Speaker 1 (00:00):
Scott Vordiez and what if we could be a part
of it, my one true love.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Think of it, Kevin and I we could share with
each other for the rest of our lives and maybe
some day tell our.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
Children about Danica mckeller Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Year
starring in a Cinderella Christmas Ball on Great American Family
that debuts on that network Friday, the twenty ninth at
seven o'clock Central. Danica joins us. Now, Danica, welcome back
to news radio eleven ten kfab.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Thank you for having me.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Absolutely, It's always good to have you on the program. First,
dumb Wonder Year's question, did they end up together? Did
Winnie Cooper and Kevin Arnold end up together?
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Did you watch the last episode? It's been a while,
but uh, okay, well no they didn't. Okay, so we're
trying to rub salt in everyin for your listeners. It
didn't end up together.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
I have a theory. It's possible that, you know. I
think all all you know talks about how we both
got married each other people and how you know, I
went off with the Furbaughn Academy and he had his
had a baby with his wife, and you know, people
get divorced and then find their true loves again, so
you know, maybe it was the second marriage kind of thing.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Crest. If they both ended up on Facebook, they could
have definitely found each other somewhere down the line there.
So I'm going to hold out hope for that. Sorry.
I know that that came out early in the what
mid nineties, the last episode of Wonder Years. I think
I was in prison at that time, but am out now.
Charges were dropped. It's all good. I'm going to serve
in the Trump administration. Everyone's very excited. I we had
(01:35):
Candace Cameron Burray on the show last week and she
said that she's much better in these Great American Family
Christmas movies than you are. Are you going to take
that from her? She did not, Of course she wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
She's too sorry, I don't believe you. Anyway, She's wonderful.
We're friends, and yeah, she and I used to be
a homework and now we're a great American family together
and living our best lives. And you're going to be
at the Wonderful Station. Yeah. The movies are just anybody
can walk in the room at any time, and they're
(02:08):
going to see something good on the screen. They're going
to see something happy and heartwarming. And it's not that
these it's all the characters don't go through things. They do.
They go through trials and relations for sure, but how
they solve their problems is not by going, you know,
using things like selfishness and pettiness to try to They're
being good people. They're good natured and they're they're striving
(02:29):
to solve their problems in good natured kind of ways.
And it's just wonderful, like life affirming programming. You know.
The wonder is was very good natured and wholesome. I
feel like I get to continue that with these movies now.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Yeah, and you and Kandas are going to be together
at the Great American Family Christmas Festival coming up here
in just about a week and a half November twenty
third and twenty fourth Great American Family Christmas Festival dot
com to see and meet Danica mckellor and Candace Cameron Beret.
Great American Family Christmas Festival dot Com. And a few
days after that, A Cinderella Christmas Ball comes out on
(03:05):
the twenty ninth. Tell me about this show?
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah, so my movie, My new Christmas movie is called
a Cinderella Christmas Ball. I've done lots of these movies.
This is the first one that I helped to write.
She'll see my name in the writing credits. There's also
a lot of dance in it, and I was on
Dancing with the Stars ten years ago, so any excuse
to dance, I welcome. The waltzes were actually choreographed by
globes of Chenko, who's a pro and Dancing with the Stars.
(03:31):
And it's a beautiful movie. It's I play a dance
teacher from Chicago who never knew my biological father. My
biological mother died when I was younger, and she didn't
even write his name on their birth certificate, so no
idea who he is. At the beginning of the movie,
I find a picture of my mother in a wedding
dress that I've never seen. She's holding the hand of
a man who was off the screen. Off the picture.
On the back it says Hanshire and then the date
(03:55):
is about nine months before I was born. So I'm like,
oh my gosh, this is my father. It's my first clue.
So this this clue takes me on an adventure to
haven Shire, where I'm in search of my biological father
or maybe some other family members that might be surviving.
While I'm there, I get a job teaching the Prince
of having Shire a very important waltz. He is to
do this waltz at the upcoming Cinderellic Christmas Ball. The
(04:17):
reason it's called that is because at the event he
is to dance with various royal ladies and then choose
his bride. He is not wanting to do that. He's like,
this is archaic. I'm not I'm not ready. But his mother,
the Queen, is in assisting that this is the year, so
it's his duty to do so. The Prince ends up
helping me on my emotional journey to find my family.
I help him on, you know, learning this waltz. And
(04:41):
it's just there's also another storyline with a family as
fostering these two brothers. There's just there's so much good,
happy feeling. People are gonna feel great at the end
of this movie. There's just happy endings all around. And
it's so heartwarming and so uplifting, and it's it's got mysteries, humor, romance,
the dancing aspect of it, and lots of lots of
(05:02):
Christmas people are allowed and the day after Thanksgiving November
twenty ninth, So for some people that's the first acceptable
day is celebrating Christmas. And we are here for you
on today.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Yes, and I agree with that. Do all girls secretly
wish they were orphans trying to find their real families?
Did you feel that way when you were a kid?
Speaker 2 (05:20):
No, that is like one of the statusy's never heard.
I guess if you didn't like your family, you'd be
working for that. No, I did not have that rish No,
but you do dream of putting on the big fancy
dress and dancing like Cinderella did.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
So well, I can't wait, can't wait to see this,
And as you noted, you can watch these shows on
Great American Family, and when the kids walk in the room,
you don't have to go diving for the remote control
to change the channel or put mute or pause or whatever.
They're great family movies and so glad to have you
on the program again to promote a Cinderella Christmas Ball
(05:56):
