Check out the Fit and Petros Papadakas. That's what we like to hear here.

(00:21):
They are on your home of theLA Dodgers in Think and down the
Green, Petrosin Money, Trosin Moneys. The world is full of people who
mean no harm and cause a greatdeal of it, like all that dribbling
around in the AAU. That's right. The great Don McClain is in today

(00:46):
on the Petrosen Money Show. There'snobody better than Don McClain putting in hard
work. Second day this week,co hosting I'm the so Cal Toyota Dealers
celebrity co host Michael Phone. Oneof three jobs he's doing right now.
What's the first job? CAA secondjob, Clippers Television, still going,

(01:12):
third job, Great sports Talk,Don McClay, I didn't think about it
in those terms. You're right,I do have three jobs going right.
You only got three jobs. SundayClippers Mavericks. They host the Dallas team,
and that's gonna be on eleven fiftytonight. We got Dodgers, we

(01:34):
got Mets, we got superpower Possein the house. Yoshinobu Yamamoto is going
to pitch tonight Dodgers on deck whenTim Kate starts at six, first pitch
at seventy ten, and David Vasseiwill join us this hour. Who does
Tim have on the show tonight?Well, I got Kirsten Watson joining me,
Rick Monday and Steven Nelson joining me. Davill join me on the show.

(01:56):
I'll dive deeper into this pitching matchup. Dave usually goes and gets the
the guy. Dave does the oneon one, high and tight interview.
If you want me to stick aroundand take some calls with you on the
pregame show, Tim, I will. I love that. Don In fact,
tomorrow I'm doing pre end posts becauseDave's not in So if you want
to do a little dotch talk withme, love it is that after the
game, after the game, whichtime would that be? All these games
are going quick, so if youcan hear about three, we're good.

(02:17):
So Dave's taking the afternoon off again. Yeah, he's got a little something
going on, So what like acallin Ostipe or yep, Callinostivie, that's
what it is. I don't know. He's a little young for that,
but we're gonna have him on inthe very next segment. We're gonna ask
him and we'll do the lessons learnedand all that stuff. We took calls
in the last segment for the secondtime this week, which is like the

(02:39):
second time in the last ten years, because Don McClain himself requested it,
and I don't want to say itwent badly. I'm gonna give it.
I'm gonna give it a beat.I was gonna ask you, P Do
you feel like it's changed your attitudetowards taking calls at all moving forward the
rest of the year. No,because when Matt's Matt hates it, so,
you know, and I don't loveit. So it's a tough call,

(03:04):
you know, Like it's like havinga friend that really loves Japanese food
but your wife doesn't. You're kindof into it. Right when my wife's
here, it becomes a much moredifficult prospect. Anyway, I got you,
uh, but I thought it workedout well. I thought everybody was
happy. Did everybody feel good.Ronnie got to fade a guy out,

(03:24):
Kid's got to answer the phones. And that was just how quick Ronnie is
on the trick. I could havehad another one, too, well,
he could have, but you knowwhat, we were prudent about it,
and I think that was the rightthing to do. All Right, it's
time for the song. I mean, excuse me. The word of the
day. The word of the day. Today's word of the day is rekindling.

(03:46):
Rekindling. You know, the EverlyBrothers said it best when they said
breaking up is hard to do?Was that them? It was? And
it uh. And you know,as a man who likes the cowboy music,
the more modern cowboy music, theever He's really really towed that rock
and roll country line for many, many years and wrote some of the great
anthems in all of the fifties.Kathy's Clown, if it's a fifties song,

(04:11):
might be sixties. I love Kathy'sClown anyway. Breaking up is hard
to do, and it has beenvery difficult to break up for Michael Jordan's
son Marcus Jordan and Scottie Pippen's exwife Larsa Pippen of the Real Housewives of
Miami. They've been dating. Michaeldoes not approve. Shockingly, the goat

(04:34):
does. He's not into it.That's surprising, right, And they broke
up, attacked each other on Instagram, immediately got back together. They did
broke up again, longer hiatus untilthey were seen on a beach together yesterday
or the day before, soaking upthe sun. It looks like a full

(04:58):
rekindling. And he's not a toget away from the kiss of the Spider
woman, if you know what I'msaying. Now, have you heard about
this in your basketball circles? Haveyou heard about this relationship? Don No?
Is it the talk of the town. No, it's not. You
got to be kidding me. ButI'm not on Instagram or anything like that.
Yeah, but like when you're outthere working out guys, the guys

(05:20):
come up to you and be like, Hey, what up, big work
dad? You heard about this starringon Marcus Jordon? You need nothing like
that. Well, he isn't withus, but Marcus no, their son
Scottie Pippen Junior. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, he works out in
our gym. So Marcus Jordan's wouldbe step son if they ever got married.

(05:42):
I think so well. We hada listener sadly, and we do
not condone this yet we play itall the time. We had a listener
that ran up on Larsa Pippen andMarcus Jordan at a RAM game and took
this video while he screamed at them, oh lord, wait wait wait her
name's not Laura. But he triedhis best, Oh Laura, that's what

(06:04):
you're doing. You were the boymy son, you are cal Molla meg
too. You go to the mothermummy. And they just looked back like
at first they were smiling, like, oh, oh, that's what you're
doing. The boy my son,you are Calato, you go to the

(06:29):
mother mummy. Pretty accurate stuff though, And we have listeners, we have
eyes everywhere done. Great sports talkis everywhere. Great sports were talking marriage
at one point they were they hada podcast. They had a podcast here
on the iHeart app. Separation anxietywas what it was called. I don't

(06:55):
know when was the last time theydid an episode. Maybe that's why they
were together. Here's my number numberof the day. Number of the d
P is seven. Earlier today,Duke Ford Sean Stewart, former top twenty
recruit in the country, announced thathe plans to enter the transfer portal just
like everyone else, becoming the seventhDuke player to transfer since the end of

(07:18):
the season. Wow, you hadin Philipowski and Jared McCain both declared for
the NBA Draft instead of Ryan Young, who is out of eligibility. Duke
currently has two scholarship players on theirroster. What happened? John shires three
to the top ten freshmen from highschool coming in, including Cooper Flag.

(07:41):
I don't think Tim your last sentenceon here was but he better start working
the transfer portal to fill out theroster. Yeah. I don't think Duke
needs to worry about filling out theirroster. You don't think he's it's Duke
in his off as freaking out rightnow. I do not remember when Elton
Brand left Duke early and everybody wasfreaking out like it was Corey mcgetty did

(08:01):
it. I was like, ohmy god, Yeah, Duke, I
don't think we'll ever struggle to havegood player. Ever. What does this
say about college basketball? When Dukehas got seven dudes transferring not going to
the NBA. That's two other guys. One guy loses eligibil And I answer
that they've got ten guys leaving theirroster because young people are idiots. Well
if you well, not only that, and they're susceptible to idiot older people.

(08:22):
But if you really want to talkabout it, here's why. Because
Duke recruits at such a high levelof high school players. So if you
get to Duke and you're not inthe rotation, you're going to be out
of the rotation quickly, and they'regoing to recruit right over the top of
you. Basically, these guys thatmay have been almost like, hey,
roll out yourself, So you shouldn'thave gone to Duke if you're not for

(08:45):
certain that you can play at thatlevel. It'd be a starter or a
rotation player. A lot of guysjust hear Duke, Oh, Duke's recruit
me, I'm going, and thenthey get there, they don't play,
and then they get recruited, recruitedover the top of And now that the
the transfer portal is so prevalent, you're getting recruited over by other high school
guys, and now they're bringing inportal guys. So it's not surprising that

(09:09):
they have that many players leaving becausethey have that many players coming in.
Does it feel like their program isfalling off at all without coach k or
it's kind of just the same thing, maybe a lot. I think their
brand is still the same in termsof how it's viewed. The recruiting look,
I think yo. I think there'sstill time to see what type of

(09:30):
a coach John Shire is going tobecome. But he's obviously not coach k.
But in terms of how Duke isviewed in the world of college basketball,
I don't think that's changed. Copysthe Everly's uh did not write breaking
up is hard to do that, what's Neil Sedaka? I knew That's why
it threw me for a loop pee. Well they did it though. They

(09:52):
did the song right, I mean, didn't they No, all right if
they didn't do this so and I'mreally yeah, they did the song right
here. The Everleas did do thesong. Yeah, in the nineteen fifties.
Yeah, leave me alone, people, everybody's such an a hole.
This song of the day, You'rewelcome, Petros. Secret of the Sea

(10:16):
is the title of our song ofthe Day from Billy Bragg and Wilco.
Because we've finally arrived at a FrogmanFriday on the Petros and Money Show along
with best friend Don McClain, whohas returned to help unlock the secret of
the Sea with three hours of greatsports talk, prepping you for Dodger Baseball,
where they'll meet and greet the NewYork Mets at Dodger Stadium and hopefully

(10:39):
the Dodgers can get back on thewinning track over the weekend. We'll see
and our friend Tim Cats will startit off for you with your Morongo Casino
Dodgers on Deck program, beginning promptly, it's six o'clock, okay, David
Massey will join us NAXT with thelatest from Chavez Revie cracking everybody. Welcome

(11:01):
back, Petrson, Money on afrog Man Friday. Happy to be with
you. Don McClaine is in thehouse and we're watching the play in Yeah
we are. Haimi Hawk is outthere running around Kobe White's afro, bouncing,
enjoying. Nikolavovich a usc trojan justgot a bucket, but joining us

(11:22):
right now. It is time forthe one and only David Vesse. Tonight,
the Dodgers meet the Mets and greetthe Mets at Chavez Ravine. Yoshinobu
Yamamoto is pitching. Dave is allover it tonight, Preave already at the
yard? Yeah, yeah, that'swhat they say in the yard. Are
you there, Davy at the yardalready? Yeah, I've been here since
two thirty. Why, that's whatI'm a responsible reporter is supposed to get

(11:48):
to a baseball stadium. It's notlike the NBA. You show up ninety
minutes before chip off and talk tothe guys. Start with your smart guy.
What do you do for four tohalf hours before the game starts?
All right, Well, there's thedifference between access and the NBA and access
in Major League Baseball. Major leagueclubhouses open three and a half hours before

(12:13):
for his pitch, while in theNBA they open up an hour and a
half before tipoff and you're kicked outwith forty five minutes before tipoff. So
that's the biggest difference as far ascovering the NBA and Major League BAB So
what did you do from two thirtyto three thirty? Then you gotta do
some prep, you know, talksome shop while the guys are throwing out

(12:35):
here. Freddy likes to come outfor extra work, Mookie comes out for
extra work. So that's the besttime to catch up with the big time
superstars. And Freddy a rare appearancetaking batting practice outside. He only does
this when he is struggling and struggling. He is hitting just about two hundred
with two extra base hits in hislast twelve games. So wait, David,

(12:58):
all seriousness, I'm an So theseguys they get there at two thirty
for a seven o'clock game everyone orjust a few guys. No, they
don't get here at two thirty. It's a completely different culture than fifteen years
ago. Players get to the stadiumprobably for a seven o'clock game, anywhere

(13:18):
between noon and two o'clock, dependingon really what their physical needs are as
far as the training room and allthat. Yeah. Wow, it's a
lot different, all right. Inthe day, guys would show up at
three o'clock hungover. Is Yamamoto playingtonight? I mean, he starts today.
What do you expect from him?Well, the biggest inning where he's

(13:39):
run into trouble is the first inning. After the first inning, so far
he seems to cruise. So thedanger inning is the first inning and his
agent here again. Joel wolf MarkWalter, the Dodgers principal owner in the
house. So I guess Mets Dodgersbring out the best in everybody. Is
he looking like the highest paid pitcherin the history of baseball early in his

(14:03):
career for the Dodger Okay, no, not at all. Is there any
but like we've talked about, becauseOtani and Yamamoto were signings that were beyond
the baseball. They weren't just aboutbaseball, as you guys know, and
the Dodgers made that very clear attheir inconductory press conferences. He's not a
Garret Cole caliber pitcher, but he'ssomewhere between the number two and the number

(14:28):
three in a rotation. Dave,is there anything to that first inning?
Like, has there been enough gamesthat he's pitched into, Like what pitches
they're calling? Is it just him? Is it nerves? Like has he
talked about what maybe the problem inthe first inning? Well, in his
first start, John, he didadmit nerves got the best of him in
Seoul, Korea, and then insome subsequent starts it feels like maybe he's

(14:52):
a little too predictable with his fastballin the first actually got him on a
two run home run on a hangingfirst pitch perve ball, so maybe deception
is an issue in the first inningthat he needs to improve on it.
What about Walker Balder Dave, when'she coming back? What's the latest on
him and all the rehabs starting andall the different stuff for those that are

(15:15):
trying to keep up with it.Well, last night, Petros, it
was not a great start for WalkerDueler. Less than half of his pitches
were strikes and he only lasted twoand two thirds innings, and he never
got close to eighty pitches. Hethrew somewhere in the sixty eight to sixty
nine pitch range. So I feellike with the way Landon Nax pitched in

(15:37):
his major league debut, he boughtthe Dodgers and Walker Deweler at least one
more rehab start to At this pointin time, it's not about being healthy
but seeing shark. You always talkabout JD. Martinez, when's he coming
back? And why do we care? Well, he's on the Mets.
He was signed by the Mets, and this theories feels very empty without America's

(16:03):
DH back at Dodgers Stadium. Sothere will be no video tribute to a
man that hit thirty three home runs. We drove in one hundred and three
runs. He's not here. He'snot here that he's got a bad back,
he was set back and he isnot active yet. So we missed
JD. Martinez in this three gameseries. But the Dodgers go to New

(16:25):
York in May, so we'll morethan likely see him there. And by
the way, the Mets are ahot team. The Dodgers are catching a
hot Mets team that all of asudden now it is just two games back
in the NL East, so veryimportant for the Dodgers to get back on
track this weekend against a hot Metsteam. David Vasse is our guest at
the Real Underscore DV on Twitter,Spectrum, Sports Net LA, and MLB

(16:49):
Network. But he's our guy hereon Ravio Benbo. Chris Taylor is as
a real bugaboo for a lot ofDodger fans. They don't like watching that
bats because frankly, they're painful towatch. At this point right now,
how long of a leash is heon? And what can the Dodgers do?
Is it that Pie has this guy'sjob to lose? Well with the

(17:11):
Lexi Shaanmanaya on the mound, ChrisTaylor is back in the starting lineup even
though he is won for his firstthirty seven, and Joe Davis now has
walked up to him and put hisarm around Chris Taylor. So wow.
A caller on Dodgers Yeah, so, a caller on Dodger Talk said or
suggested, why don't from the teammateswhen Taylor strikes out put their arm around

(17:36):
Taylor and maybe that will get himout of his slump. Well, Joe
Davis just acquiesced to that request andput his arm around Chris Taylor. So
maybe now Taylor will break out ofhis slump. Why does Joe Davis get
to do it? Why don't didyour show, Dave? If anyone's putting
their arm around Chris Taylor should beyou. Yeah, I'm not putting my

(17:56):
arm around anybody. Nobody wants meto touch them around here. Well,
I guess there's your answer right there. Yeah, David Vasse coming up tonight,
Marango Casino, Dodgers on Deck pregameshow. Do you have any special
guests tonight, Dave? Anybody reallyimportant? Oh? Yeah, a man
that's at the top of the RBIleader board one and only, chaoscar Hernandez

(18:21):
is going to join us on thepregame show tonight, exciting. He's a
great guest. He ask up.And the last thing for you, Dave,
before we let you go, isanybody out there scuttling and talking about
how the idiot Rockies hitting coach wasacting like he was plot flying the plane.
Yeah, we were talking about that. That was number one. If
you're going to do that, whyare you posting it on social media?

(18:42):
Number two? Yeah, that's thegreatest idea, even though it might have
made a pilot cruise control, butstill that's not something everybody needs to see.
No, have you done that andjust not posted it? Absolutely not.

(19:03):
I was just asking, all right, the great David vs. Follow
the rules every time? David veassewith TiO Scar Ti, Oscar Hernandez on
with him on the pregame with TimKates, Morongo Casino, Dodgers on deck.
The Dodgers need to turn it aroundand Timmy Trumpet's in the house,
all right, Dave, have fun, t DA, thank you. Can't
wait to hear TC at six o'clocktonight, Tim Kates TCC. Wasn't that

(19:30):
the guy on Magnum p I.That's right, TC, the guy who
did all the work for Magnum.Yeah, just kind of came in.
I was like, you know, cleaned up everything, just the black guys.
Yeah, TC flew the helicopter.Yeah, that's right, did all
the work. Remember when Magnum pI shot that nun off a ladder turned
out to be a dude. Idon't remember that. That's a great scene.

(19:52):
And they're like, how did youknow the nun? It was a
nun was in disguise and he waslike, nuns don't work on Sunday.
Wo. The nun was like painting. We'll be back with more great sports
talk. Can you just see Vassayflying up playing look at Booze? I
could totally see value. I knowVassay has that video check me out.

(20:17):
I guarantee you that that Vassa hasgone into the cockpit. Maybe not during
flight, but at some point getsgo to me, here is one of
the good guys. Yeah, you'reright, I could totally see that.
Lessons learning great sports Talk and it'sbeen a heck of a week. Survive

(20:40):
in advance, that's us. Staywith us as we finish up a Frogman
Friday all the way till six o'clock. What's cracking everybody. Welcome back,
Petro, send money. Happy tobe with you. We just talked to
David Vassay about everything. No,you're related, And of course Don McClain

(21:00):

Pee. Got to work tomorrow witha bunch of young draft types even on
Saturdays, but Sunday straight straight tochurch. But we got the Clipper game
eleven fifty Clippers host the Mavericks. We're gonna talk some basketball in our next

(21:21):
hour. We've had a great dayin great sports talk thus far. And
don't forget the Beach Life Festival returnsto the sands of Redondo Beach May third
through May fifth. A guy whoreally loves festivals, Don McClain with performances
by Sting My Morning Jacket, SteelPulse, the Dirty Heads, zz Top.
Here's what raises Don's eyebrows, Seal, Why do you keep saying that?

(21:47):
Hey, Don, Yeah, we'renever gonna survive unless we get a
little crazy. Yeah, that's wellsaid, Pete. In a world full
of people, there's always some oneto cry. I have seen Seal in
concert. Isn't that crazy? Yeah? That is crazy? Wow? Did
you like it? It? Wasgood long time ago. Did you sing

(22:10):
along with kiss Santa Barbara Bowl?Oh? Wow? Did you sing along
with my with kiss? Ive've beenKissed the Rose? No? Well,
we're going to beats Life and we'regonna sing it out. Don But you
know, you've been a big partof great sports talk this week, and
we sure have been grateful. Andit's a great time to look back and

(22:30):
remember because it's Friday and we didn'tdo this last week. Now it's gonna
ask you guys do this every Friday. Three out of four, three out
of four. Lessons learned Jim kTwitter about town pictures. I guess he
delivered a really sick burn with noconcerns since lives lesson what uh next?

(22:55):
Lesson one? Thank you? Donuh me? Mallow? Is that with
sad? I hate that you knowwhat I'm getting. We know what you're
bad? Who else is bad?Would it be? Tim? I hate
when people say, oh my bad, we know what you're bad? Not
you? Just in general, wehad a we were in a very heated
special Teams meeting once in ninety sevenat USC run by a guy named Mike

(23:18):
Barry, Joe Berry's father. JoeBerry's now an NFL de coordinator type and
was an se linebacker. Mike wasan on line coach. But he ran
our kickoff return team and somebody wasout of position and they was like,
where are you here? And whatis this? The guys like my bad,
coach, and he flipped the tableover and he said, I'm tired
of hearing my bad. I'm tiredof here in my I'm sorry, I'm

(23:41):
sorry you're out there. We're allgonna get fired because of you guys.
It's like, yeah, all right, lesson what LEXI on? Who knows?
Lesson one? Oh me, mallowme mallow? Hey? I hate
that don Who can forget the curlyW song for your old place? You're
old? Come on, the WashingtonBullets. This is for the Washington They

(24:03):
came in here and took it tothe Dodgers. You're gonna play the whole
intro again. To the intro isso long, Just fast forward it.
There we go is the man ofthe curvely W. Come on, I'm
out day, sunny day or afterdark, the beautiful time of year to

(24:29):
be in DC. It's not gettingyou at all. No, Like second
time hearing it though, you're kindof like, hey, I might be
worse a second kind of like thatunder the bridge downtown. Oral Herscheizer,
this is interesting number lesson to lexionthose lesson to oral Herscheiser came on and

(24:53):
got emotional, and that made Mattbe like, oh, it's very interesting
moment here. I just want youto know with the walks. Jackie walked
and scored a run in his firstgame and the Dodgers won five to three.
He walked into that situation, hescored with what he did for our
nation and for the world, andhe won because we're still talking about it

(25:15):
and we're still getting better as humanbeings. So it's it's quite a day
and it's quite a message. Andthat's gonna make my voice crack. We
appreciate it. Oral, thank you, lesson three lexions lesson three. You
know it hurts. It hurts whenAI thinks that you smoke pole. You
know, I know it's a moreprogressive society we live in down But you

(25:37):
heard the Tim kats I did alot of people talking about this. That's
roads back, So debrace talk fuckfive on the place, guys, Great,

(26:07):
that's not suck. Why how didthey get that? Why do they
think that? Jess lesson for lexyou own quatch for. James Worthy joined

(26:30):
the show and he paid a greatcompliment to our own Don McClain, James
Worthy all time great player, showingDon McClain the respect he deserves. I
like big game doctors, you're agreat teacher. See for all these young
high school and college guys out there, if you want to learn how to
play the game, you need toget in touch with Don. He's a

(26:51):
great teacher. I know that fromsome people that I heard, so anyway,
appreciate that. How about that Damerecognized game. Yeah. You know
when you're tired and you're trying totell somebody, a young person who's thinking
about their Instagram account over and overagain, you know how they need to
set a screen or something like that, and you're getting a little frustrated.

(27:15):
I want you to remember James Worthy'swords of encouragement Don. Yes, okay,
James Worthy giving you compliments and sayingwhat a great teacher you are to
the youth. And AI thinks that, I smoke bowl. You know you're
doing all right. You're doing alot better. They got it? What
stop stop less than five? LexionCinco lesson five. It's very emotional Okay,

(27:37):
I'm speaking of another emotional person.Geter McGhee came on yesterday and we
just raked his balls. Really, people, this time of year, you
know, Geter can't be right. He's all freaked out. He's trying to
shill for Lebron, He's trying tomake sure he doesn't upset the Lakers.
Those two things might not be mutuallyexclusive. I mean, you know,
you just what can you do ifyou're Geeter? You got your head spinning

(27:59):
all the time, and then we'rehere waiting for you to say something stupid
so we can make fun of you. And here he is on that.
With the reputation of this show,do you ever find yourself honestly saying something?
Are about to say something and questionit? Because well, we can't
watch all the time, we can'tmonitor him and the whole time. But
it's on in the studio Lifetime Jonasone hundred Secret all say stuff and all
of a sudden, big Game Jameswill be talking or or in my mind,

(28:22):
I'm not listening to them and goingplease tell me money, or that
Lord can do me one the best. He listens to the show, We'll
get him, dude. He textedme a couple of weeks ago when I
came on, Well, he'll havehis boys too, you know, all
his freaking crespy losers. What arethose guys doing, you know, sitting

(28:44):
at Phinney's. Hey, I justheard him mention you had petrols and money.
You know. My thing is like, if you hear somebody mentioned on
the radio, it's like the firstthing you think about is just to text
him, like, Hey, It'slike, what did you have anything better
to do? Peter? Anyway, great sports on the clock. You know
what I'm saying. You know whatthat lives? Yeah, getting down on

(29:04):
their knees like a seal. He'sgonna come back and he's gonna get mad
at us. Me. What didI do? I don't push buttons.
It was beautiful about Jackie and Hubrick. That beautiful painting that oral Herscheis are
bought and it's still up in theNegro Museum in Kansas City, and that
is the name of the museum. We'll be right back with quick hits in
the final hour. Fun fact
