The sign above his hospital bed called him Sixty-Six Garage. For more than 15 years, he would lay there unidentified and unconscious. Or so, everyone believed. From L.A. Times Studios and the team that brought you “Dirty John” and “Man in the Window,” comes “Room 20,” a story about the search for a man’s identity and the truth about his accident. Investigative reporter Joanne Faryon’s two-year journey is filled with twists and turns. Now, she'll finally reveal who Garage really is. But one important question remained for her upon this discovery: has Garage been conscious this entire time? This series was produced by L.A. Times Studios with support from Neon Hum Media.

Episode 1: Reporter Joanne Faryon quits her job to find out what happened to a man known as Sixty-Six Garage. After spending six days with him in his nursing home room, she starts to question whether he’s actually in a vegetative state, like she was first told.
Episode 2: An old newspaper article provides clues to Garage’s accident, but many of the details turn out to be false. Faryon finds the accident report that everyone believed was destroyed years ago, and it becomes her roadmap in solving Garage’s mystery.
Episode 3: Sixty-Six Garage gets a new roommate - Omar Salgado - a young cyclist hit by a car on a highway. He’s unconscious and near death. There’s a major breakthrough in identifying Garage - will he recognize his name?
Episode 4: Sixty-Six Garage is identified and Faryon tracks down another man in the same accident as Garage. She learns what really caused the crash and begins to suspect authorities might have known Garage’s identity since the day of the accident.
Episode 5: The nursing home director contacts Garage’s family to break the news of his medical condition. Faryon travels to Ohio to learn what led Garage to the California desert in the summer of 1999. Garage celebrates his birthday for the first time in 17 years.
Episode 6: Omar, the roommate, speaks and Garage sees his sister for the first time since he was a teenager. Faryon learns she is not responsible for her mother’s death and convinces a world expert on diagnosing consciousness to test Garage. She’s finally able to answer the question she had when she first met Garage - is he still in there?
