(00:23):
the La Dodgers in Think and down the Green, petrosin Money, Rosen, Money, Rosen, Money, Rosny,
the personality and the ego scream while the soul whispers.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Hang it out there, Petros and Money AM five seventy
LA Sports Live everywhere on the iHeart Radio app. Making
our way toward four o'clock, a flex alert starting an
hour early, going to the Galpin Motors broadcast booth for
Dodgers Brewers first pitch just after five pm. Dodgers on
deck at four, Tim Kates and everyone will get you ready.
As the Dodgers coming off a huge weekend, a sweep

(01:02):
of the buckos and they.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Think that would you'd think sweeping the pirates off the
plank into the sea. Matt would inspire Rogan and Rodney
to be able to finish their their one hour show
today as opposed to us to have to like put
sixty second breaks in there to get to the end
of the hour.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
So the work start. We're excited to be on an
hour early IY to talk about that I can't talk
about I'm sweet.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
If I was them on a Monday, I'd be hopeful
to have more time, and hopeful is what we are.
I'd have been more hopeful if I were them and
filled up the time. But hey, that's just me.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, I get an hour trimmed off my time, and
I'm coming off the opening weekend of the NFL's preseason
in town.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
You saw them pallor did you know? They filled time?
They fill in, they do the show. They're excited to talk.
They're not excited to get off, They're excited to get home. Anyway,
We're live everywhere on the iart radio app we are on.
We're on an hour early most of the week. We're

(02:09):
on an hour early all week except for a Thursday,
which will be probably a full show. The Dodgers are
in Milwaukee and they will be in Saint Louis. David
Vassa is doing TV all week. It is the week
of Tim Kates. Do we have the Burroughs Band or

(02:32):
anything like that. Because today and every day.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Sermon producer Rust shows, ill CIM baseball.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Everybody. Tim Kates will have Marongo Casino Dodgers on deck
an hour before first pitch, and then he'll have the
Dodger Clubhouse show right and then Talk which is usually
Clubhouse and Talk as usually David Vassy, but Tim Kates

(03:08):
the yoke this week, and Vassa will be doing heavy
television I think every day but Saturday because that's a
national game. So Tim Kates is in the driver's seat,
all strapped in and a lot of extra work on
AMPI seventy LA Sports. So look forward to the week

(03:28):
of the Wall.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
A lot of long days with Colin Ye just looking
across the board at him, staring at him.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Now every single day. How's your seat?

Speaker 4 (03:38):
A lot mean, Kate's You know what, Matt, I'm glad
you asked, because we're a little low on seeds right now.
I'm only down to one pack of the trial sized
peanut butter banana.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
I thought there was I thought there was a seating
last week that I noticed a seating.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
What do you mean by that?

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Like somebody brought some seeds oh, those are long gone.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
There was a a big pack of garlic palm and
a big pack of the Dell pickle, and those are gone.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
You want us to put up a GoFundMe. That'd be
kind of cool if you did.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
I mean, it is a long week.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
It's a long week.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
You got a lot to do here. Those burros band
horns aren't gonna play themselves, Matt.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
If the show ahead of us wants to cut their
programming short, you know somebody's got to make up for it.
And if Kates has got to do all this for
David Vasse TV star, you know.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
I found out really early on doing the pregame show
with seeds in my mouth is a hard thing to
do because all of a sudden, I throw it, you know,
to Dave talking to Rick Monday, and I got a
good I mean, I got a good cheek of seeds
gone right, like garlic palm. I'm feeling good. I got
my cup. I'm spinning in my cup, and three minutes
later it's like back to you, Tim, and I'm like
spinning them everywhere because I can't talk with seeds, so

(04:48):
then I end.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Up wasting good cheko.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
I hate seeing seeds waste it, like when tay Oscar
throws them up in celebration.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
By the time, that's really wasteful. That's like leaving the water,
you know what. That's like that commercial where the guy's
got the water on and there's the little African girl
like scooping the water and drinking it like they're like,
you don't know how valuable your water is. That's like
when Tao Scar throws those seeds.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
That Kate says, that little African girl scooping the water.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Oh, Matt, you didn't hear. When we were doing the
show last week. We were doing the show from Dodger
Stadium on the warning track and keiate Kate's and Colin
ye oh, let's not bring this up. Petro to bring
this up, and then like a dude and he was
so hunched from cleaning things over the years. A dude

(05:39):
that was super hunched came over with a sweeper and
a scooper and individually picked up each and every one
of Kate's seeds from the warning track, and Kate's and
Colin were so ashamed.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
I tried to get my feet and like, you know,
cover them one at a time with dirt.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
It was so bad.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
But the dirt, the dirt is so immaculate at Dodger Stadium.
You're on the warning track. It doesn't like there's not
a lot of like extra dirt. It's all packed in
and Collins over there apologizing to the guy like, I'm so.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Sorry, seed by Seed. This dude is just going.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
To wonder why we can't get an invite, why we
can't get an invite.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
We're talking to Sean Green, so I wasn't able to
really talk about it on the air the way I
wanted to. But I don't know if there needs to
be a GoFundMe for Kate's or what we should expect
for the week of Kate's. I don't know if Ronnie
is going to ask you every single day he is
the gonna be a food put today. But either way,
we're excited for the week of Kate's. We're also excited

(06:45):
because it's a modello meets a lot of Monday. You know, man,
it's not a real meat if it's not made with
Monella de lish.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
We are no different than Philly Barbara King Garcia.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
We embrace other than the fact that we don't cut hair.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Right, we embrace the fighting spirit just like mister cartoon,
just like him, and we are just like him, sap.
We are not tattooed.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Artists or get sixty three dollars for a show Ao
Tani T shirt.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
There's right, exactly right, DJ Citizen Jane.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
I'm gonna draw the number seventeen.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Anthony Munoz, Dame Lillard, Petrus in money. Those are the
folks that endorse MODELU and help take it to the
number one spot here in this fine nation of ours.
Because it is not a meat, but it's not made
with modello. We have the fighting spirit to you, ask yourself,
have the mark of a fighter. If you do, then
MODELO is for you.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
On this meet you long, We want to thank you,
give you a big gracias for coming on out to
our last of event. As Matt would like to point out,
the penultimate event of the summer, the Petres and Money

(08:07):
Show at the Thousand Oaks Tarantula Hill. The place was full,
people were happy. Not one person screamed that we were
frauds and liars and cheats at.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Us, well at you, corrections and retractions. Somebody called you
a cheat and a liar, Matt, in not so many.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Words, Corrections and retractions.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
I mean we were bluntly attacked.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Yeah, last, yeah, last. You know how you have a
wonderful a wonderful afternoon, everything goes great.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Why is there a grievance? I was trying to be
so thankful. What happened?

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Where are you going with this, Matt?

Speaker 2 (08:46):
You've finished the show, You've given out all the prizes,
you're taking photos with people, You're hearing great stories about
how your radio show affects them in a positive manner.
And someone walked up to you, Oh no, sticks their
ticket in your face and says you didn't give anything

(09:07):
away to the early people. Huh, Yeah, you didn't give
anything away to the people that arrived early.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Who who was this person you think it was? But
that doesn't count. She's upset at every show.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
With it counts because you should know better. Unless we
are going to tell you can no longer come to
the events because we have a great time. And I
believe her ticket number was two thirty six. I had
just given the television away to ticket number two fifty five.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Are you thinking of banning a listener for life?

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Thinking about it? I'm thinking about it. If you come
and the only reason you're there is to drink four
waters and try to win things. Then maybe we're not
for you.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Is that the order a lot? Maybe we're not for you. Well,
I didn't know that happened, Matt.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
You didn't give anything to the people that arrived early.
It's a giant bucket of tickets. I pull out tickets randomly.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Well, I'm sorry that happened to you, Matt. I got
out of there pretty clean. Yeah, I'm sorry. But it
was a great event.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
It was wonderful up to that point. The people were
so appreciated.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
It was great.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Don McClaine was great, awesome, It's great to see coach Mack.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Coach Mack for a thousand oaks. Jonas Knox, Eric Dickerson
was fabulous. Everybody was in a good mood.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
It was fantastic. The beer was delicious, the food was great.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
And somebody had to shove their ticket in your face.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
You didn't give anything away to the people that arrived early.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
Man, I'm trying to think about this. I've worked with
you guys a long time. I can't remember a remote
that the Petrels of Money Show did where you guys said, hey,
the early people are gonna get something special. What the
hell is this person talking about?

Speaker 2 (10:59):
I remember we gave away Hey Dodger tickets in the
first commercial break. I was like, Hey, it's Skeens versus
River Ryan, all you folks that got here early. Instead
of saving these things till the end, let's give it
away right here in the first break.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
What was your app to give away? Did you tell
her to pounce? Sand?

Speaker 2 (11:16):
I looked at you.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
You tell her to call DJ citizen Jane, And.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
I gave her the look that you would give Bill Shakin.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Oh the meanmuk.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
I didn't even I didn't say anything. I just looked
dead in her eyes, and she's like she waited about
four or five seconds and then said, oh, but you know,
we love I'm just I'm just messing with you. We
just we just love having Yeah. No, you're not not
messing with me, because if you, if you weren't serious
about it, you wouldn't approach me and say something that's stupid.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
We've never banished a listener before. I mean, we've suspended
Vic and slammed the jail door in his face. Are
we gonna slam the jail door at which? I love
that sound? Yeah, in the face of a listener. It
drives for hours to come to our events and drink
water and win prizes.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Just I don't know why, why are you here?

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (12:05):
You know where I get it. The prizes are great,
and we have got great prizes that we're given away
advance great.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
We got prizes we're giving away today. Speaking to Dodger tickets,
we have tickets every hour to the August twentieth game
versus the Marinaras, Teo Scar Bobblehead Night, Ti Oscar Hernandez.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
We love giving.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
It's going to be here.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
We love it exactly. Justin Turner, it's the Petros versus
Softy bet if if the Dodgers win the series, Uh
your head, I gotta swim in the sound. We love
giving things away. We would have to give something away
to everybody.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
If I win. Softie's gotta run naked through the l
A river holding two bags of crack.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
I mean, we got great things to give away, and
this guy we should I should have I should not
have interrupted. It's just it's like, hey man.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
I'm sorry, Matt. It's a real bummer. I mean you
all weekend long.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
It bothered me for about the first half hour of
my drive home. I was like, God, like, that was
a really great remote, and then that's.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
And it went smoothly, went smoothly, and now we want
to slam the prison door on this person.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Maybe it's just on air pressure, just on you know
how we basically we shamed on air a couple people
from coming to our remotes that used to be dedicated
at every remote. They won a big prize, they were
ungrateful and they were shamed, and they have not shown
their face since. So maybe this is sort of a

(13:38):
similar approach, Like, you know, what if the only reason
you're coming is to, you know, to be one of
a thousand people and try to get your hands on
one of fifteen prizes, you know, for giving away fifteen things,
and there's a whatever between seven hundred and a thousand
people here. Maybe you know there's some people that are
going to go away without winning the TV there's one

(13:58):
of them sometimes too.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
This comes from the eight one to eight Do it
banish her? I was there and I had tickets and
I was bummed that I didn't win anything, but hey,
that's life in the big city case Hurrah, lock her up.
This says, let the textosos decide, suspend and lots not suspend.

(14:25):
This says our table wins stuff all the time, and
we get there an how we're early. We want a
TV gift cards forrest lamp clip her tickets, and we
love and appreciate it. All prizes are gravy. Thank you, sir,
thank you. Yes, that's exactly the approach you should have.
The prizes are gravy, and yeah they're great prizes that
they are gravy. The party, the camaraderie, everybody's smiling and

(14:50):
lead face to face with the voice of the bolts him.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Come on, even that can't reign on your parade.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Eight one two. Assuming this lady is listening right now,
how could you do you ever show her face at
an event? Again? Does she have no shame? For sure? Uh,
that's the idea I think these people have. You know,
you have Trader Joe's Kevin calling for a suspension.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Yeah, Kevin, thank you keV. We love Trader Joe's, especially
that pimento and cheese dip. I just don't know, like
how many times has she yelled at us or yelled
at wee or had an issue with something. It's like,
why do you keep coming? She loves the show, She
loves great sports talk, but I know she does. She
shows up at Rogan and Rodney events as well. And

(15:35):
that's the rub that's you just said it. Does she
love the show or does she want to win? Probably
she's a big Dodger fan. She's always wearing Dodger gear.
She talks about the Dodgers NonStop.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
The moral of the story here is, don't get too
close to the show. You're bound to be upset. That's angry,
and things are not going to end well. Prize Hooker,
I think he's come around. Things are okay with the
prize Hooker. We're doomm who tried to fight Kates. Oh,
Victor Brick having a heat stroke of some kind. Uh.

(16:15):
The Bohemian leather guy gave us a bunch of leather
products for Jack Peterson's brother and then got really angry
when it never happened that he got them.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
I haven't seen him since.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
And the list goes on and on. Don't ever put
your life in the hands of a rock and roll band,
as Oasis always says. Yes, David Masse is here the
Dodgers with an inside look at the Dodgers. This is
the Vassie Report with David Vasse Live from Milwaukee, seen

(16:51):
the crime, of course. David Vasse our Dodger hero on
TV all week Spectrum Sports and at LA MLB Network.
He's with the Dodgers. Dodger fans feeling a lot better
after the weekend sweep. David Vasse on your Southern California
Toyota Dealer Celebrity hotline, Dave, how's it going out there?

Speaker 3 (17:10):
It's going great, guys. The roof is open, the roof
will be open for the game tonight. It's Kruse Shaw
Day and this is I know, holy crap is what
everybody has on their mind, the slide and all that,
but this place has good memories for the Dodgers beating
the Brewers in Game seven of the twenty eighteen NLCS,
so all of those things flood through my mind, Dave.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
The focus will be on the Division and San Diego
and Arizona, who are white hot right now, the two
hottest teams in baseball post All Star Break. Got four
games with Arizona three with San Diego in the month
of September, but considering the top two teams did a bye,
this could be one of the biggest, if not the

(17:56):
biggest series they have for the remainder of the year
if they want to get that buy out of the
wid card round.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
Yeah, it's a big series between the Dodgers, the Phillies,
and the Brewers. There's only a game that separates these
three teams from the number two seed. The Dodgers have
the best record in the National League currently with the
Phillies and the Brewers are just a game behind. So
there's a logjam not only in the wildcard race, but

(18:22):
also for these three division winners. And look, there is
an advantage to be able to reset your rotation, get
guys a little bit of a breather after the season
with those five days off. But I think whether or
not the Dodgers do get that, the last forty five
games of this season are not resembling the last forty

(18:43):
five of the last two years since this new playoff format.
And I think that's a good thing for the Dodgers.
They are playing with some urgency. You saw the Dodgers
make an urgency type of move by having Mookie Betts
go back to right field because tryout time, experiment time
is completely over with.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
Now Mookie Betts cannot get back on to the field
without his re entrance interview with David Vasse So I
know you have him on Dodgers on deck today. He's
been reactivated. What can we expect, Dave, And that's quite
a change the right field workout and all that stuff
from what we were talking about just last week about

(19:22):
Mookie's place in the lineup and wanting to play shortstop. Still.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
Yeah, My understanding is after the simulated game last Thursday,
Mookie played shortstop there and just didn't feel as confident
as maybe he was feeling before he got injured. And
he recognized that and had a conversation with Dave Roberts
during the time we were doing the show Petros last
Thursday about how he feels more confident at this point

(19:50):
in time coming back after six weeks to play right field,
and I think he understood what the Dodgers needed at
this point in time. They did not need Mookie Betts
as much at shortstop as maybe they did six weeks ago.
We talked about how the Dodgers were concerned about Rojas
lasting one sixty two. Well it's no longer a marathon.

(20:11):
It's a forty five game sprint. Rojas also missed some time,
so he's got his legs underneath him, and this is
the best way to go. And you know how many
superstars would a change positions as many times as Mookie
Betts has and be understand it and go back to
right field, the position that he thought he was done with.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Dave, you mentioned sprint, and I think it's a perfect
way to frame you know, this particular question. Every single
game is going to count. It is a sprint. So
with you know super Bummer that River Ryan is out
as well as he has pitched, you know, in his
young career. But it seems like they're just penciling and
Walker Buehler, although it doesn't say that officially on the schedule.

(20:54):
How much lead is he going to be given, how
much patience will they have with him? And what are
their other options? Is they wait for Yamamoto to get healthy.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Yeah, well Yamamoto is healthy. They're just slow playing him
to be ready to come back the first week of
September is my understanding. And look like we talked about
urgency for this season, forty five game sprint. You really
can't afford guys any longer leash of trying to figure
things out, especially when it comes to a guy like

(21:25):
Walker Buehler. That hasn't really shown that he's back yet,
so I feel like it's a one to two start
leash for Walker Bueler. That's for sure, all.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Right, Dave, any plans with the slide, I mean, you're
doing television, You're you're set up pretty pretty well to
do something epic.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
Any thoughts, Yeah, well, we'll see, We'll see how it goes. Petrouh,
Trey Turner told me to put a hat in the
middle of the clubhouse to see whether or not it
gets filled up, and that could entice me to go
down the slide again.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Trey Turner's not on the Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
Yeah, but I saw when they were in town for
the Phillies every day. Trey gave me a tip.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Dave's relationships last for life.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
They really do. David Vassy, You're not hey, you might
just be a Dodger for a little while. All that
may assist there you go, you you you you were
only a Dodger for a short time. But your friends
with that say forever. It's like a roach motel. You
can check in, but you could never check out. All right,
We love you, Dave. Have a great time out there,
and please protect your neck.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
Thank you, Thanks Dave.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Mookie bats on the prename pretty sweet. That's all we
do is sweet stuff, man like.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Banned listeners, Banned listeners in the first segment, Attack show,
Hail Tani in the second, what a lineup?

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Somebody tell Vic to turn it on right and we'll
be right back with more trying to get fired? Guys,
are you trying to get fired? Is that what you're
doing for actively? Trying? Actively? For years? It's a modello
meets a lot of Monday and I'm a horse Monday.
The Olympics are over. No more French erections to lean
on like a lamp post. You know what, We'll do

(23:23):
it right here, Matt. We'll give something away to the
people that got here early, unlike we did at the remote,
you dirty bastard.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
We like giving things away to the people. We enjoy
the joy that it brings each of them, and not
The Early Day will have two opportunities for you to
win tickets to August twentieth home game against the Seattle Mariners.
It'll be Tascar Hernandez bable head night. One pair of
this hour, one pair next hour. You want to go
see theo Scar who doesn't call right now eight six six,

(23:52):
then it's seven two five seventy dollars ten eight six six,
then it's seven two five seventy, and we'll have another
pair to give away next hour. We hope those of
you that don't win are still able to enjoy the program.
We hope in the rest of our program. The program
is program.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
What we all, everything we do is for the program. Here,
don't forget it. So well, that'll meet you a lot
of Monday, and don't forget that. We will be out
at the Van's headquarters on Thursday, August twenty second, at
the Van's headquarters from coast to me, so that'll be
our last stop. It's a Thursday, you better be there.

(24:29):
But right now it's time with the top story, the
top story of it.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Well, thankfully the lineup that was posted by David Vasse
an hour ago did not sabotage the top story of
the day because I was thinking about it. And yes,
routine ly we hate everything, We hate everyone, and everyone
hates everything we do in us as well.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Well. We open the show attacking Rogan and Rodney for
not doing an extra two minutes to finish their hour.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
Which I think is fair, and then we.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Attacked a listener who got after you on our Friday event,
and now we're attacking who?

Speaker 2 (25:06):
Uh show he Otani?

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Okay, the most the most important person in the Dodger.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Franchise, probably the most important athlete in Los Angeles, was
watching the game yesterday. Second inning, chance to blow this
thing open, maybe go up seven to nothing with a
guy on pace for forty nine homers, and Otani pops out.
Fourth inning, Buckos have had the lead four to two. Now,

(25:31):
chance to give Tyler Glass now some breathing room. Two
on brilliant bunt by kier Meyer, Kiki and Pahz in
scoring position, one out, second and third infield is in,
and Otani can't even get a sack, fly drowns out.
Nobody scores now to triple in the sixth nobody on
we to the eighth game tied? I mean it's still

(25:54):
a triple. I mean, you know what is he like like.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
It a triple game?

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Is top Bonda let down in the top?

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Was it on three to one? Matt three one three ones?
My pete to eat?

Speaker 2 (26:08):
It was a chance to get it right back, get
the lead right back at the final three outs. No
big deal, you're up for nothing. It's tied four for
all good. Otani's there one out man on second, second pinch,
second pitch and he cannot get it out of the infield,
pop up the short to the tenth tie game. After
going behind five to four, ki k bangs a run

(26:28):
in to tie it. You got a chance to win
it for Otani. One out first and second and he
hits a pop out foul territory. Now in a Lebron
James to the heat style manner, that is not one,
not two, not three, but four opportunities to bring in
a run and help the Dodgers win the game, and

(26:51):
he came up lame in all of them. He has
dropped his average on the season to two thirty one
with runners in scoring position, while hitting three to eleven
with the bases empty. No, do not qu up beautiful
disaster again. Two thirty one risp runners in scoring position,

(27:14):
top of the order now he has not been there
the entire year. Forty six games of hitting leadoff, he
is hitting two seventy four a donger every eleven at bats,
striking out every three point one at bats, getting a
hit every three point six at bats, hitting second sixty

(27:39):
nine games, his average is forty points better three fourteen,
on base slightly better up three points three eighty seven,
slugs slightly lower six oh two. And he is a
dong in the donger at a less frequent rate, once
every fourteen at bats, but striking out less instead of
every three point three every four point four, while getting

(28:02):
ahead every three point one at bats. That's better. A
lot of math there, I know. And he's fading. Otani
is fading.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
So you're saying Otani is not clutch.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
I'm saying if he tears it up in April, May
and June, when he's hitting three twenty three over those
three months, twenty six homers, sixty ribis. July he hits
two eighty six, had his worst strikeout month, thirty three
of them despite the days off for the All Star Break,
most strikeouts he's had in a month by seven, and

(28:32):
again they had a week off. Since the All Star Game,
he's hitting two seventeen, striking out nearly a third of
his at bats.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
He was a lock.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
Otani was a lock for the MVP that is now
up for grabs in August. The nine games that he's
played in August, thirty nine at bats and he's hitting
one seventy nine. Chris Taylor's average higher than that.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
He's coming back. You know, he's getting more healthy.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Two seventeen since the All Star break, one's seventy nine
in the month of August, which leads me to ask
this question. Are they not letting Muki lead off when
he returns tonight because they don't want it to appear
that Otani is getting demoted That because Otani has been

(29:27):
struggling and in a brutal slump as of late, that
Muki coming back and taking the lead off could be
viewed as Otani getting demoted and shining a negative light
as though this was performance based, because it is misleading
to say they have both hit really well leading off,
which is what the the company line is Otani to

(29:51):
seventy four in the leadoff spot, three fourteen hitting second.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
So what some would say it's reminiscent kind of of
the Jewels right put up numbers when they don't mean
a lot like Trout is done, monster individual stuff like
you mentioned yesterday, a triple with nobody on right.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Risph for four.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Would they be here?

Speaker 2 (30:15):
Yeah, hitting two thirty one on the season, risp runners
in scoring two thirty one.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
And by the way, Muki obviously he's only hit lead
off this season before he busted his wrist, three or
four that would lead the NL right now, I think
I think a res res might be three zero six,
but whatever, it's close. Strikeouts. And again, Otani strikeouts one
every three point three at bats in the leadoff position.

(30:43):
Muki won every eight point four at bats. That is
a gigantic difference from every three point three to every
eight point four RISP. Again, Otani two thirty one, Mooki
with runners in scoring position three point fifty eight, three
fifty eight RISP. And the numbers are even of a court.
This is from Jack Harris. He wrote in the game

(31:04):
recap yesterday after the Pirates, the numbers are even worse
for Atani. The last twelve games he's hitting one seventeen
one seventeen, So that's with runners with runners on one's seventeen.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
So he's still on pace for forty home runs and
forty stolen cases. And you'll be the only like the
sixth guy in MLB history. Yeah, to do that exactly,
So still pretty good. Not saying not pretty good. What
I'm saying is the whole uh, and this.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
Was the quote from Mookie and this was really the
only hiccup that we've kind of heard from him about
how they're treating him coming back.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
Well, we got into this last week.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
Yes, there's nothing you can do. Whatever show Hey says
goes after that, we kind of fall in line. That
was the only thing he said that could be construed
or viewed as a negative, And it maybe was a
bit of a subtle shot, but it wasn't him to
his leadoff spot, but maybe a statement that would lead

(32:03):
to what I'm talking about that when you look at
the numbers, look, there's nothing that says Otani is and
should stay in the leadoff spot. That your best hitter
needs the most at bats, and the higher and the
order you go, the better chance you have of getting
them an extra at bat at the end of the
game when the game is going to be on the line.
That's the whole idea of adding someone higher in the

(32:24):
lineup is trying to get them as many at bats
as possible because they're your best hitter. And obviously, for
all the people that want to attack Dave Roberts, this
is not on him. This might not even be on
Andrew Friedman. This could be a Mark Walter decision that hey,
let's ask Otani, can we just throw you back to
number two? We want Muki to lead off. Today is

(32:47):
the only day they could have pulled this off because
they could have used the line that David Vesse has
used with us repeatedly. Mooki was having an MVP season.
He was the odds on favorite to win the MVP
when he busted his wrist, and he did that hit
and lead off. He worked his tail off, he attacked
his rehab, and we don't think anyone should ever lose
their spot to injury. He's been great with us and

(33:08):
said he's willing to move to right field because Michael
Rojas has been playing so well, so he'll do that,
but we absolutely want Mookie in the lead off spot.
We don't believe he should lose that spot because it
was working so well for us when he was healthy,
and that's right where we're going to slot him.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
So you support the snarky comments of Mookie bats Matt.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
In that kind because that's all he's That's the only one.
Everything else. He's towed the line and said he's the
one that went to the team and said moved me
back to right field. He's when asked about bat and
second after that, he just said, you know, whatever I
can do to help the team win. He's been given
that line. It was just that one time, that one sentence.
And when you look at the numbers, if in fact

(33:53):
that's what he's looking at, I would I'd agree the guys.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Would have seventy one if he didn't lay out all
the numbers, you know, if Mooki didn't lay it all out,
you know, like a beautiful mind. Yeah, I don't think
you would have said that.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
No, but if a guy's hitting two thirty one with
runners in scoring position, he's hitting one seventeen in his
last twelve games, and he's been struggling the last month
and a half or the last yeah, about a month
from the first of July all the way through Now
Like now is you could have done it today. Today

(34:26):
is non performance related. It's we don't think a guy
should lose his spot because of injury and because of
how well we were performing. Remember that time we had
the eight game lead, the nine game lead in the
division when Mookie was healthy and he was hitting lead
up and o'dani was hitting second. Yeah, we're going to
go back to that, see if we can get out
of this eight or whatever it is now eleven and

(34:48):
eight run that we're on since the All Star Break
and rebuild that lead doing things the way we were
last year.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
Mookie Betts was the highest paid guy on the team
and the most important guy on the team. And that's
not the case anymore. Now. It's Shoe Heotani and I
mean numbers, yes, whatever, I mean, you could do all
that stuff, but what Otani says goes now because it's
Otani's team. Last year it was Muki Bets's team. It's

(35:15):
never gonna be Mooki Betts's team again as long as
Otani's here.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
And I hope they do. When Mooki played like crap
in the playoffs, what do we do? We got them.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
I don't know what anybody's gonna do. I'm just offering
explanation just to what's going on. I mean, I don't
think it's ever gonna be any different. I mean, the
Dodgers are making billions of dollars because of Shoe Aotani.
They are gonna do everything possible to feature him and
celebrate him. They're going to Korea, They're going to Japan
and Mookie Betts can either like it or not like it.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
I guess yeah, I think I take the you know,
I take the other side of it, which is Otani
should give up the spot. Hey, I'm gonna slump. I'm
hitting like crap, like crap since the All Star Break.
Maybe this will reignite something and I can figure it

(36:07):
out and I can get back to to whatever it
was that was working those first three months of the
season when I you know, when when he was having
an epic historic year and that has disappeared the last
four weeks.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Well, Matt, it's probably up to Otani. Yeah, so's he's
going to have to come to that kind of realization.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
Do the right thing, showy huh.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
Just show them the numbers, Matt. We'll get down there
and you can show them the numbers.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
You're hitting one seventeen, dude, one seventeen, zero for four
with runners in scoring position yesterday in a tight game
that damn near got away, including in the bottom of
the tent in a tie game, could have walked off
with it. Pop up Fiul territory third base side.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Matt Smith Week and Truth to Power, We'll be back
with more great sports how is your weekend coming up next?
Big bag boot, Thanks for listening, everybody. It is the
Petros and Money Show. On this I'm a Horse Monday.
On this, Modello meet a lot of Monday enjoy a

(37:18):
Modello meets a lot of hashtag modelo USA. Please drink responsibly.
Matt attacks show a Otani and his WRISP. In the
last segment, talked about Mookie Betts. We talked to David
Vessey the segment before that, and Matt wants to suspend
a listener from coming.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
To event to start right.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
We've got another event on Thursday, a week from Thursday
at the Vans and Coast to Mesa. That's our final
summer tour event and there will be prizes and custom
Petrosen Money Van shoes and it's gonna be great. We're
gonna go all the way until four o'clock tomorrow. Will
be the same soul Wednesday. Thursday is the only full show.
We're two to four every other day this week as

(38:01):
the Dodgers are on the road in Milwaukee. Mooie bets
on the pregame show and it's Monday.

Speaker 5 (38:06):
I'm gonna do what I do. The weekend is mine soa,
I was your weekend, Matt, It's good weekend. Another too
exciting a little bit, you know. Obviously Saturday was a workday.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
Served in the morning, got a note that I had
to get up to so far a little bit earlier
than I had anticipated because we had to get a
shot on the field and you know how that works.
Pee Union rules. They got to have meal and if
we can't get that shot before meal, then we're not
going to get it.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Yeah, gotta be there hours before kickoff.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
Yeah, pretty much.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
For a for a two minute nothing, let's not get
crazy minute ten mid ten. So I was able to
sit around for quite a while. Needs a lot of help, guys.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Stuff for the pregame radio on All ninety eight point seven.
Hung out with Dan fouts pregame and it was Tom
Brady was in the booth with KB doing a mo call.
Could not have been nicer. Said hello to everyone for
a bit and and Dan Foutz was fun to watch
them kind of wrap and talk quarterback in for a
good fifteen minutes and yeah, caught it. Called it a

(39:09):
great defense, defensive, and special teams game. Oh, my father
was very excited about Nick Neeman. He was taking me regularly.
I appreciated that tough offensive game. Kevin de Burkhardt is
KB guys, sorry, Kevin Burkhark. Traffic was that this was
this was again the things that I can complain about.

(39:31):
They they used to have this little sort of like
I would just run over the cones. I didn't care
these little orange cones, and I would go down the
side street in Inglewood. But they got wise to that
and they put up a full on barrier on the
side street that I would cut through.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
Now that into it's open, Matt, You're not. There's no more.
There's no more. Englewood is being sucked of all its
yeah character and side streets, and they're closing all the schools.
Whoever was on corporate it's all for the corporate dollar.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
Bro, corporate dollar. Man. There was someone playing at the forum,
and I think that's what maybe contributed to it as well,
because I was going that way. They funneled me out
of the parking lot that way. I don't know who
was playing, but yeah, that Luke screwed me because it's
the worst traffic I've been in. And it was a
preseason game, and it was not an entertaining game. And

(40:23):
yet it took me about forty five minutes to get
to the freeway and that was a bit of a bummer,
but still got home in time to take the wife
down to the abbey for pizza, beer salad to close
out the night. Sunday, same thing, surfed little dawn. Patrol
had to do some garage cleanup as construction starting on
the roof here in about a week. That took a
few hours and really that's about it. Watched the Dodgers

(40:47):
mention that got to see show hey go zero for
four with some risk.

Speaker 1 (40:49):
Yeah, I got very upset about it.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
And yeah, so good weekend, just not all that exciting.

Speaker 1 (40:54):
How about you. TC had a busy weekend, guys.

Speaker 4 (40:57):
Busy weekend started right after Dodgers on deck at seven o'clock.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
On the shows and your wife there in thousand zerhs
and my sister in law was there and had a
great time. And she was somebody who won Dodger tickets
and I had to tell her, you can't win, so
we had to give him back and somebody else got
to win those Dodger tickets fatdays, as they should.

Speaker 4 (41:15):
My brother in law, after he got off of patrol,
he came out and hung out for a little bit
during Dodgers on Deck, but then my wife and I
and the average went to the Forum. Matt, this is
Friday night. I don't know who was playing Saturday night.
Friday night, though Luke bron turned it over that fast.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
That's probably Luke Broyan on Saturday too. I would guess
he screwed me a few.

Speaker 1 (41:32):
Luke sold out crowd Friday night.

Speaker 4 (41:34):
And not to rub it in your face about the
parking mat, but I got up on you on this.
My wife knows somebody who owns and runs the parking
lot at the Forum. Oh nice, and reached out to
this couple and said, hey, we got last minute tickets
to go see Luke Bryant. Can you help us out
with parking. We were on the VIP parking list, got

(41:56):
off to four or five in Manchester, made a ride
on Prairie, then they left into the Forum parking lot.
We parked in the front row, right next to the
entrance on the southwest side of the Forum. It was
great getting in, no problem VIP lists. We were one
of like four cars in this front row. Getting out

(42:16):
was tough because when you get out of the show,
people are drunk and they're hungry, and what are they doing.
They're those hot dogs from those little vendors. Oh yeah,
which happened to be right.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
They don't let them around SOULFI since that guy drown,
but they have them around the forum.

Speaker 4 (42:33):
Yeah, and they were everywhere, and people are hungry, they're drunk,
and there's a line to buy hot dogs and rip
off merch and it's right in front of our car.
So we had to get little help to get out
of there and move the hot dog vendors like partying
of the Red Sea, so we can get out of
there and get home. But you're right, traffic getting out
half an hour from the parking lot to the four

(42:55):
or five freeway a half an hour brutal to go
one point eight miles half an hour. Saturday, First Raiders
preseason game. That was a lot of fun against the
Minnesota Viking's household had Dodgers. Went to dinner with my
wife at the Morrison and Burbank, which is a spot
down there on what is that magnolia? I believe Sunday.

Speaker 1 (43:13):
Drive by it. It goes, come on, baby, take a
chance with us. It does Sunday, Baby, take a chance
with us.

Speaker 4 (43:19):
I had Dodgers pre impost this is a getaway day
and yesterday, thankfully was one of the longest games of
the year, three hours and fourteen minutes. Had time to
get a lot of air checks done, a lot of
housekeeping here at the radio station that I needed to
get done, and then went home and did nothing. I
laid it on the year, sending a lot of emails,
doing a lot of logistical stop. Well, the game took

(43:40):
three hours and fourteen minutes, so after I got calling
and I lunch from Chipotle, I had plenty of time
to sit around and do housekeeping.

Speaker 2 (43:46):
Chipotlet send your kids, Chipotlet.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
You order off the app. You get free stuff and
the rewards. It's a different It's.

Speaker 4 (43:52):
The best thing.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
It's the best thing.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
Ronnie Howard, is your weekend?

Speaker 6 (43:54):
No, don Kuco's up there, tim Saturday, I was up
early to run a few errands around town. I watched
the Olympics and tv USA basketball when gold against France, yay,
and then I went to the Dodger game on Saturday
afternoon for Alumni weekend. Got there early enough to see
the pregame ceremony inducting Walter O'Malley into the team's Ring
of Honor, and it was really nice to see all

(44:16):
the old time Dodgers. Probably been a great number of
years since all of those old time Dodgers were together,
especially the great Dusty Baker, which was the highlight of
my Saturday. I loved Dusty Baker as a player. I
remember as a kid going out and seeing everybody throwing

(44:36):
packs of gum in left field. Dusty Baker would walk
around the left field area, pick up all the packs
of gum and stick him in his back pocket. And
it was known as Baker's Acres back then. So it
was a real thrill to see Dusty Baker, especially posing
with Ron Say, Steve Garvey, and Reggie Smith for that
special thirty thirty picture. On Sunday, we watched the Olympics

(45:00):
closing ceremony and then went for a nice sushi dinner
at a place called Chiba in North Hollywood. That was
my weekend.

Speaker 1 (45:06):
Well che cheba, It was a great weekend. What about
that was Alantis Moore set at the Forum matt on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
Atlantis is playing a forum.

Speaker 1 (45:15):
Thank you India. Look at that one day ago live
at the Kia Forum, Atlantis Morset hand in my.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
Pocket yes, yeah, my hand was in my pocket too.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
And the other hand is giving up peace.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
Sign flipping you off for wrecking my freaking side street shortcut.

Speaker 1 (45:32):
Uh. Saturday night or excuse me? Uh? Friday night, when
I got home, my mom dropped off my son, who
had been at my parents' house, and she said that
my sister Angel was going to quote unquote fix my
wagon in her morning yoga class for some reason. So
I did not go. I can't tell you if the

(45:53):
union guy was there or not. Uh, to my sister's yoga.
He did not go. I didn't On Saturday. I skipped
for the first time in twenty five days because she
said she was going to quote unquote fix.

Speaker 2 (46:04):
My wagon and you didn't want your wagon fixed.

Speaker 1 (46:06):
I didn't know what that meant, and I resented it,
you know, I mean, why can't I just be treated
like any other person doing yoga? Why did my wagon
need to be? Well?

Speaker 2 (46:13):
Maybe fixing your wagons a special treatment that you get
because you're a VIP.

Speaker 1 (46:17):
No, she was no, trust me. My son had his
very last baseball a little league baseball game, so we
did that, and then my dad wanted to go to
Trump's afterwards, so we did that and had a bloody
mary down at the big golf course with the big
American flag on a Sunday. I did make it to yoga,
and I did not know he was not at Kefe

(46:40):
yoga there on a Crenshaw.

Speaker 2 (46:42):
And Union guy girl Jason girl Brianna she.

Speaker 1 (46:48):
Union guy Jason or Adam Oslin? Did Jason?

Speaker 2 (46:51):
I think kind of all of it.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
Did you see that Adam Oslin's doing like fitness stuff socialia.
He had a fitness tweet about getting down to ten
said body fat for the Clipper season. Okay, he thinks
that'll keep Kawhi's me healthy.

Speaker 2 (47:04):
That's idea. Yeah, congratulations.

Speaker 1 (47:08):
I watched Hoosiers with my son. Did he get it
last night? I made him watch Hoosiers? Yeah? He was
into it. Good, So that was good. And I showed
him right after Barbara Hershey and uh and Gene Hack
and Norman Dale were kissing there. You didn't do that
right there, threw it right down on the cornfield right there.
I said, what do you think happened next? Do you

(47:28):
think they just kissed there? Hell no, not Norman Dale.
He's gonna get his It's been a long time for
me too. Yeah, what do you think is next? Talking
about kissing?

Speaker 2 (47:41):
Did he say you remind him of Shooter?

Speaker 1 (47:44):
H No, No, I was more like a buddy type, Matt.
I see myself as buddy or Strap's Strap.

Speaker 2 (47:56):
That guy's just like you when you come to my baseball.

Speaker 1 (47:59):
That's where you met on the field. That's like when
you live in the woods and you get all cold
and you almost die all the time. Remember Dad, what
does he mean by bad visions? Well son, when a
guy's a drunk, you know. I was glad to have
watch Hoosiers with my son. The other movie we were

(48:21):
able to connect on was Teen Wolf and The Water Boy.
Thus far, nice, Well, we hope you have a wonderful
evening listening to Mookie Bets and show ay O Tommy
blow it with runners in scoring position. But we're gonna
be on for another hour and then Tim Kates has
got an hour. Mookie Bets is on the pregame show.

(48:44):
It is time
