Speaker 1 (00:00):
The JV Show on Wild 94.9. Can we get a
hot coffee chug?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Hot coffee chug!

Speaker 1 (00:03):
I need a hot coffee chug!

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Oh, mine's too hot. I can't even do it.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
We should probably stagger our chugs. That way someone can
still be talking and so all three people aren't chugging
at the same time.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
We'll work on that. Good idea.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
By the way, we're The JV Show. I'm Selena.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
I'm Graham.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
And I'm Jess. And this is Wild 94.9, The Bay's
number one hit music station. Good morning. Thank you for
waking up with us. First talk back of the day.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Let's do it.

Speaker 4 (00:24):
Good morning, guys.

Speaker 5 (00:25):
It's Angie.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
Hey, I was just driving home and I was just
thinking to myself, I, we have not heard or seen
a picture or anything of good old Bentley boy in
a minute. So I was wondering, can we get like
a wellness update?

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Cause I'm concerned. Selena, where is your dog?

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Oh, all right.

Speaker 6 (00:48):
Uh, I hope he's okay.

Speaker 5 (00:50):
Everybody have a good day.

Speaker 6 (00:51):
Bye.

Speaker 7 (00:52):
Bye.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
I didn't even know.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
I mean, you talk about your dog so little and
you never post about him.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
I forgot. I totally forgotten what his name was.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
I actually don't.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
And, yeah, but can he be marked safe?

Speaker 2 (01:04):
He's safe. Yeah, he's thriving.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Prove it.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Healthy.

Speaker 6 (01:07):
Happy.

Speaker 5 (01:07):
How?

Speaker 1 (01:08):
How old is Bentley boy now?

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Bentley is.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Oh, my God. If you don't know that immediately.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
He's going to be... No, he's going to be seven.
When's his birthday? September 26th. Okay. What color are his eyes?

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Brown.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
What's his sign? Virgo?

Speaker 1 (01:23):
I don't know. She hasn't dated.

Speaker 7 (01:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
What's his favorite treat?

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Anything.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
And where does he live? Like to get scratched the most?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Everywhere. Which ear is bigger?

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Every dog has a favorite spot.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah. Probably his stomach then because he rolls over. She
said probably.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
When's the last time he went for a walk?

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Probably last night. With you. Not with me. Not with me.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Interesting. Yeah. I don't know if Jess is passing the
smell test for you.

Speaker 8 (01:51):
I still have some more questions.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Me too. Try me. Try me.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
I know everything about him. What do you want me
to do? What's his mom's name? Do you want me
to FaceTime him? I don't know his mom's name.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Fine.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Okay, I don't know everything about him, I guess. I
don't know his mom's name. Sorry. You should have said,
I'm his mom.

Speaker 9 (02:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
That was a trick question. I think I failed.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Dang.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Well, there's the Angie. Thank you for that talk back.
I think you got the answer you needed back there.
He might be alive.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
He's alive.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Sure, sure, sure. He's alive, but is he living his
best life? Is he thriving?

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Right.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
He's alive, but is he living? I guess, you know what?
I guess his life probably could be a little better.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Thank you for acknowledging that.

Speaker 9 (02:30):
But I think.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I feel like he's happy because he doesn't know that
his life can be better. You know what I mean? Wow.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Ignorance is bliss sort of situation. Yeah, I think a
little bit.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
He doesn't know that like everything out there in the
world could be so much better and more fun. And
he could have a family that loves him and he
could be out playing in the park each day.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Yeah, we don't take him to the park every day.
But his family does love him.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Sure, sure, sure. Not his mom. You can't even name
his own mom.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Do you know Hambone's mom?

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Yeah, Kate.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
I thought you meant Kate's actual biological mother. Like, who
knows that?

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Kate has raised Hambone, our dog, since she was six
weeks old or less.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
That's her mom.

Speaker 7 (03:10):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Okay. Well, yeah, I failed that trick. I will admit that.
Can we play one more talk back before we move on?

Speaker 5 (03:15):
Sure.

Speaker 9 (03:16):
Good morning, JV show.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
This is David from Dublin.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Throw your visa.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Visa. Yerba Buena Island.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Tunnel the lights look like they're honoring the Valkyries today
they're purple pink It's light purple.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
So throw your bees up, JV Show. Bees up, everybody.
But is that what.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
They're going for? I'll be honest. I was very confused.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
I was very. OK, so. And Jess, you.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Don't see the Bay Bridge lights because you live in
San Mateo.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
If you do not commute across the Bay Bridge into
the city in the dark, you don't see the.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yerba Buena Tunnel lit up.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
And they have this new lighting system where they can
choose all sorts of custom colors and arrangements and stuff
like that. and right before 4th of July, they switched
it to red, white, and blue.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Wow, nice job.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
And then it was red, white, and blue until yesterday,
or I guess until today, because now today, new color scheme,
and it was sort of a purple, maybe a lighter
pinkish-y purple.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
I didn't see it. Am I colorblind? I didn't get
pink at all. I got like a darker purple, a
lighter purple.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Okay, a couple shades of purple, whatever.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Don't hold me to the flame here over whether pink
and purple.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
It's all the same. And then green. And I looked
up this morning. I was like, do the Valkyries have
any green on their uniforms? And I couldn't find any
in their logo or on their uniforms. I couldn't find
any green. So what is it for? Is it just
somebody that's like, this looks cool? Or is it just
for something else?

Speaker 2 (04:40):
My first thought was like Mardi Gras, but then like
we don't do that here. And that passed.

Speaker 8 (04:45):
Wait, the green was with the purple or it switched
from purple to green now?

Speaker 1 (04:49):
No, it's like alternating stripes.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 8 (04:53):
Because at first when you were talking about the or
when when the talkback was talking about the pink or
like light, light purple, I thought maybe it was for
Dolly Parton because I know that there were like some
landmark places that changed their lights. too pink after her passing.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
So I was like, oh, maybe we're honoring.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Unless she likes purple and a lighter purple. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
I was stumped by it. My initial thought was, yeah,
V's up. And then I was like, no, V's down.
The green threw me for a loop there.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
None of this is making sense. Get that guy from
the committee back on the line. I got so many questions.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
The Valkyries, they pounded the sun yesterday, 89 to 64.
Did you guys watch it?

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Yeah, totally.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Women supporting women. Love to see it. And they're taking
on the Liberty tonight.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
So maybe it's, I mean, big win for the Valkyries
yesterday and then another game tonight.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
It could be for that, but why the green?

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Right. That still doesn't explain that. I am so lost.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Leave us a talk back if you know. What thing
has the colors purple, light purple, and green?

Speaker 1 (05:56):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (05:57):
We're going to do some investigating during this next song here.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Someone's going to be like, you idiots. Of course, it's
whatever the thing is. We haven't had enough coffee yet.
Give us a break. The JV Show on Wild 94.9.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
We're the JV Show. I'm Selena.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
I'm Graham.

Speaker 8 (06:09):
And I'm Jess.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
We're trying to figure out why the heck the Bay
Bridge lights on the Yerba Buena Tunnel there. If you
drive or commute in the dark, you see the lights
right there before entering the bridge, at least going westbound.
They have changed from red, white, and blue to green.
purple light purple and green yep um so what i
found and maybe it's this maybe it's not but yesterday
was women's equality day okay and i saw that the

(06:33):
colors are purple green and.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
White okay but there's no white and they have they
have white because we had red white.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
And blue yesterday it was red white and blue and
if it was yesterday and yeah yesterday it was still
red white and blue left over that's.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
The only thing i can think of though maybe.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Jess any theories.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Well, what color do we get if we combine purple
and green? Because maybe that one will tell us something else.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
This is Taylor Swift. Because it's got to be, because remember,
the green. And then she also probably likes the color purple.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Yeah, she does. So, yeah, it's for Taylor Swift.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
It has to mean something. Oh, my God, you're right.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
So stupid. What if it is, though? No, it's not.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Find out why Taylor loves the color purple. I bet
you there's something. In the meantime, guys, it's time for.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
The four things you need a heads up on to
start your day.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Rescue teams back at it in Nepal trying to recover
who and what they can after those catastrophic flash floods
that came sweeping through following a glacier collapse. The numbers,
according to AP News, they say the death toll is
now to at least 353 people. They say more than
1,300 people are missing and unaccounted for.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
I mean, I could, I watched so many videos of
that yesterday. Absolutely horrifying, heartbreaking to watch those videos, but like,
The people, they stood no chance.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
I know.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
That wall of water and debris and mud that came
down that river.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Just overtook the entire city.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
So sad.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
All right, everybody in the Bay Area can officially start
fighting each other because tonight it's Niners Raiders. It is,
of course, just the preseason, so maybe save your arrests
and best punches for when the teams actually play each.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Other this upcoming regular season.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Tonight's game is the third and final game of the
preseason for both these teams, and it's going to be
in Las Vegas.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Kickoff is at 5 o'clock.

Speaker 8 (08:22):
Today will be mostly sunny. Another hot one with highs
in the upper 80s to low 90s. After today, expect
temperatures mainly.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
In the 70s. It's starting to... It's going to start
to feel more like fall.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
You guys.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Oh, really?

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Little by little.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Yesterday was hot. Hey, Aquarius besties.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Your day today is going to be a seven.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
That apology you owe someone and have been rehearsing finally
wants out today.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
The words feel stuck, but Aquarius energy is all about truth.
You have to just own it. Take a breath, say
the thing, and let.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
The relief wash over you.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
It's time to apologize, you stubborn Aquari.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
They're not going to. They are very stubborn.

Speaker 7 (08:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Coming up next here on the JV Show, we're going
to find out why Taylor Swift loves the color purple.
I'm sure there's something there.

Speaker 7 (09:05):
There is.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
There's something to it. Jess is going to share that
with us next.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
The JV Show on Wild 94.9.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
And we've been racking our brains trying to figure out
why all of a sudden the lights on the Bay Bridge,
Yerba Buena Tunnel, are now purple.

Speaker 9 (09:18):
And green. Yep.

Speaker 7 (09:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
What could this mean? Graham, I think you're onto something
like this must be an Easter egg from Taylor Swift.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
I mean, that's I've looked at all the other things
that the Valkyries that was the initial theory, but the
Valkyries have no green on the logo, although they're playing
the Liberty tonight. They have green in their logo. But
why would we be honoring an opposing team? That doesn't
make any sense.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Makes no sense.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
I looked at some other theories.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
I was like maybe it's to honor the tragic situations
going on in Nepal right now. Their flag is red
and white and blue and mostly– mainly red. And so
it's not that. And then I looked up other flags
that were purple.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
And green like that.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
There is one as part of the LGBTQ community. the
gender queer flag, but that's white with green and purple.
So I don't think it's that and that that official day.
for that group was on June 20th. So we passed that.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
I'm out.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
I'm out of ideas.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
I like the Taylor Swift idea because we know green,
that is something that's been popping up all over the
country with like random like TS logos and bright green
and the Empire State Building lit up green. But how
do we explain the purple?

Speaker 8 (10:24):
Guys, I found an article with very crucial information. So
I'm ready to confirm that it is in fact for
Taylor Swift.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
You are officially, you're making an official confirmation.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
I'm making an official confirmation.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
Well, so this is my theory that I just blurted out.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
A minute ago. It's official.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Listen to this. I mean, how can you deny this?

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Okay.

Speaker 8 (10:42):
So there's an article that dates back to July where
they did an oral reading of Taylor Swift and Travis
Kelsey of their aura colors.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
I love it already. This has got to be true.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Listen to this.

Speaker 8 (10:52):
Taylor Swift's aura colors, purple and yellow. Travis Kelsey's aura colors,
purple and blue. What do you get when you combine
blue and yellow?

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Green.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
So it's purple and green. What else do you need?

Speaker 1 (11:07):
What else do you need? Case closed. You're welcome, everybody.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
They're aura colors. What? I want to know my aura color. Yeah,
probably black.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
You guys haven't heard of the CPAP baddies?

Speaker 7 (11:26):
No.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
What the hell is a CPAP baddie? That's not a thing.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
This is a whole movement, Graham. It's a movement aimed
at normalizing... Women who, you know, have to wear a
CPAP machine at nighttime.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
Oh, I figured these were the baddies that have a
partner that has a CPAP machine.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
No, these are.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
The women that have to use the CPAP because they
have sleep apnea or whatever other thing that is causing
them to have. Is she sleep?

Speaker 10 (11:56):
All right.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
So here is a direct quote from one of the
CPAP baddies. She's 31 years old and she suffers from
severe sleep apnea. She says CPAP users are more than
weird old uncles that snore loudly. We're young. We're sexy
and not afraid to say it with our masks on.
And that's baddie behavior.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Try saying it with your mask on.

Speaker 5 (12:18):
But isn't that so true it's like you think like
c-pap you think like i don't know like old.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Man and just like unsexy which i mean my husband
has a c-pap it is very very unsexy but i
feel bad for like the actual like sexy ladies that
have to use it and like There's this stigma surrounding it,
so enter the CPAP baddie movement.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
Okay, but why aren't you sweeping up your man into
this movement? I mean, you just said, like, well, when
he does it, very unsexy. But now you're celebrating the
other baddies out there? Why not make him feel confident
about his CPAP machine?

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Because he doesn't care. It doesn't bother him.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
It bothers you, though, a little bit.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
It doesn't bother me. I mean, in the beginning, I mean,
it felt like I was, like, sleeping in a hospital bed.
There's like all these like cords and things.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Yeah, a lot of like tubes.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Yeah, like all over the place.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Plug in, a lot of noises.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Honestly, he doesn't even use it anymore. And he should.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
He needs to. Yeah, that's dangerous.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
He's like, it's so uncomfortable. And I guess, I mean,
there's a lot of people, according to this article, that
just stop using it because a lot of people, they
can feel claustrophobic with, you know, the mask on.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
Yeah, you're like, I'd rather just stop breathing in my sleep.
That's more comfortable.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
For the first time ever over the weekend, I considered
a sleep divorce.

Speaker 5 (13:40):
Really? Yes.

Speaker 6 (13:41):
Why?

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Because I can't sleep. With the snoring?

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
I couldn't do it. I can't sometimes.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
I would consider a sleep divorce, especially given our hours
and how little sleep we get and how crucial it is.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
I don't think I could.

Speaker 8 (13:56):
So his snoring is way louder than when he puts
on the CPAP machine because he doesn't really snore with
the CPAP machine?

Speaker 2 (14:01):
When he puts on the CPAP, I don't hear anything.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
I don't know if he's not snoring or if the
mask is just masking the sound.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
I don't know what's going on. I think it's probably
eliminating the snoring. He's probably breathing normally. I get great sleep.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
And doesn't he wake up feeling like he got a
better night's sleep when he wears it?

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Yeah, but he just feels like it's so uncomfortable.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
And so unsexy.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
They have to.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
Maybe.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
I can't believe they haven't created something sexier, I guess.
Maybe they will for the baddies.

Speaker 5 (14:29):
Right.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
The baddies, they want one. The demand is there.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Selena, rather than a sleep divorce, why won't you have
a CPAP intervention? Like, look, you have to wear it. Otherwise,
I'm going to sleep divorce you. That's your ultimatum.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Maybe I'll do that.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
I asked him, I was like, can you just go
to the guest room just for tonight? And he said no.
And I was like, okay. I was like, okay. He's
in the discussion. He's not going.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Try the sleep divorce. He said no.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
It didn't work. Denied.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Request denied. Sorry. The JV Show on Wild 94.9.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Wild 94.9, we're the Bay's number one hit music station,
the JV Show. I'm Selena.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
I'm Graham. And I'm Jess.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
We have your chance to win a $ 100 smart and
final gift card. That is on standby. Hi, I'm Selena.

Speaker 11 (15:11):
I was listening to you guys' segment about the CPAC
for your husbands. I would check with the doctor, see
if they got a different version or a more comfortable tube.
My wife wears a CPAC, and the other one, she
had it so bad and so annoying because it would
just fall off her nose or whatever. And then it
used to be really loud, but now she has a
new one and it works better. So, I don't know,

(15:33):
just try to look into it.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
It's a good idea, I think.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Wait, your wife is a CPAP baddie?

Speaker 3 (15:38):
She's a CPAP baddie. And he said she has, like,
a much sportier, like, sexier version.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
So maybe you need to get that one for your husband.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Maybe, like, put some little stickers on, a little Wild
94.9 sticker on it or something.

Speaker 8 (15:49):
Wait, I'm seeing that there's something called a micro CPAP device.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
And it's just a tiny little thing that goes on
their nose.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Yeah, Fred, there have been some major innovations in the
CPAP game.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
I guess not. I don't know if this works properly.
He's had two different versions from the doctor and he
hates both of them. I don't know, but I love
the CPAP baddies movement here.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Yeah, me too. I hope it, like, makes its way
into some music videos, like a Cardi B music video
or something.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Yes, oh my god, that's when you know you made it, yeah. Alright, Graham,
what do you have?

Speaker 3 (16:20):
Alright, some pretty eye-opening new research was published this week
regarding CTE in the brains of former NFL players.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
How is this new?

Speaker 1 (16:31):
It's new research.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
The researchers in this study set out to determine what
percentage of NFL players end up getting CTE. And they
found that that number was at least 25%.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
But they theorize it's likely much higher.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
The problem with CTE is that it can't currently be
diagnosed in living patients. And All the research was very
skewed heavily towards, oh, everybody that played in the NFL
got CTE because all the brains that they were studying
were donated from former NFL players. And many of their
families suspected that they had CTE and wanted to know
based on the things they were going through later in life,

(17:05):
all the different mental problems they were having. And so
everyone's like, well, we aren't examining the brains of other players, right,
that passed away. We don't know if they had it
or not. So everything was kind of skewed heavily one way. Well,
these researchers looked at every... Basically, they said, okay, here
are all the brains donated. And these are the ones
that we all studied and determined that had CTE. And

(17:28):
here is the larger pool of all the players, anybody
that ever played an NFL game that died between those
same years. And so then they could just look at
just the statistics and the numbers. And they think it's
obviously much higher, but they.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Because.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Obviously, all those other brains weren't tested. But if you
just look at just the raw data of the people
that played in the NFL during the same timeframe that
all these brains from people that tested positive for CTE
were donated, we're at 25%.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Dang. Which is crazy. One in four.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
That is so scary.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
Now, the number could be obviously way higher than that
because of all those brains that were donated from families like, hey,
did my loved one have CTE that played in the NFL?

Speaker 7 (18:07):
No.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
93% of those brains came back. Yes.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
So that's where we're thinking that the number is probably
obviously much higher, but at 25%.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
So one in four, I.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Guess my question to.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Parents, are we still letting our kids play football?

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Cause if you, let's just say, you know, weird analogy,
but let's just say riding a bike. If one in
four kids that were allowed to ride a bike developed
later in life, a debilitating.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Brain injury, would you give your kids a bike? I
think the answer would be no.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
I think it would be no.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
Now, obviously, that's not fully analogous because playing in the
NFL means you've played a lot of football in your life,
a ton of football in your life at a very
highly competitive level with guys that are hitting way stronger
and faster and harder than they do at the elementary
school and peewee and all the lower levels of football. But,

(18:58):
I mean, a lot of guys start playing football as
a kid with the hopes of making.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
It to the NFL. I know.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Does this scare you, Selena? It scares me because I
have a son. He is five years old. He's too
young to play right now. But I think next year,
he will be old enough to play. And my fear
is that my husband is going to want him to play.
For me, like, no, we're fine. Like, we don't need
it if it were up to me. But he, because
he grew up playing football, you know, all the way

(19:27):
through high school. And so for him, it's like one
of those things where it's like.

Speaker 12 (19:31):
You know.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
That's my son. He's got to play. And so I'm
hoping that, and I've probably said this before, I'm hoping
that my son will just be really bad at it.
And like, you know, when he gets older, that they just,
they'll bench him for the most part. Because I don't
need my son out here getting hurt. He's also, he
he also he's really he how do I put this?
He's sensitive. So I don't think he would enjoy it. Yeah,

(19:55):
that little guy seems too sweet to be out there
trying to tackle him. I haven't been here to introduce
him to golf. Yeah, I'm like, what's wrong with volleyball? Like,
there's so many other sports. But just based off how
I've seen my husband be with his oldest son, he, like, really,
really wants, you know, his sons to play football. And

(20:16):
not even so much for, like, you're going to get
out there and you're going to tackle people. But he's like,
even if you're not, like, the best player or playing
at all. He's like, these are friends that you're going
to make for life. And you learn so many skills
and discipline. So there's all these other things that you're learning.
So that's, that's where he's coming from.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
I'm, I mean, I'm fully in alignment there. Organized sports,
I think is something that everybody should do for those,
for those reasons.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
It teaches you a lot of life lessons.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
You make a lot of important, you know, friendships and
bonds and it's teamwork and team building. And there's all the,
so many incredible benefits to playing organized sports.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
I just, if my kid wanted to play, I'd be like, nope.
And I know there's a lot of dads like, Graham,
you're a wuss. But that's just me. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
The research that just keeps coming back just makes it
worse and worse and worse.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Yeah. It's just not worth.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Head injuries are bad.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Yeah, it's not worth, I mean, injuring your child's brain
to me. And I get it. I get the parents
that want that. But Graham, if... If it was guaranteed
your son would make it to the NFL, be rich
as hell, take care of you, your wife and the family,
would you feel differently?

Speaker 9 (21:23):
No.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
In a hypothetical situation?

Speaker 3 (21:25):
No, because I think if you look at a lot
of these guys and you ask them later in life,
you know, as they start going through debilitating, awful stuff
in their 40s, you know, and you think about how
long people are going to live and their lives are
getting cut short.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
I don't know that they would say, yep, I'd do
it all over again. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
I mean, we just saw Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans running back.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
He's got ALS now, right?

Speaker 3 (21:53):
And there's a much higher incidence of that disease amongst
former NFL players.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
And he can't even talk anymore. His progressed so rapidly.
And he might be 40. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
Maybe he's 40 years old. And he has to look
at words on a screen and have it. the computer
voice say stuff for him. It happened that quickly. Like
he's somebody that stayed in incredibly good shape and is
young and healthy and he can't function.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
We had heard too from Jason Kelsey.

Speaker 8 (22:22):
I remember him saying like he wanted to retire with
basically enough strength in his body still to be able
to play and run around with his kids. And he
was getting to a point where even something like that
was tough for him.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
And he's not even 40 years old.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
I mean, there's plenty of guys.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
I thought he was like pushing 50.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
There's plenty of guys. He does look older. There's plenty
of guys that.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Walked away from lucrative NFL careers that could have played
for a lot more years and made a lot more money.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
How come whenever we're talking CTE, why is our first
thought NFL players? Like how come we don't have this
conversation about like boxing? Do you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Like, I guess it's one of those things.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
I'm sure it's prevalent there too.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
Oh, totally.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
And I guess it's one of those things that it's like,
you just know getting punched in your brain, you know,
getting punched in the head and it's going to scramble
your brain. Like, I think we just like, those are
more known. Like, you know, if you're an MMA.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Fighter, you're running the risk of like all sorts of
stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
I think it's just more like, but what did you
think more so than football?

Speaker 9 (23:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
But I, again, I think it's just cause it's like,
we know that you're getting punched in the head football.
There's a lot of people that are like, well, you're
wearing a helmet. And if you're not getting a concussion,
you're fine. What they're finding out, it's not the concussions.
It's not necessarily the big hits that are leading to CTE.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
It can be repetitive, smaller impacts to your head. I
don't know. It's just one of those things. No, that
makes sense. And I'm a total hypocrite. I love watching football.
Would I let my own kid play it?

Speaker 7 (23:41):
No.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
But I absolutely love football. So I'm a hypocrite about that.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
I don't think that makes you a hypocrite, Graham. As
long as it's somebody else, not your own kids.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
No, but I shouldn't be supporting something that's leading to just.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
We should all stop watching. That is never going to happen.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
The JV Show on Wild 94.9.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
Wild 94.9, we're the JV Show. I'm Selena.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
I'm Graham.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
And I'm Jess. Good morning to you. Happy Thursday to
the phones. Hi, who's this?

Speaker 1 (24:09):
Hi, this is Eddie.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
Eddie, you're caller 20. Congratulations!

Speaker 1 (24:17):
$ 100.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Thank you. You just got this $ 100 Smart & Final
gift card.

Speaker 8 (24:20):
You know, Labor Day is here, and Smart & Final
has burgers, buns, ice drinks, and everything your crew needs
at prices you love.

Speaker 11 (24:27):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
You are very welcome, Eddie. Have a great day. Hang
on for that winning.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Good morning, TV show. Here's a CPAP batting. First of all,
love it. Gives you the best type of sleep. But also,
when it comes to that time, a little medical role play,
if you know what I mean, could come in handy. Selena,
have you ever... Because your man is a CPAP wearer. Well,

(24:57):
he doesn't like wearing his. But have you ever.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
And you said you were trying to encourage him to
wear it more because the snoring and you can't sleep.
Have you ever tried maybe a little.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Some.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
Like doctor patient role play there?

Speaker 1 (25:10):
Yeah, you could be the nurse helping him put on
his CPAP.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
We have not done that, no.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
Well, why not? You're saying you need it. You said
you were considering.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
A sleep divorce because you couldn't sleep because of the snoring.
You want him to wear the CPAP thing.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
I do.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
You pop that nurse outfit on.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
I don't have a nurse outfit.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
You could get one on Amazon. Got to make it happen. Oh,
my God.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
I might. It's actually not a bad idea.

Speaker 13 (25:36):
It's all the stuff you need to know.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
What's hot in.

Speaker 13 (25:40):
Music, movies, shows, and the most talked about stories happening
today in the Bay.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
I want to know if you guys think Doja Cat
dissed Nicki Minaj here. So Doja was live streaming, right?
And you can see this video on our Instagram story.
Just go to JB Morning Show. It's right there in
our story.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
I already said that.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
So Doja live streaming and she's listening to music. And
then all of a sudden Nicki Minaj's song Super Bass
comes on, right? So Doja, not only did she then
skip the song to go to the next one, she
yawned because she was so bored and put to sleep.
Like she literally yawned there on camera. So everyone is like,
oh my gosh, you just shaded Nicki Minaj. We want

(26:18):
to know if it was intentional though, or you think
this was more accidental? I did look online. I was like, well,
do they have any like beef history here? I guess
over the years, people have compared the two and maybe
tried to pit them against each other. People think that
Doja's sounding a little like Nicki here and there. And
she's tried to say, you know, that's just fan talk.

(26:41):
I'm a huge fan of Nicki's. But I mean, what
do you think, Graham?

Speaker 1 (26:45):
I think the skipping the song intentional, the yawn, it
looks like a real yawn to me.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
I thought the same thing.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
I think she was just tired. I think if you
do a fake yawn, it's sort of exaggerated and shorter.
Hers is a long, drawn out. It looks like a
real yawn.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
And wouldn't we all skip Super Bass in 2026? Just saying.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Yeah, I think that's what we're supposed to do. Doja Cat,
I think if I didn't know who this was, I
might take me a couple guesses. Really? She looks a
lot different. Maybe I haven't seen her in a while.
Maybe it's the blonde hair.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
And she switches up her look a lot.

Speaker 10 (27:14):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
I love that about her. If you want to see
that video, JB Morning Show on our Insta. Oh, my God.
There might be another Taylor Lautner. You know who Taylor
Lautner is, right? Right.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
Actor.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
Twilight.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
But aren't there already two of his wife is also
Taylor Lautner, right?

Speaker 2 (27:31):
Yeah, his wife is also named Taylor, and then she
took his last name, so they're both Taylor Lautner.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Taylor and Taylor Lautner.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
And then they're expecting a baby girl.

Speaker 8 (27:41):
Oh, boy.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
A baby girl.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
And she was on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Taylor Lautner,
the wife version. was on the Call Her Daddy podcast,
and Alex Cooper was like, well, are you guys considering, like,
would you ever, I don't know, name your baby Taylor?
And she said, it'll be in the mix. We'll find
out when the baby comes, like, if it fits her. Like,
they're considering it.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
You're a psychopath if that's in the mix at that point.
You can't have... Three, a.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Family of Taylor Lawners. How hilarious is that?

Speaker 3 (28:10):
I mean, it's not unprecedented. George Foreman named all his
kids George Foreman. There was, every single one of them
was named George.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
Shut your mouth, you did.

Speaker 5 (28:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:16):
He had like a bunch of kids and they were
all George. And then if they were a girl, they
were like Georgette or something.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
But was his wife also named George?

Speaker 7 (28:24):
No.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Georgina, Georgette, George.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
I don't believe so. That I'd have to look into,
but I don't think that, I don't think that was
the case. I mean, you already have two Taylor Lautner's.
What's one more at that point? It's already confusing, you know?

Speaker 2 (28:37):
I don't like it. I hope they do.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
Just for the story. For the first time as a couple,
please welcome Taylor and Taylor Lautner.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
And their daughter, Taylor Lautner. All right, Grammy, what do
you have?

Speaker 3 (28:50):
All right, remember that guy we talked about last week
that was terrorizing residents in Philadelphia wearing like a Chucky
mask and he was just chasing and harassing women that
were out jogging? So creepy. Well, I have a major
update to the case, you guys, and everyone can rest
a little easier tonight.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
Particularly those of you that live in the Philadelphia area.
JV Show, number one there, by the way, because he
has been arrested.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
22-year-old Zemary Hughes, he was taken into custody by the U.S.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
Marshals on Tuesday night in Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Oh, was he doing this in Vegas, too?

Speaker 1 (29:20):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
It doesn't sound like it because it sounds like all
the incidents that they were wanting to charge him for
were in Philadelphia. And he must have known that he
was a very wanted individual because he first flew to
Orlando and then to Las Vegas, really tried to throw
people off the uh, off the case. But I think
he may have an apartment or something and live at

(29:43):
least part-time in Las Vegas.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
So they tracked him down there tonight.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
The fear that one man brought to the Philadelphia community
comes to an end. That's according to the supervisory direct, uh,
deputy of the U S marshal service. That's what he
told reporters the other night. The, uh, sort of sad
thing about this. Well, not the sad thing. I mean,
it's good that he got caught, but one of his
quote unquote victims, one of these women that he scared
and chased, she actually suffered a pretty serious leg injury

(30:09):
as she was trying to run away.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
I think she may have torn.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
An ACL, but she has, she suffered a serious leg
injury trying to get away from this guy, but he
will be facing felony and some misdemeanor charges.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Good.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
Anybody else that was victimized, his urge to come forward
and share their story. But yeah, the one that he
like ran up to and he like started chasing, he said,
are you ready to die? And she ran away screaming
and then severely injured her leg. So I think that's
part of the things that he's being charged for. But
everyone can rest easy because he's been arrested.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
Coming up next here on The JV Show, we have
your chance to win a chug mug inside our What
the Bleep game.

Speaker 1 (30:52):

You guys ready for today's clip?

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Sure.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
I've got a buddy that's so protective of his... I've
never seen it, but I know he won't let anyone
touch it.

Speaker 9 (31:25):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
But you've heard about it.

Speaker 7 (31:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
Have you tried to touch it and he like swatted
your hand away and that's how you know?

Speaker 1 (31:31):
No, I just know like don't even.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Don't even try.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Right.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
You don't play about that.

Speaker 8 (31:35):
Okay. Nope, nope, nope.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
All right.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
Think about what that bleeped out word could be. Remember, everybody.
Number one rule. This is a family show, so keep
your guesses PG.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
The number two rule. We don't really have a number
two rule. That's Jess in the nine o'clock hour.

Speaker 12 (31:49):
No.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
The number two rule is you want to get your
guesses in quick. And the number three rule. is we
want to hear your name and your city on the talkback.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
And we want to be able to shout you out
if you've gotten it correct, of course. The JV Show
on Wild 94.9.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Thanks for hanging out with The JV Show. I'm Selena.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
I'm Graham.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
And I'm Jess. And this is What The Bleep, where
you can win a chug mug if you are the
first person to guess today's beeped out word correctly. Here's
today's clip in case you missed it.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
I've got a buddy that's so protective of his... I've
never seen it, but I know he won't let anyone
touch it.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Nope, nope, nope.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
Remember, if you want to play along with us, just
leave your guess on the Talkback mic on the iHeartRadio app.
Let's go to your Talkbacks now.

Speaker 9 (32:26):
Hey, this is Charles from San Jose.

Speaker 10 (32:27):
It's a bleeped out word, grass.

Speaker 7 (32:30):
All right, guys, have a good day.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
Oh, that's every man when they get older, right?

Speaker 3 (32:34):
Yeah, once you start getting that perfectly mowed lawn and
everything's just immaculate.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
No, no, wait, wait, wait. Get off my grass. What
are you doing? Yeah, don't step on that.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Good morning, JV Show. Happy Baby Friday. It's Jenna from
South City, and is the bleeped-out word car?

Speaker 1 (32:51):
That's the most popular guest this morning. Car. There are
a lot of people like that. Don't touch the car.
Don't even think about it. Good morning, JV Show. This
is Rego from Castro Valley. Is the bleeped-out word toolbox?
Thank you. Have a good day. You don't touch another
man's tools.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Are you protective of your tools, Graham?

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Don't even think about it. I am not. Well, I mean,
I would be, I guess, if you... We had a
history of breaking them, but otherwise, no, I don't care.
Use whatever I got.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
All right. Great guesses so far, but not the right one. Graham,
I still think it's what I think it is.

Speaker 7 (33:28):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
And you tried to reach for your friends. And he
was like, uh-uh-uh, no touchy. But you did say this
is a family show.

Speaker 7 (33:34):
Right.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
So, dang it. If you have a different guest, though,
get it in now on the Talk Back mic on
the iHeartRadio app. We're going to play more of your
Talk Backs coming up.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
The JV Show on Wild 94.9.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
The JV Show. I'm Selena.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
I'm Graham.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
And I'm Jess. And we're playing our What the Bleep Game,
which we kick off every morning at 7.05. It's where
you just got to be the first person to guess
today's bleeped out word. And that's how you win a
JV Show chug mug. So, here's today's clip in case
you missed it.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
I've got a buddy that's so protective of his... I've
never seen it, but I know he won't let anyone
touch it.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
You're disgusting, Graham. You want to see it? Can I
touch it?

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Out of curiosity. I don't need to touch it, but
I would like.

Speaker 11 (34:08):
To see it.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
You just want to see it?

Speaker 7 (34:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Does he catch you eyeballing it and he's like, no, looky.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
No, looky. No, touchy.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
Are you protective of yours?

Speaker 1 (34:17):
Yeah, a little bit.

Speaker 9 (34:18):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
Not as much as him, though.

Speaker 7 (34:19):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
You can touch mine.

Speaker 7 (34:20):
Whoa.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
No, thanks. Now, remember, whenever you want to play along
and leave your guests, you do that on the iHeartRadio
app by using the TalkBack mic. Let's go to your
TalkBack now.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
Hey, yo, what it is? JV Morning Show. It's your boy,
Gucci Zay from Vallejo, California. And I think the word
is motorcycle.

Speaker 7 (34:40):
Holler at me.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
A room.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
A room.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
It's a motorcycle! Yeah!

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Good tribal.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
That was a very popular guest this morning. That would
have been my favorite talk about this morning, too. A varone!
I like that. Good morning. This is Joanna from Antica.
I'm in Nashville right now, still listening.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
I want to guess that the bleeped-out word is Mustang.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Have a great day. Look at that.

Speaker 3 (35:07):
Joanna Manteca is listening on the iHeartRadio app right now
in Nashville, where I looked up this morning, JV Show, number.

Speaker 7 (35:14):
One, you guys.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
That's a big deal. Because of you.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
I appreciate you still listening while you're out there. Awesome.

Speaker 8 (35:20):
I'm Sebastian from San Jose, and I think.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
That word is baby. Baby. Don't touch my baby.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
People are very protective of their babies, especially like.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
you know, first-time parents. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Did you wash your hands? Whoa, whoa, whoa. Don't touch.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
No kissing. No kissing.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
Don't even look at the baby.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Don't want to hurt.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
And then once like the third kid, you're like, here, yeah,
take them.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
You toss that thing around like it's a football. Here,
it's yours.

Speaker 6 (35:44):
Good morning, Graham, Jess, and Selena. This is Alec from
San Francisco. And my guess is grill. He won't let
them touch that grill.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
Okay, here's today's clip unbleeds.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
I've got a buddy that's so protective of his grill.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
I've never seen it, but I know he won't let
anyone touch it. Dills. No, no, grills.

Speaker 2 (36:10):
Grills.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
Grills. Sorry, not dills. Grill.

Speaker 3 (36:14):
Yeah, have you guys, I mean, the grill culture and
stuff like that, you don't ever touch another man's barbecue.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
I've heard about that. See, I'm not like that, though.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
If you want to jump on and flip some stuff
on my grill, I really don't care.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
That's because you have a grill that you picked up
on the side of the road. No, it was a
nice one. Would you feel differently? I made a lot
of money for it.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
Correction.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
I used to have a grill that I picked up
on the side of the road. Well, our neighbors had
just dragged it out on the street and they were
getting rid of it.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
So I brought it into my home.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
Did they see that you were the ones that took it?

Speaker 1 (36:46):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
I would go in like the middle of the night,
like in a black hoodie and face mask.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
But then like, you know, during the holidays, we had,
this is our old neighborhood. They were great.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
Like they would come over and drop, you know, cookies
off during the holidays. I'm sure it was sitting there
in the front yard.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
They saw their grill in your front yard?

Speaker 3 (37:03):
So I'm sure if they didn't see us taking it,
they then saw it later. Although there's a chance that
we just happened to have the same grill as them.
You know, I replaced the grates in it. Doesn't that
make it better?

Speaker 2 (37:14):
No, that's gross.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
What is gross about that? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
Something about it. Yeah, somebody else was all over that grill.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
But I replaced all the internal parts.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
I don't care. I don't know. But you have a
new one now.

Speaker 1 (37:24):
I do have a new grill now.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
And people can touch it.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
Oh, yeah. Touch away. Touch and feel. But some guys
are like, uh-uh, uh-uh. Nope, nope, nope. Not on my watch.
All right, let's give some shout-outs, shall we?

Speaker 9 (37:35):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
First, that was Alec in San Francisco. What's up, Alec?
What's up, Alec? Brand new JV show, Chug Mug, coming
your way. Nice job. He had the first... correct answer
this morning. A few other people got it correct this morning.
Our buddy Jonathan in San Carlos had it.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
So did Ellie in Fairfield. Shout out to her. Ashley
in Berkeley had the correct answer. So did Christine in Stockton.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
Good morning, Christine. Happy Thursday. Leo in San Jose came
up with the correct answer. So did Sophia in Napa.
We did it, Napa. Well, you almost did it. You
didn't win the check, but you got the correct answer.
Good job, Napa. Anybody else squeak one in here just
at the last minute that we haven't yet seen?

Speaker 2 (38:10):
That was it.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
Okay, okay, okay. Pretty good. A couple of the other
most popular guests. Can I go through them, if I may, Selena?
A phone was a very popular guest. Yes, people were
very protective of their phones. A lot of people guessed
a watch or Rolex.

Speaker 8 (38:23):
Okay, yes.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
Like a nice watch. Daughter was a guest that came through.
Don't touch my daughter. Very protective of their daughters. Yes,
that happens.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
Collections, like memorabilia, trophies. Another popular guest, dog. I guess people,
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
No touching.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
No, don't touch my dog.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
Guitar was another one. And then we have one guest,
Ricky and Fremont.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
Guest, Mistress. You don't want anybody else touching your mistress.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
She's my side chick.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
Yeah, that's mine.

Speaker 7 (38:52):
All right.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
Thank you, everybody, for playing. We'll do it again tomorrow morning.
Same time, 7.05 right here on The JV Show.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
The JV Show on Wild 94.9.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Wild 94.9 with the Bay's number one hit music station,
The JV Show. I'm Selena. I'm Graham. And I'm Jessica.
And everyone, welcome Mary to The JV Show. Good morning, Mary.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
Welcome, Mary. Good morning. Morning.

Speaker 9 (39:12):
All right.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
So you're going to be playing our Yup Nope game
this morning. Just tell her what she could be winning.
A Chromebook. Here's how this is going to work. We're
going to ask you four trivia questions, Mary. You just
got to get three correct. If you can do that,
the Chromebook is yours. Are you ready? I'm ready. Here
we go. Question number one. Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse are

(39:33):
all cities located in what U.S.

Speaker 1 (39:35):
State?

Speaker 6 (39:38):
New York.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
That was easy.

Speaker 5 (39:41):
That is correct.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
That was easy.

Speaker 1 (39:42):
Why is it called Yonkers?

Speaker 2 (39:44):
I don't know, but I like it.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
What a weird name. All right, question number two. Finish
the name of this 90s rock band. Nine Inch.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Careful.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
Yeah, very careful here.

Speaker 5 (39:56):
Nine Inch.
Nail?

Speaker 9 (40:04):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (40:05):
Nine Inch Nails. Gotta be careful with that one.

Speaker 12 (40:09):
Very careful.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
Good start.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
Question number three. Mary, what's the square root of 81? Nine.

Speaker 7 (40:15):
No cheating.

Speaker 10 (40:22):
What did.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
She say?

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Ah, you got me there. Do you know it? Nine.

Speaker 13 (40:35):
No, nine.

Speaker 4 (40:36):
Nine?

Speaker 9 (40:37):
Yep.

Speaker 7 (40:39):
Nine.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
How did you say no, you don't know it, and
then guess nine?

Speaker 1 (40:43):
It's a square root eight. You guys got me. It's nine.

Speaker 2 (40:46):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (40:47):
I have no answer. It's nine. But yeah, nine.

Speaker 8 (40:51):
Wait, what?

Speaker 2 (40:53):
Nice work.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
Okay. Well played. You've already won the game somehow.

Speaker 3 (40:59):
But we'll just do this last question just for funsies.
Al Pacino played Tony Montana in what iconic gangster movie?

Speaker 2 (41:10):
Tony Montana, Al Pacino.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
Is that Scarface? Scarface?

Speaker 6 (41:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:16):
Oh, it's Scarface. I don't know the answer. It's Scarface.
I don't know what it is. I don't know what
it is.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
Nine.

Speaker 1 (41:23):
Mary, you did it! Nice job.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
You aced that.

Speaker 8 (41:28):
Yep, and you just got a Chromebook courtesy.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
Of Columbia Records. By the way, I knew you would
do great. Graham was doubting you the entire time. He's like,
I just get weird vibes from Mary. I don't think
she's going to do well.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
No, I did not.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
I thought you were going to do great because Selena
took the test book right before we went on the
air and she's like, I got them all right. And
then I went, I must have made the questions too
easy today.

Speaker 5 (41:46):
What?

Speaker 1 (41:47):
I'm kidding.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
Mary, well, nice work. You got a Chromebook. Thank you.
You're welcome. Have a great rest of your day and
hang on there.

Speaker 3 (41:57):
Can we just remind people, look, we've given away a stack,
an absolute stack of Chromebooks this entire month. But by
my calculations, the square root of 81, I have no idea.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
It's not. No, by my calculations, tomorrow is our last
Chromebook to give away.

Speaker 9 (42:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:12):
Last day.

Speaker 1 (42:13):
Oh, no.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
So make sure you're here at 730. Lock in, people.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
For that chance.

Speaker 2 (42:18):
You don't want to miss it.

Speaker 7 (42:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (42:20):
Can I share a DM that I got? Mom in
my DMs. Mom in my DMs.

Speaker 3 (42:24):
Karina slid into my DMs yesterday thanking us for playing
her talkback. She left one about the tipping discussion that
we were having yesterday. She was the bartender. I don't
know if you remember her talkback, Selena. She gave her
viewpoint from a bartender standpoint. And I asked her where
she worked and she said the American Bull Bar and
Grill in Burlingame. And she asked if we could give

(42:46):
a shout out to the entire Bull family as well
as to her daughter, Shirley, who she said listens with
her every single morning on the way to school.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
And Shirley just started the eighth grade. She says she's
been at the American Bull Bar and Grill for 12
years and they're like a second family to me. And
she wants to let everybody know, great local sports bar
to catch any Niner game or any other game. So
go say hi to Karina at American Bull Bar and
Grill in Burlingame. And shout out to Shirley in dominating

(43:15):
the eighth grade. Well, at least I hope dominating the
eighth grade are about to, but either way.

Speaker 6 (43:19):
Who gives a fuck?

Speaker 2 (43:20):
That is a good point. You know, I love my bulls.
Red bulls.

Speaker 1 (43:24):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
Obviously.

Speaker 1 (43:26):
No, no, no, no. Got it. The JV show on
wild 94, nine.

Speaker 2 (43:30):
Can we put some respect on magical Matthew's name today?

Speaker 1 (43:36):
And the absolute bangers he's playing on throwback Thursday.

Speaker 8 (43:40):
Have a good morning, y'all.

Speaker 2 (43:41):
Yes!

Speaker 1 (43:43):
Matt's mix on fire today.

Speaker 3 (43:45):
I think the last, like, two or three weeks, the
throwback mixes on Thursdays have been absolute fire. Selena, you
said you wanted to take credit for that.

Speaker 1 (43:52):
Please explain.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
I just wanted to say, yeah, you're welcome, Bay Area,
because who was putting pressure on our boss to, like,
let Magic Matt actually do, like, a good throwback mix?

Speaker 1 (44:02):
Wow!

Speaker 13 (44:03):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (44:03):
The shade. No, it's not shade, but, like, let's throw
it back even further than, like, 2016. You know what
I mean? Wow. That's all I was saying.

Speaker 1 (44:13):
Selena has peeled back the curtain a little bit, and
that was a discussion that was had on numerous occasions.

Speaker 3 (44:17):
But you're just posturing and talking a big game right.

Speaker 1 (44:19):
Now because our boss is out of town.

Speaker 2 (44:21):
He is.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
So there you go. Oh, but he could be listening
on the newly upgraded iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 13 (44:27):
It's all the stuff you need to know. What's hot
in music, movies, shows, and the most talked about stories
happening today in the Bay.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
Really quick before we get to how much money Justin
Baldoni is going to have to actually pay Blake Lively. Jess,
did you watch the Let's Marry Harry reunion? Oh my God,
not yet? Are you going to watch it?

Speaker 3 (44:48):
I am.

Speaker 2 (44:48):
Are you going to spoil it for me? Okay, well,
I'm not going to spoil it if you are still
going to watch it. Just go ahead.

Speaker 1 (44:52):
It's fine.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
I'm going to watch it. Can I just say one thing?

Speaker 1 (44:55):
Spoiler alert.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
Oh my God, just in case. The reunion dropped yesterday
on Netflix. There were a few things.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
Harry is this again? Harry Styles?

Speaker 2 (45:02):
Harry Jowsey.

Speaker 9 (45:03):
Who?

Speaker 2 (45:04):
He is from a bunch of Netflix reality shows. So
they had all the ladies that were on the show
there at the reunion last night. Some of them didn't
show up, but... They pointed out that there were other
hookups on the show that didn't even make it to camera.
And on one night, there were two hookups. Two different

(45:24):
women in one.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
Major spoiler there.

Speaker 2 (45:28):
I don't think at the same time, like one after another.

Speaker 7 (45:31):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 2 (45:31):
I know. Isn't that so gross?

Speaker 8 (45:34):
This is why I told you guys this guy wasn't,
it was clear he's not getting married.

Speaker 2 (45:38):
He's not ready to get married.

Speaker 1 (45:39):
Right.

Speaker 2 (45:39):
And you were right. I'm not going to spoil it
for those who are still going to see it, but
I guess that probably is a spoiler.

Speaker 1 (45:45):
Yes, major spoiler.

Speaker 2 (45:47):
I was going to say they get into whether or not,
you know, he's still together and was the marriage even
real and all that. But that's all I'm going to
say about that. All right, now to how much money
Justin Baldoni is going to have to pay Blake Lively.
So we all remember when a judge dismissed Justin's defamation
suit against Blake, right? And when Blake's harassment claims got
dismissed as well. They ended up just settling things, you know,

(46:10):
and this entire mess never even made it to trial,
which we were all waiting for at that point. You
dragged this on for, you know, over a year. At
least let it go to trial. Give me the piping
hot tea that I want. Well, the judge at the
time did say that Blake would be awarded some money
because Jess didn't have to pay for her legal fees
and whatnot. And when that dollar amount she was seeking
came out, I think we were all like, really? You

(46:31):
remember she was seeking more than $ 8 million? Right. So they,
you know, talked about this in court and they determined
that the council's rates were not unreasonable, but the number
of hours which Blake was seeking reimbursement for, that was unreasonable.

Speaker 1 (46:51):
The math didn't math on the total legal hours?

Speaker 2 (46:53):
The math wasn't math-in. So he is going to have
to pay her $ 363, 000 in attorney's fees and then another
$ 44, 000 for other costs and expenses. So we're talking a
little over $ 400, 000. And she wanted $ 8 million.

Speaker 8 (47:10):
$ 8 million is wild.

Speaker 1 (47:12):
That's quite the discount.

Speaker 2 (47:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (47:13):
That's like meta yesterday. We're suing you for $ 1. 4 trillion.
How's 18 billion sound?

Speaker 1 (47:18):
Oh, perfect. All right. And isn't that crazy?

Speaker 2 (47:20):
That sounds like such a small amount of money compared
to the trillion. Forgetting that, it's still billions of dollars.

Speaker 3 (47:25):
But Facebook meta came out. They got the better end
of that deal.

Speaker 2 (47:30):
No, they really did.

Speaker 1 (47:30):
Big time.

Speaker 2 (47:31):
But anyway, so after Justin pays this money to her,
we can actually be done with this entire saga.

Speaker 1 (47:38):
Promise?

Speaker 2 (47:39):
I hope so.

Speaker 3 (47:40):
Is this going to be like, Graham, this is the
last time I'm going to talk about Taylor's wedding?

Speaker 2 (47:44):
I mean, after he pays us off, what else is
there to talk about? It's done. I don't.

Speaker 1 (47:48):
I'll believe it. There's always something with those two.

Speaker 7 (47:50):
True.

Speaker 2 (47:51):
All right, Graham, what do you have inside today's How
Does Trending?

Speaker 1 (47:53):
Sad day, you guys.

Speaker 3 (47:54):
Take a moment and say your goodbyes to the Pro Bowl.
The NFL announced yesterday that they are scrapping the entire thing.
The Pro Bowl has been played in some form every
season since 1951, minus the one COVID year, of course.
But it's been a very long-running tradition in the NFL.
We know, however, that the game struggled mightily to get
viewers because, well, people didn't really like watching it because

(48:16):
nobody was trying out there on the field. Nobody's playing
defense offensively. Nobody's hitting each other. It just really wasn't
the NFL product that we're used to. And players did.
They didn't really want to play in it either because
why risk getting hurt at the very end of the
season when they just want to go to Cabo?

Speaker 1 (48:31):
So the past couple of years, they made it a
flag football game. Remember that?

Speaker 3 (48:34):
The last one right here in San Francisco. But it
turns out nobody gives a fart about watching flag football.
NFL players don't. Playing flag football?

Speaker 8 (48:43):
Nope.

Speaker 3 (48:43):
Didn't really draw the viewers in. The viewership pretty dismal
on this past season's Pro Bowl. So you know what?
The NFL's taking their ball and they're going home. We're
just canceling the entire thing. They aren't, however, giving up
the Pro Bowl title. Players will still be given the
honor of making the Pro Bowl. But there's no actual
Pro Bowl. Like, you're a Pro Bowler. Which is a

(49:03):
nice honor. Which means, you know, you're respected for having
a great season. But there's no Pro Bowl. But you're
a Pro Bowler!

Speaker 2 (49:10):
But.

Speaker 1 (49:11):
I guess. Your thoughts?

Speaker 2 (49:14):
Personally, I don't give a fart about that.

Speaker 1 (49:18):
Who gives a fart?

Speaker 2 (49:19):
That's my thoughts. I mean, did you, like, was that
something you looked forward to, Graham?

Speaker 3 (49:22):
No, I think this is the best possible, like, solution
to this problem. They kept trying to change the format
each year.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
It got confusing.

Speaker 3 (49:31):
Mix the players up and we'll play flag football on
a 50-yard field and then we're going to have some
skills competitions and then we're going to do the.

Speaker 1 (49:37):
It just didn't work.

Speaker 13 (49:39):
And I.

Speaker 3 (49:39):
I hate to say it, but I think some of
the other all-star games and things like that pretty soon
might follow suit because everybody, nobody wants to participate because
nobody wants to get hurt. Nobody tries hard in the,
like let's take the NBA all-star game, for example, that
they just run up and down the court and shoot
three pointers from half court or whatever. And, and, or
run in and dunk the ball and nobody plays defense.

(50:00):
It's kind of like, what am I watching?

Speaker 2 (50:02):
I will say like, it's, it is fun when, when
like all-star weekend is in your area, but like nobody
really cares about the games.

Speaker 3 (50:08):
And I think before in the pro bowl, at least maybe,
I don't know, players had a little more pride in
it and they wanted to represent their team and it
was an honor to get selected to the pro bowl,
but they also got a trip to Hawaii. It was in,
it was in Hawaii every year and maybe there was
something to that, but the viewership just dropped off each
and every year. And I just kind of think a
lot of other pro sports leagues are going to end

(50:29):
up kind of doing the same thing. Cause it's just like,
it's not, it's not working if your own players aren't
excited about being in the game and want to like
try their hardest. But I also get from their standpoint,
I'm going to risk my massive contract I got getting
hurt in a game that doesn't count.

Speaker 2 (50:44):
Are they even allowed to participate?

Speaker 1 (50:47):
Well, yes. They are because it's part of their league.

Speaker 2 (50:49):
It's a league activity. Duh, that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
Are they allowed to participate? Everybody's in violation.

Speaker 2 (50:55):
You would think if it's in their contracts, like, hey,
you can't do any of these extracurricular things because you
can risk breaking something. You would think that they would
make them sit it out.

Speaker 3 (51:03):
What's generally in their contracts, a lot of them, if
you make the Pro Bowl, you get sometimes incentive bonuses
and stuff like that. Oh, they encourage it. Yeah, you
can earn more money, but then you... do you want
to play in the pro bowl? Most of these guys
fake an injury. They don't like fake it. Like, Oh,
I fell down, hurt my arm. They just say, Oh,
I have hamstring tightness. I can't play in the pro bowl.
And then they select another person to take their spot.

(51:25):
And then that person declined. And then they, you know,
and so then the guys that take.

Speaker 1 (51:28):
The pro bowl field, they're like that guy, he didn't
have that great of a season, but he's in the
pro bowl. Yeah, sure. Why not? But now we're scrapping
the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (51:35):
Now it's done. All right.

Speaker 1 (51:36):
I'm fine with it.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
Coming up next here on the JV show, we have
your chance to win two tickets for Teddy Swims. You know,
he's coming to Chase Center in November. Also, Graham, you
want to talk about sort of like a, can we
call it like a Bay Area challenge?

Speaker 1 (51:49):
Yeah, I think so. Is that what it is?

Speaker 2 (51:50):
We're going to talk about that next.

Speaker 1 (51:52):
The JV Show on Wild 94.9.

Speaker 2 (51:55):
Jess, are you ready for the show on Friday? Oh,
my gosh.

Speaker 8 (51:57):
I'm actually not because I looked at the set list
and there's like 58 songs on there.

Speaker 2 (52:01):
Oh, my God. The show's going to be like over
three hours. She came in here and she's like, Selena,
did you see how many songs that him and Usher perform?
58 songs. It goes until midnight.

Speaker 1 (52:12):
58 song set list?

Speaker 2 (52:14):
That's what I'm seeing from everybody talking about the tour.
I don't know if I can stay awake till midnight.

Speaker 1 (52:18):
I don't think I can. I don't think I can either.
I'd get bored.

Speaker 8 (52:21):
Like, listen, I love a concert and I love watching
a performance, but after a couple.

Speaker 2 (52:26):
Hours, I'm going to want to go home. We are
The JV Show. I'm Selena.

Speaker 1 (52:32):
I'm Graham.

Speaker 2 (52:33):
And I'm Jess. Thanks so much for hanging out with us. Graham,
before you get to this Bay Area challenge that you
want to talk about, I just saw this video on From,
I don't know how the heck to say this guy's name.
How would you pronounce this? T-H-I-J-S.

Speaker 1 (52:48):
This.

Speaker 5 (52:50):
This.

Speaker 1 (52:50):
This.

Speaker 2 (52:51):
Oh, Simone. I don't know how to say his name.
I apologize. He's a Stanford student. He, you know, he
is majoring in computer science and he made a San
Francisco GTA. You know, everybody's talking about GTA right now because,
you know, it's about to drop or actually, I don't
know if that's fact. I think it does. Yeah, it's

(53:11):
dropping this year. They have like some preview coming out
on Netflix pretty soon as well. So he shared that
he took data from Apple Maps and he created like
a playable San Francisco GTA. You guys have to see
this video. Jess is posting it on our Instagram story,
JV Morning Show. You can literally steal cars. You can
get into cars. You can drive around the city and

(53:33):
it is all accurate. People who live in the city
were like, bro, I was in my backyard. And like,
you can hang glide down to Oracle Park and you're just, you're,
you know, driving on the Golden Gate and there's just
all these, I don't know, just, you can go literally
anywhere because it's Apple Maps. It's accurate.

Speaker 3 (53:48):
The map Yeah, the actual map of the game is
pretty incredible.

Speaker 1 (53:53):
It's pretty nuts.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
Isn't that so cool?

Speaker 1 (53:55):
That we have satellite and street photos that have all
been compiled this accurately. Because that part looks super real.
The gameplay looks a little rough. But, you know, I mean,
I guess this is just sort of a, you know.

Speaker 2 (54:06):
It was just like a little quick thing.

Speaker 8 (54:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (54:08):
It doesn't look obviously like anything. You know, how GTA
really looks.

Speaker 1 (54:12):
Like this person's walking in the air above Oracle Park.
Make that make sense. I don't get that. The car
driving on the street. Yeah, I get that. But then
there's a guy walking in the air above Oracle Park.

Speaker 2 (54:22):
Well, there's certain things when you go into maps. Like
for some areas, you don't get street view. And even
when you do, you know, it's like blurry. You know
how it is. So that's what it looks like. But
I still think very, very cool. Yeah, super cool. All right.
We got to talk about this Bay Area challenge.

Speaker 5 (54:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:36):
The Costco Century Club. Have you guys heard about this?
There was somebody that posted about three weeks ago that
they had invented a 50 mile, I think, five Costco
hot dog challenge. You're on a bike and somebody said
you can bike to, you know, five Costco's and 50
miles or something.

Speaker 1 (54:53):
And you got to eat the five hot dogs.

Speaker 2 (54:55):
I did see that.

Speaker 3 (54:55):
OK, that was going going around about three weeks ago. Well,
this guy named Astrid Kane, he says he's the official
San Francisco glizzy gobbler, and he came up with his
own challenge.

Speaker 2 (55:07):
Is that what he calls himself?

Speaker 1 (55:08):
Yeah, he said he's.

Speaker 3 (55:09):
The official glizzy gobbler of San Francisco. And he said
his new challenge, 10 Costco's 10 hot dogs, 100 miles.

Speaker 1 (55:20):
And he did it, you guys.

Speaker 3 (55:21):
This past weekend, he actually visited 10 Bay Area Costco's.
He started at the one here in San Francisco at
10 a.m. And it looks like he finished one that
was in San Jose at about, I don't know, 8.30 or.

Speaker 1 (55:34):
Something at night.

Speaker 3 (55:35):
So it took him, I'd say about 11 hours to complete.
And he said it only cost him $ 16.

Speaker 6 (55:39):
50.

Speaker 3 (55:40):
And he did actually eat all 10 hot dogs. Are
you guys impressed or grossed out?

Speaker 2 (55:48):
I'm grossed out.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
Why? This is 100 miles, 10 hot dogs and 10
Costco's in the Bay Area? This guy's a legend. Not
to mention, he's the number one glizzy gobbler.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
I don't even think I can finish one of those.

Speaker 1 (55:59):
You can't finish one Costco dog?

Speaker 2 (56:00):
They're so big.

Speaker 1 (56:01):
Oh, I could crush... two costco hot dogs no problem.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
Oh easy if i just have if i'm at a
cookout and i have like one hot dog like i'm
full off of that and those are like small.

Speaker 3 (56:11):
You still have ptsd though from that time we did
a hot dog eating contest here on the jv show
and you only ate like one and a half of
them you're like i can't oh i got so grossed
out after me and chidi and jess were just glizzy
gobbling like We were supposed to because it was a challenge.
I can't even finish the first one.

Speaker 2 (56:30):
You get to a point where you like think about
what you're actually eating. And I'm sorry, I got so
icked out. And I still do thinking about it.

Speaker 1 (56:36):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (56:36):
You don't want to think about what's in the glizzy.
How many hot dogs have you eaten since that hot
dog challenge was like two years ago?

Speaker 2 (56:41):
I had one. I had one on the forest.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
She was eating one dog. That was it.

Speaker 2 (56:45):
Since the hot dog challenge. I've already forgotten about the
hot dog challenge.

Speaker 3 (56:47):
Selena, could you, what about the biking portion of this?
Could you ride a hundred.

Speaker 1 (56:51):
Miles in a day? Do you even know how to
ride a bike? I guess we'll start there. Do you
know how to ride a bike?

Speaker 2 (56:56):
I do.

Speaker 5 (56:57):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (56:58):
I do.

Speaker 2 (56:59):
Could I ride that much?

Speaker 1 (57:01):
No.

Speaker 2 (57:01):
Maybe on an e-bike.

Speaker 1 (57:03):
Does that count?

Speaker 3 (57:04):
No, that does not count for the Costco Century Club Challenge. Jess,
we know on this show that you can't swim. Can
you ride a bike?

Speaker 2 (57:13):
I can ride a bike.

Speaker 1 (57:13):
Okay, 100 miles?

Speaker 2 (57:15):
Oh, hell no.

Speaker 8 (57:16):
I am not a big fan of riding bikes, especially
on the street. I feel like I get scared that
I'm just going to fall over and someone's going to
run me over. So that is something I would not
even attempt.

Speaker 1 (57:28):
I agree. I'm with you there. I could definitely ride
the distance.

Speaker 3 (57:31):
Do I want to be riding through the Bay Area
and from San Francisco to San Jose on various streets
and highways with the way people drive around here?

Speaker 1 (57:39):
No, I'd be terrified.

Speaker 3 (57:41):
Give me a bike trail, though, or something like that
or a designated bike path.

Speaker 9 (57:44):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (57:45):
You could do 100 miles on a bike path.

Speaker 1 (57:48):
Oh, easy.

Speaker 7 (57:48):
What?

Speaker 12 (57:49):
100?

Speaker 3 (57:49):
As long as it's not straight uphill or something. 100
miles is really not that bad on a bike. I mean,
what are you going, 15 miles an hour or something?
I mean, this is not that big.

Speaker 2 (57:59):
You're crazy.

Speaker 1 (57:59):
You could be going 20 miles an hour. Like, that's
really not that difficult. The sitting on the bike seat
for that long, you guys, well, you're not a guy,
but that part, that's the toughest part of the entire thing.
The pedaling? No, that part's easy. The sitting on the
bike seat for that long. That is.

Speaker 3 (58:14):
Now, the 10 hot dogs, I got to give major
props to... To Astrid Cain, the official glizzy gobbler of
San Francisco, because there's not a chance I could eat
10 Costco dogs in one.

Speaker 1 (58:25):
I don't even know if I could do it in
one full day.

Speaker 2 (58:26):
You would think that would slow you down.

Speaker 1 (58:28):
Well, you're burning them off as you're going, but.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
You need fuel. Yeah, but after you eat, like, you
need a nap.

Speaker 1 (58:34):
I just, there's no way I could do 10. Five?

Speaker 5 (58:37):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (58:37):
You could do five?

Speaker 1 (58:39):
Over an 11-hour period or something? I could eat five.
I mean, that's still a lot. I could eat five
Costco dogs. I'd still be sick of them. Like, that's
a lot. But 10?

Speaker 12 (58:45):
I mean.

Speaker 1 (58:45):
10? Well done to the official Glizzy Gobbler.

Speaker 2 (58:49):
And he did this why again?

Speaker 1 (58:50):
He's a senior food reporter, I think, for the SF
Standard or something. Just for funsies. And so, yeah, I
think he just came up with this challenge and did it.
Using his free will. And I'm hoping he inspires some others.
I'd love to see if any of our JV Show
listeners could complete this.

Speaker 2 (59:05):
Why don't you just do an apple one that's smaller?

Speaker 1 (59:08):
And I just bike to our one Costco?

Speaker 6 (59:10):
No!

Speaker 1 (59:11):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 2 (59:12):
Maybe bike to wineries?

Speaker 1 (59:14):
The one Costco.

Speaker 3 (59:15):
I'll bike there and I'll get a hot dog and
I'll bike home.

Speaker 1 (59:19):
That I could do.

Speaker 2 (59:19):
Nobody's impressed. Do five hot dogs, five wine glasses, and then... Oh,
you want him to ride drunk?

Speaker 8 (59:28):
No.

Speaker 1 (59:29):
Jess, this is a family show. Just clean it up.

Speaker 2 (59:33):
All right. We have tickets for Teddy swims.

Speaker 7 (59:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (59:37):
Caller 2888-333-9490. All right, dad, you were right. I am
very sore and in.

Speaker 8 (59:41):
A lot of pain. I should have listened to you yesterday.

Speaker 2 (59:49):
Graham, is that for you?

Speaker 3 (59:50):
That's my son Ford. I will explain what he is
talking about coming up.

Speaker 2 (59:53):
Oh, my God. What happened?

Speaker 1 (59:54):
I saw that he just left to talk back a
few minutes ago. He's hurt, you guys. He should have listened. Oh,
my God.

Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
I told you.

Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
The JV Show on Wild 94.9. Wild 94.9, the base
number one hit music station.

Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
The JV Show. I'm Selena.

Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
I'm Graham.

Speaker 2 (01:00:08):
And I'm Jess. What do you got, Eddie, from Big Spirit?

Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
I bought the 10 Costco guy that spent $ 16.

Speaker 7 (01:00:16):
Matthew, Matthew, bro.

Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
That's a lot of gas.

Speaker 1 (01:00:20):
How much did he spend on gas? Not $ 16. Let
me know. Let's just help you guys out with the
math here. It was a biking challenge.

Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
He rode his bike 100 miles to 10 Bay Area
Costco's and ate 10 hot dogs.

Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
And a Costco dog is only $ 1. 50, right? Are they
$ 1. 50 or $ 1.

Speaker 6 (01:00:43):
75?

Speaker 2 (01:00:43):
I feel like they raised the price recently. It was $ 1.

Speaker 7 (01:00:47):
50.

Speaker 1 (01:00:47):
I thought they vowed to never raise the prices.

Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
Let me do some research. Definitely below $ 2, I think.

Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
Either way.

Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
Yeah, it's under $ 2. They're $ 1. 50 or $ 1.

Speaker 1 (01:00:56):
74.

Speaker 3 (01:00:56):
Whatever it is, he did the entire thing. He didn't
have to pay for gas. That's how the math mass
there because he was riding a bicycle.

Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
Yeah, $ 1. 50.

Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
It still says.

Speaker 1 (01:01:06):
The JV Show on Wild 94.9. All right, let's go
to the phones. Wild 94.9. Hi, who's this?

Speaker 8 (01:01:14):
Hi, my name is Amber.

Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
Amber, what is going on? You just won!

Speaker 12 (01:01:22):
I am like, my daughter asks me to call all
the time. She insists that we listen to the station.

Speaker 5 (01:01:29):
She's smart.

Speaker 8 (01:01:30):
I just dropped her off at school.

Speaker 12 (01:01:31):
It's her birthday on Saturday, and I can't believe I won!

Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
You just won!

Speaker 1 (01:01:37):
Best mom ever! What's your daughter's name?

Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
You just made me the best mom ever.

Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 10 (01:01:43):
I can't believe it.

Speaker 12 (01:01:44):
You guys are amazing. We love you so much.

Speaker 2 (01:01:46):
Oh, my God. We love you back.

Speaker 12 (01:01:48):
She is going to be so dope. She's 14. I've
never taken her to a concert before, you guys. You're
making dreams come true.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
You're amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:01:55):
What's her name?

Speaker 12 (01:01:59):
My daughter's name is Yuval.

Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
Y-U-V-A-L.

Speaker 1 (01:02:02):
There you go. Who gives a fuck? Oh, my God.

Speaker 8 (01:02:04):
Well, you guys are going to be checking out Teddy
Storks at Chase Center November 10th.

Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
Nice work, Mom. Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 12 (01:02:11):
Thank you guys so much.

Speaker 2 (01:02:12):
You're the best. You are welcome. Hang on there for
those tickets. All right. Before we get to our meeting
in the ladies' room. Ladies' room.

Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
Look at that.

Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
Ladies room. Graham, your son left us this talk back.

Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
All right, dad, you were right.

Speaker 6 (01:02:30):
I am very sore and in a lot of pain.

Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
I should have listened to you yesterday.

Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
What happened?

Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
What'd you do to him?

Speaker 1 (01:02:38):
Should have listened to me. Here's what happened, you guys.

Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
So my son, for some reason, has decided that he
would like to grow up to be the world's strongest man.
And he's like, do you think I could do that?
And I said, you can achieve anything. It's just going
to take a lot, a lot of really hard work.
And he decided that that work was going to start yesterday.
And so yesterday, he's like, I'm going to do some push-ups.
And he had already, maybe for his birthday or something

(01:03:02):
last year, gotten some small weights. Maybe they're like six
pounders or something.

Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
He got weights for his birthday?

Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
Yeah, he wanted some. But then they haven't been getting used.

Speaker 3 (01:03:10):
But now that he wants to be the world's strongest man,
he has.

Speaker 1 (01:03:15):
Been using them.

Speaker 3 (01:03:15):
So yesterday, he started doing curls. He was doing a
lot of curls. He was doing some weighted squats.

Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
And for those who don't know, how old is Ford?

Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
He just turned nine years old.

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Nine, okay.

Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
So he's got some time. you know, to ramp up
to becoming the world's strongest man. And then he started
doing some sit-ups and he's like, dad, I'm going to
do a hundred sit-ups. And then I was like, he said,
what else can I do? You could do some pushups.
I'm going to do 100 pushups. Everything was 100. And
I said, Oh my God. I was like, Hey son,
you don't, uh, this is your first time kind of
working out. And I was like, you're going to get really,

(01:03:46):
really sore. So maybe just today, you know, do 25
of that, you know, 25 reps of that 25 and
just see how you feel tomorrow. You'll probably be a
little bit sore, uh, But then each day you can
kind of add work to it. And I was like,
just trust me, you know, coming from a guy who's
worked out for a very long time. I kind of
know what I'm talking about. No, dad, I feel great.

(01:04:07):
I'm going to do it. And then next thing you know,
my daughter, who's about to turn seven, she joined in.
So the two of them are in the living room
just doing crunches and lifting weights and doing pushups and
all these things. And they're counting each other's reps. And
this goes on and on for about 45 minutes. My guys,
you're going to be hurting tomorrow. Just dial it back.

Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
That's so cute.

Speaker 3 (01:04:25):
That's enough for today and then tomorrow because if you
want to become the world's strongest man, it's all about consistency.
You just got to keep doing it and be regimented
about workout tomorrow, workout the next day, and you're going
to get stronger and stronger.

Speaker 1 (01:04:36):
They kept lifting up their shirts. Look at my abs.
See my abs? I didn't see anything, but they're like,
they're there now. I can feel them. And then one
of them said, we should go for a run. And
I was like, okay.

Speaker 3 (01:04:46):
And there's kind of a trail that goes through this
property that's behind our house.

Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
And I said, go for a run. Run back there.
Take a big loop. Come back. Dad, we can do
that by ourselves. Yes. I said, go be a kid.
Go outside.

Speaker 2 (01:04:58):
Run.

Speaker 1 (01:04:59):
Do whatever you want.

Speaker 3 (01:05:00):
So they took off on about a I would guess
that the loop that they did is probably a mile
and a half.

Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
And they went jogging, the two of them. It was
super cute. And I, you know, I was smiling when
they left. And, you know, they came back about a
half hour later or whatever. They'd gone for a jog together.

Speaker 3 (01:05:15):
And then they came back and still wanted to keep
going with the, and I said, guys, you have to stop.
You're going to be hurting so bad. And you got
baseball practice tomorrow and soccer this week. You're going to
be so sore and in so much pain. And you
heard that talk back right there, him saying, I should
have listened to you, dad. And with my wife had
texted me about a half hour before that. And she's like,
He's so sore he can't even brush his teeth this winter.

(01:05:36):
He's like about to cry just brushing his teeth.

Speaker 1 (01:05:40):
I told you.

Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
That's the struggle.

Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
Why don't these kids listen when you have the answers?
I have the answer. I'm telling you. But they don't listen. No,
I feel great. I feel so strong. Check out my abs.
They're bigger. No, they're not, but.

Speaker 2 (01:05:56):
Oh, my God. And you had said off the air
that he has baseball practice today. There's no way.

Speaker 1 (01:06:00):
Two-hour baseball practice today.

Speaker 2 (01:06:02):
There's no way.

Speaker 1 (01:06:02):
You're going to have to just skip it at this point.
I'm going to have the kid that's laying on the
ground today. I hate being that parent. That's the worst.

Speaker 3 (01:06:09):
But that's what will happen today because he's not going
to be able to move. If you are thinking about
working out or inspired, maybe you want to become the
world's strongest man, you've got to just ease into it.
A little bit the first day, maybe a little more
the next day.

Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
Don't even bother, Graham. No kid is going to take
that advice and ease into it. Your own son did it.

Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
They go all out. He can barely move.

Speaker 3 (01:06:29):
I remember the first time I ever worked out and
I did a whole bunch of bicep stuff. The next
day I walked around like I still had the coat
hanger in my shirt. I couldn't straighten my arms out.
It was the most painful thing ever. I could not
extend my arms. I was like, this is miserable.

Speaker 2 (01:06:41):
I remember the first time I seriously worked out waking
up out of my sleep in pain. Like I couldn't
even sleep.

Speaker 1 (01:06:48):
I wasn't even doing anything. I wasn't even moving. Ease
into it, people.

Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
Just ease it.

Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
The JV Show on Wild 94.9.

Speaker 2 (01:06:55):
Wild 94.9, the Bay's number one hit music station. The
JV Show here. I'm Selena.

Speaker 1 (01:06:59):
I'm Graham.

Speaker 2 (01:07:00):
And I'm Jess. Before we get to our meeting in
the ladies' room, and I guess this new way women
are punishing their husbands, I guess you can say. Jess
has details on that. Before we get to that, though,
a couple of things that we were just talking about.
uh what was the the guy the san francisco glizzy.

Speaker 3 (01:07:15):
The glizzy gobbler the official glizzy gobbler he rode to
10 costcos in the bay area bike on his bike
100 miles and ate a hot dog at each one
of them he said it cost six dollars or 16
dollars and 50 cents roughly to complete the challenge and
we're like wait costco dogs are a dollar 50 and
he went to 10 of them that's 15 i don't
think yeah the math ain't math in here.

Speaker 1 (01:07:34):
Good morning jamie show it's ricky from fremont I just
want to let you guys know that it's $ 1.

Speaker 9 (01:07:39):
50 but plus tax, so it's like $ 1.

Speaker 6 (01:07:40):
62 each.

Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
Not that I go there often.

Speaker 1 (01:07:46):
Sounds like we have a rival.

Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
Glizzy gobbler on our hands here.

Speaker 1 (01:07:50):
Yes, you guys were idiots. We forgot about the tacks
on there.

Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
Sometimes we say stuff up here. Just know we are idiots.
So that's just we don't always think of the correct answer.

Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
The other thing we were talking about, your son, Graham,
wants to be the strongest man in the world.

Speaker 3 (01:08:05):
He started working out yesterday and today he can barely
move because he's so sore.

Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
Graham, it's so funny.

Speaker 10 (01:08:10):
Reggie has been doing the same thing as Ford. Bear
crawling through the house, fox jumping onto his bed, sprinting
hills at Alston Park, lifting little weights, and then whimpering
in the morning like he's just been completely thrown like
a sack of potatoes.

Speaker 2 (01:08:25):
Keep it up, Ford.

Speaker 10 (01:08:26):
Reggie's with you.

Speaker 1 (01:08:27):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
Let's go, Reggie. Come on. I love this little thing, though.
It's so adorable.

Speaker 1 (01:08:31):
We're all getting in shape. Let's go. But, yeah, be
aware of the next day's soreness. It is a real thing.

Speaker 2 (01:08:36):
All right. Can we talk about bedazzled jail?

Speaker 1 (01:08:48):
What is that?

Speaker 8 (01:08:49):
So, you know, men, they're always leaving their stuff everywhere.
We hear ladies complain about it all the time. Like
he won't put stuff back where it belongs, even though
it has its place.

Speaker 7 (01:08:59):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
They do this all the time.

Speaker 8 (01:09:01):
Well one woman is sharing what she does when her
husband leaves his stuff everywhere she said you know if
he leaves his keys where they don't belong or his
utility knife whatever it is It goes straight to bedazzle jail.

Speaker 2 (01:09:16):
Which is?

Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
Which is what? Wait, question.

Speaker 2 (01:09:18):
Do most men carry a utility knife?

Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
You don't have a utility knife? No. Do you, Graham?

Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
I have three of them on my belt loop right
now just in case I need them.

Speaker 2 (01:09:26):
Like, actually, do you have one?

Speaker 1 (01:09:28):
No, but I used to.

Speaker 9 (01:09:29):
Why?

Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
Like, for what? What would you... Did you ever need
to use it for something?

Speaker 1 (01:09:33):
You never know. Like, it had the little scissors that
came out of there. It had the knife part. You
need to.

Speaker 3 (01:09:38):
you know do something with that and it also had
the bottle opener you know you got to crack a
beer it had everything in there there was a there
was a utility knife era i.

Speaker 8 (01:09:45):
Feel like i do have a friend that always carries
his really yeah i think that's a thing for guys
that is so weird it's.

Speaker 1 (01:09:53):
Kind of like you need to stab someone oh just
got it.

Speaker 8 (01:09:56):
Ready but i feel like they have their keys and
their utility knife and that like goes hand in hand
they just carry everywhere like.

Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
You have your little key chains and stuff like that
guys put a utility knife little pocket knife on there
sometimes Okay.

Speaker 12 (01:10:08):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
Okay.

Speaker 11 (01:10:09):
He just asked.

Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
Just asked. Okay. Well, you don't want it to go
to bedazzled jail.

Speaker 8 (01:10:14):
And that is when this woman said she'll find, you know,
stuff lying around the house that her husband leaves behind.
She'll pull out all of her rhinestones and she'll bedazzle
whatever he left behind.

Speaker 1 (01:10:26):
Oh, she sticks them on there. Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
She sticks. She bedazzles the whole thing. You know, she
has her rhinestones and her glue ready to go. And....

Speaker 8 (01:10:34):
She puts it back into his belongings for him to
find the next day at work or wherever he's going
to be at.

Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
Because she's like, maybe this will show you.

Speaker 1 (01:10:43):
Teach him a lesson.

Speaker 6 (01:10:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:10:44):
If you don't want to be walking around with your
keys bedazzled or your utility knife bedazzled or.

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
Whatever it is that you leave behind. Here you go.
Oh my God, that's so cute. Like, you're welcome. Are
you going to thank your wife for bedazzling yourself and
making it cuter?

Speaker 1 (01:10:57):
No, nobody wants anything bedazzled.

Speaker 3 (01:10:59):
There was a brief time where guys were wearing bedazzled jeans,
you know, with like some rhinestones on the back.

Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
And I was like, no, we are not. You know
what's funny? No, we are not.

Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
That's kind of a thing that's back now. For men?

Speaker 1 (01:11:11):
No. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
No, I've seen it.

Speaker 1 (01:11:13):
No, yeah, no, yeah. The rhinestones are back on men's jeans.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
On some jeans, yeah. Not just jeans, on shirts too.
I've seen it lately.

Speaker 1 (01:11:21):
I'm out on that.

Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
Because all of that like a lot of the Ed
Hardy's and the Von Dutch and stuff that's back in
a lot of their stuff is like you know rhinestone-y.
I don't know if I see like grown men wearing
it but a lot of like teenagers. Well I've seen
a lot of.

Speaker 8 (01:11:37):
Rappers get called out for it or a lot of
talk on social media being like really guys like we're
wearing rhinestones now like leave that for the ladies.

Speaker 2 (01:11:46):
And then I went to Shoe Palace like a few
months ago.

Speaker 8 (01:11:49):
And they had a ton of Like, clothes for guys,
and it had, like, rhinestones everywhere.

Speaker 6 (01:11:55):
Cute.

Speaker 2 (01:11:55):
It's very 90s. Yeah, I love it.

Speaker 1 (01:11:58):
There was a Giants player, Aubrey Huff.

Speaker 3 (01:12:00):
He used to come into the bar that I worked at,
and he would wear, like, those true religion jeans or whatever,
and they'd have the bedazzled.

Speaker 1 (01:12:07):
Like, back pockets, you know, on them or whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:12:09):
And you, I just, the biggest eye roll, I'm like,
you are the world's biggest douche canoe.

Speaker 1 (01:12:15):
Like, come on. What are we doing?

Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
Do you think that just about guys wearing it?

Speaker 1 (01:12:19):
Or girls, too?

Speaker 5 (01:12:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:12:20):
Because I love bedazzled stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:12:21):
Girls, I don't care. Girls fashion, ladies fashion is totally
different than the guys.

Speaker 1 (01:12:25):
But I'm not putting... You will never catch me in
a pair of bedazzled jeans.

Speaker 2 (01:12:29):
I can't even imagine.

Speaker 1 (01:12:30):
Never. Never. I like them.

Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
I think it's cute. I mean, there's some people who
I think could pull it off, Graham. It doesn't go
with you.

Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
You know what I mean? So I think... I'm so thankful.
That's the world's biggest compliment. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
On the bedazzling, obviously, I know most men don't want
their things bedazzled. Right. But how do you feel about like,
and Graham, I know you already know the answer. You
don't like keychains. This is something I struggle with because
I know like, Graham, like you and your wife, you
guys have your own cars. Like in my household, our
cars are just like interchangeable. It's not like my car.

Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
It's communal.

Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
My car.

Speaker 9 (01:13:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
It's like we just, we drive. Right. we just drive
whichever car we need at the time, you know, depending on,
you know, size and car seats or whatever. And so
I always want to get like cute little key chains,
but I'm always really hesitant to, because my husband also
will be driving that car and having those keys. So
the car, I think he's doing drop-offs right now in
like the, the, keychain the car he's using like there's

(01:13:29):
a hello kitty keychain on it knock it off but
like i just i couldn't help it i had to
get it at the hello kitty cafe and he never
said anything about it so i just left it there.

Speaker 3 (01:13:37):
I mean you got to keep in mind though that
you ladies can toss those keys into your purse or
your bag or whatever it is right we have to
put them in our pocket and you put these big
lumpy keychain things this fluff ball thing now i gotta
stuff that into my jeans front pocket everyone can see
it So cute.

Speaker 8 (01:13:52):
You should take it a step further and add one
of those like fuzzy covers to the steering wheel.

Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
Yeah, that's another thing. I see people with like the
cute like rhinestone license plates.

Speaker 7 (01:14:02):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:14:02):
The bedazzled license plate cover.

Speaker 1 (01:14:04):
Car lashes.

Speaker 2 (01:14:05):
I can never do any of that.

Speaker 3 (01:14:07):
Do that if it's your car that you drive exclusively.
But if it's a shared community property, please don't do that.

Speaker 1 (01:14:12):
Dang it.

Speaker 3 (01:14:12):
What's the thing, because this woman is punishing her husband
who's leaving stuff around the house, doesn't put stuff away,
and so she bedazzles it as punishment. Selena, in your household,
I feel like it's just your man's undies that get
left around. Because you've told us before that you pick
them up off the ground and smell them to see
if they're clean or not.

Speaker 2 (01:14:28):
Bro, my kids are listening. Like, why are you saying that?

Speaker 1 (01:14:30):
You said it. You're talking about doing the laundry. Just
to see if they're clean or not. Would you bedazzle
his undies then? Maybe you should put them in the hamper.

Speaker 2 (01:14:37):
Listen. But then what if he likes it and then
he continues to wear.

Speaker 1 (01:14:41):
The bedazzled jersey?

Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
I don't know. I don't think he would like that.
The reason I've never gotten into bedazzling, my daughter's begged
me for like a bedazzling kit. Which, I mean, maybe
I'll get it for her. But like, it takes forever
to do.

Speaker 7 (01:14:51):
It does.

Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
Like, who has time for this? This woman who's bedazzling
all her husband's stuff. Like, you just have hours and
hours to sit there.

Speaker 1 (01:14:57):
Yeah, it's more like.

Speaker 2 (01:14:58):
A punishment for you, I guess, in the end.

Speaker 8 (01:15:00):
Because I started bedazzling a jersey probably three years ago.

Speaker 1 (01:15:03):
You look like somebody that would bedazzle a jersey.

Speaker 2 (01:15:04):
It's taken you three years. Yeah, and it's just bedazzling
the numbers on it.

Speaker 1 (01:15:09):
What number? Is that player even still on the team?

Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
Probably not. I think it was an old school jersey.
Maybe I'll finish in a few years.

Speaker 1 (01:15:17):
A three-year bedazzling project.

Speaker 3 (01:15:19):
We'll check in in another three years to see if
you've finished.

Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
Do you guys remember when bedazzling was a thing?

Speaker 7 (01:15:23):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:15:26):
Also unnecessary.

Speaker 2 (01:15:27):
And that was Bedazzle Talk on the JB Show. Yes,
and today's hot is trending. Today's hottest trending. Coming up next.

Speaker 1 (01:15:37):
Hottest things trending. It's all the stuff you need to know.

Speaker 13 (01:15:42):
What's hot in music, movies, shows, and the most talked
about stories happening today.

Speaker 1 (01:15:47):
In the Bay.

Speaker 2 (01:15:48):
Bro, Kylie Jenner wants another boob job. Okay, so she
was on this podcast. Her besties, you know, they have
their own podcast because everybody, Kardashian adjacent needs... you know, attention.
The podcast is called Better Half with Stas and Vic.
And Kylie was their big guest this week. And Graham,

(01:16:09):
if you ever wondered how girls talk to each other,
just listen to this. You've never heard the word that
rhymes with bits.

Speaker 9 (01:16:19):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:16:20):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:16:21):
More thrown out than this.

Speaker 8 (01:16:23):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
Should we talk about those fat, juicy n * * * *
s you got? Best n * * * * s ever.
I do want them bigger. I'm like, they need to
be bigger and more out there. I want my to
walk in before I do. Lauren, she has like an
obsession with this. Have you have you seen Kylie lately?

(01:16:45):
We posted a picture of her JV morning show. It's
on our Instagram story.

Speaker 6 (01:16:48):
How much?

Speaker 1 (01:16:49):
Bigger. Can you guess? I thought the bazoomers were already bazooming.
They are.

Speaker 2 (01:16:53):
They're bazooming.

Speaker 1 (01:16:54):
Can I ask one other question? Yeah. Did people actually
listen or watch whatever they were? I couldn't.

Speaker 2 (01:16:59):
No, I don't think so. It was bad.

Speaker 1 (01:17:02):
An obsession.

Speaker 2 (01:17:03):
I want my, like, them to, like, walk.

Speaker 1 (01:17:06):
Into the room before me.

Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
I cut out so much.

Speaker 1 (01:17:09):
God! Jeez! That is brutal!

Speaker 2 (01:17:12):
Now, remember, last year, Kylie shared a 445cc moderate profile,
half under the muscle silicone, so... And according to, like,
you can take, you know, the 445ccs there, and that
is already, like, a D or double D, depending on, like,
what you already had prior to work with, and so
to go bigger than that... She already looks so good.

(01:17:33):
I know. But she's going to have some back problems
in the future.

Speaker 1 (01:17:36):
Seriously.

Speaker 2 (01:17:38):
Hey, but her body, her choice, she's going to look amazing.
And she has the money. Regardless, that's also a good point.
Chris Hansen going tit for tat with A24 Studios. So
I told you how primetime, I don't know about you guys,
but it's a movie I'm actually looking forward to. Chris Hansen,
if you don't know from the Catcher Predator TV show

(01:18:00):
back in the day, he has made it very clear
that he is not supportive of this movie that's starring
Robert Pattinson. There's talk that he might even sue Robert
Pattinson for portraying him in the film. I guess he
never signed on for this, and I'm not really sure
how that works now. legally I mean we talked about
the premiere or like a sneak preview of it that

(01:18:20):
he wasn't allowed into or he refused to sign an
NDA or something he was like yeah the studio wanted
me to sign my rights away and I'm not gonna
do that so if he never signed anything I don't
know how they're doing this film um But they're going
back and forth. There's new reports that he is also
going to be purchasing ad space that's going to play
before every showing of the movie to promote his own

(01:18:43):
streaming network where he's doing basically the same thing, Child
Predator Investigations. Okay. He's so obsessed with this movie.

Speaker 1 (01:18:54):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:18:55):
I feel like he's the only one that's mad. A24,
they don't care.

Speaker 7 (01:18:58):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:18:58):
Robert Pattinson doesn't care.

Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
Would you guys watch it? Is it something that you
would go see? I'll wait till it's on streaming.

Speaker 1 (01:19:08):
For a couple years.

Speaker 2 (01:19:09):
Yes.

Speaker 7 (01:19:09):
Really?

Speaker 2 (01:19:09):
I think I would go see it.

Speaker 1 (01:19:11):
Really?

Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
Yeah. I don't know. Just for funsies.

Speaker 1 (01:19:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
Grammy, what do you have? All right.

Speaker 1 (01:19:15):
Bad news, everyone.

Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
The price of toilet paper getting set to surge and
wipe out your wallet.

Speaker 1 (01:19:22):
A little wiping joke.

Speaker 3 (01:19:23):
That's, of course, thanks to the president and his little
trade war that he decided to wage with Canada. He
slapped some tariffs on them, and then they slapped some
retaliatory tariffs right back on us, which doesn't seem like
it should be a big deal for toilet paper because
we manufacture most of the TP we use right here
in the United States, except for one little detail.

Speaker 6 (01:19:39):
What?

Speaker 3 (01:19:39):
Most of the trees and the raw materials that we
make toilet paper out of.

Speaker 1 (01:19:43):
Oh, those come from Canada.

Speaker 5 (01:19:45):
Hmm.

Speaker 3 (01:19:45):
Oh, so the companies that make it here, they're going
to have to charge more. You know, they never eat
the cost. They pass it off to the consumer. So
they're going to start charging you more to make up
that difference. We actually do also import a decent amount
of TP from Canada, over 300 million dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
A year worth.

Speaker 3 (01:20:01):
So that's that toilet paper in particular. If we continue
to import it from Canada, that's going to get cheaper.
A hell of a lot more expensive. Here's a little
interesting fact. The United States, we are the number one
country for taking number twos.

Speaker 2 (01:20:14):
I was going to say, aren't we the only ones
that really use it? Because so many other countries, they
are already on the bidets.

Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
They moved on. A lot of other countries have... agreed
that there is a better system. Globally, we use more
toilet paper than anybody else. The U.S.

Speaker 3 (01:20:29):
Accounts for more than 20% of global TP consumption, despite
having only 4% of the world's population.

Speaker 1 (01:20:35):
That's so embarrassing.

Speaker 3 (01:20:37):
The average American uses 141 rolls of toilet paper per year,
which is just ahead of the Germans.

Speaker 1 (01:20:42):
That's weird. They actually... They average about 134 rolls annually.
141 rolls.

Speaker 3 (01:20:46):
I want to just talk about that for a second.

Speaker 2 (01:20:50):
Is that per household?

Speaker 1 (01:20:51):
No, per person.

Speaker 3 (01:20:52):
The average American uses 141 rolls of toilet paper per year.
By my calculations, that's about two and three quarter rolls
a week.

Speaker 1 (01:21:01):
Where are you guys? How many rolls of toilet paper
do you think you guys use a week? Do you
think you use one?

Speaker 2 (01:21:07):
Maybe, maybe, maybe one.

Speaker 1 (01:21:09):
A week.

Speaker 2 (01:21:10):
Between me and my husband who like, I'd say less
than one.

Speaker 3 (01:21:14):
I mean, you got some nose blows and you have
some colon blows, of course.

Speaker 1 (01:21:18):
Some days, you know, they use more than others. But yeah,
I don't think I come anywhere near the two and
three quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
That's a little excessive.

Speaker 1 (01:21:26):
Seems like it would hurt.

Speaker 8 (01:21:27):
Are people going to be like rushing to the stores
to stock up before it goes up or it's.

Speaker 2 (01:21:31):
Already going up?

Speaker 3 (01:21:32):
The tariffs have not, at least from the Canadian side,
those don't go into effect until September 8th.

Speaker 1 (01:21:38):
So maybe you got some time to stock up before.

Speaker 2 (01:21:40):
Oh, my God. Because if I have to go down
to one ply, I'm going to lose it.

Speaker 1 (01:21:43):
No, you cannot. Talk about painful.

Speaker 7 (01:21:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:21:46):
No, thank you.

Speaker 12 (01:21:48):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:21:48):
Thank you, Graham. Coming up next on The JV Show,
we have your chance to win a trip to Vegas
for our iHeartRadio Music Festival.

Speaker 1 (01:21:55):
The JV Show on Wild 94.9.

Speaker 5 (01:21:57):
Hey, yo.

Speaker 1 (01:21:57):
Good morning, JV Show. This is Danny calling out of Brentwood.
I just want to.

Speaker 7 (01:22:03):
Give a shout-out to my sisters, Drea, out there in coma.
She just got herself a nice little whip, and I
just want to congratulate her.

Speaker 1 (01:22:14):
Going through all she's going through, you got this, girl.
And I hope everyone has a good weekend, JV Show. And,
you know, let's go, 49ers. Bang, bang, bang.

Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
There it is.

Speaker 3 (01:22:28):
Yeah, Niners Raiders tonight. Final game of the preseason in
Las Vegas. And shout out to his sister.

Speaker 1 (01:22:34):
He said, Drea? Yup, and Colma. Shout out.

Speaker 2 (01:22:36):
Got you a new whip.

Speaker 1 (01:22:38):
She got herself a new whip.

Speaker 11 (01:22:40):
Who gives a fuck?

Speaker 2 (01:22:40):
Tell me, I want to know what kind you left
out those details.

Speaker 1 (01:22:43):
Oh, yeah, good point, good point.

Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
By the way, we're the JV Show. I'm Selena.

Speaker 1 (01:22:46):
I'm Brim.

Speaker 2 (01:22:46):
And I'm Jess.

Speaker 9 (01:22:47):
Good morning, JV Show. This is Sarah. I wanted to
give a huge shout out to you guys. I listen
to you every morning. And I wanted to give a
huge thank you because I won tickets to the Chris
Brown Usher concert tomorrow. I just want to also shoot
my shot because my daughter's been sick for the last week.
And I've had to take time off work, drive her
to appointments. and get medicine and my wallet's been real
tight i want to see if you guys would sponsor

(01:23:07):
me um maybe for a drink and some merch uh
you guys are the greatest and i hope you have
a great day you guys.

Speaker 1 (01:23:14):
Want me to handle this one or you want i'll
handle it wait.

Speaker 2 (01:23:16):
We got.

Speaker 3 (01:23:20):
Wait, no, I don't want to sound heartless, but let
me just figure out what she said. Appreciate you leaving
that talk back and listening. She said she won tickets
to the Chris Brown Usher concert tomorrow, which is awesome.
And so it sounds like we hooked her up with
tickets to the show. But she would also like some
money for some drinks and some merch. Am I hearing
that correct? Just to make sure. Because I want to
make sure I'm shooting.

Speaker 2 (01:23:40):
Yes, that's what she. Yeah, she would like a sponsor.

Speaker 1 (01:23:46):
Jess, do you want to sponsor her for some?

Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
I need some sponsoring, too.

Speaker 1 (01:23:50):
Got it. Okay, well, have fun at the show, though.

Speaker 2 (01:23:52):
Look, we already gave you the tickets.

Speaker 1 (01:23:54):
Like, dang, come on.

Speaker 2 (01:23:56):
Take us down for everything we got.

Speaker 1 (01:23:57):
Hold on. Just a little bit of merch.

Speaker 9 (01:23:59):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:24:00):
We got to get our own merch, too.

Speaker 1 (01:24:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:24:03):
I'm not even going to buy merch because it's always
so expensive. And the line is hella long. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:24:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
But you will have a lot of fun in that part.
I do love for you. Man, we got a lot
of talkbacks this morning.

Speaker 1 (01:24:14):
Good morning, guys.

Speaker 7 (01:24:14):
It's Edgar without the haircut. I like to think of
myself as a toilet paper expert, and I like to
do my research. And something funny popped up on my
research page about toilet paper. Your studio uses the most
toilet paper in the Bay Area around the 9 o'clock hour.

Speaker 1 (01:24:33):
Why is that?

Speaker 7 (01:24:34):
Who's in the bathroom so much around that time?

Speaker 1 (01:24:37):
Hmm. Jess, why do you have a sad face on?
You guys are so mean.

Speaker 2 (01:24:42):
Well, we're not mean. By the way, this is a
toilet paper discussion because prices are going up. We're beefing
with Canada.

Speaker 1 (01:24:48):
Turns out we get.

Speaker 2 (01:24:49):
you know, toilet paper trees from there. They grow toilet
paper trees.

Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
Yeah, they grow the toilet paper trees that we make
our toilet paper out of and the United States is
the number one global consumer of toilet paper.

Speaker 2 (01:24:57):
Why the spike in the 9 a.m. hour?

Speaker 1 (01:24:59):
Yeah, I can't figure that out.

Speaker 8 (01:25:00):
You guys have started this rumor that I don't like.

Speaker 1 (01:25:03):
What?

Speaker 8 (01:25:03):
I don't want to be known as the person that
does that because that's so.

Speaker 2 (01:25:07):
gross well.

Speaker 3 (01:25:08):
The problem is like during the nine o'clock hour sometimes
you know with you know we come out of a
song and selena's like i'm selena and i'm grabbing then
like you're not there so we can only theorize that
maybe something else is going on like maybe it's a
stomach issue or something like that and.

Speaker 8 (01:25:20):
We just we just have to speculate i thought we
were friends i didn't know you were gonna join in
with these two liars over here that's that my heart
is broken edgar.

Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
You just put us in a tough spot sometimes because
then we have to fill that silence. Like when your
voice doesn't pop in, they're like, uh, we get nervous.
And obviously our brains default to the simplest possible thing,
which is toilet humor.

Speaker 2 (01:25:40):
You should be better because we're immature. What do you
expect from us?

Speaker 1 (01:25:44):
I know. So I mean, I blame you.

Speaker 8 (01:25:46):
I could stay in the studio until 10 a.m. But
then the podcast won't be up until noon, if that's OK.

Speaker 2 (01:25:56):
Well, let me let me. Can I ask a question?
Just don't be upset. Are you upset?

Speaker 1 (01:26:01):
No. Her face says otherwise. Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:26:03):
And I've been lucky enough to be in a position
where I've never had to post the podcast. So I
know it's a lot of tedious work, Jess. But Graham,
you had to do it before.

Speaker 1 (01:26:12):
Mm-hmm.

Speaker 2 (01:26:13):
Yeah, you... were on the air and how long did
it take you to post the podcast after that like
what around what time would it get up like.

Speaker 1 (01:26:19):
Not long it was always up by like 10 or 5.

Speaker 8 (01:26:21):
Right but like but like i have to be going
from one studio to the other it's not like i
have my computer and i can be downloading them here
at the same time.

Speaker 3 (01:26:30):
I had to go from one studio to another we
had a production different production studio i had to go
from one studio to the other but okay Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:26:36):
Why are we comparing?

Speaker 1 (01:26:37):
Wait, that doesn't make.

Speaker 2 (01:26:39):
It okay, though. I'm not, you know. Here's the thing.
We just play a lot on the show. No, I
know that's fine. I'm not like butthurt or whatever. I'm
just saying it's a lie. It's a lie.

Speaker 1 (01:26:53):
It's not a lie.

Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
I have to clear the air. It's a joke. Clear
the air.

Speaker 12 (01:26:59):
But I have to.

Speaker 2 (01:27:00):
Bring in the Febreze. I have to make sure people.

Speaker 8 (01:27:03):
Know it's a joke because I don't like when it
gets to like, oh, people commenting things on social media
because then other people who aren't JV show listeners, they
see that and they're like, They think it's true.

Speaker 3 (01:27:16):
So why are you just casting all the IBS JV
show listeners into the shadows and saying they should be
ashamed of what they've got? Why don't you stand proud
in solidarity and have a march down to City Hall
today at 1 p.m.? Well, actually, you guys might.

Speaker 1 (01:27:28):
Be in the bathroom. It's a good point. Not at 1.

Speaker 2 (01:27:30):
I just feel like we've all we've all fallen victim
to jokes and, you know, play rumors around here, like
the fact that I'm so cheap. I only drink boxed
wine or I hate dogs or whatever.

Speaker 1 (01:27:39):
That's all true. It's not. It's actually not.

Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
Really? But I just, you know, I roll with it.

Speaker 9 (01:27:44):
I know.

Speaker 8 (01:27:44):
Well, I roll with it, too, you know, but I
just have to clear. I just have to make sure.

Speaker 2 (01:27:48):
Bring in the Fabetis.

Speaker 8 (01:27:50):
I have to make sure that people know.

Speaker 2 (01:27:52):
What's that spray that you spray before? What is that called?
I can't think of it right now.

Speaker 1 (01:27:56):
You know what I'm talking about?

Speaker 2 (01:27:58):
Yeah, Poo-Pourri.

Speaker 1 (01:27:59):
Poo-Pourri. Is that what it's called?

Speaker 7 (01:28:00):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:28:01):
Okay, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:28:01):
Bring in that, too.

Speaker 8 (01:28:02):
The podcast will be up at 3 p.m.

Speaker 9 (01:28:04):
Today.

Speaker 8 (01:28:04):
Man, you're going to be in the bathroom a while.

Speaker 2 (01:28:10):
I hate you guys. I'm leaving. Bye. We love you, Jess.

Speaker 1 (01:28:14):
All right. The JV Show on Wild 94.9.
