As he does in different ways throughout history, God has made the Church his people and his dwelling place.

The Proverbs offer us wisdom on relationships with friends, enemies, neighbors, and the poor.

Although the whole book of Proverbs is instruction for children, it also contains practical instruction for parents about how to raise their children wisely.

The Proverbs are both idealistic and realistic about marriage, showing us how it should be and helping us to get there.

While wealth comes from generosity, diligence, and careful living, it has its limitations and dangers but can be used to create eternal wealth for ourselves and others.

Proverbs warns Christians about the dangers of drunkenness and gluttony and instructs us to have self-control. Ultimately, Christ in his perfect self-control accomplished our salvation.

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under the might hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you" (1 Peter 5:6).

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits."

"Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life."

In the Proverbs, two women invite us to dine with them and embrace them, Lady Wisdom and Woman Folly.

If we are going to learn wisdom, we need to start with the fear of the LORD, which is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge.

The abrupt ending of Acts after Paul's arrival in Rome leaves us thinking about the growth of the gospel and where it goes from here.

As God granted safety to all Paul's fellow passengers, so God grants eternal safety to all those who are connected to Jesus by faith.

In his defense before King Agrippa, Paul emphasized the importance of the resurrection and the need for everyone to believe in Jesus and live in keeping with repentance.
