Anthony Burt has worked in primary, secondary and adult education in the UK, and ran inspiring community youth work, art, music, film and TV projects for neuro-diverse children and those with special needs for 20 years. He’s a teacher and bookseller, and in 2019 he entertained 8000 children in 20 days as host of the Imagination Lab at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Anthony enjoys writing all kinds of children’s stories, usually with a dark but heart-warming and comedic twist. Anthony is an eternally faithful concierge to his cat Watson and lives in Frome, Somerset.

 -lived in lots of places – Scotland, Wales, Devon, city of Bath, both norcal and socal (working in film as locations scout and for FilmLA) and now live in the a small countryside town in Somerset in the UK (for now).

-degree in English and Creative Studies at Portsmouth University

-written for Macmillan, Harpercollins, Nickelodeon, Disney children’s books, the Guardian newspaper and also BBC’s Doctor Who children’s magazine

-grew up reading Stephen King from age 11 and follow a lot of his creative advice, such as put your desk facing the wall not the window!

-I procrastinate waaaaay too much before creating, and am a late-at-night writer (don’t do mornings!)

-one day I WILL move back to California, this is my longterm plan!
