(01:56):
and we appreciate him. You gottago. I know he's trying to
get home, guys, Wow,got a baby at home. No one
can get out of here as fastas Fred just did. Like we don't
see Fred very often. Right, was here today? Yeah? Fred was

(02:16):
here today And it was almost likeseeing a ghost because Fred, now,
even though he said he was goingto do like a two week experiment in
the desert, he lives in thedesert now and does a show every day
in the desert, though not properly. Yeah, but it's not properly promoted
on the website of NBC Palm Springs. Matt, I think you and I

(02:38):
both doing a horrible job of updating. We've vetted that situation often, but
I don't. I mean I gotin here just before we started, just
to move as microphone or a filefolder or something, and Fred was already
like he was like it was twofifty and he was wiping down his iPad

(03:00):
and he was like, did hehit the jackpot today? Or no?
What's that mean? You know heplays that casino game out oh oh yeah,
or the Candy Crush or something likethat. I don't know about that.
I just he was very antsy toleave. So for friends in the
car, I hope you make yourappointment and he's going to the desert.
But well, he's going to thedesert. The question is is he have

(03:22):
like a five o'clock appointment at Sullivan'sor the Nest or something like that.
You know, everybody goes to bedpretty early out there, so I see
what you're saying. So we wantedto get dinner. It's three o'clock.
He needs to get to dinner byfive thirty. Play starts going off right
six fifteen. Kevin, you've seenhim. You've seen him pack up,
right, I mean, but thatwas pretty remarkable, Like he was,

(03:45):
he was gone. It's like ifFred was a house, all you would
see when you open the closet,it's just swinging hangers. I mean,
he was gone, but the cartooncharacter just a poof of smoking, right.
I mean, was that remarkable toyou? Or was that more?
Well? I mean he got outof here pretty fast, maybe yet somewhere
to go. You know, hedidn't share with you, though, he
didn't share. I mean, hedid come in and say goodbye, So
that was that was nice of him. Was he lighting a cigarette on the

(04:06):
way out until he got out?Yeah? Well, thank you, Kevin,
We're sorry. I think it wasa vayping technically, just pay it
three. A big thank you toKevin Figures and congratulations to the Figures family.
A safe drive home. You willnot be home in Redondo Beach before

(04:27):
Fred hits the desert. That ishow fast Fred left here, like a
streak of light. I've never seenanything like it. I thought, hey,
maybe I can catch up with Fred. I haven't seen him in like
two months. Right, No chance, I mean I think you figured it
out. He's on his way tothe nest. No chance. If you're
not there by five o'clock, you'renot going to get in. That place

(04:49):
is packed and the fire marshal isthere turning folks away at five. Yeah.
I mean, well, people leavetwo by two to have sex in
the parking lot, and then youcan get in when they leave. Right
there, you go that they haveto wait? Vic did did? Did
Fred share where he had to go? Did with you? He didn't tell
us? But no, it wasa bolt of desert lightning. Just apparently

(05:11):
Just is out for vacation for aweek. See, he wanted to get
it up a head start, aquick start. He's going on vacation.
Yes, oh look at this,I just says, there it is.
I just I just drove my friendon the sixty east. He's already in
Pomona. Essay, I'm a DonMartin plan. I think he's floating above

(05:31):
the H O. V Lane.Well, that explains it. Fred's going
on vacation. Maybe he's got ahaul ass to Lax, catch a flight,
get out of town. Oh,hotlines ringing there we here we go.
You think that's Fred? I'm sureit is. He's so thirsty.
Diither Fred? Or is he is? He's tomorrow? We got a launch

(05:53):
pad. Tomorrow we have two Dodgergames. Like you said, Matt coming
up? Yes, Fred? Whatis wrong with you? I didn't run
out? I have to do somethingat three twenty when I wanted to talk
to you. What you came in? You didn't say anything to me?
Well you were on the air.Well that doesn't matter. What when when

(06:13):
has that stopped anybody? I'm happyto talk. I don't know, friend,
I haven't seen you since ninety eight, you know, so for a
while. Yeah, No, Ihave to record something at three twenty.
I'm not going to the desert.I'm going back to Tulucal Lake to record
what. I have to record something. What did you record? Someone?
Yeah? What is it? Whatcould you record to Luca Lake that you

(06:36):
wouldn't record here? You're in aradio station. If you have something to
record, why would you record ithere? Why would you drive into Luca
Lake. Well, because it's videoand I have the equipment and to luc
Awake, is it for the RoganReport? That's what is it for?
To Night's Rogan Report? Maybe isit about you know about the raccoon problem

(06:59):
and Getthedral city. No, thatwas good though. No, I just
want to say the Rogan Report istaking the desert by storm. I know
I'll hear that you don't live hereanymore. You know, it's kind of
sad for those of us that usedto, you know, spend a lot
of time during the fall. Fred, I look around and I got no

(07:23):
friends left. What do you meanI do live here? What are you
talking about? I'm going to myhouse right now. Sure I do live
here Tros, but I have aplus out there too. But I live
here. Let me know if youcan get into your house and to look
a lake. If they didn't changethe locks. They took my key from

(07:46):
me. That's been overtaken. Thedoor now took. Yeah, there might
be squatters. There are squatters inthere equipment right now they're doing the taping.
Squatters rights. I saw mad andthat didn't say anything to me.
When did you see me? Isaw you stand under the hall. I
stared right at you. You didn'tspeak to me. I didn't see you

(08:07):
say something that's interesting. I waslike, I had my back turned you.
Why don't you say hello? Wait? You saw her? You saw
Matt today? Yesterday? No,yesterday. I saw Matt yesterday and he
was on his phone and he wassexing somebody. I didn't want to bother
him. Ah, You're never tobother Fred. It's an honor to talk
for the King of the Desert. The Rogan Report is taking it by storm.
The Dean of the Day. Iheard they're calling you the Dean of

(08:30):
the d Fred. Uh. Ijust got a text that says this Fred
is a desert snake. Now,No, I'm not a desert snake.
I'm not. I you know.I had this conversation with Don Martin yesterday.
We got out there. Yeah, all the time, and it's hot,

(08:50):
it really is. Did Don theDon asked you about the desert?
Uh? Yeah, you know, just talking about what I'm doing out there
and trying to create this format whichis actually working, which that's kind of
cool. I like it. Takingthe job, Yeah, that's what I
heard. My job is, youguys, I mean, my job is
a seventy. Why is the websitenot promoting the Rogan Report properly? When

(09:15):
we try to find new segments, all we can find is there's a raccoon
problem in cat City and that newsis six weeks old. Not if you
first. If you go to thewebsite, click on the Rogan Report icon.
But the truth of the matter is, the truth of the matter is
in the next two weeks they're launchinga whole new website. It's called Connecting
the Valley. It's not even goingto be NBC pump springy like that.

(09:39):
I like that. So the newwebsite's been under construction, and that's why
we've let the old website go toseed. I mean, yeah, well
now the old website. They knowthe old website. They used to maintain
it from like Argentina or something. It made no sense. So now that's
the station. We'll control the website. Why does many the Movie Guy have
a tab and the Rogan Report doesn't. The Rogan Report has a tab se

(10:05):
NBC Palm Springs Works twenty four toseven. Go to the website, click
on the Rogan Report icon. It'son the right side. We'll take you
to our show page. So whatare you of our content from tonight shows
up there? I got the drolledout. This is your opportunity to promote
yourself past the three o'clock hour. And we've opened the door for you,
and we appreciate you calling in freandbut you got to be fo final,

(10:26):
be fully transparent and tell us becauseyou left here in a hoff in a
hurry. Yeah, what are yourecording? What city is it about?
I want to know? Yeah, yes, you know. I love the
desert all right. So there isan organization out there. It's called Pegasus.
Pegasus allows disabled adults to ride horsesfor therapy. It's a really good

(10:52):
thing now people. It's been outthere for like forty years and people look
forward to it. There are anumber of people complaining that Vegas is no
longer providing the services they once providedand that they have basically let the whole
thing go to hell. Well, see, the truth of the matter is
Vegasus didn't let anything go to hell. They're simply moving and in this Transitional

(11:16):
Life website, they're making changes.So that's what I'm reporting. That's an
interesting tale on why many of themovie guys got a tab in the Rogan
Report. Doesn't. I don't seethat tab Fred type on the Rogan Report
dot com. All right, welllet's figure it out how that works.

(11:37):
I'm there right now. Okay.Well, well, thank you Fred.
That's a great explanation as to whyyou left in such a hurry. We
appreciate that. Well, I lovedyou guys. You know what, I
just wanted to call and say,I would never just walk out on you
guys. You've got a funny wayof showing it. Fred. Can I
ask one more question? Please askone more question? What is its?

(11:58):
Queer Works under investigation? Thank you? You are looking at the Rogan Report
website. What's Queer Works? Arethey under investigation? Yeah? They are.
It's a nonprofit organization that had beengiven money to basically implement this UH

(12:18):
income program to help the gay peopleg N L, g B t Q
right. And what happened was theguy that took the money UH is a
nonprofit basically paid himself and everybody, and they didn't give any money to anybody.
So that's what happened with that wasthe guy under investigation. Why are
you gay? Was the guy gay? The guy that took the money?

(12:41):
Was he gay? Was it gay? On? Gay crime. I don't
know if it's g ong crime.Well, you might want to get to
the I want to get to thebottom of that before you're reporting. Well,
that isn't really the story. Ifthe guy that it doesn't matter.
If the guy that took all thegay people for a ride financially is not

(13:01):
gay, maybe they should get agay guy to run Gay Works for gay
people's best interest. I think it'squeer Works P. It's all inclusive,
not just gay copy right. Well, now they have an organization called d
a P which has taken over theprogram and they will make good to those
who did not receive their funds toApril next year. And none of us,

(13:22):
with our header sexuality are eligible forany of those funds. You are
gay, you get you get nothing. You get nothing, kind of like
today with a greeting from my oldfriend and television partner, Fred Rogan,
I get nothing. Well that's that'swhy I called. Well, we appreciate
that, frand thank you for clearingit up. Have a great night,
and enjoyed a video to shoot insix minutes. Yeah, I enjoy the

(13:45):
Pegasus start. Yeah, I gottago do pegasus right now, all right,
face it a lot of people don'tknow that Pegasus has a huge horse
dog. That's why it's got wings. He can cover over the ground with
a dog. Wrong is unfurled. It's got to lift itself. It's like
the airplane wheel. All right,Thank you, Fred, Vic, sorry

(14:05):
about that. How are you, sir? I'm fabulous. I'm glad we
got clarity. Did you see portDeshaun Foster freeze up out there? Vic?
I did? And I have totalempty for the Shawn because you've frozen
up like that before, Vic,I have. I mean, that's a
rough moment for U. C.L A on the big stage. You

(14:26):
know, I had a very roughmoment. I told a story earlier,
and I'll repeat it because because maybewe don't like repeating content. Well,
I'll just tell you. I willtell you succinctly. I lost my train
of thought doing you know, standup comedy at Saint John's University and Jamaica

(14:52):
Queen's when I was that's not anunderstanding audience. They'll rip you apart.
I was ripped apart as I shouldhave been, because the stick was going
nowhere. I was doing a freeverse Willis Willis Reid uh stuff along with

(15:13):
Kazzie Russell's stuff. Dick Barnett. You know, I was basically surprising that
didn't It didn't. It really was. I had no rhythm to it.
Yeah, I had great elements, but I didn't know what to do with
it. Knowing a language, youknew the words, but not how to
connect them together exactly. I hadthe raw material to do a really good

(15:39):
set, but I really blew itbecause I had no I had no unity,
no flow, and so I wasDo you feel like you were better
received than the Shan Foster was todayor worse? No? No, I
had a much worse reception. Okay, the audience was a happy hour.

(16:03):
Well, you should call DeShawn becausehe's probably gonna have a long ride home
feeling that great about his speech.I'm sure you guys don't know too much
about UCLA but our football program. But we're in LA. He's three am.
I'm in Oakbrook. You might youmight need to give this guy call.
They can tell him about your nightin Queens. Because this guy we

(16:27):
love, Deshon Foster, and we'vetried to I mean, he's not exactly
the most exciting interview we've ever done, but I didn't think he was gonna
go Rosie the robot up there andjust fully malfunction and it's unfortunate. Well
to deflect off of DeShawn to SaintJohn's crowd was throwing fruit at me on

(16:49):
stage. Well luckily that's that's notpart of the norm at media days.
Like they were served food in there, Like instead of ingesting this food,
I'd rather throw it at this guy'sface. Yeah. You always wonder where
people get those vegetables from, youknow in the movies when they start hurling
stuff at the cromatos, Did theybring it with them? Yeah, I

(17:10):
guess they would. I think therewas a I think there was a food
bar, and of course there waslike a salad bar like a buffet,
like a salad ball, and youknow, and the beer was flowing.
It was a happy hour and Iwas on stage just you know, doing
my thing, and I could seethat again, be honest, it got
ugly, you know. I wentinto I went into a moment where I

(17:33):
just had no had no flow.I think it was between Dick Barnett and
Cassie Russell somewhere, and it feltawkward. It was totally cringe worthy,
cringe worthy. Wow. And thecrowd reacted. I understand, you know,
it was a horrific moment for myself. Did you start to keep me

(17:56):
up that night like thinking about howyou've humiliated yourself? Like, when did
you get over it? I gotover it? Maybe after my next really
good gig. Got it? Youhad to get back on the horse.
How to get back on how torewrite? You know, do hours and
hours in front of that mirror, you know, keep repeating, keep rehearsing,

(18:19):
and you'll get it. And Ilearned you just can't go You just
can't have a good base in yourmind thinking you can go out there and
just you know, bob and justrisk. You got to have a plan
out there. Vic. You needa plan, You need a verbal plan.
You need a mental plan. Andjust for any public speaking, it

(18:41):
doesn't have to be a stand upcomedy, it can be any any sort
of public speaking. You must havea mental plan and a verbal plan before
you hit the stage. And onceyou do, once you feel that confidence,
it will be oozing through well. And I look, I long have
said for me years that you don'thave to be media savvy at all,

(19:03):
or you could be terrible with themedia and still really be able to communicate
with recruit, inspire and move afootball team from a coordinator or even an
individual position coach or a head coacheven but today's head coach has got to
be so dynamic as far as moneyraising on and off the field, all

(19:26):
these different things you have to do, the pr part of it, the
media part of it, the hooplahof the Big Ten media day. Somebody's
got to help the Shawn out withthe media training because now people are going
to be really paying attention to thisquestions. I just wish it didn't go
so poorly. Matt. Well,as you know, pe onto the next

(19:48):
play, right, It'll leave thatlast play it's over. Well, let's
got like a four hour flight home. You think about it, nothing you
do about it, nobody's nobody's probablytomorrow. Yes, Shan is going to
have hundreds and hundreds of public appearancesin the next few years representing U C

(20:11):
l A and the Big Ten,and he's going to get better and better
and better. He's just going toget get some Uh. It was an
unmitigated disas. You'd have to admitthat it was a rough day. It
was a rough day at the mic. There's no doubt? Was your Hey,

(20:33):
Vic, was your stand up brackthat kind of like your haikus where
it was just sort of train ofthought. It's kind of rolling with it
seeing where it went as opposed toyour routine that you put together and worked
on. And I'm gonna deliver thisline and get a laugh. I might
be able to answer that. Didn'the show up on like a stack of
paper with like two words scrawled acrosseach page paper? Yeah? Vic?

(20:55):
Will you stop doing that shot?Sure? I was supposed to like an
actual comedy. Would you say itwas more about there's no doubt? Yeah?
Is that Tim? I've known youtwenty five years, Vic, and
I never knew you didn't stand upcomedy. It was a very raw act
him. Did you know that hechased Puerto Ricans across That was also news

(21:17):
to me yesterday yesterday as well.Yeah, I'm coming up with a lot
of we love it epiphanies with youguys, just like personal realizations and insights.
Yeah, did you use a jokelike a rabbi, a priest and
somebody walk into a bar kind ofthing? Or No, that's racist.
I got a rabbi, a priestand somebody is race. And that's that's

(21:40):
a great Kim right now. That'sa great tip for any public speaker.
Have some jokes in the back pocket, have some go to what's your go
to joke? What's your go tojoke? I never had one. That
was my problem? You know whatmine is? Where's that? We're in
l A, justin usc in LA. I'm sure you guys don't know too

(22:06):
much about UCLA but our football program. But we're in LA. It's always
good to have some some backup materialat your disposal. Well you had the
geography right there, sure, oryou could just engage the audience man questions.
Yeah, how was that about?Mind? Well, thank you,

(22:34):
Vick. We got a lot toget to. Matt was here, you
guys, total empathy for the Shawn. God bless him. He can only
go he can only do better fromhere. In his media appearances, Matt
Mundy Smith was at Chargers Commons inEl Segundo today for the first practice.

(22:56):
I was present for a birth theBolt Jim Harbaugh's very first day if training
camp as the head coach of theChargers. Tim went down to close to
Mason to see the Raiders and wasadmitted as part of the Raiders broadcast team.
I'm the commissioner. I got tocall good Ill, this is not

(23:18):
okay, can't allow this to happen. Well, we'll talk training camp and
Raiders Chargers rivalry. You're gonna haveto pick sides here in LA this year.
Not okay. On the Petroson MoneyShow on AM fi seventy LA Sports,
Sweet James, the dense Beard ofJustice is a guy that knows exactly.
Thanks for listening, everybody. It'sPetrosen Money on AM five seventy LA

(23:41):
Sports. On this we just won'tbe defeated. Wednesday. We got a
great show coming up, and it'san earlier show anyway, So get there
early and we're gonna have a heckof a time. You could also podcast
our show on the iHeartRadio app orstream it live there, or enjoy it
on any other podcast platform. Abig thank you to Fred Rogan for calling

(24:03):
in and acting stupid and Vic forgoing down memory lane again. Little did
we know about a botch stand upcareer early in Vick's life in New York.
But right now it's time for thetop story of the day. Top
Story of the day. Well,it's the opening day for training camps around
the NFL. Couple started a coupleof days earlier, but the Rams,

(24:26):
the Chargers, the Raiders down atCosta Mesa's Jack Hammett, the Saints at
UC Irvine, and the Cowboys outthere and Oxnard all in action. LA
is the center. Oh you belongto me? Pro football, the epicenter.
Who would have thunk the epicenter ofthe NFL kickoff to the twenty twenty

(24:47):
four season. The campaign is righthere in our great city. Well,
it's hot outside, but compared toeverywhere else for camp, you know,
LA has got a pretty good climatefor football camp, and it makes it
so you can keep a more normalschedule during the day as opposed to practicing
early in the morning or late atnight or in a bubble. People want

(25:07):
to be outside, so LA work. But I'm glad you said that,
Pete, because it was something thatis interesting about practice. This year covered
the Chargers' training camps for seven years. This is year eight now, and
it is the first time that thereis not a set start time. Instead
the way that coach Harbaugh is runninghis training camp. And I don't know

(25:29):
if this will hold for practice aswell, but it is in order to
get his players the maximum rest possiblewhile still practicing every day, he staggers
it. So today they started practiceat nine am, they ended at ten
thirty. Tomorrow they will start atnoon and at one forty five. Friday,
they will start at three, endat five pm. Saturday, will

(25:51):
start at five and at seven pmoff day Sunday, and then they start
the cycle over again. So they'regetting over twenty four hours of rest for
their bodies in the hopes. Andthis is something that people that follow the
Chargers can certainly attest to that thiswill cease to be the most injury bug
bitten team and all of the NFL. Kind of a novel approach. Yeah,

(26:18):
it's an interesting way to do things. I mean, I remember when
Chip Kelly started practicing in the morning. You know, at the college football
level, a lot of people werelike, whoa well it was and a
lot of people do it now.Yeah, what happened. It's a herculean
effort to get everything moved class wise, you know, get everybody's schedule changed
for years and years to come, and it takes more than one spring to

(26:41):
really actually pull that off. So, I mean, the pro level is
a lot different you don't have tohave classes trying worry about but time to
work. It's always uh, it'salways interesting how people try to manipulate this
stuff. And in LA you cando whatever you want. Weather it's not
an issue. Another places it is. Now we'll see because as you know,

(27:02):
I don't know how I mean,you know, it's pretty protected.
Those fields are. There's pretty tallfences, giant building that is kind of
between the fields, and the boltis between the fields and where the wind
should be coming from off the ocean. So I don't know if they're going
to be out there at three pmor five pm and the wind is going
to be whipping and they like theyhave to worry about it. Elsee,
Gondo's not really the wind. It'sthe sewery water that spills all over the

(27:26):
plant there, the water treatment plantthere by Dockweiler. Well, hopefully that
keeps pretty gross. They can holdthat at bay pulling up the facility for
the first day, fans thousands ofthem. I'd probably I thought it was
going to be capped at like fifteenhundred. But we do a pretty good
job of judging crowds because you nowwe're constantly pulling in thousands, that's no
doubt about that. I'd probably pegit somewhere around three thousand. I was

(27:51):
able to talk to the Diehard BoltClub people that's kind of their super fan
group, and they said they showedup at seven forty five pm last night,
spent the night waiting to get inprime position for the first day of
camp. I hope they got whateverit was that they desired and they camped
out for don't know if I wouldsuggest that, well, there's a lot,

(28:11):
you know, it's not like campingout, you know, a Joshua
Tree. There's a lot there. The Offset Coffee, my favorite coffee place
is right there. You got theHamburger habit, the In and Out.
There's a lot there right on Supulvido, Yeah, Raytheon. I mean,
well, yeah, if you wantto build at a lot there, yeah,
in the top golf. I mean, it's a real corridor. Matt,

(28:33):
it didn't used to be Hardboss.Message to the team and to the
public as it was shared on socialmedia channels was inspiring and also funny.
I was chatting with our friend alBreer, Albert Breer, who runs a
Monday morning quarterback now who happens tobe in Ohio State alumnus, and we
had a laugh at Jim's message notonly being inspiring for all of his players

(28:53):
and all of the fans, butalso a not even veiled a wreck shot
at his old rival Ryan Day.He must really not like Ryan Day.
It is hilarious. He is aMichigan man through and through. And for
those who may not have seen itif you don't follow the Chargers on social
media, they actually got Coach tonarrate his letter that he posted at the

(29:18):
front of the facility welcoming the players. Welcome to the twenty twenty four Chargers
locker room, your football home.We want to compliment all who have earned
the opportunity to get here, torecognize the journey trap to now be playing

(29:40):
at the highest level of football. You done here. We're born on third
and eight. Could rather have towork their way to first and then second,
then third. Forget man, forgetit, to get it against up
the man. Congratulations and taking yourlife circumstances and turning them into science by

(30:03):
your talent and effort, it willbe known. We predict those who produce
will stay, and we predict thosewho stay will be champions. Piece of
advice if I may treat others asyou would want to be treated, any

(30:30):
respect you give to be returned. And then so that was real. That
was real right there, That wasreal football. We are all now on
third base together, poised to bringit home. Sincerely, Jim Harbaugh.

(30:53):
Yeah, you may or may notknow. He took a shot at Ryan
Day, the head coach at OhioState, suggesting that he was born on
third base. Thinks he hit atriple because he inherited that program from Urban
Meyer. It's already built that program, just like Stoops built that program for
Lincoln, exactly right, and hecontinues to do and there's really nothing Ryan

(31:15):
Day can do about it. Well, in the NFL, you can only
say things at Big ten media day. Well, some people do say things
at Big ten media days, somepeople don't. But certainly funny that coach
Jim for Um, which is stillhis Twitter feed, uh, still making
sure that he keeps those digs going, and the Michigan Faithful tuned in to

(31:36):
everything that he's doing out here inLA. What was different? Not a
lot that I saw. You know, Camp is camp. First day is
full of hope. Expectations are attheir highest this year is going to be
different. Now you'll see Herbin, you know Herbert as an ad of coach.
Like this, the Chargers will finallyhave a running game, something that
hasn't been the case since they arrived. Sure, you know, I mean,
look, Austin Eckler led the leaguein touchdowns for you know, back

(31:57):
to back seasons. But you knowthey couldn't run the ball, and they
had to run the ball to wingames, and that's how you end up
going zero in seven in one scoregames last year and getting to Washington,
DC too. Exactly. So takeaways, my realistic takeaways, they would be
this. Herbert finished up practice, did a solid twenty minutes of autographs and

(32:21):
picks with the fans. He thenhad to do a little bit of corporate
grin and grip, then had todo a little bit of media, and
probably forty minutes after practice was over, here he comes walking out of the
facility and there's Ben Herbert, directorof Player Performance, waiting for him.
And as you like to say,pe solo bolo. Every other player had
already gone through it in position groups, and Herbert by himself is going through

(32:45):
the fourth quarter ot period, flippingsleds, walking with the ball bear crawls
on his fingertips and toes, pushups, chest lifts for a solid twenty minutes
in the rotation chess. Then youknow what I mean, like when you
do the uh, I guess youwould call him like Superman's I love a
chess left dude, exactly when you'relifting your chest, your stomach down on

(33:07):
the ground and you got to liftyour chest up and hold it there for
a while chess, probably solid twentyminutes. And that is certainly something that
I was not used to seeing. We've been out there. Typically when practice
is over, you do the autographsand stuff and you're done and that's it.
Thank you for accommodating the media anddoing the presser and hanging out with
the people that write the big checksand all that sort of stuff. But

(33:28):
he went back out there the runningback room looks great. Gus Edwards is
a mammoth human being. I don'tthink he's as big as Derrick Henry,
but he is certainly the biggest backthat I've ever seen in a charge.
He's I would guess six's one.I would think probably six one two thirty
five ish would be my guess.I mean, JK Dobbins is a smaller
back certainly, but Isaiah Spiller's prettybig dude, and Gus certainly looked a

(33:52):
lot bigger than him, So thatwas something that was a lot different looking.
I know Anthony Lynn constantly was tryingto find that big back just was
not quite working out with Melvin Gordonand could never quite find him. So
maybe they have finally found that thatpower back that you know, win the
game with physicality kind of. Guysgot to stay healthy. Missed all of
OTAs, but both of them,JK. Dobbins coming off that Achilles injury

(34:15):
and Gus Edwards who did not participatebecause of an injury, and OTAs in
mini camp were out there with norestrictions. And that's probably going to be
something that's got to be right inorder for this team to do well,
that offensive line and that running game, because according to JK. Dobbins and
all the backs and the old lineis yeah, this is this is just
like Baltimore. This feels like whatthey do out there. Greg Roman's not

(34:37):
really changed up a whole lot, which leads you to think this is a
team that might lead the league andcarries and they want to run the ball
and they want to play football thatway, even with Justin Herbert a quarterback.
You know, Kate's went to Raiderscamp today. What happened out there,
I don't know. It was awesomethanks to Seanyl. I took me

(34:58):
an hour forty five minutes to getthere from Burbank to Coasta Mason, but
once I got there, it wasglorious. It is all rated out.
Gone are the Chargers signs colors? And now it's all sober and black?
Are you trying to make the SeanFoster feel better? Right now? Five
practice fields media tent five hundred plusfans in attendance capped out at that number

(35:23):
because of restrictions. That's too highrestrictions. You have to be on a
guest. Do you have a catmatt? According to a few people here,
it's there. It's a fifteen hundredcap for the Chargers right now.
Oh, there are at least threethoughts there. Said hello to our good
friend Eric Allen, who should bein the Hall of Fame. EA listens

(35:45):
to the show here, Petro somebody'sshow all the time. Says to say
hello, and everybody okay for himto be there. By the way,
Eric Allen, you can't be there. They do the retinal scan with his
crazy eyes. Talking to some beatwriters, people that cover the team for
other sorts of media out it's harderthere. Yeah, Zig what's the name

(36:08):
victafor? Yeah, he was there. Uh, Paul Gutierrez was there as
well. I saw Bennie Bons inyour In the last forty eight hours since
that ESPN report came out about theRaiders the restrictions in southern California, apparently
the NFL has eased up on someof the restrictions that they were facing,

(36:30):
including local media not giving credentials atall. There was local media who covered
the NFL right about the NFL andbroadcast and we're not giving credentials until today
when they asked for him. Sorestrictions have been lifted. People are now
able to go out to Raiders training. Cannot fans, they're not allowed.
I don't know. I saw alot of and there was people outside that

(36:54):
couldn't get in, that were tryingto get in, Like you guys had
talked about, maybe at least they'rejust ripping off the right, like you
guys have to play each other inweek one, Yeah, Week one,
right, right, it's so far, it's exactly right. Uh, our
boy A and O'Connell changed numbers. Now we're at number twelve. Still got
that mustache, Still got the mustache. He's a lot skinnier than you I

(37:16):
thought. You know, you seehim on TV kind of that's, you
know, skinny fat guy face. But he's not really fat. He's just
skinny. I don't know why helooks that way. Interesting. Devonte Adams
has got a lot of a lotof cheers. They love Davonta Adams and
Max Crosby played up to the crowd. Fans that were there today really got

(37:37):
him going throughout the practice in allthe sessions, especially the eleven on eleven
sessions. So there you go.Had a great day out there, said
all of my folks in the mediarelations department, Will Jade Cam all of
them. Was that Lincoln out there? Hey? Link Link was not out
there, but they were doing stufffor Raiders podcasts and Raiders dot com.

(37:57):
Were there any Charger luminaries at itother than yourself? Off the balls of
the balls, a former Charger luminarynow Raider general manager Tom to Lasco.
Tom came over to say a toHie to a parent and a young man
who went to I guess High schoolwith his daughter at modern day years ago,
and they were friends and so hewas like ten feet away. He
spun around and was about to leave. I said Hey Tom, and he

(38:19):
waved and said Hey Tim, andI said Hey Tom. And we talked
for like two minutes, and Isaid, I know you're busy. I
just wanted to say hello. Andthe TT boys we're just hanging out to
the TV boys, just kind ofhanging out, chopping about that the old
days. You know about petrol, some money show coming out to do training
camp and memory T boys going tomister Pickle for a sandwich. He said.
He said, are the guys comingdown to do a remote from Raiders

(38:39):
training camp? And I said, appreciate the invite. I will ask the
guys. I'll see what we canmake that happen. Well, not the
voice of the Baalts, but halfway, I'm local media. If they want,
I'll go out of Jack Hammond.I have every other year, So
good time. Did you see anycool charger types Matt, like Lindsey Theory
or somebody just the yeah, obviouslyall the beat writers, well, well

(39:01):
actually all the national media. Wasit Chargers or all the national Actually they
didn't see you. They didn't gosee you. Yeah, i'd Steve Wise
from the NFL network there. Well, no, no, I'm saying like
Sam Farmer, Bill Plashki, likeall of the national writers from the Times
were there. Matt did Plaski havehis hat on? He did, thankful.

(39:23):
Plashki had his uh Panama hat andhis black panama or his black kind
of Panama jack style shirt on.Farmer was doing a piece with Fred maz
who helped build the bolt, wasthe man behind the whole thing, and
I was like, Wow, Farmerhadn't been in a Chargers training camp,
right, just in seven years. It's a novel concept, and we don't

(39:45):
know you here. Farmer. Yeah, welcome to the party. A little
bit late, Farmer pal so yeah. Bill said to say hello to everybody,
just like Tommy t said to sayI had everybody. But it was
quite the to do. And EricAllen Matt even though you want him,
kicked out to practice. Oh sawmy friend, our friend Lorenz O'Neil came
down from Fresno for the opening ofcamp, so it was good to see

(40:06):
him. Still all musty. It'slike you could probably take on anybody on
the field. And yeah, trainingcamp is underway. Oh isn't it great.
They're gonna put pads on at somepoint. There'll be some preseason games.
Yeah, they wear their uniforms. The Chargers wear their full gaming I
think we talked about this already.Harbaugh has them wear their uniform because and

(40:29):
the players even said, yeah,it actually makes sense. He said they
feel different. It's different being ina uniform than in shorts and a dry
fit. So you got to getused to moving around and press the ball
against that uniform when you're running back, and feel what it's like against the
uniform as opposed to T shirt andshorts. Except for Khalil Mack, he
was in sweatpants, and I heardthat Harbaugh told everyone, well, if

(40:50):
you collect one hundred sacks in yourcareer, then you can wear sweatpants still,
all right, he likes to feelthe football on sweatpants. That's right.
I like to feel that. Yes, Okay, we'll be back with
some reaction. Petrson Money Show onM five seventy LA Sports your home of
training Camp's first day, hopes anddreams. I throw some money AM five

(41:15):
seventy LA Sports Live Everywhere on theiHeart Radio app going until six pm.
Dodgers Baseball at seven and night tomorrow. It is the debut in twenty twenty
four of Clayton Kershaw. So aone ten start Kershaw on the Mound.
It's glass now back tonight after theback issue had him skip a start out
of the All Star break. SoTim Kates will have the Dodgers on Beck.

(41:39):
David gonna say join us, yesnow, no, all right,
all right, Matt. We gotsome textosos for the people to react to
what's been going on. We hadsome real chopped it up with Vic and
Fred and the training camp tension betweenthe Raiders and the Chargers. Clear he

(42:00):
marked here on the show a finebrought to you by your so called Toyota
dealers. We make it easy.Come on money. The biggest running back
you've ever seen talks to you everyday. He is pushing three bills two
thirty five. I thought he wasa d tackle. I'm six one two
thirty five right now. Deshaun Foster'sproblem was that he didn't give them enough

(42:30):
information after he said UCLA was inLA. He should have also let him
know that it was a university inCalifornia. Ooh, great call. That
would have helped. Right, weare part of the UC system. We
are in La rob They were USC. So's the USC's right over there.

(42:52):
We're at over there. The lastthing I want to hear on the opening
to the Petrosen Money Show is aboutFred getting paid. Did Fred mention?
Did he? Oh? Well, did he say that? This is a
quote from vic I was doing freeverse Willis Reid's stuff. Yeah, that's

(43:14):
incredible that we just glossed over that, but that that really was. I
mean, you can visualize it,right, I can see exactly how this
goes. He just gets up thereand it's stream of consciousness. And if
you were like, what the hellis this? If it's already charge your
pulse smoking time in the middle ofsummer and on big media day, big

(43:37):
ten media day, no less,I'm gonna take my pants off and run
around Imperial Highway. If this doesn'tstop, well we'll watch it on TV,
sir. But there's gonna be somepulse smoking. You know, Oh,
smoke all a pole. You hada poll, come yet it smokes.
Did the hour forty five minute driveto Raiders Camp inflame Kim's taint Tim

(44:02):
a little bit. Well, Ithink it's important to recognize, like we're
we are used to nightmare Los Angelescommutes. So even though I went twenty
one miles and it took an hourand ten minutes, oh my gosh.
Whatever. Kate's lives a mile fromthe station. He's lived in Burbank his
entire freaking life save two years. But he had to drive the entire like

(44:27):
almost across all of La County andthen into Orange County, right, Like,
that is not something he is usedto rarely in the car, and
it made it worse. Yeah, that will bake your cake. If your
cakes, it'll bake it. Iwas gonna buy donuts for the other people
in the media. I'm like, hey, guys, you were going to
bring sidecar, right, I hadit all planned out. I was gonna

(44:47):
get there early, get some sidecardonuts, bring him there for the media,
all the Beat riders, and Icouldn't because of the stinking accident on
the six o' fo shows off fabeverybody you know, there is a traffic
issue today driving up. I hadto just take Vermont all the way from

(45:10):
downtown area because eight no I gotoff before that. But I would buy
seventy eighth on the one to tenthere, Matt, But but I had
to take Vermont all the way up, and I was happy to see that
the Family Arcade is still there onVermont, deep into the city toward Hollywood.

(45:34):
Nice. And it was good tosee that that is still intact as
a place. And Koreatown is stillteeming with Koreans, I'm happy to report.
But yeah, a lot of trafficissues today. Yeah, sorry about
that, Kim Taints. I meantwenty miles took him an hour and twenty
minutes. Yeah, I did droptwo. This is an f and nightmare.

(45:55):
This is an f and nightmare. Here's a question. Are you guys
gonna have Tellasco on or see I'mthe old pile of trash like the Chevy
Silverado. Oh hey, don't don'tsay that about Tom Telesco. Tlasco's coming
on right. He's a friend ofthe show. We'd love to have We
love Tom. It's just unfortunate wherehe's employed. He said to say,

(46:16):
Hi, I would never call anybody'semployment unfortunate. You could have said on
that salary for a year, Tom, really, Well, we'll be back
with more great sports talk, whichwants to be a part of the Raiders
to beat the Chargers again. That'sall he wants to do. Week one.
Can't wait for this. This issome great eight ball energy all season
