His lowest point was that dreadful moment of clarity when he knew he had to stop drinking forever…now he knows that recovery is the new rock and roll.

A British household face and name, Kevin Kennedy has appeared in many popular television series but is probably best known for his iconic portrayal of the “sex symbol” Curly Watts in Coronation Street. His West End credits and broader theatre work spans a wide and dynamic range. Beyond acting, Kevin has enjoyed a notable music career, beginning as the original bass player with the legendary band The Smiths, before forming his own group, Bunch of Thieves.

Nearly 27 years clean and sober, Kevin is a proud and passionate advocate for recovery. His autobiography, The Street to Recovery, tells the powerful story of his journey through fame, addiction, and recovery, inspiring thousands. Kevin is also the Patron and Co-founder of Kennedy Street Recovery, a recovery hub founded by he and his wife Clare, which is dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by addiction. He actively uses his platform to champion recovery.
