In our monthly Film Buzz, host Nanette Wiser and Mike Hazlett, Green Light Cinema talk about new indie and art films, Cannes & Sundance favorites, film fan clubs and events around town, from the highly anticipated David Lynch biography, Sorry, Baby and Chris Nolan's three Dark Knight Batman movies. There are new clubs, VHS throwback films (Gremlins 2, Piranha, Eraserhead), Webb City Center collaborative movie showings and a new cinematic book club for readers and watchers alike. Presented in collaboration by Book + Bottle and Green Light Cinema, this bi-monthly series invites you to explore iconic (and unexpected) book-to-film adaptations. Your $30 ticket includes a copy of the book (available for pickup at Book + Bottle) and admission to a special screening at Green Light Cinema. After the screening, a moderator will facilitate a thoughtful discussion on the adaptation process. The first book is The Orchid Thief: A True Story of Beauty and Obsession by Susan Orlean followed by the movie adaptation directed by Spike Jonze and starring Nicolas Cage, Meryl Streep, and Chris Cooper.
