SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Blessings, friends
and family, and welcome to our
time together today.
You know, sometimes we look atlife and we think, what's my
place?
What am I supposed to be doing?
And the Bible actually has likea lot to say about that.
Today we're going to look at areally interesting verse from 1
(00:23):
Corinthians 12, verse 28.
It says, And God has placed inthe church, first of all,
apostles, second, prophets, third, teachers, then miracles,
then gifts of healing, thenhelping, then guidance, and then
different kinds of tongues.
Now, at first glance, you mightthink, well, that's just for
(00:46):
like church leaders orsomething.
But, you know, if we really diginto it, it's actually got a lot
of meaning for like all of us.
See, what this verse is reallytelling us is that God, well, he
intentionally places differentkinds of people with different
gifts, different abilities indifferent roles.
It's not like a random thing.
(01:06):
And even though it mentions thechurch, the principle of It
totally applies to like lifeeverywhere.
Think about it.
A team, a family, a community,they all need different
strengths to function reallywell.
Some people are good at leading.
Some are good at teaching.
Some, you know, are justincredibly helpful behind the
scenes.
And some just, they have thisamazing ability to, you know,
(01:30):
bring healing or comfort.
When you start to recognize thatyou have a unique place, a
unique set of gifts, it likechanges everything.
It makes your life betterbecause for one, you stop trying
to be someone you're not.
You know, you embrace your ownstrengths, your own
contributions.
(01:51):
And secondly, it helps youappreciate others because you
realize like you can't do itall.
We actually need each other.
So if you're good at listening.
Maybe your gift is helping.
If you're great at explainingthings, maybe you're a teacher
in your own way.
If you can organize anything, well, hey, that's guidance or
(02:13):
administration.
It's all about finding whatyou're naturally good at, what
you like really enjoy doing, andthen using that to contribute to
the people around you, to yourfamily, your workplace, your
community.
When you live that way, when youact from your strengths and
value the strengths of others, life just like flows better.
(02:35):
There's less friction, more joy,and a real sense of purpose.
Let's pray.
Father God, we thank you forcreating each of us uniquely.
Thank you for placing in usdifferent gifts, different
talents, and differentabilities.
Help us, Lord, to see ourselvesas you see us, to recognize the
(02:59):
special contributions you'veequipped us to make, and help us
also to appreciate, honor, andrespect the gifts in others, so
that together we can build upour communities, ministries, and
bring good to the world aroundus, and moreover, bring glory to
you by fulfilling your plan, your purpose for our lives, for
(03:21):
all the world to see.
Use us in any way you see fit,Lord.
We love you.
We need you.
And we thank you.
And in all this, we ask inJesus' name, amen, amen, and
amen.
