Speaker 1 (00:01):
And Amanda jam Nation doctacka. We make food from TikTok
and we eat it. We're in the kitchen today.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
I'm making something today called spamdy chok bars, spamdy chalk bars,
and it's like a candy bar, but it's made with
spam and made with love. I'm going to start I
putting on some gloves because I don't want to just
handle spam. But in case all that jellyish mank comes out,
here we go. I'm going to start by opening.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Just saying when you've put those gloves on before, we
went wear.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Okay, and start by opening a can of spam goodness
and well it smells like dog food. No offense to
the spam people. How do I get it out of
the tin?

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Give me?

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Let me try and shake that out of the tin.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Oh there we go, chumpy all right.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
So I start by slicing this into bar like slight
like thickness yep, And I'll cut them in half again
because these are going to be little candy bars. So
oh man, look at that.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
So you're making them a bit thin?

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Do you think thin? Do you want it thicker than that?
You'd have to live near a constant stream of water
to get rid of the salt. That'll do us. What
do you reckon that? Many?

Speaker 1 (01:13):
You may use the whole block of spam. It's terrible.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
She had no one ever.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
I can't watch your chop stuff. So that chef from
the Muppets. It's like someone else has got control of
your hands.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Oh, I've got controller. You worry, Brendan, while I've got
a knife. Be careful. So what we do now is
we take half a cup of maple syrup and some
brown sugar and we mix that into a bowl. Mix
that together in a bowl. And that's what I'm doing,
our brown sugar and maple syrup, and then I dip
them into this before I sprinkle this over it. Let
me just mixy mixy all that together. And you notice

(01:46):
that's what chefs say on their instagrams. Mixy, mixy, mixy,
mixy mitosis.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Okay, Now I get my spam battons batons and dip
them in and then I'm going to put them into
my air fryer.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Do you want to give you a hand?

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Oh, you don't have gloves on. Look at you. Don't
splash them in because they'll get me. Okay, I'm going
to put them all in, if that's what you're suggesting,
and just dip them around like that, cover them in
this sweetness. So we've got the salt and the sweet
and what's going to happen after this. They're going to
cook for eight minutes. Then I'm going to put a
stick in them and dip them in chocolate and little

(02:24):
nuts and things. Oh really, yeah, and then we're going
to That's why they're like, OHI that's why they're called
spamdy bars. It's like a candy bar, but spam.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Yes, thank you. Trouble, I have no trouble. All right.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
That's a knife and.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
You're it's going to go in and I'm putting that
on for eight minutes.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
That go okay, off it goes two.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Hundred degrees minutes in the air fry. Next step, when
we return, they'll be cool enough to handle and I'll
put a shover stick in them and decorate them with.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Some sweety bits and we'll be enjoying these spammed.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yar After that, they have to go into the fridge.
So there's a couple of steps today. But I'm intrigued
to know what they taste like.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
In the past.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
We've had many strange concoctions, but I would must be okay,
this one is probably the most elaborate concoction we've ever made.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Not elaborate, but we've done some elaborate things. There's just
a variety of steps involved here. This is called the
spam dy chok bar. So what we've done so far,
We've got a tin of spam and slice the spam
up into batons that are sort of the size of
a Snickers bar, saye, and then other.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Small Snickers bar. It's like a t MoU version of
a Sneakers bar, right, and.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Then I've covered that in maple syrup and brown sugar,
and I've put it in the air fry They've been
cooking in the air fryer. I'm going to get them
out now. So what we do now is we cover
this in melted chocolate. So I'm going to scoop melted
chocolate over that. Just douse it in melted choc put
that on my little tray because this then is going
to go into the fridge. Okay, So there's one. We

(03:58):
do a few at a time. Right, Look, oh, it's
still quite warm. Do you want to try but have
a bit one have a bite of one.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
If it is, let me help you out. Let me
ease your burden, brother.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Before the chocolate goes on, Just to see what the
maple syrup tastes like. It's one in here. Eat this.
See what you think. It's a bit warm, So be careful.
What do you think? Nice maple syrup and brown sugar
and spam.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
It tastes like something you'd eat in America? Does it?

Speaker 2 (04:26):
He had a good thing or a bad thing? You
didn't have a heart.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Attack, I think, I ordered saying, hey, what do you do?
I not eat that? What are you doing?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
So what happens now is I've dipped them all in chocolate.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
And you've made a right mess.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Now we get some macadamia chips. I've been nibbling these.
I just stick though. Look have a look now, yep,
I forgot to What I also have to do is
put a stick up at the potpot I'm not doing
about you, okay, So I put macedamia chips all over
the top of it.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
You are not doing that with any flair whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
And now I'm getting a stick. Watch what I do
with this, Brendan. Yep, I put the stick in the
bottom to make like.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
I don't want to be the guy that tells you
what to do. But why didn't you put the sticks
on the spam first and then dip them in the chocolates?
I forgot then you wouldn't have had such a mess.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
You know, I'm just going to stick these in. So anyway,
what happens now sticks are going into there, so they
look like little lollipops, and those are going to go
into the fridge, and I reckon probably in an hour's
time they'll are firmed up and be yummy and delicious.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Diarize that everybody, or.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Diarrhealize that if you prefer okay, well, I look forward
to that. Spamdy chalk bars is what we've got today,
candy bars, but with spam. So I got a tin
of spam. I sliced it up. I put some sugar
and maple syrup on those and put that into the
air fryer. Once they were cooked, I covered them in

(05:47):
chocolate and covered the middle maceadamia chips. They know they're
on sticks. They've been in the fridge for about an hour.
Time to try one. Here's yours, Tom.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Right, Muma's dish it out.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
It looks like something you get at the Easter show.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yeah, actually, yes, it's good Easter show food.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
I'll take that one. It's a bit smaller. You take
this big yours looks like a big Snickers bar.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
It looks appetite to stick.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Inside and go No, no, no, nothing, nothing will disguise
the taste of spam. I can't do it. Not in
all the chocolate in the world.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Won't do that.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Are you still going? Really told? What do you think?

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Well? What you like? Very good? Tom Young? Excuse me?

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Does the police department need a detective because we've got
one right here with you. This I don't know. It
started off really good. I put it in the pate category.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
See I like pate, but I don't want to come.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Out chocolate starts off good then taste like but.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Tastes like cat food plus dog food plus chocolate.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Don't waste your time, waste your start.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
That you do the moldy bacteria are invested, slab of
meat fall off.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
The results to much could cover that in Brad Pitt
and it would still be spanned.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
We are dedicated three hours to that. This is what
we do. We test, That's what we do.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Okay, they can't all be winners ingreat. Sometimes things have
sounded drip for like our pineapple and cheese casseroles just
sounded terrible and it was great. So you just don't know.
Now now we know.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
