(00:00):
The Giganic government sucks. The Suitof Happiness radio is deluxe. Liberty and
freedom will make you smile. Asuit of habing and us on your radio
toil, just as cheeseburg is aliberty rise at food. Okay, so
(00:27):
today is Juneteenth. It is aday that celebrates the end of slavery.
If you want to learn more aboutthe significance of this holiday, do not
go to Delaware. That's where JoeBiden is at right now. Delaware had
nothing to do with the judenteenth. But today is it's exactly that. It's
exactly what it is. By theway, interesting show today, Daniel Turner
(00:48):
stopping by from Power the Future.Owen Schroyer is going to be here from
info wars dot com. Kind ofa controversial guy. You're gonna want to
talk to you. You're gonna wantto hear what he has to say.
The government's trying to take down infoWars, whatever you may think of them.
I find that to be disgusting andvile the thought of the government because
they thought that al Alex Jones hadsome wrong opinion he's spreading well as a
(01:10):
defamation about Sandy Hook. We'll explainthe whole story to you. Stick around,
but real quick though, I knowa lot of people out there have
thoughts about June teenth. Some peopleare for it, some people are against
it. Some people think it's abunch of white liberals virtue signaling. They're
probably right. But technically, whenyou think about what June teenth is,
(01:30):
June teenth is a holiday that celebratesa Republican president putting a stop to illegal
human trafficking in our southern border. That's what it was. They made slavery
illegal and people were still trafficking slavesthrough Galveston the southern border of America,
and the Republican president stepped in andsaid no more. Technically, that's what
(01:55):
June teenth is. Hey, doesthat sound like something the Democrats are against?
It turns out they were not. They the Democrats were not against human
trafficking at our southern border back inthe day when Juneteenth rust became a thing,
nor are they against it now.All that being said, I do
think that conservatives and Republicans rallying againstJuneteenth, then I get it. Juneteenth
(02:19):
is for government workers and people incorporate America. If you're a small business
owner, you can't afford to takework off today. If you own a
mechanic shop, you fix mufflers fora living, If you run a delivery
service, whatever it is you dofor you've got you can't afford to take
a day off in the middle ofthe work week because slavery happened hundreds of
years ago. And yes, I'maware there are more slaves today than there
(02:42):
were during the entire Transatlantic slave trade. But kind of like what Ben rothof
recently pointed out, instead of attackingJuneteenth, maybe we should spend a little
more time criticizing Labor Day. LaborDay is a far more radical holiday with
a far more radical history. JoeBiden made Juneteenth a thing, and I
(03:02):
think that's part of the reason whyRepublicans don't like it, and conservatives have
dedicated a considerable amount of time makingfun of the celebration. And some of
that criticism is warranted, as itsrecognition was largely virtue signaling by Joe and
June teenth has been used to pushleft wing narratives about equity and racial justice.
(03:24):
But the holiday's creation was a campaignpromise by former President Donald Trump in
twenty twenty. Did you know thatjust saying the holiday celebrates a fundamentally good
part of American history, the endof slavery. I think the end of
slavery was good. Sorry, I'manti authoritarian, I always will be.
I am more of a libertarian thanany of those lowercase al but still the
(03:49):
end of slavery was good. Incontrast, Labor Day explicitly accepts left wing
narratives about organized labor and even Marxistorigins. International Workers' Day is May Day.
That was the model for Labor Day, and that has its roots in
the eighteen eighty six labor strike inChicago, famous for the Haymarket affair,
(04:11):
the Haymarket riots, in which alabor demonstrator threw a bomb and killed a
cop. A few years after thisincident, an international socialist coalition declared May
First a day of protest. Friedrichingalls Co wrote the Communist Manifesto. Did
you know that he praised Mayday demonstrations. He said, quote, the spectacle
(04:34):
we are now witnessing will make thecapitalists and landowners of all lands realize that
today the proletarians of all lands arein very truth united. If only Karl
Marx were with me to see itwith his own eyes, he said,
hmm. Interesting, that's what LaborDay is supposed to be about. By
(04:57):
eighteen ninety four, the movement fora Labor Day in the United States was
putting pressure on President Grover Cleveland todeclare national holiday, and he was cautious
not to have it fall in Mayto avoid the clearest socialist and anarchist connections.
So Congress compromised. They selected theSeptember date because unions in New York
City had long held celebrations that month. Now, while most radical aspects of
(05:21):
the holiday were rejected, organized laborhas been a well established member of the
Democratic coalition for a century. Eventoday, union voters prefer Democrats by a
considerable margin and are a critical votingblock for the left. Well, okay,
to be fair, that is changinga bit, but I think union
(05:43):
leaders preferred Democrats. Republicans still havean overwhelmingly negative view of labor unions,
as they should, but few questionthe institution of Labor Day. Why is
that Labor Day is a holiday tocelebrate far left radicalization of the workforce.
Labor Day is accepted by almost everyoneas a ceremonial end of summer barbecues,
(06:08):
water balloon fights, neighborhood balk parties, kids go back to school, the
football season begins. Nothing wrong withthat, right, but most people don't
realize the far left origins. Youget a day off from work, what's
not to love? Realistically, neitherit nor Juneteenth is going anywhere anytime soon.
So maybe it wouldn't be wise tocampaign on taking away everyone's long weekend.
(06:30):
But instead of harping on Juneteenth's negativeaspects and think, what we should
look for are ways to celebrate withinthe holidays established framework, as they have
with Labor Day. Point out thefact that the GOP was founded by abolitionists.
A Republican signed the Emancipation Proclamation.Again, I repeat, Juneteenth is
(06:53):
a holiday that celebrates a Republican presidentputting an end to illegal human trafficking at
our southern border. But if you'rea small business owner, it's Wednesday.
According to a new report, exaggeratedstatements are up by like a billion percent,
and now more of the highest ratedshow on radio, Kenny Webster's Pursuit
(07:15):
of Happiness, There's something remarkable happeningin America right now. Yesterday on CNN,
they talked about how Trump's immigration policiesare suddenly becoming mainstream right suddenly,
like they just figured that out. These people live in an ivy tower in
New York City or Washington, DC. They don't realize that most Middle Americans
(07:35):
can't afford to buy groceries, theycan't afford gas to go on a road
trip. Average people are struggling rightnow. So yeah, the immigration policies
that Donald Trump is promoting are verymuch mainstream. In fact, they are
normal policies anywhere on Earth in almostany civilized country except for this one up
until I don't know nine months ago, and I noticed something else happening at
(07:58):
the same time. You've heard allthe news stories about law Fair and the
Yesterday on the View they joy Beara very ironic name for a woman,
and Rachel Maddow we're opining about howif Trump wins, he'll try to take
them off the air, And Iimmediately knew what they were talking about.
They're not worried about getting taken offthe air. They're talking about what Joe
(08:20):
Biden's federal government is doing to infowars. If Trump's immigration policies recently became
mainstream, I feel like the newspersonalities the content that they put out under
Alex Jones News brand. I thinkover the last five to ten years,
that's become mainstream. And I don'tthink a lot of people realize that.
(08:41):
I mean, I've known about itfor a long time, A long time
ago. I thought Alex Jones.I met him when I was a young
man in my early twenties, andAlex Jones would talk about things that I
thought were relevant, But then hewould talk about things that maybe went over
people's heads, you know, Bohemiangrove stuff like that, the you know,
conspiracy theories often the brand he getsput under. Well, times have
(09:03):
changed, right, suddenly, AlexJones has become a more honest person than
anybody in the mainstream media. Imean suddenly. Maybe he always was,
I don't know, but a lotof people started paying attention to him over
the last few years. Last weekend, Alex Jones appeared on stage at Turning
Point, USA, what is consideredto be a mainstream conservative group for young
(09:24):
Americans. And it was then thatI realized that there is unity right now
on the right, the so calledfringe groups, the so called conservative inc
corporate conservativism, if you will, everybody seems to have united under the umbrella
of Donald Trump. This rants alittle longer than I intended it to be.
This was supposed to be an introto a guest. There's a guy
on hold right now. I'm abig fan of him. His name's Owen
(09:46):
Schroyer. And if you don't knowwho that is, you need to follow
him on social media. Owen wasone of the January sixth prisoners. This
guy went to prison for over amonth for the crime of doing journalism.
Ohen, you heard my little monologuethere to Did I get anything wrong?
Anything you'd add to that? No? I think you teed it up greatly.
And now I'm just chomping on thebit to chew on the meat you
(10:09):
just left on the table. Butyou put it so perfectly. Talking about
and this applies to a lot ofthings. But you bring up Trump's immigration
policy and they act surprise like Americanssupport Trump's immigration policy. Well, what
does that actually mean? There's acriminal invasion happening at our border and people
don't like it. That's what itreally means. Biden's immigration policy is a
(10:31):
criminal invasion. Oh, it's stunning. Americans don't like that. By the
way. In the meantime, we'respending two hundred billion dollars to protect Ukraine's
borders, and we're spending two hundredbillion dollars to facilitate the invasion of our
own. But I suppose you'll continuethat conversation because I know you wanted to
talk about the situation that info Warsis going through now, specifically dealing with
(10:56):
Alex Jones and this kind of Trumptent of conservative policy, if you will.
I mean, there's no doubt thishas happened under Trump, But I
mean, really, I think whatthe conservative ink side of conservative politics has
realized is Alex Jones, Info Wars, or people kind of in that ilk
(11:18):
of commentary have been way ahead ofthe curve and way more close to reality
with their political analysis than anyone elseout there. And I think that we've
reached this time where so much ofwhat info Wars and Alex Jones has talked
about has come true that it's justundeniable, but it's also very popular.
(11:39):
If Alex Jones wasn't popular, thenTurning Point USA wouldn't invite him on the
stage. But he is popular. He gets the biggest applause. And let's
recall in twenty fifteen and even inearly twenty sixteen, Conservative Inc. Was
anti Trump. So I think theconservative movement has come a long way.
I know we've discussed this before, how we're kind of part of this new
(12:01):
right that doesn't do political correctness. We tell it like it is. We
accept the Democrat Party for what itis, a bunch of criminal liars.
And what better example than what we'reseeing from the White House today taking real
videos of Joe Biden. These arereal videos, no edit necessary, and
they just say it's fake. Theseare the people that fake videos about Donald
(12:24):
Trump. These are the people thatfake videos about Joe Rogan. Everything the
American left does, specifically the DemocratParty, is projection, Kenny. I
mean that that is perfectly explained.Oh and I followed you for a while.
I've been keeping up with your work. I've never heard you say anything
that sounded untrue to me. Idon't know, I don't know. I
can't endorse everything you've ever said.I can't endorse everything Alex Jones ever said,
(12:48):
because I don't know everything here.I don't watch the show every day.
I work, and you know howit is. You've got job,
you got to do your thing. But Alex Jones got fined one point five
billion dollars by the government. That'sa that's an insane amount of money,
spreading misinformation they claim about Sandy Hookor you know, whatever it is he
said. I never actually heard himsay it. When I went and tuned
into the show, I never heardhim talk about that. But on that
(13:09):
note, if that's a crime worthyof punishment, being wrong or getting you
know, speculating about something that thatthey deemed to be inaccurate, then shouldn't
the executives at NBC and CNN andthe Washington Post and the New York Times
and BuzzFeed and ABC News and CBS. Shouldn't they all be in trouble for
the same crime. Shouldn't they begetting imprisoned or arrested or sent to death
(13:31):
row? I mean, well, you know, legally speaking of course,
because I got to think there's waymore misinformation from those people. Well,
let's put it into perspective. AlexJones crime was defamation, and they're saying
he owes billions of dollars for defamation. Now, there were no casualties,
(13:52):
fatalities, he didn't call for anyviolence. But you compare that to I
think I think two stories will justkeep it at time. Two how about
the US government and the media lyingabout weapons of mass destruction that didn't exist
that led to millions of people dyingin the Middle East in that war.
How about more recently lying about thissafety and effectiveness of COVID nineteen vaccines,
(14:16):
which might have caused the death ofmillions of people as well. They don't
want to be fully transparent about that, but now they admit it's neither safe
or effective. So if defamation isworthy of one point five billion dollars,
and if people want to see howinsane it really is, they actually wanted
two point five trillion dollars. That'sbigger than that's bigger than ninety eight percent
(14:39):
of the world's GDP. They actuallywanted two point five trillion dollars. If
you think that's nuts, I don'tblame you. You can plug it into
a search engine and you'll see foryourself. They wanted two point five trillion.
But it doesn't matter. A billionand a half, two and a
half trillion, it's the same thing. It's they don't have the money,
We don't have the money. It'sit's just a total ludicrous number to get
us shut down. But if that'sthe price for defamation, then what should
(15:03):
be the price for putting out informationout there that gets people killed? And
I think that that's kind of whatyou're asking. But of course that would
be if we lived in a landthat was just and we had a judicial
system that was just. But Ithink most people are aware now that this
is really just persecution and a hierarchyof power. Absolutely. Yeah. When
(15:26):
I think about what they accused AlexJones of, whether he's guilty or not,
it sounds like they're talking about whatthey did to Kyle Rittenhouse or what
they did to the Covington Catholic schoolkids. It sounds like what they're talking
about is spreading misinformation that endangered children. Sandy Hook had already happened by the
time Alex Jones made some theory aboutit years ago, and I think the
(15:46):
amount of time that they suggested thathe spent talking about that topic is vastly
exaggerated. But again, I'm notendorsing it or disputing it or whatever.
I just find that the rules andstandards for both sides are not the same.
And now they're coming for the student. They want to take your equipment
away? Is that the latest onthis? Yeah, So we just had
what you might call a victory incourt in the financial course the bankruptcy courts
(16:10):
that have kicked it back to theStates courts. And so this will buy
us a runway of time for probablytwo weeks to a month at least before
we know what our true fate is. But yes, there is there are
parties involved that want to liquidate InfoWars, shut it down, close the
doors, and make sure that Alexcan ever broadcast again. They were even
(16:32):
going after his social media accounts, because even if you do shut down the
Info War studios, Alex can stillgo live on x let's say, one
of many platforms that would let himspeak. So they wanted to take his
social media accounts too, but that'sbeen put into holding with the rest of
the cases. But yeah, theywanted to liquidate the studios, padlock the
(16:52):
studios, shut us down so thatwe couldn't be on air. Luckily we
are still on air. I'll beon air today hosting my normal show three
pm Central to six Central. Sowe do have an extended runway of time.
But the truth is, the longknives are out for Info Wars.
Eventually they will shut it down.Win is really the question at this point,
(17:14):
I think, you know to expandon this quickly too, because look,
I didn't work at info Wars duringSandy Hook. It was never my
thing. I wasn't even really interestedin politics at the time. It wasn't
my thing at all. But what'sstrange is I get there in twenty sixteen
and then I think it's like twentyseventeen or twenty eighteen, all of a
sudden it becomes this story again, and then we get sued for it,
(17:38):
including myself, and I'm just likescratching my head, like, wait a
second. I never talked about this. I was not even here for this,
and this happened almost ten years ago. I think this is punishment for
helping Trump win the twenty sixteen election. And I think this is the American
left taking the mask off and goingfour full totalitarian authoritarian and they look at
(18:00):
Alex and info Wars is one oftheir biggest oppositions politically, and so it
has to be shut down. That'sit. Yeah, absolutely, And I
got to remind people the streisand effectif they take Alex and you and the
rest of InfoWars dot com, ifit doesn't just go away, It's not
like you guys, there's enough peoplein your team that I got to assume
(18:22):
you're going to keep having a voiceout with whether they have your website or
your social media accounts or not.The interest in the content you guys are
creating doesn't go away just because somecourt wants it to write. Well,
let me just kind of respond tothat off track for a second, because
I'm letting the dust settle on acouple things. But there were a couple
other major bombs that went off inthis lawfair that I'm just letting the dust
(18:47):
settle on. But they're not stopping. They're not stopping. They're still coming
after us. They're coming after othernews organizations as well. So the fate
of info Wars could essentially be thefate of the entire inde media. Call
it right wing, left wing,it doesn't matter. The fate of info
Wars will be the fate of theentire independent media. There's other lawsuits on
(19:07):
going right now with some of thebiggest names and biggest corporations in news.
It's the same legal groups. Youknow, nobody's really decided to make a
big pus out of this. SoI'm not going to be the one to
do it. We're gonna let thedust settle. But let's just say they're
still going after other people. Sohaving said that, yeah, I mean,
I'll just speak for myself. Iwon't make any assumptions about what Alex
(19:30):
will do. I think we couldall assume he's not going to stop talking.
But I mean, I'll just speakfor myself. If Info War shuts
down, I've already said I'll beon air the next day at three o'clock
PM. I will be on air, even if it's just on my Rumble
channel and my ex account where Ihave hundreds of thousands of followers, and
I go live all the time, get tens of thousands in a live audience.
(19:51):
So I'll be live the next day. Now, it'll be a major
hit me not having the great crewbehind me. It's kind of one of
the unspoken beauty beauties of Info Warsis we really do have an incredible crew
that raises the value of what wedo to such a high level. But
I'll still be live. I'll stillbe talking. And they know that,
and that's why they're going after thesocial media accounts, and that's why censorship
(20:15):
was such an important issue for them, and they had to censor all these
big social media accounts because they don'twant Kenny to have a voice. They
don't want Kenny Webster to have amillion followers. That's not for you.
You can't be trusted with that. That's only for the big corporations. That's
only for the controlled networks to getmillions of audience members, not you.
You can't do that. You can'tbe trusted with that type of power.
(20:37):
So that's why social media censorship,Internet censorship is such a key to their
power structure and why they clamped downso hard. And I'm guessing they'll come
back. They're not going to givethis thing up. They need you censored
off the Internet. They can't haveanybody with the ability to reach a million
followers that they don't control. Yeah, Owen Troyer, Info Wars and a
(21:00):
journalist. I know that these guysare considered to be controversial. But to
those of you out there Texas talkradio listeners, did I ask you did
he say anything you disagree with?Did he? And to those of you
that don't like it Full Wars, look, don't watch it. It's as
simple as that. Frankly, Ithink Alex Jones is an incredible entertainer.
I've known the guys since two thousandand five. He's never been nothing but
nice to me when I met him, and frankly, I hope you guys
(21:22):
continue to have a brand at thevery least, just to give a giant
middle finger to corporate America. FollowOrren Schroyer online. Check out his word.
I'm listening to Pursuit of happen thisWade. This is Kenny Webster's Pursuit
of Happiness on KPRC nine point fiftyHouston. So. One of the editors
at the New York Post Editorial Boardpublished a report recently that detailed some of
(21:47):
the things people are saying in differentideologies to explain what's going on right now
in America. And amazingly, eventhe even the liberals, have gotten a
few things right. When you lookat the report. Here, I give
you an example. I'm talking abouta New York Times writer has just admitted
Democrat run West Coast cities are ms. Far left propagandists who traffick in misinformation
(22:11):
and conspiracy theories are now admitting.Okay, it's hard for us to deny
the fact that Oregon is Seattle,San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles.
You wouldn't go to these places onvacation anymore, would you, Now?
I mind you, they're not blamingliberalism, but they do admit something we've
been saying for a long time. You know, this isn't happening in magaaland
(22:33):
out in the countryside, you knowwhat I mean? Like, come on,
guys, but do you think it'sjust a coincidence that all of those
liberal cities, with all of theirfar left policies are all suddenly in shambles?
Whoa gosh, what do you thinkcaused that? Listen to how they
explain it. The New York TimesNicholas Christov says, quote, as Democrats
(22:57):
make their case to voters, onechallenge is that some of the bluest parts
of the country, cities on theWest coast, are a mess. Why
put liberals in charge nationally when theplaces where they have the greatest control are
plagued by homelessness and crime and dysfunction. We are more likely to believe that
housing is a human right than conservatives, but less likely to actually get people
(23:21):
houses. Liberals accept a yawning gulfbetween our values and our outcomes, and
too often settle for being performative asto gesture to support trans kids. Oregon
took money from the tight education budgetto put tampons in boys' restrooms, including
the kindergartens. They go on toclaim that's not the case in the Northeast,
(23:47):
though. They said, maybe ahealthy Republican party keeps the Democratic Party
healthy and vice versa. Oh,okay, so it's not liberalism killing these
cities. No, not at all. No, it's not. No,
it's not the liberals fart here's thebest part of it. Listen to this
quote. We in the West impededhome construction in ways that made cities unaffordable,
(24:10):
especially for people of color. Welet increasing numbers of people struggle with
homelessness, particularly black and brown people. I'm reading right out of the article.
They capitalize black, they don't capitalizebrown. Please explain that one to
me, anybody is Isn't that thestrangest thing? Anyway? The article goes
(24:30):
on quote black people in Portland arealso murdered at higher rates than in cities
more with more notorious violence, andSeattle and Portland had some of the greatest
racial disparities and arrests in the country. The article continues, the basic reason
for homelessness on the West Coast isthe shortage of housing that drives up rents.
(24:51):
California lacks about three million housing units, in part because it's difficult to
get permission to build. End quote. Go do a search for this guy
and is deliberately misleading article that hewrote. Here's what you don't find in
these articles. If you do aword search, you're not going to find
the words immigrant or migrant, orillegal or undocumented or sanctuary city. You
(25:14):
won't find those words in any ofhis articles. I have a news report
I want to share with you rightnow, mister Christoph if you're listening,
which he most certainly is not.If you invite the third world into your
community unchecked, they will chase outall the normal people. Even when you're
(25:37):
trying to govern with ideological purity, you're going to have a housing crisis by
design. You are bringing people intoyour community who voted the wrong way in
their failed state that they come from, and you're chasing out the people who
actually were contributing to the society there. The community had businesses and taxpayers and
(25:57):
volunteers, and you're replacing those peoplewith people that come from places where they
didn't do that stuff. They didn'twork, they didn't build, they didn't
volunteer, they didn't contribute. They'vecome to your country now, they've come
to your community, they've come toyour backyard because they couldn't figure out how
(26:18):
to make it work where they camefrom. This isn't xenophobia. This is
just logic. Something I. Somethingelse Christoph isn't interested in exploring is how
what he did, called unchecked conservativismin places like well here for example here
in Texas, has actually resulted ina very flourishing state that normal people are
(26:40):
leaving their craphole cities to come andenjoy. People are leaving California and New
York to go where guess where,Florida and Texas. If you want to
govern a city or a state orwhatever, there's a few things you could
do. You could fill the potholes, You could pick up the garbage,
let the market figure out what theminimum wage is supposed to be. Or
(27:03):
you know those prisons you built tokeep bad guys in them, why not
keep bad guys in them instead ofemptying them out. You could make vagrancy
and homelessness intolerable for vagrants and thehomeless. This author that wrote this article
can sit around all day trying toconvince himself that the West Coast is just
some anomaly. But the West Coastisn't unique. What do you think life
(27:29):
is like right now in Philadelphia orChicago or New York City. The funniest
thing about this article is that thisguy is happy to publish some five thousand
word word salad. You'll sit aroundall day, get paid a lot of
money just basically talking about how incompetentRepublicans are calling us Nazis. But the
(27:51):
irony is they're the ones behaving likeNazis. This is the ministry of truth.
This is leftist fascism anyway, Bysure you've heard this all before.
Here's something interesting. Reason dot COM'sEmma camp recently wrote, this is the
(28:12):
libertarian perspective on what's going on inthe world right now. This year,
the Department of Education created a massiveheadache for millions of college students, and
it's likely to repeat the department's laterelease of an updated version of the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid FAFSA.They call it that the form was riddled
with technical books that meant schools struggledto give students an accurate estimation of how
(28:37):
much financial aid they would receive. Now the FEDS are month behind, months
behind in producing a new de glitchedversion, and people have pointed out the
experts are sounding the alarm over signsthat next year's form will also be riddled
with issues. Kind of seems likethe nightmares likely to continue. The Education
Department hasn't learned from its mistakes, and it's happening in an election year to
(29:04):
people that are going to go outand vote in their first presidential election,
people that are probably well aware ofthe fact that paying for college is very
difficult. You spend a lot ofmoney, you go into debt, getting
a degree that doesn't really get youa job when you're done. And the
guy that claims he's going to solveall these problems isn't. In fact,
(29:27):
the guy that just accused Donald Trumpof not being above the law is violating
an order from the Supreme Court tonot pay off these people's student loans.
Your rules even matter, I supposenot. Finally, here's one more for
you from the conservative perspective of what'sgoing on. The zeitgeist, if you
(29:48):
will, of what's happening in theworld. The Wall Street Journal's William mcgern
writes, now that Hunter Biden hasbeen convicted of federal gun felonies and awaits
another trial on tax charges, canwe all agree that special Council is a
bad idea? I mean, yeah, He's right. Bipartisan agreement is possible.
It's happened before with the Independent Councillaw. Democrats liked it during Lawrence
(30:14):
Walsh's six year, forty seven milliondollar Iran contrainvestigation back when Reagan was in
power, but by nineteen ninety ninethey wanted to let it expire because the
ken Starrs Whitewater investigation of the Clintonsand the Special Council undermines the real check
on government, which is political accountability, calling the Special Council process quote harmful.
(30:37):
It substitutes a politicized criminal process forwhat should be transparent and accountable handling
of politically sensitive issues. I guessat the end of the day, what
we're telling you here is when youhave a special investigator who claims to be
nonpartisan and claims they're going to betransparent, more often than not, none
(31:00):
of those things really turn out tobe true. Do they We're not passive
aggressive like some people. We know. This is Kenny Webster's pursuit of happiness.
There's something kind of amazing happening inAmerica right now, and it's a
good thing. Believe me. CNNyesterday I was talking about Donald Trump's immigration
(31:25):
policies becoming mainstream mainstream. What thatshocks you? That people don't want to
have a open border where humans aregetting trafficked. Okay, they've actually been
noticing this now for a couple months. Here's CNN back in March telling you
that maybe Donald Trump isn't as racistto Hispanics as everybody thought he was.
(31:47):
So you might think, you know, that Hispanic voters might be the types
of folks who would have a backlashagainst Donald Trump's Mars right, Ain't the
case? If you ask Hispanic voterswho do they trust more on border security
and immigration? Overwhelmingly they trust DonaldTrump Moore by a tremendous Martin. Look
at that forty nine percent to twentyfour percent. All right, that was
March, guys. Okay, littletime passes here. We are this month,
(32:10):
same channel, same person doing thepolling data. So this is a
better job on border security and immigration, which tends to be one of former
President Trump's best questions. But Ithink the key thing here, Kate to
look at is the timeline and lookat the trend line here, because back
in June of twenty twenty, Bienwas actually trusted more on the question of
border security and immigration by a singlepoint. Look at where we are in
(32:35):
May of twenty twenty four. Mygoodness, gracious, look at this huge
jump that Donald Trump has gotten. He is now ahead on this issue by
twenty seven percentage points. Guys.Things have really changed in four years,
haven't they. Okay, unfortunately, some things haven't changed, but the border's
worse than ever. So maybe ina sense that did change because it was
(32:55):
improving border patrol in California. Seethese twenty five Ak style rifles destined for
the Mexican cartel. They claim theUS Consulate warning of kidnappings targeting American citizens
in Mexican border towns. Mexican governmentrejecting the US consulates travel warning gunmen firing
at news buildings in Sineloa. They'reshooting at journalists, seizing tons of cocaine
(33:21):
and methan fetanyl at the California border. Yeah, it's not safe down there.
The New York Post just published areport about this. Twenty three year
old man from El Salvador entered thecountry illegally was arrested for the murder and
rape of a woman named Rachel Morin, a mother of five from Maryland.
(33:42):
They claim he found the time duringhis vacation in the United States to break
into the home of an assault anine year old girl and her mother.
A day later, an Ecuadorian migrantwho crossed into the country illegally before authorities
apprehended and then released him into thecountry, was arrested for sexually assaulting a
thirteen year old girl in Queens,New York. You know what Joe's response
(34:05):
was. President Biden didn't really seemto care to announce. What CBS News
reported was to one of the quoteone of the largest immigration relief programs in
recent history for hundreds of thousands ofimmigrants living in the country without proper documents.
During a time when there's a crimewave directly connected to the human trafficking
and illegal immigration at our southern border, Joe Biden has decided to make it
(34:30):
easier to get into the country.Trump is on track to complete one of
the greatest comebacks in American political history, probably the greatest. Four years ago
he was accused of an insurrection atour capital. Now everybody wants him back
in the White House. Who couldblame him? On almost every conceivable issue,
(34:52):
Biden has steered the country in thewrong direction. In some cases,
it almost seems as if the Presidentis thumbing his nose the public, like
when he named what do you callthat spending bill? The Inflation Reduction Act
actually made inflation worse, but nofailure stands out quite like the crisis he
(35:12):
manufactured at the southern border. Okay, Afghanistan was pretty bad too. But
polling indicates that immigration weighs heavily onvoters' minds. Right now, fifty eight
percent of swing state voters say immigrationwill be very important in determining their vote.
Gosh, I wonder who they'll votefor. All of a sudden,
(35:32):
the median voter is making Donald Trumpcirca twenty fifteen sound like a squish.
The most conspicuous evidence of voters frustrationcomes in the form of a recent CBS
News poll. Sixty two percent ofrespondents and fifty three percent of Hispanics express
support for a new national program todeport all undocumented immigrants currently living in America
(35:55):
illegally. Opening the border was achoice one that seems likely to cost Democrats
the White House. Earlier this month, Biden seemed to have finally come to
the realization that his record on theborder is a weight around the ankle of
his reelection campaign. He didn't careabout you, or crime or your ability
(36:16):
to earn a living, but hedoes care about getting reelected. So he
made a big show of signing anexecutive order on border security three and a
half years into his presidency that hehad previously insisted was not within his power
to issue. I guess you couldcall that a red herring. So now
(36:38):
we learn Biden is going to limitand restrict asylum to some people who cross
the border illegally in between ports ofentry, but he's going to continue to
bring in tens of thousands of immigrantsper month fly them into the country with
parole flights. So the illegal crossingnumbers make go down a little little bitty
(37:00):
bitty bit, but he's bringing morepeople into the country through what he calls
lawful pathways. In other words,Biden's come to Jesus moment on the border
was a ruse. Biden's focus iswhere it's always been, on allowing as
many people as possible to circumvent theregular immigration process. Consequences be damned.
(37:22):
This is a moral and policy failurethat has inflicted suffering upon the citizens Biden
is duty bound to protect. It'salso a staggering political own goal. If
you suspected that Trump might be youropponent again and believe that he is an
existential threat to American democracy, whyon God's green Earth would you hand him
(37:45):
so much ammunition to work with onhis signature issue. But that's exactly what
Joe did. Almost makes you wonderif Joe never wanted to get re elected.
I'm Kenny Webster. Before we go, I always like to end the
show with a little bit of goodnews. Who doesn't love good news?
The most important kind of news. One hundred and five year old just got
her Masters eighty three years late. She finished all her classes back in nineteen
(38:09):
forty one, but she never finishedher senior thesis because Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.
So now apparently the university she attendedis going to give it to her.
Here is Virginia Hislop and her granddaughtertalking about the degree. Go ahead
man. From time to time,I wish i'd finished, I've gotten my
master's. Part of it was thefact that I have been a college director
(38:34):
for a good number of years andI didn't have the advanced degree. In
summary of Winstead, so much gratitude. She's believed in all of us and
cheered us on all the way through, and that we get to cheer her
on now is pretty cool. Mygood little sub boy. The rule time.
I'm glad. I'm thrilled for her. I feel like this is the
crowning glory of her amazing career. This is her lifetime achievement award. I
(38:59):
know, in the grand scheme ofthings, it's little, but it's the
little stuff that counts. I'm keunnyWebster. I love you all. Subscribe
