Hey, welcome to the Lori deYoung Show podcast. If you missed our
show today, we're sorry about that, but here are some highlights for you.
Be sure to catch it tomorrow everyweekday morning from five till ten,
or on the iHeartRadio app. Today'sBest Country ninety three point one w POC
Baltimore. Now. Top stories atthe top of the hour are the Orioles

(00:21):
rally late to take the win againstthe Red Sox last night. Jackson Holiday
made his debut at second base therelast night. He didn't get a hit,
but he did earn an RBI finalscore was seven to five. People
were talking about Jackson Holiday all dayyesterday. This kid's a big deal.
Every time I turned anything on Internet, TV, whatever, it was like
Jackson Holiday about noon, I thought, this poor guy right with the pressure

(00:43):
on him. Yeah, it waslike a Caitlin Clark moment. It was
wild. I was like, everybody'swatching. People are amped up for this
kid, and rightfully so. He'sgot a great resume already, so we'll
see what he can do here inthe majors. They go for the sweep
tonight up in Boston at seven ten. Former Ravens dar Trell Suggs is facing
charges in Arizona. Did you seethis story? This one's no So.
Suggs was arrested last night in thePhoenix area for one count of assault and

(01:04):
one count of offense against public order. Several Phoenix television stations reports Suggs allegedly
pulled a gun during a road rageincident. He allegedly threatened to kill another
driver and stuck the gun out ofhis car window following a collision in the
drive through of a Starbucks. Likedude, tone down the caffeine and move
on. Suggs was a released fromcustody following an early morning court appearance,

(01:26):
and he's due back in courtly. But there's been a lot of stuff over
the years with Suggs in his temper. The wife, I'm sorry, the
mother of his children, has madea lot of allocations over the years of
the terrible things that he's done toher. So I'm not terribly shocked to
see this news from Terrell Suggs.I For the third day in a row,
a New York appeals court has refusedto delay the former president's criminal hush

(01:47):
money trial. Yesterday, a StateSupreme Court Associate Justice took less than an
hour to issue her rejection of whatwas at least the eleventh time he tried
to delay the case. The formerpresident has pleaded not guilty to making disguise
hush money payments to adult film actressStorming Daniel from his company just before the
twenty sixteen election, as rumors ofan affair between the two started to circulate.
Jerry's lecgend remains set for Monday inManhattan and what would be the first

(02:08):
ever criminal prosecution of a former president. So we'll see how this develops next
week. Now to News up date. We do have those tickets to go
see Sam Hunt. Yes, Samis bringing his tour to town. He'll
be a Jiffy Lube live on Julytwelfth. If you want to go,
give us a call. Colin Umbernine gets the tickets eight hundred and three
two one thirty six ninety three. While you're dialing, we got warre in
Ziders for him. Yeah. Iheard somebody say Zyrs. I'm pretty sure

(02:30):
it's Ziders. I think it's I'mconfident Ziders. Maybe us I e n
Siders. It's Ei. Sometimes thethings we talked about off the air,
I can't I can't control myself.When I turned the vicrophone on Anyway ninety
three point one WBOC, we weretalking to Teresa. Teresa scored the tickets

(02:52):
to go see Sam Hunt down atJiffy Lube Live. That's happening on July
twelfth. If you want to goto that show, I believe tickets are
on sale right now, but youcan also win them with Bob Delmont.
He'll have another opportunity for you atabout twelve oh five. Bethany, you
do the traffic here, so youhave seen this first hand. But it's
badness out there. The traffic situation, and if you're in it right now,
I'm not telling you anything you don'tknow is disgusting. It's bad,

(03:15):
bad, Like people are sitting fortwenty minutes, an hour, two hours.
I got a text message last weekfrom somebody who's commute went from twenty
five minutes to three hours. Ohmy gosh, just because of the bridge
situation and the road closures and theconstruction. So, you know, I
think we needed to get into this. Yeah, how this traffic, this

(03:37):
sort of new traffic, its newworld, is impacting your day. We'll
talk about that in a few minutes. Ninety three point one WPOC Today's Best
Country on the LORI The Young Show, Bethany is here, I'm saying Pierre,
and we're going to talk a littlebit about how traffic has drastically changed,
seemingly in these last couple of weeks. And before we get into that
conversation, I just want to saythis really quick. We know in the

(03:58):
collapse of the Key Bridge, thatwas a loss of life, and we
understand that the lives of those folksfamilies have been changed and altered forever,
and we don't take that lightly. No, don't take that for granted.
We're not making fun of that situationat all. But we also understand that
many of us cannot relate to that, but we can all relate to what's
going on out there right now astraffic patterns have shifted and daily life has

(04:20):
had to adjust to the fact thatthe Key Bridge is no longer there,
and that was a major line ofsupport people that took that bridge. So
I just want people to understand we'renot we're not taking anything for granted as
far as the folks that lost theirlife that we're just talking about the daily
impact that is happening for a lotof other folks now as well. The
falling of the bridge has a rippleeffect on the economy and traffic and for

(04:44):
years too. And that's that's kindof what I'm thinking about when I'm looking
at this traffic board, Like we'renot talking about a situation where it's like
a week or two and it's goingto go back to quote unquote normally.
Right, there's a pothole being fixed. No, it's not a little bit
of road construction, like this isa major like one of the three or
four major routes to get you know, from A to B, and so

(05:06):
a lot of things are being affected, Like people are taking eighty more people
are taking eighty three than they everdid before. More people are taking you
know, the Harbor tunnel than everbefore. So what's that looking like to
you? What's it looking like inyour life? Are you making any changes
because of it? Or I alsowould love to hear from supervisors, like

(05:27):
are you being a little bit morelenient when your people can't get there on
time? You know that kind ofthing, Like I just know that this
has a lot of rippling effects. And forgive my ignorance on this, Bethany,
but you do the traffic every morning. I never really drive at rush
hour because we come in here soearly and then just the way the day
works out, I'm not really inthe car in the busy driving times.
But I'm curious, like, fromyour perspective, looking at the traffic every

(05:49):
day, how much worse is itnow than say two weeks ago, Like
what are these like? There's alwaystraffic around Baltimore, right, I mean
every day there's traffic, So whatis the difference now? I think it's
monumentally monumentally I would say, likeif if you took the Key Bridge,
for instance, and now you're forcedto take another route, you're probably adding

(06:11):
in least an hour to your commute. Yeah. I think some people,
even some people in my circle, have gone from having like I don't know,
forty five minutes commute to like anhour and a half. Like that's
a that's a big chunk of yourday. Yeah, you've got to get
up earlier, you get home later, like you've got kids, like what
So anyway, I just want toknow what's going on. You can text
us seven, seven, nine andsix to begin your message with higher hay.

(06:32):
Of course, if you're driving, please please say use that Bluetooth or
just give us a jingle and wecan chat about it. I just want
to know what's going on in yourlife and how this has impacted you.
Yeah, and and what the plansare like yeah, yeah, exactly.
Do you need to get a newjob? That's the bigger thing. Like
I've told this story on the year. I have a friend who lives on
the north side of where the Keybridgewas, and she would drive across the

(06:55):
bridge to drop her daughter off fordaycare and then drive back over the bridge
to go to work. That's notan option anymore, right, I mean
her entire day went from like youknow, what was the fifteen minute drive
to now like just an hour driveto get around to where she hasked to
drop the I mean, so shecan't use that daycare or what's a complete
life altering situation for them? AndI wonder like, are they thinking we
haven't talked about it? Are theythinking about new jobs? Are they thinking

(07:17):
about new daycare? Like a lotof things are being in You can to
move? Yeah, yeah, youknow, would you move? Yeah,
that's a good question. So yeah, please let us know. Text us
seven seven nine six two. Startyour message with high or hey, or
you can give us a call.Eight hundred and three to two one thirty
six ninety three. There's Kenny Chesney. Let's take her home on the Lurid
Young show them Them's Lucky ninety threepoint one WPOC. We are Today's the

(07:43):
best country on the Laurie to theYoung Show. First of all, I
want to say thank you to everybodythat's been calling with your stories. Uh
there's only one of me answering thephones with here, but like trying to
answer and talk to people. SoI apologize if you waited there and didn't
get the h didn't get your calling. We'll go back into this in a
second. We do have to switchgears to our secret sound in a moment.
I do want to play this one. Caitlin called to tell us about
what's going on with her husband.I hadn't been as effected by it,

(08:05):
but my husband certainly has. He'sactually had to use personal time to leave
early for more the last few weeksof the days that he's in the office,
because if he leaves at four, which is his scheduled time, it
takes him almost two hours to gethome instead of thirty forty minutes. So
oh, so his creative solution isto take take like an hour of personal

(08:28):
time or whatever. Yeah, butbecause he's start earning as much time.
Right exposedly, they may be workingon a solution forum, but they had
his supervisors having about with anything.I mean, I hope they figure out
some kind of solution, because havingto take your own personal time just to
make life work, Yeah, that'sthat's hard. Listen to this text.

(08:48):
I now take a four hour busride to Norfolk to work on the cruise
ships in Baltimore. But now hershift is a six or eight hour shift.
It's it's takes twenty to twenty twohours away from home because she rides
the bus. That's that's wild. That is wild. This person used to
be a thirty minute commute. Nowit's two and a half hours. Gosh,

(09:09):
I mean that you just you can'teven think about, like, yeah,
two and a half hours, that'slike a trip to the shore.
Like right, somebody's just said I'vegot a job in White Marsh right before
the key bridge collapsed. My commutewould be so long now that I had
to turn down the job. Ohgod, that's so it's so hard.
I mean, like we were sayingit. It impacts so many facets of

(09:31):
life with this whole situation, thetrafficking that much worse. It's and I
wish there was a way to saythat it was going to be over soon,
but until a new bridge is built, a lot of this is going
to continue for a long time.Yeah. Yeah, I still haven't heard
from any supervisors that are making anychanges to their to their employees schedules and
stuff. Yeah, I just amcurious. You know, what what are

(09:52):
people doing about it? Like?Yeah, you know, feel free to
continue those texts right now seven seven, nine, six two as the numbers
start your message with the high orhey, we do have to shift gears
into our secret sound here because itis that time. So right now the
phones are going to be dedicated tosecret sound because it's day number five of
our Secret Sound. If you haven'tplayed this game with us before, pretty
simple concept to understand. We playa sound for you, you've got to

(10:13):
figure out what it is. AsI mentioned, it's day five, so
we've got four incorrect guesses so far. We've got a powerwasher, static on
a TV, noise from having yourcar window down like that wind noise,
and then somebody else also guessed staticagain, so it is definitely not static.
We'll just make sure we throw thatout there. You no longer have
to guess that is. But isit static. It's been guessed twice.
It's not correct either time, soit is not static. We do have

(10:37):
a clue for you up on ourx at WPOC day five. Five puzzle
pieces coming together for you. Let'splay the sound and see if you can
figure out what it is. Saylisten closely. Here's Laurie D. Young's
secret sound at seven forty. That'sit all right, And just a reminder,
if you do guess the secret soundcorrectly, you get one hundred dollars
to Conrad's crabs. So give usa call eight hundred and three to two

(10:58):
one thirty six ninety three hard everynow and gets to play the game with
us. Let's have some fun today. Yeah, good night. Here's Thomas
tratted Morgan Wallach ninety three point washw POC. It was always outter than
the Greeks. She used the fry, the chicken smell like Marlboro reds,
and all the boad or from orbiscuits that linking in the driveway Circing nineteen

(11:24):

(13:16):

memo, Kim, This crazy Worldstraight and long down, every town and
a memo. Ninety three point yw p o C. It is time

(13:48):
for the Secret Sound, and Bethanyplease welcome our new best friend Kim to
the show. Hello Kim, goodmorning, How are you goodhead? Kim?
Has your commute changed at all sincethe bridge went down? So I
go kind of the opposite direction.I take ninety five north, but kind

(14:09):
of like that other person. It'smy significant other who's been more affected by
it, where his commute has changed, and so he changes his workoutur sometimes
to kind of avoid limit that traffic. Now, but I get to see
now that back up on ninety fivesouths every day. Yeah, I'm just
going out in the direction. Well, let's see if we can get you
and your partner some some craps.Yeah, give you a well that yeah,

(14:37):
we'll get you some money. We'llget you a night out. That'll
be great. So, Kim,what do you think that secret sound is?
I'm going with car wash. Carwash. I'm so sorry, I'm
sorry, but you know what,we don't let anybody go without something.
So we're gonna get you some scratchoffs in the Maryland State lot. Are
you right all right? Thank you? I kill thank you so much.

(14:58):
Yeah, we appreciate you play andbeing a part of the show today.
Hi, a great day, allright you two? Thanks all right.
So in a couplemans, we didget another call from someone who drives a
tow truck, so we'll hear fromhim, and also we'll talk more about
the text messages you guys are sendingagain. Please feel free to continue communicating
with us. Seven seven ninety sixto two is the text line. Just
starts your message with high or Heylady A. On ninety three point one

(15:28):
w POC Today's Best Country on theLori to Young Show, we've been talking
a little bit about the sort ofnew traffic that we're seeing since the collapse
of the key bridge and how howaltering that can be to everybody's day,
I mean, adding hours upon somepeople's commutes. We got a phone call
from Dale Dale drives a who worksfor a tow truck company as a base
out of Anna Arundel County. Here'swhat he had to say. We used

(15:50):
to keyboards a lot. We transportstuff all the way down from beller All
to walks In and actually all overto State of Maryland. And actually that
night the bridge went down. Wejust came across at about ten thirty that
night. Oh my god. Andby the time we got home, we
got we got the call and weactually turned the news on. Then it
went down. And it's crazy.Yesterday I had to go the spars Point

(16:12):
around four thirty five o'clock, whichwould usually take me about fifteen twenty minutes
to get over there. Told meone up taking me like two hours.
Uh wow, four o'clock. Igot home about seven thirty last night.
See, that's so crazy. Iknow. That's life aulty man. It
takes away your your family time, your personal time. It impacts everything there
absolutely. And one of our driversactually lives over there, so he's gotta

(16:36):
fight that commute every day because we'reweird, like our shops face at a
sepron. So he's gonna fight thatcommute, you know what, I mean,
to work and then all day atwork because we delivered to a lot
of like dealerships all over to Stateof Maryland. And then he's got a
flight to call him back home. We're gonna check in on the text line
here in a second tube. Wealso got a call from Tracy who wanted
to share a little bit and sortof a you know, a message for

(16:56):
all the drivers out there as well. So I haven't done and I take
ninety five South to work in ninetyfive more Tom, It's terrible. But
not only is ninety five South HollibertAvenue and I've awful Wise Avenue to get
to work Hollibert Avenue. For meto get to Dunnock Avenue should take five

(17:18):
minutes, it's now taking twenty.I only imagine. So I hadn't thought
about that until you said. Iwas like, oh my gosh, Hollibert
Avenue must be a nightmare. Itis terrible. We know this situation isn't
going to change for a little while. Have you thought about making any changes
in your own life to try toget some of that time back? No,
I just leave earlier, and youknow, and I know everybody's going

(17:41):
through it, so I know itcan't be helped. But the thing is,
people on the Beltway are cool. They don't want you over. If
they drew night and respectful, itmay not be. It may cut a
couple of minutes off for your tripthere. It is from from Tracy's mouth
to your's just be nice a goodexample. Yeah, And I have gotten

(18:03):
a lot of texts that say, like people are zigzagging, people are trying
to go around like just I feellike I've used this phrase a lot,
but it sucks for everyone. Yeah, so let's just try to get through
it together, try to be gracefulout there. On the other good texts
you've gotten from folks, yeah,I mean a lot of people are saying
that they are using flex time.Yeah, and that their bosses are being

(18:23):
pretty chill. So that's really good. You know, people are saying it
doesn't matter what time I leave,I'm still late. The one girl said
she hasn't been to work on timesince the birch collapse. Oh my gosh.
So I feel I don't know,I feel really my heart's going out
to everybody who's sitting out there inthe traffic right now, like really,
sorry, We'll do our best toentertain you and keep you company, and

(18:44):
yeah, call us anytime even ifyou just need event. I've always felt
very like lucky that this job, even though it's got kind of strange hours,
but I get to avoid rush hourall the time, and I've never
felt more lucky than I do rightnow in this situation. Speaking of we've
been talking about it here all morning. Let's dive into this and see what
the roadways look like right now.Ninety three point one w Aday's Best Country

(19:08):
ninety three point one w POC,Baltimore now top stories at the top of
the hour. All right, wegot some showers and thunder storms coming through
this afternoon and evening ahead of acold front. The biggest concerns will be
strong damaging wind gusts this evening throughthe overnight hours. I will see high
temperature up around seventy degrees today.Showers and thunderstorms linger into tomorrow afternoon before

(19:29):
conditions dry out for the weekend.Friday and Saturday look to be the coolest
days of the weekend. They're goingto be like around sixty sixty five degrees,
But then we get back up intolike summer like tempts for Sunday and
next week. I'm seeing eighty degrees. Are we putting away the winter closed?
Is it later? I don't know. I mean, I don't really
have a lot of winter clothes, but I do think that you might be
okay, okay, Like I waslooking at the low temperatures every day,

(19:52):
just thinking about what I'm gonna haveto be like when I leave the house
in the morning, and I don'tsee them going below like forty five degrees.
So it's pretty manageable, I think. So, I don't know.
Don't quote me on that. Don'tbreak out all the shorts yet. Okay,
you might just want to butt.Oh, shoot, you haven't seen
what I have under here. I'veonly seen above the desk. Yeah,
it's like an iceberg, and youonly see it's above the water. There's
a whole other thing happening. Ibroke out the shorts. I did it.

(20:15):
Good for you, Good for you. Last week, the Army Corps
of Engineers laid out the first timelinefor reopening the Port of Baltimore. At
the time, it was viewed asa very ambitious plan, but the group
says it continues to be realistic.Officials said yesterday they are confidently holding onto
their goals of opening up more accessby the end of April and having the
main channel opened by the end ofMay. At the time of the statement

(20:37):
that came out yesterday, there wasstill a fifteen hundred ton piece of the
bridge blocking where they limited access channelis going to be salvage crews need to
get that out of the way first, obviously, And what we can see
is only part of the story. As we were just kind of joking about
the iceberg effect, right, Like, the wreckage under the water is even
more complicated to get out, andthe weight of the bridge is buried some
parts of it under twenty to thirtyfeet of mud on the river bottoms.
Oh god, dealing with the weightof the rage. Now you're dealing with

(21:00):
underwater and you're dealing with the mudas things have started to sync in and
settle there. So it's just awhole process. Meanwhile, federal federal investigators
are learning more about the ship thatslammed into the Key Bridge last month.
They're still doing their investigations, sowe're not learning a ton of information yet,
but they are and TSB officials saidyesterday they're looking at the ship's engine
room and its circuit breakers. Theyhad previously determined the ship Dolly, was

(21:22):
heading to Sri Lanka from Baltimore whenit lost power and had to support a
beam of the bridge, and that'swhat started the whole thing. So they're
definitely looking at the power aspect ofthe ship into what caused a full total,
you know, breakdown on the ship. So we'll keep you updated as
we find out more. We gotBethany's brief coming up here in a few
minutes. What is on your mind? Okay? Everything from details of Justin

(21:42):
Bieber's new mansion. Okay, whatI'm worried about Justin Bieber by the way,
Oh really, he's so connected toDiddy. There's like a lot of
Justin Bieber ditty stuff. Yeah, which kind of makes me feel weird.
But that's a whole other story.Yeah, that's probably I interrupted you.
Impeaking of Iceberg. That stories Icebergstory. Margot Robbie's got a new movie

(22:03):
I'll tell you about. Oh yeah, I think I'm worried about Margot Robbie.
And uh, I've got some statson America that might like drop drop
your jaw, oh, drop jawdropping statistics. I'm the laurity of Joe
on a Thursday morning. Thanks forhanging out with us. Here's jelly rolling,
Lady Wilson. It's saved me.I keep up in the loop of

(22:29):
entertainment and pop culture and the thingswe shouldn't care about, but somehow we
really do. On ninety three pointone, Yeah, so somebody go get
Margot Robbie because she keeps making moviesabout make beliefs stuff. Okay, so
she made the Marby movie. Yeah, I loved that. It was good.
I don't know. I watched asecond time, though, I backtracked

(22:52):
on my own opinion. Yeah, that's kind of what I mean. I
think there's entertainment there for sure, and I think it was a fun cultural
moment. We enjoyed it, butlike, I don't. I don't think
that's one that we're watching twenty yearsfrom now as like one of the greatest
films yeah history, yep, youknow. And I thought it was when
I saw it in the theater andI saw I'm backtracking on that anyway.
So then last week we reported thatshe's going to make a Sims movie,

(23:14):
okay, which I was like,Okay, it's fine. Yeah, now
that was kind of weird too,but still but still now we got word
that she's going to make a Monopolymovie. I love this and I actually
kind of love the idea. Ithink it really could have legs, so
to speak. I mean, therethere is like a there's a weird story
with Monopoly, right, Like justeven playing the game, you're like walking

(23:37):
around buying stuff left and right offWilly Nelly, who cares Like, I
don't know, it's there's something interestingabout this. There are a lot of
storylines, and sometimes when I'm doingreal estate, I really feel like some
people are playing Monopoly in rehh mygosh, real life. Yeah, so
I feel like this one does havelegs. But I'm like, girl,
but Barbie grossed one point four billiondollars, so she made quite a bit

(23:59):
of money forducing that, and youknow, so I wonder. I just
feel like Barbie has a bigger culturalimpact, Like I know everybody plays Monopoly,
yeah, but like I don't know, Barbie, they made it a
thing. Yeah, Like they dida really good job with the promotion.
Oh okay, that was like theSummer of Barbie carpet at the movie theaters.
Like I think also the fact thatOppenheimer opened upt the same time helped
that. Like I think I thinkthe Barbenheimer madness helped both films. Like

(24:22):
I just I don't know. Thatmight have been lightning in a bottle,
But as long as she and theproduction company go with the same type of
like they could have a Monopoly redcarpet, they could have you know.
True, they got a lot ofreally relevant actors and musical people behind the
movie. Yeah, you know,as long as they do that again,
they'll be all right. I wentto a comedy thing in Philadelphia when I

(24:45):
lived there. This goes back gosh, like seventeen eighteen years now, and
they the comedy troupe, had madetheir own trailer for what they viewed as
what would be the Monopoly movie,Like they went to Atlantic City, they
filmed all this stuff. It wasso ridiculous. And I'm trying to see
if it's still up online because itwas for a while, but I couldn't
even think of like what their whattheir name is it was. But there

(25:06):
was like just the very end itwas so funny where it's like the cops
go to arrest this guy, likethe main character, and they're like you're
going to jail and he's got agun and he's like, no, I'm
just visited. And it was solike brilliant the way they put them.
And I'm like, you know what, ab aun oplic movie, It might
work, It might be good.I work it might be good, and
you know it'll probably be campy likethat. Oh yeah, so it'd have
to be. It'll work, it'llbe good. Melrose Place getting rebooted again.

(25:30):
Not necessary? Okay. Justin Bieber'snew mansion cost sixteen million. Wow,
good for him? Why not?Yeah, if you've got it,
spend it right as well. Yeah. A quarter of Americans would rather do
homework than their taxes. Eleven percentwould rather take the SATs Again. Half

(25:51):
of Americans say that they don't useanything that they learned in school in their
daily lives. I don't believe them. Yeah, you know, I I
don't think it's true. But Ithink about all the things that we had
to sit through in class, andthere's not there's not a lot Like I
did calculus and pre calculus like that. Never, never again am I going
to be figuring out the area undera graph or something. No, there's

(26:15):
never no like this. So thereare a lot of things you kind of
get pushed through. It's like, why why am I doing this? Yeah?
And I thought that eighty one Okay, so eighty one percent say that
they'd be willing to take an adultcrash course to learn how to do things
that they didn't learn in school, like managing personal finances and doing taxes and
blah blah blah. So I thoughtthat was kind of Do you think there

(26:37):
were classes And I've thought about this. There were definitely classes, and there
were times where they did teach usabout personal finance. I just don't think
when you're fifteen years old, yougive a darn about it and you're not
listening. I was thinking that too, because one of the things that I
wish I paid more attention to wasgeography. Yeah, but I think even
if someone had I had a class, But like fifteen, who cares.
I didn't know. I was goingto feel stupid when I didn't know where
Portugal was, you know what Imean? But I do feel over here

(27:00):
right, No, that's South Africa. But even if somebody told me back
then, you should probably pay attentionto this, right, I wouldn't have
listened. Yeah, And plus wehave Google. What do I need that
for? We can Google? That'swhat I got. I have calculators on
my phone. I don't need.Yeah. Remember they used to say,
you're not going to have access toa calculator all the time. I do

(27:21):
every single day of my life.Ninety three point one WPOC trend ninety three
point one WPOC on the LRIDA YoungShow, Saint Pierre here along with Bethany,
and I have to say, asmuch as getting up in the morning
at like three o'clock in the morningcan be taxing and can be hard,

(27:45):
I love being a parent and havingthis schedule because it does allow me to
have time later in the day withmy daughter. And I don't think a
lot of people have that opportunity, you know, the typical nine to five
and your kids are in school,Like I don't. I don't know if
I get to hang out with mykid from like eleven thirty on the rest
of the day. And sure, there are days where I'm like I need
a minute, Like I just needI need a little break, nap time,

(28:08):
turn on the iPad, Daddy needsa few minutes to like chill out.
But I that's time that I'll neverget back, right, Like,
that's time that I It's valuable forboth of you. Yeah, Like I'm
really I'm really glad that I havelike that opportunity. Yeah, I think
there's a lot of people that missthat opportunity. I was reading this article
about Gwen Stefani. Of course, that's Blake Shelton's wife, Like you have

(28:30):
to introduce I know, well maybenow do you still feel compelled to be
like, oh, do you knowwho she is? You know who Gwen
Stefani is. That's Blake Shelton's wife. But before she was Blake Shelton's wife,
she was, in no doubt anda mega pop star. She they
have she has three kids, seventeen, fifteen, and ten, and she
did in this article. My heartfeels so torn for her because I feel

(28:56):
so much pain in this interview becauseshe's like having all these doubts about did
she do the right thing as herkids were little and growing up? She
said, I would I didn't havedinner with my family, and then I
would stay at the studio and Ididn't get a good song written. So
I let my whole family down, and I let my band down, and
I'm like girl gom now. Andthen then she talks about when she had

(29:21):
her first baby, and then shehad her second baby. She felt like
everybody creatively all the people in hercareer were disappointed in her for getting pregnant
again, but she was also liketrying to have a family the same and
I granted, she's a pop star, right, and so a lot of
us feel like we can't relate tothat lifestyle. Like I think this working

(29:42):
mom plight is very relatable for me, especially like you have the kids,
you're supposed to be You're supposed tobe doing all of those mom things with
the kids, but then you alsowant to have a career and you're supposed
to be doing all of these likethe guilt. When I read this R
all I felt was like pressure thatshe's putting on herself and guilt. I

(30:03):
bet if you asked her kids, they would not even care. You know,
they love that mom's a pop star. Probably you know. I don't
know. I just think it's reallyinteresting, but I can see that from
a parent standpoint, like feeling likeyou and like you missed out. Maybe
you weren't. You're not sure ifyou did the right thing. So in
your career, Bethany, like you, you've moved for your career before,

(30:25):
Like this is not your first radiostation, it's not your first city that
you've lived in, so you've howmany times have you moved with the kids?
I think three? Three times wouldbe this last? Like this stop,
this Baltimore. Stay, you movedto Baltimore and what was it twenty
seventy, Yeah, twenty seventeen. And they don't want to leave right till
they're here, until they're done withschool. So which makes sense because your

(30:48):
oldest is about eighteen, so shegot here around eleven years old. Yeah,
so she's kind of gone through heryoung adulthood here, but she's gone
through all of those life changes middleschool, high school, Like that's all
been here. That makes sense. And I felt like when they were little,
you could they were more pliable.Your lifestyle can change a little bit
and it doesn't upset them as longas they have their their core things that

(31:08):
they need, you know, yeahyeah, But as they they become their
own people, then it becomes moredifficult. So I guess if I had
to give Gwen advice on this, like her kids are seventeen, fifteen,
and ten, like it's not toolate to still be their mom, do
you know what I mean? LikeI kind of think, like I mean,
I know she's been doing the voiceand she's had some other things.
I'm not saying she's like sitting athome doing nothing, but like I do,

(31:30):
I do feel like the last fewyears, there's been a lot more
downtime. Yeah, they live likeon a ranch and stuff. They're like,
yeah, she's not. I mean, she's not performing the same level
she used to. She's not doingthe same shows that she used to.
Like Blake is touring, so she'sgoing out with Blake and doing things.
But like, I don't think.I don't think life is the same madness
that it was, you know, fifteen seventeen years ago, when No Doubt

(31:52):
was still a thing and she wasthis global star. Like, you know,
I think it's different. I thinkI don't know. I feel like
there's a lot there's a lot oftime left for her to do whatever she
wants. And all moms who arelistening, like, yeah, you're a
better mom if you also, Iguess, lean into what your own passion

(32:12):
is and lean into what your owncareer is, because you have to fulfill
yourself if you want to kill anyoneelse. I think kids respect it,
Like I mean they might not getit when they're you know, eight or
nine years I might not understand, but I think they I think they respect
it. Yeah, you know,I think they get it. Yeah,
So I don't know. I justthought that was really interesting. I'm sure
there's a lot of working moms listeningright now. Tell me if you have
any guilt or you're feeling any pressure, like a mom guilt. Yeah,

(32:35):
it's like so it is so real. I think about, like I'm not
trying to take the status or astory away from the moms here, but
I think about just when we wereworking from home. I was working from
home until July of twenty twenty one, and my daughter was born in December
of twenty twenty And dads don't usuallyget that much time with the kids either
because like the traditional you know, stereotype of gender stuff as dad's going back

(32:58):
to work, Like a lot ofplaces don't even offer any time off four
dads at all, like paternity leaveis in a thing for But I was
working from home for the first sevenmonths of my daughter's life, Like I
got to spend seven months with her, Like she did the morning show with
us, Like there are people thatare listening that hurt her scream the morning
shows sometimes when she wasn't ready totake a nap, but I had to
go on the air, Like therewere things like that. I was like,

(33:20):
that is that's something that I feltso like frustrated at times, but
so lucky to have and even friendsof mine that her dads were like,
we never you would never get that. Yeah, never got that time with
them. And I know, youknow, it's a it's a very different
experience from male and female in that. But yeah, I mean, I'm
sure there's a lot of parents ingeneral that are just like man. I
feel like I missed some of thatby the decisions that I made. But

(33:43):
yeah, yeah, for sure. You can text us seven seventy nine six
two if you want to join theconversation, or you can always call us
too if you want to. Yeah, you want to hit u up.
Eight hundred and three two one thirtysix ninety three. We're here. We're
hanging out with us. Yeah, there's Parmali. It's take my name ninety
three point one w POC say myhim. Let me make you man man

(34:05):
do wait ninety three point one WPOC. We're going to wrap up our conversation
here about being a parent, havingthis like sort of guilt about leaving your
kids behind a little bit while youwere pursuing a career or trying to make
a better life for them potentially. And we had Emily give us a call

(34:29):
and tell us her story. I'veworked as an EMT since twenty fourteen,
when I got out of high school, so I've never had that Monday through
Friday nine to five. Yeah, and my son was born in April twenty
twenty, and I will both workfor a while because at that time I
worked in a dispatch center. ButI missed his first words. I missed

(34:53):
his first time he pulled up ona table, all those little milestone is
that are so important. I unfortunatelymissed those because of my schedule and trying
to give him a great life.Trying to do something that I'm passionate about
made him proud of me. Andyou know what, I'll say this.

(35:15):
I know he's still very young, but he will be very proud of you.
Yeah, when he grows up andunderstands all about life. You know,
I know that for a fact. But it is it is tough as
a parent to look back on thatand be like, man, I don't
have that video on my phone ofhis first steps or whatever. You know,
he loves going up the firehouse andhanging out in the fire engines and
the ambulances and climbing all over moreas he does. Every kid wants to

(35:38):
do that. That's great. Youknow, hold the birthday party there if
you can, because all the kidsare just going to want to go slide
down the pole or play with youknow. Yeah, that's awesome. Lea's
dive into our nationale. Dude,It's Nashville News Now with St. Pierre
on ninety three point one w POC. All right, the CMT Awards were
less than exciting for viewers this year. It seems. The ratings are out

(36:00):
and the show attracted five point threeeight million viewers and the key demographic.
That's less than last year, nota lot less, but less than last
year. But it wasn't all badnews for him. The awards may have
lost ratings, but it was stillthe top viewed program of the night,
beating out American Idol and other Sundaynight programming. So even though lower viewership,
still top show of the night. So I don't think the CMT Music
Awards are going anywhere anytime soon.A tribute concert and honor of the late

(36:23):
Jimmy Buffett takes place tonight in LosAngeles. The event is called Keep the
Party Going, a Tribute to JimmyBuffett. It's a who's who event.
I mean, we got Paul McCartney, Kenny Chesney, bon Jovi's, Zach
Brown, Eric Church, the Eagles, and so many more. It's happening
at the Hollywood Bowl. And Ireally really hope they're going to film this,
yeah, put this out for something. Sure they will. They got
any famous friends, oh my gosh. And just that the fans, the

(36:45):
parent heads like they would love Imean not everybody's going to get to the
Hollywood Bowl and they would love tosee all this. So I think there
will be some sort of filming orwhatever and we'll get to see that down
the line. Speaking of CMT andtributes, the network has announced a new
tribute special for Toby Keith that speciallywill air tonight at ten on CMT,
immediately following a reairing of last weekendCMT Music Awards, So if you want
to catch that, it's called theSpecial. The specials called CMT Music Award,

(37:07):
celebrates Toby Keith. It's gonna honorhis legacy by revisiting some of his
most unforgettable CMT moments. So we'llsee a lot of that stuff if you
want to catch that later on tonight, at ten. All right, so
we are running late. Let's getinto the traffic here and see what's going
on on the roadways there. Forninety three point one WPOC. We were
talking about what it's like to bea parent and have to make sort of

(37:30):
career decisions and how that might impactyour relationship with your kids or how you
feel the relationship is. And wegot a call from Brian which he kind
of opened our eyes to a differentperspective that we haven't been thinking about.
So I was in the Navy fortwenty years and being on deployment or spending
two and a half years on awell the rest of my family was back
here in the States is not somethingthat I mean, I wish I could

(37:52):
do it over again, but Imean I missed that relationship with my son
as well. That's actually a reallygood observation that I didn't think about.
But like military people, yeah, you do have to go away for really
long periods of time. You saidyou would do it differently if you had
to do it again. I don'tknow. I probably would because then,

(38:13):
like I would be closer to myfamily and only deployed for maybe six months
instead of being away for two anda half years. Yeah, I mean,
if the option was there to changeit up, he's thinking like,
well, maybe I didn't need tobe away for two and a half years.
Maybe I could have taken something closerto home, or taken something shorter.
My wife's dad, I always feellike I say it wrong, was
a marine as a marine, buthe left the Marines after he had my

(38:36):
wife, like after she was born, shortly after she was born. They
were stationed in Hawaii, and hehad joined the Marines right out of high
school. He had put in Ithink almost almost ten years of his life
into it, but had to walkaway. He's like, look, I
don't want to be and we're talkingabout the eighties here. He's like,
I don't want to be sent toSouth America and to be put in the
jungles or whatever was going on atthat time. He was doing like pre
First Gulf War planning, you know, with the with the team and stuff,

(39:00):
and it's like, I don't wantto be taken away from my family,
Like I think it's time for meto walk away. And oh that
really took my family first in this, and you know, the decision changed
their life better, worse, whateveryou want to you know, look at
it. Well, that's the thing, Like these are big, big choices,
like, yeah, we got onthe text. I spent twenty years
in the military, three kids, ten different moves, including multiple deployments away

(39:22):
from home. It made my famefamily very resilient, but I missed a
lot of small things that I regretnow. It's hard to build roots and
traditions in a highly mobile lifestyle.Absolutely, that's that's a good point.
Yeah, it's hard to get likethose core friends and the Yeah, it
takes a village moment, you know, absolutely if you're moving around. Yeah,

(39:43):
career versus family, it's always achoice. Like it's a tough one,
not just for Gwen's devant no orlike we were talking about our careers
too, like radio. But itseems so minuscule when you're talking about military
families, people being deployed for twoyears or moving all around the world to
be in different places. You know, it's it kind of puts things into
perspective for you when you think aboutit. From that, you feel free
to Texas seven seven, nine tosix, do start your message with high

(40:05):
or Hey, you can call usas well. We got Nashville News coming
up here in a couple of minutesas well, So we're going to dive
into that. We got some CMTnews for you. We're gonna talk a
little bit about the awards. Ithappened a couple of days ago. Also
a special coming up later tonight.Today's Best Country ninety three point one w
POC Baltimore Now Top stories at thetop of the hour. The NFL has
announced its first ever game in Brazilon September sixth. The Packers and Eagles

(40:30):
will be heading down to South Paoloto open up their season. I'm not
sure how the reaction is going tobe in Brazil, Like, I don't
know if that's the right market forNFL football, But you know, we'll
see. We'll see. They've obviouslydone tests because they wouldn't invest all the
money if going to send them down, right, so there must be something
going on there. The game isgonna be on a Friday night, and
we'll extreme stream exclusively on Peacock, which will be kind of cool to you

(40:52):
get. Thursday night will be theopener of the season. Then Friday you'll
have the Brazil game. Then Sundayyou'll have games all day, and then
Monday will be Monday foot so it'sall weekend. That weekend. I'm not
mad about it. Bring it on, Like, just don't talk to me
that weekend. I'm busy. You'replanning it already. Yeah. I was
supposed to go to a wedding thatweekend in Mexico, but we cannot pull
it off. But now I'll justbe sitting home watching TV and said.

(41:14):
Speaking of travel, the experts aresaying we could see record breaking travel numbers
this summer. It seems that peopleare ready to get out of their houses.
They say close to five billion peopleare expected to travel around the world,
breaking a previous record and surpassing prepandemic levels. Here in the US
though, they say over ninety percentof Americans say they plan to take a
trip this summer, which seems likea very high number. Ninety percent.
That surprises me. Yeah, that'shuge. I know we are. I

(41:35):
mean, we're my family's finally takingour first like real vacation in like five
or six years. Yeah, andI just got back from a big trip
we've been doing. I guess we'reI guess we're part of the statistics.
Yess we're not wrong. And thefamily of Rachel Moran is launching a new
ad campaign in hopes of finding somenew leads in the search for her killer.
Patty Moore and Rachel's mother, isin the ad asking viewers to contact
law enforcement with any information on thesuspect. If you don't remember this story,

(41:58):
Rachel Moran was found dead along theand Podtrail in bel Air on August
sixth. Police match DNA evidence fromthe scene to an unidentified suspect in a
Los Angeles home invasion that took placea few months prior. But they've been
unable to track this suspect down orreally find any leads at all about this
suspect, so they're really trying tofind them. If you know anything,
please contact police. There is athirty five thousand dollars reward being offered for

(42:19):
this as well, So just somethingto keep in mind if you do know
something and you can help out thefamily and getting some closure here as you
do some date Bethany, what's goingon? We got the brief coming up?
What's happening? Oh? We gota lot of stuff going on on
the brief, okay, Oh,including a Maryland film remake. Oh,
and what did Lenny Kravitz. Whereto the gym? Oh boy, this
could be interesting Lenny Kravitz. He'san interesting character. I like him,

(42:42):
interesting character. I'll tell you whathis Jim outfit. I thought it'd be
good. Here's Cony Johnson. It'still you can't on the LORII to Young
Show. I keep us in aloop of entertainment and pop culture and the
things we shouldn't care about, Butsomehow we really knew brief On ninety three
point one WOC, Japan is gonnagive us more cherry blossom trees. Oh

(43:07):
nice? Did you see that?I think I did. Yeah, two
hundred and fifty more cherry blossom treesare headed our way. Those are to
repair the ones that had to beremoved from the title basin Sea Walls.
I saw the story they were removingthem, and I was like, well,
what what are we gonna do weneed? Are we going to put
something else in there? So I'mglad to see there's a solution. Thank
you, Japan. Yeah, thoseare to honor our two hundred and fiftieth

(43:29):
birthday. Okay, so that's comeit up. Yeah to twenty twenty six.
I hope you're making plans. Isure, Am. The blair Witch
Project is being reimagined, which iscool because it takes place in the Maryland
Woods. So I'm kind of excitedto see what they do. Nineteen ninety
nine, I kind of disagree.Oh really, I'll tell you. I'll
tell you why. Okay. Ienjoyed the first blair Witch movie, and

(43:52):
I love that it was like aMaryland thig and it was a low budget
like thing. But to me,the blair Witch Project film was like one
of the first viral ad campaigns thatwe were about the same age, you
and I. Yeah, you mightremember this. When that came out,
we thought it was real, Likewe thought it was legit. Like there
were I specifically remember, and maybemy brain is off, but I specifically

(44:13):
remember seeing like a Discovery Channel specialabout the blair Witch that was like really
making you feel like this was areal thing, and I get it,
like it was all part of thecampaign, the ad campaign to build up
excitement and it worked because it wasa big box office smash. Yeah,
and people loved it. Ultimately,it wasn't a real thing, but still
I don't I don't think you revivedthat, Like I think that was a

(44:35):
once in time once in moment kindof situation that could be true, you
know what I mean, Like therewas so much about that, particularly,
like the sequels have not done itjustice, and we all know it's not
real now, Like it's not likethat was meant. It was designed to
be a real documentary about these peoplelooking for the Blair Witch, and we
bought it hook line and sinker inthe best way. Yeah, but now
you can't do that. Do youfeel cheated? When I found it it

(44:57):
wasn't real. I felt like, wow, good job, Like congratulations for
fooling all of us. That wasawesome. Well, but now we know,
like it's not I don't know.Yeah, you can't trick anybody now
that's maybe that's just my opinion.Maybe they can. Maybe they can.
We'll see you won't even see itcoming. You will see Lenny Kravitz coming
though. Oh yeah, what ishe doing? Let me google it?
What does he you have to It'sit's on TikTok. He has uh leather

(45:21):
pants and combat boots and he's liftingweight to the gym. Okay, let's
have you ever have you ever hada pair of leather pants on? No?
God, no, it is thehottest, most uncomfortable. Oh my
gosh, I'm looking at this rightnow. Is it video? Yeah,
I mean he's crushing it. Lookat him move. I mean, it's
it's pretty. It's he's he's kindof sexy. Is that Joe Bangelo holding

(45:43):
his legs? It kind of lookslike, so that's happening. Is it
like a fishnet shirt? Is thatwhat we call it? Yeah? But
at least that that seems a littlebit more gem appropriately he is. I
mean he's slayhing it. Good forhim, he's moving better and leather pants
than I move and shorts. I'mjust saying, like when he peels those
things off, it's not going tobe a good job. All right,

(46:04):
I know what you're thinking. IceSpice is going to appear in Spike Lee's
new movie High and Low. Let'stalk about someone in the right place at
the right time, right. Idon't get it. She got she became
friends with Taylor Swift and has builtan entire career out of it. I
do not get it. My kidslike her. I don't understand. Anyway,
She's going to be in a moviewith Denzel Washington. So okay,

(46:27):
great, okay, now, lastbut not least, do you have a
job that people envy. Here arethe five most enviable jobs in the United
States. Number five a vineyard manageror a wine maker. Okay, uh?
Number four luxury real estate agent.Sure, yeah, I mean you're
a re agent. You're sure that'senviable. Number three adventure tour guide.

(46:52):
That's kind of fun. Number twoa chocolateeer. And the number one most
enviable job in the United States wildlifephotographer. Oh, that would be cool.
That can't that's not a real job. That would be so cool,
it would I would do that.I got a text from my friend Craig.
By the way, Craig, thankyou for listening. He was texting
about the Blair Witch. He said, I saw Blair Witch in the theaters

(47:13):
with a group of friends, andwhen it was over, my friend Dylan
said to me, I can't believethat was real. And they caught it
on camera. That's what I'm saying, like when that came out, they
fooled us all and again. Inthe back, I did not feel mad.
I remember being prow that I gotfooled. I don't remember thinking it
was you were a little bit youngerthan I was. Now I'm trying to
think I was probably sixteen or seventeenwhen it came out, so you would
have been like thirteen fourteen, alittle bit different in each group, like

(47:36):
it was all of the hype likewe were. We bought in hook line
and sinker, hook Line and Sinker. I think they're gonna trick you again.
I have to these people. Idon't know. Let's take a look
at the trip ninety three point oneWPOC. We heart Today's Best Country,
and we've got tickets to go seeParker McCollum. He's coming to the theater

(47:57):
at MGM National Harbor on October tenth. Have you've been there before? I
have, and it's a really coolit's a you can make a day of
it. Yeah, National Harbor isawesome. I actually we try to go
down there at least once a year, usually around Christmas time because the National
Harbor, like the Gaylord down there, really pulls all it stops out for
Christmas. But we do try tomake a yearly trip out of there.
I've not been to the MGM NationalHarbor though, I've not seen a show

(48:19):
there yet, but maybe this onefun October tenth. We'll see what happens
it. We got your tickets ifyou want to win these tickets, you
have to answer a question for me. Okay, are you ready? Okay,
I didn't get it right yesterday,so let's see if I can talk.
I don't think you're going to getthis one either. I think this
one actually might be a little bitharder, but we'll see. Okay.
One in four people, so twentyfive percent. One in four people surveyed
say this is the first thing theychange when moving into a new place.

(48:40):
Okay, what is it? Whatis it? Don't say, don't I'm
not going to guess it. Iwon't guess because I don't want you to
give it away. But this isit. One in four people surveyed say
this is the first thing they changewhen moving into a new place. What
is it? Give us a call, let me know what it is.
If you can figure it out,we'll get your tickets to go see Parker
McCall. I have my I'm goingto write down my guess. Yeah,

(49:00):
write it down on your little stickynotes there. See, thank you if
you're right. Yeah, that soundsgreat, all right. One in four
people survey say this is the firstthing they change when moving into a new
place. What is it? Eighthundred and three two one thirty six ninety
three ninety three point one w POCon the Laurie to Young Show Parker McCullough.
Tickets were up for grabs. Allyou had to do was answer a

(49:22):
simple question. One in four peoplesurveyed say this is the first thing they
change when moving into a new place. What is it? A lock?
A lock? It is not alock, but good guess, thank you.
See you were wrong about the next, hi WPOC. What do you
think it is? A carpet?A carpet? It's not the carpet,
thanks to yeah, hi WPOC.One in four people surveys say this is

(49:44):
the first thing they change when movinginto a new place. What do you
think it is? No A goodguess? Guess? Thank you? That's
it. That's it. You gotit. The toilet, see you,
thank you. I gotta be honest, never once in my life moving into
a new place, if I thoughtabout you the toilet, I have done
it, but that's I wouldn't bemy first thought. Right, you've done

(50:05):
that, ma'am. I have notdone that, but I've heard people that
have. Okay, well, congratulations, you got the tickets to go see
Parker McCallum. Yeah, and youmight have heard that little voice in the
background. Jody was her name.Jody was the winner, and her son,

(50:30):
I giving you ninety three point onewu poc. We are Today's best
Country on the Laurie to Young Show, and Bob Delmont has decided to grace
us with his presence. Hello,Well, how's your Thursday. Thursday's good
so far? Yeah, early, yeah, it is. I mean,
anything could happen, you know, yeah, many many could disappoint me.

(50:52):
I could run into a problem.I mean, I think we're gonna get
some rain. I mean there's surething which she'll probably be coming when you're
leaving. Really, I think it'slike afternoon fish. My tax is done
today too. All the way toMills anyway. Everything else is quick.
I mean, the days off toa great start. It's just how it
ends. It's gonna be in question. Traffic is okay, all right,

(51:13):
here's what we're gonna do today. All right, We're gonna build the perfect
grilled cheese. Oh oh, what'sthat face? Yeah? Not a grilled
cheese fan. I'm not either. It's too much cheese. Cheese to me
is a garnish. You know,it goes on the cheeseburger. It's not
the main part of the sandwich.Don't yell at me. I understand.

(51:34):
Grilled cheeses are very, very popular. It's just a personal thing. It's
sometimes you get too much cheese thatchad, I don't know, but melted.
But go ahead. I'm not likea huge fan either, but I
found, okay that if you alterthe grilled cheese a little to your taste
by adding a burger to it.Yeah, I like tomato and spinach,

(51:55):
you know, like something like that. Male. But bacon, Yeah,
bacon's good. Bacon's good. Yeah, yeah, then you can you know.
But Americans eat so many grilled cheesesandwiches every year that they can fill
nine hundred Olympic sized swimming pools.Wow, my gosh, really it's a
lot. The average human, averageperson in America eats thirty six grilled cheese

(52:17):
sandwiches a year. Wow, theaverage No, that's what it says,
I didn't make this up. That'swild. The perfect grilled cheese sandwich,
according to this survey, is twoslices of American cheese on white bread,
medium toasted and cut. If you'recutting it right on the middle, you're

(52:37):
a sociopath. It's going to beeverything has to be done, and then
a sign of like tomato soup.I understand a little. The other day
for dinner, I just told SaintPierre, I made chicken parmesan soup.
Oh, and then I made agrilled cheese to go with it on Hawaiian
rolls. Oh well, that's interestingbecause now you're grilling things that are not

(53:00):
designed to be grilled in that way. That's what I like to do.
I don't know what a Hawaiian rollis. It's sweet. It's bread and
a little dinner roll, like alittle Yeah, you like tear them apart,
like you rip them off the Kingof Kings Hawaiian like all the brand
because that stuff is good. Wasthe Walmart. It's tough out here a

(53:23):
lot, right, So I yeah, I put the grilled cheese on there
a little havardi. Oh wow, you're really stepping It's not that tough.
Out there if you're getting Havardi cheeserelaxed that also is from wal Mart's a
special occasion. Yeah yeah, I'mI'm so sad my daughter doesn't like them.

(53:43):
Like I kind of gave up thedairy thing, but like I'll still
get down with the grilled cheese oncein a while. I thought like having
a child, because kids are supposedto love things like grilled cheeses. Almost
like we can make grilled cheeses togetherand that'll be a great luck. She
hates them, she doesn't like them. There's no interest in peanut butter and
jelly loves it because my kids don'tdo either. What who does like pewater
and jelly? Who raised you?Your parents? Did you try feed them

(54:08):
peanut butter and jili? Growing Itried to and they said no, if
they do it, it's one ofthe uncrustables. Go to peanut butter and
jelly type of like lunch or kidstype of you know what that you know
what? It's like a oh yeah, you know, you just get it.
Keeps the tortillas in the fridge andthen we I just throw some.
I wish I knew about casias whenI was a kid. I didn't.

(54:30):
That was not an option. No, I never got them either. I'm
not like I love to throw awhole bunch of stuff into stuff, right,
So like a regular cheesecasey is notgoing to do it for me.
I got to put everything in there. S. My girled cheese was probably
not that I love. This waslike a boiled hot dog, you know,
yeah, oh yeah, Oh,and you're taking it right to boiled

(54:51):
hot dogs boiled Yeah, I meanI prefer grilled obviously, but my mom
would do the boil thing and thenwe would have hot dogs. Wouldn't she
be too lazy to really make adinner? Oh wow, No, no,
no, I'm joking, it's joking. Mom's the best. Sorry Mom,
she sacrificed a lot anyway. Yeah, but hot dogs boiled hot talks
mac and cheese to go with it. Again, I'm not a mac and

(55:12):
cheese person. I but same. No, I didn't have my first mac
and cheese until at some point incollege. And that again another very popular
thing in my household. Like itwas we just we didn't have that growing
up. It wasn't a thing thatwe ate. We did a lot of
chicken nuggets, like frozen chi you'retalking about. I do love me some
chicken nuggets. I remember, Iremember desperate, desperately wanting to go to

(55:35):
McDonald's and my mom instead making likefrozen chicken nuggets and like frozen French fries
and putting him in a plastic bagand like I remember eating that out of
a plastic bag. Not the samemom driving by McDonald's. Do you tell
the kids, like going to McDonald'sis such a treat from when we were
Like for me, that was abig, big deal. That was my
birthday, like every other day thesedays, Oh it's every other day.

(55:58):
Yeah, the same. I meanobviously depends on you know what kind of
PARTA tell you my chicken nugget story. This is so make this story quick.
But in my hometown there's a Walmart, but there's also a Wendy's in
the parking lot of the Walmart. And we would go home for Christmas,
and I go home to visit myfavorite Christmas. I would get loaded with

(56:19):
a couple of friends I still talkto, and always afterwards it was like,
we gotta go to Wendy's and getsome food before we live, right,
It was so we go to Wendy'sand they were out of nuggets,
and I was so determined. Iwas like, pull up in the front
of Walmart. I'm going in.I'm gonna get some nuggets, my nuggets.
Try to navigate the super Walmart atlike one in the morning, hammered
trying to find nuggets. Down andlet me down, but I still got

(56:43):
my nuggets. I burnt myself tryingto cook them. She cooks it out.
Have been operating enough, and man, that's good. It's a good
story, Bob, thank you somuch for stopping by. You Sam Hunt
tickets today. Go find it.And then he's I know more about his
show than he does. Bitch. You windows rolled down in years, boll
