In this episode, Kim and Kara talk to Cheyenne Wilson, the woman behind We Are the Evidence Instagram and author of the newly published "We Are the Evidence - A Handbook for Finding Your Way After Sexual Assault."

They discuss the importance of feeling seen and heard as a survivor and the need for accessible resources. Cheyenne shares her journey of writing and publishing her book, and the control she had in the process. They also break down the impact of sexual assault on sexuality and the importance of normalizing different responses to trauma. The conversation highlights the need for support and belief for survivors, the power of sharing their stories, the challenges of processing trauma, and the different ways individuals cope.

"We Are the Evidence," is a comprehensive resource for all survivors of sexual assault. This handbook contains everything victims, advocates, and supporters need to know to navigate the challenges and confusion in the wake of an assault. Woven together with voices of support from other sexual assault survivors, you’ll also find invaluable guidance from experts, including attorneys, detectives, and therapists.

Cheyenne Wilson BSN, and author of "We Are the Evidence: A Handbook For Finding Your Way after Sexual Assault" is on a mission to raise awareness about the reality of sexual assault, eliminate the stigma associated with being a victim of this violent crime, and make lasting changes in the justice and healthcare systems. Cheyenne earned her Bachelors in Psychology and worked in social services before pursuing a career in nursing.
