Speaker 3 (00:38):
Got it out, Vic Petrosen Money A five seventy LA
Sports Live Everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. An hour ago
we can things off with Vic. He was on Dodger
Talk last night as well, celebrating your twenty twenty four
World Series champion Dodgers on your Home of the Dodgers
AM five seventy LA Sports Paradus Tomorrow, we will have
coverage beginning at nine thirty am, anchored by Tim Katz

(00:59):
at Roder Stadium. That is where the celebration will commence.
Following the parade begins at City Hall ends at Fifth
and Flower. It is all presented by Yamavah presented by
bud Wiser This buds for you Back of America, the
official bank of the La Dodgers, and Yahkulti probiotic drink
of the Dodgers. So, if you can't make it to
the parade or don't want to work your way into
the city streets, did not score a ticket for the

(01:21):
celebration at Dodger Stadium.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Score some crack with one of them hobos.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
You could, yeah, definitely get some crack and also some poop,
maybe some heptitis, any of those things available to you
if you decide to make your way out there.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Hepatitis with a lemon zest, That's.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Exactly what I'm saying. Maybe some consumption, a lot of
things available to him. A polio, you know, if you're
not getting vaccinated, that might be out there as well.
So a lot of things available to you. On the
parade route that begins at City Hall. I think it
makes its way up First Street, then Grand, then Fifth
and Flower. A lot of things available, some things maybe

(01:55):
you did not anticipate acquiring that you are by.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
The wayside case it's too complicated to make those. You
can't go over to Alvarado and get a fake id.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Like he use a bunch of bulls, is what that is.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
You can go to Langers, you can go to Clinic
del Mouhare, but and you can go stand up and
be out on your feet like the people at MacArthur Park.
But probably not a fake id. All right, imagine it.
I have been deluged with this, so finally we'll get
to it here with the word of the day.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
I know the word of the day.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
It's a big deal because the Dodgers won a World
Series and we had Eric Carrolson and Massey is going
to join us. It's a real victory lap around town.
You know who else is taking a victory lap today,
James Cromwell. Who would think that taping your hand or
gluing your hand to the counter of a Starbucks and

(02:51):
doing well what seemed to be kind of a ridiculous
public protest about extra charges on vegan milk at which
we played for many years here on the show.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
When will you stop charging us more for vegan milk?
When will you stop breaking in huge profits, customers, animals
and the environment suffers. When will you stop utilizing people
for their ethnicity or their morals? The senseless of charge
hurts animals.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
The senseless up charges over Matt, Starbucks will stop charging
extra for non dairy milk. The new rule goes into
effect November seventh.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Horns for that way to go, Cromwell.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Some customers like James Cromwell more than ten percent on
their beverages. According to Starbucks, save the Planet, Save the Cows,
and the vegan up charge. Now, when will you stop
charging us more for vegan milk? Save the planet, Save
the cows.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
That's when?

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Now.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Now, there is an amal animal Empathy center on Sunset
in Echo Park. I hope it wasn't burned in the
riots last night or somebody bled all over it with
their hands blown off by a firecracker, But there is.
There is a whole James Cromwell Center for an animal

(04:28):
empathy in Echo Park. I believe it's pretty newly built.
So if you want to go over there and be like, hey, hey,
and the vegan up charge, you did it, James, you
did it. You did it. You did it, you son
of a bitch. Now, so that would be a great
time to do it. November seventh, Novembers. You know, just

(04:53):
so you know that the world is still turning, you know,
because the Dodgers won and Eric Harris wants us to
soak it all in. Here's another one, Matt from Las Vegas.
This is the greatest Twitter follow in the world. Sin
City Alerts, let me just read it to you. Units
on the Las Vegas Strip on the lookout for a disturbance.
A group of intoxicated clowns riding around on electric scooters

(05:16):
slapping random women on the butt and laughing about it.
And then it was updated. Security offers. Officers have located
one of the subjects passed out in the sports book
on its scooter. Subjects clown costume covered in beer. EMT requested.
So just so you know, you know the world. Yeah,
the Dodgers won the World Series. Yes, people in Los

(05:38):
Angeles are excited about it. Yes, we want to maximize
all the the bat sales and the ticket sales for
the parade, parade coverage and all that. But just remember
the vegan up charge ended at Starbuckswell, and there was
a rogue group of clowns running around Las Vegas drugs

(06:02):
slapping people on the ass. So keep your head on
a swivel aft.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
When will you stop charging more for vegan milk.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
When will you stop charging us for vegant milk?

Speaker 3 (06:16):
November seventh, sir, coconut milk. Here I come, beautiful, Thank you.
Cromwell got a number.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Of the day. Here's my number.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Number of the day.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Number the day is third. This this almost never, I mean, never, ever, ever.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Ever, ever, ever, ever ever.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
One crazy summer style hap never happens. A first round pick,
barely out of the lottery, kid who was all big
ten crushed the souls of Purdue. And they're two matchups.
And I thought, correct me, maybe I in basketball. Yeah.
I might have missed the message, but I could have swore.
At his introductory conference, JJ Reddick preached that they were

(07:03):
ushering in an era of player development. Correct, That's right,
wasn't that the centerpiece of his being hired a young
energetic develop players develop young players. Today, it was shared
that the Lakers have declined the third year option on

(07:25):
Jalen Hoods Schaffino oh No, a six foot five, two
hundred and fifty pound point guard who has played one
hundred minutes of basketball in his career, barely two games
worth of NBA basketball, and our player developmental coaching staff
in town has decided to give more minutes to Brownie James,

(07:48):
who is not an NBA player than the seventeenth pick
from a draft some sixteen months ago.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Oh, the world's keep turning for Schiaffino.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Huh I averaging fourteen points.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
He couldn't just sit there and enjoy the Dodgers victory
and let it soak in good He.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Four rebounds, four assists and a steal in the Big Ten.
He hung thirty five on the number one team in
the nation, Purdue at Mackie uh nineteen five and three
dimes against Miami in the NCAA tournament's second round. And
I guess they can't figure out how to develop that
guy for four million dollars of salary next year guaranteed

(08:27):
declining a guy who played fifteen games in the G
League last year and went twenty two points on forty
seven percent shooting, five rebounds, five and a half assists
in the G League in fifteen games. Why does Rob
Polinka have a job? He drafted Hood Schafino ahead of
Heimihakes on a team with Lebron James. Oh Hood Schaffino

(08:53):
raw toolsy physical traits project. Hey, everyone be patient. This
is if someone we believe would be a top five
pick if he stayed another year in college, and we're
gonna develop him instead. They're gonna let Bronni stick around
and boot this guy. The agonizingly long, preachy speech condescending

(09:17):
tone to the assembled media from JJ Reddick, Oh, I
love about style, love his style. They were going to
develop young players. Clutch runs it, lebron runs it. So Genie,
put the millions you're paying Polinka back in your pocket
and let him go. You already got nineteen million bucks

(09:37):
of D'Angelo Russell coming off the books next year, a
combined eight million from Jackson Hayes, Christian Wood, Cam Reddish,
that'll come off the books. You really needed the extra
four million off, barely double what Broni will make. But man,
you know, I guess it's a perfect time to do
it because it's overshadowed by one of the great moments

(10:00):
and Laker history last night. You know, hey, guys, let's
do the ship you know thing right now because World Series.
Who cares Bronni gets in the game in Cleveland five minutes,
sixteen seconds left in the fourth quarter with the Lakers
down just twenty one, can he rally the team back
from the deep down twenty two with two minutes six
seconds left, he bangs a fourteen foot or to cut

(10:22):
it to twenty. Yewww, yeah, Bronnie, they let him keep
the net. Number one headline on ESPN's NBA page, Bronnie
keeps the net as he nets his first bucket, feels
the love in Cleveland, shaved it to twenty quote after
the game, which they lost by twenty four. It's insane.

(10:43):
This is Bronnie, by the way. Quote. It was insane,
much more than I anticipated. The chance really got me.
It felt really good, especially coming from here. He's a kid.
That's an asenine set of quotes. But he's a child,
so I'm gonna take it easy.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
No, I mean, look what they've done to him.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Lebron is the cause of this all of course.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Why would it be important for Lebron to have his
son show out in Cleveland?

Speaker 3 (11:10):
I down twenty two. He shaved it.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
That's we're here nor there the historical significance of Broady.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
Here's Lebron's quote. He's better than I would have been
in that situation. Twenty thousand fans screaming my name to
get in the game and wanting me to be in
the game if the rules reversed, I don't know if
I'd have been able to handle it.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Ain't no telling, is.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
That right, Lebron? Because the last time I checked, when
you were drafted, you were on the cover of Sports
Illustrated when it meant something listed is the greatest player
in the history of the NBA draft, plays your first
game at Madison Square Garden when he's eighteen thirty five minutes,
forty seven percent shooting, seventeen points, five assists, three steals.

(11:55):
The Cavs, who had the one of the worst records
in the league the year prior to win one hundred
and ninety eight. Lebron, you could not have handled that,
no way, getting in with your team down twenty one,
trying to make an open fourteen foot or to cut
at the twenty with two minutes left. That's heavy man again, pushing.
This is a joke. This is not basketball. It's freaking

(12:16):
Lebron family fun time.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Kenny Smith, not gonna like what you.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Just saidfew Kenny quote they lost the game by twenty
four quote. To see him get his first NBA basket
in this arena where he grew up not too far
away from here, it's an unbelievable moment for him, first
of all, for our family. It's just pretty cool to
be a part of it. It's pathetic. It's pathetic. This

(12:44):
is not your family, grab ass basketball.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
That it is.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
You got the whole media and making it doing a
parade for lebron Shame on all of you, Shame on
all of us. Shame on all of you to have
those quotes after you lose it game by twenty four
because a guy banged a fourteen footer down twenty two
to cut it to twenty. That is. It's embarrassing, it's humiliating,

(13:11):
and it's pathetic. It's just pathetic.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
It's our reality, Matt, did Bronny get in, did he
score well? Did the Lakers win? Did anyone else have?

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Hey, let's not pick up the third year option on
our on our first round draft pick, number seventeen. Overall,
that's been in one hundred minutes of NBA basketball, but
has dominated the G League and was the freshman of
the year in the Big Ten. It's cut that out.
Let's get that guy out of here. We can't develop
we couldn't possibly develop him. But Brownie, that's it.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
What man?

Speaker 3 (13:46):
What a ceiling this guy has I mean, I mean,
come on.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
They could have had Hibi hot.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Unbelievable moment for him. First of all, one shot and
then you take the net round twenty one and you
take the net. How embarrassing is that? It's it's it is.
It's EMBARRASSINGMA take the net?

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Right as the biggest NBA prospect in the last twenty years,
did he take the net when he's scoring a basket?

Speaker 3 (14:20):
It's no, I'm sure, I mean, who knows.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
I would guess know. I mean, it's just the whole.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
He's pationed zero. Bron, He's going to be patient zero
for this player development. How about Jalen hood Schafino. How
about he's patient zero? Or how about the first round pick? Yeah,
Theylton can actually need. It is panthetic and sad and sickening.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
It's not what they're doing because Lebron is whatever he is.
He's also an idiot or his people are idiots. They
tried to sue somebody over taco Tuesday, like they made
that up. They tried to sue somebody over talking in
a barber shop, which means they're going to have to
sue every presidential candidate ever and Eddie Murphy and in.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Copulate Tuesday and Barbershop Talk, I came up with these things.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
So if you think about those those things from Lebron
and some of the other stuff they've done, which is
really misleading, really misleading in a lot of different ways
at a very sensitive time in our society. If you
look at the stuff Lebron's done over the years, you say, Okay, well,
I understand this stuff with his son, it's right instep
with all the other stupid crap he's done over the years.

(15:33):
But when you look at the way everybody seems to
be completing in line with it and celebrating, and yeah,
complicit's the word. That's what's the most offensive. That's what
makes it pathetic.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Again, you want to do this in Cleveland or Memphis
or some other secondary marker, even there would be it's offensive.
But it's the Lakers and you're trying to push this
on the LA media and an historic franchise like the Lakers.
It makes it doubly irri eating because they've allowed an
individual to take over one of the greatest brands globally

(16:06):
in all of sports.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Where's the net right now? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (16:09):
For a kid that can't play. Sorry, Kenny back.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
You think Tanisha's got it.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
It's around his neck like Jalen Hoods Schafino had it
around his neck when they won the Big ten tournament.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
And on all fours won the tournament's on all fours,
lapping it up like a dog dish. It's pathetic, it
really is. I would look in the those guys and
be like, gosh, what have I becomequed?

Speaker 3 (16:32):
But you don't need a ging stop hand rot Polinka.
Put the money in your pocket. The guy does not
need a salary. He does nothing. He allows Lebron James
and Rich Paul to run this BS so just there's
no reason for him. He may be a he may
be a competent, exceptional general manager. He does nothing. He
lets this freaking organization in this idiot run rough shot

(16:54):
over your franchise. For shame, for shame, indeed.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
For shame, Ronnie. This is the song of the day.

Speaker 6 (17:06):
There can only be one song of the day. The
Dodgers Song is our Song of the Day from legendary
entertainer and lifelong Dodger fan Danny k who recorded this
novelty tune in nineteen sixty two. A celebratory song to
congratulate the Los Angeles Dodgers for capturing that elusive World
Series trophy and exercising the demons of the past, for

(17:27):
long suffering Dodger fans not only in LA.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
But all over the world, who.

Speaker 6 (17:33):
Can now revel in celebration as the city of LA
has tasted the fruits of victory and is now once
again the city of champions. Congratulations to the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Eks, Ronnie. We'll be right back with the great Don
McClain coming up.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Next, got Clippers basketball tonight's seven thirty PM tip pregame
at six thirty. Yes, the Dodgers have crowned, have been
crowned twenty twenty four World Series champions. The parade will
be tomorrow. You'll hear it all here on your home
of the Dodgers. But the play by play rolls on

(18:09):
beginning tonight Clippers Sons seven thirty PM. Adam Auslin with
the pregame at six thirty.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
And joining us right now, the BFF of our show.
Don McClain was in not long ago as a co host.
Clippers and Lakers are underway. We'll have college basketball soon.
Nobody's better than Don McClain, Big Ten Network, Ballely Sports CAA,

(18:36):
the leading scorer in the history of the Pac twelve.
Here are to the people, the next ass he kisses
will be the first. Now, Don, you have long been
lauded in the leagues for your managerial prowess in youth
baseball over the years. How do you relate to Dave

(18:56):
Roberts and his success and the Dodgers World Series that
we've all been watching.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
Well, I'm happy for him, Pete, because he's taken a
lot of incoming the last couple of years based on
decisions and people thinking that they know more than him,
and you know, they didn't work out. But it's not
like you're gonna win a world championship every year. But
I was happy for him that they broke through this
year and kind of was able to silence a lot
of those people that didn't think he was right for

(19:23):
the job, or didn't used analytics or whatever it was.
But now nobody can say anything because they won the
whole thing.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Yeah, Don, just to as we shift, Look, it's great
they win. We all celebrate parade tomorrow nine thirty am.
Coverage starts here on a five to seventy Elis spot.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
I'm gonna have a great view.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
He's so tall, exactly right, see over all those people
running up and down freaking grand or fifth or first,
wherever the hell it's going to be the uh because
correct me if I'm wrong. You had Jalen Hood Shapino.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
Right, I did.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
Yeah, what do you make of them declining his thirty
year option? When the guy lit up the G League
and I laid all of one hundred minutes in the NBA.
It's one of the craziest things I've ever seen.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
Well, he's had some health problems too, and you never
know if that's a factor or not. It was Look,
it was a bad fit from the start. I thought
like when they drafted him, I was like, oh no,
because of what he does. Playing with Lebron, he wasn't
going to be able to do what he does best,
which is run a team and get everyone involved and

(20:25):
get his own and have the ball in his hands.
And so I kind of had a feeling it wasn't
going to work out. And I have a feeling that
the Lakers have recognized that we don't know how long
Lebron's going to play, But I just think it was
a bad fit from the start, and he's going to
have to go somewhere else and earn it, basically start over,
which is unfortunate because he's a great kid, he works
hard at it, and what he does just from day

(20:47):
one to me just never fit with the Lakers.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
What do you make of their start? And I don't
know if you've kind of gotten any feedback of the job. Look,
we all are wondering if this thing's going to work
with a guy as young who's never coached before in
JJ Redick, what do you make of the early returns?

Speaker 4 (21:03):
It seems to look a little different, doesn't it. And
maybe that happens with every new hire. When you get
a new coach in there, everybody's a little re energized
because it's different and different way of looking at things,
different way of doing things. But I told Pee when
you were gone, Matt, I have a feeling this Rhetick
thing is going to work. I don't know why I
say that, because there's nothing to go off of because
he's a first year head coach. But I just had

(21:25):
a feeling that this would work. Now we're only five
games in and they're what three and two, which isn't
set in the world on fire. But to me, I've
watched all their games, but I've watched a couple of them.
It just seems and feels a little different. And he's
gotten you know, Anthony Davis is playing as good as
anybody in the league right now. And so if he
got to him and maybe figured out, you know, different

(21:45):
different looks for him, putting him in different positions to
you know, make him look better and play better. I
mean that's a pretty good start.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
The one and only Don McClain is our guest. He
leads the league take an ass and that's why we
haven't Did you get over to the into it Dome?

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Don?

Speaker 2 (22:04):
It seems like it's more of the Dome itself is
more of a star than the Clippers are.

Speaker 4 (22:09):
It's I've said on our first show last Wednesday that
you know, I've done some so I hadn't been over
there yet, so last Wednesday is my first time. But
I was looking at pictures and videos and kind of
reading up on all the stuff that was going on,
and I was like, Wow, this is really impressive. And
then when you get there, it's even more impressive than
what you think you're going to see. That Halo board

(22:30):
is incredible, and the wall is such a different look.
You know, I've been like you guys have, I've been
in a million arenas and just the look of it
is pretty cool. And then when you fill it with
fans going straight up to the top, it's a it's
a really cool thing. And that that place and no
one would be surprised, should be surprised by that. Steve
Balmer's done everything first class since he's gotten there, and

(22:52):
but that, yeah, that into a dome is something to see.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
What kind of what can you you share about? Again,
it's early and you know, hopefully Kawhile get healthy sooner,
yeah later, But kind of what are we looking at
with this team this season? Paul George is out, but
a lot of the you know, same players besides him
are still there.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
Yeah, in Norman Palace taking on more of an offensive role,
that's pretty clear that he's taken over for PG. Not
that he is PG, but he's playing really well right now.
I think the hard part, Well, first of all, you
got to start with they have to be really good defensively.
If they're going to win more than people think, they're
going to have to be good defensively every night. Because
they just don't have as much as they had offensively

(23:33):
in the past with Kawhi and PG and everyone else where.
If you didn't have a great night defensively, you could
still win games because you could overwhelm people with your offense.
Well that's kind of not the case anymore. And the
thing that concerns me a little is putting so much
on James Harden night in in, night out to not
only facilitate get guys involved, but also get his own

(23:54):
And in that first game against Phoenix, he played, he
played really well and the game went to over time,
but because he had so much of a load and
so much usage in that game, he was worn out
by the end of the game. And I just you
worry about that being the case on a lot of
nights where it's a tight game. Harden's got to play
way more minutes than you want him to. He's got

(24:16):
the ball in his hands almost every possession. And does
he get worn down as this season goes on. We
don't know that, but it has to be a concern
watching these first four games. It's just how much responsibility
he has in the outcome of the game for the
Clippers on the offensive side.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Is there any inkling about Kawhi or anything. Anybody's heard
anything written on the win anything.

Speaker 4 (24:41):
I haven't heard anything. You know, it doesn't sound like,
you know, reading into what Lawrence Frank or anyone else
has said, it doesn't sound like it's a really long
term thing. But we also haven't heard it's going to
be next week or the week or you know, anything
like that. So we're just gonna have to wait and see.
But that's going to be an issue as well, because

(25:01):
you know, on any team, you start a season and
you play a good rip of games, five, ten, fifteen,
twenty games where you kind of get used to how
you're playing. Now they're going to have to incorporate Kawhi
back into that, So you wonder if that's going to,
you know, interfere with their progression as a team. He's
so good. I don't think it will be a problem,
but it is something that they're going to have to

(25:21):
deal with whenever he comes back.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
What did the what did the Clippers create with this
Oklahoma City exchange that they have made? My god, that
team looks like a buzzsaw. They own all their draft
picks through twenty thirty. Is they're young and I know
it's four games, but you just kind of saw what
they did last year. Everybody comes back, they're a year older.
Are we looking at like maybe one of the next
great teams? Considering how accomplished they are at such a

(25:44):
young age.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
You have to think that Hartenstein's not even playing And
I thought that was a big time pick up for
them in the offseason so that Holding doesn't have to
play the five all the time. And yeah, I mean, look,
Sam Presty, and I've said this for years, really knows
what he's doing. And I think a lot of people
haven't recognized that because they haven't won really until last

(26:06):
year when they were first in the West. But I
think people are now seeing what he was doing the
last four or five six years with draft picks and
trades and just kind of that roster construction. And now
you're right mad like they're going to be good for
a really long time, unless you know, the injuries start
to happen, because their core now is really good obviously,

(26:27):
and they still have guys to add. So you wonder,
does he use those draft picks to draft as well
as he's drafted in the past, or do use those
draft picks to go out and add veteran guys to
make them even better.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
All right, don what time are you getting out to
Spring Street tomorrow and who's coming with you in the
family cooler? How are you going to handle it?

Speaker 4 (26:49):
Unfortunately, I'm not going to make it because it's too close.
College is starting on Monday, and I'm going to UCLA
practice tomorrow morning to get caught up on them, so
I will not be making parade. But obviously it'll be
a good time for everybody, and the Dodger fans and
people have been waiting waiting for this for a few years,
so it should be a tremendous celebration.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
All right, last one, you mentioned college, So let's go
Cooper Flag. How many NBA players do you think he's
better than right now? Percentage of the NBA.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
Well, here's the thing with Cooper Flag. He's been in
our gym the last two summers for a couple of weeks,
and he's a freak athletically. Offensively, he's still got a
lot of room to grow. He's not a confidence shooter yet.
He can make a shot, but it's going to be
fascinating to watch people guard him this year. In what

(27:44):
role John Shire has him playing on the offensive end
because what he's really good at getting a rebound, bringing
in transition and finding people. Now when he gets into
the half court, that's where it becomes a little bit
more of a problem because people are not going to
close hard to him. They're going to him shoot until
he proves he can really shoot. So to answer that
question is tough because athletically he's probably an above average

(28:08):
NBA athlete at this point at his size, but in
terms of game and offensive game, he's behind NBA players.
But the sky's the limit for this kid because he
wants to work. He understands who he is as a player,
he understands what he has to work on to get better,
and he'll do it. And so this isn't going to

(28:29):
be like and I know, the hype train around everything
everyone does in life now with social media and everything.
This isn't going to be he waltzed into the NBA
and gets twenty five at night. It's not no matter
how no matter how good he plays this year at Duke.
But what NBA people see is you start with the athleticism,

(28:50):
his ability to affect the game offensively and defensively. With
that athleticism and what they see at one, two, three years.
When that offensive game does catch up, he's going to
be a multi time All Star for sure.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
The one and only Don McLain, a hero to the people.
High five him if you're tall enough out at the
parade on the way out, pe.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
I rarely do this to you because we've been friends
for a long time and I've been on your show
for a million years. But I'm gonna we're gonna have
to go to corrections and retractions. No, yeah, we are. Sorry,
Let's let's hit it.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
With corrections and retractions.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
It is no longer bally sports. Oh that's right, Sports Network.
My bad, that's tight. I'm getting used to it too, right, Hey.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
We're happy, FanDuel. Uh you know, kept it on the
airwaves there.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
I thought you were going to correct me and be like,
I'm not gonna be at the parade.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
Well I'm not.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
But thank you, Don. Say hi to Mick for us
and appreciate you joining us. Enjoy the victory, let it,
let it soak in like your old UCLA buddy. Eric
Harrolson Dave Roberts are doing right now.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
Good down good Dodgers fan, Duel Sports Network, Clippers Basketball,
Adam Auslin right here, Carlo, and a running diary on Twitter.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
We're keeping our running diary going.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Yes we are.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
Dodger Talk. Three things Thursday, College football whip, still a
come on the Petro. Somebody showing ampire seventy LA sports
on this crunchy group. Thursday.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
They tell you to don McLain. Remember parade coverages tomorrow.
The parade starts at eleven at City Hall, but our
coverage starts at nine thirty with Tim cats As. The
Dodger celebration will conclude at Dodger Stadium, where Tim will be,
David Vassi, Kirsten Watson going to be on double decker buses.
So be sure to tune into your home of the
twenty twenty four World Series champion Dodgers beginning at nine

(30:57):
thirty am tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Well, real quick, Matt, the Yankees weren't coming back from
a three to nothing deficit, and you were right to
bring a flippant attitude toward the naysayers and your DMS
and your correspondence, and we were once again being attacked
for our early celebration of the Doyers when they went
up three nothing the other day. People started to get

(31:25):
really upset when things didn't look good last night. The
text also started to wear it. F you Fatrose and
F Matt Lazy Eye Smith. You guys are the Jinxes.
This one goes after Kate's, Kate's and all his parade crap.
He'll be banished, He'll be producing la Conal Dolson ninety

(31:45):
eight point nine FM and TJ. When the Dodgers lute
Game seven, this one says, I told David Vasse this
would happen, and he wasn't having it. But it was
the most predictable outcome. This is all when the Dodgers
were down there, down five to nothing. Just remember this, though,
and this is a real stat. The Yankees are the

(32:06):
only team since earned runs became a stat in nineteen thirteen,
to blow a five run lead, to allow five unearned runs,
to commit three plus errors, to commit catcher's interference, and
commit a bak all in the same game.

Speaker 3 (32:28):
It's a lot.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
No one's ever failed that hard epic fail, and one
wonders what could have been if Coppo Bianco and his
eighty sidekick were allowed back.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
In the game with Jason Peter exactly right, Jason Coppo
Bianco are in there. They win that game, no doubt.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
And I'm also just tickled that Magic Johnson was able
to muscle his way up to the front of the
celebration at the podium and sent out a self celebratory
tweet about the fifteen rings now that he has. I
now have fifteen rings, very much on brand.

Speaker 3 (33:04):
Congratulations, Magic, way to go.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
I got one more text from you. Has Matt not
learned anything from vic taking accountability for your own actions?
Mister Smith, you should be suspended. This was all when
the Dodgers were down five.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
It's a nine inning game, which I had to do
because people were doing the same thing to me in
the DMS hand. Oh that's right, and I was just
kept nine innings, nine innings nine.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
But you didn't know that they were going to give
up an epic five run lead.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
I did not know they would commit three errors in
the same adia I have a catcher's interference a bar.
Did not anticipate that. You are absolutely right.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
More great sports stocks still to come on. M II
