Speaker 1 (00:11):
Welcome to a very special episode. It is time for
the Batman movie draft.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Hello everybody.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Jasonman here, Welcome to Geek History Lesson. I also have
my lovely co host here.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
I was wondering if I got to sit in silence
like all the guests for ten minutes before the podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Oh no, no, no, real podcast. If you don't know, Welcome
to Geek host Lson. We're the podcast where we take
once epic and pop culture and we break it down
a little bit less an hour. But today we're not
doing that, are we, my lovely co host.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
No, we're not. Because as a Canadian comic book writer
and a TV writer from Kansas, we know a thing
or two about how to tell a story and how
to cast the thing, and so we said we're better
than all of WB and we're going to do it
right now.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
So did you introduce yourself at a way?

Speaker 3 (00:52):
I'm Ashley Victoria Robinson.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Make sure. We also have a couple of special guests here.
We have GHL researchers. Isn't Diego? Anthony Nunies Welcome, Good Sarah.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Hi, everybody, how's it going?

Speaker 1 (01:01):
And we have the host of the Only Stupid Answers
podcast and writer of the Fabulous Danger Boy DJ Wilfridges.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Oh that's me, yes, we.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
You know, DJ and I just talked about the death
of Tom Cruise for about an hour.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
So now and now giving away your weekend plans, I said, now.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
We are talking about the Batman movie draft. So this
is something that Diego and I have developed. And we
first often need to say that this was inspired by
the James Bonding podcast. They have this very famous episode
where they sort of did this movie draft of James Bond,
and we thought, could you do that for other characters?
And I will say that I think Diego Anthony Nunio
is crack the code and figured this out and we

(01:40):
so we have we're gonna do a Batman movie draft.
So what this means is that Ashley, DJ and I
we have a bunch of different categories and we are
gonna make different selections of things from Batman movies with
a little bit of luck, a little bit of skill
to craft the ultimate Batman film. Now tld R.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
I know this is geek history lesson, but if this
was sports history lesson, if you're familiar with fantasy football,
it's very similar.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Yeah, it is fantasy. So we're gonna explain the rules.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
We're gonna give you all the categories and basically that way,
if you want to play at home, you can't.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
And then we're also gonna we're all gonna.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Make craft or Ultimate Batman Movie. And then at the
end of this, DJ Ashley and I are gonna give
our pitches on our Batman movies and we're gonna have
a poll. We're gonna have you guys vote on them. Now,
the cool thing about this is please let us know
in the comments if you guys like this, because we
could do this to all kinds of things. There's lots
of different things. So if you're not a fantasy draft

(02:41):
nerd Diego, why don't you tell everybody what is the
type of draft we are pulling today? And would you
explain how it works? So we're gonna be we should explain.
Diegle is our commissioner. He's our draft commissioner.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
That's what I'm here for. Yeah, So basically we're gonna
be doing this snake draft, meaning in the order of
one two three in this instance, since we have three participants, Yeah,
and basically be in the traditional or one two three
after that first round is done, then we will go
in reverse order of Let.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I just ask you to put your microphone look closer.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
There you go, thank you, and go in that reverse
order of three two one, and then and following the
next round, so on and so forth of one two three,
three two one.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
You know, I'm back and it'll it'll make sense once
we do it a couple of times. Yeah, Uh okay,
So we're gonna have we have we have sorry, just
going mat We have nine different categories. We have three
bonus categories that we may not get to, but we're
just gonna we have nine different categories here that we're
all gonna pick. Each category has at least five options
to pick from. Every one of them have plenty of

(03:43):
options to choose from. We had to make some hard
rules here, and uh, diego, do you want to explain
like certain like what are rules for with like sidekick
at alla a word?

Speaker 2 (03:53):
So absolutely yeah. So for example, when we have certain
options like sidekicks, there's only limited options that we have.
So we have things like Robin Dick Grayson specifically, or
Barbara Gordon's Batgirl or Black Canara or Huntress, and we
also have an alternate and an alternate basically means is
it will be an alternative pick for a drafter to
choose only four categories or out of the three sorry,

(04:15):
three categories, out of the twelve. My bet if a
drafter chooses an alternate as their pick in the sidekick
category as an example, that is taken off the table
from the other drafters for that category, each drafter can
only use an alternate pick once in the entire game exactly.
So you got to think very carefully where you want
to use this alternate, because there's three categories where this

(04:36):
could be applicable.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
And I want to bring up we have this very
important rule about alternates. It means you can pick any
character from a comic TV show, anything, it has to
be in Batman lore. So you can't you cannot want
an old Chorzenegger to play Robin, or you cannot introduce
Superman into this movie draft. That is the rule. It
has to be something related to Now. Also, I will
tell you if you want to wiggle those lines. We

(04:59):
are going to lead the final ruling down to our commissioner. Yeah,
there's certain recasting choices or certain things, but the main.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Thing is, don't worry. I'm ready to crush they put
this into play. But just just.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
To like throw it out there, you could you could
throw out there, let's say from one of the one
of the categories for altern is sidekick. So I'm just
gonna make a crazy version where there is a version
where you can be like, I want Stephen Yun to
be Terry McGinnis, my bad.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
I do want that.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
So like I'm just but you cannot use your alternate
to recast. So you cannot recast Chris O'donald Robin to
a different Robin. You can't.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
You can't be like I want al Pacino to beat
my Robin.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
You cannot do that.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Well. And also the specifically because Robin is very broad,
specifically Dick Grayson, Like, you cannot recast Burt Ward or
Chris or O'donnald if you want either one of those.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
If you want Dick Grayson Robin, you have to use
those two actors exactly. Yeah, because we're sticking to the
Batman movies.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
All right, Yeah, maybe this is too early. Throw a
spanner in the works, please, There is a Dick Grayson,
Robin and the Titans TV show.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
This is specifically the movies.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
Okay, all right, so if I wanted to do that,
that'd be an alternate.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
If it would, it.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Would be an alterned.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Okay, so we should know, Diego, why don't you explain
the villains to us all?

Speaker 2 (06:16):
So the villains thing is, this is the only instance
that this will happen. Because there's been so many villains
and it's so much to pick from it.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
You should just eat that microphone. Okay.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
So because there's been friends, We've got every microphone we
own in play right now.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Because there's been so many versions of the villains, like
Joker and paying One and so on and so forth.
If you are to pick let's say, Joker, you have
to specify, and Joker will be taken off the table
with he. So like let's say, if you want.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
So there's like one Joker in all three of our movies,
but you can pick whichever who.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Yeah, you specify, but Joker will be off the table.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
And we should also say that, like you know, for specifically,
like for the Batman's when if you say like Val
Kilmer or George Cleaner, Christian Bale, it is Val Kilmer,
Christian Bale or George Clooney at the time of those movies.
So it is nineties Val Kilmer. It is two roousands.
Christian Bale. You can't say like modern Christian Bale is
your bat No, if you're saying Christian Bale is your Batman,
it is Dark Knight era Christian Bale.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
You're taking him off bat Yeah, you know time.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Is it is Adam West as a young man. If
you pick Adam with several Batman actress have passed, yes, exactly,
So that is also very specific. So like also to
put you in there is replies to because there's only
ever been one Barbara Gordon in a Batman movie. Alicious
Silverstone is the Barbara Gordon, right, That is the choice
you have. That is the choice you have to go with,

(07:37):
because again we're sort of working with studio executive rules here,
so it's like a studio Warner Brothers cast. That person
is that part, that's the person's probably had an overall deal. Yeah.
So yes, Oh, there's only one Joker, there's only one penguin,
there's only one Bane for this entire thing, And we
kind of did that to make it more exciting, because again,
you know.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
We might take other choice.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
The part of the thing about making this a draft
is that you know, we might all be fighting for
Heath Ledger Joker and whoever gets there first. I'm not
you know, I don't know, but I bet you there
is some person.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Sure I will not be fighting for True's not gonna.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Have any there is some version.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
I mean maybe because we only have three people, we
might not. But like you know, the fun thing about
doing this is a draft, is that you're sort of
fighting your friends for these like puzzle.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Someone's gonna lose something precious.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Yeah, okay, so we specifically you only heat Ledge, Joker whatever.
After the draft is done. We always said we will
have a brief recess five to ten minutes to craft
our story and then.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
We'll all pitch on it.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Uh, diggo, is there anything that we are missing you
can think of? Now you all listeners, you might that's
a lot of information, I know, and you might be confused,
But I think you're gonna understand it once we start.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Yeah, I agree, Yeah, once it kind of gets rolling,
I think you guys will get the idea because it's
it's been a tough time trying to explain this to
certain people and it's just like, wait, what's happening? But yeah,
have you been explained it to your friends. Yeah. I've
explained it to some friends and I'm like, oh, I'm
doing this, and they're like, I don't know what that means.
I don't play sports. I'm like, you know what fair?

Speaker 3 (09:02):
I just want to say that we have yet to determine, uh,
the order that we're gonna draft in, and I just
I JS we should do Zodiac order. And it's not
because aries is the first I.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Was gonna do.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
I'm sure I was gonna do a virtual dice roll
for everybody. Okay, that's fair. Okay, so, uh, DJ, you
are our guest. Yeah, you can get the first roll. Okay,
we're gonna hit it. We're doing is on Google. Here
we got unless somebody has a six, we're gonna have

(09:34):
a tie breaker here.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Okay, Ashley, here is yours. It is a two gait.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
I guess I'll be going your last year is mine.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
It is a four.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
So the draft diego is going to go DJ me Ashley,
and I'm very feminist to be.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
The class to clarify for the next round. The following
round will be Ashley, Jason and then DJ correct. So
meaning you get to choices based you get two turns.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
I just wanted to whine about it.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Did you have a question?

Speaker 5 (10:04):
No, I just thought I assumed six would be last.
But I'm not gonna I'm not gonna complain.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
I'm gonna say I was like, do you want to
go through? Do you want to do a reverse order?

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Now?

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Doesn't change anything? No?

Speaker 5 (10:18):
No, nope, that's all right.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
If that's all right?

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Do you want for Batman?

Speaker 2 (10:22):
All right?

Speaker 1 (10:23):
So let's uh, Diego, let's really quickly say to everybody
the categories just so the listeners if they want to
play along at home, and then after.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
That we will officially start the draw.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
I will add this, if people want to play this
along at home, we will post our categories. They're gonna
go up on Patreon. Will they go public? Who knows?
Come check them out at Patreon? Will make a public
we should say.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Patreon, Patreon dot com, slash John and J A.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
W I N. We have lots of bonus podcasts. We
have the Talking Titans podcast with Diego and Ashley. They
do lots of stuff. We have the Just League podcast.
We the Batman Forever Movie Club.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
We got about six cashow us an episode.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
I'm just saying there's like seven bonus podcast there there
is like four hundred hours of content, and if you
come over to that Patreon, it's part of the reason
why I'm almost certain that Diego gets to have an
extra coffee every single month because.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
That guy that doesn't drink coffee. You don't realize that's
his part time job.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
That's not a lie, you know. So you basically I'm
just saying, if you want Diego to be able to
afford a coffee every month, you better cover to patreon
dot com slash joba.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
A one cup of coffee. You didn't give a cup
of coffee to dis.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Yeah, thank you, guys, thank you. Okay, So categories we
will have Batman, Alfred, Catwoman, a villain, Diego.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
I don't mean to stop you there, I'm sorry. Sure,
Let's let's alternate here, Okay, sure, Batman say who all
the matt.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Okay, I didn't know if that would take too long.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Let's let's take let's take let's take long.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Okay, okay, cool.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
So I'll I'll alternate with you. So once you kick
it off with Batman.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Okay, cool. So for our first category, we have Batman
and in that category we have Adam West, Michael Keaton,
val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and Robert Pattinson.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
And again we're sticking in the movie. So Adam West
did have a Batman movie.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Jason and I saw it together in cinema.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
For Alfred.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
For Alfred, you have Alan Napier from Batman sixty six,
Michael go from the nineties Batman movies, Michael Caine from
the Dark Knight trilogy, Jeremy Irons from Batman v. Superman,
and Andy Serkis from The Batman.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
And then our next category is Catwoman, where we have
Lee Merriweather, Michelle Pfeiffer, Anne Hathaway, Zoe Kravitz, and alternate.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
By the way, another reason you want to be on
patroons because Jason tells a story about that one time
Lee mary Weather hitting on him at comic Con.

Speaker 5 (12:36):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
We also decided what everybody you also do not have
to pick these in certain orders. Again, that's gonna be
the fun thing about this is because somebody might be
Russian for Catwoman first pick.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Yeah, right, We're gonna really reveal what's important to you, yus.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
So another category we have is Sidekick. We have Robin,
which can be Burt Ward, Chris O'Donnell. We have Batgirl
which can be Alicia Silverstone, Huntress, Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Black
Canary is Journey Smollett. And then this is where the
alternate come in. This is our first alternate that it
reveals again you only get one alternate for the entire game.
What's the next category day?

Speaker 2 (13:07):
And then we also have female leads, which is Vicky
Vale played by Kim Basinger, Doctor Chase Meridian from Nicole
kitt or by Nicole.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
Kidman, Nicole the Mind of Nicole Gidness.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Julie Madison played by Ellie McPherson, Rachel Dawes, either Katie
Holmes or Maggie Gillenhall, and another alternate.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
And we have the villain. We have Joker, which can
be Caesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Jared Laedo or
Joaquin Phoenix. As we are including Jagheen, Penguin which can
be Burgess Merited, Danny DeVito or Colin Farrell, Riddler which
can be Frank Gorshen, Jim Carrey or Paul Dano ros All, Goul.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Which could be Liam Neeson.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
You know what, we didn't put this on there, but
I'm going to allow if you want to do ken
want to not be go, Yeah, two face Billy d Williams,
Tommy Lee Jones or Aaron Eckhart. Mister Freeze Arnold Swartzeneger
is your only choice if you're going for mister Freeze,
strong and wrong, Strong and Tom Hardy or the person

(14:05):
I think we're all gonna be fighting for, Robert Swinson,
the late great Roberts Winson. Yeah, we also have secondary villaindie,
but that our secondary villain category.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
We have Poison Ivy played by Uma Thurman, Scarecrow by
Killian Murphy, Tall y'all al gool from Marion call to
all right, thank you, KG Beast CALLI and Molby I
am butchering Ny.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
We don't know that one either.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
This would have been my first pick. Harley Quinn, Margaret Robbie,
Victor zazz by Chris Massinia or Tim Booth. And death
Stroke by Joe Man Juliani just for the fun of it,
because he only had that one brief moment he was
in the movie.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
He was, Yeah, we were robbed death Stroke.

Speaker 5 (14:49):
It looked cool, like a lot of exceller So it
looks cool.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
It looks cools a great music video.

Speaker 5 (14:52):
Yeah, it looks cool.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Then the next category we have is why don't you
take Batmobile people last year story?

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Okay, uh so Lincoln Future from the Batman sixty six?

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Did you gotta have a Batman movie to Batmobile?

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Yes, exactly. The nineteen sixty seven Chevy Paula I Paula
rather from Batman eighty nine and returns the Chevrett and
Paula not a date specific from Batman Forever. The custom
Futuristic Designs was the best I could find.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
I called the Corvette. Yeah, we're saying this is because
like Diego originally just had it was funny. It was
like Batmobile. Batman said Batmobile, and I was like and
I was like, no, we should have some way to suspect that.
Though that would have been what I did too. I
don't know nothing about cars. I basically was like, we
should be able to distinguish them a little bit.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Batman Robin was the only one that was like, there
wasn't a foundation. It just said Futuristic design called.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Up the Corvette because it doesn't have a roof.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
There tank slashed the tumbler from Batman begins a Chevy
in Paula Tank Hybrid from Batman t Superman and the
Jodge Charger from The Batman.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
I thought it was like a Mustang. I can't believe
it was a Dodge Chargers.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Yeah, that was probably the body, right, and then they
built the fiber and then to make.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
This a little fun, this is the one here is yes,
oh yeah, Diego did not want to put this in there,
and I was like, we have to do this one. Uh.
You know, that's something that I think is missing any
movies nowadays, and that's nineties.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
R and B pop music.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
So your Batman movie has to use a needle drop.
This is got my songs ready, this is so these
are your choices. You have to put a song in
your Batman movie. So your choices are the Batman sixty
six main theme from Batman sixty six, bat Dance by
Prince by Batman, and nine. We were not going to

(16:35):
be playing these, so I hope you were familiar with
some of these songs.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Face to Face by.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
The Batteran Turs, kiss from a Rose by Seal Batman Forever,
a Conic, hold Me, thrill Me, kiss Me Kill Me
by You two Batman Forever. The end is the beginning
is the end by the Smashing Pumpkins Batman Robin. You
might remember Zack Snyder used that in the Watchman trailer,
really good trailer, Icky thumbs by the white stripes for
Sax Snyders just the sleep kind of Yeah, that was

(17:01):
the come together by Gary Clark Junior and Junkie Excel.
Zack Snyder is just like, remember all the Just League
trailers were like good, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (17:10):
Those trailers were not as good.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
No, Paul McCartney got like a quarter every time we watched.
Honestly good for Pau McCartney.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
So now we know, we know the draft order, we
know all the categories.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
I did watch in real time. DJ realized we didn't
have to do the categories that order.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
Yeah, that changed the game for me. Yeah. If we
don't have to go in order, it's like, okay, hold
on a second.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
Yeah, you have personal priorities into this.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
The thing is es since you get the first pick, DJ, Yeah,
you should really think of the only one who definitely
gets what you You definitely get your first pick, no
matter what if she was.

Speaker 5 (17:47):
An alternate, that takes it off the table.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
For that whole category. That makes me feel bad for
that category.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
For that category, get one, as.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
We're gonna go into the second. I went to the mouth,
don't man, he is ready to go. This is the
excitement of a draft. I remember when I first pitched this, Diego,
and I was like, we're gonna do this. I think
your first response was like what.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
I was very confused. I was scared and confused. And
then like when I listened to the James Bonding podcast
and it made sense, I was like, Oh, this is
gonna be really fun.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Okay, so this is there's no competitions.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Like I said, I'm very excited the competition.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Oh all right, I'm very excited by the way I
am fully revealed. Just because of my current work schedule,
I am doing this off the top of my dome.
I besides helping Diego come up with this list, I
have put no thought into this. So you're getting You're
getting very much my improv batman off the top of
my head. So we're gonna get to this. We know

(18:45):
the draft goes DJ Ashley, No, no, DJ. Yeah, that's
why we got you commissioned, Diego, and you're gonna be
holding this. Also when you make your pick, Diego, you
will sort of be the master of ceremonies, so you
will be like, okay, now DJ's you're now is your turn?
Nows your turn?

Speaker 5 (19:01):
Question?

Speaker 2 (19:02):
And and you will.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
Everybody gets thirty seconds yes to make their decision. Now,
if you're ready to go and just say it cool
and then we'd love to hear like why you made
that choice? Maybe you don't want to give away everything,
but like, you know, why did you pick that choice? Yes,
diego for the commissioner. I just think commissioned. Well, that's
what I want to call you.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Commissioner. Diego Well, Commissioner Gordon. How about miss for the
rest of your commissioner?

Speaker 5 (19:20):
How about that?

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Yeah, we'll do that. Commissioner Unia, was that your question?

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Yes? We should?

Speaker 2 (19:26):
I want the title. Yes, I'll be the commission with
the you know the python, don't you know? Being the
Commissioner of Gotham is a shitty joke. I know, but you're.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Gonna I'm certainly going to be killed.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
My best friend is a guy at a bat costume
that will never tell me his truth.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
That's true, and you will, you will, you will see
Harley Quinn. Everyone long, that's true.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
The current Commissioner of Gotham is Vandal savage in the comics.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
Is that true?

Speaker 4 (19:49):
I was reading Metamorpho and it's like a plot point.
I'm like, because it's kind of metamorphous, kind of a
joky book. I'm like, Oh, there's a joke. No, that's
what's going on.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
I'm like, what, yeah, they also recently what yeah, Wow,
this is a different episode.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
We gotta draft.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Okay, I'm mad about that.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
And that, friends, is what it's like to be a
comic book reader.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Speaking of being a comic reader, you always have advertisements,
and I'm sorry we got to go to ads. But
right after these ads, we're gonna kick off the bat
the first ever geek history lesson Batman movie draft. Right
after this g h L, we are back for the
first ever Batman movie draft. And without further ado, I
don't think I should say anything else. I think I

(20:33):
need to give it to our grand and esteemed Commissioner
Nunia Is to.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
Kick it off.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Welcome everybody, So d you day we're gonna kick Do
we have any do you have any opening remarks?

Speaker 1 (20:42):
Commission Unions any any any inspiring words or I mean,
what do you what do you think here? Commission Union is?
Let them fight?

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Okay, all right reference.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
Okay, so we're starting with me and I can I
can do any of you. Thing you pick is gonna
start now, Okay, I'm.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
Gonna go with sidekick. I'm gonna pick an alternate.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
Here's why because most of these other things I look
at like I can make this work. I can make
this work. I'm looking at our sidekick lineup. I'm like,
I don't. I can't really make most of these work.
And you said you'd allow it. So I want to say,
Dick Grayson from Titans played by Brenton Thwaits, that version
of Dick Grayson for the alternate.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
I think we can allow it.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Yeah, yeah, just because Dick Grayson is specifically it's Batman media.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
We said media. Yeah, and I know it's a TV show,
but I think we can. If you want to overrule me,
I think we can allow it.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Yell, Okay, I'll make one more argument because we also
do have a Robin and I don't.

Speaker 5 (21:37):
And this doesn't take that.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Robin is off the board.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
But I can say but I can't.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
But with because the night Wing, I think we can allow.

Speaker 5 (21:44):
Okay, so so but specifically Brenton wwaites as night Wing.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Yeah, I will allow that. Yeah, and I will say
right now, U s O B.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
I was gonna make that same thing.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
I'm sorry, here's the thing. It's the only good And
also we've never gotten a good Robin. It breaks my heart.
It's like, why are we so afraid of rob?

Speaker 2 (22:08):
We were all gonna pick that safe. I love that
round was not Batman?

Speaker 5 (22:12):
You know what everyone was looking at?

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Sidekick? All right, so alternate sidekick is off the board.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Ofternate sidekick is off the board.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Right to DJ, all right, damn, that was gonna be
my firstfect too.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Jas that's a good pick. That's a really good pick,
really solid. Okay, okay, Jason, your turn thirty Timers starts now.
All right.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
I actually think that the category that everybody's overlooking right
here that is really gonna muck up the works is
actually the Batman theme needle drop, and I am taking
the only good song that I think is in that batch.
Kiss from a Rose by Seal is coming to my movie.

Speaker 5 (22:47):
All right, classic iconic.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
I have another good luck explaining how your movie works
with any of these other songs.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
A quick question is animated stuff off the table when
it comes to alternates.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
Yes, I think we would say, so it would specifically
be live action.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Yeah, because it's it's just gonna get into a weird
Apples and Oranges if we go animated. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
And then in this instance too, like alternates, I will
like allow fan casting and stuff like that. So if
there's any like character that you have in mind that
you want and you wanted to like just cast an
actor that you always thought would be good for.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
This, yeah, like I would say, like, yeah, like we
for that weird choice. Like if you wanted to put
Mark Hamill as some Batman villain, that's fine, but it's
it's live action Mark Hamill as that villain, all right? Cool?
So I took Kiss from the Roast from you all, Ashley.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
I'm gonna do female lead, and I'm gonna do an
alt Okay, I'm gonna do a fan cast. I want
Erica Durants to play Andrea Beaumont. Oh my movie.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
I love that.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Thank you so much. Because you took Brenton Thras from
literally have No Sakes lest anything. That was My whole
plan was around that.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
So also there was a Tim Drake in that show too, Yeah, not.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
My Tim Drake.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Alternate.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Also, I couldn't have that Jason Todd from Titans, who
I think is also a great live action Jason.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Yes, yeah, that's so funny. Okay, Actually, you get your
second turn and your timer starts.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
Now, all right, it's time to pick a Batman, and
I'm taking Val Kilmer. I think he's an amazing Batman
and I want to give him the movie he deserves.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Dang it.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
All right, so Valcil, I'm gonna do two bags to
back his heart. Jason, Now it is your turn.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
All right. Your timer starts because you all are taking
these alternates off the table. I feel like I have
to take the only other remaining alternate off the table, sure,
just to well you guys.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
You guys can't pick them.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
So you have all the power with the So I'm
gonna let.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
You just simmer on that that I don't have to
pick that alternate right now. I will tell you I
am taking the Catwoman alternate. Good luck, I don't have
to take it right this minute, because I bet I
know who you're gonna pick. You probably do, I read
it on my paper. You probably not like that.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
No way, your timer is up. So what's your choice?

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Give me bad Alf like Batman, Give me that half
like Batman. Sorry, thank you.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
You're doing you. I was looking at my time and
I was like, wait a second.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
You're doing it.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
You're doing your job, all right, dj your timer starts now, so.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
Both Batman's are off the table, so I don't need
to rush that.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Yeah, okay, you have all your wait Listen.

Speaker 5 (25:26):
I'm gonna do secondary villain. I'm gonna pick death Stroke,
all right, good choice?

Speaker 2 (25:31):
Alrighty? And then Jason, I will toss it back.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Don't I get toys? All right?

Speaker 5 (25:37):
Sorry?

Speaker 1 (25:38):
First?

Speaker 2 (25:38):
Yeah, thank you. So your new timer starts now.

Speaker 5 (25:41):
Okay, I'm gonna pick my villain, and I'm gonna pick Penguin,
specifically the Colin feral version.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
Nice, no love for classic Batman. I see that on TV.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Alrighty, and now Jason, now it is your turner. I
will toss it back and your timer starts now.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
I am taking Ken want to not be ros Alul
for your villain. For my villain, yes, I think he
was underserved and I think, uh, I think that he
would be a cool villain and I want him in
my movie. So I'm taking Roswell golf the table.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Nice, all right, Ashley, it is your turn.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
So can I I want to pick a category, but
I don't. I can't use an alternate, but I do
like want to pick a bone on this.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (26:23):
Why is only one of the Batman sixty six?

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Is it because it's a TV show? And le Mare Mothers?

Speaker 1 (26:29):
Because that was the only one that's movie.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Yes, it was all specifically from the TV show. I
will tell you, commissioner.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
No, that's fair. I can, I can?

Speaker 2 (26:42):
You want to allow you?

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Can? I leave it to you.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
It's your choice.

Speaker 5 (26:45):
We'll see. Wait, what do you got?

Speaker 3 (26:47):
I'm gonna take Lee Merriweather Catwoman.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
All right, good choice, okay, and then now your new
timer starts. Now for your next choice.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Actually, I'm gonna pay an Alfred and I would like
mister Andy Serkis please.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Damn it's nice.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
Because I think he is amazing and underserved and he
deserves to win an Oscar and I'm going to give
it to him.

Speaker 5 (27:08):
Do it no regrets rewatching and or he's so good,
he's so good?

Speaker 2 (27:13):
All right, Jason, is your turn.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
I'm taking Chris O'donnald Robin is coming to me? All right?
It is who?

Speaker 3 (27:21):
Because I there you do love him?

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Well?

Speaker 2 (27:23):
I I think DJ made the right choice.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
I think the psychkic is the one that you could
kind of get boned on besides the needle drop and
now it was I couldn't make the other three.

Speaker 5 (27:34):
Work, like it was slim pickings.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
We're trying to make the sidekick thing work, but it.

Speaker 5 (27:38):
Was afraid of it. The students are so afraid.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
And I had to reach for birds of prey characters
to like pull this in.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
So did he times to bring up some good casting?

Speaker 2 (27:47):
No, they do, and I do, and I would have
picked one of those for sure, DJ, your turn, your
timer starts now, I'm.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
Going to go with Alfred.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
I'm gonna pick Michael Caine night all right, and then
your new timers. So for your next choice, hey.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
Guys, feel free to explain like why you're making the
picks for these like people like why are you leaning?

Speaker 4 (28:08):
Yeah, so just to give meself some time forget what
my next category is going to be, because yeah, I
like Michael Michagin's the best Alfred. He's the best Alfred.
I agree with Ashley. I think Andy Serkis is fantastic.
I think he's gonna But the best Alfred we've gotten
so far in movies is Michael Kaye Okay, what category.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Uh, I'm gonna start your timer for this new category.

Speaker 5 (28:30):
Thank you. I gotta pick my Batman before I start
picking mom interest.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
I'm gonna go with my bat theme needle Drop, and
I'm gonna pick when my opinion is the second best,
which is the end?

Speaker 5 (28:40):
Is the beginning? Is the end?

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Not?

Speaker 5 (28:42):
It was well used in that Watchman trailer. The only
other song that list, I'll listen to that song.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
I don't know if this will affect your choice, by
the way, because this is specifically the rock version that
was with Batman. Wrong, because there's two versions.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
Of special specially Pumpkins, a.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Slow version that's on the Watchman trailer. This is the
rocket Okay, okay, cool?

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Should we just to make this a little bit more
difficult or might might make it more fun? Is there
something too? Because part of the reason why I wanted
Needle Drop in this is because I wanted to hear
and again, not crazy, but I wanted to be like,
what does over what sequence in your movie? Does this
song play part of the.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
Pitch where you and you can just say it's a
fight scene, it's a love scene, but.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
I want to hear, like, yeah, tone of your movie
that this song starts playing.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
End credits.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Yeah, well, I think it has to I think it
has to be. It can't be in credits because that's
the easy choice to be like credits, to be like
is it the car chase or is it whatever? It's
it's my turn, I believe, Yes, it is your turn, Jase,
since your timer starts now. Okay, Oh, this is pretty difficult.
You know what I'm gonna take. I'm taking Chase Meridian.

(29:52):
I'm taking her off the table because it's Nicole Kinnon.
I just think she's really good. I don't really have
strong feeling. I do have an idea of the movie
I'm chasing, and I'm trying to make most of the
people fit. But we'll see, we'll see if that happens.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
All right, Ashley, your turn. Your timer starts now.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
So I'm gonna pick my villain, and I'm gonna take
the Riddler, specifically the Frank Gorshen version of the Riddler,
because I think I think he's one of the only
Batman sixty six villains who is genuinely scary and could
translate to like a more modern time, and I think
he'll go good with my Lee Merriweather catwoman choice. I
think they'll compliment each other tonally in terms of what

(30:33):
they're doing. And then for my second pick, I think
I'm gonna go ahead and just pick my secondary villain,
just to sort of line up what we're doing there.
And I think just for the gag of how funny
it would be to watch these two be different types
of crazy at each other, I'm going to take Scarecrow
Killian Murphy.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Ay, I love that, all right, Jason, your timer starts now.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
I am taking the villain that probably nobody wants secondary villain.
I'm taking Uma Thurman poison Idy off the table.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
I did almost take her.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Yeah, I just I just think, you know, I don't know.
I think it's gonna be an interesting movie that has Robben. Yeah,
I think it's going to be like that Wow kids from.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
DJ. Your timer starts now.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
I think I'm gonna bite the bullet.

Speaker 4 (31:22):
You guys both choose chose my two top choices for Batman.
I'm going to do Robert Pattinson, who I like. I
just would pick. I think Ben Affleck.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Now Kilmer benf like, were you talking?

Speaker 5 (31:32):
Yeah? I think Ben?

Speaker 4 (31:33):
I actually think Ben Affleck was I don't like those movies.
I think he's actually a really good bite.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
We talked about the Destinate thing he was robbed that movie.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
Was actually was really good in the role. But I
like Robert and I actually think all these choices are
solid mixed up. Unfortunately, I like George Cooen, but maybe
not his Batman. But yeah, I'm gonna pick Robert Pattinson
and then I'm going to jump over to Catwoman, and
I'm going to just pick Zoe Kravitz, all right.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
I mean, if you're getting one, you might as well.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
I'm basically, yeah, basically committed to him making up the
Batman sequel.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
Now what people want it?

Speaker 1 (32:03):
Your first year, second pick or how many?

Speaker 3 (32:05):
That was the second pick?

Speaker 1 (32:06):
My second one? Before you stop my timer? Can I clarification?
Just to double check the categories that I have left
available to me. I think Alfred is still open to me.
They both made their choices. They they both made their
Catwoman choices as well. Yes, okay, cool? And then I
think I haven't picked a Batmobile.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
That's true?

Speaker 1 (32:24):
All right, Yeah, I'm gonna go for Batmobile. Then you
can start my timer now if you wish, use. I
don't know what one of these I'm going for I think,
just based on my movie, I think I'm gonna take
the tumblr all right from Batman again, I'm taking the tank.
I just don't think any of those other fancy cars
are going to work at my movie. So that's why

(32:48):
I'm going to Tumblr.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
Okay, sounds good, Yeah, Ashley, your timer starts now, sure.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
I mean I'll do a Batmobile and I actually really like, wait, sorry,
what did you expeck for the Batmobile?

Speaker 1 (33:04):
I picked the tumbler?

Speaker 3 (33:05):
Okay, right, sorry, you literally just did that. I'm going
to do the Batman eighty nine returns the six seven
and Paula, because I know what that one looks like.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
I want to give I want to give commission Nunia
as a big shout out here, because not only is
he doing an excellent job, but like I keep just
marveling at him that he's the only one he laminated.
We have this sheet, this information seat, he's the only
one that laminated, and so he's over here with a
dry erase marker like keeping track of us, and like
I'm just like really impressed with your smartness here that
I didn't even think to do something like that.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
Shout out to vest Dellacrus for lending me the XPO markers.
I will bring it back.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
On Monday, and I promise, and then I get a
second choice.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Yes, you get your next choice, and I am starting
your timer now.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
I think the only categories I have left to pick
from our bat vehicle and the needle drop and needle
Drop and the secondary.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Bat vehicle sidekick. You didn't pick a side we did?

Speaker 3 (33:58):
Sorry, sorry Sory, Sorry sidekick. I didn't pick a sidekick.
That's right, because I hate all the options in this
category for sidekick. I think I'm going to take Huntress
Mary Elizabeth Winston.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
Nice, sounds good. And then your last choice is the batmobile.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
I got two more, I got one more. Yes, sorry,
it's the needle Drop. That's back to Jason.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
Then, okay, so I my choices right now are between
Alfred and Catwoman. You guys have already made your choices,
so it doesn't really matter.

Speaker 5 (34:29):
Did she pick her needle drup? Oh?

Speaker 1 (34:31):
Did you pick your need drup?

Speaker 2 (34:32):
No?

Speaker 3 (34:32):
I did batmobile and I did sidekick.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
Sorry, okay, sorry, we're at the part.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
Where we've done enough categories now where you're like, wait.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Yes, okay, so I'm gonna take I'm gonna take Michael
Gough as my Alfred.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
He's a great choice. No, no, no, there's been no
bad actor to play out.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
I'm changing my mind. Okay, Alan Napier needs some respect here.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
Napier is coming into my mind against against Bett.

Speaker 5 (35:00):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
Yeah, like that Chris O'Donnell Robins fantastic. Yeah, So that's
my choice.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
All right, DJ, your timer starts now.

Speaker 4 (35:09):
So I'm gonna do Batmobile. I really truly love the
Batman sixty six Badmobile. I actually think of really dope.
But but because at this point I'm pot committed, I'm
going to do the Dodge Charger.

Speaker 5 (35:18):
Which I also really like.

Speaker 1 (35:20):
You lean into a patents and I'm already there, finally
going to see the sequel. Your Batman two will probably
come out before their.

Speaker 4 (35:30):
Truth truthfully, actually, it is kind of shaping up to
what my The Batman two pitch would have been anyway. Yea,
but my love interest, I guess because we didn't have
a secondary love interest in the Batman I'm going to do.
I would have picked Chase Meridian because when I was
a young boy and I saw Nicole Kim in that role,
it awakened things isn't mean.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
What young boy wasn't away?

Speaker 2 (35:49):
I was like, what for sure?

Speaker 5 (35:52):
Yeah, but I'm going to go with this is Kim
Basinger in eighty nine Batman. I'm going to go with
Vicky Bale with the.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
Height every Yeah, yeah, all right, and then I think
that's it for I'm tapped, right, Yeah, I think you're good.

Speaker 5 (36:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
Yeah, this should be all of our final rounds, and
then we can decide if we're going to add our
bonus ones back in.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
I think we could. I think we could too, Yeah,
I think we could if Okay, so my final one
is Catwoman your alternate.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
I'm picking the alternate. I save him for last.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
Unless you're gonna use your alternate for one of the
bonus categories because you're the only one who has enough.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
Grace to do.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
It's a crime lord for a reference for.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
I don't care. I'm gonna use it for this one
because I think this actress should have played Catwoman, and
I think she's stunning and I think she would play
very well off of Ben afflex on.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
Three one two three Ava Green.

Speaker 5 (36:40):
No, it's a good choice.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
Now, No, my Catwoman is Preacher's own.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
Is my Catwoman? That's my alternate choice, Ruth, we have
also talked about that.

Speaker 5 (36:53):
Can I tell you my initial choice?

Speaker 4 (36:54):
My top choice is what I wanted Ben Affleck' Batman
with Michelle Peiffer's Catwoman.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
That would have been good.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
And then you have the needle drop.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
Yeah, so, and then I guess we can go back around.
Uh yeah, we'll forget the new categories. Yes, so I
don't like any of these songs except for the Batman
sixty six theme, so I will happily take them Batman
sixty six.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
If Batman was an MPCU character, we would have retooled
that theme for his theme in the movie.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
Oh yeah, I probably won't get this as my pitch,
but I would take this, and I would have the
lady whose name I can't remember and I do apologize,
who plays the wonder Woman theme on the cello.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
I would have her.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
Retool this in that style.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
For I actually think you could retool that theme and
make it work. I can do it with Spider Man
and them, see you exactly.

Speaker 5 (37:38):
They might do that with the James Gunn if Brave
and Bold, if that ever happens.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
Yeah, they should just do it. They should. Okay, So
we everybody has had the original categories, I believe, Yes, Okay,
so what we're gonna do actually, listeners, it's funny. We
thought this was going to take way longer, but we're
all like super pros and we did this really fast.
We actually knocked out three categories that just for time.

(38:02):
But I think because we've been doing so well, what
we're gonna do is we have three other categories. We're
gonna tell you what the three last categories are, and.

Speaker 3 (38:08):
Then I get the first pick because we're at the
bottom of the draft.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
Yep and Ashley, we'll get the next pick and we'll
go through and we'll pick these others. We'll tell you
what they are. But we're gonna go to a break
real quick, so stay tuned. Also, you do not have
to do this and in the same morning we're doing
but we're gonna go to an ad right now Geeker's lesson.
We are back the Batman Movie draft. We did all
the categories, but what do you know, we have three

(38:31):
extra bonus categories, which is really great. So we cut
these three categories for time, but because we're all superstar Batmans,
we're gonna roll through them. So o stard the night.
Let's just alternate these diego, what is the first bonus category?
And who are the people that we now these bonus
people that we get to add into our movies.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
So we have a Commissioner Gordon category, and that includes
a Neil Hamilton, Pat Hingel, Gary Olman, JK. Simmons, and
Jeffrey Wright.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Okay. And then also we are gonna put a crime lord,
because usually a gangster in a Batman movie. So your
crimeline choices are Carol Grissom, Jack Palance Falcone, Tom Wilkinson
or John Tturo Maroney played by Eric Roberts. Roman scionis
played by Ewan McGregor. And there is no there was
an altern in this category, but we've all used our

(39:17):
alternates so that nobody can alternate this category.

Speaker 5 (39:20):
That's those are solid picks.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
Yeah. And then now this is what we might call
the most toyetic, Yeah, the categories.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
Because every Batman movie has something an extra vehicle, a weird.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
Extra vehicle for some reason, YE sell those toys.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
So we have those bat vehicles, which includes a bat
cycle with a sidecard if you want to go sixty
six or the Batman and Robin version, a bat copter
from the sixty six movie, the bat Boat from sixty
six or Forever, the bat Wing from eighty nine or Forever,
the batpod from The Dark Knight, the bat which is
the Dark Knight helicopter. Yeah, yeah, yeah, the bat Skiff

(39:56):
from Batman and Robin Now the Batskiffs.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
That's the thing that like on the ice against mister Freeze. Yeah.
I think it's like, yeah, okay, very toy.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
Yeah yeah, it is giving very What if this was
a Pierce Bross then James Bond.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
Yeah, the bat ski boat from Batman Return and that's
the thing that he races through the sewers on did
you really have that toy? It wouldn't work, it really,
it wouldn't one. I so deep, okay, and then I
forgot about this last one to the night Crawler from
Justice League, which is that.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
The most useless of a Batman vehicles. It just crawls
up a wall and then falls over. I think it
runs out of battery. So yeah, so we all get
to bat Vehicle, Crime Lord and Commissioner, and we're all
adding to our movies. Uh, Commissioner nuna is, I believe
it's trually, so it'll go Ashley me DJ.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
And then yeah, all right, Ashley, go ahead.

Speaker 3 (40:53):
Okay. If this had been part of our original round,
I would have started with this category because I think
there's exactly one good choice in it. I'm going with
Commissioner Gordon and I'm taking Jeffrey right.

Speaker 5 (41:01):
But I'm already making the Batman too, I will say.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
I will say this as I was writing these up.

Speaker 1 (41:11):
Sorry, that was very funny.

Speaker 5 (41:16):
Missing piece.

Speaker 1 (41:17):
Jeffrey DJ's Day's great, Jeffrey Wright's great.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
I'm here to be compete.

Speaker 5 (41:23):
Yeah, Jeffrey Wright's great.

Speaker 3 (41:25):
No, I love him very much again, And the theme
of my movie is who was underserved and deserves to
have their role fixed? And I'm gonna do that for it.

Speaker 4 (41:33):
I think now that the MCU is considering casting people
in multiple roles. There were two other people I had
ahead of this, Unfortunately both of them passed. I think
Jeffrey Wright could be a good.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Professor X I agree.

Speaker 4 (41:45):
My original points was Lance Raddick r IP. I think
he would have been great, would have been great, But anyway, Yes, agreed.

Speaker 2 (41:51):
All right, Jason, your turn. See it's so funny.

Speaker 1 (41:54):
I thought the obvious one was bat vehicle because I
kind of think Commissioner Gordon's and Crime Lords can just
like be in her changeable in those movies.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
That's why there's the one good one.

Speaker 2 (42:03):
I'm taking that bat Wing.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
Give me that plane, That's what I'm going for. Give
me that, and I'll you know what, I'll take the
Batman for everyone because I think it's slightly cooler.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
I like the extra edges of yeah, and it has
a cool entrance, the way it's hung upside down like
a bat and stuff.

Speaker 1 (42:15):
And it's the only plane that Batman has given a
zoomed clup close thumbs up in absolutely.

Speaker 3 (42:22):
That very famous gift that we all know from Twitter.

Speaker 4 (42:24):
Okay, well, I was going to jump into Commissioner Cord first,
but I'll hold on to that. I'm going to do
Crime Lord. I'm going to do romancionis Ewan McGregor nine.

Speaker 1 (42:35):
We know the Phantom Menace fan is here.

Speaker 5 (42:36):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, And then I am going to do
I love JK.

Speaker 4 (42:44):
Simmons, but I'm going to do Gary Oldman for Commissioner
Cord because he is kind of iconic.

Speaker 2 (42:49):
He is. Yea, damn it, Jason, your return, damn it,
your time starts now. I know, bad pressure.

Speaker 4 (42:59):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
I don't care about any of these so I'll take Falcone.
Tom Wilkinson. I guess he's pretty good. I'll take him.

Speaker 5 (43:09):
I do like how insane Jack pounces and yeah, my one, god.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
Yeah, it's such a it's such a Scott.

Speaker 1 (43:18):
It's such a stupid performance.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
Would actually I would have good.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
I would have picked him.

Speaker 4 (43:22):
But my movie is actually shaping up to be like
a movie, and I'm like, black Mask will be pretty
bitch in my movie.

Speaker 2 (43:27):
Kind of true, my favorite that. But also you gotta
keep in mind too, this is like you're taking him
tice placed and you could like restructure him for your movie.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
That's the fun thing about this is that it's try
to be like how do you take the different tones
and sort of be like, well, this is a coherent movie, right,
Well yeah, Ashley, your turn go.

Speaker 3 (43:47):
I don't care about of these categories, so I don't
remember who most of these crime lords are. So I
was gonna pick John Traturo because he's the one I remember.

Speaker 1 (43:55):
You can't, I know, I can't. He would have been
in DJ's Been a Batman too.

Speaker 5 (43:59):
Yeah, yeah, if we call he did not make it
out of the Batman.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
That's true, or oh you know what, you know the
movie also you know, even though he was in the
TV show, could have been Mark Strong's. Uh oh yeah,
Falcony as well.

Speaker 3 (44:11):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (44:12):
John was he, That's who they he wouldn't come back
for the Penguin TV show when they haven't seen them.
When they did flashbacks, it was Mark Strong, Mark Strong
for everything. Mark Strong is actually way better as Falcony
than John Deturo.

Speaker 3 (44:24):
I thought, Wow, Mark, Mark Strong's a better actor. George
tur is great, but like Mark Tron's better anyway, So
long story long, I think Eric Roberts is a bad
person in real life, so I'm gonna go with Carol Grissom.

Speaker 1 (44:32):
Jack Palance.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
I don't remember what he does or who he is.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
He just talks like.

Speaker 1 (44:38):
He's always he's the Joker's boss.

Speaker 2 (44:41):
He spends most movie.

Speaker 1 (44:43):
Yeah, he's whispering.

Speaker 5 (44:44):
Jason my number one.

Speaker 1 (44:46):
I guess I got to pick a commissioner. Go, she's
gonna get my than so much.

Speaker 3 (44:52):
Number two Joys and I am going to take the
night Crawler please all right?

Speaker 4 (44:59):
Right, I.

Speaker 3 (45:01):
I think it looks cool.

Speaker 1 (45:03):
I have a feeling that when The Batman sixty sixteen
kicks off, that Nightcrawler is crawling on. All right, Jason,
you only have Commson Gordon. Yeah, you have a Commissioner Gordon,
and you got to give me the thirty seconds on
this because I don't want any of these people.

Speaker 2 (45:17):
Okay, and so this is going to be your today.
Do I want?

Speaker 1 (45:21):
Do I want Goofy but Bond he's up here. Do
I want Pat Hinkle? Who usually is the racist Southern
Commissionery movies.

Speaker 3 (45:28):
He's a solidly good actor though he is.

Speaker 1 (45:31):
But I have Ben Affleck Batman, So I'm trying to
think about which.

Speaker 5 (45:34):
Who in Netflix Batman is? JK. Simmons.

Speaker 2 (45:36):
Yeah, but I don't seconds.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
I'm you know what I'm taking Pat, give me Pat,
I'm give me Pat Hinkle. I wanted Gary Oldman, Who's
who I wanted against Ben Affleck. But no, it's all good.
It's all good.

Speaker 5 (45:49):
And when I read Commissioner Gordon, now it.

Speaker 1 (45:51):
Is Garman in he Gary Oldman.

Speaker 2 (45:53):
It's so funny.

Speaker 1 (45:54):
When he was first casting that part, I immediately was like,
why are you casting Dracula as Commissioner Gordon?

Speaker 2 (45:58):
He should be like the joeker, the bad guy.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
And then I saw those movies and I was like, oh, Christopher, yeah, Like.

Speaker 2 (46:09):
What's your big scene to sell the toy.

Speaker 4 (46:11):
Listen, guys, I have Robin, so I'm gonna go with
the bat cycle on the sidecar. That also make up
that I don't have the sixty six Batman.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
I cannot wait to see Robert Pattinson and Brenda.

Speaker 5 (46:23):
But here's the thing that.

Speaker 4 (46:26):
I know. Again, I was gonna go Ben Affleck, but
but I see I can already see it. It's like
the scene in Skyfall where they bring out the old
Bond car, like they broke up and there's the sixty
six one.

Speaker 5 (46:38):
You're like, wait, what news is this one happens?

Speaker 2 (46:40):
It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (46:42):
That's the thing. Like we brought this up when you
did the Batman for Evor Movie Club. That like it's
this weird thing where like somebody once said to me
that if you look at the nineties Batman movies, especially
when they recast about Kilmer, it's like they were trying
to apply the James Bond formula to Batman, where they're
like a different bills.

Speaker 2 (46:58):
Yeah. I actually was like, oh that's solid.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
Like I actually with superhero movies, we're like that now,
you know, And if you like you want to have
a continuity, you can.

Speaker 2 (47:06):
That's all right, All right, so we all picked out
you guys all made your choices. Okay, we went through
all twelve.

Speaker 1 (47:11):
Some of us are already working on our pitches, so
I want to say, okay, so with the pitches again,
all we need is a title and you what we're
gonna do is you're gonna say your title, and then
you're gonna go through all your You're gonna remind us
of your cast list, and then it's going to be
here is your one sentence?

Speaker 2 (47:31):
What is the movie like or whatever?

Speaker 1 (47:33):
Right?

Speaker 2 (47:34):
That must include? Where is what is the scene that
plays the needle drop? Can I add this to please? Actually,
since we've already picked it, see if you guys could
come up with an idea of what you're gonna use
for toyat accents. As the executive, I need to know
how we're gonna sell toys. So if you could come
up with a sequence or an idea of how you're
going to use your extra bat vehicle, I need to
know how we're selling toys.

Speaker 5 (47:56):
You got it?

Speaker 1 (47:56):
Okay? So I think what we will do is we're
gonna we're gonna do a slight pause down and we're
gonna let everybody we're gonna just remind everybody, and we're
gonna give everybody like five minutes. However everybody longs we're
gonna work on our little pitches and then we're gonna
come back and again, just to restate to Ashley and
to DJ, these do not have to be complicated. These

(48:16):
can be the top of the dome. You don't have
to write anything, you know, and also listeners are home
the same thing. It's just like we just want to
get a style of your movie, like what is what?
You don't have to tell us how every person is involved,
Like we don't have to hear like the scene with
the crime lord or whatever, just you know what is
basically your movie? Like what is your movie? But you
do not have to name check every single thing on
your list. Yeah, we'll understand. We can make assumptions about

(48:40):
how it works. Sure, okay, So are the competitors ready
to take a small little break and we'll come up
on these pitches. M M all right, all right, So
we will take a break and we'll be right back.
All right, it's been about ten minutes later. Everybody for
the listeners, they just you know, it was like no
time I passed it all but we're all back, DJ,

(49:03):
Ashley and I have all worked on our Batman pitches. Uh,
and then we also have like a special surprise. Commissioner
Nunia is gonna have a little thing. But first off, okay,
I think we should proceed in draft order. Yeah, makes
most sense, right, Yeah, so we'll go DJ, Jason and
Ashley fantastic. So remember title, Yes, give us your castlests,
just to remind everybody, and then let's hear your pitch.

Speaker 2 (49:25):
It's gonna be fun.

Speaker 4 (49:26):
Okay, So we're so we're starting with title, and then
I give the cast list, and then and then explansion movie. Okay,
I think I'm going to lean into conceptually, So this
doesn't entirely work, but when I was watching The Batman
and my head cannon, it's kind of my The Dark
Knight three. Uh, there's parts of it that don't work,
but it's like the parts of it like you know,
jokers around. It's like that, actually parts of it could

(49:47):
just this could just be a year after The Dark Knight,
and so I'm going to lean into that. And when
we were just talking about Batman being James Bondish, where
elements can kind of just move forward. So I'm calling
it The Batman Dark vic Tree because we love we
love to homage The Long Halloween, but we don't usually
touch on its follow up, which, if I recall correctly,

(50:08):
is where that is a story about the introduction of robins.
It's it's really good, yeah, so so I'm going to
lean into that for this, and my cast is Robert
Pattinson as Batman, Michael Kine picking up some of the
Dark knight Strays. We've got Michael Caine as Alfred, Gary
Oldman is Commissioner Gordon. My sidekick is Brenton Thwaites as

(50:29):
night Wing, and my female lead is Vicky Vale Kim Basinger.
My catwoman is Zoe Kravitz, who I legit think was
fantastic in that movie. My crime lawn is Roman Scientists
as played by McGregor. My villains are Penguin played by
Colin Farrell and death Stroke by Joe Mannganello. My batman

(50:50):
Bile is the Dodge Charger. But they've run rolling around
with that bat cycle from sixty six.

Speaker 1 (50:57):
And are you small enough to by the way, that
bat cycle is at the Peterson Autumn Museum in Los Angeles,
the actual bat cycle.

Speaker 5 (51:04):
It's cool I legit like the vehicles from the sixty
six show. I like the red accent.

Speaker 1 (51:08):
It's cool. I think they're cool.

Speaker 4 (51:11):
And then my thief, my needle drop is the end
is the beginning is the end played by the by
the Smashing Pumpkins which originally aired and Batman and Robin.
So if you all recall at the end of the
Batman the falcone is off the table. There's a crime
vacuum that we saw the Penguin really scrape his way

(51:33):
up to the top and his own show, and we're
going to pick up after the events of that.

Speaker 5 (51:38):
And but Penguin's not.

Speaker 4 (51:40):
Gonna be the only guy trying to film about power vacuum.
Roman Zionist is also in there trying to lay his claim.
But he's also a little interesting in that he's not
He's also likes the whole He's into this whole mask
thing that we're doing.

Speaker 5 (51:51):
It's like, oh, people a running around in costumes. I
can get into this.

Speaker 4 (51:54):
And so we're seeing the beginnings of Batman's his actions
are taking effect. They're kind of seeping into the culture
of Gotham, and we might be seeing the beginnings of.

Speaker 5 (52:05):
More super crime.

Speaker 4 (52:06):
But while Roman Zionists and Penguin Ohs are at odds
not fans of each other. They can agree on one thing.
Batman is messing stuff up for them, and so we're
gonna need we're gonna have to hire an outside contractor
to help with that situation, uh, to get him off
the table. And lucky for them, they live in a
reality where the greatest assassin in the world is on call.

(52:30):
In fact, in fact, I would probably argue to kind
of keep stealing steal from I'm gonna steal from Chris Nolan,
who stole from James Bond where you open with an
opening action sequence and use that. We're gonna open with
Destro closing his previous contract nice, and you're gonna be like,
oh my, oh my god, because if you call in
the Batman, Robert Patinson basically just pounce people into the ground.

(52:53):
He hasn't had to like get into a fight with
somebody on an equal stature.

Speaker 5 (52:57):
So we're gonna open, We're gonna.

Speaker 4 (52:58):
See Joe Mannganello's det and you're gonna be like, how,
oh my god, how are you gonna stop this guy?
It'll be like a full on John Wick, like oh no,
and Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson is going to be seeing the
effects he's having on the city he ended that movie.
He's going to be trying to develop more hope, and
he's going to start exploring like, can I also do

(53:20):
things as Bruce Wayne's, Like can Bruce Wayne actually be
a mechanism for change? Especially since Batman has a target
on his head? So maybe there's gonna be sections of
the movie where it's like, I can't be but almost
glossed over the most important thing that we haven't done
that I think we should do, which is introduce Brentent Pwaits.
He's gonna be night wing here, but we can get

(53:42):
I think it'd be really interesting to see Batman through
the eyes of another person. I think this was really
executed very well in the Brian Azareela lieber Meho comic Joker,
where we saw a choker through the eyes of another person,
and it was both very illuminating but also distancing, like
there's this element of like unknowability, and so I think
that seeing we're going to see trajectory of Bruce goes
on through Dick Grayson's eyes and see them bounce off

(54:06):
of each other and then we're gonna get uh needle
drop is gonna happen at the Iceberg Lounge. They're gonna
go you, We're gonna go into the club and that's
gonna be playing in the overhead, and I legit want
something like Skyfall where they maybe the battle bill has
been blown up and uh, Bruce is like, well I
got this in storage and the garage opens up.

Speaker 5 (54:23):
But it's the classic bat cycle. I was gonna say,
I've always wanted to literally see like he pulls in.

Speaker 4 (54:31):
Oh no, we're gonna pull from I'm honestly gonna suit
from Batman Beyond because everybody gets hung up on the
Oh Dick Rayson's his word, what's the relationship there?

Speaker 5 (54:38):
No do what he did with Terry McGinnis. Dick Grayson.
The excuse is Dick Grayson works for me. He's my driver.

Speaker 4 (54:42):
Yeah, uh, he's an employee of Bruce Wayne. But he's
also running around as night Wing helping him, uh kickt
and he needs the help because Death strokes around, it's
going to be more than a one Batman can handle.

Speaker 2 (54:53):
So no Robin just straight to night Wing kind of thing.

Speaker 4 (54:55):
Well, I wasn't sure if I was allowed I would
if I'm allowed, the are would be go from what
Robin two Night Wing.

Speaker 5 (55:03):
But if I'm not allowed, you can just.

Speaker 3 (55:05):
Drik not because Jason has Robins.

Speaker 4 (55:07):
Yeah yeah, yeah, so we're gonna say, he's gonna say,
we're We're gonna just listen, We'll have a little joke.

Speaker 5 (55:12):
We'll have a joke about yeah.

Speaker 2 (55:16):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (55:17):
I was so enthralled.

Speaker 2 (55:18):
I forgot my position as commissioner making a roll.

Speaker 4 (55:21):
So uh but in a in a perfect world, I'd
love to see a movie where it is a Batman movie,
but it's all through Dick Grayson's eyes as he like
experiences this world and he's technically a main.

Speaker 1 (55:31):
Care I have to ask, so, what's your toy atic moment?

Speaker 4 (55:33):
It's the bat It's someone. They open the garage and
it's like, now we live in a beautiful time where
toys are mostly sold to adults.

Speaker 2 (55:41):
Is that beautiful?

Speaker 4 (55:43):
Because at first I was like, do you sell toys
to the Batmans like they did? McFarland Toys has the
toy line. Yeah, we weren't back great but uh but
but yeah that's gonna be the When they opened that garage,
it's like, now I want sale for McFarland Toys, and
it's and you know, it's gonna be the two versions.
It's gonna be the one that fits their seven inch figures.
But then they're also doing the Superpowers line again, and
there's gonna be a Superpowers version of that Bat sixty

(56:05):
six bat cycle as well.

Speaker 3 (56:06):
And then there's gonna be an SDCC or NYCC exclusive
that's like the two and a half foot version of
it exactly.

Speaker 1 (56:12):
Yeah, it's too big to be.

Speaker 4 (56:13):
Yeah, there's gonna be the Hot Toys one that's like,
do you want to put down a car payment.

Speaker 1 (56:16):
On this toy? And that's like, not really, you can't
put any of the statues a green light?

Speaker 2 (56:21):
This all right, Jay, send you re turn, Okay.

Speaker 1 (56:25):
So I'm gonna start with look out, Look up, look down,
look out. Here comes the biggest bat film ever, Batman Triumphant.
Oh this is bombastic and bold because.

Speaker 3 (56:38):
I can so hear your TV pitching.

Speaker 1 (56:40):
I am sick of boring Batman and I want to
jazz him up a bit, baby, And I'm gonna jazz
them up a little bit by giving you a cast
of Batman as Ben Affleck and Alfred that is Alan
napier A Commissioner Gordon.

Speaker 2 (56:54):
That is Pat Hengele.

Speaker 1 (56:55):
A psidekick that is Chris O'Donnell in the Tim drake
Ish style costume. Female lead is doctor Chase Meridian and
Nicole Kimman. Don't worry about hersh'llly be in a few
scenes Catwoman played by Ruth Naga. Our crime lord will
be Falcony. Tom Wilkinson will have the easiest two hours
on set he's ever had. The villain will be Ken
Wanton Nabe rozoh Ghoul because I'm gonna give him the

(57:17):
do and he's gonna get a big juicy part to play.
My secondary villain will be poison Ivy Uma Thurman to
up my sex appeal. My batmobile will be the Tumbler.
My bat vehicle will be the bat Wing from Batman Forever,
with a little upgrade that I've given to it, and
my bat theme needle drop will be kiss from a Rose.
So Batman Triumphant opens with Ben Affleck, we got an

(57:37):
older Batman here, and to be honest with you, he's
kind of tired of Gotham. He's kind of tired of it.
He knows where all the crime lords are. He's baiting
the Joker a few times. He's just kind of at
this point in his life where he's looking at fifty
and he's saying to himself, is this all there is?

Speaker 2 (57:56):
And Chris O'donald Robin is, of course, like, well, this
is awesome.

Speaker 3 (58:00):
Wrong with you bringing them donus every day and dropping
them on.

Speaker 1 (58:02):
The He's like, oh my god, we get to go
out there and punch all kinds of people.

Speaker 2 (58:06):
Man, this is awesome.

Speaker 1 (58:07):
And Batman's like, I don't know if this is what
I expected from the last twenty years of my life.

Speaker 2 (58:14):
My back hurts.

Speaker 1 (58:16):
Luckily, Alan Napier, you know, gives him the little pep
talk and kicks them up here. But you know, Batman
and Robin are out there and they're fighting crime, and
they're you know, of course fighting Falcone for the second
or third time, and Falconi is now a smuggling goods
through Powers International with a little Batman beyond name drop,
and they realize that wait a minute, these goods from

(58:39):
Powers International coming from this organization called the Leg of Shadows.

Speaker 3 (58:44):
What is this?

Speaker 1 (58:44):
We don't know what this is. We've never heard of
this before, and it leads to this intrigue of Batman.
Finally realizing that there is a worldwide criminal network that
has been affecting everything has been happening in Gotham for
the last twenty years. And so Batman is suddenly in
foos by this because there's a brand new villain out
here and there is a brand new adventure. And Batman

(59:06):
says to himself, I never saw a future. Rye took
Batman to the world because this is my version of
Batman Incorporated. But I don't want to call Batman Incorporated.
I'm gonna call a Batman's Triumphant because that's an old
title that I really like. So Batman crosses the world
to figure out who this League of Shadows. Because of
my version, he doesn't know who Rosalghul is. He's never
met him before. You know, he's heard you know you

(59:27):
can little snippet. So him and Chris O'Donnell start traveling
the world, going to multiple locations, Southeast Asia, Australia. We're
gonna make this the travelogue Batman movie. We're gonna go
to South America where we're gonna go to the rainforest,
and we're gonna get the sex appeal of Uma Thurman
as Poison Ivy. But It's gonna be very interesting because

(59:49):
you know we're gonna lead into a very toyatic moment
that's gonna be in all of the trailers. Imagine top
gun Maverick style plane fights in the rainfores. In the Batwing,
roz Ogul is like, oh crap, he tracked down poison
ivy to South America.

Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
What are we gonna do?

Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
So he sends like six jets after him. Batman's like,
one jet against six?

Speaker 5 (01:00:10):
What do I do?

Speaker 4 (01:00:11):
Uh? Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
Good thing that this Batwing has a secret super stealth
jet underneath it, a red plane called the Red Wing,
And suddenly it drops out of the bottom of the
plane and now we have a double plane fight versus
six very top gun Maverick from an imax. It's gonna
look great. Our story eventually takes us to Paris, where

(01:00:33):
he comes across Ruthnege as Catwoman, and they kind of
run across each other, and this is very much a
catwoman knows it's Bruce Wayne has been all the years,
and even she is like you, what are you doing?

Speaker 2 (01:00:42):
Man?

Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
This is a midlife crisis. Your home is Gotham. Gotham
is what you love. You should be in Gotham. This
is ridiculous. This is billionaire nonsense what you're doing right now.
And he's like, but I'm saving the world, and she's like, no,
you're just screwing around. I'm going back to Gotham. I
just stole that jewel or whatever. I'll be there if

(01:01:04):
you want to be there, if you want to try something,
I'm ready to try something. That's the new thing you
should try. And Batman's like, yeah, I got lots of
ninjas to punch, so like, I'll see you around. And
so eventually it leads to more adventures in various places,
in great locations, eventually getting us to a classic, the
classic sword fight that should be on screen of Neil Adams,

(01:01:24):
where it's shirtless Ben Affleck with the bat cow on
his head and it's shirtless Ken wanton Aby with scimitars
in the silhouette Lawrence of Arabia style fighting the swords.
Ros al Ghoul gets the upper hand on him. Batman's like,
maybe this international adventure was the worst mistake of my
entire life. And suddenly, at the last second, as the
scimitar is coming down, then another scimitar slips in Chris

(01:01:48):
O'Donnell saves and this is why you have a sidekick,
and it's the two It's a two on one fight
Darth mile Mall style, where like suddenly you know, Kenla
and Tom is gonna have two scimitars and.

Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
And but the team up is going to have them win.
And eventually.

Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
Batman, they've defeat rosal Gul. They take the network down,
and Batman says, you know, I think I'm going to
go back to Gotham. I think Gotham is my home.
I think that's really what I need to do. And
Chris O'Donnell, who's kind of contankerous, is like, you know what,
I think this is my purpose. I'm going to stay
out here and I'm going to like make sure that

(01:02:24):
I can take down rosalell Gull's network. But I think
I need a new name. I don't know what that
is yet, but I'll figure it out. And so Bruce goes, Okay,
I'm going to make these little Wayne Enterprises, Wayne International hubs.
He goes from Way Enterprises, the Wayne International is going
to make these little hubs around the world, and you
can run them, you know, but you always have a

(01:02:46):
home in Gotham, Dick, and he goes thanks, and so
they part ways as they go into the sunset, and
our final scene is we see Selena on her balcony
or on inside her apartment with a glass of champagne,
cats all around. She hears it and she turns around

(01:03:08):
her a balcony and there's Batman has kiss from a
rose on. We know what they're gonna do.

Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
He's shirtless, but the cow is still, so we get.

Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
Our little romantic moment, and thus Batman, by learning that
Gotham might just be home, is finally triumphant.

Speaker 3 (01:03:27):
Wow, I'm not gonna run down my cast because I'm
gonna tell you in my pitch.

Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
Oh perfect.

Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
Okay, so my movie is called The Batman Family. Batman
Belcomer and his wife, Catwoman Lee Merriweather, are investigating a
crime spree between a new Gotham villain alliance made up
of the Riddler Frank Gorshen, Scarecrow Killian Murphy, who we
all know is the brains of the operation, and crime
lord Carol Grissom Jack Palance. Meanwhile, in regular regular life,

(01:03:55):
Bruce's old love interest Andrea Beaumont Erica Durantz has reappeared
and is causing Bruce's to wander testing his relationship with Selena.
When they show up to the scene of a crime,
they are met by Commissioner Gordon Jeffrey Wright, who informs
them that they were beat to the punch by a
new superhero named Huntress, Mary Elizabeth Winstead. When back home
and venting to Alfred Andy Serkis, it is accidentally revealed

(01:04:17):
that Huntress is Bruce and Selena's daughter. Alfred helps Selena
spirit her away so she could be raised by a nice,
normal woman, Andrea Beaumont and lead a normal life. But
Helena has discovered her origin, Andrea trained her and they
have returned to Gotham City. Tell Us Tina Goo, you
may remember from the Wonder Woman theme, retools the classic
Batman sixty sixth theme and it plays over the final

(01:04:39):
fight sequence when Batman, Catwoman, and Huntress all join forces
to defeat Ridler, Scarecrow, and Carol Grissom together in the
night Crawler. In the end, they all become the Batman Family.
Mattel produces full size barbies of the Batman family and
a two and a half foot the night Crawler that
they can all sit in. Andrea is the Chase figure,

(01:05:00):
but Nightcrawler I like figure.

Speaker 2 (01:05:03):
I appreciate that.

Speaker 5 (01:05:04):
Am I to understand from the pitch that we end
with this with him in like a frouffle situation, is
that the I'm open to Okay, I kind of love
Bruce would be too.

Speaker 3 (01:05:14):
I kind of love Lena's bisexual.

Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
I kind of love the Malibu Dream night Trawler.

Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:05:21):
Yeah, you kind of turned me around on this.

Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (01:05:27):
Wow, I want to see all these movies, all right,
So everybody, we're gonna have a poll on the Geek
History lesson social media. You want to write it, mind
everybody where they're the.

Speaker 3 (01:05:37):
Reds, Blue Sky, TikTok. It's all at Geek History Less.
So that should go live the day that the drops, uh.
And from there we'll have, like you know, we'll have
DJ's Batman Dark Victory, we'll have my Batman Triumphant, and
we'll have atleast the Batman Family.

Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
I like nice use of the as well, Yeatman.

Speaker 5 (01:05:55):
Yeah, I should say mine is also the Batman Dark Victory.

Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
Oh, the Batman Dark or of a.

Speaker 1 (01:06:01):
I don't want that qualifier on my Batman movie, just
Batman because it's triumphant. Yeah. I always love that title.
So this is again, nobody wins anything, but this is
just for like bragging rights. It's just kind of fun
to see, like what you guys will pick that Batman
movie a draft. Our final thing though, is we know,
you know you might be like you know, film commissioner here,

(01:06:23):
Diego Anthony Nuniaz didn't get to participate, but he also
made his drafts.

Speaker 2 (01:06:27):
I couldn't help it.

Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
And really quickly we're gonna say that if you want
to hear his full draft, you can come over to
patreon dot com slash John on GHL extra episode and
we're going to hear Diego's full Batman movie because he's done.

Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
A great job.

Speaker 1 (01:06:38):
He helped coordinate and write this whole list and helped
me come up with the rules, which were you would
be shocked. We're more complicated than you would have thought. Yeah,
there were a couple of drafts back and forth where
we're like, well, loo in this confuse somebody when you know,
but he did a great job. It's all awesome. Let's
give a little taste here, commissioner, who's your Batman?

Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
I mean he's going to be Ben Affleck.

Speaker 1 (01:07:05):
A lot of beneffic love on this.

Speaker 5 (01:07:07):
You know, well, but he's good.

Speaker 1 (01:07:12):
He was. I still even now would be like, give
me another benefflec Batman. He's still young enough to be like,
you know, let's see it, or.

Speaker 3 (01:07:18):
If you're going, if you're finally going to do Batman Beyond,
which they'll never do, he would be a great candidate
to be. He would be a great candidate and then
he wouldn't have to get buff And let's be honest,
that's what's probably stopping a lot of people.

Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
Yea, but yeah, everybody out there, this was a lot
of fun. I had a lot of fun doing this. Guys,
we did you know. I love that we did the
super jazz version quick version of it. But if you
guys listen to this and you like this, we have
ideas to do this with other movie characters, other movie franchises.

Speaker 3 (01:07:44):
Do you want to geeze out what some of the
the ideas are not promising that we'll do the best idea.

Speaker 1 (01:07:49):
I think we could do another Batman draft by expanding
more characters with even more people.

Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
Especially if we included television shows.

Speaker 1 (01:07:56):
We used the televin shows, and then that would be
the thing where I'd be like, okay, we do include
animated into that, but that's a little we stay. We
wanted to stay live action. We thought about, there's enough
Superman movies to do this with a Superman movie, there's
enough Marvel movies. I'd be like, Okay, what's like, we
could easily do an Avengers yea or or our Marvel
version of a movie.

Speaker 5 (01:08:16):
Yeah, there's also I think a Superman movie around the corner.

Speaker 1 (01:08:19):
I think, yeah, yeah, yeah, so that's probably the one
we're gonna do. So, like you guys, let us know,
you know, we also another one that would be great
for this that we thought about is also Star Trek.
Would be to do a Star Trek movie and be like,
what is your Star Trek movie?

Speaker 5 (01:08:32):
That's a solid one.

Speaker 1 (01:08:34):
So and you know, I think you could also do
this with Star Wars. Like, there's a lot of different
things that we could apply for it. So I hope
it made sense. I hope you enjoyed it. Really quick.

Speaker 2 (01:08:44):
Let's get here, DJ.

Speaker 1 (01:08:47):
Let the listeners you know, if they want to, like,
come give you paychecks for the Batman Dark Victory, the
Batman Colon Dark Victory, the Batman Dash Dark Victory.

Speaker 4 (01:08:55):
I have more of a coin guy than a dash Okay, Okay, yeah,
so I think maybe colling it's holding you know what
it is, It's gonna be one of those where you
see the Batman and then under it started Victory and
so you're like, but if I'm writing it out, what
is it?

Speaker 5 (01:09:06):
Least see how anything you're crazy? Do you have?

Speaker 1 (01:09:08):
Do you have a do you just let the words
be there or do you put a line in between
the two?

Speaker 5 (01:09:12):
You'd have to look.

Speaker 4 (01:09:13):
I think, well, I mean I could look at the
cover of Dark Victory and see how they had it,
because you kind of want to homage that.

Speaker 5 (01:09:18):
I think would be cool.

Speaker 4 (01:09:19):
Okay, yeah, I think nomine, I think no mine, Okay, No,
that would be the where where.

Speaker 2 (01:09:25):
Can our listeners find you?

Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
Man? And all the various projects you're working.

Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
On, you can find me and only stupid answers? If
you want to pick up my comic. You missed the
kickstarter for Dangerboy in the Antagon, It's Never Fear.

I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
Yeah, summer vacations. Nothing in the pipeline for right now.

to announce anything yet. But you can find me on
all the socials, the Instagram, threads, YouTube on Black Crow

Speaker 1 (01:10:05):
The Crow, which was about a year old.

Speaker 2 (01:10:06):
So but but yeah, there are some stuff coming in
the pipeline, hopefully at the end of the year. Nice Ashley.

Speaker 3 (01:10:12):
You could also find Diego Coasting talking Titans to me.

please please and thank you, thank you so much. I
don't know any any final thoughts, everybody what any like?
Last closing remarks on how the movie draft went in
thoughts or commissioner, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:10:44):
I think this went a lot more smoother than I
thought this was going to be.

Speaker 1 (01:10:47):
I thought we thought it was gonna be very disaster.

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
Well, I didn't think it was. I thought it was
gonna be bumpy. I thought there was gonna be a
lot more questions than I was anticipating. But I got
I felt like everybody, it was like everything was pretty
clear and everything went pretty well. Yeah. No, I'm like
for am I on my end too, I was really
like disconcerned how many calls I was going to have
to make. But I guess it all worked out very nicely. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:11:07):
I said this when we paused down at one point.
But this was more fun and less stressful than I thought.
But I think the more people we bring in more stressful.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
It's the game is limitation.

Speaker 1 (01:11:18):
It's going to be longer too, It's going to get
the more people you bring in the longer it's gonna
get as well.

Speaker 4 (01:11:23):
I thought it was interesting that none of us picked
not but not really surprising. None of us picked joker.

Speaker 1 (01:11:28):
Yeah, I don't think anybody picked Christian Bale. No, and
I thought I was going to bail. Yeah, I was.

Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
I was anticipating Val Kilmer because of the Batman Forever
Love Later. I was anticipating Ben Affleck.

Speaker 1 (01:11:38):
Sure Batman was going to be the one that we
were all going to be fighting over, which is interesting.

Speaker 4 (01:11:42):
I also want to point out Barry Keegan's not mentioned
here in the joke, which I actually do understand, but
he technically isn't. Oh yeah, but I do understand that
you want to mend your pitch right now. No, he's
not my favorite joker. I like the gig and I
think he's really talented. I don't think he was the
right cast.

Speaker 2 (01:11:56):
For that, but it was an overside because I could
have been also a real stickler and put Cassandra Cane. Yeah,
because I was right.

Speaker 5 (01:12:04):
I didn't think about it until today, but I was like, oh,
because she was in that movie.

Speaker 3 (01:12:09):
She's not like the Cassandra Kane that any of us.

Speaker 1 (01:12:11):
Yeah, where someone.

Speaker 2 (01:12:12):
Wanted, I'd like go with God, I was. I was
anticipating that as an alternate pick of a backgirl. If
anybody want a Cassandra Kane and I didn't think about
un till today and I was like, oh, there is
technically I would have I would have favored.

Speaker 3 (01:12:25):
I almost picked the Oracle from Titans.

Speaker 5 (01:12:28):
Yeah yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:12:29):
Also, Ashley was in your movie what do you think
Batman built the night in his mind? When he's pitching
to Alfred the Nightcrawler?

Speaker 5 (01:12:36):
What usees he picture?

Speaker 2 (01:12:39):
You?

Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
Absolutely, and you can have a cut scene to this.
The night Crawler is the thing where everybody is like,
why did you build?

Speaker 5 (01:12:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:12:47):
So, yeah, he spent seven billion dollars in this thing.

Speaker 5 (01:12:51):
This is the more money, more money than sense situation.

Speaker 3 (01:12:54):
In the beginning, right, it's covered with like a tarpaulin
or something like that, and then they're like, are you
going to get rid of that? Saying you made us
build it for you, You've never used it, nobody likes it,
and then he needs the whole family.

Speaker 4 (01:13:05):
Yea, I do. I do like that. I do kind
of like that moment where it's used and he looks
at everybody like, see, this is why not crazy, especially
because you're going for the Batman family thing that feels
very data energy.

Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
This is why we needed this is why we needed
the station wagon.

Speaker 3 (01:13:23):
I also think my movie is going to be the
lightest in tone with my Batman Catwoman combo, because even
though Valkilmer does play it very serious, it's still lighter
than like an Affleck style.

Speaker 5 (01:13:34):
It is funny.

Speaker 1 (01:13:34):
I was going to go for Valkilmer as well.

Speaker 4 (01:13:36):
Yeah, my top choice is bet Afleic because I still
think there's there's juice there. But it's like, I do
love Baman for I have a lot of stylgia for
Badman forever. I actually think Falkilmer was good cast.

Speaker 1 (01:13:47):
I think he's the best of those nineties Batmans. I've
said that him so many times. But yeah, yeah, I
just wanted a big momb basting. I was like, I'm
going full on.

Speaker 4 (01:13:54):
But I also think maybe the reason we didn't fight
over Batman is I actually don't know that there is
a there's like a bad.

Speaker 5 (01:14:00):
Other than maybe George Clooney, Like, I don't know there is.

Speaker 2 (01:14:02):
I all just said a tone. It just kind of
depends what idea your movie, because like which Batman you
pick reflected.

Speaker 5 (01:14:07):
That I do like Robert Pattins as Batman, Like you
know what I mean. I think it wasn't my first two.

Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
Picks, but I do like I don't think.

Speaker 3 (01:14:12):
I think it's the same thing with James Bond is
like I don't think there's anyone bad. It's just like
what is your taste or like what are you driving
toward if you have a super clear idea of what
your movie right?

Speaker 4 (01:14:20):
Or also similar to doctor who, Who'd you grow up with?
I think the first Bond it's not the first Bond
I saw in theaters, but the first Bond I saw
in theaters is like a young adult was Daniel Craig's.

Speaker 2 (01:14:30):
So he's my Mond to I wanted to note to
credit to all you guys, is your guys as Batman
movies were all sort of like a broad spectrum of
like not typical gritty Batman movies that we've all been
like no, sure, but I mean at least there was
still like a little bit more flairing creativity, like not
afraid to use a Batman or a Robin rather, you know,

(01:14:51):
like like I.

Speaker 1 (01:14:51):
Said, like I don't know, like I put the catch
phrase of thunderball as my Batman catch phrase. They look up,
looked at that's on the poster for Thunderball.

Speaker 5 (01:14:58):
So yeah, Roger Moore thunderballs, Roger Mormon Connor is Sean Connery.

Speaker 3 (01:15:02):
It's the Underwater one fourth. It's the one that's pretty
good if you cut out all the boring parts, like
Star Trek the motion picture.

Speaker 1 (01:15:08):
If you fast all the water parts is about an
hour of the movie, it's pretty good.

Speaker 5 (01:15:11):
It's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
But otherwise it was just like you can tell that
they were like in nineteen sixty five, they were just like,
we can film underwater.

Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (01:15:20):
If you want a real treat and you've never heard it,
google the Johnny Cash Thunderball Alt theme song that didn't
make it because they don't tell They didn't tell anybody
in that time what the movie was about.

Speaker 1 (01:15:32):
So it's they just gave it a country rock write
a song Johnny Cash bondh Yeah, there is a if
you want to have a Fun Time again. It didn't
mean they make this a James Bond. But like, there
is a YouTube playlist of I think thirty five songs
and they're all the ALT songs that were not Some
of them are better. Radiohead did a did a James
Bond song that they didn't use respector and it's that's why,

(01:15:53):
and they should have used it. They should have used it.

Speaker 4 (01:15:56):
Yeah, I'm a big believer that it should be British musicians.
That's yeah, on theme, But I'm excited. I'm excited for
you guys doing more of these. I think the Star
Trek one, I could see the Captain who gets what Captain?

Speaker 1 (01:16:08):
That one and that one has to be it has
to be all the TV shows they have, It has
to be all the TV shows.

Speaker 3 (01:16:14):
So it again, are we open to like the animated
like because lower dex in play, you know, these are
these are.

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
The questions about.

Speaker 5 (01:16:22):
Yeah, I think that's the thing.

Speaker 4 (01:16:23):
If this had been opened to animated stuff, I think
we're all completely different.

Speaker 5 (01:16:28):
For Kevin Conray.

Speaker 1 (01:16:28):
But it's hard, right because like it's like it's like,
how do you how do you contextualize Mark Hamill's Joker
versus like Ben Affle like Batman?

Speaker 3 (01:16:38):
Like how do you?

Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
Honestly, in that instance, I probably would just separate the
two and do another Batman draft that was animated.

Speaker 5 (01:16:45):
I think there's a lot of animated bat Yeah, there's
a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:16:48):
And it's limitations too, so not everyone's gonna you know,
like Fighter the similar Batman.

Speaker 3 (01:16:53):
But yeah, all right, I guess that'll be the next
Batman draft.

Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
Now, Yeah, I think Diego just figured it out. I
think it's the all the robins and the back rolls
the ways.

Speaker 4 (01:17:06):
Are you doing Kevin Conroy or are you doing Hamish
link Ladder's impression of Kevin Conroy from like That?

Speaker 3 (01:17:12):
Or are you doing Dedrich Bader, who's honestly a pretty.

Speaker 1 (01:17:14):
Good or are you doing Lego Batman will learn its.

Speaker 3 (01:17:17):
Exactly from Under the Red Hood.

Speaker 1 (01:17:19):
There's that list of Batman's is gonna be like twenty
six people?

Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
Yeah, are you doing that guy from Grim? What was Batman?

Speaker 1 (01:17:26):
For a bunch of movies?

Speaker 2 (01:17:27):
That becomes a very weird draft.

Speaker 3 (01:17:30):
That's the one that you want to have like thirty
people for just to fill out your because if not,
it's just going to be us building our individual movies.

Speaker 1 (01:17:36):
Yeah, and fighting over tas Sorry players. Well, I think
we had a pretty good draft. I think it's pretty good.
I hope you listeners out there had a great time
listening to us. Thank you so much for listening to
the first ever. I wanted to say annual, but I
don't can't promise that we're gonna do every year Batman
movie draft play along at home. Thank you so much
for listening. I'm Jason Inman, I'm a Victoria Robinson. We
had the lovely DJ and the lovely diego here and

(01:17:59):
