Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome three hours a great sports dot to the Petros
and Money Show on air at AM five seven LA
Sports with the ability to really go anywhere and do anything,
streaming everywhere with the iHeartRadio app hosted by Bad Money Smish.
Check out the Fit and Petros Papadakas. That's what we
like to hear. Here they are on your home of
(00:23):
the LA Dodgers in sync and down the Green, petrosin Money,
Trosin Money, Rose in Money, Rosneys Holiday. Welcome to Burger Clown,
happy food for happy people. May I help you.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Evan Metrus some money on a Monday. Happy to be
here for the next three hours three to six pm
before we hand it over to Dodgers on deck and
then the Gallpin Motors broadcast booth. We'll have first pitch
just after seven pm. Gavin Stone on the mound. The
Dodgers come home victorious, having one two of three in
Saint Louis. They extend the lead in the West.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
That should be happier, Matt. You're not very happy got
the two of three that you asked for.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Very happy when two of it they come back. They're
up three on the Padres four on the Diamondbacks. Who
struggled with the Rays, and a reminder that when the
sky feels as though it is falling after splitting a
series with the Brewers, perhaps there is an opportunity for
them to bounce back. Although I will say I was
I almost fired off a couple tweets in a drunken
state on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Oh really, Matt drunk tweeting? Yeah, why oh why do
you know?
Speaker 2 (01:28):
You're pulling starters again with low pitch counts? And it
just started driving me crazy. I'm like, this is this
is why they stink, this is their demise. Stop pulling
these freaking players when they when they're at seventy pitches
or eighty pitches. It's getting ridiculous. They build up no endurance,
(01:48):
it doesn't work. All of their developed arm talent is
dust because of how they've treated it. And I just
started getting all, am, I.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Well you got mad. Kris Kershaw only got seventy pitches
and that may a you angry.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
No the Saturday game that they lost.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Okay, so Kershaw was yesterday and I was still only
seventy and I was like, you didn't you didn't grab
your you didn't grab for your phone.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
I wasn't drunk. Yeah, I wasn't. Wasn't wasn't drinking like
I was on on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
So what made you mad Saturday?
Speaker 2 (02:17):
And so I think Saturday was the uh was the
Bobby Miller? Ah, you know, pulling Bobby Miller? And I
don't know who knows what the hell I was upset about,
but I was just upset.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Did you did you write the tweet and delete it?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
I did?
Speaker 1 (02:33):
I did, so you were just one finger away.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Oh I know what it was. I'm sorry. I've screwed
this all up, and I've just knocked the freaking show
off the rails. At the start, it was Friday night, Yeah,
Friday night. I was loaded. And it was when they
ripped Robleski out of there in the fifth when he
had only thrown seventy nine pitches, and it's like, really,
it just got through a scoreless fifth Inny or he
just gave up one run, big deal, get him back
(02:56):
out there instead, you're going to dust the bullpen for
the entire weekend. And Grove came out, remember, and gave
up a couple runs and they closed the gap, and
I was, yeah, that's what it was. I'm sorry, I've
ruined the show.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
What about Saturday. You didn't get upset on Saturday at all.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Saturday, I think I don't think I watched the game.
I think I wasn't because I had the That's right,
because Saturday I worked. I had the football game. Well,
I was up at sofar all day, all night basically,
so I didn't see it.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
And Sunday, even though Kershaw was out after seventy pitches,
I was still upset. I was up. The game was
very much in question all the way to the double
play that ended it. You weren't drunk enough to grab
for your phone like a drunk gun slinger in a
saloon when somebody knocks their.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Bat, exactly right. I was convinced that Kopek was going
to blow it in the ninth after Hudson gave up,
because I was sitting at l rang cheto that at
that time, drinking, having already put down a couple of beers,
drinking more, and I was like, you know what, he's
going to blow it. They need him. He's pitched too
much ash, isn't there?
Speaker 1 (04:00):
But not enough beer is to make pathetic, not enough
beers to make you tweet.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
No. Friday was the I've hadn't way too much to
drink moment.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Yes, tim velocity down for Michael Kopek yesterday, Matt know what?
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Third and four days right, four days?
Speaker 3 (04:14):
He was only hit in ninety five, ninety six, ninety seven.
He wasn't blown over one hundred.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
You let Kershaw, you know, pitch the seventh at seventy
pitches and you can roll out Evan Phillips and Danie
Hudson and give Copek the night off right.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Right, And unless you picked steam, unless you pickled yourself
all weekend, you might want to have a modello today.
It is a modello meets a lot of Monday on
the Petrosen Money Show. Modella remind you that it's not
a real meets a lot of it's not made with modelo.
For Modello is a reward for those with a fighting spirit.
(04:50):
They are good.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Thank you, joy, A lot of us are so good
to you.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Modello the mark of a fighter, the wish, the mark
of an internet fighter.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Do you like lighty maries?
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Fight you right now?
Speaker 2 (05:04):
I had a m that was tasty. There is something
rewarding about typing that all out and then going now.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
You know what, just showing you what how much control
I have It's like a drunk going home and pouring
a drink and not touching it instead.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
I just started yelling at Bess in the text.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
So so sick of this.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
I can't take it anymore. Drive me crazy. Oh, their
young arms are dusted and broken.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
You might want to enjoy a modello while you're watching
the Dodgers take on the Mariners tonight. Dodgers on deck
at six with Tim Kott this first pitch at seven ten,
and we have a very special guest that you might
want to have a modello and fight back some tears.
The Great Justin Turner is back in town tonight. He
got moved to the Mariners in the middle of the
(05:50):
season and the Blue Jays fire sale because they suck
you suck well, they didn't get Otani, so they sent
Justin Turner all the way out to the West coast
right when him and Courtney with a K had a baby,
baby bo and he is now with the Mariners. He
is visiting Dodger Stadium for the first time since he
was not brought back, which upset a lot of Dodger fans,
(06:13):
of course, one of our favorite Dodgers. Of course, the
foundation and all the things Justin Turner is going to
be on in our final hour and it should be
a great night for him at Dodger Stadium with the fan.
I'll tell you what's amazing as all these fans.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Yeah, Dave just tweeted out first guy taking early BP
if you want to follow him at the real Underscore
DV on Twitter. It's Justin Turner, first guy out there
taking some reps with the very familiar backwards baseball cap
at the very unfamiliar s instead of the interlock in LA.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yeah, it looks a little weird and we are going
to talk to JT. The last time he came on
was over the summer, last summer after no no last
not the summer, the off season. I always think of
the summer as the off season, the off season right
after the Dodgers signed Otani, and it was David Vasse
and myself and JT was talking about how the Dodgers
(07:07):
got show. Hey, Jenny flip the market. Thanks allowed for
coming out, JT. J and know this it is a
special week. Matt's gonna be out on Friday because the
Chargers are traveling, but our final final PETRS and money
stop of our summer tour is Thursday. It is by
(07:27):
far the most popular one because it has the most
to offer, and we have a lot to offer every
time we go out, but this one is very especial.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Final Final, and we love our dear friends at Vans,
in particular Steve van Dorn. They host us at their
place of work, at their place of business every year
for our finale. It is a beautiful outdoor, legitimate amphitheater.
They've got concrete bleachers you can sit. We got the
Fast Times band gonna play. They're incredible, they were there
(08:00):
last year. Guys could not be more kind to us.
They sell out shows all around town. Canyon Club, Whiskey,
I think they do Friday nights or Wednesday nights at Whiskeys,
I think they do. And they do this for us.
We appreciate them. So you got live music. We've got
our friends at Blue Ice Vodka pour and drinks, our
friends at Brewery X Beers food. Steve van Doorn is
(08:22):
going to be on the grill, so we've got all
that's covered, and then of course be all the great prizes.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
The prizes are crazy and they've grown almost to an
embarrassing American level of excess platform because sure there's tickets,
Dodgers tickets. We'd be fools not to have those Chargers
Raiders tickets, Minshoe Versus, Herbert Chargers, Chiefs Tickets, Herbert Mahomes Today,
(09:00):
two Night's day at the MGM Resorts property of your
choice with one hundred dollars food voucher, one hundred dollars
gas card, show off your pool side only with MGM Rewards.
Visit MGM rewards dot com for details. You know we're
giving away a TV matt.
Speaker 2 (09:18):

But it's enjoy.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Tonight, Ludence says.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Steve Vandor is not just hosting us. He's giving away
a year of vans.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
A year of van shoes, twelve pair, and a four
pack of tickets to our private iHeartRadio party at Disney's
California Adventure. That's when you know they're just like given
everything away.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Hey guys, we're gonna give you access to something you
can't buy. You cannot buy tickets to Disney's California Adventure.
The night we have our private party that creeps, I
believe until like either midnight or one am. There might
be midnight. They keep it open.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
And it's hard to say, Matt that the final final
prize on our prize list is not the most impressive.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
No, the five nights day at the Hilton Hawaiian Village
should be the grand prize. Right there, white sand Beach
of Waikiki with the five pools, the Paradise Pool with
the water slide longest in all of Waikiki yet as
much as you would enjoy that, and a loh Hawaiian
vacation ha ha. There of course is the grand prize.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Cash eleven thousand dollars casheesh from your Southern californ Toyota dealers,
the eleven k Toyota cash giveaway. They'll be finalists from
every tour stop, some online weirdos, and a final finalist
for the final final and that is going to be
(11:16):
the final prize that we give away, and I hope
it goes a little smoother than last year. And let's
not forget our many sponsors two Boots, two Boots. You
know we can't always get things away smoothly. Yeah, things
can get hard. Divorce has caused, a divorce from the
show has been caused with our grand prize. A guy
(11:38):
that forgot to turn the key happened. There's been a
lot of trouble over the years. I don't know which
how to rate them as far as which was the
worst key. The key was bad, but that wasn't our fault.
Turn the key. Yeah, turn the key. If I don't see,
if I don't see the door pop, then you don't win.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Put it into the door and it's magically going to
start right.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
You can't just soak your way into pregnancy. No, you
gotta move, I mean you gotta move. If the door
did opened, the door did it open? For God's sakes, Matt,
we didn't have true penetration. And we want to thank
our sponsors, sweet James Bergener who just at the last
second could not get up from under the dozens of
(12:21):
bodies of naked women to get to the show. On Thursday.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Yeah, he's the second from the right in the naked
pyramid pile, and so if he leaves, the whole thing collapses.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
He is the vanilla in the orgy parfait. He's not
getting he's not getting up for the bottom. Sweet James
at eight hundred and nine million or Sweet James dot com.
We mentioned your southern California Toyota dealers. Welcome to the
Petrosen Money Summer Tour. Visit your local dealer or Toyota
dot com. Shoe Aotani not driving in runs but still
(12:54):

power him to a more allance to Atack Matt.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Yeah, big thank you to Eto and Oyocha, not Ocha
whatever the hell Bert was trying to give us at
the Tarantula Hill. Uh, they've been kind enough to give
us green tea for all who want to consume it
at all of the tour stops. That won't change. They'll
have a big old bucket out there, ice down for
you to keep yourself cool and get a little bit
of that punch from their caffeine shoe haal Tony loves it,
(13:21):
he drinks it, and it led to the first forty
forty season in Dodger history. Doctor Pepper, dask, you've hit
the big time. One of a kind of taste, Yeah,
one of a kind of connection. Dr Pepper, it's a
Pepper thing.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
What do we get for our Doctor Pepper sponsorship? Like,
that's a big sponsor. Caate's like, what do we get?
Do they they in one of those BCS commercials or anything?
Like what do we get?
Speaker 3 (13:44):
You guys are going to be in the BCS. Doctor
Brian Bosworth's gonna arrest you guys for being bad fans.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Resident of fan Town. Yeah, we had to get sucked
into the portal idea. Can we uh, whoever the AE is,
can they reach out see if we can like be
the you know the lawn cair dudes in Fantown or
maybe we're painting a curb or directing traffic doing something
right something, Yeah, you know, taking trash out of a
community trash?
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Can I haven't even gotten a six pack, let alone
a twelve or like, what do we get from doctor
Pepper for this kid?
Speaker 3 (14:15):
I like to think you guys would be like on
the radio as they're driving around Statesville and these guys
on the radio are just ooxious about this year's team.
Great call, and they come and arrest you guys or
like kill you or something. I don't know, Well, that
seems a little aggressive, but yeah, that's maybe just talk
about ass on the radio.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
I didn't know that police brutality was such an issue
in Statesville. Berry's Tickets, Berry's Tickets dot Com. Blue Ice
Vodka America's number one potato vodka, my potato eating friend.
Right here in the USA is where it's made. And
we're gonna have that. We're gonna have Blue Eyes Vodka
for the fans.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Yes, blue Eyes Vodka, Brewery xper. We got drinks for you.
Steve Van Dorn's grilling for you. So we've got your
cover on that front. Doctor Pepperoo, I mean, look at us.
I mean we got mix we got mixers, and we
got liquors. Prize Picks, I mean we got every vice

Use the code k C for a first depositive match

almost too a million, and then chef Marito, the chef
is in you. So we have a heck of a
show set up. We know Steve Van Dorn's going to
(15:29):
be there and Genie Buss and Genie Buss. Jenny Buss
is coming out. You all thought she wasn't going to
show up first. It would have been the first summer
tour in years that she didn't make her appearance. Uh,
not the case. She's going to come south to Orange
County and see us on Thursday. I was gonna say, Tim,
what else do we have? I mean, you know you're
(15:50):
you're the mastermind behind all of these things and how
these shows lay out. Genie Buss, who's been in a
soundproof room and hasn't heard the show all summer long,
thank god, and whoever else. Steve Van Dorn.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
It's a three hour show. Jeanie Bus is gonna be
there in the first hour with you guys. So we're
going to the giveaway coming up at five thirty on Thursday.
The eleven thousand dollars Winter so to be a busy show.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
So Genie Bus and Steve Van Dorn's.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Gee and Fast Times the band.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
And Petro some money. I mean, it's a well, yeah,
it's a.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Well yeah, but you know, I mean, but you know what,
though you've said this kind of stuff, I just want
to say, you've said this stuff in the past, and
we show up and sit down and our ass doesn't
even hit the chair, and it's like, here's Willy Gault.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Right, you know, that's the Rand band, that's the Steve
van dorn Fast right. Well, people like hey christianusois here
put them on. Hey about Hey Willy go.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Don't be like the Pac twelve and get caught flat
footed here while everybody else is making moves for us.
And that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
I have not been told that anything like that is happening,
but it could change between now on Thursday, and if
it does, I will be letting you guys know.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
All right, well, yeah, no, it's fair. I just I'm
just saying there's been a lot of fluctuation at these
over the years, a lot of fluctuation. Last year we
had a big executive there for our big party. We
put on a show like there was okay. Two years
(17:23):
ago we had a big executive there for our big party.
Huge We put on a big show and she was like,
this is the greatest thing ever, I'm going to give
you guys some money so you can really do it
big in the desert, and we were like awesome. And
then weeks later she was removed as the CEO. And
then last year we had another big executive there and
(17:46):
he was like, oh my god, you guys do this
all without funding. I'm going to give you guys a
bunch of money.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
And then what happened.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Almost immediately after that happened, he was promoted in the
company or something, moved to another.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Position he was he was immediately gone.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Every time some big executives comes to our event at
Vans and says, this is the great event, greatest event ever.
I'm gonna give you guys some funding. We go back.
It's like how many days since our last accident? We
go back to zero. Yeah, it's track to zero, it's
forward what happens to us, And it's amazing. It's like, wow,
(18:23):
we did all that, Like Sisyphus, we pushed the rock
up the hill only to have it roll back down again.
So Tim, I guess that's what I'm asking, is there
gonna be somebody there that's gonna plug us into the
money pipeline. And iHeartRadio to get us some sweet Elsagundo
Little League T shirts or something.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
Fingers crossed. The contender shows up, the opponent. The opponent
shows up.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Now he's already been to one or two.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
I think those are both wrong. I think it's the fighter.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
He's been to one.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
He came to the Yeah, he was supposed to come
to the last one, but did not.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Did not.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
He told you guys he was coming to El Segundo City.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
But he is never prompt us us money.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
No, he tells us how much he appreciates the show.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Right, So, two executives ago, the lady went to the
Vans thing and was like, that's it, blank check. You
guys are the future. Yeah, I'm gonna make you well
and let you lead the way, show you all the
beauty you possess inside. Like it was a great moment.
It gave us a sense of pride and made it easier.
(19:24):
Oh yeah it did. And then the next year I
was on my way in and I had Van's clothes on,
and I was with Don Martin and said executive and
I said, and Don like, look at those Vans closed.
I was like, yeah, I go buy new clothes. You know,
before this event, every time do you expend some I
was like, am I allowed to now? And the boss,
(19:47):
the other boss, was like, yeah, expense soever. You guys
should get a lot more money for this. I mean,
this is great. And then we were like doing the
show and working it and pumping it out, and the
boss was like, you're gonna get more money for this.
You guys are gonna see. Things are gonna change. I
could feel it. And then he got transferred to some
bigger job and our money went back to zero. Yeah,
(20:10):
we started back at one. Like Brian McKnight, what do
you think.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
The chances are I get reimbursed for the one hundred
twenty nine dollars and four cents I paid for all
of the merit badges and all that sort of stuff
from the brewery.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Action, especially for that show. I'm gonna say zero, because
that show is a net loss because we got we
got ejected from from campsite.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
The marshall, the camp marshal or whatever, the ranger came
out and moved.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Us, said hundred and twenty eight dollars four cents.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
You guys can't fape around the campfire like you do that.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
My laughing is gonna be the same emoji you get
back when you submitted for me.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
So, all right, I'm gonna I'm gonna submit it just
to see. I think you should, yeah, just to see.
So I think it was such a that. You know,
you buy prizes, the listeners, you try to deliver great
sports talk, you buy closet vans, We buy merit badges
and Commie caps and tank tops to entertain the people.
(21:12):
I'd like to think there's at least a one hundred
twenty nine dollars four cent budget for that.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Well, I'm gonna started expensing all the hats I've given away,
over right, I gotta say, Matt, you know, the point
I'm trying to make is that this party is such
a big party, it's such an awesome party that it
is triggered at least two high level What did you
call him, Matt the other day?
Speaker 2 (21:41):
C sweet? Yeah, the C sweet sweet executives.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
The C suite executives, people that have like Katy Perry
on speed dial, right, C sweet executives to be.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Like she was in studio here earlier today. It's funny
you mentioned her name.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Katy Perry was yes, I thought she was quitting American idol.
Wasn't she sure what she was doing, but there was
a big to do. She was in the billiard.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
It was like, oh my gosh, she berries. She breastfed
the fifth floor.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
Oh god, oh god.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
All right, I'm in liing, I'm hungry?
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Is that the opponent?
Speaker 1 (22:19):
All I'm saying is this is such a big party
that c suitet level executives have been so inspired by
it over the years that they're like, that's it. You
guys are getting the funding you deserve, like we're like
NASA or something. And then both years those executives have
been chopped at.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Well, we should have somebody shadow them and slap the
drinks out of their hand. Why, I think they begin
to embrace a party spirit. They're not used to that.
The executive, Yes, at least one of them has.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
So you're saying, when the executive says they're gonna give
us money, that's the death mell in their career.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
I think they start, you know a little little, you
know a little of this, a little of that day.
What do you know, Blue ice rodes here are you doing, Tommy?
Great to meet you heard you on the Petro some money?
Sure you sign a fantastic give me one of them
Huckleberry lemonades.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Right well, I mean, look, if there's a sweet level,
c suite level executives should be able to handle their
liquor and keep their job after they promise us money.
I am like the leprechaun chasers in Memphis. I want
the gold, give me the gold. I want to go, don't.
I don't care if they're tipsy or not. I want
(23:39):
the next executive that offers us money to remain in
their seat. And we'll be back. We're gonna talk to
David Vassy. There's a lot of moves with the Dodgers.
You don't have to worry about the c suite executives.
You just have to show up and have a great time.
We have no funding and we throw the greatest parties
every year. And yeah, we're about one hundred and twenty
(24:00):
in the hole for Matt's camp gear. He's pretty proud
of it.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
I'm not proud.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
I'm pissed my money. Dammit, it worked pretty well. We'll
be back with more great sports talk. David Vasse will
be along and we will discuss the latest moves with
the Dodgers and their series win in Saint Louis.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
I pretty much got it all of the way in
the first segment. You know, the summer tour is Thursday,
Vance Headquarters three to six pm. We went through all
the prizes, went through all the sponsors. Now it's on you.
Set your schedule see us three to six and remember
it is not Friday, but Thursday.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
We're looking at you, executives. It's right, it's on you now.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Thursday, Thursday, Thursday, three to six pm, Vance Headquarters, final
stop at the twenty twenty four Pmsummer Tour.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
They offered the Petrosen Money Show. What We've got to
transfer that guy Ti David Vase the Home of the
Dodgers with an inside look at the Dodgers. This is
the Vass Report with David Vasse, people coming, people going,
afternoon roster moves, injuries, and Justin Turner at Dodger Stadium
(25:18):
for the first time in a different uni. David Vase,
our hero who just completed about a week of awesome,
over a week of great sideline work on television, Spectrum
Sports and at LA. Back on the radio tonight for
Dodger Talking Dodger Clubhouse. The best reporter out there at
the real Underscore DV of course, MLB Network and Spectrum
(25:41):
in here on AMPI seventy LA Sports on your Southern
California Toyota Dealers Celebrity Hotline, Dave, seems like a lot
of excitement out there today.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
Yeah, a lot of excitement, a lot of anticipation, and
a little bit of disappointment. A lot of things are
happening here. Let's just start with Austin Barnes, who caught
yesterday's gin. Caught all nine innings despite suffering a fracture
in his big left toe in the third inning when
he took a foul ball. He showed it to me
after the game yesterday, bloody, bandaged and thought it was fractured.
(26:14):
He got confirmation of that today. He is headed to
the injured list. Hunter Fiducca is here at Dodgers Stadium.
He is going to be the backup catcher for at
least the next ten days. Barnes told me that he
could catch, she could play, but he's going to be fine.
But the Dodgers don't want to play short, especially with
a backup catcher. So that's the first move. Second move
(26:38):
is the Dodgers are going to activate Max Munsey and
Tommy Edmund Today, I expect both to be in the
starting lineup. Despite not seeing the lineup yet. We saw
Nick on medsbag's packed. That is what I speculated two
nights ago he was going to be designated for assignment
and also Andy Pajes was packing up his Wow, he
(27:01):
is likely to be optioned to Oklahoma City to make
room for those two guys. Want to move to Freddie.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Freeman, let's move.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
Freddie Freeman out here early at two point thirty doing
his infield drills with Dino Ebel. The bandage on his
right middle finger was significantly less than what I saw
throughout the game and post game yesterday. He never even
came out to attempt to try to do his pregame
drills with Dino, so that was a good sign. I
(27:30):
asked him whether or not he's tried to grip a
bat yet. He said that he has not, but gave
me a big grin that maybe he has. Would not
really tip his hand, but was out here with Dodgers
trainer Thomas Albert. I'm sure trying to convince him that
he is able to play tonight. So it feels like
Freddie is trying to do everything in his power to
(27:52):
be in the starting lineup tonight.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
All right, Dave, two starters that have had a real
rough goal of it. If any of them have put
together a solid start yet this season. What do you
think the future is for Walker Bueller, who will pitch
tomorrow and for Bobby Miller, who was scheduled to pitch Friday.
Because you've talked about Yamamoto, what's the deal with Tyler Glass? Now, Like,
what do you think we're looking at with those two
spots in the starting rotation?
Speaker 4 (28:16):
Well, Glass, now you know it's so complicated. Tim Cage
could let you hear our interview with him over the
weekend just how this all came about. He threw his
bullpen session, felt fine in Milwaukee, and then the day
after was playing catch and he said he felt something
in his right throwing elbow, and that's when he alerted
the training staff, Hey, I'm feeling something. And then the
(28:40):
training staff, once you tell them you're feeling something and
you're pitching elbow, they're not going to say, all right,
you'll be good to go Saturday. They're going to be
extra cautious. And that's the reason why they put him
on the il. Despite Glass now saying he's fought not
to go on the il because his elbow is feeling
fine as recently as Friday. But once you pull that
(29:03):
fire alarm, there's no going back on a situation like that.
Glassnew will be back by the end of this home
stand ready for the Big four game showdown in the
desert against the Arizona Diamondbacks at the end of this month.
And as far as Yamamoto goes, he flew all the
way to Saint Louis to throw seventeen pitches of a
stimulated game, and Dave Roberts said the heat in humidity
(29:26):
was the reason why he did not go back out
there for a second inning. So the plan is for
Yamamoto to throw two more stimulated games and then have
a conversation about whether or not he is going to
pitch a rehab game or just be activated in the
Dodger rotation.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Crazy amount of information flying around from David Vase, who's
this guy you're talking to on the pregame show, Ben Casparius.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
Well, here's the trickle down effect of Glassnew saying his
elbow is barking Bobby Miller, who probably would not have
earned a start and was forced to start on Saturday,
even though he's not been pitching well in the miners.
He goes short in that game, the Dodgers have to
use Brent Honeywell for forty pitches and then need a
fresh arm to give coverage to Kershaw and anybody else
(30:16):
this week. So Brent Honeywell, who is pitching exceptionally well,
the Dodgers did not want to let him go, but
because of the circumstances of Miller not going deep into
the game and having to use him, there was a
roster crunch. They needed a fresh arm, and Honeywell was
a casualty of that. Honeywell was designated for assignment despite
(30:38):
having an ERA at just two thirty eight. Out of
the bullpen, the Dodgers had to call up one of
their top pitching prospects, Ben Casparius from Oklahoma City. He
is coveraging the bullpen for a Walker Bueller's start tomorrow
or whatever could go sideways here this homestand so Ben Casparius,
(30:58):
who is having a really nice season, is in the
Dodger bullpen to give them length and pitch in the
role Brent Honeywell did so well. And my understanding is
Honeywell was crushed because he was really thriving in this
Dodger environment.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Yeah, as he should be. It's upsetting, as you said, Dad, Look,
one thing that to lose a great arm, another thing
to lose a guy that basically wears a dicky, has
a flow with a sweet silver chain and a freaking screwball.
And that's what they got to lose because they don't
want to let Kershaw pitch more than seventy pitches or
freaking Gavin Stone more than eighty pitches. I mean, so
(31:33):
much of this I don't expect you to answer this,
but so much of this just seems self sabotage. So
many times these starters get the hook early and guys
are forced to come in. And now you've got a
bullpen that's gassed, and you gotta got Honeywell, who I
would assume one hundred percent is going to get cleaned right.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Oh yeah, the Red Sox are already all over him.
There's reports that the Red Sox are chomping at the
bit for Honeywell to land to him. And in case
you missed it, Selcks are signing America's pitcher Rich Hill
to a minor league contract as well.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
Justin Turner is going to be on our show at
about five twenty five. We're all happy whenever Justin Turner's around, Dave.
He was so great to us and really the most
important Dodger I think, ever since the station started working
with the Dodgers, he was the most inviting and the
most engaging and the most interactive. We're going to talk
(32:28):
to him. What's it like seeing him out there? And
it kind of feels like a long time coming.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
You know, It's funny, Petros. The first person I saw
when I peeked over from behind center field on the
reserve level when I walked in was Justin Turner in
the batting cage, and you cannot mistake his swinging, his
laid kick, everything about it. And once I got down here,
he was wearing a King Griffy Junior Mariner's shirt and
(32:54):
he is really happy to be back here. He's in
great shape. I'm still going strong. He's going to be
at first base tonight for the Mariners. He's actually going
to hold a press conference at four to ten today
here in the dugouts at Dodgers Stadium, and the Dodgers
are more than likely going to play an eighties like
montage before first pitch to celebrate Justin Turner returning to
(33:19):
Dodgers Stadium for the first time since the twenty two NLDS.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
Going to be great, going to be an incredible night.
We can't wait to catch up with him. We'll let
you go catch up with him at DAVE. Obviously going
to be a busy, celebratory night. Don't know what the
ticket sales look like, but I would assume they spiked
once they realized Justin Turner was going to make his
return for the first time since leaving the Dodgers a
couple seasons ago to go play for the Red Sox
and now back with the Mariners. Ought to be pretty special.
I would assume it'll be a heck of a standing
(33:46):
ovation and a lot of emotion for those that are
lucky enough to be there.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
Yeah, and I can't wait to talk to Justin tomorrow
on the pregame show, just to get his thoughts on
the emotions of tonight. So great to have him back here.
It looked like he was not going to be able
to make it back here because the Blue Jays were
not on the schedule to come to Dodgers Stadium. The
Dodgers went there last this year. The Dodgers went to
Boston last year, So him getting treated to the is
(34:13):
somewhat of a godsend in baseball senses for him to
have this return home tribute.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
Wonderful stuff, Dave. And a great week of a hard work.
I know you guys were delayed coming home last night too,
but a great week.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
Four hours four hours delayed.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
That's four hours in Saint Louis. Look at the positive.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Yeah, well there's four hours that you didn't. You could
have gone on the slide, you know, Dave, and you
did it.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
Maybe next year. I didn't want to take away from
the Pennant Race in the NL West.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
Okay, all right, well there'll be an excuse every year.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Tight of it a Queen Latifa jumpsuits?
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Yeah it is, it is tight.
Speaker 4 (34:49):
Well, thank you, David, Thank you guys.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
I don't know if Queen Latifa did she go on
to Ozembic. Is her jumpsuits still tight? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (34:59):
I think she's been pretty then for a while, right, right,
And she did the CBS cop show Equalize that exactly right.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
You guys didn't see her at the Olympics. She was
all like every day at all the events.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
Oh, so maybe it's an NBC show.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
Queen Latifa's there. I kind of missed star f and Vic,
but we don't have him today.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
No, he tried, Yes he did. What was he looking
to do? Well? Didn't he do the end of the
Rogan and Rodney show that ended a minute early?
Speaker 1 (35:30):
He did?
Speaker 5 (35:30):
But you know he's like, is the Comer's going to
be open today?
Speaker 1 (35:34):
Y'all?
Speaker 5 (35:36):
Not today, Vic?
Speaker 2 (35:37):
No, not today?
Speaker 1 (35:40):
We got how is your weekend? I know about Friday? Max, Well,
like Bob just said it to Modella, meets you a
lot of Monday on the Pettersen Money Show. We also
have our big event a van on Thursday. Looking forward
(36:02):
to that three o'clock the Van's headquarters. So many giveaways,
so much to offer. And the third thing to promote
is Justin Turner is going to join us in about
an hour and a half and we'll talk to him
about his first return to Dodger Stadium since twenty twenty two.
(36:28):
M My goodness, But since it's Monday, it's time for
how is your week I do the weekend?
Speaker 2 (36:37):
Is mind your day? How was your weekend?
Speaker 1 (36:42):
Well, Matt, you figured out what the Dodgers were up to?
Speaker 2 (36:45):
Yeah, I mentioned Friday, we had an early show and
I got drunk. There was a band playing up the
street at Marny's and some friends were there at like five,
So the wife and I went there and I got
sideways and it was embarrassing, and thankfully I deleted tweets
before I sent him out because the dodger were angering me.
And where were you sideways? I think just there? It was.
(37:05):
It was a band that had like a three hour set.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
To Marney, like, listen, Matt, it's me and Marnie.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
It's still That's what's so weird. It's still Glory Days.
They just changed the name of It's the same menu,
same bartenders, same bands, and we call it Marnie's.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
Barney says, you gotta go, Mat.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Yeah, I was like, I told Carrie's like, we got
to get out of here. I was like, I can't
do another drink these freaking because you know, they do
the whole german Stein level beers and you've got like
a gallon of beer every time someone buys around. And yeah,
I was We're a drunk show and I'm a drunk
and that's what it was.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (37:38):
Saturday went surfing to surf Off that hangover, had breakfast
with Peyton and the family. A whole day pretty much
spent it so far though chargers rams.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
And another exciting contest.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
It was man Boy that was scintillating. It's great to
be back on the radio. Only gave Peyton and her
boyfriend and another friend to ride home after the game,
and I'll tell you we had lucky. I had to
park in a lot behind instead of the one I
normally park in and somehow just stepped in it because
Olivia Rodrigo was at the form. Sebastian Manuscula was at
(38:11):
the end to it, and there was a UFC event
at the Cossum and I heard people that went out
the other way had this basically sat on prairie for
like an hour and did nothing. So thankfully.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
At meantime, Mayor Butts is sitting behind his desk and
getting a freaking h snoob a lubel.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
We went to Alberto Junior for dinner to have our
own snooball ubeles that were delicious and a tip of
the cap to the gentleman that was running the door
of the restaurant was closed, but we were waiting for
our food and it was like, hey, can I come
in and buy a modella? I really need a beer
because I'm a drunk, and he was able to let
me in so I could drink a beer while we
were waiting for the takeout. Sunday was great. Was in
the water from probably six am to noon because went
(38:50):
and served with some pals, and then Peyton wanted to
go to the beach, so we went there until about
noon and seal and that was a lot of fun.
Actually went sponge and grabbed the fins and the sponge
and went out there for a little bit with her.
Well finally exactly, and then Ludwig's came over, went to
lunch with them, and yeah, that was pretty much the weekend.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
All right, Well, Kates, what about you? You worked a
lot too drunk.
Speaker 3 (39:12):
I basically worked all weekend. Friday night when you guys
were getting drunk, I was here with Colin me. You guys,
I'm just assuming you got drunk. I will get to that.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
I don't even leave the house, right, but you drink
and drink, well that's yeah, but not at Marni's. Marnie
doesn't have to give me the hook like Donald Duck
on stage.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
Get out of here embarrassment.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
I walk upstairs that I get in bed and put
on my sleep mask.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
Was here till nine thirty on Friday night doing post game.
Saturday more of the same Dodger pre game. Then I
raced my way down to Culver City to do Raiders
pre half and post was there until eleven thirty at night.
Went home and the wife had just started a movie.
It was midnight and she started a movie on Netflix
called The Foreigner with Jackie Chan. Oh yeah, I got
(39:54):
sucked into Zach versus the Irish Mob. Pierce Brosnan plays
the former leader or now good guy for the i R.
And Jackie Chan's daughter gets killed by a bomb and
just starts freaking out, and Jackie Chang goes after everybody.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
Remember oh he's.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
Camo laying down in the dirt of the forest and
then just you know, with the stick, just stabbing people
on the leg and then twisted their necks to kill him.
It was fantastic. I didn't go to bed till two
thirty in the morning, had to get up Sunday Dodgers
pre and needless to say, I was tired. I came
home and napped for two hours. Sunday my wife woke
me up and said, let's go get a massage. So
(40:34):
we went to a local place here in Burbank and
got a massage. So they came home last night.
Speaker 1 (40:39):
A couple's massage.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
It's nothing fancy. It's not like playing their naked next
to each other.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
Right.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
They were out of rooms to do that, so that
was the old like, you know, we have to wear
like shorts and a shirt.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
Checked the curvy Korean box.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
That that room was unfortunately filled. A Sunday night apparently
is a big night for people to go get massages.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
Did she did you have a lady and she had
a dude? Did you both have dudes? Did you both have.
Speaker 3 (41:04):
I request a lady every time, and she requested the
dude absolutely, and.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
She'd was she feeling it?
Speaker 2 (41:11):
Yeah? Was he really feeling her?
Speaker 1 (41:13):
Was he like?
Speaker 3 (41:14):
I don't know, man, I had I had my face covered,
you know if you watch those videos, and I had
a woman giving me a massage on my legs and
my arms and my hes got.
Speaker 1 (41:22):
A new room massage.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
Uh, usually we get the rooms, but those were again,
those were filled, and so we had to go to
the other one.
Speaker 2 (41:29):
So I just did it on the sidewalk.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
Yeah, Korean wack house.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
Hey, hey, hey, hey, what hey, keep a glossy Ronnie.
Speaker 5 (41:37):
Tim had a nice weekend.
Speaker 1 (41:39):
Saturday.
Speaker 5 (41:39):
I was up early to go get a haircut. I
went to the grocery store afterwards, picked up a couple
of breakfast burritos on the way home for myself and
my wife from Norms the Great Mom and Pop Greasy
Spoon on Magnolia Street and Burbank. Saturday afternoon, we went
to celebrate my wife's uncle's eightieth birthday.
Speaker 1 (41:58):
Happy Birthday.
Speaker 5 (42:00):
Uncle Caesar had a family party in the city of Glendale.
That was really nice. It was good to see family members.
Sunday kept it quiet, just doing stuff around the house,
getting ready for the work week. I did watch the
Dodgers in just a wee bit of preseason football. But
Sunday night I did get caught up and watching a
kiss biography that kept me up a little later than
(42:22):
I usually would be up on a Sunday night.
Speaker 3 (42:24):
But Pierce Broston and that too against.
Speaker 1 (42:27):
Jackie Chan kills a freely at the end.
Speaker 5 (42:29):
No he wasn't, but oh boy, jeez, I mean what
a documentary was? There were two parts to it, and yeah,
I was up rather late watching that and a little
bleary eye today, but to nevertheless, it was good to watch.
That was my weekend?
Speaker 1 (42:42):
Guys, what about you? Petro?
Speaker 3 (42:43):
Hey, by the way, do you guys know Pierce Brosnan
was Irish? I didn't know the entire movie. I'm like,
this guy's Irish accent is so bad. And then my
wife's like, no, he's from Ireland.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
I was like, I thought he was English from Ireland
because he was James Bond. I think everybody just yea figures.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
But he was a weak ass Bond He's from Ireland,
had this over the top Irish accent the entire take.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
Tim Dalton, Yeah, Petros, how was your weekend? License revoked?
My weekend? Well, certainly not as exciting as getting booted
out of Marnie's or celebrated or having a double naked
massage with my wife, or on the sidewalk celebrating Uncle Caesar. Uh.
(43:30):
Of course I went to yoga. My sister's uh yoga
studio was closed for some kind of maintenance thing, and
that might have been Friday, but anyway, CALLI had a
soccer tournament in Lakewood, the LKWD, right on the border
(43:50):
between Lakewood and Long Beach. So I spent most of
my weekend in the Lakewood and Oh. Between games on Saturday,
we went to Calaveris and downtown Bellflower where I ordered
a paloma and it arrived at the table and it
was like black with black va. I'll send a picture
(44:13):
to you, Matt. It was really it was interesting drink,
you know. I was like, that's a paloma, like see
I see. The next day we went back to Lakewood
for Sunday for another game, and my father went with us.
I brought my dad and like you know, stuffed him
into the car and helped him out and set up
his chair and all that. And on the way home,
(44:35):
he took us to one of my favorite restaurants and
I haven't been to in a long time. Opened twenty
four hours in Wilmington, right on pH Los Tres cons
the Three Pigs, and that is a place of realness
that I've always appreciated. So we had a nice succulent
Mexican meal. Succulent Mexican meal. Will you receive my limp, sir, sir?
(45:04):
So that was that was pretty much by weekend. Oh,
and I've studied. I did some study it up on
Arizona State and Wyoming starting to look at my college
football assignments. But right now, we're gonna go to break
and we're gonna be back and we're gonna do your
(45:25):
word of the day. We're gonna do your number and
your song, and then we're gonna talk to well. Matt
will do the top story of the day. Matt will
do the top story. We'll do a little college football
Justin Turner in our final hour as the centerpiece of
the show, what's the matter with you? Stay with us,
(45:46):
And for God's sakes, when you're at Marny's.
Speaker 2 (45:49):
Hang off, he's drunk, take him home.
Speaker 1 (45:53):
Get him another Stein. Happy birthday, Uncle Caesar. I'm sorry
about that, Pierced. We didn't know you were from Ireland.
