You're Gone, Vic Trust some MoneyHam five seventy el A Sports Live
Everywhere on the Ihearted Radio app.Dodgers off for the All Star Break,
All Star Game Tonight show, HeyOld Pani, and the Dodgers back on
Friday as they host the Boston RedSox. David Vasse, though he does

(00:28):
not get a break, he willhave off Night Dodger Talk tonight from seven
until eight pm, and he willjoin us around four thirty for a preview
and a celebration of the Oscar Hernandezand the first ever home Run Derby championship
by a Dodger in All Star GameHome Run Derby history. And I guess
it's a time of the Last Tuesdayand a two ed Mono Tuesday, and

(00:52):
there was a Dodger Brass event thatthey all went to. They didn't think
TiAl Scar was going to advance, and he did advance and one and all.
So we'll get more on that aseverybody gets back from the All Star
Game. But we do have twomajor players when he comes to the Dodgers
on today, Dino Ebel the guywho threw that VP for too. Scar

(01:17):
and David Vasse will join us andwe will talk to him on this two
ed mono Tuesday. We got afour hour show and those are two good
guests. We're also going to talka lot of NBA basketball, Matt with
you and the top story of theday, of course, and Mark Medina
is going to join the show totalk about what we've been seeing in the

(01:38):
summer League, because well, Iknow what I've been seeing. I don't
think I'm seeing the same things thatother people are trying to tell me I'm
seeing. Yeah, and I supposethat is the part of it that's upsetting.
And I let me just give perhapsan example, please, because I

(02:00):
don't know about you, Matt.We do the show together, we've done
it for a long time. Butjust going to some dot com or a
news aggregator, which is a wordor phrase you like to use. We're
not as sophisticated as JJ Reddick engagementfarming. Nobody is. But everything breaks
on Twitter. Everything's on social media, and if you really want to get

(02:23):
to the bottom of something these days, you've got to go to social media.
And I just want to say howcreepy. It is that the folks
at Clutch sports have got their hooksinto so many people about Bronnie James,
and it's like you can't even keeptrack of it. It is an absolute
nightmare. For example, last night, the Lakers played the Celtics, right,

(02:46):
and you actually watched a lot ofit. I finally watched a game.
Yes, I watched every minute thatBronnie played in that game last night,
and the highlight showed and we allknow all the stuff we've talked about
and everything like that, and itshould be reiterated over and over because people
are always coming to the show atdifferent times. But the highlight that the

(03:07):
ESPN people showed played seven or eightplays, including two Bronnie plays, a
deflected pass, and a mad jumper. ESPN is not telling the game story
in its highlights. It's intentionally onlyshowing positive stuff about Bronni that is not
the story. That is not thestory. All you have to do is

(03:31):
ask anybody that watched the game,or go on to social media and type
in Lakers, type in Bronni, type in NBA, type in Summer League,
type in Lebron type in Jalen Brown, type in Angel Reese type in
anything. The story is that Bronni'sstinking it up. But ESPN is not

(03:52):
telling that story. To say thatESPN is on board with clutch sports is
an understatement, and it's pathetic. That's the understatement of the century. It's
pathetic. You have to show thePhilip seymour Hoffman like three point shot that
clanged off the back iron and thenthe airball that followed along with the deflection.

(04:15):
Brownie is now zero of fourteen frombeyond the arc. That's the story.
It's the story. You know, here's a defensive highlight that we want
to show you, a deflection thatled to a steal and a runout layup.
But here's one of the worst shotsyou'll see in the summer League by
any player as well, and theydon't do that. And that's that's not

(04:35):
okay, No, it's terrible. And Rich Paul was on the prow this
morning, by the way, Ithink he was on. He was on
another show earlier this maybe yesterday,I think he was on one of the
other morning shows. And today hewas on with McAfee right spinning it and
they give him a platform to spinit and they don't push back it's a
weird political campaign. You see somethingand everybody knows what they're seeing. My

(04:59):
god, it's basketball. The balleither goes in or it doesn't. You
either make plays or you don't.You either look like you belong out there
in the NBA Summer League, whichis not the NBA not even closed,
or or you don't belong out there. This kid has shown that he clearly
doesn't belong out there. It's aterrible thing for him. I can only
imagine how embarrassed he is. Ofcourse, he won the video game Championship.

(05:20):
Congratulations, got a championship built outof that. Perhaps that's telling right
where you're spending your time on callof duty modern warfare. But I am
like most eighteen year olds, it'sdisgusting, and I think it speaks to
a lot of stuff in our livestoday where if you really want to see

(05:41):
what happened, you really want tosee what somebody did, you go to
social media and you have to sitthrough all this BS and figure it out
for yourself, and you can't trustthe sports networks to give you the actual
story anymore. Yeah, and Ithink this is the guy's not not only
is he doing bad he's doing epicallybad and it's a horrible embarrassment to the

(06:04):
Lakers organization. Yeah, as theNBA as a whole. That's the story.
And this is where the people thatare pushing back with the Stephen Jones
and the Bill Belichick's kid. BillBelichick is not making the rounds and selling
his son as a defensive genius andforcing him down their throats like, oh,

(06:29):
you knows, I just I thinkhis name is Steve. You know,
Steven is He's he's one of thebright defensive minds and we are lucky
to have him. If he wasn'ton my staff, thirty one other teams
would want to Hi. That's nothappening. Jerry Jones is not making the
round saying, Ah, I'm gonnatell you about Steven. He's one of
the brightest football minds. And Imean he's right up there with Gil Bryant,

(06:49):
and he's right up there will runWolf as the greatest GM up.
That's not happening. No, it'sit's the difference meglomaniacal dream from what is
sold to be one of the greatplayers of all time, and he's moved
all these chess pieces and created thisscenario, and we are supposed to turn

(07:09):
our heads and act like, firstof all, he didn't create the serecenario,
he didn't move all these chess pieces, and then we're supposed to act
like it's okay that he's able todo this. This is not a scouting
position or a tight end coach orsomething like that in a gigantic football organization.
This is a roster spot on anNBA team, and these are some

(07:30):
of the most fine tuned great athletesof all time. And it doesn't sit
well with people. It doesn't sitwell with me, and the media part
of it sits worse with me,and I believe you're the same Matteh than
actually seeing the kid in action, which is really getting sad as opposed to

(07:51):
anything that you want to be like, hey, gotcha, you're not any
good he was second. There wasnever an expectation, and they've heated all
of this around him, and Ithink it's very unfortunate. It's done a
great disservice to the to the kid, and it's too bad. Like,
look, the number one fan accountfor Laker basketball, and I hope this

(08:11):
whoever runs it does not take thisas an insult. It's a fan account
Lake show Yo, it's got likehalf a million followers post clips of Laker
stuff all the time. He's postingBrownie clips last night with oh no yeah,
and he's you know, he's asmoke yes, yes, and he's

(08:33):
even posting oh god no, ohno no, just make it stop,
make it stop. And to have, you know, like Rich Paul to
make the rounds and then say thatwith the Jalen Brown clip, he was
asked about it to say, well, look, you know, Jalen Brown's
got an opinion. It's a it'snot you know, the opening of the
film is not where the end creditsrun. This is a long this is

(08:54):
going to take time. But thenif you want to say that, fine,
but then to say, hey, hey, at least Jalen Brown's an
NBA player to have that opinion.Hey fu, it is anybody that has
watched basketball for a brief moment intime that can see it. When you
watch the game, it is nothard to see when he's on the floor

(09:16):
who he is. If you puton coke bottle glasses to blur your vision
and you don't know who's wearing whatnumber or uzu, you can pick that
guy out as the dude that doesnot belong on the floor. You know.
There's a sweet Los Angeles Lakers dotCom blurb about Bronnie from Mike Tredell,
the gallum like Laker reporter, andthe headline says, this, Matt

(09:43):
Bronni's showing signs of what two thingsthat the Lakers were looking for out of
Bronnie. James head into the summerleague play point of attack defense to spearhead
the team's effort and attack downhill onoffense. He has no handle. He
can't attack downhill on offense. Theguy would have a handle. Point of
attack defense has been evident with regularityfor Bronny, who through four games often

(10:05):
picked up opposing guards full court anddid well to limit initial drives by his
man. So he's the cable guy. An early individual highlight against Boston came
with a big swat and transition defensethat had the crowd roaring. His best
defensive game Kevin against Miabi, wherehe had three blocks and two steals.

(10:26):
I mean that's not the story.I mean that's at Lakers dot Com.
It's yeah, that's not the story. The story is that three pointer that
clanged off the back iron. Andthe entire Thomas and mac Arena could be
the TV goingsh you can't say I'mriding this about Bronny. That's not the

(10:50):
story. Bronni is struggling with hisshot and he's going to need to figure
it out at six foot one ifhe's going to be able to play in
an NBA game. Tell the story, you losers. Tell the story.
Tell the story. VIC. Youscared to tell it? Vic? Well,
the naked eye you could see.Oh don't you make it? Eye
me with the naked eye eyes wentby making a VIC. You can see

(11:16):
it. Listen. He's not anNBA player, no at this point though.
He's over fourteen from the arc inthe four games, so obviously needs
a lot of work on his jay. But he made all those threes at
the combine, and that shut everybodyup. Remember that, dep I remember,
yeah, I remember people celebrating that. When there's nobody on the floor,

(11:37):
when you can take as much timeas you want and you're shooting in
an open gym, take your time, take your time, take it easy,
everyone. No, you're excited aboutthat, woo. Never mind the
twenty seven percent in actual games whenhe was at SC You know, Palinka
and Raddick talking about how this guyearned everything few He was gifted a spot
on the McDonald's All Star Game outof high school, gifted a spot in

(12:00):
the NBA draft. Combine hasn't gifteda spot on the Laker roster. He
hasn't hurt anything, earned anything yetwhy would he work hard now to earn
a spot? He's a video gamechampion. How would you let how could
you let yourself get gaslighted? Vic? I'm sorry, go ahead. You
know I have no affiliation with withCollutch and you guys know that, of

(12:20):
course not. But I'm a I'ma basketball purist. You are, And
I'm seeing a kid struggle with ashot. I'm seeing some I'm seeing,
you know, scenes of defensive talent. But he's obviously headed for the South
Bay. He's not gonna make thisLaker roster. Uh. He needs thousands
and thousands of reps. Okay,if you want to see Bronnie, I

(12:46):
think you guys made it evidence withBarry Barry Rudin from Barry's tickets dot com.
Get your tickets, you know, for the South Bay Lakers to see
Uh, to see Bronnie and theSouth Bay Lakers, by the way,
is like the Summer League, onlyprobably a little bit worse. So,
like, think about the level ofcompetition. That's what he's facing right now.

(13:07):
And he's zero for fourteen and he'sshooting twenty one overall. I think
you' shooting less than fifty percent onhis free throws. He is six foot
one, does not have a handle, cannot shoot, and you know what,
really hard to make it. Maybemy eye isn't naked, maybe it's
fully clothed, but this SHOT's notgoing in. No, it's not going

(13:30):
in. Well, on the onthe bright side, what's the bright side,
mister Bright's side, what do yougot, flowers? Well, remember
now, remember I'm not comparing himto Irvin Magic Johnson's rookie year. Don't
you do it? Earth couldn't hita shot, Irv could not hit a

(13:52):
shack. Apologize, immediately, apologize, I'm not compared. Immediately. Might
have to get ejected. Matt Wait, turn him down, turn him down,
turn him down, turn him down. Now, Tributal's gotta be formed.
But tri Butles gotta be formed.I can't believe that was just sat
on our show. He's a sixfoot nine point guard that had the best

(14:18):
handle in the NBA. The secondhe stepped on the floor, he was
the best playmaker. The second hestepped on the floor, you averaged ten
rebounds per game as a point guard. He led the effing Charge to a
championship. My god, Adam isa basketball head. Did you hear Vic
say that? Adam? He justsaid Irv had to find his shot his

(14:43):
rookie season magic Johnson like when heplayed every position in bat Philly, yet
compared to Bronnie's current struggles. Hewanted to remind everybody that Irvin Magic Johnson
was not the best shooter his rookieyear. Did Bronnie just win ye a
champion? I don't remember that overLarry Bird Vick. How could you do

(15:03):
that? Wait? Wait, waitwait? Should we bring him back?
Well, he's got to apologize.I mean, you can't. You can't
do that. Should we just lethim apologize on social media? I don't
know if he can. I'd liketo. I would like to give him
the opportunity. All right, bringhim back? You thought about it?

(15:26):
It is. My point is I'mnot comparing them. I'm saying the jump
shot can be improved, and I'mjust citing Irv's jump shot when he first
came in needed improvement. He shotfifty three his rookie year as a point
guard. Magic improved his jump shots. I'm saying it can't. The jump

(15:48):
shot can be improved. That that'smy point. I'm not comparing the skill
set to a matter why he shouldhave improved it at Quinnipiac. That's where
it should have been maybe so,yes not maybe not. Maybe so needs
help, needs help on the onthe jump shot. This is a crime.

(16:10):
Let's think you can't make that, you can't do that. You have
not You've not apologized, Victor, you have misinterpreted my points. But you
mentioned Magic Johnson in the same sentenceas Bronnie James and early season some jump
shot issues. No, didn't matter, It didn't matter like Bronny game was
insane. Of course, Yeah, like Bronni has to be able to hit
three pointers to hit an NBA floor. He can't step on a floor.

(16:34):
You know, this is like whenyou're telling your kid they screwed up and
they start arguing with you about likewhat moment it was that they came home
as opposed to like the general. You know you came home, you know,
twenty minutes late. No, itwas seventeen. You know that Vick's
trying to to pull us down intothe minute shot to deny the You're you're

(16:55):
trying to deny the overall point atall Magic Johnson you mentioned and the same
breadth as brought imagine. Yes,I'm just saying the jump shot. No,
And I have vision of visions ofIRV you know, improving his jump
shots, you know, on adaily basis, by taking ten thousand jump
shots a day. I'm saying That'swhat Broughdy has to do is to understand

(17:17):
why you can't mention those two peoplein the same sentence. You understand why
that is not an apt comparison becausethe guy was a starting point guard in
an NBA championship team and averaged likenine rebounds and eight assists per game and
still shot over fifty percent. Youneed the cat you can't get. You're

(17:38):
getting abused. I'm gonna I juststart socking you. My salient point.
Does a jump can be improved?Suspensions being called for Vick all over the
Textelso suspension calls reigning down like Vick. I would have even pushed back if
you would have said Alex Caruso, who was a really good perimeter defend and

(18:00):
improved his jump shot so he couldstay on the floor longer by stretching the
floor. Like if you would havesaid that, I still would have pushed
back, Like Alex was a muchbetter shooter than Branny when he came in.
But I know, I kind ofget the gist of what you're saying
here, right, And remember we'retrying to develop, like JJ Reddick said
in his press conference, we're tryingto develop the whole athlete. So the

(18:21):
jump SHOT's one thing. First, you got to get good at call of
duty. I mean, you gotto improve there and I and I man,
my point is the jump shot canbe improved. I'm not saying it
will be improved, but the artof the jay, as you guys know,
through repetition, you can get it, right, that's my point.

(18:45):
You can't. I just don't knowif he can't. That's my points they're
starting. Is that a phony phonecall somebody might be calling for a suspension
or any injection, right, andit's a two Edemano Tuesday. Yeah,
and you've really put us in apickle here, Vic Well, I'd like

(19:07):
to call a rundown. But you'vereally put us in a pickle. Let's
say Dalton Connect. Is that hisfirst name? Yeah, it's two Edemano
Vic. He's actually scoring points.Yeah, he's averaging over twenty. He's
been he has been improving every gameand seeing the shots going connect and they

(19:27):
look good when he shoots him, even if they don't go in, they
at least look good. And heattacks rack. He's gonna he's got a
nice game game. I'm gonna gowith the Dalton Gang. I'm gonna go
with Dalton. His name is Dalton. I'm gonna go with Brad Wesley Nice.

(19:51):
What's that? I brought the funnelout here. J C. Penny
coming here because of me. Askanybody, they'll tell you. I'll go
with bred Holland. I'll go withTodd Hollandsworth. I'll go with Holland the
country. I will go with thewindmill symbolic of the Netherlands. I'll go

(20:18):
with Mikonos, the windmills I gotone. I will go with Petros the
Pelican, the mascot of the Islandof Mykonos. Rapid fire with your hips,
Vic, can you do it?Island of Lesbos, in Greece or
Lesbians. I'll go with Jodie Fosterno reason, great contributors to the Peloponnesian
Wars, the Lesbos. I willgo with h Foster, the People,

(20:47):
the band Pumped Up Kicks, Let'sgo. I will go with George Forester,
the great Cincinnati red slugger George Forster. I'll go with Foster's Freeze.
Wow, even izz, he's callingfor suspension. Now you know you've really
fed up VIC. I'll go withmister Freeze, Victor von Freeze. I

(21:11):
will go with Dairy Queen DQ thirtyone Flavors, Basking Robbins. I worked
there, did you? When Iwas in high school? I was a
severe scooper man Forest Hills. Queen'svery nice Jamocha. I'm and fudge.

(21:32):
Well to me, that takes thevictory right there. Well done, big
if you're a if you're an icecream jockey, yeah, oh resolutely.
Lots of calls for a vic atat Brawny Tribunal here. Yeah, I
understand. I don't think he's bringingout I'm talking about the jump shot fellas.
You still should not have Guy sixnine. I mean, everybody join

(21:59):
us in song, they say ranaway away. Everybody marked with the cowards.
Wait, what do you do namefor about the j innocent? Not

(22:22):
a charge was true. If hecould really shoot Vic, he might have
been drafted by somebody else. Sellingpoint going, there's the one who ran
magic eighty from the free throw line. Is rookie season every go from life.

(22:48):
You must, you gotta prove ityou're a man. Petrow send money
show y'all. Come on now.Yeah mhmm, you're gonna really have to

(23:10):
sit and think about this, Vic. Yeah, really, you're really gonna
have to sit and think about whatyou just did. I mean, moment
of reflections in your future. Vic. Here's the exact text from Isabelle.
He's out of his mind and heneeds to be suspended. Guys, some

(23:33):
breeze, the summer breeze is blowingthrough vicxed dome. Wow, how can
we recover and talk to Dino Evil. Well, that's what's gonna happen.
Dino Ebel's gonna help us recover.Talk about Til Scarr went at the home
run derby. We'll be back withmore Petro mondy five seventy only Sports Live

(24:02):
everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. You'reHome of the Dodgers. It is All
Star break. All Star Game ishappening, and the Dodgers will not be
back in action until Friday. BudDavid Vase no rest for the weary off
night Dodger Talk from seven until eightpm tonight after this fancy little four hour
show. Pee that's right, Matt. He might have Jake Peevee, but
we got Dino Ebel. That's right. Hero to the people, sand produced

(24:27):
finest and Dino Ebel a lifetime inthe Dodger organization. Pretty much was the
man pitching to Teo Scar last nightwhen the very first Dodger ever won the
home run derby. Take that.Jock, the Great Tino Evil, Dodger
third base coach and World Series champion, joins us on the Southern California Toyota

(24:51):
Neither celebrity hotline on this day duringthe All Star Break. Thank you for
taking out the time, coach. We sure appreciate it. How are you?
I'm great, Thank you so much, and just relaxing here, get
ready to go to the All StarGame. Just give us a little bit
of an idea of what it waslike last night, how much fun that

(25:11):
was for you? You've had alifetime in the sport and so many great
experiences. How will you remember lastnight? It was a special night.
And like I said, last night, after the you know, after the
derby, we I truly enjoyed itbecause of you know, watching Hernandez,
you know tale when the when thewhen Bobby Wit hit the ball off the

(25:33):
wall and just I sat behind himjust to see the expression on his face.
And when he stood up and thearms went up and the family was
all right there, and he lookedup into the stands and gave a big
shout out to all of his otherfamily members that are here with us at
the All Star Game. It wasspecial for me. That's that's why I
do these home run derbys, becauseit's never been about me. You guys

(25:55):
know that It's always been about theplayer, and it's always an honor getting
asked to do it. But myjob was solely to try to get as
many pitches that you know where Taoskawanted it, and I tried my best,
and he when the lights came on, when we needed him to show
up. That's what I said lastnight. He showed up in a big
way. Hey, coach, Ice, water in your veins man, I
mean, you have got to placethose balls perfectly. In this year with

(26:19):
a new format, you get thosebonus pitches and I how much stress if
any Like you said, you're notnew to this, You've done it for
a number of Dodgers in the past. But kind of dude, people aren't
giving you enough credit. That's alot of pressure trying to place those balls
perfectly. Well, you know, you know, you know, I don't
look at his pressure because this iswhat I do. I'd love throwing batting

(26:42):
practice. I do it every dayfor a long time. And you know,
the opportunity that I've had chances tothrow in the derby, you know,
I didn't see nothing, I didn'thear nothing. All I saw was
tail and the catcher. You know, I'd block everything out and you know,
and it's it was hot and hugewent inside you know in the stadium

(27:02):
at the time. I don't knowif you noticed, but I was kept
bouncing the ball, you know,on the on the ground there with uh
uh, you know, the pitchingmound because if I kept the ball in
my hand, on my it wasjust so much moist and water on yeah,
and I was a little bit slippery. That's why there was times I
was yanking the ball on the outerhalf, but the game plan was for
Tayo and I was when when hekind of dropped his shoulders, that's when

(27:25):
he wanted me to fire. So, uh, that was the game plan
going in first round. He wantedit more up and up and middle.
And then after we got past thefirst round, I locked in and he
said, just throw it down themiddle and let me do do what I
know. You know, my bestis just try to launch this ball and
pull a ball on the left side. So that's what the game plan was
going. You know, beyond thefirst round, it seemed like he had

(27:48):
a lot of well i'll call ithelp. A lot of people that were
offered advice. We heard Vlad Guerrerotold him he out a shot. I
think it was a show, heythat told him what stopped trying to pull
go a little bit more left center. A lot of people kind of advice
toward tail. Huh, yes itwas. And you know, tayl has
got some tremendous power to right center. That's where he usually you know,
hits his home runs. And butin these derbies, you want to try

(28:11):
to pull the ball down the lines. It's a little bit shorter, but
yeah, it was awesome to seeshow Hey and all the other guys there
with Freddie and you know, WillSmith and some of you know Taale's buddies
from the other teams, but littleFlad Junior watching him grow up in the
game when I was with the Angelswith Lad Senior and seeing him, and
it was great. Just it's alwaysan experience for me, but the thrill

(28:33):
that I get is just after thefact and watching families and friends and smile
and enjoy, you know, pumpand fist and and and to get back
to what you said on the newrules, it's it's a little different now
because if you miss it counts asa pitch, and you know, you
have the three minutes for forty baseball. So I do like that, and
I think the players like it.They don't, you know, they don't

(28:55):
get worn out as fat, sohopefully they can stick with that game plan.
The great Dno as our guest,he never gets worn out, you
know here in the way you describedthe scene last night. And maybe it's
because a Dodger and somebody we knowabout had the success, but it feels
like these guys are still kind ofable to reset a little bit. Even

(29:15):
though they're at the All Star Game. It feels like a different, more
laid back vibe because it feels like, you guys need a break. Yeah,
well, yeah it is. Youknow, it is All Star time
and you know the rest of theteams back home, and you know these
guys they're special. They get selectedto be here. And Tale last night,
I tell you what I mean.I've thrown in four Derby's, you

(29:37):
know, the Vlat Senior and seven, and then I threw the pool Holes
and Jock and then Tale last night. And you know all of them are
locked in. But I saw somethingin Tayl's eyes last night. Once we
got past the first round, Isaid, you know what, this guy's
gonna get it, and uh,he was ready for the moment. And
all all I kept looking at wasthat face of his and he was zoned
in, locked in, And uh, you know I always he used the

(30:00):
expression the bright lights, and whenthe bright lights came on last night,
he slowed the game down. Helet the ball come to him and all
he did was just does what hedoes best is pull that ball and hit
it out. The part. Howare you surprised? How quickly he assimilated
to the Dodgers' clubhouse. He seemslike like not one of, but the
most popular guy in the clubhouse already. Yeah, you know, not really.

(30:22):
We heard a lot of great things. You know. That's why Andrew
in our front office and you know, Brandon Gomes, they acquired this guy.
He's had presence, he's everyone inaround the league knows. This guy's
a great man, a great personoff the field. And we knew that
right handed bat in that lineup wasgoing to help us. And you know,
we talked a lot in spring trainingand I said, hey, listen,

(30:42):
just be tail. And you know, you go out there and you
play at outfield position either and leftor right, and our fans are gonna
they're going to love you. Andthat's what he's doing. He's playing baseball.
He's he's really calm and cool. He's a funny person. All the
guys love him, and it fitsso well in that clubhouse. You know,
there's a lot of expectation, nodoubt, around this year's Dodger team,

(31:03):
around every Dodger team, there's nodoubt about that. But at the
same time, no matter what seasonit is, there's going to be adversity.
Can you talk about balancing these thingsout as a coach and when you
talk to these guys, because thereseems to be a lot of adversity right
now, just with injuries and thingsof that nature. Yeah, yeah,

(31:25):
you're right, and it's you knowwhat, there's always like you said,
there's gonna be bumps in the road. But as coaches, we're the ones
that got to keep the steady face. We're the ones that's got to be
positive every single day. We believein our team. We know right now
we don't have a you know,a full man healthy roster, but you
know what, guys are getting otheropportunities to step up and help us win.

(31:45):
So as for myself and I knowour staff thinks the same way is
we go in every day, wegot the same look. And I remember
a long time ago, Tommy Lasordatold me, Dino, if you guys
lose ten in a row or youwin ten in a row, when you
walk into that clubhouse, the playershave to see the same look. And
that's exactly what I've never forgotten waswhen he said that you just got to

(32:07):
be the we're the leaders, andwhen we go out there and we're showing
panic in our face and the playersare going to see it, but we're
not. You know, Dave andour staff are great. We've been through
this before. So we're just goingto keep our heads up and we're going
to move through this and at theend, we're going to be where we
want to be. Uh, you'renot that old, but you know,
you've been in baseball a long time, I think long enough to maybe be

(32:30):
able to have an idea of whyit is what it is, or if
we're just kind of reacting in ourprisoners in the moment. It feels like
a lot of people get hurt inbaseball now, just from when I was
a kid and watching it, I'dnever remember. And it's not just the
Dodgers, it's every team. Whatdo you think it is? Do you
know, like, what do youthink it is that it's leading to so
many injuries in a in a noncontact sport. Yeah, you know,

(32:54):
that's the that's the million dollar question, because you know, every you know,
when we were playing in the olddays was uh, you know,
we didn't have what we have intoday's world. You know, younger kids,
all the kids are in travel ball, they're lifting weights, now sooner.
They're getting bigger, stronger, fasterat a real early age. And
you know what, I don't.I'm not smart enough to know this,

(33:15):
but I know, uh, youknow, when we get them at our
level, they're just big. They'rebig kids. And you know, I
have two sons, like everyone knows, and you know, Brady six four
and Trey six foot and they alreadyweigh one eighty and one one ninety and
they just they're always out there playing, but they they just do the agility
stuff and I control the weights. We don't. We don't lift heavy,

(33:36):
We don't do anything. Because I'mseeing it in baseball where these guys are.
You know, they're real big andmassive and you know they pull muscles
quicker. But you know what,we got guys in our organization they are
going to figure this out or throughthe baseball world that uh you know,
why are guys getting hurt so much? So they're throwing harder, like everybody
sees it. You know, they'reeverybody starting pitchers in ninety four to ninety

(33:59):
seven, guys coming out a bullpennerninety seven to one hundred plus. So
injuries are gonna happen. But yes, there are happening more than used to
be. You mean, squad andfour hundred plus pounds at fifteen isn't cool?
I mean it feels pretty cool. The great Ediwanda, Eagles, Brady
and Trey champions mentor in the baseballworld to all, and really the unselfishness

(34:23):
of Dino Eble and the way heserves and gives to the Dodge organization and
the West Coast baseball world every dayis really something. It's a marvel and
what great energy because the baseball season'sa grind. Thank you for joining us,
Dino. Enjoy your time in Texas. It's hot and we'll see when
you get back. All right, guys, always the pleasure of being on

(34:45):
and thank you the best, theabsolute best. T Oscar becomes the first
Dodger ever to win the home runDerby, does it in dramatic fashion.
One of the great home run derbyswe've seen in a long time comes down
to the final swing from Hobby WoodJunior and certainly could not happen to a
better guy throwing the pitches in there, who does VP every day. It's
kind of like their World Series, you know, It's like, Hey,

(35:07):
I'm a I'm a guy that throwsBP And now I'm going to the All
Star Game for home run Derby. This is my world series. It's like
when you play Colorado, you knowwhere everybody's super Bowl just because that's right.
And guess what, UCLA and Stanfordand all these teams won the Super
Bowl last year. Saw a lot. There's a lot of teams, a
lot of Super Bowl champs out there. They on the ring. If it

(35:29):
fits. We'll be back with moregreat sports talk, great stuff from Dino
Ebl, a fabulous man and mentoredthe people pretty awesome. Big thank you
to Dino Ebel. Special night forthe Dodgers by all accounts, Tao Hernandez,

(35:49):
one of the more popular players onthe squad, an opportunity to celebrate
with his family and for the firstat the All Star Game. Shoe Oltani.
Of course, we'll be out theretonight. Six Dodgers made the All
Star Team. They will not playagain until Friday, but we will have
David Vassay join us around four tothirty ish and he will have off night
Doctor Talk tonight from seven to eightpm four for Vassa four thirty. Man,

(36:13):
you're getting the Bachelorette report right tothe face. Oh, because I
had to go back on that andwatch it last night. That's right,
I forgot. We got the dudethat stole the car, and corrections and
retractions, well that I mean,I guess corrections and retractions. The Eble
Brothers transferred to Corona Panthers, sothey're not at a one to Eagles anymore.

(36:35):
I don't think had A Wanda tookit too well either, So sorry
about that. They're great baseball playersfrom a great baseball family. Ain't that
the truth? At a Wanda maybea little unhappy about it? What can
I say? I don't understand thoseinland politics, Matt. Oh, it's
a different kind of politic out there, right, politician, you transfer from
Redondo to Hawthorne. Okay, Igot my thumb on that, Corona understand

(37:00):
I'm like an unfrozen caveman. Sosorry about that. Thank you for texting
me about that. Great stuff withDino still to come. Mark Medina ba's
the ret Report Top story of theday. Here's some text do so.
The secret text us a fine broughtto you by your so called Toyota dealers.

(37:20):
We make it easy. Go ahead, keep laughing at Bronnie James p
When the King decrees Bronny be crownedRookie of the Year from the G League
while at Bronni's first All Star gameas a starter, you won't be laughing.
Then you like getting nailed by theking. No, we don't like
getting nailed by the king. Butwe can't stop getting nailed by the king.

(37:40):
That's the problem. That's where theproblem forcible. This is forcible hikoop
for Vic Bronni versus Magic, recklesscomments by the brick. You're suspended,
Vic Chah, well done, welldone, Picks though somewhere ten thousand jump

(38:04):
shots a day, your g damnarm would fall off, the bamboo wouldn't
bend hits a snap. I needten thousand hours, guys, ten thousand
shots a day? What is thisten thousand? It's big number. I
mean, people realize how big anumber ten thousand is? How many times
do you blink a day? Liketen thousand. Vic will never say anything

(38:30):
negative about any home team player. He makes excuses for all of them,
from Browny to Otani, but hewill always get a pass from me,
considering his a hole was removed andreplaced. No one should have to go
through that. I guess that's oneway to look at it. I don't
know. I'm still the Magic wasindefensible. I hear a vic Novic segment

(38:53):
coming on. I do it,but we're booked up today. Hi,
Dave Nibauer Ebel joined us a momentago. We got Mark Medina, who's
got in Vegas talking about Bronnie andthe summer League. It's time for un
to stretch us, to stretch ourlegs. Matt a little bit. Suspend
Vic. He stinks all the wayto Willis, Texas. I'm assuming that

(39:16):
came from Willis, Texas. Thisisn't all caps, Matt all caps,
Hey, Pete. Vic must besuspended unless he says the words. I
am sorry for comparing Bronnie to Magic. Say the damn words, Vic.

(39:37):
That is what we tried to do. We tried to get him to back
off his point, apologize, callit an egregious error, and then we
move forward. Hey, you gotheated in the moment. You were trying
to make a point that was ridiculous. I'm sorry. I don't mean to
say something. Sorry, I don'tmean that, but he refused. I
don't mean that. That's all youhave to say. And Matt. This

(40:00):
one hits at us. Oh,you can't market yourself as great sports talk.
And VIC goes unpunished for that nonsensegreat sports talk, he must be
suspended. We are the arbiters ofpunishment. I mean, I feel bad
because we got four hour shows. We're coming into the studio. We love

(40:23):
having VIC, but that that can'tgo unchecked. That can't go unchecked when
you tell your kid that's why I'mgonna take the phone if you don't get
off the goddamn TikTok, right, and then guess what, they're gonna stay
on the freaking TikTok. Nothing againstTikTok. It's a fine way to make

(40:44):
a living. I guess if you'reMatt Leiner really spitting out some bright lights
and brilliant folks. This says theKing wants the world to see his kid
getting his ass handed to him nightlyand then lie and pretend it's not happening.
You know, that's a good point. Like what how selfish of a

(41:07):
person do you have to be?Meg Lemonichael to want to be celebrated as
the first to have ever played withhis son in an NBA game at the
expense of your son, knowing whatgoes on in an NBA court, and
that he is nowhere and you're readyfor it. God said to Abraham,

(41:28):
give me a son. Abe saidto God, you must be putting me
on. God said no, Abesaid what God said, You can do
what you want, Abe. Butit is amazing, it really is.
It's one of the most unbelievable thingswe've ever witnessed. And worse than the

(41:50):
dad and son and the power andthe corruption that behind that is the media
for letting it happen and Washing Sacks. I can't take it. I can't
take it. And that's why Ipulled Vic down in that moment, because
I thought we should then immediately goto a vote, and we couldn't.

(42:12):
We didn't social media vote at Petrosand money on Twitter, just the four
of us, okay, and maybeeven Kate's I mean, because he can't
detach from the show. He's inSanta Barbara at the thrift shop listening with
a transition to radio or something.Should we suspend Vic Adham, Yeah,
Okay, I think that's offensive. He compared him to the only rookie to

(42:37):
win finals MVP and Irvin Magic Johnsona little odd right as a rookie.
Yeah, I mean I've been ana hole too. I superimposed Browny's head
over Lebron when he was wearing checkmy stats has a T shirt. I
mean, yeah, we've all doneit, but still VIC was not a
line. Oh Matt threw a Twittershot last night into the dark. The
people that don't get it are justmagical that it's the best lightweight. I

(43:02):
think you meant this guy's fifty yearsold. What's he told me? Are
you drunk? All right, Ronnie, it's going over a lot of heads.
You know. That was a prettyegregious comparison. So you're usually Ronnie
wolves and fish. I think thatVic needs a suspension until he comes to

(43:22):
his senses and apologize. That's exactlyright, right that say the words fake.
You have an opportunity to avoid suspension. We're going to bring your parents
in. We're going to sit downwith the counselor and the headmaster. We're
going to make sure you're on theright track. And if you are,
there's no suspension, it won't goin your record, all right. I

(43:45):
also demand an apology, yes unanimous, for you're suspended unless you apologize.
Unless he says the words, I'msorry for comparing Lebron James's son to Magic
John. Right, that's what weneed an official state. Be careful,
p you might get a phone calllater. I don't want to get a
did you say that? On air? He did? Now do we write

(44:08):
the script like listen, Petruss inmoney, I apologize for being so foolish
and ignorant in my suggestion. Idon't think this warrants a reprimand call from
Elliott Gould. You know, Igotta worry about Fox calling me and me
being in trouble. I gotta worryabout Don Martin calling me and me being

(44:28):
in trouble. And I gotta worryabout my wife calling me and me being
in trouble my wife. All ofit always happens while I'm at yoga.
Well, not to mention them,Jack Randas are spewing all over your stuff.
Yeah, they are blowing their seatevery him, taking their pleasure all
over my freaking Toyota. And Igot to display the Toyota at the summer

(44:49):
Tour event on Friday. Yeah,we haven't even shared the details for that.
There has been no schedule talk forFriday thus far. An hour into
the show show starts at three.Crazy look at this man. I just
wanted to say, I'm a bigfan of Los Fumidores, but they're no
match against LS jack Randas this timeof year. It's right. We stopped

(45:09):
before completion the mirandas they complete everything, I'm covered in sap. Every time
I go into my house, it'slike carry we're in our song. Bachelor
report Report suspension is now being forcedas of for three seconds on Tuesday tomorrow.

(45:38):
Vick's gonna have a chance to comeon and apologize immediately, like right
when we go on the air,Like when you talk in the court and
they say, what do you plead? You have to You can't just go
off and start talking, right,He's got to say the words. All
right, I'm glad we're on thesame page, all right,
