They are on your home of the.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
LA Dodgers in sync and down the Green Petrosin Money, Trosen.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Money, tros In Money ros.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
I.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
People leave traces of themselves where they feel most comfortable,
most worthwhile.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Going it out. Vic Petrosen Money Am five to seven
LA Sports Live Everywhere on the iHeartRadio App. Hour two
started at three. We got an hour in the books.
David Veasse already joined us. He's doing an Instagram live.
He talked to Michael Kopek. He's talking can do Tommy Edmund.
Those two guys acquired yesterday from the White Sox and

(01:05):
Cardinals respectively. Today they acquired Jack Flaherty Hi have Flarity.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
And that means, as Eric Sondheimer, the Great La Times
Rider pointed out on X, that means the Dodgers will
have Tyler Glass now from Hart High and Jack Flaherty
from Harvard Westlake at a burbank on their starting rotation,
which is pretty amazing, pretty cool for you Southern California

(01:33):
high school types like Eric Sondheimer. And this might be
a salve and the wound, this flarity trade for Dodger
fans that expected them to bring in an impactful arm
this trade deadline. I don't know what you're gonna say,
where you're gonna go when they did exactly that.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
You made your demands and they delivered. You made your
demands and they delivered.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Delivery was prompt, not really. Actually it took till the
very end of the deadline and then it happened. Yeah,
first pitch is at six forty tonight. Tim Kate starts
at five point thirty. But because of Matt money Smith
schedule manipulation sixteen chapel like touching of the schedule, we

(02:19):
are on only for two and a half hours today.
So a big thank you to Ben Maller and Jonas
Knox and Kevin Figures and Ronnie for doing the hour
that they're scheduled to do anyway normally kind.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Of exactly right.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
You're welcome.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Why am I I didn't thank you that was.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
That was almost like, you know, Fred Rogan had a
long time, long time dispute with Stun Nahan, the very
famous old reporter for NBC just like Fred really and
Nahan was in the Rocky movies called a lot of
the Rocky Fights, and we all know Skipper Stu in

(03:01):
la if you've been around for a while. But Fred
and Stu had a terrible, terrible falling out and then
Stu gave Fred or it presented Fred an award at
the Jewish Sportscaster's Association Award or something, some kind of
lifetime Achievement award, and up on the stage Stu said

(03:22):
to Fred, all is forgiven, and Fred said, there's nothing
to forgive. I didn't do anything. And then they started going.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Back and forth and that was the end of the trip.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
That was the end. The truce was off, and it
was a terrible moment. And yesterday, I feel like that's
the closest we got to that moment on air yesterday
when we were talking about the schedule manipulation and Kevin
Figures dropped to you're welcome and then stormed out of
the room and there was a moment there and then

(03:59):
Vic started starring and we almost lost the show. For
a moment, Matt, we almost lost the show. Wow, No,
shirk of the wheel.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Didn't appreciate the you're welcome. You know, I know it. Hey,
you're welcome, You're you're on.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
I saw the look on your face. It's like you
saw ghost, like.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
I saw a ghost. It's like, wait a minute. You're
on the air until three o'clock. You're supposed to go
on twelve to three, because we routinely do three and
a half hours on a day that you do two
when the Dodgers start games at six point thirty. Not
all of a sudden, mean when I got to go
out to the bolt from twelve to two, that somehow
you're doing me a favor working my ass off over here.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Don't get mad. I hear you slapping things around over there.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Well, no, I'm trying to I'm working on the number
of the day here. Oh, we got to put some
stuff together.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
It's a radio show, Matt. You know it's good.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
I know it involves a tape measure, So I'm trying
to get the tape to work here for the four
stop the twenty twenty four Petros money shut jump over here,
all right, is Friday.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
That show's really going off. I mean they started measuring
his bootso on the air.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
No, I'm going bottom side, I don't care, no top
Matt to going bottom.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
We've moved locations. We're not gonna be in uh West
Covina or Covina. We only go to West Covina now
for reacc and Anaheim. That's what we're gonna be, the
best of the best. We are gonna do a camping theme.
That's why Matt is measured his bootso right.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Now, I want to see how many marshmallows I can
put on it.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Pretty a da fla. We're gonna do some'mores on Matt's
shish kebab boots. We've got prizes like a fifty inch
Westinghouse HDTV, Dodgers tickets, tickets to see the Terrence Crawford
fight at Bemo with Eminem. He's not fighting Eminem. Eminem's

(06:01):
performing vacation to MGM Resorts. It's gonna be a hell
of a time, hell of a time, all right, Matt,
It is time for the word of.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
The day, his words, the word of the day.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Today's word of the day is anticipation. There was thought
that Matt was going to do the radio show today
from my office or the rub and tub bunker as
has been called on the show, or basically the basement
in my house, under my bedroom. Had you been in

(06:39):
the basement last Saturday night, you'd have seen the cascading
vomit from the balcony above it. A whole large pizza
just projectile vomited off the deck Saturday night, as was
documented yesterday. But I thought Matt was coming here to
do the show because he was a charger camp earlier today,

(07:01):
hence the schedule manipulation, and we were both going to
do like Two Girls, One Cup. We were both going
to do the show off of t Yeah off my
comras here, and in anticipation, I cleared my computer history,
I cleaned the bong. I prepped for the voice of

(07:23):
the Bolts by cleaning Travis McGee's cage, gave her a bath,
cleaned some dead skin off the lizard hose down the area.
I took out the papers and the trash. I moved
a carpet into the side yard so it wouldn't be seen.

(07:46):
And I was preparing to prepare my wife for the ordeal,
only to be told that Matt was driving straight to
Seal Beach. Sorry, no, it's all right, but I mean
there was a lot of anticipation. Tim Kates was on
the phone and he was like, gosh, I really hope
that comes to your place. That'll be pretty funny. And

(08:10):
I was like, well, I better get things in shape.
You know, I don't want to be judged. You know,
I don't want Matt to come home and be like God, that.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Basement is filthy, disgusting.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
I was disgusted.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
I felt like I was adorn like Squalor.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
He I walked in, he was scraping a resin.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
B hey Man season just in time.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Uh so, uh we almost had because Matt has never
been to my home before. So we almost had a
moment here in the rub and tub. And who knows.
You know, this football season, with the Chargers being.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
So close, very well could be again.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Yeah, so uh take out the papers in the trash
or you won't get no spending cash.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
I could cut. Well, I can't come by tomorrow, that's right.
I gotta doing the show from the bolt tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Yeah, ye are all right? All right?

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Measurements number of the days, all right, So here's we
got three tanks so far? I can get a fifteen
piece round boy scout patch iron on set. Should we
score some of these for the people. It looks like

(09:26):
it's got nodding stretching. You can do your launch like
laundering climbing first aid.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
What are they iron on badges?

Speaker 3 (09:39):
These are the badges? Yeah, that like you would get
when you were in Scouts camp. Iron ten eight bucks
for fifteen Yeah, let's do it all right, but we're
not paying for it. Yeah, I'm gonna make wease pass.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
All yeah, for all the tanks.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
All this the tanks. Now here's the number of the day.
Pee is How BIG's that? Melanie my head? Yeah? Because
I can only find one. It's called a garrison cap.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
I wear the MLB caps comfortably. I like a seven
and five eighths. Okay, I think the force is too big.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Would seven and three eights be too small?

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Okay, because that's all they got for the garrison.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
It looked like yacon, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Seven and three eight's gonna be a little too small.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
We might have we could take the scissors to it,
like these women's volleyball players for their ponytail.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
Srim it up. Well, you know what, here we go.
I found another one. Here is an art. Now, this
is not a Scout garrison cap. This is an Army
garrison cap. And I want to be honest, it doesn't
so much look like the the Scout master cap that
we think of with the when we think of the
old timey boy scout caps, but instead something from one

(10:56):
of them dudes with a Kirby sword and Temple of Doom.
Oh so if we want, we can roll on this.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Like a turban.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
It's yeah, it doesn't quite look as much like a
turban and it's a little bit more like a Like
I said, it reminds me of what the dudes were
wearing in Temple of Doom when that guy was was
peeling a heart that was still beating out of a
dude's chest who somehow was still alive when his heart
was in the man's hand. Temple of Doom. Temple of

(11:28):
Doom it is. Or I can get you a COMI cap,
a Russian Bulotka Soviet military WW two uniform cap.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
I'll take that all right.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
And it's got the sickle and hammer on it, by
the way, perfect stinking comedie.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Perfect.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
This party's really coming together. I'm gonna be honest with.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
You, yeah, late, it's really coming together late, it really has.
Uh No, my house is clean. I cleaned my house,
but you know, like when you have a guest coming over,
you pick up a little bit. Yeah, things are dusted.
Jesus all right. And somebody's like, you've never had mad
at your house. I can understand not inviting vicover. Well, no,

(12:13):
Vic's been here.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
Dick's actually been there. I got a birthday party a
day wrong. I called him the day after the party
and said, hey, I'm about to leave. Why, yes, yesterday
everybody was here. Yes, yesterday. Party was yesterday? All right?
Well next time that was five.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Last party I ever threw, alright, it was seven.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
This is this song of the day.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
Today's song of the Day is called San Diego from
talented producer, composer, and multi instrumentalist Sean Lee and his
Ping Pong Orchestra. Because the Petros and Money Show is
live on your AM radio as the Dodgers have made
their way down to the city of San Diego for
a brief two game series at Petco Park with the Padres,

(13:05):
which means that we're on a flex alert featuring two
and a half hours of great sports talk that'll for sure.
Get us to Tim Kathes, who will have your Marongo
Casino Dodgers on Deck show coming up this afternoon at
five thirty.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Dodgers made a big trade. Jack flaherny gonna be a
starter for the Dodgers straight out of Burdbank, Harvard Westlake. Guy,
We're gonna have a top story of the day. We're
gonna do the Bachelorette Report. I didn't forget that. We'll
have quick hits and a fun fact dead and alive.
Still a lot of content headed to Tim Kats who's

(13:43):
got Marongo Casino Dodgers on decks. Stay with the Petroson
Money Show for all the latest on am FI seventy
LA Sports. You're home of the Dodgers and live on
the iHeartRadio app. Hey, everybody, what's cracking? Welcome back Petroson Money,
Dodgers San Diego. Tonight, both teams made moves. We'll talk

(14:04):
to Dodgers GM Brandon Gomes in just a few minutes
to get the latest on what it was like taking
it right up to the trade deadline to bring in
Jack Flaherty and others. But right now it's time with
the top story of it.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
M I'm sorry of it, Brandon Gomes being a late
edition fee. The top story surrounds the trade deadline and
something you discussed a little bit earlier in the show,
the panic. The panic that ensued that overcame all of
the Dodger fan base, the Dodger reporters, the hosts of
programs like Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
On eighteen Minutes left.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
When the Padres were making a flurry of moves gutting
their farm system, Jay Preller.

Speaker 6 (14:46):
Needs to keep his job, so he gutted the form system.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
Over paying for relievers that were rentals, and we know
oftentimes that can be a shaky proposition of fifty to
fifty bettitt best when it comes to acquiring relievers that
are rentals at the trade deadline. As many people know
over and over, sometimes it goes great, sometimes it goes
horribly wrong. And people were freaking out. They're like the

(15:13):
Padres they got this Tanner Scott guy. They traded for
dudes with two first names, Tanner Scott, Joe Adam. That's
who's going to be backing up their their bullpen along
with this Suarez guy who's been back back with Suarez,
who has been the best reliever in baseball and the
Dodgers simply bided their time. They kept themselves in check.

(15:33):
They didn't freak out, even when Garrett Crochet was taking
off the market, even when the Tigers said, well, crotchhead,
I should say Crotchet. When when you knew your crotch
wasn't going to get hit, you were aware, Hey, my
crotch is safe, that hits not coming. And then there's
no screwball and this trade deadline, the screwball has been eliminated.

(15:55):
People forgot, They forgot about Jack Flaherty. And I do
this top story really for one reason above all others,
be because our man David Vasse, some four weeks ago,
he's the one that brought up the name Jack Flaherity.

Speaker 6 (16:11):
I do remember everybody's talking about Garrett Cruche, and I
want you to remember the name Check Flherity.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
And he mentioned the Dodgers tried to And that's the thing.
All the players the Dodgers were going after were guys
that we had kicked around with DV that they had
they should have signed this offseason to help provide some depth,
the Tommy Fams, the Jack Flaherities, and you end up
having to give up prospects of the trade deadline because
you don't get it done in free agency. But by
all accounts, and I will read you the grading. The

(16:42):
grade of the draft when it comes to the return
that the Dodgers sent the Tigers disappointing, especially in comparison
to what the Blue Jays got for you, say Cucci
kakucih Trey Sweeney is a probable big leaguer, but he's

(17:06):
hitting two fifty five three thirty four, four to twenty
seven at Oklahoma City, a good place to hit, and
he is a career two fifty average hitter in the
minors some pop. Difficult to see him as much more
than a fringe regular at best. Liranzo Lorenzo, because he

(17:26):
had another Dodger catching prospect just turned twenty one hitting
two twenty in the Midwest League, has power potential coming
off a huge year in Single A in his age
nineteen season. Upside here, but he has lost some of
the pizazz he had after last season. Could it turn
into a big win for the Tigers, sure, but we'll

(17:48):
see in a couple of years. So before Brandon Gommes
comes on tip of the cap to the Dodgers, they
did not have to give up Dalton Rushing to go
get Crosch crotchit or Rushing and Kartaia and River Ryan
and all these dudes to get the screwball instead a
couple fringe prospects, according to this guy, Schoenfeld, that returns them.

(18:09):
Jack Flaherty a guy that has a better era than
any starter on their roster, nearly as many strikeouts and
considerably fewer walks than Tyler Glass now right now seven
and five two nine, one hundred and thirty three strikeouts
to just nineteen walks and to one hundred and six innings.
And he's someone that likes pitching every fifth day, does
not need a day off, does not meet an extra starter,
does not need a six man rotation. So while you

(18:31):
are freaking out over Tanner Scott going to San Diego,
while you are freaking out about Jazz Chizz, Jazz Chisholm,
Chishm and Matt, it's jazz gism.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
A little inside baseball here. His parents call him Joe
just because it's really close, you know, like you know,
like John Daniels for Jack Daniels, or for Jack Kennedy
for John f. K. It's a Jason Adam.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Jason Adam.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Jason Adam is the other guy that the pod still
two first names, yes, no, he still qualifies there corrections
and retractions on me. Jason Adam, Tanner Scott two first name,
four first names in total going to the Padres Dodgers. Meanwhile,
Jack Flaherty and we like a Jack names John. Parents

(19:19):
call me Jack. That's what they're getting.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
And Kevin Kiermeyer, who David Veasse has pined for for
the last three trade deadlines and is hitting under two
hundred this year, so he fits right in with the
back end of the lineup.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Now, there were some other crazy trade deadlines over the years,
but those weren't teams that had Sho Hail Tani, Freddy
Freeman and Mookie Betts on him. This one does.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Yeah, we had the trade turner, right, the trade turner
Max Scherzer, who didn't want to pitch in the NLCS.
That was a trade deadline those pair two. But in
the future Hall of Famers, we.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
Were throwing a party like there was no tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
Huge Yeah, you Darvish, huge party.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Well, Matt, speaking of partying, it's your time, make it happen.
Time to talk to the guy who is right up
against it. This is like talking to Johnny Depp like
right after like he saw you know that movie Out
of Time or whatever, like like right after like.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Right after, like right after he's walking out of the courtroom.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Well yeah, right there.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
Yeah, I was thinking more recently, you know, like in
a movie where a guy like diffuses a bomb right
at the end, right, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
That's what Brandon Gomes is Dodger GM. Dodger's busy in
the last twenty four hours making four trades. They pull
off a trade for Jack Flaherty at the deadline. It
is friend of the show Brandon Gomes on your Southern
California Toyota Dealer Celebrity Hotline here to talk about what
it was like, Gomes, you have like a towel around

(20:50):
your neck. Was did you have to take a shower?

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Like?

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Was it gnarly? Like an action movie? What was it like?
Take us into the room.

Speaker 7 (20:57):
Yeah, there's a lot of stuff going on, a lot
of conversations and then obviously everything has to come down
right to the final minute. So yeah, good, very good
ending for the Dodgers and a lot of work put in.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
By a huge group of people.

Speaker 7 (21:13):
So we're pretty excited about what we're able to do
with the deadline.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Why does it so two questions I guess sort of here, Brandon,
Why does it have to come down to the last minute?
Is that just posturing to get the deal done? And
what the deal ultimately consists of? And two like, have
you ever in your years of doing this, have you
ever missed like, is it a hard deadline if that
thing is not in there at three pm Pacific? Or
can you say to the front off there the headquarters

(21:38):
of Major League Baseball, Hey, we got this thing. Just
it's right at the end. We're going to get it
to you in like one minute. Can you do that?

Speaker 7 (21:45):
So the first question, basically I think just get it.
The closer you get to a deadline, people just feel like, okay,
this is just a more serious offer from both sides.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
So I think anytime there's a deadline speaks things.

Speaker 7 (22:00):
Up to get people to what their bottom line ultimately is.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
And then yeah, it's a hard.

Speaker 7 (22:07):
Deadline, like you have some leeway of being able to
submit in email, so maybe it's not like completely official
in the system, but it has to be agreed upon
by both teams via email at the very very least,
So most of the time teams have it done and
that doesn't even become an issue.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
We know, there's a lot of great people in the
Dodger front office. Andrew Friedman the leader of that group,
but plenty of you guys could be leading your own
front offices. Are you all working in concert or you are?
Are you all working on different deals? And once you
kind of find the framework of one, everyone then like
moves to that phone. You're like, Oh, what's happening over here? Now?

(22:47):
How does that work?

Speaker 7 (22:49):
No, it's a divide and conqueror and having you know,
we're all having different conversations going at the same time,
and then you know, different ideas or off are put
out there and we'll walk through it as a group
and kind of get a general consensus of where we're
at and then how to go back or if it's

(23:09):
something we would or wouldn't do. So, you know, there's
a lot of a lot of different people having conversations
with teams and then kind of bring it all back together,
talk through it, and then split up again and you know,
go buy your business.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
Several names talked about leading up to the deadline, they
don't move, did it kind of feel like this was
a seller's market very much.

Speaker 7 (23:36):
So, Yeah, I mean, I think there's so many teams
within striking distance of the sixth wild Card, and then
there's you know, very few, you know, especially in the
starting pitcher front, very few impact starters available and even
fewer moves.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
So you know, we're extremely excited.

Speaker 7 (23:54):
To be able to get Jack part of the organization
and fired up to have them sort of you know,
our rotation down the stretch run and then being a
real real impact on him in October as well.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
So just if you can brand and expand on that.
What what is it about Jack Flairty that that made
him a target for you? He's clearly you know, for
us idiots, we can just look at the numbers and
they suggest he's having a really good year, But what
kind of picture is he and where does he fit
into the rotation?

Speaker 7 (24:21):
Yeah, I mean I think you look at a just
the surface line is excellent, right, I mean, all star
caliber numbers, I strike out low walk. He's done some
great things with his delivery and mechanics that have really
helped on a couple of different fronts, and like you
just watch his games and it's like elite, elite command.

(24:44):
So watching him, you know, front door back door cutters,
like his ability to move the ball around and play
the east west front back game is really really impressive.
So you when you're watching him, you can understand why
he gives hit ors fit. And then there's on top
of that the Commander's rail swinging miss stuff. So that is,

(25:05):
you know, obviously a really good recipe for success. And
then also what we feel, you know, really plays down
the stretch grown and hopefully on the biggest stage.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Brandon Gumms is our guest GM of the Dodgers. The
other three moves you add depth to the outfield and
infield and the bullpen with Copak talk about maybe checking
those boxes.

Speaker 7 (25:27):
Yeah, so you know, the the Edmond in copect Dell
Tommy is somebody we've been after for years. You know,
love the grittiness, the toughness, he can play everywhere, elite defense, versatility,
back to ball, steel bases like he he encompasses a
lot of things that we love and playing against him

(25:49):
is just like the biggest pain ever knowing he can
beat you a bunch of different ways. So we felt
like he complimented, you know, our roster extremely well, you know, he's.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Probably a little ways away.

Speaker 7 (26:01):
Had coming back from the risk injury and happened to
sprain his ankle along the way, so we'll reassess that.
But he's in a he's in a great place and
should be back you.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Know, here fairly soon.

Speaker 7 (26:13):
And then Copek obviously huge felow, impactful fastball, arguably one
of the best fastballs in the game out of the pen.
And then you've seen, like as of late, some usage
changes and you know, it's just everything really starting to
play out. So we feel like this is a power
arm with some real upside as we get to know him,

(26:35):
get them in our system, and hopefully, you know, pull
a few levers to increase usage and let him go out.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
There and en roll.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
How does it, Brandon, how does it work when you're
trading for a guy that has not played yet this
season and I'm assuming you can't get your medical like
your guys to look at Tommy Edmund, So how do
you know? What what is it that goes into making
that deal for some one that you clearly want to
have available, you know, as soon as possible.

Speaker 7 (27:04):
Yeah, So, I mean Tommy was out on the rehab
assignment which was helpful. Uh So we had scouts out
there watching.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Him and we're able to watch his.

Speaker 7 (27:13):
You know video of his game store system, and he
was swaying and the way the ball is coming off
the bat was, you know, in a really good place.
And then he's getting to San Diego today and gonna,
you know, get with our medical and performance team and
then we'll lay out kind of what the next steps are.
But talking to him yesterday, I was like, Hey, this

(27:35):
is about getting you back to being one hundred percent
and ready to roll because his speed is such a
huge part of his game. And then when he's feeling
good on that, we'll find a way to get him
plenty of that that's in the meantime. So putting all
those pieces together, we felt good about where Tommy was at.
And we know, you know, from all the makeup reports,

(27:55):
we got this guy loves being on the field.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
He's a grinder and he's really tough.

Speaker 7 (27:59):
So he's gonna You're going to get out there as
soon as possible.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
If you guys off the field here in La Mookie's out.
Moncie a big question mark. Assuming these guys come back.
There's some relievers on the IL and starters. There's a
lot of fresh baces coming back.

Speaker 7 (28:15):
Yeah, I mean that's what was you know, challenging about
the deadline was you know, our expectation was going in
and being focused on you know, real impact type moves,
and we felt like we were able to balance both
of them, just with where we're at the guys who
were expecting to come back here in the near term,

(28:35):
to be able to balance both impact and continue to
build out our depths so that we're in a good
place in the here and now was kind of how
we were looking at it, and we actually feel really
good about, you know, doing.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
That with the five oppositions.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Admit, how long does it take to you know, and
I guess it's both sides, right, how long does it
take a hitter to get timing and a picture to
to build up? Because you know, as we're sniff in
August here, like when is it sort of too late
to feel good about where a player can be by
the time the postseason arrives.

Speaker 7 (29:12):
Yeah, I mean, I think we're in a very safe
zone right now.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
With all of our guys.

Speaker 7 (29:16):
We have a lot of our relievers out on rehab already,
which is great to see. You know, Mookie Mounsey, are
you know, taking around balls and feeling good and so
I don't think like those guys generally, it's like, hey,
you let us know when you feel like you've had
enough at that, you know, and then Yamamoto has been

(29:40):
feeling great, looking really good throwing. So we have time
on all those guys when we're you know, looking at
you know, there's different timelines for East, but when we're
focusing on the stretch run, we're in a really good
place right.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Now, fresh off the trade deadline, right out of the
action movie. From the screen to your telephone, Brandon Gomes,
we appreciate you, thanks for doing it, and uh, congratulations,
we'll talk to you soon.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
All right, sounds good. Thanks for having me.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Thank you from Gomes. What are you gonna say now, Matt?
What are all those haters gonna say? You know, what
are you gonna say? On Twitter? What are you gonna say?

Speaker 3 (30:19):
What are you gonna say? Dodger's doing nothing? Padres doing
everything till October. Flirty's got all star stuff, man, at.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Least that's what he said. That's what he said.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
You heard him, you know, Copex got below.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
So big thank you to the Dodgers and Brandon Gomes,
David Vasse.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
You can seem it up. You know what a heavy
fastball is?

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Sure we do do do we have time for the
bachelorette report? There Kate's and the next shot we got Tom. Yeah,
all right, that's what we're gonna do.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
The going to Dodger Baseball. Check out Dodger on Deck
Dodgers on Deck at five thirty with Tim Kates, David Vasse,
a lot of new Dodgers in San Diego ahead of
this short two game series with the Padres. Michael Kopek
did an Instagram live with Dave, so all of the
coverage of the trade deadline in Dodgers on Deck coming

(31:08):
up in less than forty minutes.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
But here we are, Matt, ready for the bachelorette report
in the Yes, the Bachslorette continues, the male drama, the infighting.
It's like an Olympic village with only one female receptacle.
And they do finally leave melboyn Yes.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
Matt, that's how they said Melbourne.

Speaker 4 (31:36):
Like.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
French diving Olympic boners. The disgusting river, Celine Dion singing
through the pain. We live in the gutter here and we're.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
Going all the way my teeth and the gutter.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
They're going all the way to Auckland, Matt with the
kiwis so not that far of a trip. They go
to New Zealand and she starts out going on a
one on one date with the Evil Sam. There's the
evil Sam, who's like a white guy with tats that
she has a real physical connection to. But she keeps
saying she doesn't want to jump off the big needle

(32:10):
de in Auckland, and he's like, nah, do it, do it?
And she she's resisting and he's not hearing her. Matt,
And that's what this sounds like.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
For the first clip, A walk sounds lovely. No, we
would like to jump. This is a two person decision.

Speaker 7 (32:32):
This is a two persons decision.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
Here do you think you just make.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
Them to jump?

Speaker 3 (32:38):
Usually I'm not like that, but this one, I guess
why because at fifty years from now, you'll be able
to look back and I'm gonna be like, Damn, I'm
glad I jumped off that I hate heikes, I don't
want to do it. Yeah, I'm a little frushure with
Sam right now.

Speaker 7 (32:49):
He made a decision for the both of us.

Speaker 8 (32:51):
He tells the waiter that we're jumping without even asking
me how I'm feeling about it.

Speaker 7 (32:56):
I'm annoyed.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
I don't want to This is gonna be insane right
here for you, for both of us.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
Oh, I can't wait.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
I'm not doing it.

Speaker 4 (33:06):
You're gonna do it.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
Cheer's a growth. I'm not jumped it cheers the conquering
or fears. I'll give you a little push. I can't
do it now.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
I can't.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
It's not happening. I'm not doing it.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
I hate heights.

Speaker 7 (33:24):
I'm scared.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
I think he needs to be doing a better job
of reading like my emotions right now, I only hear
understanding that I'm actually unhappy.

Speaker 6 (33:33):
I don't want to do this.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Okay, do you know if she does it or not, Matt,
I'm gonna get she doesn't. She totally does it. Oh
what the hell? And then she makes out with him
and gives him a rose. But he did reveal himself
as a bit of a shallow beefcake Matt. And in
the meantime, there was some controlling behavior there. There really was. Uh,

(33:56):
there was a big rugby Hakka kiwied death group date. Okay,
that happened, and uh, that was interesting. And while that's happening,
Devon and the in Sam, the White Sam and Devin
the guy from Texas. So they've been fighting a lot.
If you remember that, Matt was that the car showdown? Yeah, okay,

(34:18):
there's another showdown between those two guys.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
What's you do with me? I don't have a deal
with you, Bro, I really really don't, Bro.

Speaker 5 (34:25):
Bro.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
I know what you said whenever I walked down the stairs.

Speaker 6 (34:29):
You know, you said something about Hey.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
You know, I hope he puts his best foot forward,
you know, his authentic. So that's not a personal attack.
Your name don't come out of my mouth.

Speaker 9 (34:37):
I don't care enough about you to even do that,
to talk about you, That's not what I'm here for.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
I'm here for Gen.

Speaker 8 (34:42):
That's why do you not see you say it's it's
about Jen, but then you make it about me.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
I'll go about you. I don't respect I don't respect
you either. I'm not gonna put your name in my mouth.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
Boy, You're not worth the second of my mind. Not
because okay, start waiting yours on me? And I literally
got nothing to say to.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
You, boss.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Why you want to add like, why I don't talk
to you.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Whether you talk to me, there ain't no.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
Did I say, why don't you talk to me?

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Said?

Speaker 1 (35:02):
I don't give up? Bro.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
Okay, Tim will tell man, Time will tell I hope.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
So so they're in a good place.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
Can I ask your question, well, what does Sam look like?

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Which Sam?

Speaker 3 (35:15):
Who is who is arguing?

Speaker 1 (35:16):
There? The white Sam. He's a white guy. He's swoll,
white guy with a goate in tats.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
I don't have the guy just said what's your deal
with me? That was White Sam.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
And Devin looks a little more swarthy out of the
Houston area. I don't have a deal with your bro.
I believe that's Devin.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
Sam sounds like he just got off the set of
Cool as Ice Well mad.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
He is kind of hard like that man. He looks
kind of like George Kittle in the face. Okay, Uh,
the love Virgin Sam. The other Sam, Iranian Sam him
he showed out in the rugby game and uh, he
was feeling good. And then he talked to Jen first
and then the group date and they all the other

(36:04):
guys attacked him. And that's a bad look too. That's
evil Asian Tom attacking Persian Sam. Here, let's hear that.

Speaker 5 (36:13):
Look what you guys are doing right now, And I
don't mean this out any disrespect.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
You're talking about me when you have one conversation as
that's with Jen. Right for me? This day, I made
it about Jen.

Speaker 4 (36:22):
There's a fine line between doing everything for Jen and
just being disrespectful.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
Of things and being way too much.

Speaker 4 (36:28):
You didn't have to bring the jersey and the trophy
in this two scored every one of your points. You
just don't care yourself like a man or an adult,
like you're a kid. I don't have to apologize for
this because I made her my priority.

Speaker 9 (36:41):
Yes, we are here for Jen. Our relationship is our
relationship there. But when everybody is involved in a group scenario,
like when we are walking into a house, not speaking
to anybody, holding the trophy in front of your face,
putting a trophy down where somebody else could have sat
is disrespectful as hell.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
At the end of the day, what are we discussing.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
You're not hearing it, like you don't want to hear it.

Speaker 8 (36:59):
You're stuck in his way of like it's about Jen
had nothing to do with any of this environment at all.
She was not watching us walk in the house she's
not sitting in this room when we're in here. All
those reactions toy disrespectful and they were disrespectful to the group.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Yeah, Matt, don't disrespect the group, the bromance group.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
You better not going home. Hey, he sat on a
trophy right up his keys there. It's terrible, horrible damage.

Speaker 1 (37:25):
It's like it fell on a fence. But that Sam guy,
Persian Sam, even though he showed out in the game,
he doesn't have much of a vibe with Jen. So
she sends him home. But she goes on a one
on one date with Houston Devon, who's in a fight
with the evil Sam, and that guy's making a run.
He gets a rose. So those two guys that hate

(37:46):
each other are still here.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
Well, that makes everybody happy at the ABC.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
Well what makes everybody even more happy is at the
very end, some ex boyfriend rolls up to Auckland to
try to win her back, some guy named Matthew. Matthew,
why are you here? And he's like, oh, I want
to be together. So we have to deal with that now.

Speaker 9 (38:06):
The last say a few months have felt different to you.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
I feel like we've been able to connect on a
deeper kind of level in that you are one of
the most important people in my life.

Speaker 9 (38:17):
You know me more than anyone else in the world,
and I'm not ready to let it all go.

Speaker 3 (38:23):
You know, you could have said this before I left.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
Yeah, I think I did say it, but I didn't
say it's grandly, I guess.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
So he is going to hang around for at least
a day, and she'll probably end up sending him home.
But it's it's there to inflame the other.

Speaker 3 (38:45):
Men, right, and the other day is the new plot
twist every year.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
Now, Yeah, yeah, the other men will have an inflamed
pernium for a couple of days, and they'll get some
good sound out of it, milk another ten minutes of
bachelor content out of it.

Speaker 3 (38:59):
Which boy friend, I'm Sam? Yeah, So are you stucking
the meat while you stupping up in my space?

Speaker 1 (39:04):
Show boy out of it? Think about you get your
name out of my mode.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
Get you in the my ma mob bull with boy friend,
We'll SUP with die. I don't have a deal with you, bro,
I really really don't.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
Bro bro bro bro bro bro broh raw bro bro bro.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
Dot my name out. I'm mold.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
