That's pretty said commentary on us.All right, halta, I don't
got to listen to this show. You just got killed by a day wolanos

(00:41):
motherfuck come how you like me now? Huh tzips t SIPs. It is
human nature to hate him who youhave injured? Going on on Big Petros
Money HAYM five seventy LA Sports Liveeverywhere on the iHeartRadio app, you can
podcast anything missed. Our opener withVick was especially exciting today. A lot

(01:03):
of historical references. Working our waythrough the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy soon to
be four piece with the new release. We tried to kill someone who's still
alive. A lot you may havemissed and we remembered some very tragic deaths
over the years. We get SamSalmonio many and the punching of Steve Bushmi,

(01:25):
which is almost up there with beingkilled in your car randomly by the
son of Sam. Tomorrow Dodgers willbe back from the Dalping Motors broadcast booth,
first pitch at seven to ten pmToday they are off, so a
full four hours prior to Off DayDodger Talk with Tim Kats from seven until
eight pm. David Vassi joined usin the very last segment, harrowing tales

(01:49):
from the Road. Hence is gettinga little bit of extra rest tonight with
the Off Day Dodger Talk hosted byTim Kates, and as promised, the
big reveal is knowing come knowledge's localknowledge. He's very knowledgeable on the things
that you come up with. Asfar as for with your knowledge, well,
Matt, we teased that we weregoing to give everybody a little bit

(02:14):
of a heads up even though we'regoing to officially on Monday announce the Petrosen
Money Summer Tour for twenty twenty fourand officially officially start our process of on
air brainstorming and on air complaining onair, jockeying, guest requests, promotion,

(02:40):
endless promotion, unbelievably cumbersome promotion, ponderous promotion. And we do have
a summer tour date if you wantto give me the timpany and I will
love you know, and then youguys, we're not going to leave this
out of the podcast. But we'renot in and out a bunch of Instagram

(03:00):
stuff and all that either. Right, this is what they call in the
industry a soft launch. We're gonnado our eleventh sponsored two step around the
Southland this year. We plan totouch at least three counties. But we
do know, and there's a reasonI'm doing this, man, But we

(03:23):
do know about June fourteenth and BuenaPark at the Rock and Bruce, and
I'm excited. How could we notbe. It's a good venue, it's
a great venue, great history withus, two great shows. But I
am struggling with how to make itgermane to the place and memorable, which

(03:46):
is what we always strive for. Now, maybe maybe just like Bill Murray
says in Rushmore, it doesn't matter. You're born rich and you're gonna stay
rich. Maybe it doesn't matter.I don't know if drinking and winning stuff
and Dave Weeze's humiliating outfits and eatingthe delicious, diverse, creatively named offerings

(04:13):
at Rock and Bruce at Buena Parkis enough, And maybe it is enough,
and rest assured. Between then andnow, we will be publicly racking
our brain with our very limited resourcesto try and make it new. By

(04:34):
limited, you mean zero. Well, we were told that we were going
to have resources last year from theCEO, and then there was a shake
up with the executives and he becamethe CEO of something different and the new
CEO resources went with him. Yeah, a new ceo. He closed up
like a sea an enemy, Mattas you're familiar with the sea life.

(04:57):
Yeah, and we have we gotnothing from what I understand now when we
were out there with nothing. Thefirst time, newly hired UCLA head basketball
coach took a sojourn of sorts likethe never ending Journey with the dogs that
made it all the way home.Mick Cronin made it all the way out

(05:17):
to Buyna Park to see us,and that was great. It was almost
a three hour tour, yeah, two and a half hours to get to
us and then the other time andhe was reported missing in Westwood for a
moment, just like Gilligan and theprofessor and all that. And then the
other one we had Preston Smith,Matt's daughter's band perform, which was great,
and Tim Wallack was out there,oh so great for free, great

(05:42):
stuff. No appearance fee, believeit or not, kids, no appearance
fee for Tim Wallach and gas wasclocking in at about six a gallon.
Yeah, Fernando won't even act likehe speaks English with his big white teeth.
But Tim Wallack free, Thank you. Tim. Now band performed leave
it or Not for free, That'sthat's true. Hard to believe, but

(06:03):
they did. Now, we can'tdo politics with the uh local politicians because
that's a BJ's thing. That's right, that's a thing that's in the fall,
and in the fall. Rest assured, BJS, we will run the
wheel. BJ's and politicians go togetherperfectly, especially in California. We will
run the wheel of disgrace. Andthere is no there's no getting out of

(06:27):
it. Uh, there's no there'sno offens or butts what we do in
the fall. So we're doing that. So here is my public PLEA Matt
as we're going to Buyna Park. There's a reason I'm doing this now,
because we've got to get ahead ofthis, got to I'm not saying like,
hey, if you're a reggaeton artistand you live in Buena Park,
No though, trying to get BadBunny to come out. No, although

(06:47):
he is back with Kendall Jenner,so he's in the area. Here is
my public plea. Okay, youknow, we love Notts very fun.
We do. And we consider ourselves, and I'm speaking for you as well,
Matt, we consider ourselves unpaid advertisersof the greatest abuse in park on

(07:11):
earth. That is accurate. Wehave never been paid by them once.
And the true California experience of culturethat's true and history that's true. Knots
very fun. Here on the PetrosenMoney Show, we revere Walter Knot and
Cordelia, the humble beginnings of theBoison Berry, the Jam, the Fried

(07:33):
Chicken, the ghost Town, theTrain, the log Ride, camp Snoopy.
We love Knots, and I'm askingMatt, as a mutual show of
respect between two Los Angeles institutions,Great Sports Talk and Knots Great Sports Talk,
that they send a cowboy or anairbrush guy or a leather tanner or

(07:58):
something to help us promote Knots.Whitler in a Whittler in the shadow of
Knots, the place I consider tobe California's entertainment Crown Jewel anything. What
about like a Charlie Brown mascot perfectfrom Camp Snoopy. I'll take Snoopy,
Charlie Brown, Peppermint, Patty Marcy, anybody. How about Manazuma? Well,

(08:22):
if they want to send somebody asas far as an update on the
Manazuma's revenge kind of refiguring, right, it's gonna be a different kind of
ride, I guess sort of.I'd love to talk to that person.
We are reaching out officially to Knotsover two weeks in advance. Over two

(08:43):
weeks in advance, plenty of timeto track somebody down. We tease this
up, We let you know whenthe event is. Everybody's getting a leg
up here, all of you Petrosen, money freaks, great sports talk weirdos.
What are you gonna send us trainengineer, prairie looking ladies, right,
anything? Anything? Well, youdon't have to bring boys and berries

(09:05):
and bring you know, we havefood, don't worry about that. We
need some nuts flavor long overdue, right, I mean, most definitely,
and we'll be thinking about other waysto make it unique with our limited budget.
But what we have, Matt,is our history of reverence toward Walter

(09:26):
and Cordelia not and I think it'simportant that we It's not an olive branch.
There's never been a rift between us. It's simply a request from some
of your most ardent supporters who aregoing to be right there. Hey,
you guys are giving them, likeone hundred thousand dollars a free advertising.

(09:46):
Enough already, Send a cowboy, send anything. That's all we want.
That's great. Cowboy used a blank. He was killed in a Hala bullet,
all right, Matt. Imagine ifthey were it was like a full
act. Right in the scenes, they're like, Okay, guys, here's
what's gonna happen. The cowboys aregonna come in. They're gonna shoot the
two of you up. People aregonna freak out. Oh my god,

(10:09):
there's gonna be a damsel that holdsyour Sheriff comes and arrests us. They
hang us on the gallopy. Ohmy love. All they did was steal
milk. Cross One, Final Kissand Felina good Boy. I saw the
when they were shut down. Iwas there when the daughters were killed by

(10:33):
Los Locos Vatos in Brenda Parking. Now, Matt, I was not gonna
let the layoff ruin what you considerto be huge news. And it's been
too long, huge, too longsince we've had bastard news here on the
Petrosen Money Show. And news cameout recently that there was gonna be a

(10:56):
new Raiders air a dancer Matt Silverand Black are Hayden Hopkins, who was
Mark Davis's girlfriend, turned up pregnanttwenty six and fekund Davis is seventy and
shriveled that seem's still swimming. No, it's not what Hopkins alas shot the

(11:22):
rumor down and confirmed that the fatheris actually one of the Blue Men.
No, my favorite shoe. It'seven better, one of the great twists
in the history of societal pregnancies andbastards. It's not Mark Davis, but

(11:43):
it is mister Vegas Nationals outfielder formerDodger Joey Gallo of Bishop Gorman looks good
in them jeans. He didn't strikeout on this. They did I'm pregnate
a stripper Joey. Yeah. Now, for those of you wondering what will

(12:05):
become of my Raiders, because uh, Mark Davis has no heir. He's
a seventy year old man with nokids. His gallas having a bay is
having Joey Gallows baby. Yeah, his girlfriend is having Joey Gallows baby.
He did not get the private dancerdancing for money, doing what he wants

(12:26):
her to do. She was doingGallo. He did not get her pregnant.
Gallo did. And Matt Moore Puzsoslinging news. Tim Kates's favorite Notre
Dame High school baseball player ever, not Ryan Strabsborg, Hunter Green Ari Ari,
not Hunter Green Ari, Mike jimI did not make the team.

(12:52):

when he was try to be allexotic. I won't have it. No,
he was dog Goo Hills High Schoolis a freshman. He was Mike's
value from the value was I coulddo what you want me to do,
which just see g and Carlo.Uh. He is dating a hospitality worker

(13:13):
quote unquote named aj Hung Barnes. She's been traveling with them. Carolyn hospitality
worker named aj aj Hung Barnes, and she's been traveling with the team.
Uh, you know, like showingup in town Carolyn mu style, Oh
yeah, whoa staying at the hotelsuites that he discreetly books. She was

(13:37):
at spring training sticking her nose around. According to page six, Jean Carlo
from Notre Dame High doesn't like hisbusiness being out there, and aj Hung
Barnes is reckless taking all kinds ofpictures on Instagram with their Yankees hat and
stuff. You know, she andCarlo already got put out there with Cody
Bellinger's baby mama. He it's Mike, all right. According to page six,

(14:03):
Mike Stanton only uses Snapchat to communicatedelete those exactly the disappear. So
who knows how this is going togo over with ajm So there's your news.
It's good stuff. We have nothad good bastard news in a while,
bastard news. Gian Carlos single andso's this hospitality worker. So good

(14:24):
for them. And of course we'rereaching out to knots very far. Please
here are please here our prayer WalterKnott's ghost, and we'll be back with
more great sports Talk, Billy Reid'sSports Talk, Who's going to join us
next? From the MLB Network,Petro Some Money, hay M five seventy

brilliant analysis and work on the MLBNetwork mornings on MLB Central and at night

(15:52):
They win that award without old BillyRipkin up there, Matt, Hell
no, not a change, nochat a change out in my mind,
you get beat by Fox. BigPoppy comes and snatches that award and he's
on the soun of California Toyota DealerCelebrity Hotline. It's Bill Ripkin on the
Petrosen Body Show. Hey Bill, how are you? Thanks for joining us

(16:12):
today. I'm doing well, butyou're lead in talking about la and everybody
wants to be a part of it. And then you just threw that out
there. For me, this almostsounded like New York radio for a minute.
Yeah, that's right, that's us. We guys will chest, we
get really hardcore. We'll wrap yourhead in a ratchet. Actually, we
just kind of go through the motionsduring the season and wait for the playoffs

(16:34):
and the Dodgers to explode. That'skind of what we're used to around here,
Billy. But just from an outsider'sperspective, with shoe Ayltani on the
team and just sweeping the Mets aftera little bit of a lull, what
do you make of our hometown teamhere and what do you think they're going
to be able to do as theseason goes on. Well, look,

(16:55):
I tell you the truth, Ithink I'm waiting around for the playoffs too,
to see. You know what Dodgerteam shows up in the postseason and
look when you win, got showHey minus the pitching, and you threw
him in there. With Mookie Bettsand Freddie Freeman. That's probably as big
a three as maybe we've ever seen. That's gonna go out there on a

(17:15):
daily basis. And I don't thinkthey've disappointed right now. It seems like
Freddie's a little bit on the outsidelooking in. Tom Bear to those two
guys. But ask anybody maybe inbaseball, who would you one up with
the bases juiced and you're down onerun. Freddie Freeman might come to mind
as quick as anybody. So weknow the team's going to be good.

(17:37):
We know, as the outsiders thatwe are, that they're going to make
the postseason. But then we wantto see what that rotation, what that
looks like going in because they've runup against some teams lately the past few
years in the postseason get dismissed,Arizona being the last one of last year.
So we're just waiting around to seewhat happened. When the postseason rolls

(18:00):
around, we know they're good. How good are they going to be in
the postseason? I guess is thenext question? Do you because this has
sort of been kicked around a littlebit considering how well he's playing, but
he seems like he does this everyyear, how much do you think not
pitching makes Shoheo Tani a better hitter? If at all? Yeah, you

(18:21):
know it. Certainly you would thinkhe could focus strictly on one thing,
but you also know he's rehabbing anddoing those things, so that kind of
argument kind of gets a little bitthrown out there. Look, years ago,
I think when when Dan or downmyself where up. They're doing a
show at the network and we're talkingabout showy. I think Dan's the first

(18:41):
one that came up with the ideaof him being a ninth inning guy,
you know, less stress, notgoing out there every fifth or sixth day,
depending on what that is, butmaybe being one inning. And I
think base, well, look,we've already seen the specialness of him on
the starting bump and we get it, but how cool would it be if
my man goes deep in the bottomof the eighth and the tie game,

(19:03):
and then and then runs around thebase and walk straight out to the bullpen
and starts loosen it up and workingup a ladder, and then comes out
and gets the last three outs.I think that'd be one of the coolest
things in the game. But Ithink we show a I think there was
a little bit of a wake upcall early early when he was with the
Angels spring training and started the season. There were some scuffle periods. But

(19:27):
since then he's figured some stuff out, and you know, I don't know
if we've seen the best of themyet, because I think what he's doing
now is better than it's ever been, So maybe there's more in the tank.
I don't know how. You know, we're kind of trying to put
together the bottom of this lineup, and I think about the Padres last year,
how disappointing they were so top heavy, I mean, just dominant that

(19:48):
one through four, and the bottomof the lineup would just routinely let him
down. You know, Doc ismixing and matching. Now it's Vargas instead
of Pies or Outman, and maybeit's McGill. You kind of have you
figured have you seen anything that makessense? Do you think this is just
going to be a trade deadline acquisitionfor that outfielder or what do you think
the approach is there to try tojust somehow lift the bottom of this lineup.

(20:12):
Well, the beautiful thing about itis you've got room to make those
decisions. And I think when you'relooking at some of the names that you
talk about their accomplishments that they've hadin the minor legs, you're hoping that
something clicks for them. Look,we've been so spoiled by some of these
young, young dudes that come upto the big legs and just instant success.

(20:34):
That's not the norm, you know, And maybe some of these guys
have to go through some struggles andthen they turn the page and they figure
something out. So, if I'mthe Dodgers, I'm certainly not in panic
mode whatsoever towards the bottom because Ithink there's enough there to piece in there
because the top half is so strong, and if you have to gap it
up a little bit, you know, the first four you throw out there,

(21:00):
why not ridiculous? Do you mixsomebody else in there to give somebody
a break? I wouldn't probably suggestthat, but I'm just throwing some stuff
at you, yeah, but Ithink you have time, and I think
the idea of the talent that theDodgers have been able to develop through their
system, I think there's something there. Now. If you get close to

(21:22):
the deadline and you don't think something'sworking, I don't think it's anything outside
the norm for the Dodgers to goout there and make a big splash,
because they can do that, whetherit's a free agent or a trade.
So let's just kind of hold ontothis a little bit, see what's going
on, because I'd hate to seethem make a snap decision on somebody that
could be a long term player forhim. Well, you know, bringing

(21:44):
up the Otani thing, Bill,it's interesting. What would you just to
kind of play the hypothetical if you'recomfortable doing it, Let's just say he
comes back, his velocity's good. What do you do with Clayton Kershawn August
And I guess what I'm really askingis what you do with him in the
postseason If he comes back and he'spitching, Well, maybe he doesn't have
you know, he's not built upto be able to go six seven innings.

(22:07):
But how we're going to record thisbill and we're gonna plan back so
we know what to do. Howwould you approach that well? I think
Clayton Kershall is going to answer thatquestion for us because I think, look,
if anybody's earned the right to beable to do certain things, I
think it's him. Mister Dodger hasbeen there, done that. Yes,

(22:27):
postseason has been a little bit ofa struggle for him over his career compared
to his you know, regular seasonoutings, but look, all in due
time, I think things work themselvesout, and I think once he comes
back, once you figure out what'shappening, how he's stealing, how he's
pitching, I think that's gonna answera lot of the questions. One thing

(22:49):
I don't think they're gonna do withOtani is that they're not going to push,
you know, the envelope on him. I realize, when you pay
him as much as you pay him, you were kind of getting him with
the idea of okay, here's pitchingand hitting, and it certainly makes sense
if you break it down into thatsense the yearly salary, but also once
it's spent, God, I don'tthink you should sit there and worry about

(23:12):
it anymore. I think if youfind a guy who can go out there
in DH and just smash every singleday. It really shouldn't matter what you're
throwing his way. And I knowI say that as an outsider of the
team's business, but really it's done. So now you've got to go out
there and figure out what's the bestfor your team moving forward, and that

(23:33):
may or may not include Showy beingon the starting bump. Bill Ripkin is
our guest from the MLB Network. We have to get outside the bubble and
get an outsider to tell us what'sgoing on around baseball because we're out here
in La La land and and everybody'sin space and we need guidance. So
who else do you believe in?So far? Anybody surprise you like the

(23:56):
Guardians. I mean, Philly's notmuch of a surprise. You think,
well, it's a little surprising. And Philadelphia chose this time of the year
because usually they wait till the postseasonto get after it. But look,
if you're looking at the AL Centraland you think what Cleveland and Kansas City's
doing, I assumed Cleveland would atleast be a player. And when I

(24:17):
say be a player in that division, I'm thinking about the five hundred range
to go out there and compete andthen battle people. Kansas City. I
wasn't quite there on them. Ilove the commitment that they made to Bobby
Wood Junior. I think that's reallyreally cool. They spent some money in
the offseason, and it seems likethe money they spent and the people they
brought in, you know, pannedout and they're playing extremely well. So

(24:42):
those two are up there, andthen I look at my you know,
division that I'm probably most familiar with, and that's the Al East. I
think the Yankees, believe it ornot, it's hard to say Yankees are
surprising me a little bit, butI didn't think they'd be where they are.
I knew Wan Soto was going tocome over here be really good.
In fact, I think I pickedhim to be the MVP of the league

(25:04):
when me and Maddy d were doinga hot Stove segment when they first got
him. But I still think Baltimoreis going to hold onto that division.
I think they're so young, they'reso talented. Burns coming over and being
the right part, it just makessense to me. So Cleveland, Kansas
City, Kent City probably the biggestsurprise in all of baseball right now what

(25:27):
they're doing. Hey, Bill, did you ever have any experiences where maybe
the strike zone was incredibly expanded todisbelief while you were looking to your looking
behind you there and seeing Angel Hernandez, any of those over the course of
your career. I tell you what, I felt like I had a strike

(25:48):
zone that was fairly large from timeto time because Senior would start barking out
of the third base coaching box.Junior was not a's say, out of
the realm and his possibility to himsnap, and I don't think they could
do much to him. So I'dwalk up there sometimes and I felt like
I had a pretty good size strikezone and probably let it known that I

(26:12):
didn't like it very much. Infact, we mentioned Kansas City is a
little bit of surprise. I'm prettysure, way way way way back in
the day, Senior and myself weretossed in the first inning in Kansas City,
and I'm not too sure that therewere any Schlitz left in the refrigerator
after it was over. We appreciateyou, Bill, and thank you for

(26:36):
doing it. Thank you for lendingthe people of Los Angeles a real perspective
postseason holding batter. That's us.Thank you. Let me know when you
need me again. Oh we hey, we will, oh yeah, and
we're going to record everything and useit against you later. All right,
guys, Thank you Bill, andwe'll be back with Mark Petros and Money

(26:57):
on AM five seventy LA Sports,a Secret Texto Sol Rodeo round up here
on a Crunchy Groove and Thursday Nicelong show before Dodger Talk featuring the one
and only Tim Kits the Wall atseven Bet Trust some Money AM five to

(27:17):
seventy LA Sports Live Everywhere on theiHeartRadio app. Already gave away our pair
of tickets to the Fontaine Blue,Las Vegas, and we got another pair
tomorrow, so Rogan and Rodney willhave a pair tomorrow and we will have
our final pair tomorrow. Huge thankyou to the Fontaine Blue in Las Vegas,
luxury resort right there on the strip. Two nights pool side dining at
the Oasis pool Deck, and twotickets to your choice of show at Blue

(27:41):

Rogan and Rodney, one with us. But we already gave away our pair
today. Still to come dead andthe Live quick hits if you missed oral
herscheires or that was great, we'lldo that one again. But right now
the secret text us up, broughtto you by your so called Toyota dealers.

(28:03):
We make it easy, all right, Matt. We got a few
texts to sift through here, importantstuff that has happened on the show thus
far, some corrections and retractions, sadly about oh well, well I felt
corrections and retractions. We really triedto chop it up about Beverly Hills Cop
to start the show because there's anew one coming out. And then on

(28:23):
Fox Sports Radio this morning when Iwas filling in for Jonas the last hour,
they were talking about how the newone's coming out axe laugh and I
said, as Judge Reinhold in it, and they were like and that we
made fun of them for that, and then we knowing who Judge Reinhold,
right, And then we went onto make a series of sleet ass of
myself Taggart Alive, that's on meAnd this says a shakedown is Bob Seger

(28:48):
not Kenny Loggin, right, Isaid, Kenny Loggins, it's Bob Seger.
You're busted, yes, And shakedownI believe it was a Beverly Hills
Cop one, not two. Sowhat is the song for Beverly Hills COPO?
Do they have a song? Yes, they most definitely did. I
thought it was shakedown, and Ithought it was fucking's But it was in
Beverly Hills Cop one. I meanit's not to say they didn't use it
for two. I mean it wasa very successful form, as Vic said,

(29:12):
a lot of music. No BeverlyHills cop too. All right,
shut down, Bob Seeger there itis probably used it twice? Was it
in one? Oh? Corey Hartwas in Beverly Hills Cop two? Well
not Sunglasses at Night nor Never Surrender? Wait until Vic finds out Darth Vader
is Luke's father. Mind boon y'allwe get a lot of things wrong.

(29:33):
Okay, well look we're here inthe moment, Petros. How is Vic
always getting phony phone calls in thatsegment? Is it Ronnie? Is it
fred sabotaging? Is it Cowherd? It's called life with a landline, That's
what it is. If you stillhave a landline, you still get phony
phone calls all freaking day. Ihave a landline for emergencies, but it's

(29:56):
unplugged. You plug it in whenyou need it, unless they're an emergency
because of the phony phone calls andwhen you're elderly, lottery scams from Jamaica
and India, Nigeria take your pick. Vic hass have left his house in
years, so asking him about therelative safety of somewhere besides his living room
is folly. Yes, but wehave to find a way to involve him.

(30:21):
Guys, this is part of theproblem. Let's talk about your life
experience. Look, I try tominimize my life experience as much as much
as possible, but you have tohave some modicum of it to do the
show because it's a daily show.Give Matt a banana and his tailpipe,
that pull smoker, take that bay? Is that for all I got wrong

(30:45):
with Beverly or just in general. You were right about seeing her, No,
that's wrong. You were right aboutthe song. Let's the film gotta
say. Listening to you guys getheld down by Ryan Hollins while the King
nailed you was uncomfortable to listen to. It was especially weird that he kept
insisting the King wasn't really Yeah, that did happen, but we respect our
