The USS Batfish, a decorated World War II submarine credited with sinking three enemy subs in just 76 hours, is now permanently docked in Muskogee, Oklahoma as a museum piece. But visitors say the steel vessel carries more than history within its hull — it carries something darker.
During an October 2016 paranormal investigation under a full moon, a small team joined a local ghost-hunting group to explore the sub. At first, the EVP sessions were quiet. Then, deep in the torpedo compartment, the temperature dropped, the air grew heavy and suffocating, and the ghost box began to spit out a strange guttural voice.
Hoping to clear their heads, the group stepped outside onto the lawn under the bright moonlight. That’s when the ghost box erupted again — this time with haunting screams, the word “fire,” and cries of agony that sounded like echoes of sailors lost in battle.
They’ve never returned to the Batfish — convinced it’s a magnet for dark energy and a graveyard of restless voices.
