Speaker 1 (03:37):
We have a Chargers Titans to give away from BJS
in Huntington Beach, So don't miss.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
That show. All right, It's time for the word of.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
The day, I mean, with his words, the word of
the day, Matt.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Today's word of the day is scapegoat. As you know,
USC quarterback meller Ma from Alimany who trying to transfer
to modern day COVID and all that, but it's been
very loyal to USC. Hung around, became the starter, and
he's thrown some pretty bad picks this year, probably as
we detailed yesterday, because Lincoln Riley has him throwing the
ball too much. But he was benched yesterday and his mother,
(04:21):
Emily conver Moss oh oh, who's not an unattractive, not
an unattractive woman for a mom of a quarterback there,
you know, kind of like Stacy's mom if you know
what I'm saying, got.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
It going on?
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (04:39):
She texted a Dwight Eisenhower quote that said, the search
for a scapegoat is the easiest of all hunting expeditions,
all bunch of the boots. So Miller Moss's mom is
literally subtweeting Lincoln Riley. How about that? And one thing
(05:03):
to realize about the Miller Moss benching is that USC
is on a bye week, and that means like we've
been doing because Matt, who embodies the LA media better
than you and I, nobody punches the poots harder. Nobody, nobody, nobody,
(05:24):
nobody punches the poots harder than you and I. USC
is on a bye week. Lincoln Riley did not want
to take two weeks of getting punched in his mid
section by the media bashing him, putting Scott wolf On
saying how much he sucks. He needed to change the
narrative and give the media a new story to chase,
(05:46):
like the like the the dog chases the snassages wagon
across the floor at the Commerciace. So instead of the US.
He buzz being about how the coach stinks and everybody
can sells ass.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
I can smell your.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Lenada Bay ass from here. It's now about a quarterback change,
more of a political move than a performance move. So
a salute Matt to Emily knor Moss, who saw it
coming and with her very very comely looks on X
(06:31):
at Emily Kavner with a k Moss. It's the last
tweet she sent out one day ago. Only two hundred
and sixty eight likes it. Says the search for a
scapegoat is the easiest of all hunting expeditions. And then
there's all kinds of people that have commented. I think
(06:54):
my ex teammate, Billy Miller commented.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
She reponds to all the comments do, by the way,
not good Gage.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
I'm sorry, but I was at the Maryland game. That
interception of twenty eight fourteen should have been the end.
Kid can't win just the way it is. Thank God
for the portal. And she writes back, weird because he
got him back up fourteen at the end of the quarter.
I guess some people are just built to be quitters.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
You're wearing it, Billy, She got you.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
And then Jaden some other guy writes when he throws
three interceptions and they don't run the ball in the
last drive, you can say what you want, and she writes,
glad to see you took my feedback and change your handle.
You're a true pillar of conviction.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
She's awesome.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
I love this lady.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
The one says was Rattler the scapegoat when they switched
to Williams. No, it's time for a change, and she
writes false equivalently a hole. She didn't write a hole,
but then it's right. The search for a QB that
can run and extend to play just makes more sense.
And she writes, yes, let's focus on extending. And the
(08:02):
guy spelled extending wrong and she spelled it wrong like him.
So she's just working, dude.
Speaker 6 (08:07):
Read the one from Carson beck agenda the comments she responded.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
To, just make sure Miller has my AMA's gatorades ready
on the sideline.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Oh no.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
And then Emily Kavner Moss writes back, thought that was
your job, bitch? That she didn't right, bitch, thought that
was your job?
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Oh right, you're too.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Busy splitting time, hate trolling and losing your money on
of only fans. Wow, and then somebody under that's like,
that's right, I like.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Cooker, this is on Twitter, this is on Instagram.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Act Twitter, Yes, it's really something like she's working, And
I bet Miller Moss was like, Mom, don't make me
fun on your pillow too, Mom, I feel one building up.
The search for escapegoat is the easiest of all hunting expeditions.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
It's my baby. I'm not going to take his emotion
sitting down.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
I gave bert to that sharp, ironic looking face, to
that billow farder.
Speaker 7 (09:15):
Now if he does go to the portal, you think
the other teams will be like, Miller, talk to us
about your mom and these comments on Twitter?
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Please?
Speaker 6 (09:21):
Yeah, do we have to worry about her, like going
after us?
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Can you control this woman?
Speaker 1 (09:27):
And she's got a face that looks very sharp and
angry as well, And that's that right, I'm.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Here for it.
Speaker 5 (09:32):
Well, I mean, I guess it would make sense that
it is genetics that are passed down my sharp features
and now your sharp features.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
That's right, that's right, Matt, my fat buttt your fat
butt sitting by the fire.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
It's right.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
It's time for the number of the days.
Speaker 5 (09:46):
My number number of the day one hundred and forty
nine turns out being rich. And I'm talking rich, not wealthy,
because wealthy you got whatever net jets in your own
private plane and all that. But rich, it's kinda We
got Thanksgiving Week coming up. It is supposedly and annually
the worst traveling weekend or worst travel week of the year.
(10:09):
If you're traveling week, I am. I will be traveling
this Thanksgiving week. Thankfully I got the TSA pre save
my middle daughter, who I bark at every day to
try take care of this. But if you don't, you're
pretty much screwed. And you're getting to the airport two
and a half hours early so you don't miss your flight,
and then you spend those two and a half hours
standing in the TSA line.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
But it's not if you're Matt Smith.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
If well, I do not have the kind of money
to throw at this, but perhaps some of our listeners do,
or we can just lament that we don't. If you
have two hundred dollars per year to join and maintain
your membership in clear Oh yeah, the Clear Pass, the
Clear Path, which is at lax in Long Beach. It
(10:52):
is not at John Wayne. I don't think it's at
Burbank either. But Clear just announced. Because it's never enough
to give them two hundred bucks, they got to figure
out a way to upsell you. They just announced and
introduced Clear Ambassador Assist one hundred and fifty bucks per
(11:13):
Ambassador Assist appointment you hit the curb, Clear's ambassador meets you,
walks you straight to the front of the line and
through security, and then gets you to your gate.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
It's like a wheelchair guy for the rich.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
Yes, curb to gate one hundred and forty nine bucks,
book ten hours in advance minimum. But considering we just
talked yesterday about a Peter Malarpolo being one hundred fifty bucks,
I don't know what's the better use some money, you know,
one hundred feow?
Speaker 2 (11:43):
I mean I want the five hundred dollars puffy vest
like we fly.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
One hundred and forty nine dollars to have somebody meets
you at your car and walk you to your gate.
I don't know if I want to be seen on
the Clear cart cruising through the airport with people point
out the dude, you just spent one hundred and fifty
bucks to do that.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Man, just go sit at the gate.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
I don't know, Matt.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
You know, we've shown for the rest of us, we've
shown some very very cocksure attitude throwing money and problems
at the airport of the pass.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
That's why I did the story Nobody throws money.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Nobody throws money at the airport? Like, did that really
help you at all? I mean, you're just standing in
the safe you shut.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
Up, shut up. It was worth forty bucks. I'm getting
on twenty people ahead of you.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yeah, and everybody's gonna sit on my lap anyway. It
doesn't matter, all right, Yeah, I'd pay for that. Who cares, Ronnie.
This is the song of the day.
Speaker 8 (12:41):
Middle of the Road is our song of the day
from a short lived band from Birmingham, England called Denim.
Because the Petros and Money Show is blowing in the
wind like a tumbleweed right down the middle of the road,
passing the meaty portion of the week with three hours
of great sports talk that'll get us into Clippers Basketball
featuring the Philadelphia seventy six ers and Intuit Dome featuring
(13:05):
Adam Osland as well. Who'll be hanging out there trying
to take selfies and get you ready for that Clippers
Countdown show coming up at six o'clock.
Speaker 5 (13:15):
Hey you Runnings, Max, Matt Worthy, Uh, yes, Worthy next
and Al.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Davis is out, but Worthies aren't.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
That's right McK cronin.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
In one hour, Petro said Money AM five seventy LA

podcast there and catch up on what you might have
(14:04):
missed later.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Matt. We are so grateful.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
To have James Worthy as a friend of the show
back for another year to bless our listeners with knowledge, humor, memories,
and a little touch of his greatness. One of the
greatest lakers of all time. The number hangs in the
Banner and the Rafters Finals, MVP, Many Rings, Emmy Award
(14:38):
winner at Spectrum Sportsnet, and a champion at the University
of North Carolina. Champion at all levels ever since he
came out of Gastonia, North Carolina, and he joins the
Petrosen Money Show where the Lakers have not a night
in Tunisia, but a night in Memphis. And we always
(14:59):
appreciate the only James Worthy. What's cracking, James?
Speaker 2 (15:02):
How are you.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Here? We go again? What's up? Baby French? Off the
world champion Dodgers man. I'm still high off of the
Dodgers man, so celebrate a little bit more. But we
are at the beginning the NBA season, so it's good
to be back with you guys.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
It's great to have you.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
Did you light up one of your signature cigars and
do your signature slow clap for the Dodgers or is
that reserved for only the Purple and Gold?
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Oh? Hell no. I put my Dodger cap on and
I had a Dodger LA T shirt and I gave
the big it was a Dodgers clap. Yes, I did, absolutely,
I had. I had my Don Newcombe bobblehead out. You
know what I'm saying. Number thirty six from the Brooklyn
Dodgers all good.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
It is always great to see a championship one in
the city. When you saw that Dodger parade, did it
remind you of celebrating with your Lakers teams over the
years and the way the city kind of turned out
for you guys?
Speaker 3 (16:07):
Absolutely, you know, I was just so happy that the
Dodgers were able to have a parade. I think you
can correct me, but I think the last time they
won during COVID right, they didn't get to have a parade.
So it was just nice to see some of the
guys who were on that championship team. I just the
organization at home, you know, the salespeople, everyone that works
(16:30):
for the Dodgers just have an opportunity to enjoy that
celebration downtown.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
James Worthy joins us for the first time on the
twenty twenty four to twenty twenty five campaigns driven by
your Southern California four dealers. If there is one thing
we like, it's choices. Find yours with Ford F one
fifty gas hybrid or all electric. What you choose to
do with that much powers up to you. Top and
smart can only be called f one fifty.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
It's early.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
It's only a few games, James, But what can you
say about what you've seen from jj Reddick, guy's never
been a coach before. How's it looked so far?
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Well, you know, I like the way he communicates. I
think when we talked the last time, we talked about
maybe you know, not having the experience as a coach,
but as an analyst. I listened to him a lot,
and you know, he seems to know what he's talking about.
And I think he has a system in place, at
(17:31):
least offensively thus far. That I think the guys that
bought into the philosophy and I think they have bought
into his totality as a coach. It's an early sample.
I think getting out of the gates was it was
a good thing, even though the last couple have not
been up the par especially against the Detroit team. But
(17:55):
teams are getting better. You know, Cleveland is a better
team cutting him with Detroit. If you don't, you know,
if you don't come out and take care of business.
So they got to remind themselves early right now. All
the games they lost it they shouldn't have lost. Last
year they could have propelled them into a better scene.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
I know, look that the fans are constantly checking the
box score to see if Briannie gets in. But I
think we all kind of know the rookie that's going
to mean the most of this team is Dualt Connect
And it's not like it's a ton of minutes, but
it's still sixteen. That's a good rotation player. And it's
a guy that's you know, putting in about eight points
per game, and he's shooting the ball pretty darn well.
Like what have you seen so far? And you know,
(18:38):
some of that preseason hype started to get the buzz
going on Dalton. How about his start to the season
and whether or not you think that role will grow
and if he can become one of these you know,
twenty twenty two minute per game players.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Yeah, you know, he he knows the game. He's savvy.
You know, I don't know yet, I haven't seen enough,
but I know he can shoot, he can score on
offensive end. They even run plays for him. I think,
you know, once he gets used to, you know, understanding
the totality of the game. On the defensive end, you know,
(19:11):
a lot of times we don't see the mistakes that
coach is seeing films and stuff. I'm not sure if
that's why he's not getting the more minutes, but I
think as a rookie, to be able to be implemented
into that rotation already is you know, that's a good sign.
The guy can shoot, man, and not only that if
(19:31):
you take away a shot. He knows how to pump, fake, relocate,
he knows how to move without the ball. He's a
decent passer. Twenty three years old, so he's been around
and so he's not like your ordinary rookie, and I
think I think Coach Reddick sees that, and especially with
the three point ball needing to be more consistent, he
(19:54):
might be someone that they look too early in the rotation.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
The one and only James Worthy is our guest. We
love talking to him. A hero to the people, James,
do you see I mean, Anthony Davis is always a
very impactful player. Do you see a different ad under
JJ Reddick? Do you see him doing anything different or
being challenged in a different way?
Speaker 3 (20:16):
You know, I think he's challenging himself right now at
thirty one years old, still tender. Terry West used to
always say, you really don't mature as a player to
you twenty nine, thirty thirty one. So he's had the talent,
not taking anything away from his All Star Olympic status,
but I think he's tired of not being mentioned amongst
(20:37):
the top defenders centers, not being mentioned for Defensive Player
of the Year. I know that the Lakers record has
a lot to do with that, but I think he's
at that point being around a bunch of Olympians again
to work at play seventy six games, you know, last year.
So I think he's you know, he's at that age
(20:59):
where he knows Lebron is you know, still pretty good,
but you know, he's he knows it's his time. And
I love the fact that coach Reddick said, hey, man,
we're going to run things through you. So that's that's
the extra incentive to make sure that you're mentally ready
every night. And I think that's what we've seen thus far.
Speaker 5 (21:21):
I know it's like it's early, it's our first conversation,
but everything that Lebron does is put under a microscope,
dissected every which way possible. It's not even ten percent
of games yet, but it is a career low in
field goal attempts. Is that just circumstance of the seven games,
or as you said, Reddick came in and said, thanks,
(21:42):
going to run through ad that's how this is going
to go. Do you think that's something that we should
maybe expect this year.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
I think I don't. I don't think we're going to
have to depend on Lebron to I saw as much
and handle the ball as much, where he's kind of
sometimes forced to be the only guy. I think Reeves
is going to take a little bit of that pressure off.
He's a great ball handler, good decision maker. You know,
he really wants Dlo to step up and be that guy.
(22:10):
So and you know, we don't need to work Lebron.
I know he's still Superman, but he's forty years old
and at some point, you know, you have to say, look,
we got we gotta take it easy. We can't continue
too So hopefully that's the plan. And when we need Lebron,
you know, like the other night he went off on
a bunch of threes or what he did for the
(22:30):
Olympic team, you know, he can step up when he
needs to. But I think for the Lakers to be successful,
they're gonna have to be more unpredictable, and they're gonna
have to have guys consistent every night, like Rui d
Lo Reeds is already there, but they're gonna need you know,
a D's already there. They're gonna need a bench, you know.
That's that's one of the issues that they're gonna have
(22:53):
to work that they're worried about is they're not getting
enough base production. So they got to find a way
to get you know, seven, you know, six seven people
involved every night. That's what the good teams are doing.
And they're unpredictable. So I like where they're started, and
they just have to really not get off track here early.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
Speaking of Superman, James, do you like John Moran? Do
you like watching him play? Was there a guy that
used to just fly at the rim like that back
in your time?
Speaker 3 (23:24):
Did you see that three sixty who move now? Up
until now? Michael Jordan had that one move against dust
remember in ninety one where he went up with the
right hand. This play just took that one over man.
That's crazy how acrobatic he is in the air. It's
almost like he's a ballet dancer that jumps, you know,
(23:47):
and spins and he's got something that he wants to prove.
You know, he had a growing season last year. He
had to reconcile with himself and he's like, look, I
don't want Anthony Edwards to be the I'm going to be.
You know, remember I was the talk of the face.
So he's he's you know, he's he's back and he's
(24:07):
he's exciting to watch and one of the top figures
in the league.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
Last thing, James and again James Worthy here for the
first time this season is brought to you by the
Ford F one fifty driven by your Southern California Ford Dealers.
We love the choices you can get the F one
fifty and gas hybrid are all electric. You choose what
to do with all that power. F one fifty tough
and smart. You got Wembin Yama, you have Chet Holmgren,
(24:37):
and tonight you're gonna see Zach Edy, who's seven foot four.
What do you make of these giant dudes? And I
can kind of think of Samson.
Speaker 4 (24:44):
I don't know. I guess Mark Eaton's another one. How
would you.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
Approach going into a game where you had one of
these these guys that had like a eleven foot with
you know reach, Well, how do you attack him?
Speaker 4 (24:56):
What's the trick?
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Well, back in the day, I mean Mark Eaton will
slow as a turtle, you know what I mean. You
know we had guys like that who were tall. Ralph
Samson was a little bit mobile. He was a little
bit more mobile. But look at Winby. Wommy's like Steph Curry,
so he's even more fluid. Shoots a three, even though
(25:20):
raphus to try to shoot it. You have to get
them in an open court. Dude. If they're not in
an open floor where you can get buckets before the
defense set up, it's going to be a tough night.
I mean, you can be taking a shot in Inglewood
and Winby could be in Glendale and he could you
(25:42):
know what, by the time you release the shot, he
can get to it. This guy is incredible. He's like
a prime mantis on the basketball courts. And so you
have to get them in an open court. The other
only thing else I can do is say, don't try
to flip it. You got to take it to their body.
If you can get contact why you're trying to make
a shot, you likely to get a foul called on him.
(26:04):
But other than that, man you have to say a
few Hail Mary's and you know call of today, the
great James Worthy.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
We're so happy to have him back for another year
on the show, very grateful for the relationship. And he
is our conduit to one of the most famous hosts
in all of America, Peter McGee on Spectrum Sportsnet. So
we appreciate you, James. Have a great night and we'll
talk to you soon. All right, you got it, Thank you, James,
(26:33):
and we'll be back with more great sports talk on
MVII seventy LA Sports. On this we just won't be
defeated Wednesday, as we are headed to Clipper basketball after
we just had a long involved conversation about the Lakers
and didn't ask one thing about the Clippers.
Speaker 5 (26:56):
That throw some money. HAYM five seventy LA Sports Live
everywhere on the iHeart Ready. We have still to come
next hour mccronin will join us, and still to come tomorrow.
A live appearance at the Huntington Beach Bjay's Restaurant and
brew House, Beach Boulevard and Edinger right there on the
corner sixteen zero six zero, a two to five pm
performance prior to Thursday Night Football happy hour specials and
(27:17):
ticket giveaways. We'd love to see you. We know you
better be there, You better be there. We'd love to
see Huntington Beach sixteen zero six zero Beach Boulevard right
off the four o five at Beach and Edinger two
to five pm tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
All right, Matt, we still got a lot of show.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
A big thank you to James Worthy who joined us
in the last segment and talked about Wembin Yama blocking
a shot from Glendale all the way across town, stepping
over the one thirty four and the four oh five
and slapping your shot that you shot from Inglewood. And
(27:58):
we talked a little bit about JJ Reddick and how
he seems to be evolving as a coach. So the
Lakers are in Memphis tonight. We have Clippers tonight, and
we will also have a conversation with our hero Mick
cronin UCLA brewin head coach. And I don't know if
I'm going to bring up to him. I don't want
(28:19):
to put that kind of pressure on him, but I
don't want to bring up to him that Tim Kates
just the other night, in the aftermath of this huge
Dodger celebration brought up that he feels as if U
c l A is a shoe in for the Final
four after watching them slap and he slap Rider all
around the other night on AM eleven fifty.
Speaker 5 (28:39):
Yeah, he would not respond well to that. That that
would that would do a little bit of damage, Tim
Kates would take Tim fatten.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
Yeah, if you heard it. And then then the band
backed him up. That little guy with the shorts and
the newsboy hat that that uh that that uh, Jim
Morah had kicks Jim Morrah had him kicked out of
the university, kicked off the sideline of the Rose Bowl.
That guy with the hat and the shorts, the yellow guy,
(29:08):
that guy started playing the horns behind Kate's speech, and
there was a lot of feeling in the air that
UCLA could be in the Final four after what Tim
Kates saw.
Speaker 7 (29:18):
I'm gonna go ahead and say it right now, Game
one UCLA Basketball, this to me is a Final four team.
Speaker 6 (29:27):
I truly believe this is the best.
Speaker 7 (29:29):
Team Ucla Mick Corns had Now in his six seasons,
they've gotten close and made runs with the Heimai.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
HOCKEYMI Hockey, who sang I.
Speaker 6 (29:38):
Got a feeling.
Speaker 7 (29:38):
I just do and I have not felt like this
about a UCLA basketball team in a long time.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Wow, and then crowded, crowned immediately had that guy fired
again for playing while the offense is out on the field.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Uh, but yeah, I love i'll players. I was only
trying to help. Don't do this to me.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
So Mick Cronin, Yes, we'll join us in our final hour.
A huge proponent of great sports talk and always been
a dear.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Sports talk and we won't play him.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
Kates's early prediction, Kates's overreaction, prisoner of the moment to hey,
we beat Ryder. Uh now, Matt, we are just just
waking up from the hangover of the Dodgers championship and parade.
And you had a great story yesterday about hey, why
(30:39):
are you even gonna worry about the stove?
Speaker 2 (30:42):
Why you?
Speaker 1 (30:43):
By Jehovah, there's gonna be a stova, But who cares?
Speaker 4 (30:47):
Who cares?
Speaker 2 (30:49):
Right?
Speaker 1 (30:49):
Let them worry about it because the Dodgers have won
and they're playing with house money and right now it's
all gravy, so to speak at a country bumpkin cafe.
But some news from something that seems like it was
a thousand years ago, though it wasn't is interesting to
people like our friend Daniel Jeremiah and all the people
(31:12):
we tried to get on the air that wouldn't come
on when the Padres and the Dodgers were playing. Remember
Mike Shilt, the Padre manager. Today, he was given a
two year contract extension that ties him to the San
Diego Padres organization through twenty twenty seven. They announced the
agreement today. He's fifty six. He went ninety three and
(31:37):
sixty nine on eleven win improvement, and by the time
the Dodgers ran into him, people were saying the Padres
were the best team in baseball and the Dodgers probably
had to beat the best team they had to play
in the playoffs when they had to beat the Padres
in that short series. So because of all that, Shilt
(32:00):
has been given a two year extension from the powers
that be in Don Diego de la Vega. Let's not
forget Matt sheltz emotional response to when Dave Roberts said
that Manny Machado, he took it back a day or
so later. But when Dave Roberts said, Mandy Machado threw
the ball at him, with a tent.
Speaker 9 (32:20):
I gott in this game to help players get the
most out of their guy given ability and to compete
on the field and respect the opponent. I'm not will
nor will I disparage another player on another team, especially anybody
I have managed in the past, Nor will I do
it to a collective team. So just just not how
(32:42):
I want to operate. I got a lot of respect
for their club, the players on their club, you know,
as far as Manny goes, you know, it's unfortunate people can't,
you know, move on from things from the past. I
thought Manny's exhibition of professionalism and leadership were on display
the other night in a very tough environment. He nor
(33:05):
I or anyone will post to be perfect. But Manny
has made some strides that are very impressive, both on
and off the field. It's been a privilege to witness that.
It's representative of m being our rightful Roberto Clemente nominee
award winner.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
Yeah what about the award to win it.
Speaker 9 (33:24):
I get the privileges seeing him along with our players
behind the scenes, do some really special things for young
people our community, and uh you know so yeah, yeah,
but people have their right clearly to share what they want.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Yeah, so remember that ability.
Speaker 5 (33:47):
You're going to maximize everything and I can cut out
of them and they're going to put my lips on
their their ass.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
How angry shilt was Matt? You know, we forget that?
And the preening peacock. Uh exactly of the great and
powerful irritant known as Manny Machado, the kid that pulled
the fire alarm and says, who me.
Speaker 4 (34:13):
Like profar he played it right, he got lucky.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
And tatis the peacock. I mean, it feels like so
long ago. It's water under the bridge. With the Dodger
fans were inflamed with hatred and anger. Now Dave Roberts
can sit back on Mookie Bets podcast and have a
laugh about the Padres.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
Listen to that.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
They really kicked their ass all year, all year. So
what were you? How were you feeling about it?
Speaker 10 (34:36):
I felt from my perspective, that was the World Series.
I felt that at that moment in time when we
started the postseason, they were one through twenty six, the
best team Warmson And when you play a team as
much as we played those guys, the novelty, the all
(34:57):
factor that was all gone. They were no longer afraid
of us. We're familiar. They beat us up in the
in the regular season, so they were hungry. They hadn't
won a championship, so I felt that that was gonna
be our biggest challenge, especially in a short series.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
You got San Diego and they they they really kicked
their ass all year, all year.
Speaker 4 (35:18):
Yeah, all year, all year.
Speaker 2 (35:21):
And it's a laugh.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Just like you said yesterday, Matt, let everybody else worry
about the hot stove by Jehovah gonna be Stova. Let
everybody worry about who said what or who said this,
or Shield got a couple of years, big deal, basking
the glory, the post coital depression. Hey, you know he
(35:47):
was upset, Matt. You know, you know people get upset.
You don't know what it's like.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
Oh please, Matt, very dry down there.
Speaker 4 (35:58):
Very dry for allergies.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
The Lakers are playing tonight. We talked to James Worthy.
Anthony Davis officially out in Memphis. Unfortunate, but sitting in
Memphis not surprises. Ass right on the bench, tell me
you getting treatment. Son demonized tonight. Okay, we'll be back
(36:25):
with more great sports talk. We got a whole other
hour Mick Crowlin's gonna join us final our fun fact
quick It's dead in a live Guy Bertie. The day
headed toward a Clipper game that you were mildly interested,
if at all, in,
