Jack Gannon government sucks. Suit of radio is deluxe. Liberty
and Freedom will make you smile a Suda Habing and
us on your radio tol justice Cheseburger is a libity
rise at food.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
All right, So it has been It has officially been
five years since COVID was declared a public health emergency
and I'm still living off my stockpile of toilet paper.
Hi everyone, thanks for joining us. Kenny Webster here. Wesley
Hunt will be here in the next segment. He's a
congressman from here in the Houston area. He's a good guy.

(00:43):
He was an army helicopter pilot. He's a critic of
DEI policies, and he's a black guy. So wouldn't it
be interesting to hear what he thinks about what took
place last week at the Ronald Reagan Airport. We're going
to talk about that. We now know a little bit
about the woman that was flying the helicopter. She was
a close personal friend of Joe Biden and a member

(01:04):
of the alphabet community. Now I'm not criticizing her, right,
you know, It's just it's sad if she's responsible for
the helicopter crash, and if she was put in that
position because of DEI and that's the only reason this
helicopter crash happened. I still blame the people that put
her in charge before I blame her. Odds are she
probably didn't want to die, you know what I mean?
Something to think about.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Oh uh, and.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Governor Abbit you're familiar with him, Yeah, State of Texas.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
He did the State of the State over the weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
What are his priorities for this upcoming legislative session, among others,
and what would you like to see happen in twenty
twenty five. We will talk about that and one of
the people that would be stopping by to discuss it
with us Brandon Waltons of Texas squarecard dot com. And
not surprisingly, one of Governor Abbitt's policies right now that
he is pushing very important for his agenda.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
It's school choice.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
School choice is a big part of what Governor Abbott
is trying to do in and around the country right now,
which is great. I'm a big fan of school choice
in and around the state. That is, you know, Linda McMahon,
the incoming Linda McMahon is going to be stepping in
and playing a big role in Education. She's the Secretary

(02:17):
Education Secretary nominee. She could help shake things up right
now in our education system by pushing school choice, and
it sounds like she might. So we'll get to all that,
but before we do, let's start off with the latest
in the trade war with our neighbors. The negotiations have begun.
Trump and Justin Trudeau are trading phone calls over the
tariff battle, and it got a little heated this weekend.

(02:39):
Justin Trudeau he thinks we should take him seriously, even
though then he already resigned from his job, Like, why
is he still here calling the shots?

Speaker 3 (02:48):
He said this yesterday.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
From the beaches of Normandy to the mountains of the
Korean Peninsula Peninsula, from the fields of Flanders to the
streets of Kandahar, we have fought and died alongside you.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
America is us.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
During your darkest hours during the Iranian hostage crisis, those
four hundred and forty four days, we worked around the
clock from our embassy to get your innocent compatriots home.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Oh what'd you.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Do during the summer of two thousand and five when
Hurricane Katrina ravaged your great city of New Orleans or
Mere weeks ago, and we sent water bombers to tackle
the wildfires in California.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Hum during the day.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
I'm gonna pause him right here. He's trying to make
us feel guilty because Canada has helped out America in
the past.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
You have your cherry picking examples.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
But the thing that he's ignoring here is that we've
given them way more than they've given us.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
That's the whole point of this thing, right.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
So over the weekend, Trump made good on his promise
to implement tariffs on Canada and China, and good.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
He spoke about it with reporters on the tarmat. No,
I'm not gonna say.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
We may have a short term, some a little pain
that people understand that, but long term, the United States
has been ripped off by virtually every country in the world.
We have deficits with almost every guntry, not every country,
put almost, and we're gonna change it. It's been unfair.
That's why we owed thirty six brillion dollars.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
He's right, We're thirty six trillion dollars in debt and
we give stuff to every country on earth.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
What are they giving us back?

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Well, Canada has played a central role in mooching off
of US, and they haven't done much to secure their border.
So the tariffs are now in place, sending the stock
at crypto markets into some losses today maybe a good
buying opportunity, and Canada is retaliating. Trudeau says that he's
going to put a tariffs on us, right, that's his plan.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
We were always there standing with you.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Not really, no, you guys weren't.

Speaker 6 (04:52):
No.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Remember when you rounded up all the truck drivers and
tried to force vaccinations on them, Well, we were against that.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
We thought that was bad. You guys treat your own
citizens ports of the world. Yes, we've had our differences.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Okay, he goes on and on. I don't want to
hear Justin Trudeau right now. Justin Trudeau needs to suck
it up. Look what happened with Columbia. Colombia was very
mad that we were going to send illegal immigrants back
to their country, and then we threatened them with tariffs,
and what happened. They've been the knee almost immediately. Venezuela two.

(05:26):
Venezuela has agreed to take back at citizens who had
been in the United States illegally.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Good.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
They've agreed to receive them their criminal trend A Arragua thugs.
It's good to have the Venezuelan hostages back home and
very important to note that Venezuela has agreed to receive
back into their country all the illegal aliens who were
encamped in the US, including gang members of Trende Arragua.
So this agreement was just announced after Rick Grennell, Trump's

(05:52):
Envoy four Special Missions, met with the country's president and
secured the release of six American detainees. America is healing
and the latest on this. President Trump announced earlier today
that the twenty five percent tariffs placed on Mexico over
the weekend will be delayed after a number of changes
were agreed to by Mexican President Claudia Shinbaum. Imagine that

(06:13):
Shinebaum confirm the news and the additional details of the
agreement on x She said, we had a good conversation
with Trump with respect to our relationship and sovereignty. And
on Saturday, you know, Trump signed those executive orders implementing
the tariffs against Mexico and Canada. And it looks like
we've already defeated Mexico. So the question is when is

(06:34):
Canada going to get on board? Do you think we
need him? Do you think we need maple syrup?

Speaker 3 (06:38):
We don't.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Trump had a phone call with Canadian Prime Minister Justin
Trudeau earlier today, and apparently they're going to have another one,
like right now that should be happening while we're on
the phone. And if Donald Trump can't get through to
Justin Trudeau, maybe somebody at the Castro family can you
know down in Cuba, because Fidel's is real.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Father.

Speaker 7 (06:57):
Everything you've heard is a lie, well unless you heard
it from the mouth of Kenny Webster, all facts, even
the bit about it is little Kenny.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Hey, Oh sorry, bro, I mean Big Kenny.

Speaker 7 (07:09):
You're listening to Kenny Webster's Pursuit of Happiness.

Speaker 6 (07:15):
All right.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
I probably should have played Walk This Way by Aerosmith,
because then I could have said, guawk this Way and
we could all laugh about what Chuck Schumer just did.
Chuck Schumer thinks that the only thing you do at
a Super Bowl party is you drink beer, and the
beer comes from I mean, obviously you drink beer at
a super Bowl party, but he's making it sound like
all of our beer comes from Mexico.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
I don't know if Chuck Schumer has ever been to
a Super Bowl party before.

Speaker 8 (07:40):
Let's just take Super Bowl Sunday. Okay, it's going to
affect beer, Okay, most of it. Corona here comes from Mexico. Okay,
it's going to affect your guac. He's got an avocado,
because what is guacamole made of.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Well, look, guacamole is an overrated appetizer. I can't I
like guacamole. But even still, this does kind of remind
you of Columbia, doesn't it. Remember last week everybody was
mad that Trump was going to put tariffs on Columbia,
and then by the time the Huffington Post, in Salon
dot Com and all the bloggers finished writing their articles
about how bad this was going to be on the

(08:17):
US economy, Trump had already won the trade war.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
He already won the trade.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
War, the Columbia already folded and agreed to his demands.
And now the same thing has just happened with Mexico.
Trump was threatening to put tariffs on Mexico, and Chuck
Schumer went out and bought a tall boy of Corona,
completely ignoring the fact that there are craft breweries all
over America that are suffering and anyway, it doesn't matter.
Mexico's already folded. They've bent the knee here with his

(08:42):
take on it. The first guy in government to endorse
tru Donald Trump in the twenty twenty four presidential election cycle, arguably,
in my opinion, the most maga lawmaker in the state
of Texas, Congressman Wesley Hunt.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Good afternoon, my brother.

Speaker 6 (09:00):
My own brother, as always always fro.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Well, dude, you know, we love that you're here. It's
awesome that you're here.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
There's a lot going on in the news this week
that directly connects to Congressman Wesley Hunt's office in both Washington,
DC and Houston.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
But let's start off with this.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
With all the breweries out there suffering in town right now,
craft breweries are having trouble all over America, and for
some reason, Chuck Schumer is worried about Corona.

Speaker 6 (09:26):
Well, well, first of all, we all know Chuck Schumer
drinks but light.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Let's just be honest, obviously, like you can't.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
That's me, no idea what he's talking about, as usual,
But it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
We already won this, right Mexico's benthany. They agree that
the Canada hasn't come around yet. But Mexico has right.

Speaker 6 (09:48):
Canada will come around too. If you also just saw
what popped today and he is a Mexico agreed to
send ten thousand soldiers to the border. Shocking. You know,
it's amazing. It's amazing how you operate when you operate
in the manner of the United States being the big
dog on the porch, we need to act like it.
And when we act like it now I only do
give what we want. But the world is a safer place.

(10:09):
And the way President Trump is using these tariffs, in
my humble opinion, is absolutely genius. And everybody for the
past for decades, doesn't pay their fair share. President has
been talking about this for decades. So now that we're
in charge, we're going to make everyone pay their fair share.
And that's good for us. And you know why, because
eventually our taxes are going to go down. You know
what I what I what I would love to see

(10:30):
is I would I'd love to see enough tariff revenue
coming to this country to where we don't even have
to pay the i R S. Anything. We can do
away with the ir R s because the other countries
are paying us for our goods and our consumption, which
we consume the most of the world. So why are
we Why aren't we making other people pay for it?
And if Chuck Schumer wants to be concerned about Corona beer,

(10:51):
guess what if you if you make your beer here
in the US, you brought, you brought, you brought the
craft breweries and all the other beers that I made
here in this country, you don't have to pay a tariff.
And that means we are buying American, we are buying
from the USA. That is a great idea to me.
So this don't be a lot of shakeups and a
lot of changes. That is quo that we have seen
for the past few decades is officially over. And I'm

(11:13):
loving every part of this. And this is also what
the American public voted for. This is what we wanted.
So for all these squishy liberals that are more concerned
with other countries and how they're going to and how
they're doing and what and how they feel about tariffs
and making them pay more, I'm sorry. That's what America
First is all about. It is about us getting the
most return on our investment and US investing in this country.

(11:36):
End of discussion. If you don't like it, well buy
If you're a tax paying American, you should love seeing
all this because at the end of the day, we
are the country that everyone aspires to be like, and
we need to act like it, and everyone needs start
paying their fair share.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
You know, you perfectly explain that I've never seen anything
like this before in my life, and you and I
are basically the same age Lesley.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Using tariffs as a bartering chip.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
None not to bribe foreign countries, but instead almost basically
to punish them if they're not willing to get on board,
why give them free stuff? For as long as I
could remember, anytime we've been negotiating a deal with a
foreign country, the question is always what free thing will
we give them? How many billions will we give them?
This is the first time ever where we're not doing that.
And to anyone that's a critic of this, I might

(12:23):
remind people America is thirty six trillion dollars in debt.
I mean, Leslie, how much longer could we have gone
on doing it the old way?

Speaker 6 (12:31):
We can't and people have to have to understand just
how close we were to lose in this country. If
Kamala Harris was back in charge for the next four years.
This is a direct pivot to the way things need
to be. We have no business sending three hundred billion
dollars to the Ukraine. We have no business years ago
giving up the Panama Canal. We have no business not
making making sure that we pay more than everyone else

(12:52):
when everyone wants to negotiate and everyone wants our goods
and everyone wants our way of life. Let me tell
you so, we had twenty people into this country illegally,
over twenty million people into this country illegally for the
for the for the past four years. Well, why are
they coming here? They're coming here for a better life.
Because this is the land of milk and honey. This
is the United States. It's time that we acted like it.

(13:14):
That's all we want. We should not be sending billions
business dollars to other country. We should be operating in
our best interest. And also have a very bold prediction,
really not so bold, because you're gonna watch it happen
over of course, in the next four years. Watch this.
No new wars. We're not gonna be sending billions of
dollars to other countries. We're not gonna We're going to
be the harbinger of of usfering in a new era

(13:37):
of peace through strength, and people are going to fear
us again if people are not going to want to
pay the tariff of President Trump is going to slap
on people. This is amazing. In order to make an omelet,
you've got to crack a few eggs, and President Trump
is the egg cracker. Thank god boy.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
I'm glad you explained it that way because I have noticed.
I mean, you're a military that you were in combat
flying helicopters. And yes, we'll get to that question in
a second for those that are wondering. But you and
a lot of other MAGA Republicans, pro military Republicans are
huge critics of getting involved in more foreign wars.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
And I can't help but notice the New Republican Party.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
I mean, that's why all these libertarians and classical liberals
are on board with it. That's why so many military
veterans like Pete Hagsath and Tulsea Gabbard.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
I noticed.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
The people that don't like them are the neocons who
aren't sending their kids away to war.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Leslie. It's kind of hard to ignore that. I can't
be the only person that's seeing it.

Speaker 6 (14:31):
The most proud thing eard in my life is a
representing almost a million people in the hometown that I
grew up in and being the congressman here in the
Greater Houston area. It's such an honor. The other honor,
biggest honor of my life was, of course mirroring my
lovely wife. I got to add that, but also the
idea of me serving my country, going to combat, getting
sought at, engaging the enemy in combat. I understand what

(14:54):
this is and what I don't want to do is
then our sons and dogs to die for a non war.
Because and the discussion, that's why we feel this way.
And if I ask somebody to risk their life, if
I ask it to somebody the war, they're going to say,
you know what, it's for a worthy cause. Because Wesley
Hunt has been there. Wesley Hunt would only send us
there if it's for a worthy cause because he knows

(15:16):
what this means intimately. So that's why we have a
lot of us. You know, you bring up Pete, you
bring up myself, you bring up totally. We all fought
in combat. We are combat veterans. And when when you
understand what that means then you also understand what it
means to not want to send our young people to
die for a cause that's not a worthy one. We

(15:36):
don't want to send other people to die for other
people's problems than other people and other in foreign countries.
And if we do again, is for a worthy cause.
So if this is the attitude, this is the posture
of the new Republican Party, I love every second of
it because you know what, we save lives, we save money,
and it's a it's an issue of again, peace through strength.

(15:57):
We don't have to spend money. When we are a
strong America and we have strong leadership, we are respected
and fear around the world. That's exactly what Donald Trump represents.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
All right.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
You are an an army veteran, a helicopter pilot. You've
been a huge critic of DEI. Doge so far has
claimed to have cut out billions of dollars in spending
from our federal government by getting rid of the DEI stuff.
Trump pointed out last week they were going to do
an investigation to determine whether or not this helicopter accident

(16:27):
at Reagan Airport had something to do with DEI policies.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
And look I don't.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
I'm not going to criticize this woman or attack her publicly,
Captain Rebecca Loback, but we now know that this woman
that was flying the helicopter was a friend of Joe
Biden and apparently had some connection to LGBT activism on
social media. I'm sure she didn't want to die in
a helicopter accident. It's very sad what took place here,
but as somebody that was in the military and flew helicopters,

(16:55):
and the point they really delayed explaining who this woman
was and what her role was in the Biden administration. Wesley,
what is your reaction to all this news that we've
learned over the weekend.

Speaker 6 (17:06):
So, first of all, I want to say to all
the innocent souls that perished last week, my heart goes
out to them. My prayers are with the families that passed.
Everything that you just said I believe is completely accurate,
and there are a lot of factors that took place
in that horrific crash. I don't want to get into
details yet until the formal investigation is done, until we

(17:28):
get all the black box information as well. But again,
there are obviously some changes that need to be made
from a training standpoint to ensure this never happens again.
Also a day this too, Kenny, is this has never
happened in in instury of this country where we have
seen a military helicopter collide with the commercial aircraft. So

(17:50):
again this is a one a trillion incident that that
again should never happen, and we have to do a
deep dive in a training what our protocols are, especially
surrounding very busy airports like DCA. It's one of the
biggiest airports in the United States. But most most importantly,
you know, when I came up and I was training
and I learned how to fly in Apache, there was

(18:10):
no DEI that there was only one standard here. We
have to make sure that every pilot is trained to standard.
I don't want to besmirch or get in to besmirch
the life of the of the of the captain that parish.
I don't I don't want to, you know, talk trash
about her, but I will also say this, if she
was not qualified to man that aircraft, then guess what,

(18:31):
that's a problem. And it's something that we have got
to look at, and it's something that we have to
make sure that like it was when I trained, you know,
you know twenty fifteen, twenty years ago, that again, there
is one standard, regardless of your race, religion, color, or creed.
And when you serve the military, it's not about political
where you are politically, It's not about that. It's about
being willing to serve this country. So I commend her

(18:52):
for even one to serve this country, because less than
one percent of this of these of the young people
in this country, do choose to serve it. So I
do appreciate that. But if you're going to be manning,
you know, a multi million dollar aircraft with extraordinarily high stakes,
we have to know that there is one standard. We
have got to get to the bottom of this. And
DEI if not the answer.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Boy am endo that I think you explained it perfectly.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
Two more quick questions for you, Pete hag seth Are
your Defense secretary is heading to the border.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
Look, Wesley, I think.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
A lot of our listeners love this, and I'd love
to know what your thoughts are using the military to
secure our border. I mean, in Mexico, they have a
connection in the highest levels of government to these cartel groups.
Narco terrorism seems to be as big of a threat
to safety globally as Islamic terrorism or any other kind
of terrorism. Your thoughts on the Pentagon getting involved in

(19:41):
border security.

Speaker 6 (19:43):
We have to be very careful obviously with the law
throughouting apostacommatatis. I am well aware of that. The Constitution
says that we're not supposed to use the federal government
in our in our military uh to defend our border.
That's why we have a national go with that said,
we have been under attack for the past four years

(20:05):
by China, by the cartels running our running our federal border,
and fitnall that has destroyed the lives of thousands of
Americans in this country. So the fact that we're taking
a different look at this to have a strong show
of force, to show that we mean business and we're
going to take the fight to them and those enemies,
both foreign and domestics that want to see harm to

(20:26):
this country. The fact that Pete is going down to
the border is outstanding because see, this border issue is
far more than than a domestic issue. It is a
It is a existential threat to our way of life,
and the military is in charge of stopping federal existential threats.
To our way of life. And so for those people
that don't want to see us take a heavy hand

(20:48):
to stop this to save American lives, well then they're wrong.
And i'llso tell you this too. You're welcomed. For those
people that don't like this, you're welcome because we're saving
your life and your children's lives and your grandchildren's lives.
We're operating in your best interest. So if you don't
like it, again, well by, But this is in direct

(21:10):
of the country for the next four years, and we're
going to wake up. We're going to see Crown down,
We're going to see fitting all down, and we're also
going to see these cartels not controlling our southern's border
any longer. But the time this next four years is up.
And I dare anybody to argue with me, to tell
me it's a bad thing.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
Boy, I totally agree with that. All right, One more
quick question for you, nothing to do with politics. Wesley's
a friend of mine. I just wonder what he thought
of this stuff. Wesley and I both grew up in
the nineties. Nirvana got back together on Thursday to raise
money for the fire in South California. Beyonce just got
the Best Country Album Grammy and Kanye West showing up

(21:47):
at the Grammys with his naked wife. I know you're
a politician, but you dabble in pop culture. You've been
on Joe Rogan's podcast before. Would you think all this, Wesley?

Speaker 6 (21:56):
You know you up is down and down is up
if you feel about it. And and look what Kanye's
white had on last night. I saw that and my
first thought was, I mean, look, get serious here. That's
completely an inappropriate for a setting like that. Wow, I'm

(22:17):
sure that's an interesting look. That doesn't look terrible. It's
a terrible look for our young people if we're going
to start sitting sitting city. Example, to somebody that has
two daughters, that's not how you show up to a
to an event like that.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Boy, it is weird to think you've had the number
one Christian album.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Wesley Hunt. The website is Wesley for Texas dot com.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
If you are from Southeast Texas, if you're from anywhere
in this state, consider going to Wesley for Texas dot com.
Make a donation. They're always looking for people to volunteer.
Lesley any closing thoughts, my man, hey, brother.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
Let's keep the fight Thank you, Kittie for all you're doing.
We are the tide in this country and we are
watching it happen in real time. It's because of voices
like yours in Red Blooded American that just won our
country back and returned back to a sense of normally.
We got four years to do this. Let's keep it going.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
I love it. Folks.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
If you ever, if you missed a second of this
interview and you want to hear what Elsie said, you'll
be able to catch this Wesley Hunt interview in the
news breaks on our sister station k TI Rich. We'll
replay it tomorrow morning on the Walton Johnson Show, and
as always, you can get it on our podcast.

Speaker 8 (23:27):
You're listening to Pursuit of Happiness radio band in China,
Iran and Communists occupy at Austin, Texas.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
All right, so Mark Zuckerberg says he misses the og
Facebook and he wants to bring it back, and judging
by his new look, Zuckerberg misses OG hip hop fashion
as well.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Hi, everybody, welcome back and coming up in a little bit.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Brandon Waltons is stopping by from Texas scorecard dot Com.
We may have news about what's going on with the
school choice movement. So that'll be happening very soon. But
before it does, first this.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
And now a woman's thoughts celebrating the end of dry January.

Speaker 9 (24:06):
Wow, dry January is over. Think of all the things
I survived without alcohol, snow days with the kids, sick
days with the kids, just being around the kids in general.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
This calls for a celebration. Nuh, how convenient.

Speaker 9 (24:25):
It's February, the calendar version of wine o'clock. See you
in a year, respectable Janie. I tell you not to
get too crazy, but we both know that won't happen,
since you're boring as hell even with the alcohol.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
Yeah, and that was a woman's thoughts celebrating the end
of dry January.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Brypart dot com today reporting that compared to January of
last year, far left CNN has dropped double digits in
the ratings, fourteen percent of their already minuscule audience. They
say that the uh, the viewership on Fox News is
six times higher than what it is on CNN.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
MSNC did even.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
Worse as far as percentages, but still draws more viewers
than CNN.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
So that's the latest report from them.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
Fox News absolutely crushing the viewership on CNN. If you
combined all the people watching CNN and MSNBC together, it's
still not as many people as are watching Fox News.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
So how are things at NBC.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Well, Breitbart dot Com today detailing that Chuck Todd, NBC's
chief political analyst and former Meet the Press host, is
leaving NBC News after twenty years.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Oh that's sad.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
I hate to see him go, said nobody, ever, because
nobody really cares. There's a reason why these guys' careers
are over right. These are journalists, They're supposed to be reporters,
and yet they're people that push fake news on us.
The Kyle Rittenhouse hoax, for example, the Covington Catholic school
kids hoax, the Jesse Smollett hoax, the Russian collusion hoax,
Arlington Cemetery hoax, Kamala Is never America's borders are hoax,

(25:59):
the Springfield bomb threat hoax, the Elon Musk Nazi salute hoax.
There's only one former member of the mainstream corporate media
who has left the corporate media and become worth a crap,
Mark Halpern. Halprin was once a regular on MSNBC's Morning Joe.
Now he's doing his own thing, and it's fantastic. If
you want to know what the world will look like

(26:19):
with an actual journalist doing actual journalism by way of
experience and intelligence and trustworthy sources, look no further than
what Mark Halprin is doing these days. Check him out,
go find him on X. He's actually doing real journalism.
Maybe Chuck Todd will change, maybe he'll remain the guy
engaging in McCarthyism.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
It doesn't matter, but one thing's for sure. People became
bored with him a long time ago. He's been at
NBC News since two thousand and seven, where he became
the political director. Then he became the host to Meet
the Press. He hasn't hosted Meet the Press in a while.
Did you know that most people don't meet Most people
don't watch it anymore because now they have a DEI

(27:00):
higher named Kristin Welker. Todd used to have quite a
bit of influence over the national news conversation.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Those days are long gone.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
NBC has obviously sidelined him for the sin of being
a white guy, and of course his own bias and dishonesty,
of stripping him of any moral authority.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
No one listens to these people anymore. They're irrelevant. They've
us a.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Lacking following on social media, bad viewership. There's a reason why,
weirdly enough, local talk radio stations have more followers than
some of these guys.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
It's just remarkable.

Speaker 7 (27:32):
We could certainly slow the aging process if aging had
to pass its way through. Slow ass Congress, take another vacation,
Why don't you Kenny Webster's pursuit of happiness.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
Okay, So the FDA approved the first ever non opioid
painkiller in over twenty years. They've been claimed that this
can be used to relieve headaches. I kind of think
the best way to avoid a headache is just stay
off social media.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
That'd be my advice. Then you don't have to take
any weird drug.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Speaking of the FDA, they are recalling breadcrumbs. Great now,
Howell orphans who escaped from a witch find their way
back to Hansel and Gretel's house. That's terrible. Hi, I'm
Kenny West you thanks for turning on your radio. We
live in a society in a state called Texas. Maybe
you've heard, and there's a lot happening in the state.

(28:20):
In fact, people are still pretty mad about the Dustin
Burroughs Texas House speakership announcement. Because this guy had all
the Democrats vote for him, none of the conservative Republicans
voted for him.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Somehow he wins.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Somehow the Democrats get to decide who the Texas House
Speaker is and not grassroots conservatives. And then in the
wake of that happening, we come to find out, oh,
by the way, the new rules for this session, this
legislative session, were all rules.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
That the Democrats wanted.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
In fact, apparently the rules were written by Democrat lawyers.
Imagine that and even more frustrating. In the aftermath of
all of this, the San Antonio Express comes out with
this fake news article saying, the only reason why you
think conservatives on social media are mad about the Texas
Speaker of the House and the new roles is because
of bot farms on the internet. Of course, it's all

(29:14):
fake news. Here with his analysis and his take on it.
It's Brandon Waltons of Texas scorecard dot Com. Brandon, let's
start with this. Are is it real outrage or conservatives
actually mad?

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Or is it just fake bot farms on social media?

Speaker 6 (29:28):
Well?

Speaker 10 (29:28):
I know a lot of very real people that are
not happy with the fact that Democrats got to choose
the Speaker of the House and that Democrats are essentially
running the show right now in the Texas House, despite
the fact that Republicans have actually gained their majority in
Texas in the last election. But it was funny, it
was wild to see this story put out last week
where you've got, you know, literally this fake news story.

(29:51):
I mean, I don't know how else you describe it.
That's trying to make it seem like, oh, any frustration
with that, Well, that's just because you know, they're Russian
bots or something, which is absolutely crazy, especially you know,
knowing as I know, you know, lots of people that
are rightfully upset with what has happened over the last

(30:11):
couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Yeah, no kidding, And obviously it's not getting any better.
I think a lot of people are frustrated by it. Yeah,
you always wonder, you know, if Conservatives are winning all
these elections, if they're the ones winning all these races,
why does it feel like Conservatives don't control the government
in the state of Texas. I'll give you an example
of what I'm talking about, you guys, Ever, report today
about the Texas Ethics Commission. The Texas Ethics Commission is,

(30:36):
among other things, investigating the Texas Renaissance Festival the possibility
that they may have bribed a local politician. Well, how
do they bribe a politician? According to the report I'm seeing,
they spent two hundred and fifty dollars on barbecue plates
at a local political candidate's fundraiser. Now, come on, I
don't want politicians to get bribed, but two hundred and
fifty dollars for barbecue that hardly seems like it's worth

(30:59):
the Texas Ethics Commission's time.

Speaker 10 (31:02):
Well, there's a lot of these little cases. The Texas
Epics Commission, which were set up under the auspices of, Okay,
you know, we're going to regulate, you know, ethics of
candidates and office holders. Instead has turned into this agency
that's often wielded against trapping, you know, just normal citizens
in the the web of paperwork and bureaucracy and all

(31:24):
these these sort of tiki TACKI finds while ignoring actual
ethical breaches from lawmakers themselves. This example we've got up
on our website talks about literally a case where some
workers at the Renaissance festival, you know, bought some food
from a candidate's fundraiser, uh, you know, just to eat,
and then they were ultimately fined by the Texas Ethics Commission.

(31:46):
That's after being drug through the whole process. And there's
a lot of examples of this. Literally had one candidate
who was who was fined because they like, you know,
they owned an ice cream shop and they drove the
ice cream truck, you know, had it parked outside you know,
their campaign event, and then that was that was a

(32:08):
fine worthy event that the Texas Ethics CONSHI had to
go after. I mean there's a number of these where
you're wondering, Okay, is this really a good use of
time for this agency or should it instead be actually
focusing on the real ethical breaches that we see happen
all the time.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Yeah, it's absurd.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
Amy's ice Cream was fined one thousand dollars because the
owner parked her company's ice cream truck outside of a
campaign event. Who cares, I do not care. Yeah, we
do have the big news today in the state of Texas.
Governor Abbott hosted the State of the State last night,
you know, basically State of the Union and he issued
seven items for the legislature to begin addressing immediately. I'm

(32:46):
gonna guess one of them is probably school choice.

Speaker 10 (32:50):
One of them is school choice.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
Yes.

Speaker 10 (32:52):
And so basically for the first sixty days a session,
which we're now, you know, about three weeks into it,
for the first sixty days, they can't actually pass any
bills unless they go evenor deems them an emergency item.
And yesterday we got those seven. One of them, of course,
is school choice. That was a top priority of Governor
Greg Abbott last session ultimately didn't pass, but that it
did see Governor Abbott out there campaigning against some of

(33:14):
the Republican incumbents to a post school choice in the
primary elections last year. You've had a lot of turnover.
The Senate's actually prepared to probably pass school choice this week,
maybe as soon as tomorrow, and so Senate's already moving
quickly on that. But in addition to school choice, you
also have some other issues that increased teacher pay, career readiness,

(33:38):
property tax relief, which is something I know that a
lot of folks will be happy to see, as well
as a Texas cyber Command. Seems to be some sort
of a cyber security effort to go after some of
the concerns from countries like China and Iran and Russia,
as well as as well as some other issues like

(34:01):
bail reform making it so that violent offenders can't be
let back out onto the streets.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
All right, So, I mean, honestly, I yeah, I criticize
Abbot quite a bit, but I find most of these
most most of the things he is requesting here in
the addressed that most of his agenda is good. I
do wonder this, and I know this will be unpopular
with the listeners, but we do.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
Why do we need to pay teachers more? Are they?

Speaker 2 (34:25):
I mean I teachers don't get paid enough? Actually they do.
They get paid a lot, don't they.

Speaker 10 (34:31):
Well, people have had that discussion. You've certainly seen that
Lieutenant govern Dan Patrick has also made increased teacher pay
a priority. But meanwhile, to your point, I think that
a lot of folks have been disillusioned with the government
education system and would rather have their their kids pulled
out of public schools altogether. And so there's certainly a
split on that.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (34:51):
I think that what we've.

Speaker 10 (34:52):
Seen more appetite for from conservatives, just anecdotally is maybe
increasing merit based pay for teachers, but that is something
that is often is often rebuffed from teachers.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
Okay, I like the idea merit base pay. I think
it's great, but yeah, I don't think the union's ever
going to get on board with that. Let's talk about
illegal immigrant protests all over the country. These guys are
proving a point we've made over and over again. If
you're at an anti Trump protest flying a Mexican flag,
you're exactly what's wrong with Get out of here. You
don't belong here, You're not you're not loyal to America.

(35:28):
You got to go. A lot of our listeners probably
saw video of this happening in Dallas yesterday, but they
may not know that in Flugerville it also happened anti
ice protesters actually delayed construction in Flugerville.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
What happened there?

Speaker 10 (35:42):
Yeah, So Flugerville, this was a protest that took place
outside of one of the ice facilities essentially, and they
you know, you had a group, you know, a small group,
but a certainly a loud group where you've got this
ice facility that's under construction and you have these protesters
actually getting in the way of the whole process, and

(36:04):
so that happened in Plugerville. Of course, we saw what
happened in Dallas. Sarah Gonzalez, who does a show with
US at Texas Scorecard as well as The Blaze, was
up there and got some incredible video of some of
these ridiculous protesters. Like you said, like, you're coming to
this thing, You've got a Mexican flag, and what are
they protesting? The idea that they don't want to go

(36:25):
back to Mexico. You know, it all seems a little
jumbled to me.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
Yeah, if you're loyal to Mexico, then you should want
to go back there. If you're flying a Mexican flag
but you're mad that we're going to send you to Mexico,
then maybe you're an idiot. I watched that video of
Sarah Gonzalez, friend of the show. We love Sarah. We've
had her on this show. I've been on her show before.
She's a great girl. Works up at the Blaze. It
was her birthday this weekend and in the video I

(36:50):
saw somebody was like trying to rub a flag in
her face. And I couldn't tell Brandon, but apparently that
was a woman.

Speaker 10 (36:59):
Okay, I have to go back and see it. I
couldn't quite tell.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
It's hard to tell because a lot of guys at
breasts nowadays, But that's who that. Yeah, I'd said the
same thing. I was like, who does this guy think
he is? And then someone in the comment section said
that's a woman. Like if you say so, I do
not believe it anyway. Brandon Waltons texasquarecard dot com is
the website.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
Check it out.
