I was ready to call Wyoming airs of his tate
like last Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
By the way, Now, I don't think I can sit
and split any more hairs, but I'm ready to go.
You know the transfer from New Mexico State that plays
linebacker for Arizona State, Keishawn Elliott. Yeah, was on a
state championship four by two hundred team in Missouri out
of high school. Wow. Yeah, last Tuesday. Ready to call
(02:19):
the game last Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
You'll get that in If it's thirty five to three
Arizona State in the fourth course, that.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Ain't gonna happen, brother, not with my pokes. We don't
take that. Do you think you can just sit there
and beat up on the cowboys? You think it's like
breaking a horse at Santa's Village? You're crazy? Tom?
Speaker 3 (02:35):
What when he picks off a pass and Chris Myers
is calling it down the forestie, are you gonna grab
his arm?
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Like here? It is here four by two hundred.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
He just reached his hand behind him, but there's no
baton there stick. What's Wyoming picked in the Mountain West
p I.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Don't know, Boise, he's picked to win, but Wyoming's got
to be up there. But they have a first year
head coach, the guy retired and uh, Colorado State's a sleeper.
They might get a piece of Dion's balls in the
Rocky Mountain showdown coming up, so we'll see. Okay, it
is time for the final hour of fun fact. It's
(03:15):
fun in effect, it's yeah, we're three fun fun facts.
Dodgers are in the desert. Tim Kates just deposited his
two children in the desert. We are I have a
game your Arizona State against Wyoming in the desert.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
One hundred and seven kickoff they were buzzing about you
this week. Pee, a lot of buns, a lot of buzz.
I was at a sports bar. They're like, hey, man,
ariz State, Wyoming.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Yeah, I did a couple of podcasts. I have done
a couple of podcasts. I went on the herd today.
I mean, I know, I know there's a lot of
buzz out there. But when we think about Arizona, especially
the Valley of the Sun, the Phoenix area, the Metroplex, Scottsdale, Tempe.
You know what Chandler, you know Masa Mason here, you
know good Year, Goodyear. There are five Marley's Sports Grill
(04:03):
locations in Arizona. Are you ready for the role? Call
Tim the little support please? I think I Downtown Phoenix, Downtown.
I've been down one. Yeah, I saw Kid from Kid
and Play face down in the bar. They're just out
really well. That's the first location, opening ninety two A
(04:25):
the Fry Building. Then we go there as a show together.
More on one occasion, okay, and more than one occasion
we suffered with explosive diarrhea. Chandler Fashion Center've been to
that one too, open at oh seven. Yeah, what's the
Chandler Fashions it's like we're talking about like it's like
a mall. But is it like Louis vatan Ors and
(04:46):
like Claire's. I think it's kind of like in between. Well,
lot's happened since COVID. So that's good year opening nine
flag Staff Wade haven't been there, She's You've got to
get a flannel in a freaking haven't done any game
to nau No, let's go. Jack's beautiful up there though
(05:08):
it is, though, and one in the Desert Ridge marketplace
wherever that I don't know where that is. Dan Marley,
a former NBA player and current assistant coach with the Sons,
owns Marley's Sports Grill. What's he doing right now? Pull
out coaching? Pull out a pipe? Ah, all right, it's
(05:31):
time for quick hits. Everybody, strap your balls to MS
quick hits. I'll make it quick, y'all. The Pine fought
an error eighty and fifty four first team in twenty
(05:52):
twenty four to get to eighty. Way to go, guys,
very win last night, Oh, one of the great wins. Ever,
how many sponsors we're going to pack in here at
the end of the season.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Thanks to Daniel Hudson Last night appreciate those walks there.
In the seventh it was nut cutting time for Kates.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
As we told me. Yeah, as we discussed earlier. Even
I was at home, like, oh wow. Another review in
complete passed. That's bad. The Dodgers on the Road report.
It brought to you by Valveeling Instant Oil Home of
the fifteen minute oil Change. Find the location near you
at so cal Vabelene dot com.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Clayton Kershaw on the Mountain tonight, guys, and right now
the Diamondbacks one of the best hitting teams against left
handers in baseball.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Who's favorite tonight? He's right handed? Who's favorite? We don't
look at baseball on here. We use our minds. We
use our mind.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
I think the guys in Vegas have a bigger mind
than you.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Whatever did like Robert de Niro at the end of
a casino, or is just sitting there in the sun
glasses staring at all the screens.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
The angel you want the odds, don Yeah, Dodgers are
minus one thirty two, Diamondbacks are plus one twelve whatever
that means.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
That means you got if you want. If you think
the Dodgers are gonna win, you gotta lay one hundred
and thirty two bucks to win a hundred. Okay, and
if you think the d Backs are gonna win, you
lay one hundred to win one hundred and twelve.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Copy that So, so the Dodgers are favored. Copy. But
don't they know about that left hander thing that you
just said? Somebody better called de Niro and tell him
about Kershaw that he's left handed. The Angels have lost
a great deal. They're one one loss away from eighty.
They're at home tonight against our friend Justin Turner and
(07:39):
the Seattle Mariners. Any thoughts on that? No, we're six
days away from the NFL season opener. Nothing is next Thursday. Yes,
nothing is more hulking and veiny and stronger and more
money making and more manipulative than the n f L.
(08:01):
In fact, Patrick Mahomes said, well, we'll get to that
in a moment. I we'll have the Thursday night games
for you right here on AM five seventy. Hey, how
about that sweet agreement that the Chargers reached on on
What do you think about that?
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Cameron Dicker, the kicker, Ah, how about that? Though?
Speaker 2 (08:20):
This tells you how well the NFL is doing when
kickers are signing twenty two million dollar contracts.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Man, this guy's not any kicker though his name rhymes wait.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Okay, but I mean mark other what's the guy from
Baltimore making? That guy doesn't miss what's his name? Justin Tucker? Yeah,
he's probably making seven or eight million, Tucker.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
He's making a lot of Yeah, it's true. He's got
a marketable name as well. Yes, Tucker. I didn't even
know her.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Twelve and a half million guaranteed for a kicker, that's
not like they're at a a huge risk to get
hurt kickers.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Yeah, but if it comes down to a winner or
loss and this guy is too stupid to be upset
about it, he just goes out there and kicked it through,
then you got to pay him.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
We got to ask Matt, do they have any like cool?
Like does a PA guy say anything cool that because
he's Cameron Dick or the kicker or everything.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
They do is cool. They're the Chargers, right. Did you
see that cool skit where they had in the stands
or the Charger fan. I was getting proposed to by
the Ram fan and she said no, And then they
spilled nachos on the guy in the aisle really creative.
I didn't see that. Yeah, well you missed out.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
I remember a couple of years ago, the Chargers couldn't
find a kicker. They went through like three of them.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Yes, I remember they had the money Badger and all
those different guys they couldn't find. I got him make
a kick. Yeah. Well, you know the NFL is changing.
They got so much money coming through. You now got
Dick or the kicker and Tucker.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
By the way, don not only is there a Thursday
night game with Kansas City and Baltimore, there's a Friday
night game? What coming up in Salpolo, Brazil? Yeah, Packers
and Eagles Friday night from Brazil.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
What's that on Amazon? That will be on Peacock Peacock Yeah,
ticket price fifty bucks. And you're right, Kidney, wake up.
This is the wake up the NFL. Wake up in
a bathtub full of eyes stapled shutgame. Okay, this falls
under the guys on the Petroson Money Show, dawn of
(10:31):
What are the headlines? What should the headline be today? Sports?
That's all we think about.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
Here's the other story nobody's talking about.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
You know, I'm not a racist. I mean, he's a
bad headline. What are the headlines? According to quarterback Patrick Mahomes,
one of the most impactful football players in the last
twenty years, Taylor Swift has been drawn up plays for
the Chiefs. He joked and to sit down with Chris
(11:02):
Simms of NBC that the team might even include him
in games. That great.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Wow, Well, they might be so different than a regular
NFL set that they might work.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Yeah, like a sashet. Right, she's really interested in football,
she asked, lots of great questions, started drawing up play.
We might have to put one in.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Well, there's no doubt that they're trying to because of
the relationship with Kelsey, keep her as much involved with
the NFL as possible.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Yeah, you think it. He turns out. She's got a
pretty big following, a big following. Her music is so
offensive that it's literally currency between my daughter and I.
I'm like, look, i'll take you to seven eleven and
I'll get you a slurpee. But we ain't listening to
Tennis Swept. It's that offensive. And she tries to drop
f bombs and stuff. It's like, who your daughter the Swift?
(12:05):
My daughter's more legit. My daughter's more gangster than swift. Jeez.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Yes, this is genius marketing by the Chiefs. Now, everybody's
gonna watch every Chiefs game. Every plug is shut off.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
It was that one right there, sweetheart. That was the
bad Blood play where they all hold up a sign
that says, f you, Katy Perry. You never got bad Blood.
Very offensive music, I mean bad. She tried to do
like an I'm Deep album called The Torture's Poet. Whatever. God,
it's horrible, I got I mean, my God, talk about
(12:41):
trying too hard. Jesus Christ, if I wrote that, I
jump off.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
A bridgeman's not listening to this. I'm sorry, but you
have bad taste in music. I can't help you.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
Pretty good. No, it's not no children, it's for kids.
It's for it's literally for children. Well, let's hope she
draws up some great plays. Yeah, Oh, she loves a
fumble Rooskie. There it is. That's the one she's just setting.
UCLA kicks off the season at Hawaii. Whenever UCLA or
(13:13):
anybody we like goes to Hawaii, even Delaware State, we
like to say, o lo, was.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
This just announceing Garber's getting start?
Speaker 1 (13:33):
No Bruins are a fourteen point favorite kickoff is at
four on AM eleven fifty Eighthan Garber's getting the start.
Ethan Garber's gonna start at quarterback. He's excited about this offense,
especially with a new offense and oc the volatile Eric
b Enemy calling plays.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
I feel like we've done a great job honestly, you know,
starting in the spring with Kluck Gnnedy coming in and
then working all the way.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Through full camp, working till now. Everyone's here off and
has a lot of good A lot of the guys
have been studying very well and very hard, and hey,
and we got a good grasp offense.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
USC kicks off the season against LSU on Sunday, Trojans
four and a half point underdogs. LSU head coach Brian
Kelly has a lot of respect for Lincoln Riley and
he's creative play calling like Taylor Swift.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Lincoln has his own flavors.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
You know.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
They implement the tight end much more than any of
the air raid offenses that we've gone against, and do
a really good job with the tight end on the field.
So they're not a four wide receiver air raid, which
gives them a better opportunity to include a run game
and and be good at the run game. So what
(14:50):
does it give us in terms of challenges? You know,
a really good play caller, somebody that's going to keep
you off balance, reverses, trick plays.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
He's going to be.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Non traditional in many ways. This is not going to
be well. I would have that's that seems like a
call I would have made. I think anymore times where
our guys have to be on their toes at all.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Times should be exciting. A very sad story. Seven times
NHL All Star Johnny Gaudreau of the Columbus Blue Jackets
and his younger brother Matthew were killed when they were
biking and struck by a vehicle driven by a suspected
drunk driver in New Jersey, back home for their sister's wedding.
It's awful. I mean, that's one of the worst stories
(15:38):
of the year. Just Jesus, terrible. Our thoughts are with them.
Three year extension for Ivitza Zubots and he's going to
be making some money, which is great with the Clippers.
We all like Ivitza Zubots around here, Dawn. I mean, yeah,
fifty eight point six million dollar contract extension.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Two things I always about him on our shows throughout
the years. He plays mostly every night. He's durable, and
he's gotten better every year. He's added something to his
game every year. So those are the guys you want
to reward. They obviously, I hate to say it, they
have more money now because PG went somewhere else. But
he deserves every penny that he gets Zoo Box, because
(16:22):
he shows up every night ready to.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Play, seventy million coming his way. He's only twenty seven
and he's nine seasons, going into his ninth season, already
coming off a season where he averaged eleven points, nine
rebounds per game, and sixteen points per game in the
Western Conference playoff series lost to the Mavericks. He's been
playing good basketball for the game, good for him and
good for the Clippers. Really, I mean, he's he has
(16:45):
been steady. He like I said, he plays every night,
and he's almost like a like a warm, comfortable blanket
for ty Luke because he's he's ready to play and
he's gotten better. What he's really gotten better at is
being that back line rim protector in blocking shots, changing shots,
and so good for him. I like how it says
(17:08):
how his existence is an f you to magic Johnson

You know the Dodgers are eighty and fifty four overall.
In their first place at the NLS, they had the
first team in the major leagues eighty went huge series.
As we've been talking about, one hundred and seventy thousand
tickets sold for the weekend in Arizona. Vassay's freaking out
on the cold Brew, Freddie Freeman's coming on the pregame show,
Zach Gallon on the mound for the d backs to
night Clayton gerscho for the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
Wow, I have something for you, p that's off topic
of the quick hits that I did this morning on
the heels of our conversation short conversation with Katie yesterday
when she brought up Oasis or we brought up Oasis
getting back together, Yeah, next summer. And I was reading
something I guess the thirtieth anniversary of Definitely Maybe their
(18:35):
first album. Correct thirtieth anniversary was like two days ago
or yesterday, and the thing I was reading was about
what a blockbuster release it was and how popular and
how it exploded in the UK. And I was a
fan of Oasis in the mid nineties. But I think
since you're the Commissioner of Music, I'd like to hear
(18:55):
your thoughts on it. I think their follow up album
What Story Morning Glory, What's the Story Morning Glory? Is
better than Definitely Maybe. Well, that's the one that really
gave it thrust because wonder Wall everybody knew one got
three big ones on there. You got Wonderwall, you got
h Don't Look.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Back in Anger, and you got Champagne Champagne Super Now
tough to step to. That was supersonic and uh, baby,
I don't really want to know. But the point that
this god and I agree with you, Don, The point.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
That this guy made, which I thought was interesting, was
rarely does a sophomore album is good as the first album,
like back to back like that.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
Yeah, you gotta be like Van Morrison or somebody like
that to punch up people in the boots in that way.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Yeah, and the Oasis, but I'd never thought of that that.
I'd never thought that those were their first two albums
and both were really good albums. Usually that's one good
one and then then maybe the third or fourth ones
really good.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
The Killers follow up certainly did disappoint. This has been
music with Don McClain.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Are you thinking about going to a concert next year
in Europe to go see him? They're playing three shows
in London and then they're playing two shows they're playing
Old in Europe. That's it limited amount of show.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
I thought it because I went back and relisted. I
had listened to it in a long time. I relistened
to both those albums this morning and it kind of
got me a little fired up. I would go to
the show, but I don't know if I'm willing to
go to Europe to go to the show.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
When you think about it, maybe do some scouting out there,
go buy Europe and then I'm gonna hit the Balkans
and tax right off. Oh I found this guy from
you know, Scotto. Well, we'll be back. A big thank
you to Don McClain, a big thank you to Tim
Kats of course, and Katie for putting in work. We'll
be back on Tuesday. Have a great Labor Day weekend everybody.
Thank you for listening podcast the show when we're gone,
(20:45):
and follow us on social media. Brongo Casino, Dodgers on
deck coming up,
