we prefer the iHeartRadio app because if you're driving around
or if you're not near a radio and you'd like
to listen to the Dodgers Angels game tonight at six forty,
(01:43):
you can do that through your smart device and the
iHeartRadio app, as long as you are in the greater
Los Angeles area and inside our boss's arbitrary geo fens.
One of the great benefits, I mean ivea in Orange County.
You got a shot, got a shot.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
We also got football coming up Thursday night Sunday on nine,
so a lot of flex alerts all week. Will be
starting a two all week other than Friday.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
So thank you for listening. But right now, as we continue,
it is time for the top story of the day,
the top story of it. You know, every now and
then in the NFL will borrow ideas from other leagues,
perhaps the amateur ranks, and I can't help but feel
the advent of the Thursday night football debut. The Super
(02:30):
Bowl champ, the defending champ, the reigning Kings of the league,
playing a home game, celebrating their accomplishment in front of
their fans, a packed stadium, the eyes of the nation
fixed upon one singular event, and rarely is it a
throwaway game, a lopsided affair where you just crown the
(02:54):
champs and guide them to a one in zero start
to their season. It's almost always like what we have
this year, a Thursday night football kick off the season
AFC Championship rematch between the Chiefs and the Ravens. And
I feel like the NFL by backing this up with
a Friday contest International Fair Brazil Packers Jets. Oh, it's
(03:16):
like a week zero. It's like, Hey, the NFL doesn't
arrive until Sunday technically for everybody. But before then we've
got a smattering. Yeah, they get appetite, concerts and all
that stuff, concerts, International rail celebration. Coachasa, Oh, big asses,
big asses, small chests, makes a brick crying. It's a lie.
(03:39):
It didn't happen. You did not see that with your
own eyes. The curve of the ass. She did not
sit on my lap. I heard the call of the ass.
She did not shake her waist. Symbols in my face. Uh.
New Packers running back former raider Josh Jacobs set on
one of those many Player podcasts quote about the Packers
(04:03):
Jets game in Brazil. We can't even wear green, something
to do with gangs and stuff. Still quoting Josh, we
can't even They won't even let us leave the hotel.
They said the team should only pack black and white clothes.
Now he was immediately reprimanded, I would imagine by Commissioner
Goodell himself. An international incident was created. As the very
(04:26):
next day he tweeted and instagrammed, I was misinformed. Oh
for real, can't wait to see all the fans in Brazil.
Wait a minute. They either told you you can't wear green, right,
or they told you you could only wear black and white,
or they didn't which one was I don't know. But
if they can't wear green and the NFL decided to
send two teams that wear green to the city of
(04:48):
South Paolo, that would have been a hell of an oversight.
Now I did some digging around to see if, in
fact Josh Jacobs was misinformed, and here is what I discovered.
Apolo is a massive city. It is fifty percent larger
than New York City. They do not unofficially prohibit wearing green.
(05:13):
There was nothing really in there about green outside of
the stadium in which they will be plain. Their colors
are black and white, and their chief rival wears green,
and so wearing green to that stadium may put you
in line for some hooliganism style violence that may be
(05:33):
where it came from.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
A certain color represents a political party, like very much
so in some countries, like green and orange in Jamaica,
one is one and the other is the other. And
if you wear one in the other neighborhood, it's like
bloods and crips. Yeah, ten year old's gonna shoot you
with a gun that came from Cuba and it's great.
You know, it's a ghost gun to the Kingston Harbor.
So this does not sound like that. Well, you know, man,
(05:55):
it's not like people haven't gone to Brazil and had
their kidney stolen. And it's not like I didn't try
to run up on Lockty at that gas station and
he ripped that sign off the wall in the bathroom. Okay,
he got what he deserved now on top of that side.
But it's not a place that I think, like, Wow,
it's like they're going to Switzerland. If you know what
I'm saying, I know what you're saying, and that's what
(06:17):
they thought too. Well, so what did they do? How
do they push back? Josh Jacobs goes on the football
equivalent of all ass smoke and says that ass, what
does Brazil do? Pardon the pond, But they come out,
guns blaze, and they say who not only are you
wrong a meigo I speak Portuguese, not only are you wrong?
(06:40):
But we're gonna take it a step We're gonna take
this a step further. Green Bay may be a small town,
but the largest metropolis that supports the Green Bay Packers.
Milwaukee over the last twenty years had a high and
twenty twenty two of thirty eight murders per one hundred
thousand residents, which is a crazy amount by the and
(07:00):
a low of twelve murders per one hundred thousand citizens
in the last twenty years, and South Polo has but
eight murders per one hundred thousand residents. So if you
want to come after us for being some type of
murder zone, why dont you look in your own backyard?
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Green Bay? Fair? That's fair, It's fair, right, I'm talking
about Rio I guess international incident created by a running
back on an All that Smoke style podcast hopefully quelled
and put to rest before kickoff on Friday night Thursday night,
or you said it at the opening, pee, we are
your home of the NFL again this season. You will
get your primetime games Thursday night Monday night, perhaps as
(07:43):
much as a triple header on Sunday, depending on what
other activities we have going on Dodgers, Clippers, UCLA related.
Are we the home of the La Angel City as well?
Do we have that in their way? Only on the stream?
Only on a stream? Well, get in your way, not
going to get in your way Versus Ravens. A lot
of people asking why is she Rice playing Week one?
(08:06):
You got the video, you got the arrest, you got
two cars doing one hundred miles an hour on a highway,
and they say he ran away. You got these dudes
running away from the accident, seeing people were injured into
the hospital. He scorned as the one who rans scorned?
Is the one who ran? Is who she Rice is?
He is starting on Thursday. Maybe read don't care. He don't,
(08:29):
and apparently the NFL doesn't either. He is facing eight
felony charging and on top of that, Pee, he's got allegations.
Then he beat the hell out of a phaux talk
hanging over him, and yet he will be out there.
Let me run through a few of these. Michael Thomas,
stand up guy. Saints wide receiver suspended week one. Remember
(08:53):
he grabbed that dude's phone and threw it that contractor
that kept parking in front of his house and he
didn't like it. That ruins my curb appeal. Give me
the phone. He suspended week one. J C. Jackson, Now
you tell me, I don't know if it qualifies as irony.
It kind of does. It certainly qualifies as what the hell?
He suspended week one because he skipped his court appearance
(09:14):
for felony speeding. He's out week one, say Jones? Five games,
domestic violence, rams left tackle Zay's trebled Alaric Alaric. They
say there's two ways to pronounce it in Nobody knows.
It's the Dan gad Zurich problem. We ran into two games,
no details. Nobody knows two games. But many continue to
(09:36):
push the conspiracy theory that the Chiefs get all the breaks,
that they sign all these dudes with checkered pasts, with
rap sheets. The league never suspends them because they want
to make sure the league's biggest stars. Patrick Mahomes Travis
Kelcey are on the biggest stages because the NFL does
not want twenty seven million people watching Thursday night football
(09:57):
and the kickoff to the season when they can get their.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
One.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
So I gotta get Rashi Rice out there to be
Patrick Mahomes's number one receiver. Damn it. I don't care. Now,
can you buy into the conspiracy part of this? Eh?
I will say, as you mentioned, the truth is Andy
Reid and Brett Veech, who really is just an extension
of Andy Reid. They signed guys that other teams will not.
They draft dudes that other teams remove from their board.
(10:25):
They do not care. They will take the one to
two weeks of heat knowing the local media will not
pursue it because those Kansas Citians, the Kansans, the Missourians.
You better not come after our chiefs now, Okay, don't
you dare do that. We will stop patronizing your outlet,
you're online portal, Your ain't stained fingers of a paper
(10:49):
Chiefs Kingdom. You're up? Uh Tyreek Hill was a red
flag for everyone. That's why he lasted into the fifth round.
You punch your pregnant girlfriend in his stomach, throw her
down a flight of stairs, get kick out of school
and have to go to a JC. Chances are a
lot of teams gonna take you off their board.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
I already was a kidney punch, but agreed to disagree.
The shefs Frank Clark, come on down.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
They don't care. Which it's pretty scary considering the the
Jovan Belcher situation they had like a decade ago about Hernandez.
Exactly right, rather big movie coming out on Fax. Oh
it's not fair. Why can't you let it lay? Another
interesting development my wall of guns. There's a nice little
(11:34):
SoundBite that I'm sure many have already heard, but if
you haven't a little SoundBite from Patrick Mahomes getting ready
to go into this Thursday football ball what we might
see out there. Mclan was very excited about the prospective.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
Meeting Taylor and realized how genuine and cool she is.
I mean, I think that's been special to me because
I mean she's, what you said, the most fans person
in the world. She could not be, and she's really
interested in football, and she asked a lot of great questions.
She started drawing up place we might have to put
one in.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
I hope that happens. I hope that even though they
lie about it, the fact that there could be a
touchdown toss or some sort of weird whatever with Travis
Kelcey involved that leads to a touchdown and they go
to the lectern or on the dais after the game
(12:19):
and say, Hey, that's Taylor Swiss play tortured like that?
Did you like that? Did you like that play? Huh?
Did you like that play? Because that's the one that
Taylor Swift drew up?
Speaker 2 (12:29):
You know.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
She asked a lot of good questions.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
Yeah, watched George Allen had a similar relationship with Richard
Nixon and watching d a lot of players being drawn
up there.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
To Friday Packers Jets Brazil, we mentioned it would like
to know the most interesting storyline for me just released?
Who's buying Out of the Darkness The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers?
Who wants to read a three hundred page book called
Out of the Darkness The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers? Is
(12:57):
it written by Aaron Rodgers? It is not. I'm glad
you asked, because if it was, nobody's reading that ass
because everybody hates you, Aaron. Is it a ghost. It
is an unauthorized biography by Ian O'Connor. Oh, is this
the one well respected.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
How the actress, that jess Abel actress, ruinous relationship with
his family?
Speaker 1 (13:19):
I believe Olivia mon. Yes, this has got all of those.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Detailed sinister actress, that snake woman. I believe she's pregnant
now yeah, I think she blew one out when already
already questioned, Yes, Kate.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
It's also got details about how at the golf tournament
in Tahoe a couple of years ago, Aaron saw his
dad following him on the golf course by two of them, hugged, hugged.
Ian O'Connor wrote, that's my captain, the Derek Cheter story.
He wrote coach k he wrote Bill Belichick, and now
he's taken on Aaron Rogers. Will you read it?
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Will you download it on it Amazon Audible and listen
to it on your mute instead of radio classics? I
will not. Also, Toyota has cut off my serious exam radio.
That's a real bitch, and I've got to call them
and get it back. Here's my problem. I don't need
to be upsalt. I'm gonna call you. I want this
(14:16):
call to last sixty seconds. Hey, turn it on. Whatever
I had before, turn it on. I'm paying for Well,
would you be interested in the premium because what that'll do.
It does allow three smart devices to be added and
you can run. Seriously, do you have any Amazon Echo
devices in your house? Because they also cares us not
whatever I had, well before I do that, I'm gonna
(14:38):
need to go through.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
This calls recorded, they have to do all that. It's
like when you roll up to Carls Junior and they
try to sell you a cheesecake. I'm not here for
a cheesecake.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
I don't want the cheesecake with you, guys, eleven am
a freaking cheesecake. Welcome to Starbars. Can I start you
off with a Brios Brios No, leave me alone. As
far as as far as our teams people, we'll get
to Chargers, Raiders, Rams, Lions on Sunday Night Football a
little bit later this week. All right, we'll be back
week zero in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
We'll celebrate USC's victory over LSU in Las Vegas foosball.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yes, Petro said, Monday AM five seventy LA Sports Live
everywhere on the iHeart Radio app, going until five thirty pm.
Same schedule tomorrow, Dodgers Angels, Angels first pitch comes at
six forty pm. We have got football, Yes, NFL football
this week on your home of the NFL, AM five
(15:33):
seventy LA Sports. Ravens Chiefs kick off the season. Defending
Super Bowl champs always get the premiere on Thursday night
and it will be a rematch of the AFC Championship game.
And you'll hear that right here at five point fifteen
pm on Thursday. Remember, you can win tickets to see
Chargers Raiders. That's available on our Instagram feed AM five
to seventy LA Sports. All right, Matt, no hate here,
(15:56):
It's time for the flip Top story of the day.
I'll clip you out look you. This is the flip
top story of the day. Treles Bronson, you'll hang for
this now.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
I have not been this impressed with a USC team, Matt,
A collective team effort since.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
The ed Orgerone era, the interim era.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Now, we were impressed with Sam Darnold in his time,
Marquise Lee, Caleb Williams spectacular as well. But as a
team Sunday night, USC was damn impressing. They were bright
and strong, brighter than the eyes of a psycho meth
head and naked City, that is how brightly.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
They show him. That's really bright. Might be a bit
of an exaggeration. H Well, you know it was good. No,
LSU has lost their last three season openers. Okay, not
as bright as a meth head's eyes and nations. That's
an insult to see them tackle.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
That was something right to see USC actually tackled open
field one on one tackles. You couldn't just run all
over them like a soft, big twelve air raid team.
They bowed their necks on defense against a big, bad
SEC team, and it really did. And I'm glad that
(17:15):
we said their names over and over and over, say
all their.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Names, say all their names. Go ahead and do it.
I'm glad we said them the hires that they made
in the off season. Beatle specifically the ones we mentioned,
not Michelle Beadle, matt Ense, the North Dakota Head State
North Dakota State head coach Dan Lynn, Doug bel And
(17:39):
it was matt ENCE's linebackers like Mason Cobb and Eric
Gentry who looked great, Doug belk secondary guys Ramsey from
UCLA Easton Mascarenas a leaky arnold from Morgan State.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Those guys looked great. And Dan and Lynn from UCLA
last year. Second half adjustments, Oh.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
My god, who thought those were possible?
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Much of that was unimaginable to see in a USC
football game, maybe even in the last ten years. And
a lot of the stuff that was there for the
Bayou Bengals early in the game was gone as the
game went on.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Why adjustments?
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Why?
Speaker 3 (18:21):
And make no mistake, the defense was the difference. They
stopped people. Sure, LSU moved the ball, but they didn't
bully usc se didn't get bullied up front, not at all.
I was shocked, and I was pleasantly surprised, and I
was impressed, very impressed. Most impressive basically because USC was
(18:42):
the more discipline team, less penalties, more composure than LSU.
If you had told me before the game, somebody out
there is going to go up to another guy and
blast him in the face with an imaginary shotgun, I
would say sure, and then go to the sideline and say,
how blass and a blat I would say, for sure,
(19:02):
that's probably gonna be an sc guide.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
I'd have been right up. I would have been right
up there ally a year ago.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
But it was not less penalties and more composure than
lsu Very impressive, Absolutely, Matt.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
In fact, it made Brian Kelly lose his Southern gentleman's
gelatinous cover and pound the table like Nikita Christ Jeff.
Speaker 6 (19:26):
We're sitting here again. We're sitting here again talking about
the same things about not finishing when you have an
opponent in a position to put them away. But what
we're doing on the sideline is feeling like the game's over,
and I'm so angry about it that I got to
do something about it. I'm not doing a good enough
(19:47):
job as a coach, and I got to coach him
better because it's unacceptable for us not to have found
a way to win this football game.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
It's ridiculous. USC had pois Sea adjusted, USC tackled on defense,
and we said all off season, Matt, I.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
Like when Lincoln Ridley calls plays on time. Caleb Williams
is and was spectacular.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Clean up your bottles.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
But he was a lot of improv as the years
went on. Uh he was seven and seven in his
last fourteen starts. And when you have a guy running
around improvising, it's not good for the overall identity of
the offense, the overall identity of the program. You can't
do free form Friday forever, my friend, You just can't.
(20:37):
Your fans will say, what the app what we almost
lost to Arizona? We almost lost a cow.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
We had that game one. What are we doing? We
could have been five and five and nine. If only
we had one more quarter to play, we'd have won
that game. Hey, no'll tell him what could have happened anything?
Miller Moss was.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Sharp, he was cool, he was tough. Yes, he had
some balls batted, but man, he was that's great. And
he was accurate, and he had guys like Jacoby Lane,
Kyron Hudson from Modern Day and dwar Tank make some
beautiful grabs, epic grabs, meet the moment type of plays
all around, and better protection against the big bad SEC
(21:18):
pass rush. I love the back from Mississippi State Woody Marks.
He made plays. Could not have been more impressed with
USC in the opener. You would expect that they would
be a little bit better as they're trying to change
their culture, but that much better, I think was a
shock to everybody. And congratulations to Lincoln Riley Deanton Lynn
(21:41):
and most of all Jen Cohen, the new ad who
held Lincoln Riley accountable and is trying to create a
real modern athletic department infrastructure at USC.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
You know.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
And congratulations to Miller Moss from Alamany not a transfer.
Congratulations to U two for sticking it out, becoming a
star at the school that you wanted to play out
in the first place. I think USC, with this staff
and more disciplined style of play and more imaginative, less
improvisational play calling from Lincoln Riley is going.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
To be just fine. In the big ten. Dan Lynn
was better than Lincoln Riley. Yeah, you know, Riley had
a couple of those issues the end of the first
half where he was scrambling a little bit. Defense did
everything they needed to do to win that game. They
tell them they tested number seven is something.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Yeah, Kamari Ramsey and came from UCLA and so did
Dan and Lynn and that was great. But just to
see Lincoln Riley in the offense just kind of working
on time, the ball coming out to I mean at
a certain point Miller Moss was like ten for ten
or eleven for eleven, and it was great. And it
was also great for LSU, even though the coach ended
(22:53):
up pounding on a table. It was great for LSU
playing game west of the Mississippi.
Speaker 6 (22:58):
I was sitting here again, We're sitting here again talking
about the same things.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
But a real opponent west of the Mississippi. LSU fans
are wonderful people here again. They make everything more fun
and more drum And I didn't forget that USC tried
all off season to get out of this game. And
they should not let the excitement of the game and
the victory. USC fans, they should not let that blind
(23:25):
them to the fact that their program spent the whole
offseason trying to get out of this game.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
It's fair point, right, I've not heard anybody mention that
if you beat Utah State. I mean that sincerely. Like
nobody pointed out, Yeah, they did not want to play
this game. They had that little confidence right in how
this was going to end up.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
But now you're a USC fan and you got your
chest out, and you wouldn't have felt that way if, like,
you beat Utah State by fifty.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
This was a big moment. So shouldn't the.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
Excitement of a game like Sunday Nights and the attention
that it got from everybody, and the fact that you
jumped ten points or ten spots and the polls. Shouldn't
that be further evidence to all USC fans and college
football as to why us he should play Notre Dame
every year and why it's important that USC plays great opponents.
When s he was great and Pete Carroll was winning
(24:11):
every single game and they would win thirty games in
a row, they didn't shy away from anybody, and no
one said, oh my god, the schedule is too hard.
Lincoln Riley should do more of what he did to
prepare this team for this season and let Jen Cohen
worry about the schedule and never answer another question about
it again. Who knows how long Lincoln Riley's going to
be here? You really think it's up to you whether
or not s he plays Notre Dame. Why you meglomaniac freak.
(24:35):
I mean, you can't say how can you say that
it's USC Notre Dame and you're a passing offensive play
caller for God's sakes. Anyway, they got Utah State late
Saturday night.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Hey, don't get snatched up now by Utah State. Utah
try not to. Then they do have a.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Don't you sleep on Utah State. They have a great
secondary player named Ike Larson. Beyond that, be careful. They
got Utah State late Saturday night. It's a week off
and then they go to the big House. But if
they continue to tackle people, so I like their chances
to continue to be impressive, most impressive. And except for
Herb Street's dog, it was a wonderful thing.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
One of my bigger takeaways really had to go get
to Sean Foster. You got this guy in house. You're
the number one run defense in the nation. It's y
U c l A is relevant and in games till
every fourth quarter you move on from schip Kelly and
just let this guy walk across the street, knowing the identity,
the culture, the fact that he could change it that
freaking fast. At usc as a half decade of ineptitude.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
And they staffed, I mean, they did a great job staffing,
and they held everybody accountable, and they looked like a
different I mean Gentry, Eric Gentry and Mason Cobb look
like different players.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Right, And you let that guy walk across the street.
But we're gonna bring in Deshaun Foster's.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
Dan and Lynn gonna let is Danton Lynn gonna let
Martin Jarmon step in front of him and do the
post game speech the way that Deshaun Foster let Dan.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
L do that in Hawaii? Is he No? No, I
guess there's your answer. No, I want to deliver the
postgame speech. It's been odd. We'll be honest with you,
unless maybe Martin's protecting to Sean from himself. Hey, this
is being filmed. We got a couple of these. Now
let's make sure we don't get a third.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
And we'll be back with more great sports talk. You're
dead in a live guy. Birthday today coming on neck
Well two and Monal Tuesday continues. The Pettersen Money Show continues.
We got NFL football this week. Thursday Night Football Ravens Chiefs,
Sunday Chiefs can hear Matt on ninety eight seven Chargers
(26:44):
Raiders kickoff at one Chiefs Chargers Raiders and the Ravens
and Tonight Dodgers Angels first pitch coming up and we're
looking forward to that. We're live everywhere in the iHeartRadio app.
Make sure you hit the follow button on the app
so you can get the latest note fires and a podcast.
The show Matt you've got the dead guy birthday of
(27:06):
the day today I do, and today for your dead guy.
I think we appeal to those that had a proclivity
to watching Deadwood on HBO.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
I like watching Cochise instead. You know what I'm saying.
I live Cochise action right here. I watched Deadwood for
the high browed dialogue. That's right, That's why I checked
it out. Heavy f bombs, you know they if you
watch Deadwood, you know George Hurst season two or three,
the most vicious, bloodthirsty, kill anyone and everyone. If they
got in your way to make a dollar, it's Deadwood.
(27:42):
The gold mine was excluding Well, Matt, you know those
are desperate times. Okay, let's just get this out of
the way. What did they snatch. I'm not asking you
to take on some of his sins, man, you don't
have to take his sins on, Matt. I just want
to make sure people don't think I am painting a
rosy picture of some sort of American hero. Although somewhere
you know a guy in the nineteenth century that owns
a mine, I'm thinking, you know, probably not a Christian
(28:04):
missionary doing the Lord's work?
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Or was he?
Speaker 1 (28:09):
Did they take some of the land from the Lakota Soup. Maybe,
but it appeared as though it was the whities before
him that he bought the land from, that committed that
particular And.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
I bet you the sue chopped some scalps of some
other Native Americans to get into the first exactly right.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Born in Missouri to a debt riddled farmer. As a kid,
he and his friends would prospect the local lead minds,
getting a few bits of lead a day, making a
couple of pennies. Dad dies, he is trying to make
the farm work. He's obsessed with mining, reading anything and
everything you can get his hands on. Dug the family
out of debt by leasing lead claims, and then he
(28:47):
hears about gold in dend Air Hills, Well, California. She
had an innate sense of what minds did. Shase moved
over just outside of Nevada City found a gold bearing ledge.
The Native Americans called him boy the earth speak tool.
He would pay them for the rights to their land,
(29:09):
mind the hell out of them, sell them, move on
to the next. His reputation amongst other miners was quote
the greatest natural miner whoever had a chance to bring
his talents into play on a large scale. Pea could spelling.
He was try. He was not a geologist, He had
no special education, but the smelling a congenital instinct for mine.
(29:32):
The news of the silver strike led him to the
comstock load. He bought a steak in the Ophir mine
and it was huge silver and gold, ten thousand dollars
per ton, and there were tons of it. He took
his profits diversified real estate, cattle ranches, horse breeding, but
continued mining Ontario daily mines of Park City, Utah, monthly
(29:53):
dividends in today's dollars millions, the Anaconda copper mine of Montana,
the world's largest, and then think your whole boots were deadwood.
He bought two hundred and fit well, two hundred and
forty nine claims I'd killed the other guy, Yeah, six
hundred acres of Black Hill's gold. Over the next twenty years,
(30:14):
the mind generated eighty million dollars not in today's money
back then, about two to three billion dollars of today's money.
After that, he got into politics. State like on a
Western horrors, I'll kill you a lot of people if
they need to be killed. Every horror in Reno. Uh,
he was a US senator from California. Said of him
by other senators, you'd never know he was one of
(30:37):
the world's wealthiest. Matter wore simple clothes, eight simple meals,
and quote never got above his race. He remained the
same George Hurst who mined on the feather in Uba
in the fifties. Now I did not watch Deadwood with
much interest. Was this the little guy, the little Irish
guy that plays everybody in Jodwick Guy? No, this is
(30:59):
a big, burly bearded dude who slapped them prostitutes around.
Oh yeah, anybody they got out of line because he
own the mind Yeah, on the minds. He died at
seventy while serving in the Senate. His fortune was passed
along to many universities for libraries that bear his name.
His son, William Randolph hers Right, walked a bit of
(31:19):
a different trail. Maybe a story for another day.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Also a killer. Also killed a chick on a boat.
Also a killer. The movie about that genetics man. Well,
what a great story, Matt. And look I'm giving you
another opportunity. You started so strong the other day only
to peter out.

might peter out over the weekend.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
But they did it strong, started real strong, and then
they got beat by like twenty runs and then they
came back.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Send the pole out there, let him take the beating.
He's so stupid, he won't even know. Oh, the poles
are so dumb, they don't realize their lamb of this law.
I figured this would be another shot at it, Matt.

great Korean star. Joy aka Park su young but known

but sadly ended up in one of the South Korean
entertainment woomb bladder farms. Now you go where the money is.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
Where she was sixteen, she got put in there and
after two years in the primordial lose, she made it
into the band Red Velvet. That's who you hear here,
started on television later and hosting as well, when solo
in twenty twenty one and became a big star. She
is a big star. Beer endorsements. Lottie Fits whenever that
(32:56):

lightweight c k the one. Yeah, she dates an R
