En el episodio de hoy me siento con Marcos Alvarado, quien es artista plástico, diseñador y fundador de Spiritual Vices.
Nacido en Puerto Rico y criado en Dallas, Texas, Marcos ha exhibido su arte en Nueva York, Los Ángeles, Miami, París y recién acaba de terminar su primera residencia artística en Puerto Rico, desde Estudio Arriba Abajo.
Marcos me cuenta cómo comenzó dibujando caricaturas en Juncos, su mudanza a Dallas a los 9 años, los inicios de MBM vendiendo camisetas en la escuela, el desarrollo de su práctica artística como un proceso espiritual y su enfoque en democratizar el arte a través de productos accesibles.
También hablamos sobre las colaboraciones que ha realizado con artistas como Arcángel y Grateful Dead, la importancia de crear con intención y cómo ha aprendido a balancear el crecimiento en redes sociales con la necesidad de desconectarse para reencontrarse creativamente.
