, it almost felt like you expected.
It almost felt like I don't want to say you
expected or you kind of knew that women beating honest

(54:50):
with you, like, yeah, just giving the history of who
he was were, I know he didn't know what they
expect and I didn't even the because you know, like
when you're pulling up and you know everybody out there
with you guys, you know, semimachine, guns and tactics and
like it's it's it's like, you know, it's like putting,

(55:12):
you know, ship putting in the room with whoever they're
beating within the UK just because you don't nine times
out of ten it don't be you, but somebody is
with you. It's just like nah, so nobody knew what
they expect. But I can't tell you this again. This
is what respect come in. And people who do it
right shout out to Magic because Magic is a legend.

(55:35):
He was one of the first people that one of
the owns Magic City. But he's like our uncle. You
don't disrespect Magic, you just do it because he's such
a solid guy. What I'm saying. And it's just like
if we was cousins and we had a disagreement, it's
like being with your uncle, I'm gonna talk first, you
know if you don't work out after that handy business,

(55:55):
but not here, So it was that. But at the
same time, um, nobody knew what Dick's fact. I mean,
I'm gonna be honest with you. I was watching the
Apple people. They were sweating. I was like, look, I
was watching people there was supposed to be with me,
like sliding over people supposed to be with him side.
Nobody knew what side of standing up like I was home.

(56:19):
I don't know what's going on, but but but you know,
one time for the music man, because you know I
haven't said and done. That's gonna be a part of
history there everybody I don't remember, but it just had
to happen, bro, Like, you gotta be the first too,
you know what they say. To be a true leader,
you got you gotta stand out there before anybody else

(56:40):
doing take that lead, because you could have woke up
tomorrow and they's been like, I'm good on home just
because of that. You know what I'm saying, but you
know it. And then ya actually did a tour together
after that. Yeah that's the thing. It's just like but
he apologized after that. Yeah, but I mean, but but
you know, I don't know if this is right the same,
But I'm just you how I'm on it. You know,

(57:01):
he hit me because it was basically my tour. I
was the front run. I was the first person on
the tour and he hit me. He was like, yo,
you know what I'm saying. You know, I want to
get on this tour and you know, how have you
taken I'm to be honest. You know where bro, I
never blocked how you feed your family? It is what
it is. I see that's after person. Yeah, I see that.

(57:22):
What was that? But but I had to give that
call because they weren't gonna let that go on if
I said no, Well I was front run and I'm like, yo,
I don't never get between you and your money. That's fine.
I think we got know what I'm saying that because
I think I think and y'all cord you like it's listen,
I'm not gonna lie. You know what I'm saying, Like

(57:42):
we we we um. It's in the space where we
can we can coexist, and I think that's all that matters.
Like looking for Yeah, nobody's looking for you know. It
wasn't like before that. We was hanging out every day,
you know what I'm saying? So, yeah, well what makes
some nuch for growth back listen, real ship. So we're

(58:03):
gonna bounce aroun. I'm gonn I'm gonna get back to
um therapy for my soul. Okay, Oh it's a good Yeah. Yeah.
You said something that we just had. The megoes up
here and he said something about coach k right. You're
on coach k right. Um, what exactly what you're saying

(58:24):
right there? I'm saying that again, you know, communicating is key, right,
I'm saying that when money is at plate and there's
not the right type of communication, the lines team that
seem to get blurred, and if you're not And this

(58:48):
is another thing I want to say, and it's for
anybody that's coming up in the game. There's no handbook
or no template of how to do this ship. You
give it your all, your risk of life, and then
all of a sudden you wake up and your multimlion
more power than you can grasp. And and and if
you come for one from you already got your own trauma.
People to them, try to do things to you, funk

(59:11):
over you, all these different things. So I'm dealing I'm
dealing with that one question. He's dealing with, dealing with
artists that went left um, but at the same time
he's part of your management. At first at the time,
you know, Coach came to Like the craziest thing is
Coach came to the studio because Dallas also studio in Atlanta.

(59:33):
Because back then I was driving the g S four
dred Lexus I had, I was iced out and I
was spending cash money to get the studio and he
was hearing about that, and that's how he came to
the studio and started to be friend me. You know
what I'm saying. And then over time he was just
like somebody around it. I could be like, yo, can
you take care of this? And he was doing it.
Don't get me wrong, he's great at what he does.

(59:53):
But there was a lot of conversations that didn't happen
before the fame and the money came under understanding. It's
like getting into a marriage and you don't talk about
what are the yeah right, what are the things that
are deal breakers? And you know what what things you
don't want because it's now it's a relationship. And for me,

(01:00:17):
I'm a street guy. If you do anything that seems
questionable to me, then I just know how to handle it.
How I handle it, you know what I'm saying, And
again that ain't with the best communication. Ther lationship was
what coach. It wasn't never Pete Pete. Now I didn't
know p O. I only only knew Pe when him
and co star, Right, OK, So just to get some

(01:00:38):
clarity to it, some things went on. You know, I'm
sound quite sure he would say different, you know what
I'm saying, as he should, but I just you know,
I didn't trust a lot of things that And again
there's no handbook for this, so I don't even know
how it's supposed to go. I'm just understanding what I'm assuming.
And so if you're not communicating with some and it's

(01:01:00):
not going how you wanted to go, of course you're
gonna be like yo, like I ain't rocking like that.
And then he probably thought, you know what I'm saying,
ain't going high he wanted to go. So if you
ain't have no understanding going into this, and it's like
right now, we we're sitting here and we're drinking and
we're having fun, and we got a podcast, and this
ship just blow out of the roof and then somebody
just come drop this big bag of money on the table.

(01:01:22):
But we but we ain't talked about you know what
I'm saying, because I'm like, yo, I'm spending millions like
I'm not fifty, but sitting or doing like you know
what I mean, like the risk of my life. And
he's like yo, but I you know what I'm saying.
So there was never no issue that we couldn't resolve.
But I just think when it wasn't talked about pre

(01:01:45):
right money and pre success, it's like there's a lot
of expectations there, and you know how to go with expectations,
you know, if if it ain't what you want, you
to feel that down. So and I still got love
for coach, Like I'm happy he's successful. I'm happy he's
done what he did. I hear people all the time

(01:02:05):
he's ain't putting nobody on but just looking around coaches
on done, Canda Zone, Drama Zone, so, the Red Zone,
the Drummer boy Zone, Justice League Zone. These all people
that I dealt with before anybody else that listen, let's
go to death jam is on. I did a feature
for my you know time over I did a feature
for every artists over there, including Rihanna, Kanye, we like

(01:02:26):
you name it. There's nobody I ain't touched over there.
It's just that I didn't want the money for myself
because I'm a hustler, so I'm gonna do what I
do for me. I don't have to do coming to
this podcast and see how successful is and try to
pull you to the side and go let making this
to be a part of it, because I'm happy for you.
It's like I'm happy for them. I'm happy for DJ
Drama and all the success and the things that they're
doing to my brothers. I want to see him sign

(01:02:47):
and it's better that we didn't do business with each
other because I love him. But you know, light skin
Nig is different. Brother. I'm telling y'all steaking to the
class sometimes. But but we're going on to be crazy.
I love him and that's why we can come back
now with all our success, all the ship that we
got going on and still do some amazing like Snowfall.

(01:03:08):
You know what I'm saying, because now we're in a
different space and it ain't it ain't out of desperation.
It's for the love, you know what I'm saying. It's
for like, yeah, you know this is and the reason
why I really wanted to do this project with him
because I don't want expect taxes. I want to do
what was drama. This is Snowfalls. Snowfall is me and
DJ Drama. That's a mixtape or this is what I
would call it a street album. And it's for my

(01:03:30):
Day one and Don Cannon is exactive producer. And I
got all my guys on there, that number one fan. Yeah,
but I got all my all my producers that I love,
you know, the Justice Leagues, the d Riches, that all
those guys that I love, and I just wanted to
get in and do something I wanted to do with
no expectations, meaning that I don't have to put no

(01:03:53):
you know, no top ten record on it. I want
to talk crazy. You know it's Curls Ship. I'm back
talking crazy. You know what I'm saying, ice Cube. When
you say as cool, I'm back, don't know what a yeah,
I forget, keep for getting, keep good. You gotta hear
a good. Our demographics keep getting younger and younger. Young
niggas saying what's up, Nori. I'm like Walmart Nick better

(01:04:15):
not know why not we are live? You on your
parents is crazy? You know? But um, let's move to
put on. How did you and Kanye link up for that? Okay?
So this true story. So Kanye did this record that
was on the recessing because he said he's a fan.

(01:04:36):
He knows. So there's a record on Recession called I
Got Money with Me and t I. I put Kanye on.
I send the record to Kanye. It's like, we can
have before the album had to be turned in, right,
and he says the record back a totally different record.
He says it back with if you remember the record.

(01:04:58):
I'm like, so I gotta turn it in. But his
verse sounds like a totally different song. So I go, yeah,
I can't use it. I just gotta keep me and
Tip on it. And he was like all right. Cool.
So about six months go by, you called me out
of nowhere. What are you doing? He said, kind of
talked to you for a man. I was like, yeah,
for sure. He goes, uh, you remember that song you

(01:05:21):
did that I did for you. I was like yeah,
He's like, I want to keep it. I said yeah, whatever.
He said, who produced it? And I told him that
to produced it. He asked me for too Snumber. I
gave him to Snumber. So that's what big brother. All
those records he had on the album came from Tom.
So I put to Kanye with right, yeah, yeah, what
I'm saying he produced, So I put him with and

(01:05:47):
and he called me after the fact he said, Yo,
do you mind if I keep your adlets? Or? This
is why I know he's genius. He said, do you
mind if I keep your ad libs on it? I'm
in passing. I'm not even thinking. I'm like whatever, yeah. Yeah.
So the song comes out huge, like I'm not even
expecting this, but my ad libs are in the song.
So everybody listened to the song on the radio. Wait

(01:06:08):
for my birth to come in. Yes. So everybody's calling
me like, yo, there's this song out. It sounds like
you're about to wrap it. You don't wrap. I was like,
it's Kanye's record. So anyway, long story short, I going
to London to do a show. I go, I go
on to eight. I think Kanye goes on a ten.
The first record he does in front of eighty thou
people is um, wait till I get my money right,

(01:06:32):
I'm watching eighty tho people. Uh, it's crazy. I look
at because jay Z and Beyonce there and I look
at him. I said, I think I funked up. He's like,
what do you mean? I said, I gave Kanye that
record I didn't know and he was like, yeah, it's crazy,
so you know what I'm saying. So now I'm like,

(01:06:54):
damn so and at this time, not not needed it.
It's not the one, So I never forget. I was
trying to call Kanye. I had this record call put
on and I was trying to call Kanye and I
couldn't get him on the phone. I called l a read.
He's like, I'm gonna call him for you. Called me
with Kanye in the phone. He said, Yo, Kanye, want
to talk to you. He got on the phone. This

(01:07:15):
is when his mother passed and he hadn't done any
record system and we talked. We had a real conversation.
He said, I'm gonna do it for you. So I
sent him. I told him what put on me and
in the South in Atlanta, he was like a word
and then I sent him the song and then he
called me back on his own line. He was wrapping
me the verse. But you know, I'm like, go put
it down, go do it now, like, don't wrap it

(01:07:36):
on the phone and he went and put it down
and he sent it to me. And I'm getting ready
to go out out of town to do some shows
for the weekend. Um, and I got all my homies
on the tour bus. So it's like twenty of us
on the tour bus, so a lot of choppers, a
lot of choppers. And I and I gave it to

(01:07:57):
V one on three to Gregg Street, right, but I
didn't tell nobody Kanye was on the song. They heard
the song in the studio, but nobody knew Kanye was
on the song. So we're on the tour bus and
we headed out of town and Greg Street brings the
song back like a hundred times. I mean, it was crazy.
And when everybody heard Kanye West, I just I watched
their eyes because you know, you would you would think

(01:08:18):
like and I knew right then and was hit and
I never forget bro. I was like, we're back on
We're back in the game. And I remember Ellie calling
me like, man, he did it again, this is crazy
and uh number one, and then Drake hopped on the remix.
We did that on BT and the rest of his history. Man,

(01:08:39):
and probably to be honest with you, I feel like
it's probably one of Kanye's best verses ever. It was
so crazy that jay Z got on it the remix
if you remember, Yeah, so yeah, he had a record
with Drake Kanye and Drake got on I Do with
Andre three thousand and Jay C and I. You don't

(01:09:00):
believe that I say that, go here there on Snowfall
I got. I got more records with jay Z than
Biggie Small. Let's be clear, you feel me, Let's be
clear what I'm saying. Let's be clear. Ship that is crazy.
Oh my god? Yeah, So who's your inspiration? On Bars?

(01:09:21):
You're saying you didn't come in as an artist, so
you say, but you obviously got You said you got
hold on a new Snowfall to No, No, No, Nona.
You got more records, and I got more records with
jay Z than he does with Biggie Small, for sure. Okay,
but you're gonna give us somebody that song Snowfall. Hey man,
let me finish my question. Goddamn bad guy. Tell me

(01:09:43):
you inspired by Bar Smiths. You have to be, because
you're doing bars. You're saying you're not. You didn't come
in as an artist like that, but you am seeing right.
I think it's because of my love for music. But um,
every morning before school I listened to all MASTERP, A, B,
M j G. But my favorite was Tupac and more

(01:10:03):
of my favorite was Tupac and still is to these days.
Because he stood for something. He had values, he had morals,
he had integrity, and I had never seen that before
because my uncles are still twenty dollars out of socks.
You know what I'm saying, People that I respect. What
I'm saying was taken from you know what I'm saying.
And I couldn't get any information out of him. So

(01:10:25):
how I learned how to survive and navigate through the streets.
And I want to say that because even when these
guys is coming up, you know, nine of ten percent
of it is music, of it is surviving and survival
and navigating through what's going on. And the reason why
I was able to navigate through a lot of things,
but because I listened to Tupac as if he was

(01:10:46):
like that was my bibles, how I knew how to
handle sit in situations and it was embedter than me.
And it's just like, you know, he was a revolutionary
before I knew what that was like he actually had
He's still something and and and and he would take
those risks when everybody around me was so used to

(01:11:07):
how they was living that they didn't want to try
to live any better. And I was like, with Ship,
I'm just gonna go take some risk. So my my
bible at that time, you know, no dispect to the
big homie was every Tupac our I would give by
myself the home never I ain't never heard that, but

(01:11:29):
I listened to um Tupac every morning before school. And
when I made my assistant to drop out of school
in the sixth grade, I did that knowing that I
had to make away from my mom and my sister.
But I did that knowing that Tupac did what he
had to do. Sixth grade. Yeah, yeah, sixth grade. I
got my g D. When I was locked up. I

(01:11:50):
got one on you one once. I got one over alright,
we went away. I heard what you said when you
receive your award. He said, I don't know if I
can read it's real, Ship. Seriously, I got lawyers, don't
know if not your Yeah, the question mark after he's trying.

(01:12:11):
Oh my god, man, this is so great. Man. Okay,
sole Survivor feature at a calm A calm. Okay, shout
out to Boucon. But by the way, you see Acorn
new cut. We got to talk about this, his new
haircuting his Barbara don't like him. Man, It's like, what's
the African man? You gotta getting a pass. Let's do

(01:12:31):
what did over there? I respect, I know that this
is this. That's somebody we could have the first question man,
like somebody put a bowl on your ship and you
just cut around and like a car. You gotta get
your life together. You gotta way too much money. And
I think that might be Beijing patch. I think that's
just going on. I said when I first came, my friend,

(01:12:53):
I don't want to speak on nobody else, but you
know this is true. Noticed what I'm taking a shot
for that. Let me know what part are you taking
a shot for the patch? Let me know what I
want to know too. Yeah, he coming on. That's what's crazy.
We had you coming on and then as we have

(01:13:14):
you going up, they said, um um, so I just
kept saying I'm gonna tell you that though, okay, pop
it so boom, God bless you Dad Shkire Stewart Um
A and R and confident at the time in bookon
Bootcon is a cons brother, Yes, right, and they knocked

(01:13:36):
out show. I don't know, yeah, I mean if he
did yeah. Um. But Boom called me and I was
a passwords working literally working, you know, I was doing
both of my jobs. I was recording and um, and
he said, I got this CD for you, the A
content and he brought it over there and this was

(01:13:57):
what CDs was A can already got locked up out already, okay,
so you bring me the CD, and um, it's six
songs on it. So I put it in. I listened
to all six songs and the last one was Sole
Survivor and I just started touring around with it because
I had a party that night at Visions, and I
told around whe I put the first verse on it,

(01:14:17):
and you know, I'm just kicking this more. We doing
what I do. And then Shakire pulls up because he's
coming to the party with us. Shaquire was a vice
president of Dead to him at the time, and he said,
what you're working on? I played him Soul Survival. He's like, yo, guys,
this this is it. This is I'm just like but
at the top I had like trapped out, so I
wasn't even thinking like that, and um, I thought it

(01:14:38):
was a crossover record and I didn't want to do
one of those. So we go to the party, We
turned up, we drink, We come back and Shaquire goes,
why don't you picking us the record that she was
working on ACoM because I didn't have nothing to work on,
so I knocked the record out. It was done right.
He heard, He was like, yo, this is crazy. I
didn't think none of it. Fast forward, there's an intern
at Pats work. We'll talk about the lawsuit later because

(01:14:59):
I hadn had my business. There's studio that's with studio's
intern there that wanted me to use his beats for
Thug Motivation. One on one. I didn't use his beats.
I didn't know about masters back then, so I was
just recording and leaving all my tapes and all my
stuff at the studio. He gets all my songs, puts

(01:15:21):
his beat on the frost. That's how we knew he
did it. He puts his beat first like it's just instrumental,
and then my whole album and then he leaves it.
So Thug Motivation got leaked like four months before we're
supposed to come out. So but I'm with the wrong
beat stuffs with all the songs. Every song you heard
on th Movace was on this leak. So now I'm

(01:15:43):
like halfway in, halfway out the streets. My man called me,
He's like, Yo, your album's leaked, and I think I
knew who did it. So I jumped in my Porsch
truck drive down to the studio. I got my a
k this is this is no line. So they got
him pinning up at the studio and I get there
and my man like, y'all gonna just, you know, run
from up. I said, no, I'm about to, you know
what I'm saying. So, because now I'm thinking I gotta

(01:16:04):
go back to the streets. Already went cold turkey. Ill
don't told people. They don't even owe me the money
that they owed me. You know what I'm saying. I'm saying,
so now now this is it. You know what I'm saying.
On top of the fact that right before I turned
the al Men, I told my vocal cords, so I
didn't even know if I was gonna be at the
talk again because I had to have surgery, so I
didn't even know if my voice was gonna be the same,
you know what I'm saying, And we'll talk about that too.

(01:16:27):
But and um so I get there, you know, I
draw down on me and Slick pull it in up,
you know what I'm saying, being the brakes off of them.
I gotta go through this whole lawsuit, but I had
to pay them and to getting the big homie. The
best thing to ever happened to me because at that
time there was the biggest bootlegging ring going on in
the world in Atlanta. Like it was bootlegg and everything

(01:16:49):
you can think, like it was busting bootlegs. So me
and Slick Puller and a few of my homies rode
around for at least three weeks with three vans a
lot of choppers, and ran up in every bootleg trying
to take the CD back. But what I didn't realize
was the a absolutely one thousand per cent. And what

(01:17:09):
I didn't realize was that the music was already out
and it was spreading to Detroit, d C. It was
doing me good and I didn't know that. And it
wasn't until I went to do the Birthday Bass and
they played Bottom of the Map and twenty thousand people
lost in the first prom and then I wanted to

(01:17:31):
go a trap of dives my single right by now.
So surviving is huge in the streets, like it's crazy,
some something I never expected. And how I knew is
I'm going to a show and I think I'm going
to Dallas. So I'm in the airport and I'm walking
through the airport and her Motherucker said a kind of
young Jesus what then? And then it would be like,

(01:17:54):
you know, people from Africa walking up to me the
airport like Jeezy, we love you man, you know, shout
out to you. Ain't come like what the because I
didn't never know a con was that big? And I
knew he come from Atlanta. Yeah I didn't, I've never
been to Africa. No, no, he said, it's true. It's
TRUEMM called me and Secure called me. He said, Yo,

(01:18:19):
this is your single. And I was sitting there and
I was like, you know what to be crazy if
I could shoot the video like pay them full and
I was like, yo, anybody know cameeron and they're like
what called cameraon up? He was like, yo, peace King,
I'll be there. So called Cameroon a couple of those
guys from there, and I remember going out there to
do the video shooting single. Yes, I didn't have me,

(01:18:40):
you forgot me. He was probably doing something. You had
the biggest thing, and everybody came from me to jay
Z and it was like the biggest thing ever that
I heard and heard. JAYZ actually came to that. He
came to the video shoot, came out trailing. He sat
there and I'm gonna say it now because I don't
know if he's ever heard it, but you know, shout
out to Calm because that record chains my life, like

(01:19:03):
it took me from being a ghetto trapped superstar to
be world you know what I'm saying. And I had
no idea that one song can do that. So shout
out to Calm gets too paid, right, and that's it. Yeah,
that's what It's cool. He's my friend. I can talk

(01:19:24):
about it. He call always offered me a call to Africa.
I thought you said you got one. Now my mind
I do, but I was just go I'm gonna just
go called. Are you af okay Boom? My president is black? Yes,
my president right now is whack. Yeah. Yeah, I'm gonna

(01:19:46):
be honest. He came and sat down and talked to me.
I'll never forget it. We had a meeting with all
the leaders of Atlanta. Time on time. He said, he
just lost on us. I'm being honest, just ca. He
came to see you want to talk to me, And
he came and we did this this thing with all
the leaders. You can see the pictures. They are there,
and he wanted me to sit right beside him, and

(01:20:06):
he looked at me the whole time. He ex questions.
But I'm knowing he knew that I had something to
do with his man getting in there, and that's why
he did it. But we're talking about now, yes, yes,
before he won, we're talking about Trump. Trump was whacked too.
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, But I'm talking about Biden right now.
You Biden about the dots just because Bro, come on

(01:20:28):
dog saying that too, Hold on, hold on time. You
said no stage, listen, listen, we want to bet stage. Jeez.
They're like, tell him nor he can say whatever he wants.
I said, Yeah, they didn't say that, you know. They
did said be myself, beat yourself. That's saying whatever I'm

(01:20:50):
saying just the same. They don't know nor, we don't know,
be yourself. I go. I said, no, don't tell I go.
I go, alright, go listen. Did you just see Afford
the body? He about to die? Because because Biden, say

(01:21:12):
said to the right, Mr President, he clearly made a laugh,
clearly went the other way. I said to die. They said,
do not tell North what you say? What do you
want to say? A lot? They come to everything, They
come everything. They say, okay, all right, that's the difference
between But I'm gonna be honest. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,

(01:21:33):
that's that's that make me nervous. We want to use
the machine. Let's get the whole home, Let's get the
whole room high. Let's get the machine. God damn it. Yeah,
get that machine. Get that machine. We upgraded since you've
been here. I'm a I'm a street guy. Man. I
get a little paranoid when I see that much of anything.

(01:21:53):
It's legal, it's legal, it's it legal. Yeah. Yeah, you
was like early on a drink. Chance you came back
again and this is the cha alumn. But I'm gonna
be honest with you though, man like me and Nori
talk yes time to time. Yes, I'm really just I'm

(01:22:14):
proud of you guys. Man, I'm sorry you guys. Got
you guys got the coach hat. It's like, this is
a stop, this is a must stop. Think And as
I see you guys getting outside of this music, I
respect it more. You know what I'm saying. Respect a
little salt and that's it. God smell right too. I
got damn seven hundred dollars, got there, Get your life right.

(01:22:42):
That's a rockets good. Mama Wana made in a tubbing
kindle makes some notes that Mama Wana. Don't ever drink that.
Don't ever drink that jeezy litten. Trust me, he's my friend.
I love him, but he's crazy, Okay, I love it. Yeah, man,
that was That was one of those things, just taking

(01:23:03):
a chance on it. I remember getting the beat from
DJ Tobi at this studio in the hood, and I
went over there night by myself and I sat in
the room with him one of his producers, for like
four hours and listening to every beat they had, and
the last piet they played was that beat. And I
got this thing like the sixs because I don't like
necessarily write music. I see it, you know, I can.

(01:23:24):
I can hear it beat and see what it's supposed
to be so I know what it's gonna be when
it's doff you. Yeah, you just you just see it,
you know what I'm saying. I just get music differently.
And I was like, Yo, wait till I come back
with this. And I did that, did that record and
I played it for two and he went crazy, and
I knew what it was because when I played it
for l a read, he was just like, yoh, this
is just a single. Or going back to my president

(01:23:47):
is Black. I did that record five months before he won,
and I put it on the album before he won
because I had faith that he was gonna win and
I need that. I just felt like at the time,
we needed to change. So it's a lot of things
that I did behind the scenes to really help him

(01:24:08):
win in my opinion, like culture wise, right. But you know,
I don't know if I told the story before it
again got that he invited me to he invited me
to a correspondence. Then this time he is Barack Obama.
Barack Obama invited me to a correspondence. Then in New
York I got there. How many times they searched you,
They didn't even let me in. They told me I

(01:24:29):
couldn't come in and watching trade songs walking Oprah, this
one that one Kevin lows and I'm just sitting there, Yes,
I got time for suit on that I spent way
too much money for. You know what I'm saying, like,
I'm I'm embarrassed. So I get on the plane. I
go back to Atlanta on the same night. Long at
flight ever, because in my mind, I'm like, Yo, what
the funk happened? I said all these things, And that's

(01:24:51):
what really reminded me that I just never ever ever
lose touch with my people on my core because they
appointed me, and I'm not always gonna be accepted in
those likes because I come from to have not send
the people to the demonize. However, I'm in London, I'm
in Europe on tour, and I get up and my

(01:25:11):
mom keep calling me. I'm like, what's going on? She's like,
did you hear what the President said about you? So
the correspondents dinner with him, and Trump had those words.
He said, my first term, I went without green. My
second term, I'm going with young z Z. So that
was his way of giving me a little shout out
because I forgot that my best friend used to be
meat and I used to be. I'm saying, so I can't,

(01:25:35):
I can't just stand beside you and you know and
co signed you. So shout out to Barack Obama for that,
and he still owes me a conversation, by the way.
So I'm gonna just put that on out there. And
I've seen a lot. I've seen a lot of people
at the White House. My man Rick Ross had a
leg monitor. I'm like, what the hell is going on?
I got a clean slate ung in there? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,

(01:26:01):
did that be hard Obama? What's what's this? What's his name?
They called him? What's his nickname? Barry? Barry bring your
assid drink Camps. I'm working with divided and Barries just
makes you a yeah. Yeah. You guys hosting that day,

(01:26:23):
you had like a political show, like you was wearing
turtlenecks and all that. Yeah, it was interviewing house. Like
I said, Jesus you loafs. Yeah, taking it there? So
what what was it? What was it? What was you?
You was doing your black Chuckerson. I just think you

(01:26:44):
so what it is? Don't you know what it is?
Don't know? Like when you get knowledge from other people
and you just start to understand your position in it,
I'm gonna go all in, like I'm not a half
for your person. But when I felt like I was
helping the coach and helping the people, I'm gonna do that.
You know what I'm saying, Whether you ran or walking,
I'm with you, whatever I could do. But then I
started to get in and realize, you know, the politics

(01:27:07):
is like the craziest things ever You never it's worth. Yeah,
it's worse than wrap. Yeah yeah, because I mean other
than different prisons. But you nobody's ever telling you the truth.
You know what I'm saying, Like it no matter where
you're staying, it's not right. You know what I'm saying,
It's just not right. And I still support people here

(01:27:30):
and there, but I don't try to go I don't
do the loafers no more for them, it's the state
matter whatever. I'm not doing that. But you know it
hurt my feelings because my people trust me, you know
what I'm saying, Like when I'm going to these hoods
and knocking door the door to get people to vote
and doing all these things, like they trust me. They're

(01:27:50):
like yo jeezy, Like yeah, I'm gonna vote. So it's
just like, you know, even with Biden, like it was
just tricky for me because it's just I just know
all the things he promised, but then I have to
rein myself that there's no one man that can help everybody.
I can't even help everybody around me. So it's just
like you almost setting yourself up fulfilling because you have expectations,
you know what I'm saying. I'm saying it's like that

(01:28:11):
woman in that White House isn't really controlling. No, he's
not even telling the people, you know, it's more so
he walked. It's a different thing. He might need some
of them zeesy local little medical No, but no one's
seen this for this where they're like, was the president
of the right? He clearly he just goes the math
footage of him shake hands and nobody Yeah yeah, yeah,

(01:28:37):
looks like you're not. I mean, clearly it's not I
mean at this point, but it would be able to
see Kamala Harris, like you know what I mean, I'm
not saying I'm wish it and then oh night seeing
her be the first Yeah, like the one person. I

(01:29:01):
do feel like it's genuine, know, if I'm honest, it's like,
I don't know why, but just every time I ever
been in the president so just even had something for
her team, it's Michelle Obama President. Feel like she's like
she get it right, you know what? Yeah, she like
you know what I mean, it's just like you know,

(01:29:22):
when you see a woman that's really like you know,
and and by the way, like mont I get the
Rocks PROCs too, because it's like, it's hard to be
the first the first black president and the most powerful
man in the world. What do you have to go
through to get to that? Not even that you don't
have no scandal, No, ain't no, ain't no scandal. And
props to Michelle for that as well. Yeah, he probably

(01:29:44):
knows she don't play. But yeah, and that's probably why
she's so real because she wouldn't run in that field
because she knows she don't want to be a part
of that part of that. Yeah, I mean, I ain't
gonna lie to I kind of because my man wouldn't.
They're looking, you know, he came out Yeah great, Yeah, yeah,
I don't what's that? Don't know. But at the end
of the day, like if you kind of look at
the history, you know, you exclude Barack Obama only because

(01:30:05):
he handled himself presidentally and as a high value black man. Um,
who's really who really done it? Like? Who really done
it for us? Like? Who who do you feel has
been the best president? I would say when when Reagan
was in, they say the streets was cracking through, but
that was illegally through. But then he just started the

(01:30:30):
war on drugs too. Yeah, again and again, I was told.
I was told one thing. You know what I'm saying,
we can go, you know, back and forth. But I
was told one thing very young, you never talked to
people about religion and politics. You know what I mean?
For me, I just social media blew that up and
everybody just like Sleepless the movies. Yeah, what is it

(01:30:50):
called sleepless the movies? The movie? Um, sleepless sleepers. You
know I learned that about being locked up? Yeah yeah, yeah,
that's the most drop. The first you don't talk about
talk about religion politics But Atlanta, right though, I know,
but this is a political question. I feel like Atlanta
should be the first city were like killing Mike is

(01:31:11):
the the governor, Jesus, the fucking mayor, city council smoke.
But contrary to people's beliefs. Killer Mike is one of
the most intelligent Black man I've ever talked. He's encyclopedia.

(01:31:32):
He's like he knows his ship. Yeah, you know what
I'm saying. And he's solid, we know that. But he
knows anything historical about any government. He's consistent with That's
who he is. Um. But at the end of the day,
like we don't try everything else. So I think, so,
I know, I feel like he should running at this. Yeah.

(01:31:54):
I feel like I feel like Killer Mike could be
the mayor of Atlanta. You know how dope is that
to be like the mayor of killer I'm going out there.
I'm getting apartment just about right to be there. I
love Atlanta or Atlanta is the only place where you
can come from anywhere and be anybody you want to be.
It's so much opportunity there, um, and I think that's

(01:32:16):
what makes it special, you know what I'm saying. So
I wouldn't be surprised if one day we look up
and it's something like that. But you ain't in the policy, man,
I got, I got. I'm too honest, man, I'm gonna
tell the truth. You know what I'm saying. It's gonna work.
You know what I'm saying. I can't lie. You know,
I'm always be transparent, so and I wouldn't even want

(01:32:36):
that burden. I feel like what I do um in
real life, it's a little bit of that because I
could touch those people when a lot of people can't,
and they trust me, you know what I'm saying, because
of my anteguty and my values and my morals, but
also being jeezy like who I am, I can get
anything done in my city, you know what I'm saying.

(01:32:59):
I'm saying, and I'd rather had that because I don't
need no Grammys and wars and none of that. But
as long as I got respect and I can move
around my seat and people treat me like it's such
as somebody that really put in work, and somebody's out
here really thriving and striving and show people that what
you can do, and that's all I need. I think
being a politician would make you totally like you have

(01:33:19):
to choose between the money and the people. I don't
ever want to be in that situationause I'm always gonna
chose people. Well, do you see this like new Black preachers,
these niggas hood yeah, they got better than us. Rose Races.
He had nothing in his closet. You know, he's opress.

(01:33:42):
He's an impressed run like it's crazy like that. They
have a press conference. You hear the press comperence and
all that. We like this, it's ship is different now.
But like the music, jeez, I'm not gonna lie to you.
I didn't when when I'm sitting around with the young
homies and they're breaking down me this new music or
what's going on, and these guys basically telling on themselves.

(01:34:03):
Like if you notice when we was making music like that,
there was no names being mentioned, there was no blocks.
It was like we're saying pretty much your imagination, you
take the rest of it. They're not like that right now. There. Well,
well let me say this because in the beginning I
went through a lot of that too, because I was

(01:34:23):
I'm not a carpenter, I'm not a mechanic, I'm not
a roofer. I can't tell you nothing about those things.
But I am a hustling. I come from the streets,
you know what I'm saying. But when I was telling
people what I was experiencing, what I was going through,
it kind of felt like Drossnitch. I'm saying it wasn't
because original Gangster Rapp would would have been like they say,
it's a cautionary time. Well when you say hit the bricks,

(01:34:45):
hit the lights, will they go to bricks? You know
some people still has that like that, you know what
I'm saying. So, but for me, it was my truth.
And then you know, I think a lot of the
things that I was saying, the guys who were already up,
they felt it. But a lot of the guys who
was trying to come up, like damn, like basically you're

(01:35:06):
giving them the blueprint. But it was about survival for me,
you know what I'm saying. That's all I really knew,
you know what I'm saying. So it was nothing that's
I can really say, Like I couldn't what I was
gonna talk about, like I'm not. That's funny as hell
because my first album, The War Report, after that, people
had to come to me and say, you know, you
could imagine some of this ship like you know, I
didn't have to. You didn't imagine it. I didn't mean

(01:35:30):
what you knew about that. I swear to God, Patchwork
Studio the same thing. But I never forget. I'm working
on thug motivation. T I comes to the studio, I'm
sitting in the studio. He'll tell you if you have
something accent, you know, I'm doing my thug thing. I
probably got about two point five in the booth sitting
with me. I'm sitting, I got the machine going everything,
and I never forget. He came in there where I was,

(01:35:52):
and he looked in. He's like, you know, Ledge was second.
So he took me in the hallway. We walked in
the bathroom. I'm like, we're in the bathroom. I just
want to talk to you. You know how Tip is
EI look under the stalls and everything likes and he goes, yo,
you know you can't do both, right, Like what do

(01:36:12):
you mean? He's like, you can't wrap and do what
you're doing, because he said, and you're talented, you're gonna
you're gonna blow at some point. And if you continue
to do what you're doing, you know what I'm saying,
I don't know how it's gonna work out for you.
And I looked at him and say, with ship, but
don't you do both because you're like you the rubber bandman.
It's like, hell, no, you know, I left that alone

(01:36:34):
a long time ago, and for me, it was like
that was a real wake up call, you know what
I'm saying, because I remember shortly after that, you know,
I was having a lot of nightmares about you know,
just trying to make it and this is one last thing.
And I got caught up. And you know, I was
losing a lot of weight because at the time Thud
Motivation was coming out. You know, everybody started getting indicted
and going to prison, like especially everybody was hanging out

(01:36:55):
with So it's like a real dark time and I'm drinking,
I'm smoking. My mind ain't clear, you know what I'm saying.
So I'm doing I'm I'm having a lot of mistakes.
And I just remember T was voicing my head saying that,
and I remember I had this. I had like these
two next tell phones, these churchs. It was like the photons,
you know what I'm saying saying, And I rolled down
the street one day and just do them out the window.

(01:37:16):
I was done. That's like I was. I was like done.
When I would see people in the street, they're like yo,
and then owe your money coming, I'm like, no, you
wan't mean nothing. Keep that I'm saying, live your life,
I'm gonna do this, And it was so funny that
people that I was really trying to be a rapper,
like you wouldn't know how many homies laughed at me.

(01:37:36):
I thought it was funny. And I never forget when
I got that first deal and I got that first
when them boys came on the radio, and then I
was yeah, I was warming up and everything was happening.
It was god, man, because there it wasn't me, you
know what I'm saying. I wasn't doing anything different. I

(01:37:57):
was just sticking to my guns and doing what I love.
But it was all starting to happen. And the minute
everybody started getting indicted it when I started blowing up,
and it was like the craziest thing ever. Bro. It's
just like I was like that, I'm supposed to be here,
you know what I'm saying, and you know, shout out
to that man, shout out to the big homie. Actually,

(01:38:18):
so no, no, no, this is something even ella um
I want to take a shot to it too. Woh.
But g Herbo just dropped the album from the Vibers
or More Yes, and it's something that's very very real,
real because we all deal with that, because I'm sure
you was a part of a bunch of different people.

(01:38:40):
You're one of the thirty that probably made it, one
of the hundreds that probably made it. At me, I
just want to award right, that's right, don't forget that.
And it was weird to me because I got a
lot of calls. I got a lot of unnecessary calls
that I never got before. And it started to start

(01:39:01):
the dawn on me that it's like, damn, some of
these calls I actually take because I have survivor's remorse.
I'm like, damn, this guy, whatever be in my position,
this guy. So this guy asked me for something I love. Yeah, yeah,
I'm doing it. But I'm like, damn, this is too
much for me. Have you ever dealt with that? Man?
That's my whole story. You got stressed. I'm gonna take

(01:39:26):
a shop for that. Come on, you should have seen
your own face? Are solo sulo? I made At one point,
I had my whole neighborhood living in my house. Jesus,
my first man and I had my whole neighborhood lived.
There was an open door, sixty seventy people in at
the time. You know, what I'm saying. It was loose Jesus, Yes,
yeah I was. I was, but but I just felt
like when you from the hood, you really want to

(01:39:48):
go to take everybody, put everybody on that was my
and then um, you know, and as you start paying
the law suits and things are happening, things are coming
up missing, and nobody's taking responsibility. Everything is on you.
You know what I'm saying, You're just like, wow, you
know what I'm saying. You bound, people calls about watches,

(01:40:10):
people passing on your toilet, all that ship, you know,
and you're coming in and it's just like you still
feel alone, you know what I'm saying. And then you know,
I have a gift of being able to visualize where
I need to be and what's the best way to
get there from A to C without compromising my integrity,

(01:40:34):
And every time I took a step towards that, I
would see how people around me would react, you know
what I'm saying. And it's just like, as the money
start coming in, you know what money now, it's like
you like everyone. Yeah, everyone's saying like almost like you
like food, because you can't go by just for yourself

(01:40:56):
without making sure you know what I'm saying, Like so
it would be that way, and then it just went
on for so long, like years and years and years,
and I'm like, yo, what's going on. It was the
last time that I got locked up in l A
on tour, and I remember just had my a year
old daughter and I got locked up on the Whiskalifa

(01:41:17):
tour on the murder. They tried to put on me
that I had they found the gun and your toy
bus or something. Yeah, I found several, but none of
them had my finger prints on. Right, So now I'm
in the l A County jail and I ain't nobody
taking care of my people, you know what I'm saying.
I got ten people with me. It's a million dollar

(01:41:40):
bill for everybody that women. They wanted to let you go.
I think they came. They came to get me out,
But I'm like, these people that are with me, they're
not criminals. This is my staff. So of course I
don't want to tell nobody how to get my paper,
but I don't want to lead him here. So I
stayed in there until I was able to well, I

(01:42:00):
went out right and get everybody out the way we
came in. But what I noticed is when I came out,
I was mad at the world. I was depressed, I
was angry, and I was really angry at the people
that was with me because nobody did anything for the
people I love. And that's when I made the decision
that which was the hardest decision in my life, as

(01:42:21):
I'm gonna walk alone, and that's what you're talking about.
And every since then, it's just like it's me. Of course,
I got people around me that I love, and you know,
my staff and people that work with me and the
people that I employed because we had the same vision.
But as far just keeping people around the safe face,
I can't do that anymore. Can that bring too much

(01:42:41):
bad energy? And it's just like I don't need bad energy. Well,
what I'm trying to do with my life, it's just like,
you don't want that. And I feel g Herber because
he's a kid from Chicago. It's going through some real things.
You can tell that he's beyond the star. Yeah, so
he's only said his knowledge is crazy. And when I

(01:43:02):
started being around people that, you know, they really wanted
to see me win or connect me with people that
I really couldn't get in the room with That's when
I started to see like, oh, there are people out
there in the world. They're good people. You know what
I'm saying, They're good people. Know what I'm saying, Like,
I don't want to be nowhere in the situation from man,
I got to sleep with two clocks, you know what

(01:43:23):
I'm saying. Because the homies down still, I don't know
what I'm like, you know what i mean, feel away
about this or that, and I love my I love
my my own boys. But it's just like we didn't
have the same vision. We didn't want to be the
same place. My palette is different, like yeah, like yeah,

(01:43:45):
I'm with you, with you, So it's just like now
you're weird, like different music now, you know what I'm saying.
I'm like getting up in the store listening. It's just
like he's bucking you know what I'm saying. You know,
So now I'm I'm eating healthy, I'm taking care of myself.
I lost sixty pounds. You know, where's all the gangsters

(01:44:05):
in the front row? Now is women throwing pantis at me?
I ain't going back, you know what I'm saying. I'm like, yo,
this is it. And it wasn't until so imagine everything
everybody at work I put out into the recession. It's
when I told myself that you're still free, you're still alive,
You're ad meant to be you'd meant to be a star.

(01:44:25):
And that's when I started kind of sitting the access.
But then when I got to what happened in um
the Bay, that's when I really said, I'm not even
gonna try to save face anymore. You know, I love y'all,
and I can take care of people from a distance.
You don't have to be with me every day for
you to feel to love because we're not on the

(01:44:46):
same path, you know what I'm saying. And that's that
was the realization. And I'm not disrespect to anyone because
I love everyone. But that's when my piece began. You
know what I'm saying. I can see it. And if
people love you, they want you to grow. Yeah, but
then sometimes people are scared if you go, you're gonna
leave the maham. You know what I'm saying, And that's
like the most dangerous. That's why I think real Fresh

(01:45:08):
ain't here. God what I'm saying, that's why Vonne ain't here.
You know what I'm saying, that's why Adobe ain't here,
That's why they're not That's why two PACs not you
what I'm saying, that's why Big is not here, like
because somebody was like, no, you can't go. You know
what I'm saying, You really just think, I mean, come on,
that's why Nipcy Hustle ain't here. Think about that. Hussle
ain't do nothing but good. But he stayed in the hood,

(01:45:31):
invested in his own book. There that felt like, I
don't want to see you go anything. Try to lead
by example, right, And that was that. But we spoke
about our presidents black and what we did touch on
is that nozzles on that record, Yes, but at one
point now have at least the album called Dead. At
this time, Atlanta is at the top of the motherfucker

(01:45:54):
So I knew what Naz was insinuating. But he was saying,
you know, the ethics of hip hop, but Atlanta being
so at the forefront of the game, it almost felt
like Atlanta. This shot was directed towards Atlanta, and you
was wanting to as a whole with two stories. I
met a nas in one twelve bathroom, just bathroom. I

(01:46:15):
was in there with all my change, A lot of
bathroom stories. Yeah, no, no, Once twelve the club's historical,
and I met him in the bathroom, you know, bathroom
the thing saying I'm not your jeez, You're like, yeah,
what's up? But I kind of felt like, you know
what I'm saying, Like you give me what I wanted,
you know what I'm saying. So I was like, oh,
you don't know me, So i'mnna use that for motivation.

(01:46:38):
So when I finally got on, I'm on death to
him on the same I think it was on death
him at the time, I'm on the same label you
on and I'm popping. So when I heard hip hop
is dead, I immediately felt like, you know, like you
basically saying because I'm on now, right, So they baited

(01:46:59):
me in there's what do you think about? What he's said?
Was like, ain't never bust this gun. I'm just going in.
But I don't even know him, you know what I'm saying.
And the craziest thing is there's a lot of people
in this game that I don't have respect for because
it's all of aacide. It's all about the money, it's
all about the cloud, it's all about you know what

(01:47:21):
they want you to believe. But the more conversations nas
than I had, I feel like he's hip hop's a
leap because he is the big home. But how does
this conversation start from you disagreeing with his state? Because
how you handle me? He called me? He said, Yo,
what's up? You know? He called me, so so you

(01:47:41):
go go crazy on on my phone? So calm. I
was ready to go to war, but I was ready
for him to say something crazy. I just couldn't wait,
he said. He said, what's up? King? He said peace? King?
I said, you know what's going on? He was like,
I can understand why you feel the way you feel,
and they just kind of walked me through with his
thought process as wool and I feel so crazy on

(01:48:02):
that phone. You know what I'm saying by the top
of guys like yeah, you know I love your music.
That's what I'm saying. We all to do a song
together one day, you know. He was like, yeah, no,
whatever you want. And when I called him for my
president is black, he said, I got you. He sent
that ship back and like and like and pulled up
in Atlanta in the hood by himself with his driver

(01:48:22):
to shoot the video and everything that I've ever done
in life that was an accomplishment for me. It's like
a top five people that give me a call. One
is whole, the other one is not. He always he
just he hit me the other days like peace King,
that's it, you know what I'm saying. Or peace King,
I see, that's it. And and to me, that's what

(01:48:45):
leading by leadership is about, because if he would have
got on my level and match my energy, who knows what,
but not even just it being all bad, he would
have still something me to make me be like that
the next young cats say something about me the water right.
So now I'm like, oh, yeah, you're not jumping him,

(01:49:07):
not jumping at you forced you not to jump at
like Freddy Gives or somebody else, because now I understand
the frustration. You know what I'm saying. I'm saying, like
ivery we all want to be on, we all want
to be important, we all want to be a significant
we all know we tellent. I told Freddy to give
that the day one bro you got you don't even
need me. Actually I'm in your way, but I'm gonna
be honest, but I'm in your way, but I got

(01:49:28):
too many issues out here. I got bad things that
I need to iron out because I haven't been there.
I haven't been the coolest guy with a lot of
these exects. You know, I'm getting the business. So I'm
still going off of my past or where I don't
check these people and they never forgotten. Not in position
is the powerty like I'm not giving him to deal,
you know what I'm saying. So it's like I'm hurting you.

(01:49:49):
I'm in your way. You got it and he did that.
You don't look at it right. So let let me.
You gotta record with Kendrick and J Cole, Kendrick and
j Cole, Remember I got I got. Kendrick is on there.
Jay Cole is on there. Okay, So Kendrick is my

(01:50:10):
man um. Shout out to Kendrick, he's my guy. Jake
Coles my guy as well. And I shot Jake cooler
text sent them the record and he loved it and
he did it. I was trying to get Kendrick to
rap on the record, but he said he didn't feel
it like that, so he would do the hook and uh,
bread to something what he did and he did it,

(01:50:32):
and I put it together and I was like, wow,
you know because again you know for me, this is
too hottest young boys. Yeah, now you're the O G
right And how did you get that? Though? I mean,
I just I think I out of just out of respect,
you know what I'm saying. I just think out of
respect and and and people seeing your visions as well,

(01:50:53):
you know what I'm saying. Like, remember Kendrick hit me
about when his records early on. You see Kendrick new
dance and he did on stage, Yeah music, man, make
it feel you know, I felt they do. This is

(01:51:15):
a bigger It's just I can't move like he killed it.
He felt like a South siddle you can put music
right there right looking like yeah, Now, I just I
think it's out of respect. I mean even Andre three
thousand when I we stopped tuning for I do know
Andre don't really do feature and he was just like, yeah,

(01:51:35):
send it, knock it out. Can't pay, Andre, you can't pay.
It's not about And even when he came out to
do my tenure anniversary show, and he came out, it
was like seeing a unicorn. And I remember the greatest
thing I remember unicorn. I remember seeing him. I was
twice so for the song. I'm coming downstairs Mr season

(01:51:56):
l a the hotel and he said the elevator, like, Dre,
what's going on? Said and talk fifteen minutes. I got
this record. He should send it to me, knocks it out.
This is like fast for or four years later, I'm
at the same hotel. I'm in a lobby. He's coming
down the elevator. I'm like, yo, he had a good talk. No,
he had a flute. I think that that and he said, Um,

(01:52:18):
I said, your dream doing this tenure anniversary next week.
I would love for you to come out. He said,
give me a number. I'll call you. He called me
the day before. He's like, I talked to my homies.
They said I should do this. I said, Yo, you
gotta come. I had Yeah, I had Um, I had Yeah,
I had dre um. The list goes on. It was
crazy and he's like, yeah, I'll do it. He came

(01:52:40):
and Drake no, yeah, and Okay, okay, Dre and you
know boys in the hood. It's crazy. So my ten university.
He came. He rocked when he walked out. Bro, It's like,
I think people it took people at least a couple
of minutes to realize, yeah, he's and it was crazy
because he wanted to mate with the cord. You know

(01:53:02):
what I'm saying, like you wanted. That happened to me
twice in my carid because when I was on when
I was on a Blueprint three tour with JA, we
had Madison Square Garden, right, and all you heard on
the radio is about little Wayne going to jail for
his gun chars. That's all you heard, right. So I
already had Drake and I had Nicki Minas to come

(01:53:22):
out on my set right coming into London Hotel in
New York, and guess who's on the elevator Wayne, And
I said, damn man, I thought you had to turn
yourself in today. He said, you never believe this. The
courthouse flooded, So I gotta turn myself in tomorrow. I said,
you gotta come out tonight on my set. He said,

(01:53:43):
bat I'm there. So I bring Nicki Minaj out during
my set. I know because I remember Jake peeking behind
the curtains like what the hell because I'm me JA
on tour. But I come out in the middle of
Jay said and do my set and he comes back out.
Remember j peek behind the courage, like, what the hell
is going on out there? So I brought a Nick
him in outs first, and then I brought out Drake,
and then me and I brought Wayne out and we

(01:54:04):
did I'm going in with Drake. And when Wayne came
out there, man, the whole building was just like it
was the crazies shit I've seen like as far as shows,
and I was just like, damn, But the whole thing
was everybody in New York thought he was in jail. Yeah,
You's what I'm saying. The elevator is important. If you said,
somebody come out of the elevator, you know, go ahead

(01:54:26):
make that. You know what I mean. Terrible, But you
got look at the names you're listing. It's like anybody's
top five. You got Wayne Kendrick that you didn't work with.
I would love. I would have loved work with Pocket
before he passed. But the only other person I wouldn't
want to work with this shot there. Yeah, because I

(01:54:49):
always Maxwell was one. But one day I was in
New York and I was just hanging out. I mean Maxwell,
I got real cool. He just came pull up on
me the studio and we did this record out of
the Blue recorded the song and it's on one of
my drives I've been looking for for like six years.
You put it out, no, So I'm telling when I
find that drive, I'm putting it out. But me and

(01:55:10):
Maxwell got a record. He was one of the ones
I wanted to do something, but sho and did you
have a chord? The verses in the talk together, I
just feel like Maxwell lace versus. Actually he laid his
versus in the control room. He wanted up mike with

(01:55:31):
a chord, and he's sitting there like he's performing. Okay,
that's all. So yeah, I knew it was gonna be yea.
But yeah, No, I had an amazing run. Like I
feel like, and I'm just getting started. I feel like
that even when I think about all the stuff me
and Hovid done, and then's not just because it's top tier.

(01:55:52):
It's just because we we got things that you know,
people don't have, like meaning like we got history and
our records and any that I've done a record with.
You know, you take um, Kanye, you take hold, you
take um. I mean you name it what I'm saying,
dirt Drake Nas. It was always a point where we

(01:56:14):
pushed the envelope a little bit and it made, you know,
just something that was legendary. So I'm very happy about
that because again, I didn't come into the game to
be a rapper, right, I was trying to be a CEO.
And now you're at the top, right. Yeah. And it's
been times where, you know, I've been in the studio

(01:56:38):
with people and I'm just like, yo, how on the hell?
You know what I'm saying? Am I gonna And that's
my best work because I've been with Jay you know,
doing seen it all and you know, you see jay
Z in the studio, they ain't you know what I'm saying,
It's different even Ross. Yeah, but let's go to better
believe it feature in boos Oh man, we just had Booty.

(01:57:00):
Let's not even talk about the song, justence the experience
boost is one of the kind of by yes, yes,
we noticed, right. And I really respect Boosey's perspective because
that's where aunts and Uncle's taught us. He's never forgot
that though, you know what I'm saying, Like he understands
that's what it is. And probably because he's so and

(01:57:22):
this I'm gonna say this wrong. What y'all gonna mean
what I said, Boosey reminds me of the fly that
you know, the thing, the thing that when we go
to your grandma house, she got the thing on the
coming from the ceiling to get the f and the
leather sofa, the plastic plastic on the sofa. It's old

(01:57:46):
school moral. Listen, first of all. And I'm not saying
because you know, I'm not preaching violence or whatever when
I don't got Boosey called me when Boosey first Well,
two things that I was with him when he first
got out the last time he got out, and then
he called on me when we did better believe it
to come to bad Ruge. Well, he actually called me
before that. I was head of the Texas or something,
and he was doing a giveaway for some kids, and

(01:58:08):
I told my tour bus driver to turn the bus around.
We drove Baton Rouge and I went out there and
um with him and gave away bicycles and all that.
So that's how I knew how and bet he was
in the community. That's that's who he is. Like he
got a great heart. Um. But when we did better
believe it, I came down and I stayed in this
hotel in Bad Rules. If you know anything about Bad Ruge,

(01:58:29):
I'm like, I'm a five star guy. I'm like, whole
ship in the room service like what we're doing. And
I go there and we do the video, and this
is the first time I've ever seen an extend the clips.
Every little guy that was with Boosey had him hanging
out of his pocket, and I'm just like, what is that?
You know what I'm saying, Like, what's going on? He
pulled it out. I was like, oh, ship, you know
what I'm saying. So I was just like, so that's

(01:58:49):
the first thing I noticed about him. You don't got
no security, it's just those little guys to be with him.
But then what I immediately noticed was the type of
respect that he had where he's from. This movie is
just like a dot of battery, bro. Like I'm talking
about like he's presidential. And we go do the video.

(01:59:11):
Video goes well, So now I'm in Baton Rouge. There's
no flight leaving out, so i gotta stay tonight. So
what you're gonna do when you're in Bad Rules? He's like,
let's go to the club. I'm like, yeah, bad come
pick me up. So they come pick me up about
ten fifteen cars deep, so I might be going to
the club. I got my jewels. Oh my smell good.
You know what I'm saying. I think we're about to
go hit it. We pull up in front of a house.
It's a million cars at this house. Went to a

(01:59:34):
house party, bad roof, but this is the club. So
we're talking this house. We're walking to this house. There's
no lie. We're walking to this house and it's cracking.
Do you walk through the house? Then you get to
the backyard and that's where the club is at. So
it's in the backyard in a fence, got a picture, booth,

(01:59:55):
ball everybody out there. It's crazy club. It's the house though.
It's like you're going to the house in the neighborhood,
but that's the club. I'm just sitting around like, oh ship,
Like this is the club. So we went in there,
we had it, we lit up, we had a great time.
And then, um, I don't forget. I told Booty when
he got into trouble. I was like, yo, bro, you

(02:00:16):
gotta get out of bad rules because it's like, really,
you're too big, you know what I'm saying. And I
think the last time he got in trouble. We talked,
you know, I just remember him moving to Atlanta. So
I'm just really happy that he got itself out of
the situation because he was what it was in my eyes.
I don't even know if he see it the same way.
He's too powerful there and there was he said it though,
he said most rappers get murdered, and they said that

(02:00:36):
that's the reason why he got out of his own
But I only think that. I think it was with
law enforcement. He was too powerful and they wasn't gonna
let that going for long. Because it was the last
time I talked to Booty, he was like, he wrote
me a letter and he said they was trying to
give him the death penalty. So imagine you're reading the letter.
You're sitting there and it's just like, yo, you know,

(02:00:57):
this is what I'm going through, you know, and they're
giving me the death pendal tea know, I'm just like, damn,
like you know what I'm saying. So shout out to
Booty for making it out of that. Let's take this
whole you know what I'm saying, sh shid of for
you know, getting back on his feet. You know what
I'm saying, doing how to really was do it? Yeah?
That was beautiful. I'll be okay man, welcome back. Yeah sir,

(02:01:25):
when when when when did you? Um? What was that recket?
But like who was your my friend? I mean it
was like I did it for I did it and
then I put on the mixtape as well, and it
blew from there as well. Um, it was me, him
and Webby and I just always knew that bumb and
Pempsey had a real love for them, you know what
I'm saying. And they had this whole chipling circuit thing

(02:01:47):
on lock where they was like it was booked like
every day of the week, and even when they came
through town, it's just like every hood, every ghetto there
was out, you know what I'm saying. We called at
one point though he did Yeah, he said it wasn't
even the same time zone, right. Yeah. I didn't never understand.
Yeah I didn't. I didn't understand that either. I knew Bun,

(02:02:09):
but I didn't know Pimpantill. Ok. Yeah, I knew Bun.
I didn't know Pimp until we got out and when
we did get throwed with me him and jay Z okay, right,
and then everything was worked out. I mean it wouldn't.
I didn't. I didn't have an issue, right, right, right,
you know what I'm saying. I just think a lot
of the things that he was saying, people kind of

(02:02:31):
thought he was talking about me, But um, but I didn't.
I didn't know him, so I didn't. I didn't get that.
It couldn't have been about you, right, I didn't like that. Well,
you know what, jeez, man, gonna be honest. Gave us
every day. Man, I would like to take one more
shot with you. Come on, let's do it hard, the
hard no only Nori, yes yo, No, jeez man, I'm

(02:02:56):
gonna be honest. Man, you're a legend. Your person that
needs uh deserves to be my drink? Okay bad? Yeah,
that watermelon? Um that needs to be respected. Uh, you
paid your dudes, play the game right. You did everything

(02:03:16):
you're supposed to do. We want to always salute you,
we want to always respect you. That's what our show
is about. Now, everybody else want to give out flowers.
Everybody else want to We've been doing that. We've been
doing that. And because um, your story is beautiful, man,
your story is a real one. Your story needs to
be repeated. So when it's the official snow forky one

(02:03:41):
back in my bag. Let's expect humber greatness. Man, I'm
really happy about this because again it's just like me
and drama. He's hosting this, so this is this is
he's hosting it. He's hosting it. Okay, you're gonna hear
that good. That's all. And don't forget to check us
on Patreon. Oh yeah, we hatreon dot com. Force Last
Drink Champs. Let me just say something, Jess, when you

(02:04:05):
do a non political podcast, we want to talk to
you about it less because yeah, yeah, yeah, we want,
we want, we want. We won't help you out less
you help yourself. Yo, Man, you'll thank you all. Your
whole crew was very professional, all of them. They can't
make sure they make sure the product was there. I
love your whole crew, even down to the secutest cutity.

(02:04:27):
Want to make sure you know what the walk. I
love all that. I love all that because you know why.
This is my last question. Do you move different now
that all of these rappers are disappearing? I wouldn't say
move different? Is then I moved? How I know how
to move because I know nobody's exempt that. I'm never

(02:04:50):
gonna I'm never gonna let nobody to sensitize me because
of my position. I know what it is. It's been
that way since I jumped off the ports. Ain't nothing changed,
you know what I'm saying, just a little more active.
But I think God for being through the things that
I went through on the street level, because I feel
like that's what got me to where I'm at as

(02:05:12):
far as you know, morals and not just flipping and
doing crazy things. Of course, everybody got their you know,
their stuff. But what I'm saying it is like I
think that's the best gift I ever received is survival.
You know what I'm saying, and what you're saying, it
makes a lot of sense because when you met me,
I was living for survival. You know what I'm saying

(02:05:35):
out of survival and the reason why it's so thin
because now I'm living not love meaning that you know,
I employed people, you know what I'm saying. They get
a chance to live out their dreams. You know what
I'm saying. I I've accumulated things that you don't have
to take no more shots, right what I'm saying. But um,

(02:05:59):
it's differ living out a lot a lot of out
of survival and and living out of love because just
like I love what I do, I love my people,
I love you know what I represent. You know, I
love getting better, I love evolving, I love giving game.
You know what I'm saying. I love surviving. So it's
just like, you know, it's it's it's a different world now,

(02:06:21):
meaning that you know when I said skies a limit,
you know that was half the truth. Ain't know, you
know what I'm saying that that's it. You know what
I'm saying, And now I see that more than ever.
So it's just like, but however, I don't forget what
I'm a child of, where I come from, the cloth

(02:06:42):
that I am, because that's what keeps me safe. And
that's why I'm maybe to go in these places and
be around these people. Because I I was in Detroit
two days ago. I felt like I was home. You
know what I'm saying on the block, you know, shout
out to full one, you know, think of as Strathmore.
But at the same time, I might head on the
spiel was just like there us, you know what I'm saying.
Because the police pull up, guess what, we're all together.

(02:07:04):
They don't care that I'm jeasy, I'm saying, right. But
at the same time, I love that because that's the
one thing that I have when I walk in the

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
