It is uh, not breaking news, not all that much sizzle, but
a reminder of the Lebron James mediapolice screaming and yelling about how Dallas went
out and acquired players at the deadline, how Indiana acquired the biggest prize at

the trade deadline, both of themin the conference finals. The Mavericks PJ.
Washington acquired for a first round pick, Seth Curry and Grant Williams,
and then Daniel Gafford for another firstround pick. So they sent out two
ones, got back two huge piecesto their run to the conference finals.
PJ. Washington was exceptional in thefinal three minutes of that game yesterday,

the back and forth fourth quarter affairbetween the Mavericks and the thunder The Pacers,
as we mentioned, got the biggestprize of the deadline. Pascal Siakam
from the Raptors cost him two numberones, could be three number ones,
and that is what a lot ofthe Lebron James backed media heads are talking
about today. You see, theteams that made a run to the NBA

Finals are the ones that invested atthe trade deadline. Like Lebron so Well,
I guess cautiously or indirectly through hissocial media channels, was suggesting the
Lakers should do the hour glass.You know, times running out, I

don't know, times running out onme, times running out on the deadline,
helping you out here. I lookat it like, if the Lakers
didn't make a deadline deal, it'ssimply because Lebron couldn't get one done,
or Lebron's people couldn't get one done. I think they were shooting those Taco
Tuesday commercials. He's got it spinninga lot of plays, right, it's
up, yeah, right, Ifit's up, if he makes if he
calls the shots, like everybody kindof alleges, then then it's on him.

Anyway, Maybe nobody wants to playwith it. A lot of people
point out, and maybe they're right. Should they have moved some of their
future capital at the deadline for thepieces that the MAVs and the Pacers added.
The games, of course were tightagainst the Nuggets. Would having Gafford
or Washington out there have made ahuge difference. What about Lebron's begging Rob
Polinka to trade for Kyrie, whohad a monster fourth quarter in the Nuggets

one point win, I should saythe Mavericks one point win over the Thunder
yesterday when Kyrie was picked up forpennies on the dollar. Lebron couldn't get
that done either. I tried to. That's what they say. You know,
they say, hey, Lebron wantedto do that deal, but he's
not. He's not advising the frontoffice. He's not you know that he
had nothing to do with the dealsor the contract exos offseason. Is that

right? But yeah, that's thedeal he wanted them to do, so
he was advising them. No,he wasn't. Well wait a minute,
you're saying that he doesn't get involvedwith front office transactions. But now that
these trade deals have been done inthe past and they have paid off here
in the present, that he infact was advising the front office to do
these deals. It's very hard forme to connect these dots as to whether

or not he is involved or isnot involved in the front office affairs,
because it certainly sounds like hindsight beingbetter than twenty twenty with these teams that
have advanced in the postseason that infact, Lebron was involved and was politicking
for Rob Polinka to make a dealfor Kyrie. Remember the Kyrie was acquired

for almost nothing. It was aDorian Finney Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, a
one and two twos, that's it, and it was a twenty twenty nine
to one. And reportedly, accordingto those in the that speak to guys
like Rich Paul and Clutch Sports,that was a deal that Lebron wanted done.

He was Kyrie was incredible in theseries. They even said that Lebron
said, Hey, Kyrie's going tobe fine. Don't you worry about his
battitude and his flat earthing and hispain in the button and it's taking the
games off and his social justice proclamationsfollowed by boycotting games and all that sort
oft not happening. That's what Lebronsaid, and the Lakers should have taken

heat. So that's one part ofthis. The other part, though,
I think is more apt for usto discuss here because it is something that
we brought up and as the allrookie selections were announced today, and this
is something that we can relate toanother team in town. So people don't
think we're just picking on the Lakers. But the Chargers. When the Chargers
drafted Quentin Johnston, and these weretheir words, not those that wondered about

the selection and should they have takenZay Flowers or something that they said,
Listen, we believe in the upside, we believe in the talent, and
we're going to allow him to developsitting behind Keenan Allen and Mike Williams and
Josh Palmer because the wide receiver roomis so deep. But the talent was
too good to pass up. Youjust don't find athletic athleticism, size,

speed like this at pick number twentyone, and it was too good to
pass up. And by twenty twentyfour you'll see what we're talking about.
Fine, the problem was they hadinvested all of their money, pushed dead
money into the twenty twenty four offseason, and we're chasing a Super Bowl.
So why in the world are youusing a first round pick on a

guy that you've already told us isnot going to contribute in twenty twenty three,
as opposed to someone like Dalton Kincaid, who already turned into a top
five tight end by the end ofhis rookie year. Same thing with the
Lakers and Jalen hoods Shaffido, oneof the worst producing first round rookies from
this past season, five minutes pergame, one point six points, twenty

two percent and shooting a complete disaster. But they told us to bet on
the upside that he's barely played,and he's barely twenty one year, he's
got even twenty one yet. Theytold us that after drafting him, with
Reeves and Russell and Lebron handling theball, the addition of Gabe Davis,
little room to find hood Schaffiino minutes. But they love the size, the

college production, the potential to bea perimeter defender, the tremendous upside potential,
the high ceiling. He's still onlytwenty years old. Well why did
you draft him. You've got LebronJames in season twenty one, Anthony Davis,
all of these older players chasing achampionship, D'Angelo Russell, Ruiya Chimura,
the Vandalorian right Stu, Gabe Vincentand with the seventeenth I don't know

what that is at the seventeenth pickand two ready to go plug and play
guys staring at him and Haimi Hakezand Brandon Pujemski each taken in the two
subsequent picks by the Heat and theWarriors, and both today named First Team

All Rookie Squad. The eighteenth andthe nineteenth pick in the twenty twenty three
NBA Draft, the picks right behindthe Lakers number seventeen. The All Rookie
team included number one pick Victor wembinYama, last year's number two pick,
Chet Holmgren, this year's number threepick, Brandon Miller, and two dudes

that went with pick eighteen and nineteento teams that were veteran Leyden in Golden
State obviously with Stephen Clay and Draymonand with the Miami Heat with Jimmy Butler
and Tyler Hero and that stacked rosterthat made a run at the finals last
year. That's the direction they went. Pajemski shot thirty nine percent on his
threes. He averaged nine points,six rebounds, four assists, and a

steal per game, and he playedtwenty seven minutes over seventy four games.
Again, Hoods Schafino played in twentyone games. This guy seventy four hoods
Chaffino twenty one. And we've talkedrepeatedly multiple times about Hakes when he was
winning Rookie of the Month awards.Played in seventy five games twenty eight minutes,
put up twelve points on forty ninepercent shooting to go with four rebounds,

three assists, and a steal pergame. So why bring it up?
Why bring all that up? WWhy? Well, if they're looking
for a head coach, what's theright path. We're in day seventeen of
their coaching search. Now you've gotthe Mavericks in the conference finals with Jason
Kidd, who had stints in NewJersey and Milwaukee that had some good and

some bad and some weird before hesettled in at Dallas. You got Chris
Finch and Minnesota. He's the coachinglifer assistant all over the place, Houston
with McHale, Denver with Malone,New Orleans with Alvin Gentry, the Raptors
with Nick Nurse. He gets hisshot in Minnesota, finishes top three in
the Coach of the Year voting hisfirst year, and now he's got Minnesota

having just won arguably their biggest winin franchise. History. Well, what
does it matter? I mean,whoever they bring in, just like the
GM or anybody, they're adherent toLebron because Genie allows that. So whoever
they hire is going to be handcuffedby whatever Lebron's doing with this, with
his sub tweeting, his eye rolling. Is that what you think? I

tough, the tremendous upside potential ofJalen Hood Schafino. JJ Reddick is the
Jalen Hood Schaffino of this coaching cycle, and behind him the Jimi hawkez Is,
the Brandon Pajemskis are in fact theJames Beregos, the Chris Quinns,
the Sam Cassels that they very wellmake it take a pass on, very

well could take a pass on,just like they did with Jalen Hood Schaffino
and the upside potential. You know, JJ Riddick's one of the smartest guys
I've ever been around, one ofthe smartest basketball minds I have ever had
the blessing to have been around.Yeah, but he's just coached youth basketball
in New York his eight year oldson. That's that's his coaching resume.
Remember when Luke Walton was a brand. We love Luke Walton. Oh,

Luke's such a bright basketball mine.He filled in all the cracks. He
knew exactly what right place to make. That's why we believe even though he
hasn't had a lot of coaching,there is just such a bright future.
That's what's upsetting about that. So, I mean there's always been media spin,
and you know, everybody tries tojustify everything. They justify the Carl
Derell Higher even though he never calledplays in his life. I mean all

that stuff. But there's that,and then there's this. This is even
worse. It's like media spin onsteroids. It's like one of the grossest
things I've ever seen in my life. How Lebron controls the Lakers and we're
all just supposed to sit here andbelieve all the crap that everybody talks on

the lead initial targets. Lebron Jamesmade it clear this is the organization's
decision. He's had no conversations withthe Lakers about JJ Redick, his podcast

partner. He had no conversation withJJ about that position as well. I
did speak to Rich Paul this morning. He said, where's that dog?
He said, Lebron James and JJReddick, they do a podcast together.
That that does not mean that hewants JJ Redick as his head coach,

for his future. Obviously, I'mtold he's expected to play up to two
