This chilling story comes from a massive log cabin in rural America, where a young family moved in while building their permanent home. At first, it seemed like the perfect place—spacious rooms, a pond, and acres of woods. But soon, footsteps echoed in empty hallways, closets whispered with voices, and an unseen presence made sure no one ever felt alone.
For the storyteller, the nightmare began at just five years old. Nights brought footsteps above the bedroom ceiling and the sound of movement in the attic. Parents dismissed it as birds or squirrels, but the children knew better. Then came the first shocking encounter: a young girl in a beige nightgown, her dark bangs framing a face that should not have been there. She giggled, ran down the hall, and later whispered from inside the closet, “They come here.”
