The Jigana government sucks. Suit ofhappiness radios do us Liberty and freedom will
make you smile of a suit ofhappiness us on your radio toil just as
cheeseburgers a libery rise at the suitof Happy Earth Day, Happy Passover,

(00:27):
and we hope you had a safeand happy four to twenty over the weekend.
You know, it's an interesting thingabout that four twenty in passover often
coincide with one another. It's probablyjust a coincidence, But what if it's
not. What if the fact thatfour twenty in passover seem to fall right
around the same time of the yearevery year explains why Moses and his people

(00:48):
walk through the desert for forty years, just wandering around in a pair of
sandals. Hi, I'm Kenny Webster. Thanks for turning on your radio.
We're gonna give you all the latesttoday. I'm the Trump hush money trial
involving Hornstar Stormy Daniels and a newlaw in Texas that might actually punish district
attorneys for not doing their job.If this is true, that would mean,

(01:11):
theoretically, we might be able tokick Sewan Tier out of office before
he even has a chance to unpackhis stuff here in Harris County. I
say that in jest, but onlya little bit. Hey, before we
get to any of that, let'stalk about Bidenomics. We're being told that
Bidenomics is working and inflations under controland it is just amazing. Yet then
we see these articles about shoppers inAmerica paying wait for it, wait for

(01:34):
it, seven dollars for an apple, seven dollars for an a. It's
hard to make peace with the narrative. The current administration is trying to convince
it's populace of what people are payingseven dollars for an apple. Now,
to be fair, this was avery special apple purchased. I can't It's
hard to say it without laughing.Somebody went into a Whole Foods on the

(01:56):
Upper East Coast, a TikTok influencer, and bought what is being referred to
as a sugar free apple. Thewoman on TikTok said, literally, just
did grocery shopping at Whole Foods andlook at this. Guess how much that
says. This is an apple. It's called a sugar a sugar bee apple.
I'm sorry, I thought it wasa sugar free apple. A sugar
beefing apple. She says the Fword, a lot of swear words in

(02:17):
this video. That's why I'm notplaying the audio and look at it.
I would have fought two or threedollars, No seven dollars. And then
she swears a lot the user onTikTok, which I'm not on TikTok.
The video went viral on other platforms, very angry as she made the expensive
purchase and went on social media totalk about it. And so the video

(02:38):
featured her removing an apple from abag outside an unnamed Whole Food store somewhere
in the Massachusetts area. Now,Whole Food's website prices the organic sugar be
apple at three p ninety nine perpound in that particular part of the country,
and rates can differ by location.Apparently, she added, genuinely,
what economy are we all fing livingwhen it costs seven dollars to buy an

(03:01):
apple? Well, ma'am, youget what you vote for. Do you
remember back during the pandemic when reallyboring guys like Rand Paul and Thomas Massey
or Mike Lee warned to you thatprinting out money with no backing on it
was gonna have consequences and handing outchecks to people COVID stimulus checks for staying

(03:21):
home and not working. That thatcould have long term consequences as well.
Well. That's why a seven dollarsapple costs seven dollars even more insane when
you realize that that's almost an entirehour of labor for some people in America
right now. Imagine working an entirehour in exchange for one single apple.

(03:42):
Now, to be fair, youdon't have to go to Whole Foods.
That's one of the cool things aboutbeing an American. You could shop it
old. You could shop at TraderJoe's, you can go to HB you
can go to Randalls, you cango to Walmart, or you can go
to Whole Foods. But somebody doeschoose to go to Whole Foods, and
sometimes Whole Foods is the only thingthat's around. And good lord. If
an apple cost seven dollars, whatmust a house cost? Right now?

(04:05):
The already insane cost of purchasing ahome has hit a new high thanks to
the ongoing horror show that is Bidenomics. A report today at Breitbart dot Com
details the combination of steep mortgage ratesand elevated home prices has pushed the median
monthly home monthly housing payment to arecord twenty seven hundred dollars a month,

(04:27):
an eleven percent increase from the sametime last year. There are a number
of driving forces behind the affordability crisis. Years of underbuilding fueled a shortage of
homes in the country, a problemthat was later exacerbated by the rapid rise
and mortgage rates and expensive construction materials. That's what the report claims. Can
I add something to that? Backduring the pandemic, people were going out

(04:49):
buying houses like crazy because they couldn'tgo on vacation that year. It's okay,
we normally we'd go on a skitrip, we'd go to Hawaii,
but we can't do that, sowe're going to buy an house this year.
And what happened to the cost ofhousing. It went up considerably well,
the cost of everything else went uptoo. And then a few years

(05:10):
later you found yourself unable to paythe cost of that, you know,
your monthly mortgage rate, simply becausenow you can't also afford groceries. Now
you know what's inevitably gonna happen soon, guys, right, layoffs layoff.
Inflation will only last as long asconsumers can tolerate the high cost of goods,

(05:30):
and then the crash happens, andthen the layoffs happen. And let's
not forget another driving force, JoeBiden opening up our southern border to millions
and millions of illegal immigrants who directlycompete with citizens and legal immigrants for housing.
Mortgage buyer Freddie Mack said last weekthat the average rate on a thirty
year loan this week crossed the sevenpercent threshold for the first time. While

(05:54):
that is down from a peak sevenpoint seven nine percent last fall, it
remained sharply higher than the pandemic eralows of just three percent. To give
you an idea of how this works, let's say you take out a thirty
year mortgage today for three hundred thousanddollars. At seven point one percent,
Your monthly mortgage payment will be abouttwenty one hundred dollars. At the end
of those thirty years, you willhave paid back three hundred thousand dollars plus

(06:17):
four hundred twenty six thousand dollars ininterest. Thanks to Joe Biden, that
is a three hundred thousand dollars loan, and it now costs you seven hundred
and twenty six thousand dollars. Getit. When Trump left office in January
twenty twenty one, the average thirtyyear mortgage was two point six So using
the Trump mortgage rate, let's dothe same math on that three hundred thousand

(06:38):
dollars loan that would have cost fourhundred thirty five thousand dollars as opposed to
seven hundred and twenty six thousand dollars. You know what we're doing right now.
We're being racist because math is racist. But thanks to Joe Biden,
you are paying close to nine hundreddollars more monthly on your mortgage and most
importantly, paying two hundred ninety thousanddollars more in interest over thirty years.

(06:58):
Imagine how extra nine hundred dollars amonth could improve your standard of living.
Imagine how that two hundred and ninetythousand dollars in Bidenomics is forcing you to
flush down the toilet and interest paymentsactually could have benefited your retirement savings or
paying off your college tuition. Andthen imagine how much worse inflation is going
to be if Joe Biden actually doesmove forward despite the Supreme Court telling Emmy

(07:23):
can't and printing out more money withno backing to pay off student loans.
Joe Biden is the only one atfault for these insane interest rates and the
fact that it costs more to buya home today than any other time in
history. Joe Biden chose to spendtrillions of dollars on unnecessary federal funds,
which cheapen the dollar, created inflation, and then doubled interest rates. Joe

(07:45):
Biden chose to kill domestic energy production, which increased the cost of energy needed
to produce, or transport or storealmost every good and service that you enjoy.
Guess what That translates to higher prices. It translates to inflation, translates
it translates to higher interest rates.Joe Biden chose to open the border,
and we already explain why that's aproblem. What's more, as the report

(08:09):
points out, there is a lackof churn in the housing market because potential
sellers who locked in a record lowmortgage rate of three percent or less have
been reluctant to sell, and thatlimits supply further and leaves very few options
for people who have to buy. What if you're moving. The fewer homes
open up for sale, the higherthe demand for homes, which means higher
costs. The only good news isthat these high interest rates are great for

(08:33):
those of us at a certain agewho invest in things like CDs and money
markets. We're finally getting a decentreturn of five plus percent. The smartest
thing want to be home buyers cando in the situation is the following.
Stop voting for Democrats. Move toa red state if possible, move to
a small town. Purchase a homethat needs a lot of work. These

(08:56):
are even cheaper. You could dothe renovations yourself, pay your mortgage office
as you can put every extra dollartoward getting out from under that loan.
And the reason I know this works, folks, is because, like a
lot of you, me and myfamily members have done this. Imagine that
Kenny has always thought the best thingsin life are free, free plus tax.

(09:18):
Of course, Kenny Webster's pursuit ofhappiness. Biden's favorite district attorney,
Alvin Bragg's star witness today against DonaldTrump in the hush money trial involving porn

(09:41):
star Stormy Daniels is David Pecker.I know, go ahead everybody, let
merit go, let its sit in. David Pecker, that's the guy,
David, I know it's okay.David Pecker is the guy who, first
of all, last name is Pecker. His organization had to settle numerous lawsuits

(10:03):
over the years for publishing lies. He's kind of a known liar. He's
a tabloid guy. Right, Andthe evidence that led a grand jury of
US citizens do indict Trump and thirtyfour felony counts of falsifying business records probably
not the probably not the best evidencewe had available. Right at the end

(10:28):
of the day, in this wholecase is really only happening because Trump is
running for president. I mean, that's it. They decided that Donald Trump,
that the DOJ and the O isat the SEC. They already investigated
this and they didn't have anything. They couldn't even come up with a misdemeanor.
But Alvin Bragg thinks we have whatis it? What did he say?

(10:50):
Thirty four felonies? Unlikely? SoPecker's going to testify, and Pecker's
testify, his testimony will be it'llkeep growing. Pecker's testimony will keep growing,
and he's he's going to try tostick it to Trump. But I
bet upon cross examination, Pecker willshrivel up, and then Pecker is going
to know that the balls are inhis court as he walks into the courtroom.

(11:13):
I think mouths will be agape asPecker appears in the courtroom, forcing
his way inside the hearing. Peckeris really going to screw Trump. I'll
see myself out. But you know, that's what's happening today. This guy,
David Pecker, the first witness.Obviously Pecker is going to be out
in front. I don't know whypeople were shocked about that. So the

(11:35):
latest on this the opening statements complete, the trial forging ahead to its first
witness. Go ahead, go ahead, insert Pecker joke here. Pecker won't
be on the stand for long. It's a short amount of Pecker. Today's
court session is expected to end early. I think it ended just a little
bit ago to accommodate an appointment thatone of the alternate jurors must attend.

(11:56):
So Pecker will likely come back tomorrowto continue his testimony and detail how the
National Inquirer helped Trump's twenty sixteen presidentialcampaign by burying negative stories, or so
they claim. And that's the bigcase today, Well, the latest on
this Where are we here? Igot up, I got up to the

(12:18):
minute information about David Packer. DavidPacker completed his testimony around noon Eastern time,
and he was dismissed from the stand, So he'll come back tomorrow.
Trump's lawyer Hubba Hubba Alena Hubba, spoke to reporters just for briefly as the
court took a short recess. Shecalled the former president's trial a disgrace to

(12:39):
the American judicial system. Alina says, the fact that we have two courts,
not one criminal and civil, beingused against one man because they cannot
beat him in the polls is adisgrace to the American judicial system. You
should not have two teams of lawyershere today. You should not have You
should not even be here today becauseyou didn't know. This is the epitome

(13:01):
of a witch hunt. She didnot take any questions for the record.
She's right, Trump's jury trial isgoing to be just as fair as the
Russian collusion investigations or the twenty twentyelection itself. Who are the jurors,
you may wonder, Well, itturns out we have a little information on
them. A salesman originally from Irelandwho follows MSNBC in the New York Times.

(13:28):
He is reportedly set to serve asthe case's foreman. A corporate lawyer
from Oregon who reads Google News. The juror suggested that he could infer the
former president's intent without reading his mind. Huh. A man who works in
finance and follows Michael Cohen, aconvicted liar on social media. The juror
said he believes Trump did some goodfor the nation. Huh. It's a

(13:52):
little curb ball there. I didn'texpect that. And then there's a lawyer
who told the court another jurors,a lawyer who told the court he has
political views as to the Trump presidentand seeing that he agrees with some of
his policies but disagrees with others.Okay, maybe a moderate. Then we
have a product development manager who saidshe did not like Trump's persona and a
female healthcare worker who enjoys faith basedpodcasts. All right, that's interesting.

(14:18):
Here's a juror who is a womanwho works in an educational setting and acknowledge
that because Trump was our president, everyone knows who he is. Doesn't really
mean anything, but it's true. Then there's a businessman who likes to listen
to podcasts on behavioral psychology. Huh, probably a lefty. Another juror is
described as a retired wealth manager whoclaims he has no opinions that would hinder

(14:39):
his ability to be impartial. Oh, could that be true? Uh?
Here's one an engineer who said quotenot no, not really when asked if
he has strong feelings about Trump. That does anybody in existence not have strong
feelings about Trump? There is anEnglish teacher from Harlem who appreciated Trump speaks

(15:00):
his mind. And then the lastjur is a female who works in technology
and relies on the New York Timesand TikTok to get her news. She
said she probably has different beliefs thanTrump, but that this is a free
country. Okay. Two jurors werestruck Thursday. One admitted her inability to
be impartial, and another had apossible history of vandalizing conservative political posters.

(15:24):
The Supreme Court held in nineteen seventyfive case Taylor Versus Louisiana that quote,
the purpose of a jury is toguard against the exercise of arbitrary power,
to make available the common sense judgmentof the community as a hedge against overzellis
or mistaken prosecutors, or a biasedresponse of a judge. Interesting, think

(15:46):
about that, as I tell youabout this, The sixth Amendment was designed
to protect the accused for any arbitrary, capricious trials perpetrated by a weaponized government.
But that sounds like it's exactly whathappening right now. From what we
know of the Manhattan jury pool,it's not clear that these New Yorkers will
be willing to check the government ona case that experts on both sides of

(16:08):
the aisle have called dubious. Trump'slawyer objected to one potential juror who posted
a video of a crowd of peoplecelebrating Biden's twenty twenty victory. Another juror
was excused because of a job conflict, who told reporters outside the courthouse that
while she believes it's important for Trumpto get a fair trial, she did

(16:29):
not approve of what he did aspresident. Hmm. Three New York Times
reporters won Pulitzer Prizes for their reportingon the Russian collusion hoax, and that
is where more than one of thesejurors claimed to get their news that was
all based on anonymous sources, butFBI official Peter Stroke, who ran the
investigation into the alleged collusion, privatelyacknowledged the report was filled with misleading and

(16:52):
inaccurate information. So if these jurorsget their news from the New York Times,
then they're getting it from a placethat knowingly spread false information about the
president. Other jurors cited Google News. Google interfered in elections at least forty
one times over the past sixteen yearsto harm candidates who threatened Google's left wing
candidate of choice, according to astudy from the Media Research Center. In

(17:17):
twenty twenty, corporate media and bigtech suppressed a bombshell report about the Biden
families corrupt foreign business dealings mere weeksbefore the presidential election. You may recall
it related to the president's suns laptop. Have you heard anything about that?
So, No, I don't thinkwe're going to get a fair trial here
for Trump, anymore than we gota fair investigation into Russian collusion, or

(17:41):
any more than the twenty twenty electionresults turned out to be fair. When
I think we all know full wellthis country was filled with people committing ballot
harvesting twenty four hour drive through pollinglocations right here in our own city that
didn't have any Republican witnesses present totell you whether or not people were voting

(18:02):
illegally. You've got vans and busesfilled with crack addicted homeless people being driven
to polling locations to vote for candidatesthey've never even heard of. If that
is how broken our elections are, imagine what this trial's going to be like.
America, the land of taxation thatwas founded to avoid taxation, Kenny

(18:23):
Webster's pursuit of happiness. All right, if you're not keeping up with Speaker
of the House Mike Johnson, youmight want to take a seat. You're
not going to like this. MikeJohnson's foreign aid funding bill passed on Saturday,
and it included a provision in itthat requires the company that owns TikTok

(18:47):
to sell it to an American company. This was a foreign aid bill to
fund war in Ukraine, and forsome reason it include a clause about TikTok.
The House of Representatives voted to approveit very expansive package of foreign and
eight bills, ninety five point threebillion dollars in aid to Israel, Ukraine,

(19:07):
Taiwan. And it was initially fourseparate bills that would be wrapped into
one before advancing to the Senate, and included bills that would have allocated six
point eight billion to Ukraine, fifteenbillion to Israel, nine billion for humanitarian
aid probably Palestine, right, andthen eight billion for Taiwan. But instead

(19:29):
they shoved it all into one billand made it into a package deal with
TikTok. Some of the humanitarian aidwill go to Palestine and the Hamas linked
unwra that's a United nation, that'sa part of you United nations that helped
Hamas attack Israel last October October seventh. And then there's the TikTok ban passed

(19:56):
three hundred and sixty to fifty eight, containing Taiwan aid, Ukraine aid,
and a bundle of Israel. Whywhy is this all part of one thing?
Mike Johnson said, it's not aperfect bill. Well, yeah,
I think that's an understatement. Thebill sucks. Johnson indicated that he is
not concerned with the possibility of amotion to vay hit him from office because

(20:18):
he knows he'll probably if were heto get removed from office, he'd probably
just be replaced by Hakim Jeffrey's theDemocrat. So this afternoon the House acted
and we sent over to the Senateand it will be transmitted shortly, our
supplemental National Security legislation. And makeno mistake, this is not a blank
check like the Senate supplemental bill was. Yes, it is. Okay,

(20:41):
it's not a blank check, butit's a big giant check. He believes
he did the right thing. LindseyGraham is thanking Trump for the money for
Ukraine. Now, this is guys. At no point has Trump said we
need to give money to Ukraine. He's never said that. This is Lindsey
Graham on Fox News over the weekendtrying to rally the neocons and convince Trump

(21:03):
supporters they shouldn't like Trump. It'sa loan component to it. This would
not have passed about Donald Trump.I want to thank the House Speaker and
the King Jefferies working together in abipartisan fashion to give weapons to Ukraine to
buy to fight. That matters tous, and President Trump has created a
loan component to this package. Itgives us leverage down the road. No,
no, he did not. Younever did that, you know,

(21:26):
Ukraine flags were flying inside the Houseof Representatives over the weekend. People will
remember this stuff. People will rememberwhen elections come around again. Is it
too late to Is it too lateto primary Mike Johnson and Louisiana? I
think it might be, is it? I don't know. Jeff Carere at

(21:51):
townhall dot com quoted the Who overthe weekend when describing Mike Johnson. Meet
the new boss, same as theold boss. It happened again. Mike
Johnson was a very promising Republican butjust turned into a deep state operative,
following in the footsteps of John Baynorand Paul Ryan and Kevin McCarthy. You

(22:15):
know, it's hard to believe therewas once a point when all four of
those men were labeled conservatives. Imean, you were probably never passionate about
Kevin McCarthy. But do you remember, for those of you, our older
listeners, do y'all remember when MittRomney picked Paul Ryan as his running mate
in twenty twelve and a lot ofus thought, well, I don't like
Mitt Romney, but at least he'sgot Paul Ryan. And then Paul turned
out to be worse than Mitt.So the same thing has happened to the

(22:41):
current House speaker. That happened toKevin McCarthy and Paul Ryan and John Bayner.
Johnson's change of heart is due toa text bookcase of congressional capture.
With a single briefing, the intelligenceagencies routinely transform their most strident critics into
the tamest of cheerleaders. You getwhat that means. Somebody from the CIA

(23:03):
sat down with Mike Johnson and theysaid, here's the dirt we've got on
you. Here's what we need youto do. As Speaker of the House,
at one time, Johnson was regardedas a staunch supporter of the Mega
movement. His nickname was Maga Mike. As House Speaker, he supported the

(23:25):
horrific Omnibus spending bill, which fullyfunded the FBI and the DOJ. It's
been used to weaponize the government againstTrump and MAGA supporters. Mike Johnson was
the deciding vote in extending the FISApowers that allows our intelligence services to spy

(23:45):
without a warrant. They say it'sonly for non Americans, but we know
that's not true. And Johnson ralliedagainst omnibus spending bills and extending PHIS as
surveillance powers in the past, butin a stunning twist, his position changed
when he became House Speaker. Whydo you think that is Johnson supported a
ninety five billion dollar aid package forUkraine. The bulk of the package was

(24:10):
for Ukraine. A little bit ofit, some crumbs here and there go
to Israel in Taiwan, but that'smostly for Ukraine. We've already given them
hundreds of billions of dollars, morethan the rest of the world combined.
Is that not good enough? MikeJohnson previously opposed that funding, and he

(24:32):
vowed to make sure our border wassecure. But he's spending billions of dollars
to secure the border of another country. And then on Saturday, with the
help of Democrats and a bunch ofneo con Rhinos, Johnson ran through the
foreign aid package and provided zero assistanceto our own border patrol. We are

(24:56):
beyond disappointed with what's going on rightnow in my little circle of the world.
My friends are pissed about this.My family is furious. We're going
to give aid to secure the bordersof foreign countries, but we're giving nothing
to our own. You know,Democrats celebrated the package of the Foreign eight

(25:19):
and the exclusion of border funding.By the way, with Ukrainian flags a
disgusting display, and it just reinforcesthe feeling that every American has towards Congress
right now, that Congress is moreconcerned about foreign nations than American citizens.

(25:40):
A handful of Republicans denounced this outrageousexhibition. Senator Ran Paul said, quote
Ukrainian flags flying in the chamber ofthe United States House of Representatives as they
vote to send more of your hardearned money to a corrupt foreign regime,
and just like that, they shoutUkraine, Ukraine, while happily working to
to cure Ukraine's borders, but notours. Congressman Massey also condemned the Ukrainian

(26:06):
flag celebration, referring to it asthe US House of Representatives under the direction
of Speaker Mike Johnson, Democrats arecelebrating his total capitulation with no victory for
securing our border. It's not agood luck, guys. The optics of
the Ukrainian flag waving it's nauseating.Congresswoman kat Kamak said, if there is

(26:30):
one room in our country that shouldonly have the American flag present, it
is this room, there were onehundred and one Republicans who supported Ukrainian aid.
Almost half of the Republicans and allthe Democrats, the majority of the
House, are supposed to be Republicans. We have the same problem in Texas.

(26:56):
The liberal Rhino Republicans team up withthe Democrats and they overrule with the
Conservatives want shouldn't it be the otherway. Shouldn't the moderate Republicans be working
with the conservative Republicans to find adeal. No, by supporting legislation that
most Republicans oppose, Mike Johnson ispandering to the left, and you start

(27:22):
to wonder why people like Marjorie TaylorGreen of Georgia are proceeding with a motion
to vacate. She says, MikeJohnson betrayed America. He did nothing to
secure our border. He reauthorized Faizat, a spy on Americans without a warrant,
and fully funded Joe Biden's doj whichactually indicted Donald Trump ninety one times.

(27:44):
He gave Biden's political gestapo a brandnew FBI building must be nice.
What does this say to people thatlive in Texas? Do we do we
care that our country is being overrunby millions of non citizens. The deep

(28:06):
stay bought operatives in Congress right now, funding foreign wars, leaving America to
become a dilapidated, decaying ruin ofwhat it once was is really enough to
make your skin crawl. Try toremember these things when you vote in November.
Pursuit of that penis radio. Comein out, spek. This is

(28:30):
Kenny Webster's Pursuit of Happiness on KPRCnine point fifty Houston. I was in
Fredericksburg over the weekend, and Istopped in San Antonio to get a bite
to eat, and I could notbelieve how many homeless people were crawling all
over the place. Right So,that was on the way there, and

(28:52):
then on the way home, Istopped in Austin for a bite to eat,
and I could not believe how manyhomeless people were crawling all over the
place. I'm I live in thebiggest city in Texas. I live in
Houston, Texas. You would havejust assumed this would be where of the
most hoboes and fentanyl and crack addictedhippy is living on the side of the
street. No turns out o thecaseach. It is actually worse than San

(29:17):
Antonio and Austin. Just from myperspective, it's possible that I'm wrong about
that. I don't know. Butlook, with all that happening, with
all that taking place, I gottawonder who's in charge of Travis County right
now. I know San Antonio's BearCounty. But I say all this for
a reason. There's news. Thereis news from the world of Travis County.
Apparently there's a new law in placethat says the district attorney could actually

(29:41):
be removed from office for not doinghis job. Now, I'm guessing this
is a state law. I'm nota lawyer. I just pretend to be
one on the radio sometimes. SoI reached out to one of my buddies,
Brandon Waltons of Texas scorecard dot com. Brandon, what is the latest
from Travis County? Yeah, So, Travis County, as you would expect,
has this District Attorney, Jose Garza, who is a you know,

(30:04):
he's a Soros guy. He's ahe's a far less guy. He was
one of those people out there you'remaking headlines saying that, you know,
I'm not going to prosecute a legalabortions in Travis County. He hasn't prosecuted
a whole host of quote in quoteright, low level crimes, which actually
results in you know what we've seenwhere you have crime rates up in Austin.

(30:26):
You have just just massive, massiveissues in the capital city. Well,
Texas lawmakers last year and it wenta little bit under the radar,
pasted a new law house still seventeenis what it was called. But essentially
what it does. You know, currently there's a process in place by which
district attorneys can be removed from office. It has to go to trial,

(30:48):
there has to be an investigation,et cetera. What this does is it
adds, you know, purposely ignoringand not enforcing laws to that list.
And so, for what I cansee, jose cars is the first person
who's going to be going through thisprocess. Last Friday afternoon, you had
a judge accept a petition that wouldlead to this investigation. The next steps

(31:12):
in this process is that special prosecutorsget be appointed. They're going to investigate,
and if so, they're going tobring it to a civil trial.
So we're just in the first stepsof this process. But I think it's
a good sign that we're seeing howthis is actually going to work because you
know, this is one district attorneyyou know we have here in Travis County.

(31:33):
But there are a lot of theseguys, right There are a lot
of these guys in the big cities, in the big counties that have essentially
said, look, we're not goingto actually do our job. To get
elected on a platform of saying essentiallyI'm not going to prosecute crime, and
it's making our community, specifically inour big cities, very unsafe. Boy,
I had no idea. You know, most people don't realize what the

(31:55):
consequences of these new laws are untilthey go into effect and then you actually
see it in play. It's fascinatinghere in Houston, Texas. I think
everybody knows Kim Ogg probably not goingto get re elected in the fall.
Probably on her way out the door, not conservative enough for the conservatives,
not liberal enough for the liberals. She will probably be replaced by this guy
named Sean Tier. He'll more thanlikely be our new district attorney come November.

(32:19):
Now, Kim Ogg, say whatyou will about her. She actually
investigated Lena Hidalgo, our Harris Countyjudge, and teamed up with the Texas
Rangers to press charges into indict abunch of Lena Hidalgo's staffers on what was
clearly an illegal bid rigging scheme toinfluence federal money from the COVID vaccine outreach
plan to hand out to their buddieshere in Harris County. Shawn Tier has

(32:45):
promised if he takes over his districtattorney, he will not move forward with
those charges. But as you justpointed out here, this law could actually
get him fired for not pursuing thecharges. I mean, am I understanding
this correctly or is that a littletoo specific for it to affect Shawn Tier?
No? I mean I think youknow, like I said, we're

(33:06):
just seeing how this is playing outright in reality, it is one thing
whenever these legislation's right, it's anotherto see it actually play out. So
this is the first time we're seeingit moves an actual petition like this move
through the process. But essentially,if you have you know, if you
have a district attorney in one ofthese rogue prosecutors as they call them,
that essentially says repeatedly they're not goingto prosecute serious crimes, then you know

(33:31):
that that is exactly the kind ofthing that puts them in the potential of
having one of these trials brought againstthem where they could be removed from office.
So he's not even in an officeyet, but I would already be
worried if he's going to continue downthe staff. Yeah, exactly. It
sounds like, you know, thisis the exact sort of thing that would

(33:52):
affect Shawn Tier. Our incoming districtattorney has promised to not enforce the laws.
All right. I mentioned I wasin Fredericksburg over the weekend. Not
far from Fredericksburg is a town calledKerrville. A lot of people in Texas
have seen Kerrville on a map.A lot probably never been to Kerville,
never batted their eyes twice at it. Currville residents are now suing the city
over a very controversial new anti solicitationordinance. A group is accusing the City

(34:16):
of Curville of unfairly targeting canonates intenton challenging incumbents. What does this mean?
So the city of Currville just recentlypassed, I think it was I
don't know, maybe maybe two orthree weeks ago, had just passed this
ordinance that citizens were speaking up against. You know, it was under the

(34:37):
guise of you know, well,we're gonna we're gonna protect citizens from solicitors.
And look, I get that nobodylikes solicitors coming and knocking on their
door. But when you actually lookright, in so many of these cases,
it's this way, when you actuallylook at what the motivation and what
the actual effect of this law wouldbe, it would actually really really tann
down on political canvassing. And thisis at a time where a lot of

(35:01):
the city council and the mayor localelected officials have felt sort of threatened from
grassroots conservatives that have been running someof these campaigns against them. Literally,
the effect of this law, rightwould would tamp down. You know,
if you're at a polling place, you know, and three people were out
there with the trunk sign, youknow, if a fourth person comes up,

(35:22):
well, all of a sudden, they've broken the law. Right,
It's just it's it's absolutely ridiculous. It says that you have to go to
the city to get a license todo this. Now you've got a group
of citizens almost immediately filing a lawsuitpushing back against this. I think that
there's going to be some sort ofa hearing. Something's happening today in that
But I would expect that this ordinancewill be struck down because it actually violates

(35:46):
pretty clearly to me. And look, I'm not a lawyer either, but
it's pretty clear violation of the FirstAmendment. Yeah, the First Amendment's pretty
clear. You have a right togather together in a public place to assemble
piece peaceably, to assembled. Doesn'tthat describe what they're basically outlying here,
exactly right? And there's no exceptionmade for if people are block walking and

(36:08):
telling people to vote against against meas a city council member or mayor.
You know, that's not the kindof speech you can you can band all
right. So we recently had thisruling last week from the Supreme Court of
the United States on the border securitycase. The federal government invoked the supremacy
cause to prevent Texas's new border securitylaw from taking effect. And Ken Paxxon

(36:30):
has some things to say about this, doesn't he. Yeah, And so
this is this is sort of interesting. You know, we're still waiting for,
you know, the Supreme Court totake up and maybe finally get an
opinion on Senate Bill four, whichis the legislation passes last year by Texas,
which creates a criminal law for illegallyentering the country. Well, now

(36:53):
you've got Attorney General Kim Paxson outthere saying that, you know, based
on the way the court has rulesthan some other cases around here, but
he's he's actually pretty uh hopeful thatthe Supreme Court will uphold Texas's border security
law, based largely on the factthat you know, the federal government is

(37:15):
saying, you know, they're they'reusing the supremacy clause, which essentially says,
hey, you know, if ifthe federal government has responsibility, has
a law of states can't override that. But you've seen that the Supreme Court
has has delved deeper into that exactissue in some other recent cases, and
so certainly positive news. We won'tknow right until the Court finally gets a

(37:37):
ruling on this, but you know, this is the kind of thing that
has certainly been been tied up incourts, and every you know, every
day, every week, every monththat we go with this legislation being tied
up in courts is another another day, another week, another month of these
record numbers of people illegally crossing intoTexas and into the rest of the country.
