The time of the number. Here'smy number, number of the day,
(12:03):
well, number the day. Ican't tell you how many like big
time interviews I've turned down. Hearkensback to a different time. Keep it
lit, Rep City, yeep itlit Rep City, Keep it lit Rep
City? Fifty is your number ofthe day is in fifty bucks. I
thought we had the sound bite, but we don't. I guess it was
just us doing it and our BillRider voice. I like Blinton's Oh but
(12:28):
he loved bat I love but wouldput that beautiful bottle with the uh with
the bronze topper right there behind hisleft shoulder on his bookcase Winston Churchill two
volume biography. Uh, he'll behappy to hear Bill Ryder that the word
is out. You can score abottle of single barrel Blanton's at Costco while
(12:54):
supplies last, if you hurry andit is still available for a round fifty
bucks. WHOA Yes, Blattin's ata one hundred and fifty dollars price point
kind of went crazy the last fiveseven years. Did they make more or
something? Nobody knows. But itfirst showed up in Washington, DC for
fifty nine to ninety nine fifty bucks. That's how much it used to cost
(13:16):
back when I used to drinking rightbefore it went nuts because Rider let the
cat out of the bag and whenhe said it's my drink it. I
used to drink it because I likedit's it wasn't it wasn't that popular,
and it wasn't, but it wasmore expensive than what I normally drank.
It was just so cool and thebottle looked so cool, and it was
really good. And then it justskyrocketed, went through the roof because of
(13:39):
Rider. I like Blnton's. Ithink it was because of that Sons of
Anarchy show that we didn't watch. But yeah, hey, don't advertise an
idiot. You're an idiot to tellpeople you didn't watch. Everybody watched it.
Somebody posted some bottles at Northridge forforty six ninety nine. Whoa,
and right here Kate's and Burbank theCostco had some for fifty six eighty nine,
(14:01):
just at Costco. What if Igo to the BEVMO, I get
kicked out of nuts for two hundredexactly right right to the nuts. But
what about my memory? You knowwhat you get to your nuts lightnin and
if they don't have it, sorry, but I guess the good news is
you're at Costco. So if youshow up and they've already sold out of
their allotment, you could probably walkout with something you really needed, like
(14:24):
a backyard water park for four hundredbucks and inflatable, you know, yeah,
something like that, a watch,or a coffin, or a hot
dog that's a cash get the dollarfifty hot dogs still reable, or maybe
just a bottle of Elijah Craig.Take that extra twenty bucks and you know,
treat yourself. I get the chickenbake It's great, Ronny. This
(14:45):
is a song of the day.Elmer Bernstein was a composer and conductor who
wrote the score for the nineteen sixtyone film The Comanchero's featuring our song of
the day called Texas Rangers. Aninspiring dramatic anthem for a Tuesday afternoon on
the Petros and Money Show, wherethree hours of great sports talk will take
(15:07):
us to Dodger Baseball, who areback at the Ravine and ready for a
good old fashioned showdown with the TexasRangers. That'll begin with Tim Kaits with
that Morogo Casino Dodgers on Deck programcoming up at six o'clock. Thank you
for being here. Are you running? That's a good song. That is
good stuff. We'll be back withsome local knowledge next not try some money.

top picks from Dodgers Clubhouse exclusive brandsand collections that include Cooperstown, Goren,
Nike, and Oakley. Is knowledge, common knowledge, his local knowledge.
He's very knowledgeable on the things thatyou come up with as far as for
with your knowledge. Matt on theheels of yesterday's e Bike Fireworks Talk,
(16:47):
there has been developments. First ofall, a lot of well, a
lot of I would say, alot of reaction from a lot of things
on the show yesterday, Matt,I mean just a great deal first of
all. Gabby hurl Butt very verybig win there. Huh well, polarizing
said right, I would have neverguessed people don't you know, they don't
(17:08):
like that East Coast style out westMatt and I'm a little upset because I
thought, for sure, I mean, when the Celtics win the title,
or if we're going to have herback and let her mo us down with
her voice. And a lot ofreaction about Tim Katz's sho Heo Toady six
(17:29):
month anniversary JP Hornstraw hit piece.A lot of positive, a lot of
positives. I'm assuming there was oneguy's like, this is the best thing
I've ever heard. Yeah, Andthere was a lot of others like this
is just for an award, Yeahit is. So there was a lot
of that, and there was alot of stuff on the heels of yesterday's
e bike fireworks fracas. I evensaw a guy today at yoga, and
(17:52):
it was not the Union guy whosaid I agree with you wholeheartedly. In
fact, Matt, I don't knowtoo many people that are into the e
bikes that are around our age.I was just gonna say, I don't
know anyone that's like, hey,I like these kids running rough shot over
our neighborhoods, going fifty miles anhour, run an e bike. Let
them do what they want. It'sfree country. Brother, Matt Hermosa Beach
(18:14):
exploded over the weekend and we didn'teven know it. What happened last Saturday.
Unruly youths blew fireworks off the pieror around the pier avenue and injured
bystanders. And they were e bikeriders. They rolled up in a group
of e bikes, launched fireworks intoa crowd. A big gang Matt like
(18:41):
warriors like I described yesterday, Matt, juveniles riding around in packs, coordinated
like a flash mob looking for troubleright, attacking families and Hermosa beach on
Peer Avenue, Drunk locals and nonlocals, burnouts and non burnouts, all
(19:08):
at risk on Peer Avenue. Whybecause of the emergence of what the e
bike, which allows these punk assbeach rats and inland rats and all these
suburban rats to strike hard like theteenage mutant ninja turtles and fade away into
the night. I kind of likea little firework terrorism, uncool, Matt.
(19:33):
Firework terrorism is not okay, Heyyou over there, watch this firework
right at your front. LA Countymust legislate against unruly e byke gangs like
Orange County is doing already. They'llthrow It's like the War of the World's
out there. I don't care ifyou're twelve, you're going to gen pop
now. It's on video, Matt. Yeah. They stop to form a
(19:56):
small scrum like a trick play ona kick off return. Oh, you've
got to appreciate that. And thenone no, and then one guy breaks
off from the crowd and shoots afirework into a big group of people.
Children, families, drunkards, burnouts, all running recovery. None are safe.
It's terrible. KTLA reported that therewas a few minor injuries, but
(20:22):
nobody was hospitalized. Stop the ebike gangs, stop them now, local
legislators, cities, police departments, stop these unruly e bike gangs of a
whole youths. Tackle them off theirbikes, like Mario Lopez and the cable
(20:47):
bike cop show. I think itwas on USA Pacific Blue Unsaddle. This
snotty cavalry. Oh they're doing fullmortars without the two and just letting it
explode. Right, are these littlepunks? They're animals and they're little pal
Parolta Santa Cruz sweatshirts. Hermosa Beachpolice is investigating, and this is something
(21:12):
that needs to be figured out verysoon. We can't live like this.
Anymore in our neighborhoods with these ebikes. The one grease monkey dirt bike
kid, as we talked about,is now like ninety percent of the class
competing with each other on who canhave a faster and dumber e bike.
(21:33):
And the only reason they're running upand shooting fireworks into crowds, Matt,
is because they can get away sofast on the goddamn e bite. Get
yourself a nice Roman candle, youknow, just kind of launch one after
another. I am not against publicfireworks. I am against fireworks shot into
(21:55):
crowds of people understandable. I thinkthat's a that's God, It's not a
safe prank. No, And Iam wholly against e bikes. I think
they should all be stacked and throwninto the ocean and used as homes for
fish to go in and out of. And a nice artificial reef. Let's
go, exactly artificial reef. Let'sgo, I will. I was in
(22:18):
her Mosta just the other day onSaturday, Matt, and I didn't know
that later that day or Sunday,I didn't know that earlier that night there
had been such a fracas at PeerAvenue. Now, if you were there
to witness it, and you hadthe opportunity, with the great strength you
have in your trunk to kick theback tire out of one of those bikes
and watch that kid go tumbling tothe ground. Would you do it?
(22:41):
Yes, yeah, I'd like agood kick the back tire out and I
would be I would be arrested becauseof the CCTV and I would be the
bad guy, and some punk assHermosa guy would take that lived on Valley
or something would take me to andthey'd make me look like a bad guy,
(23:03):
some punk because of his terrible ebike. Rat that happened in this
neighborhood. Some kid got hit bya car on his e bike and they
sue the car and it's like, get off the street with your dad for
saken e bike. I must sayI really enjoyed that MODELO Negro mich Alta
Quisato's and her Mosa avidence a goodone. That's been there a long time.
Yeah, been out there in along time, but I did not
(23:27):
know about that terrible thing. Stopthese gangs, Matt, and yes they
are. And I have you knowthis. When the e by kids go
flying up and down the street,I stand strong on my driveway and just
slowly shake my head in a disapprovingway. You can do better than that.
What do you want me to do? Flip them off there? You
(23:48):
throw eggs at my house? Whatyou do is you put a bunch of
nickels into a tomato and you throwit at their head. I took it
too far. I took my revolutionagainst the bites too far, and now
I've been incarcerator. Big story outthere, though, Matt and my e
by crusade is not over. Thishas to stop until it's legislated against Annai
(24:10):
County and every child's e bike istaken from their hands while they're crying,
thrown into the Pacific and creating anartificial reef. Thank you, Thank you,
everybody. We'll be back with moregreat sports talk. Coming up next.
We got David Massey live from DodgerStadium. Corey Seegers in the house,
but he's not playing Petro some money, AM five seventy LA Sports Live

Fifty inch westing House, HDTV,notts Berry Farm tickets, Burke Williams gift
cards, Dodger tickets, and afive hundred dollars Dodgers Clubhouse Store gift card

(24:55):
imagine Dragons at the iHeartRadio Theater. That's right, people, all of
that available to you potentially if youcome see us on Friday from three to
six at the Rock and Bruce BuenaPark. Let's talk to David Vasse with
an inside look at the Dodgers. This is the Vass Report with David Vasse.
(25:18):
David Vasse is with us. He'sat Dodgers Stadium. The Rangers,
defending World Series champs are in town. He's back from New York City and
his many dalliances with the famous andrich, and here he is on the
Toyota Dealers for Southern California Celebrity Hotlineand of course from Spectrum Sportsnet LA,
(25:40):
from MLB Network and right here onAMPI seventy LA Sports. David Vasse at
the Real Underscore DV on Twitter. What's cracking, Dave? How are you?
I'm doing? Great, beautiful dayat Dodgers Stadium. And I'm excited
for this home stand. The Dodgersare going to face the defending World Series
champion Rangers despite them being three gamesunder five hundred and Corey Seeger not going
(26:03):
to play tonight, but certainly excitedabout this and seeing the resurging Kansas City
Royal who are near the top ofthe Al Central. So should be an
interesting home stand against the American League. Dave, I know I overreact regularly,
but is there any sort of shortleash for the back end of this
rotation, particularly James Paxton after thelast outing in Pittsburgh? How close are
(26:29):
we watching these things start by startas guys start to get healthy, I'm
speaking to Bobby Miller and maybe beready to get back to the rotation.
Yeah, and Bobby, I expecthim to be back during this stretch that
starts tonight again with thirteen in arow. We all know the Dodgers want
to give Yamamoto five days a rest, so I would expect Bobby Miller to
(26:51):
be in the mix here. TheDodgers are playing it very coy, not
basically admitting they are going to dropby Miller here because of a competitive advantage
they perceive, but Nonetheless, Iexpect him back. If it's not Bobby
Miller, I could see Landon Natgetting a spot start as well. As
(27:11):
far as tonight goes. James Paxton, I think we're monitoring his innings for
sure. I feel like James Paxtonis serving the purpose of giving the Dodgers
the innings they need for the firsthalf of the season. So we'll see
where it goes in the second half. But I feel like for the first
half of this season he's held uppretty well and for the most part,
(27:33):
has given the Dodgers the innings theyneed to get through the first half of
the season. The Great David Vasseis our guest, you know, Dave.
When Corey Seger comes around, itgets people thinking and if they just
won a World Series, And ofcourse he didn't do it alone, but
he was a born and bred Dodgerand they traded him away or let him
go so Mookie Betts could come in. Is that still a real point of
(27:57):
contention or a regard or do youthink people are over that. No.
I feel like you still see alot of Seagar jerseys at Dodgers Stadium,
Petros. I know the fan basewould have loved to have seen Seeger stay
his entire career with the Dodgers. You go back and look at how this
all unfolded. The Dodgers were uncertainwhether or not Seger would re sign with
(28:21):
them, so they make that blockbustertrade with the Nationals at the trade deadline
in twenty twenty one to not onlyacquire Max Scherzer, but also Trey Turner,
who played second base the rest ofthat year and also was insurance for
Seeger possibly leaving. And you talkto a lot of his teammates back then,
(28:41):
during that year and even the yearbefore, they always felt like if
there was another team he was goingto sign with, it was going to
be with the Texas Rangers. Andthat's exactly what happened. Now, could
the Dodgers have done more to tryto keep him, Yeah, of course
they could have. They could havetried to match it, but you know,
with the state tax difference, itwould have cost the Dodgers close to
(29:03):
four hundred million dollars to match whatthe Rangers were offering him. So it
stinks because the business of baseball gotin the way of Corey Seeger staying with
the Dodgers. Did we tend toat least. I do tend to only
ask when things kind of go bad, as opposed to or really well,
as opposed to just sort of status, Like, we have not really asked
you a whole lot about Blake Trinan. But guys, already up to eleven
(29:26):
innings, has not a looted asingle run, barely a hitter gets on
base whenever he comes in. Ishe fully healthy? Is he full go?
Do you have to watch his pitch? You know? Count? Can
he pitch on back to back days? Kind of like what's the latest?
Because he's as important a part ofthat bully as anybody. Yeah, I
don't believe he's to the point whereDave Roberts can use him three out of
four days. But he has beenas nasty as ever, for sure.
(29:49):
And that's why I believe the Dodgersare going to be looking for a relief
pitcher at the trade deadline, ontop of finding another bat somewhere, whether
it's the out field or the infield, Because you look at Blake trining coming
off two years of being on theIL, Daniel Hudson basically on the IL
(30:10):
for two years, you kind ofneed some insurance, some fresh arms down
the stretch. You have another veteranlike Ryan Brazier who's on the IL.
He's thirty six years old. Noword on when Joe Kelly's coming back.
So they have a lot of veteranrelievers with a lot of recent injury history,
and you have to be careful withthem to make to make them available
(30:33):
down the stretch. And that's whyI feel like the Dodgers looking for another
arm at the trade deadline is justas important as them adding another bat to
linked in their lineups. What isit that makes Bruce Bochie such a special
manager. We hear all this greatstuff about Dave Roberts all the time and
(30:53):
how he like hugged that guy's headon the pitcher's mount Yeah, but what
is it about I mean Bruce bowShould we talk about how big his head
is, of course, but whatis it about him that has made him
so successful with the Giants and nowwith the Rangers and the Padres Petros.
He took him to the World Series, their last World Series. So the
(31:14):
biggest thing that I hear from playersthat play for Bochie is he believes in
them, He bets on them.He also is very direct with them.
He's not going to sugarcoat things ortry to be passive aggressive. He'll have
tough conversations with his players and letthem know where they stand. And also,
(31:34):
like when I say that, hebelieves in his players. And nowadays,
a lot of these decisions by managersare dictated well before the game starts,
before you see how the game isunfolding. And that's what separates Bruce
Bochi from some of these other managersand why he's been successful even in the
last seven years where it's really explodedtowards that direction. It's not Yes,
(32:00):
he has the historical numbers on whatthe matchups may look like, but he
also has a great feel for thegame. Being a former catcher and obviously
having a lot of games under hisbelt, not only in the major leagues
but also in the minor leagues, and managing in the minor leagues. All
those things add up to a lotof experience to have the game not speed
(32:23):
up on him in the dugout, and he did it again. And you
look at where he's at in hiscareer and how bad the Giants have been
since they let him go. I'msure people in San Francisco are lamenting the
fact that basically he was run outof town because he wouldn't buy into Farhan
ball. Yeah, but that's goingreally well up there, of course.
(32:45):
Yeah, Dave. Last thing fromme, is it fair to say the
National League stinks? Or is itreally competitive? And that's why we've got
all these kind of teams that aresort of hovering around five hundred or is
it just because the injuries with theBraves, you know, obviously as a
qualifier, but it certainly feels likeit's the Phillies, the Dodgers on a
(33:06):
bunch of pretty average teams. Well, you're onto something. It's actually the
Dodgers, the Phillies, the Braves, and the Brewers. Those are the
only four teams with winning records inthe National League. So it's not just
the Dodgers and Phillies. It's thosefour teams. And yeah, I liken
(33:27):
this last week to the National League. In twenty eighteen, when the Dodgers
and Brewers met in the NLCS,that was not the best version of the
