Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yes, there was sixty thousand people at Adelaide over last
night watching Ed Cheum, but there was really only one
boys reaction that we were interested in, and it's twelve
year old Callum. And Callum was with autism and he
took himself, Tiana and Alexander, his sister and brother and
mum and dad along to see Ed sheeron. It was
our pleasure to be able to hand over those tickets.
Nicole is with us now, please tell me. He loved

(00:22):
every minute, Nicole.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
He had an absolute ball. He was just so excited
and he just he was off and to the music.
He was absolutely loved it.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
And now when we got to meet Callum, obviously, and
for those that don't know with autism, it can be
really overwhelming, like big changes of environments and everything else,
and like the staging and the lights and the fireworks.
How did he manage all that?

Speaker 2 (00:49):
He actually surprised me because like I took his headphones
and no he didn't want them on. He said, no,
I want to listen to everything, and he just oh,
he was just yeah, absolutely and all. He just absolutely
had a ball, loved it.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
He told us when we hand over the tickets. So
he didn't want to sing in front of us. He's
going to save it for the concept. Did he did?
He belt out a few of the numbers word for word.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
A little bit, but yeah he it took a few videos,
so yeah, so I can send him to you. But yeah,
he's just yeah, he was really getting into it. So
it was great, all right?

Speaker 1 (01:27):
What was his favorite song then, Nicole?

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Oh, of course Shivers. And then he's saying Bad Habits
hasn't come on yet. Mama said he will come. And
then when Bad Habits come on, that was it. You know,
he just was just yeah, you know, it's just excellent.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
So you get home last night, Nicole, I imagine nearly
eleven o'clock at least after an Edge Sheering concert.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
It was after midnight.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
He would have been buzzing. Has he had a wink
of sleep.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
He probably didn't get to sleep until about one thirty.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Can imagine? Well, the deal is to Callum and Tiana
and Alexander to take a breath, be nice to your
mum and dad because they're also tired, all right, They
had to get your home. Have the most amazing day,
and I'm sure you're going to be reliving that is
that the first time you've been able to get to
a big consolate that as an entire family.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Basically, yes, yes, because usually I sort of just go
on my own sort of thing.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
So yeah, well we're absolutely so so that you can
have those memories together and give him all of our love.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Oh definitely will. And thank you so much to you guys.
You guys are absolutely awesome.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Out at all leisure, our pleasure, all right. And he's
a movie. He's in TV Star now too, you.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
TV.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
I know.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
It'll be asking for autographs. You will have to have
a beautiful day. And thank you so much for trusting
us with Callum story, and thank you.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
So much for everything. It was just absolutely awesome.

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
