car show at Morrissette Showground Sunday, the eleventh of August.
That's this Sunday to raise funds for a young mum
who's fighting a battle with MS.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
That's not on this Sunday, isn't it August?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Sorry August, So you've got six weeks to go. She's
such a wonderful young woman who's done so much for
the community, and she has raised thousands of dollars for
the West Back Helicopter Service over the years, and she
now needs help Karina is a young mum five children
under ten years of age and she's struggling. So wow,
that's hard. She's got MS. Wow, she needs stem cell

(01:07):
replacement to help change her life. If you look at
the GoFundMe link, you can read her story and you'll
understand why I'm trying to help her. And he sent
things through here. So cars for Karina. It's called August
eleven at Morrissett Showground eight am to one pm. All
proceeds are going to Karina Farrell towards her fight with MS.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Oh, we can plage that. That's easy. Yeah, that's easy. Peace.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
You know what is interesting too, is I did it
this story. There's something about this that just think, how
hard is that?

Speaker 1 (01:38):
I know it's to be a young woman. It's like
a Kenny Rodgers cell.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Young woman battling MS has raised funds for everybody else
over the years. She's got did you under the age
of ten?

Speaker 1 (01:50):
She raised a bunch of money for the for the West.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Back Helicopter Service over the years, and so people are saying, hey,
let's help her out. But you know what, let's talk
to Mark because I think there might be there might
be more to this story.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
For some strings.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
I don't know. I'd just like to know more about Serena.
That story has really touched me.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
And that's Mark with an e. Hello Mark, good day, guys.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
How are you very well? Is that?

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Mark? Is that a typo from the megn.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
It's not? Oh well, that's good to hear that on
the wireless?

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Thank you, Mark.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
So tell us a bit more about Karina. How old
is she's?

Speaker 3 (02:24):
She reminds me of my daughter. She's about thirty years
ago I met him. They raised money for a lot
of charities by doing their passion and their car and
a few years for Volkswagens and they put on Doves
by the lake and a beautiful young family, you know,
they had four kids and one on the way, and

(02:44):
they saving deposit for a house. And anyway, she had
a problem with her arm, and she lost all use
of her arm when she was pregnant with the last one.
And then she had a fit and a fall and
she realized that, you know, there's something wrong. They discovered

(03:05):
that she's got their mess and this poor girl, she's
it's fifty thousand dollars she's raised for Westpac Helicopter over
the last last what five six years. I think it
is wow and.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
I am at ms at this at this time in
her life, just so hard and how is it affecting her?
Is she can she walk?

Speaker 3 (03:27):
She can She's on and off. It depends on what
David is like. She was in hospital last year, I
think for a total of about five months, and where
they are up there at Muscle Brook. By the time
they get to the hospital, it's a two hour return
trip and her husband Bo has to take the kid
back with them forwards, you know, to try and see mum.
She's spent Mother's Day. I think in hospital she's just

(03:49):
a lovely young lady and she's so humble, like she
was teaching people with disabilities in stomach rops, you know,
and all the money they raised, even even three weeks ago,
even when she's on a walking stick. Three weeks ago,
she was up still raising money for Westpact because she
had a boating accident and that stayed the light. So

(04:12):
I think she feels I think she feels loyal and
dedicated to Westpac and she's still raising money for them,
and she's struggling. They are struggling. They're literally struggling, you know,
And so is that family and friends, and where.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Do you fit in this mark? You related to the family?

Speaker 3 (04:28):
No, no, no, no. I put on a couple of
car shows here and there and raised money for charities
and stuff, and I met them and I just I
just fell in love with their family, you know, And
then all this happened, and I was heartbroken. I thought,
this is not fair.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
No, it's not fair. And the money plugged the show absolutely,
And I know that they want some of that money
to go for stem cell treatment.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
It's not gonna cure what she's got, but she's when
she's been paying, she feels like she's been so burst
in like a bath of cold water with electric shocks.
She's now suffered two strokes, I think in the last
few years. But she pulled herself back up again. You know,
she'll she lose one side of her face and then
she will she'll she'll get better. And she pulled herself

(05:16):
back up. But you know, she's eventually could end up
in a wheelchair. And the kids, the kids are looking
after the younger kids like they're changing nappy for them.
They're getting a breakfast, you know, and they've got close
standling members who who help, and they're they're financially getting ruined,
you know, from all by medical bills and stuff like that.
He had a good job, but all their money is

(05:36):
just winning with Dwindley and they need about eighty thousand dollars.
She's got to go funky page. I think it's up
to twenty four, eight hundred and eighty eight people if
they go buy a coffee instead of buying a coffee
for themselves. But stack eight dollars on there, for you
only need a few thousand people to get the money
back up.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
You know, I'll put some money where where How do
I get onto the go fund me perch?

Speaker 3 (05:59):
I think we've got those us here much if you
if you guys could put that on your on your page,
that be wonderful. But if people won't look for it,
it's Karina's and there's fight stencil treatment. If you're eating this,
Google it comes up, there's a picture of the there
and a whole story about her and the children. You know.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
It's Karina with a double R for bringing it to
our attention, because that's what happens, and we've done this
in the past. We just start as simple as this,
and then from little things, big things grow. What a story.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Thank you, thanks for getting in touch with.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
It's just if you, if you personally better, your heart
will just go out to see what they're going through.
That's all.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Yeah, well you've described that well, Mark, Thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Thanks guys, and all that information on our socials today
