But before we get to anything else, uh, it is a Frogman
Friday, Rugman, tough Fans, cover, frough Man loves Hilsters, Frogmen,

(02:22):
Stars, Frogmen, reflection on theBlue Ocean. Frogmen has become the
nuts and bolts of vessels flying theirway. I am the frogsman to destination.
Today's destination is great sports talk andgreat sports talk until six o'clock.

(02:45):
Like Matt mentioned with the Dodgers rockystart, and on a day that it's
a frog Man Friday, we honorto see and those that protect us from
it. Coast stars, lifeguards likeGreat Crumble, many people studying the ocean
making sure the proof levels are loweven though they're not. And of course
the great mic Milson Lloyd Bridge fromSeatan mind. I don't like them where

(03:10):
you found the manganese and I thinkso, but cut them in the sharks
here? Oh and I can alwaystell when I'm getting a little too curious.
You have been in the water withthe sharks before. I like Dames
Ah, lots of those guys.Peter rules, how many sharks here?
And Todd Light's thirteen to five? What are you nuts? We still got

(03:36):
to take that Florida man. Youknow what that's like. These days?
You got the Navy everywhere, yougot frogmen, you got the E C
two's with the satellite tracking, yougot the spell two nine of salt choppers
up the ass. We're losing oneout of every nine loads. That's no
duck walk anymore. Let me tellyou, forget about money. What do

(03:58):
you suggest that's reasonable? Well, what's reasonable is the fact that it's military
Appreciation night at Dodger Stadium. I'dbe some frog men out there enjoying the
game, enjoying watching the Dodgers beatup on the Rockies. And let's have
a little da roll. Truck men, truck men, trock men, truck

(04:29):
men, trock men. Uh,I gotta, I gotta come clean here,

(05:13):
Pete, what's the matter? Youknow? I get distracted easily,
and yes, I know, whatare you watching now? I have Here's
what happens whenever the show starts. You know, I avoid the Twitter,
but when the show starts, Ilike to open it in case anything happens
or breaks or we need to payattention to while we're on the air.
And so I open it up andI look at what's trending? See you

(05:33):
have anything in LA is trending thatI need to be aware of is the
show is now underway. And thefirst thing that says trending in the United
States his spirit airlines, which isalways like, oh yeah, you saw
the fight and so there is justsomething about a guy squaring up a skinny
dude that's at bagg or at thecheck in line. A guy in full

(05:56):
white you know, just kind ofsomeone who's from behind the counter and a
white button down coming with a lefthook just knock this dude to the ground.
As like the man it's like, hey, I need to speak to
your manager, and then just comesout with a left hook and it tackles
straight to the ground. Is oneof the better things I've seen. The
dude's barefoot that like starts the fight. There is so much good going on

(06:17):
in this video. My god,Spirit airlines is uh. It's a great
trending topic. It feels like it'sa volatile in the world of the way
the man emerges from behind the counteras the other two guys clearly don't want
to have anything to do with thisguy in a fight, and they're just
you know, kind of puffing theirchests and squaring up and then comes full

(06:41):
swing. It is. I sendyou the link in case you have not
seen it yet. It is well, I can't wait to see it.
Dude. Oh it's on Shannon Sharp'sburner. Is my favorite. It is.
It is a phenomenal entrance to theconfrontation from behind, Here comes the
mass. I did see it.He missed you know the hook mess right,
But he just goes to the groundand then you get caught up in
all those metal things and all thosebaggage. Ter phenomenal. Hey, if

(07:06):
you gotta fly Spirit Air, protectyour neck right exactly right. You know
what you signed. Hey, there'sa reason why it's fifty percent cheaper than
any other flight. I love Spirit. Have you fly Spirit to Uh?
I've flown Spirit before. We flewback East on Spirit. One of the
East Coast Spirit on the fire waswhat is on the way back from Baltimore

(07:28):
last year? Well, look atit like this, Mat, The Dodgers
are flying on their bougie private jetand they're sitting there for ten hours on
the tarmac. Tim Kait's no problemSpirit Air coming back from Baltimore. Uh.
Well, I'm I feel bad thatthere's big fights in the airport like
that, and their giant brawls allover the place. Well, there's a
lot of tension Petros because of airtravel and delays and pilots. Society is

(07:53):
falling apart, which brings me tothis. What we like to do every
summer is bring society together the Petrosand Money summer tour. And yesterday I
was a little disturbed because I putout the knots Berry Farm tease that we're
going to be there on what DAdo it. He always tells us what

(08:13):
the announced date is going to be, and then he jumps us by twenty
four hours. I beat him tothe punch big time, and I didn't
get a lot of text like I'llbe there at point a Park. And
I certainly haven't heard anything from thepeople we were really trying to reach,
which is knots Berry Farm. Havewe heard anything Kate's from knots Bury Farm

(08:35):
in this situation, have not heardanything from nts Berry Farm. Last communication
I had with somebody here at theradio station late in the show yesterday after
you guys talked about it was thatthere's more news to announce it. Well,
not only did I get a tonguelashing about that, but there's some
new management I guess at Knots intheir marketing pr and so we got to

(08:56):
re establish that relationship with the greatfolks. We didn't happen in the first
place. Knots has never done anythingfor us. Well you did, but
Dave Weese did. We have talkedabout them for twenty years, multiple times
every year. Well you know it'sinteresting tho, it's part of how was
your week? Then we celebrate theChicken, the Boys and Berry Juice,

(09:16):
the Boys in Berry Jam, wecelebrate the Calico ghost Town, we celebrate
everything, and they've never advertised withus once. Well, this dog ride
the train. This is going toinfuriate both of you, and I probably
shouldn't even bring it up, butI am, but you should. Every
December the company does their annual holidayparty in conjunction with Coast and the Holiday
Party at Disneyland, right, Okay, Well one oh four point three and

(09:37):
our friends on the Valentine Show,Yeah, I know they do something at
knots Berry Farm every year. Yeah. So they've got a relationship with knots
Berry Farm and have for many yearswith a great night out with Valentine and
one O four point three and that'sBerry Farm. So the relationship is there
with iHeart okay saying you're saying wecan't have it because are My and Valentine

(10:05):
have already staked their claim that they'rethe Notts Show. They haven't said no.
I'm just I thought it would makeyou guys a little bit more mad
that they've been doing it for along time, going there year to it
and we appreciate that. Yeah, but no one ever Yeah, but I'm
upset. I mean, but I'mnot surprised. No one ever does anything
for us. No, they neversay like, hey, you guys like
Knots, would you like to comealong? No, factly that's not true.
When you said the McRib made youthrow up in your mouth, we

(10:26):
got yelled at, yeah, that'strue. And I when I talked about
the commerce casino, I got yelledPetrol's corrections and retractions. But I may
yelled that all the time. Whatyou guys get invited every year to the
NZ party, you just don't checkyour email. That's not that. It's
not the part I want more.I want to cowboy to show up and
play the park for our listeners, for our listeners, kates, what do

(10:46):
I care? I don't need anything. I can go to Knots myself for
the listeners, man, for thepeople. I'm efforting it. What I
ever do for us? Nothing?Literally? Nothing? Oh, I don't
know, maybe no, nothing,I don't know if we've ever had We've
never had a flight of commercials fromNotts Erry Farm before, We've never been

(11:11):
event there, nothing. You neverhad a Petros and money party. Speak
to let our drunk listeners into thepark. Just let us take over the
chicken shack, Matt. I havesome texts for you and some pushback on
some things that I think we shouldget well brought to you by your so
called Toyota dealers. We make iteasy. Just some spirit, uh pushback

(11:37):
or whatever or not pushback. SpiritAirlines has the smallest trade table in the
history of airline trade tables. True, it's like Kate's. You've been on
there. I think it's like fourinches sounds about right. And the further
back you go, the cheaper theseat in the airplane. Thus I sat
in the back and it is likejust metal honors, no room. It's
there's no room. You're sitting onmetal chairs practically with no padding. This

(12:01):
says Kates. Fly Spirit because it'sthe wild wild West of the airline industry.
Your first firearm carry on is free. It's true. This is true.
Somebody else called the Spirit Airlines thewaffle House of the sky. No,
not true. That what it is. I'm glad you mentioned that.
I just read a comment that saidSpirit Airlines ain't nothing but waffle House and

(12:22):
Walmart speed dating. And we gota lot of pushback, at least from
some people. Well, people wereupset when the show. This is a
free show, and the reason youget it for free is because you have
to listen to the commercials. You'rewelcome, not any knots, commercials,

(12:43):
but commercials. No flight of knots, as Matt said. But we we
we do a free show. Butif the Dodgers are on, or if
there's a rain delay, or ifthere's these weird East Coast trips, we
don't get as much airtime as ourlisteners or us are perhaps accustomed to.

(13:07):
And yesterday when we came back withfour hours, some people took umbrage to
our choice in subjects and I gotthis text, you know, just trying
to have a peaceful night with thefamily, and this says here at full
show, after a week of yoyo yo yo, Yoyer's fing us and
your guests question, Mark Oral DVand Billy effing Ripkin. Great we get

(13:33):
to hear you idiots talk about thethe Dodger, the grandular Dodger s in
fing late May, F and AI hate you all, give us a
marathon? How is your weekend? And A and a four movie film noir
F the Dodgers. And I wasjust taken aback by that. Oh that's

(13:58):
one person's opinion, you know.I'm I mean there was more than that.
There was like A put his vacuumtogether. I want an update on
it. I want to know howthe vacuum performed after a week in service.
It's got multiple dogs as the animal, you know, as has the
fur clogged the pipes as he hadto clean it out. I just wonder,
man, I do appreciate that whenKate's was booking Oral Herscheiser and Billy

(14:22):
f and Ripkin and David vasse ifhe thought maybe we're doing too much baseball?
Did that cross your mind? Tim, No, it didn't because it's
baseball season. It's not and footballseason. But the guy said it's f
in May. That's great. Whatdo you want to talk about offensive line
cohesiveness in the off season the NFL? Right now? Maybe we will do

(14:43):
that. I mean, you wantto talk about the NBA Finals, about
the Celtics maybe passing the Lakers forthe most titles against the Dallas Mavericks.
Are going to play that on theOilers and uh Off Saturday night at TV
Bank North Guard tomorrow tomorrow. No, No, I think it's a little
bit later than that next week.Now. In Kates's defense to that snarky

(15:05):
textoso or David Vasse requested to comeon, He did not book David Bass,
David Veasse himself. He fought hisway off a whole. Yes,
he wanted to tell the harrowing taleof the delays in New York City to
four hour show people. You can'tsit and talk about how was your weekend?
For four hours? A vacuum isinteresting. I love vacuums. Well,

(15:26):
he wanted he won hours. Hewanted a four hours of how was
Your Weekend? And a fourth filmfrom their So probably be about three and
a half hours of how was YourWeekend? And then the four film film
Noir. But everybody's got ideas. We try to do our best. One
thing where not is Colin Cowherd, who attacked the USC Notre Dame rivalry and

(15:48):
was talking about offensive line cohesion inthe modern day NFL. That really got
Tim Kates's ear. You talked aboutSC yesterday to petros I, Dan and
I talked to how do you talkabout sports? I talked about SC LSU
this morning, and I talked aboutSC Notre Dame this morning, and we
talked about it on the show. But here's a couple of texts from Colin

(16:10):
Cowherd on the Colin's producing Uh,a couple of texts regarding cow Herd because
we've had some discussion here on thetext to so long. This says Cowherd
is the USC athletics show of record, and it isn't even close. He

(16:30):
even thought about having a podcast onUSC football. He did brainstorm that you're
right, and then this, Matt, Well, real easy would be for
him to get sponsors. I meanthose line up a real shot across the
bow here, Matt, What ifyou and money keep making fun of cowhard

(16:52):
like that? I don't think youtoo will be tapped to be his fill
and hosts just look it out foryou both professionally. Oh, thank you,
I appreciate that. I think whatthey usually like to do is,
uh, they put Cowherd uh onvacation and then then they throw Gottliebon and
still gets in the big chair theGottlieb does radio and then McIntyre does just

(17:15):
does TV or something like that. They split up the production, which is
quite interesting. But I can't possiblytrust you with the simulcast. So you
will do radio and you will dotelevision. I don't really know what goes
into that, but I'm sure DonMartin has something to say important enough.

(17:36):
Today you'll know that we do haveonly one Dodger guest, and that is
David Vasse live from Dodger Stadium.Maybe I just won't call him now.
After all, I even just blowoff David. People parently want to talk
about it. You can't be affectedby the one text whatever. Don't Don
Martin it it's one text osor didyou see this? We've got to change
our whole outlook. I mean, there's breaking Jake Paul, Mike Tyson news.

(17:59):
We can get into that if youwant it. But is that sports?
Is that good enough for you?Textos or I don't think he wants
that for sure. Now, Ithink if we reviewed the Mike Tyson punch
out opponents, you'd probably be intothat. We all know glass shows the
best. Right. Of course, you could say that it's the one white
guy looks a lot like the guy'sgonna fight the one white guy. Uh,

(18:22):
we do have David Vassey. Butwe will get in to the latest
with the NBA as the NBA Finalsare set and they're going to be played.
Like Matt said in July, Idon't know if before or after Independence
Day, but the NBA Finals areset. So we will have a conversation
with our BFF of all time, the one and only Don McClain, on
the Petrosen Money Show in the verynext segment. So to recap today's first

(18:47):
segment, Spirit Airlines Fight, TimKats loves Spirit Air. Uh some listener
he did not take his Spirit Baltimore, but thank you. Seven hour delay.
Tim Kats sitting on top of hisluggage could have felt like, man,

(19:08):
no food, eat that Wi Fi? What the hell do you think?
All right? No Wi Fi,no Wi Fi, no food,
no water, barely a seat, but hey, we were on time Spirit
Air and some listener complaints about ColinCowherd and our guest selection yesterday. Thank
you for listening and thank you foryour patronage. We still have to give
away those Fontaine Blue tickets and reservations. Don McClane will join us next we

(19:33):
got a top story of the day, local Knowledge, We're numbers, song,
Dead and Alive, Vassay and greatsports talk and you on a Frogman
Friday. Well, remember, betweennow and the end of the show at
six, gonna give away that finaltrip to Las Vegas the Fontaine Blue Luxury

(19:53):
Resort, two nights foolside dining atthe Oasis pool deck to tickets to your
choice of shows at Blue Live. That is between now and six pm,
the final of our ten Las Vegastrips that we are given away in ten
days. To keep listening, Keeplistening all the way until six and then
the Dodgers start and you're hooked bythem. The great Don McLean is our

(20:14):
guest right now, the BFF ofthe Petrosen Money Show. The leading score
in the history of the PAC twelvestatue in beautiful Lemon Park in his hometown
of Seam Valley, California, immortalizeshim as a great forever, which he
is. He's also a fabulous coachand preparer of young talented athletes for the

(20:37):
NBA Draft, and the next asshe kisses will be the first. He's
on the Southern California Toyota Dieter celebrityhotline, it is the snake killer himself.
With the NBA Final set to beplayed sometime in July, Don McClain,
Hello, Don, how are you. I'm doing good. We're in

(20:57):
a nice groove on these Friday is. We got a little sideways there for
a bit, but we're in anice We're in a nice ribbon now on
these over the week. You donot know how close you were. Your
toes were hanging on to the clifffor coming on yesterday. McClain, you
almost got pushed into a Thursday. And I know that's not and I know
that's I mean, that's more lessegregious. I guess what would have happened,

(21:19):
decline, You would have to getsomebody else for Thursday. Oh god,
the pain. So people weren't upsetthat we didn't have any basketball talk.
They said it was heavy baseball. So think about it. We don't
need any basketball talk because the finalsdon't start for another month. Yeah,
well, why do they do that? Do you think? I don't know,
because I think because I think they'reassuming these series are going to at

(21:41):
least go five or six, andwhen they don't, this is what happens.
So they have that you guys bothdo TV, so you get it,
like, this is just kind ofhow it goes. But it's rare
that you get a sweep and thena five game series in the conference finals
leading into the finals. Like Ican't remember whatever it is seven or eight
days in between the conference finals inthe finals. Yeah, it's we've had

(22:06):
him, especially when you get thetwo sweeps and you don't have anything at
least, you know, you gotthe one win by the private map by
the Timberwolves to extend it a littlebit. Don just kind of going back
to earlier in the week. I'msure you've got some great perspective and stories.
I mean, you're you're one ofthe great UCLA players of all time.
I can imagine you had a lotof interactions with Bill Walton. Just

(22:26):
kind of your thoughts as you lookback on his life and what he meant
to you. Well, I hatethis and I've thought about it a lot.
That everybody knows Bill Walton now, especially young people, for the broadcaster
that he is. And I wouldsay this, and if I'm being honest,
you know he was polarizing as abroadcaster. If ten people came up
to me in the airport. Sevenof them love Bill Walton. Three couldn't

(22:48):
stand his broadcasting. But what's undeniableis his infectious enthusiasm and his love for
the game. And what I startedto say was I hate that people don't
understand how great he was as aplayer. Now, injuries derailed his pro
career, but if you look backat what he did at UCLA and the
numbers and the titles and the windstreaks and all the stuff he did,

(23:11):
people don't really appreciate that because theyknow him now for what he did in
broadcasting and doing college games. Andyou know, the thing that sticks out
most to me is just I saida few seconds ago, is his enthusiasm
for life, not just for basketballin college basketball, but for life.
And so whether or not you lovedhim in what he did on TV or

(23:32):
not, you have to appreciate thatthat the guy live for every day.
I never want to encountered him whenhe didn't have a smile on his face,
when he didn't have great energy, great enthusiasm. You know, Unfortunately,
because we kind of did the samething, we didn't cross paths a
lot because I'd do a game andhe'd do a different game. In a
different city, but we'd come togetherat the Pac twelve tournament, and you

(23:55):
know, it was great to seehim, and it felt like more when
he was there. It did.It felt like a bigger event, a
bigger deal, because he was there. And so I think, you know,
obviously everybody's going to miss him ina lot of capacities, the broadcasting
being the thing he did most now. But for those of us, I
didn't know him great, but Iknew him and I came across him a

(24:17):
lot. Like you said, Matt, you know, he'll be missed for
your encounters with him and his sayingsand his all his things that he would
say from his past experience that maybea little corny to some and maybe at
the time you're like, yeah,it's a little corny, But now that
he's gone, you're like, youknow, what all the guy's trying to

(24:37):
do is enlighten everyone's day. AndI think that's rare, especially in this
day and age, where you havesomebody that can try and brighten your day
every day. Like his sole goalwas to try and brighten and fulfill and
bring energy to everyone's day, andI you know, that's rare in this
day and age. So yeah,he'll be missed, and such similar broadcasting

(24:57):
styles between you and Yeah, it'slike it's just unbelievable. You know,
mclan and Pash do you know what? Pee? But pee you know what?
And again both you guys do it. That's that's what you have to
appreciate about a lot of things, music, broadcasting, a lot of things.

(25:18):
It's subjective, right. You know, there's people that hate what I
do, but there's people that lovewhat I do. There's people that hated
what Walton did, but there's alot of people that loved what he did.
And so you have to appreciate that. For years, I've said,
we got to get McLain short upon these games. You know, don
are you surprised that the Mavericks haveI mean, we thought the Clippers were

(25:41):
going to beat them, right, are you surprised that they've taken this all
the way to the NBA Finals? And and what does that say for some
of these other teams that kind ofseem to be fledgling and giving them hope
to be able to make a runlike this. Well, a couple of
things. I thought the Clippers weregoing to beat the Maps until we found
out Kawhi wasn't playing, and thenaround Game three, you're like, wait

(26:02):
a second, these MAVs are betterthan we thought they were. And I
think I said it last week, like I kind of had a feeling I
didn't think they'd get to the finals, but I knew they'd get to at
least the conference finals. And youknow the additions they made at the deadline
in this Luca Doncic, I mean, I don't even know what else to
say anymore, but I think whatwe all want is great series, competitive

(26:25):
series. And I think everyone thatI've talked to in the last couple of
days here that when it looked likethe MAVs were going to beat the Timberwolves,
is really looking forward to this BostonDallas series. Yeah, it's interesting
how for whatever reason, donn andyou look, you know it because you
played it there, Like you don'tget a chance to just immediately become one

(26:48):
of the greats in the postseason forwhatever reason, you have to take your
lumps, and Luca has now donethat. And the book was being written
about Luca being a playoff disappointment andnow he's in it. Why is that
this is the one sport for whateverreason, where there are no shortcuts.
That's why you just felt like, yeah, Minnesota's in the conference finals,
but there's just no shortcuts for whateverreason. It's how this league works.

(27:10):
It's a great question, Matt, and I think it comes down to human
nature and just being okay in themoment and how big the moment is.
And sometimes early in your career youhave to experience failure in those moments because
you're just not ready for it.And at some point, not just individuals
but teams get used to the momentand figure out from past experience, Okay,

(27:30):
we've been here before. The momentisn't as big as it was two,
three, four years ago, andwe can do this. And I
think Luke, as great as he'sbeen his entire career so far, I
think he had to go through thattoo, And I think he's now in
a place where mentally he's gotten toa level because of the experience the past

(27:51):
playoff failure where he's okay with themoment and he's certainly delivered how much of
you know, I don't think anybody'ssurprised that eventually made it here. Are
you surprised that Kyrie got this thing? You know? I shouldn't say turn
I mean, I guess you couldsay turned around for how weird it got
in Boston and then in Brooklyn andnobody wanted to trade for him the MAVs
do it. Are you surprised thathe's playing the way? We know?

(28:14):
The talent's there, but just youknow, to have what we now have
from him, which is one ofthe best players in the league. I
think you're surprised if you stay backtwo three years ago when he was doing
some stuff that a lot of peoplequestioned, and all the things that he
was doing. But if you seewhat he's done, you're not surprised,
because you just said it. Thetalent's always been there. He's arguably the

(28:36):
best one on one player in theleague. And he changed. He changed,
he changed his approach, He changedthe fact that he didn't need to
be ball dominant because he knew hewas playing with a guy that's just as
good, if not better than him. And he dug in on the defensive
end. And I don't think that'sbeing talked about enough. How good he's
been defensively, and you can seeeveryone's like, well, he's you know,

(28:57):
he's deferring in the first half andthen he takes over in the second
half. Well, he's trying toset the tone defensively in the first half,
and so it's hard to get twentyin the first half and play at
the level of defense that he's beenplaying. And he understands that. So
he lets Luca do his thing inthe first half, he digs in on
the defensive end, and then athalftime the other team goes in at justin

(29:19):
Luca and he goes bananas in thesecond half, And so that's different for
him. That hasn't always been thecase with him. He's always been a
guy that knew he can beat thefirst defender off the dribble whenever he wants
and then try and make a play. Well, he understands he's on a
really good team now. So it'spart of what I just said about the
defense, but it's also about deferringoffense to other players and trusting that these

(29:42):
other guys PJ. Washington and theseother guys are going to come through and
make shots when they need to.And so far they have the one and
only Don McLain, our dear friend, joining us on the Petrosen Money Show.
Now, Donna, you understand theNBA calendar better than than most people
walking on earth. So is ita big deal that the Lakers are not

(30:06):
going to be able to hire JjReddick? It seems until these NBA Finals
are over, because he's working thefinals, and that's what it seems to
be. The timing is, doesit matter not having a coach for a
month plus or whatever? That's yourcollege brain pee, right, And I
think the same thing like college coaches, you get hired this late. It's
a problem with recruiting and getting everythingin order and all that. But NBA

(30:29):
you still have the rest of thesummer to meet with players and get to
know him and all that, andthen you still have a full training camp.
So no, it's it's look, you would rather than be in there
down and get the process going anddoing all that. But it's not a
problem if he doesn't get hired oryou know, if he doesn't take the
job for another couple of weeks.Well, someone who's already locked up now
is Tyleru Lakers wanted him. Thatwas never going to happen. It seemed

(30:52):
like this was just what's the numberand Steve Balmer would make it happen.
So don moving forward, it soundslike they want to bring everybody back.
Zubs is up for an extension, kaw I already got his harden. Paul
George, do you expect them tojust run this thing back? And do
you think Paul George wants to runit back. It sounds like he's got
some parties out there that are interestedand handed him a MAX deal if he
wants it. Well, I hopeso. And you feel like they're close

(31:15):
enough and it's always been health andit was again this year. Quie didn't
play in the playoffs and obviously ifyou're missing him, you're probably not going
to win a series. So it'sas simple as that. You know,
maybe people don't believe that, butit really is like watching that team all
year and watching what they did betweenDecember and February, like they they had
the team to win the whole thing. Unfortunately it just didn't work out because

(31:38):
of hell. So it does makesense to me that they're going to run
it back. But the interesting partis Paul George and his status and where
he's at and what they're offering him. I don't know any of that.
But if you're going to run everyoneback and sign James Harden. It gives
you the extension that has to includePaul George, because if you take Paul
George out of the equation, andI don't think, I mean, I'd

(32:01):
have to see it when the seasonstarts next year. But if you take
him out of the equation, I'mnot sure you're talking about them as being
one of the three four to fiveteams that can win the whole thing anymore.
What's next in the draft process?Done you just sit around? Oh?
No, you got workouts? Bronnydidn't want to do a bunch of
workouts. Did your other nice turneddown workouts? No? We you know,

(32:22):
it depends on where you're slotted, and it's been that way for a
long time. Where we have ReedShepherd, who's going to be a top
five, top seven, top eightpick, whatever, and so he's not
going to work out for a bunchof teams. He'll work out for three
or four teams. So he's stillhere. He'll be here for another week
and a half, two weeks, and then he'll go do those three or
four workouts. But we have fiveguys. We had our pro day on

(32:44):
the twenty second, and we hadfive guys that two or three days later
left and they're gone. They're onthe road from then until probably a week
before the draft working out for teams, doing ten, twelve, fourteen to
fifteen workouts, and so everyone's different, and it depends on where you're slotted
heading into this thing. But westart early. We start, you know,

(33:06):
first week in April, so wewe make sure no matter who we
have, that we look at ourown personal calendar and where they need to
be in terms of what their calendaris going to look like. And so
we knew that a lot of ourguys this year we're going to have to
do a lot of workouts. Sowe ramped up to Pro Day knowing that
they needed to be ramped up fornot only Pro Day, but for the

(33:28):
next you know, three four fiveweeks leading up to the draft. Hey,
don you can. I don't knowif you want to answer this if
it makes sad, but I thinka lot of people ignore about cheese.
Its Matt. It is not aboutJesus. There's a cheese of development.
Matt. You might have that forthe number of the Oh you don't,
Oh no, don't. I shouldhave sent it to you. I thought
you'd pick it up. Yeah,I don't. I would ask Don about

(33:50):
it and got, you know, chastised, cast castigated all of that.
There's a taco balchiese at tost whatye what? Yes, it wasn't been
too busy. That's slip right pastme, Pete. Don't even try it,
dude. It's an especial and it'shuge, sixteen times the size of
the normotostata. Is that right? What? Correct? Well, I know

(34:10):
where I'm going after we get justto you know what, we should end
it with that, But I gotto ask down because I don't get it.
What does it mean when Rich Paulsays Brownie won't accept the two way
deal, what does that mean? That means that he wants a standard contract
and wants to be on the rosterof a team. Meaning so basically,

(34:30):
all first round picks are guaranteed. It's a four year deal, two years
guaranteed. That's a standard contract, standard rookie scale contract. If you're an
early to mid second rounder, there'sa very good chance that you're getting a
standard contract, even though it's notguaranteed, based on what your pick.
So you might get a three yeardeal whatever the number is. And so

(34:51):
you're now guaranteed three years of salary, but and they can still send you
down to the G League. Butyou're getting paid that money no matter what.
So let's say it's a three year, three million dollar deal. It's
a million per year. You're gettingthat million, and you're on the roster
until they send you down to youknow, the G League or whatever they
want to do with you. Atwo way is basically you get a certain

(35:14):
number of days on the big rosterand you get paid for those days,
but you're not guaranteed the full salary, and it's for way less money like
a standard two way deal I believeis like five to fifty a year,
but you have to earn the wholefive point fifty by being I think it's
forty days or forty five days orhowever many days if you'll get the full

(35:36):
five point fifty if you're up onthe big team for forty five days.
If you're not, then I thinkit's a little less. But you're mainly
spending most of your time in theG League, And so I guess they
just figure, look, Browni's worththe money. You ain't giving them a
two way deal. You're giving thema couple of million bucks because he'll be
worth it in marketing money or somethinglike that. I guess yeah. But
it kind of the hard part aboutthat if your team is like it's kind

(35:58):
of him, it's kind of hamstringingyour roster flexibility because now he's taking up
a roster spot. Two way guysdon't take up roster spots unless they're up,
and so teams manipulate those two waysby let's say a rotation guy gets
hurt and he's out for two months, Well then you bring up a two
way guy and he fills those days. But if you're already on the roster,

(36:19):
now he's taking the roster spot.So it'll be interesting. I mean,
you know, look, we allknow the hype, and everyone's saying
whatever they're saying. To me,it's going to be fascinating. What ultimately
does happen with Brownie? Like doeshe get drafted at all, which I
think is a slight possibility at theend of the second round. But then

(36:40):
whoever signs him as a free agent, what do they do with him?
Because if they're saying he's not signinga two way, teams are going to
look out based on what I justsaid, Like, look, the kid
didn't even get drafted. Why arewe giving him a roster spot? So
it'll be interesting to see what happens. Yes, I'm tired of being the

(37:00):
dog that's that, that's being waggedby the tail as a media member around
here. It's five dollars and fortynine cents. It's sixteen times the size
of a normal cheese it, andit's got a toastata on it. And
then they got one with ah.So the cheese it is like the baseline
toast tortilla. Right, It's likea giant cheese it with the tostata toppings

(37:21):
on the mout. Dude, I'mnot even I'm out six no chance.
You won't even try it. I'mnot even trying. Is it a regular?
Is it original cheese it? Yeah? June sixth, nationwide release for
a limited If it was an extratoasty, big cheese it on the bottom,
I would consider it regular. I'mout. If it's a success,

(37:47):
perhaps you have a chance, youknow, like the dorito thing has expanded,
cool ranch exactly here you go.Uh so, thank you, don
We sure appreciate your insight and we'resorry that you couldn't get excited about that.
Taco Bell Cheese It thing. Iactually have a little bit of a
haffy for it right now, lookingat it. Me too, I want
it desperately right now. Wait tillJune sixth, brother week away up,

(38:14):
Thank you, Don. We'll beback with more great sports talking the very
next segment, some reaction, someknots, Berry Farm and spirit air talk.
We'll have your word in number, some local knowledge. David veasse stay
with us. You taking it down, McLean and David Vassie will join us

(38:40):
next hour. From Dodger Stadium.Dodgers are back taking on the Rockies tonight
three game series short three game homestandbefore they hit the road again for six
Pittsburgh and against the Yankees next weekend. So three at home all weekend.
A long David Bess from Dodger Stadiumin less than an hour. Okay,
Matt, we have a little reactionfrom the first brought to you by your

(39:05):
so called Toyota dealers. We makeit easy. If you have the Taco
Bell app, you can buy thebig Cheese It. Now, what do
you mean if you have the app? I guess you could pre order the
Big Cheese It and get it.Pre order it you can like I can't
buy it now and then go pickit up now. No, I think
you can buy it now and pickit up now. I don't think that.
I think they'll make it for youif you have the app. Really,

(39:29):
that's what's a legs on the textOsO And you know how accurate that
always is. Oh, it's likeWikipedia. Well they told us we were
inaccurate about Beverly Hills cop accusations madeyesterday. That's and they were wrong.
Well, they were right and wrong, Tony Seeger Beverly Hills one wrong.

(39:49):
Hey, Pee, I want tohear money shove a funnel cake in his
grill, then jump on the ghostRider and sit in that roller coaster that
would break his nut sack. That'ssomething that I would head out to Boyda
Park and roll in the knots for. Well, that can be arranged.
We've heard nothing from Knots Kate's anythingsince I brought it up in the first
segment. Anything insurance. Okay, and look at this, Matt, I

(40:19):
do agree with the text Doser.Yesterday's show had way too much Dodger and
baseball talk, so much that yesterdaywas the first time I did not listen
to the replay of the entire showon the iHeart podcast, and then he
sent a crying face. We shouldhave put McLean on yesterday. We were
gonna Billy Ripkin today, but hewon't do Fridays. You know, he's

(40:42):
like Otani. He can only pitchevery six days or not at all.
All Right, here's some Spirit airlines, Spirit Matt for you. Let's go.
I love Spirit air Since they chargedper carry on, no one has
anything in the overhead, makes gettingon and off super quick. Okay,
Well, you're willing to take afist of the face or break up a

(41:06):
fight mid flight. Hey, that'snot the only fight on any airline.
Okay. They just have more thananybody else, considerably more. Just don't
have a medical emergency on Spirit. There is no doctor who flies Spirit.
Now that's not true. It couldbe a doctor with like one of those
Jamaican medicals. Oh here I amyeah, or no, it doesn't even

(41:29):
have to be a Jamaican. Guys'ssomebody that got their license in Jamaica.
Clay Travis got his law degree inthe Bahamas. Spirit is cool for me
for flights under two hours. It'sthe city bus of the sky. I
was on a Spirit flight once anda guy got fully shirtless and no staff
said anything the whole time. Thatstayed with me forever. No coincidence.

(41:52):
It's the same color scheme as thewaffle house. So nobody's just gonna say
anything about this guy. He's gotno shirt. We're good. I mean,
I guess smoke him if you gothim right. It's lonely at the
bottom. Right, you're afraid tohit the service button for an attendant because
he'll charge you for that. Oh, thanks for making it back in for

(42:15):
that, You're welcome. Correction's intertractions. Glass Joe is not the only white
guy and Mike Tyson's punch out. There's Don Flumenko and Soda Popinski as well.
That's right, that's correct. Tonsof white dudes and punching a lot
of white dudes apparently. And Idon't know what would you I always thought
of bold Bull as like a Turkishgentleman. Yeah, but you know that

(42:37):
would uh, you know, you'dsay he's a white guy if he stood
next to you know, Mike Tyson, Right, god Fred is a douche
epotamus. I don't know why somebodyjust sent me that, but it was
important to convey. I'm in Tokyo, and every time I see a Toni's
pick, I hear Vic's voice inmy head saying, oh Tonni Son,

(43:00):
over and over until my ears bleed. I don't know a show, Matt.
This is an interesting text I gotabout JJ Reddick. Are you ready?
I'm ready, Petro. You don'thave to read this on air,
but I met JJ Reddick at theLA Sports Club Equinox on Supulvina in twenty

(43:22):
fifteen. When I was playing atthe at Pepperdine. It was a summer
run. Some of us showed upwith some dudes from UCLA and JJ walked
in and jumped the line to playon the next game. He talked so
much s called touch fowls and wouldstop the game to educate the dude defending

(43:43):
him on why he should keep hishands to himself and would be better off
playing with two hands behind his back. In between games, he brought his
flunky to rebound for him, andnobody could touch that ball and shoot it,
which is standard practice when there aretwenty people at a hoop. A
douche, he wrote in capital letters, Yeah, that's douche. Magic Johnson

(44:07):
used to have people thrown out ofthe the game, no up up in
Beverly Hills, not in the DrewLeague. And finally, in reaction to
Orl Hrschezer, who joined us yesterday, Hey pee that Oral Hrscheizer is a
great dude. But I hear hisbrother Anal is a relay. Congratulations to

(44:29):
Orl on the opening of his Memorabiliusstore in Claremont. They had a media
day to day. I believe ouropponent was out there, Matt, what
doing a remote? What? Somebodysent me a photo? You kidding me?
Nop, How the hell's that happened? I don't know, Matt,

(44:54):
I don't know, but we'll beback with your word number song the day.
I mean, I'm sitting here tryingto order a freaking cheese at Tostata
for pickup at six oh five pm. So it works, Yeah, says
select pickup time, and it's formy Seal Beach Taco Bell. So there

(45:15):
you go. I downloaded the app. I told you from my my email.
There you go. There you gofor the Textoso and somebody here is
correcting. They say that you don'tsit on your luggage. It's spirit that

(45:39):
was irresponsible, Matt. It wascheap shot. Hey, that's a low
blow all right word number Song ofthe day coming up next, Matt's gonna
get a toastata with a cheese it. You got a leg up on everybody, Matt
