Dodgers in sync and down the green.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Petrosin money, drosin money, ros in money.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Rosy gratitude is when memory is stored in the heart
and not in the bind. Gonging now, Vic, thank you,
and welcome, ladies and gentlemen to the Petros and Money Show.
On this we just won't be defeated Wednesday. This what

(00:52):
am I Gonna do with this guy? Wednesday? This walk
your bike Wednesday, your home. We are of the twenty
twenty four World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers Live everywhere
on the iHeartRadio App. Big announcement last night that David
Vass teased us with when he was in Disneyland with

(01:13):
his family, and that was that Blake Snell's going to
be a Dodger and now Blake Snell Cy Young Award
Winner snell Zilla is a Dodger and the perspective on
that is amazing. And we will have that with David
Vassy in a matter of moments, and we are hopeful

(01:37):
that everything works out as.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Music at noon, Hopeful music at noon because we.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Have a pack schedule. We got David Vassy coming up
in a couple of minutes. We've got James Worthy in
the very next segment this afternoon. We're flexed back because
of Clippers versus Wizards. Pregame at three, timp off at

(02:09):
four right here on AMPI seventy LA Sports, And it's
a crazy Thanksgiving weekend around here. We got Thanksgiving NFL
triple header on Ami seventy Bears, Lions, Giants, Cowboys, Dolphins, Packers,
and then Friday Raiders Chiefs at noon the Tim Kates Special,
followed by Clippers versus Tea Wolves. Is that your broadcast him?

Speaker 3 (02:32):
No, it's Westwood Ones broadcast. Sorry, different broadcasts.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
But Matt Smith is out today. He is on his
way to see his family for Thanksgiving, and then he
will be in Atlanta with the Chargers on Sunday. Hard
to keep track of everybody on Sunday, Chargers versus Atlanta
at ten o'clock in or outside the perimeter. I don't

(02:56):
know where the stadium is in Atlanta at ten o'clock
on ninety eight seven there wasn't even written down. And
Saturday UCLA Fresno State, that's not even written down either.
We've got that coming up as well. So a lot
of play by play all weekend long as you would expect.
It's a sports station and it's Thanksgiving weekend. I'm leaving

(03:20):
town and going to East Lansing, Michigan.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
And you're excited about that, very very.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Replace excited with anxious. And there you have it. But
I did. I just a major victory for me because
what often happens in these situations when you take a
red eye, you have, which is very necessary before your meetings,
some time to rest in the hotel before you have

(03:46):
to get over to the facility and you know, sit
with the coaches for an hour. It's not the end
of the world. But if you don't book the hotel
for the night before, they won't let you check in
till like three o'clock, two o'clock, so you have to
have the hotel book for the night before so you
can get in early in the morning. And get some rest.

(04:07):
That's a venture move right there, vetanano vetanano all day.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Most people don't think about that.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
You get to check in well yeah, and then you
get rejected and you have a nervous breakdown in front
of some poor college student in Salt Lake City.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
I'm sorry, sir, there's somebody sleeping in your bed right now.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah, it's it's it. Trust me, and you're like, I
need a lid. So uh that's what's going on with me.
But really, to help people that really need help, Ami
seventy la Sports is teamed up with dream Center La,
serving fifteen hundred meals on Thanksgiving and raising money to
give ten thousand presents to those who need presents. It's

(04:42):
our annual season of giving. You can help by donating
at Ami seventy la sports dot com ort a dream
Center dot org. Tim Kates gave a thousand dollars yesterday
out of the goodness of his heart. We had Pastor
matt On. It's very nice. Yeah, help feed those and
need this Thanksgiving and help with toys for the kids
and holiday season. Twenty dollars buys one toy for one child.

(05:04):
One hundred dollars donation buys five kids, a toy a
MFI seventy la, sports dot com or dream center dot Org.
Before we get to David Vassa, Kates, what were your
reactions of the Blake Snell signing and how big of
a deal it is and how much it upsets people
like Daniel Jeremiah, who texted Matt and you and me immediately.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
I mean immediately he texted it.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
And then most of the people in our periphery were
talking about David Vassa because Dave has a relationship with him,
and I'm sure it's not as accurate as we'd like
to think, but people are giving Dave credit for the signing.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
As they should, partially for his relationship.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Well, how big of a deal is this signing? It's
how great is Blake Snell? I mean, give the people
some perspective.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
To me, it's a big deal because it's not a
former great picture at the end of his career. It's
also not an unproven foreign you're coming over from Japan.
This is a guy who has been a multi now
Cy Young Award winner, two time winner, had a great
twenty twenty four season once he got back in return
from his injury. That hurt him the first part of
this season, and you saw what type of guy he is.

(06:15):
He's a dominant pitcher in Major League Baseball and has
now done it in both leagues. He can pitch him postseason.
Dodger saw that certainly in the twenty twenty World Series
when he was with the Tampa Bay Rays. And he's hungry.
He's one of these guys who Andrew Freeman when he
was with you a couple of weeks ago, mention, we're
going to add to this roster, but when we do so,
we're gonna make sure we add guys that are hungry

(06:35):
and add guys that want to chase a ring and
that want to add something to this club that's going
to look for a repeat. So this is a big
move to bring it to bring in one of the
most dominant pitchers and a guy who's still got a
lot to prove and.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
A flaming hot stove. David Massey joins us.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
Now know somebody who was barbecue said, oh Lord Jesus,
is a pot on the stove, taw, and then the
smoke gap got brun.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Sat.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
David Vsse, a Fosse friend of Snell, joins us now
on your Southern California Toyota Dealer celebrity hotline. David Vasse's
phone is lighting up like a Christmas tree. Reportedly, I
don't know if he got out of the Magic Kingdom alive.
After Blake Snell announced last night that he was signing

(07:29):
with the Dodgers, Twitter blew up. Everybody's excited. David Vasse
at the real underscore DV, Spectrum, Sports Net LA and
of course right here on m FI seventy, LA Sports
and MLB Network. Joining us right now on the Petrosen
Money Show. What's cracking?

Speaker 5 (07:44):
Dave Well a lot for the Dodgers. They're the first
ones to strike this offseason. The defending World Series champions
land a much needed starting pitcher. Like I told you,
petros what ended the season? The way the Dodgers starting
pitching ended was not just magically rectified because they won

(08:06):
the World Series, they still need to fill out the rotation,
and Blake Snell was at the very top of their
priority list. In fact, the Dodgers met with Blake Snell
and Scott Boris before they met with Juan Soto and
Scott Boris a week earlier, So that just shows you

(08:27):
how high Blake Snell was on their priority list, and
also Blake Snell really wanted to be a Dodger. I mean,
that's evident by the reported deferrals out there. He wanted
to work with the Dodgers to be able to be here.
He wanted to be in southern California. Going back to
last year, he wanted the Dodgers to make a run

(08:48):
for him last off season and almost came to fruition
at the eleventh hour, but never really materialized. So Snell
and the have been eyeing each other for quite some time.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
And you've always kind of given us those hints. Dave,
how much did you know about this as it was happening.
No one really talked much about it. There wasn't was
there a lot of buzz that this was going to happen.
Most of the national talk has been about Soto. This
was a bit of a surprise. You were not surprised.

Speaker 5 (09:22):
I was not surprised. I was pretty aware of the
interest that Dodgers had in Snell, and obviously I knew
how much Snell wanted to be part of the Dodgers,
and you know, he's he's a guy the Dodgers want,
not only for the regular season, but no can deliver
and won't shy away from the bright lights in October.

(09:44):
This is not again, just about thirty starts in the
regular season. This is about a two times thy Young
Award winner, two times cy Young Award winner that can
perform in October. And you know, if if people want
to punch holes in his resume and say he's a
five and dive type of guy, well, what's year and

(10:07):
a half. That's five innings, one hundred pitches. He's learned
how to pitch deeper into games. He now has the
job security to be comfortable to go deeper into games
and realize that's more valuable than trying to get double
digit strikeouts, even though with at least one thousand inning pitch,

(10:30):
Blake Snell has the highest strikeout to nine inning ratio
all time in baseball history. So the Dodgers landed, in
my opinion, the best starting pitcher available on the market.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
David did the relationship previously with Andrew Freeman and Tyler
Glass now have any bearing on him coming to the Dodgers.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
Not with Tyler Glass, now with Andrew Friedman. It certainly did.
And you know, over the course of the last few
years is where I've interviewed Snell when he was on
the Padres or Giants. Andrew Friedman was a guy that
drafted him. That was Friedman's last draft in Tampa Bay,
where he drafted Blake Snell. And here's what Blake told

(11:15):
me about his relationship with Andrew Friedman.

Speaker 6 (11:18):
Time with the Dodgers. I have never seen a GM
have the type of relationship he has with players. What's
that about? And do you feel like that's what sets
him apart?

Speaker 7 (11:30):
Yeah, that's definitely right. I mean, he's just talks to
the guys. He's open, even in Tampa, Like I wasn't
in the big leagues. He talk to me a little bit.
But then when I talk to the guys that are
older that were in the big leagues, they all loved him.
They all said like, yeah, like he's a normal guy.
He talks to he tells you the truth. And that's
probably why he's so good here because I mean he
talks to people, he tells them the truth and lets

(11:52):
him feel appreciated and welcomed and that allows them to
play better. And it's got to be hard for anyone
to play here, you know, with all these with all
the fans, all the pressure for guys that aren't used
to it, and I bet you know he makes them
feel a little bit more comfortable.

Speaker 5 (12:08):
So that's just what Snell thinks of Friedman. I know
Andrew obviously thinks highly of Blake, and so does Clayton Kershaw.
I know for a fact Clayton has expressed how excited
he is to Snell that he has signed with the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Is he their ace now?

Speaker 5 (12:27):
I would say, Phil, I would say he's their ace.
If I'm picking an opening day starter in North America,
it's Blake Snell. If it's in Tokyo, Japan, I'm starting with,
obviously the countryman Yoshi Yamamoto as of now. And if
I'm picking who's starting Game one of a playoffs series

(12:48):
right now, of the Dodger choice is right now, obviously
a long ways away, it's Blake Snell. I mean, there's
two guys in this rotation that has multiple cy youngs.
One of them's Clayton Kershaw, the others Blake Snow.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
David.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Taking a wider look at this, people around baseball aren't happy.
Teams aren't happy with what the Dodgers are doing with
all the desferment of money, and now the Dodgers have
had it. Now five contracts worth one hundred million dollars
like in the last eighteen months, the same number as
the rest of Major League Baseball combined. Feels like a
lot of sour grapes. Everybody wanting now to make the
Dodgers now the knew evil empire in Baseball like the

(13:26):
Yankees were in the nineties.

Speaker 5 (13:29):
Yeah, I mean, obviously you can understand that feeling from
san bases outside of LA. That's what they're doing. And
I've always felt like the Dodgers should have been that
what they were doing in New York because this is
the second biggest market in the country and the Dodgers
definitely have the fan base to support this type of stuff.

(13:52):
And you just mentioned sour grapes. It's sour grapes because
these Dodger owners since day one, have not just been
one step ahead of everybody else, They've been five or
six or ten steps ahead of everybody else. And I
feel like these other teams are kicking themselves for thinking,

(14:12):
why didn't we defer money, Why didn't we think about this?
So it's going to be interesting when the current CBA
expires in twenty twenty seven, whether or not the owners
are going to restructure the way you're able to do business,
similar to the way the NBA try to kind of

(14:34):
shackle the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
David Massey is our guest with the latest on the
Blake Snell signing for the Dodgers, and they're going to
have a press conference next week. We're not sure when,
maybe Tuesday, I don't know, But Dave, what does it
mean for the other guys like Walker Bueller, ands tay
Oscar Hernandez and other guys that people are worried about signing?

Speaker 5 (14:58):
Well, obviously, Pet so the messages I'm getting on social media,
and you know, people that have my cell number, I
feel like it's expanding, not to your size, but it's
getting pretty close of Rando's just texted me anyway. It's
the mixed emotions by Dodger fans. They're excited that the

(15:20):
Dodgers signed Blake Snell, but in the same breath they're saying,
what about Bueller. I don't know how to answer that.
I feel like they are mutually exclusive because it's the
Dodgers aren't a tough spot with Walker Bueller. Yes, he
had an incredible October, but it was a very small

(15:40):
sample size, and the reality is he now has two
Tommy John surgeries. He missed a month and went to
Florida for a month because of a hip injury. So
they're in a tough spot depending on what Walker Bueller's
looking for. And you can't blame Walker Buehler, who had
an ERA to six for the majority of the season

(16:02):
was working back from the injuries I just mentioned, has
an incredible October and now has an opportunity to cash in.
Hard to hold, you know, hold that against him, and
hard to hold that against the Dodgers to say, you
know what, we're not sure we've got to They've invested
big money in three starters now in Glass, now Snell,

(16:25):
and Yamamoto. They're in a tough spot when it comes
to Walker Bueler.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Dave go ahead.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
The Petros people are so invested in what he did, though,
I mean, they're not ready to say goodbye after what
he did.

Speaker 5 (16:39):
I understand that. That's why it's such a tough situation
for the Dodgers. They could go into it emotionally Petros
and do what you and the rest of Los Angeles.
Watson sign them to you know, a four or five
year contract for one hundred plus million dollars. But is
that really the the smart you know, taking your heart

(17:03):
out of the equation right thing to do? You know,
Andrew Friedman's in a tough spot when it comes to that.
I'm not sure what other teams are offering Walker Dealer,
but I could tell you that there are at least
seven teams that are contenders that have checked in with him,
and he's getting a lot of interest.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
Last one for me, David, He's one Sie Young Awards,
He's gotten to a World Series, he hasn't won a
ring yet. You know him pretty well. Is this something
that's eating at him right now and really driving him?
The chance to win a championship with this Dodgers team
and maybe one of the factors that brought him to La,
A chance, a real chance to win a ring.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
Oh, without a doubt, without a doubt, he wants to win.
I know people are talking Dynasty. A lot of people
believe Blake Snowla is a big piece to try to
help that along, that narrative along. And look, the reality
is the Dodgers had two and a half starting pitchers
and won the World Series. You could do it in

(18:04):
a lot of different ways. But if you have a
Blake Snell in your rotation in a world series, it
probably is going to be a little bit easier to manage.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
For Dave Roberts, No, one and only, David Massey, are
you worried that now you're going to be too close
to Snell?

Speaker 5 (18:26):
You know you're really putting me on the spot there. No,
I'm not concerned about that. I have a lot of
love and a great working relationship with a lot of guys.
I've had to reassure a few of the current Dodgers
that were texting me last night that hey, I'll treat
all of you equal. You're all my kids, and I

(18:47):
got enough love for all of you.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Dave hypothetical, real quick hypothetical. If they have a press conference,
introduce him. Jim Hill always gives the first question. Will
Jim defer to you to ask Blake Snell the first
question as a.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
Want I want no part of that. Jim can have
the first Uh, the first question?

Speaker 2 (19:06):
I told you, Okay, all right, I told you what
he would say. You're right, Uh, but but when do
you think there's going to be news on the other guy?
You no, you are.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
That's what we wanted you and Blake. Hey Buddy, Hey buddy,
Hey bud day.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
What's the timeline on the news about the other guys
you think Tao.

Speaker 5 (19:24):
Scar Buehler, Well, yeah, the Dodgers have had contact with
Tioskar's representative. It feels like ta Oscar is not going
to sign until after Soto signs because a lot of
the teams that miss out on Soto are going to
have interest in Taoscar. And it makes sense. Blake Trennon's

(19:46):
another guy that nobody talks about. I would love to
see Blake Trenon back. I would love to see Walker
Buehler back. How about Keik A Hernandez? I mean, how
can you right away pick up Miguel Rojas's five million
options and not find key K Hernandez. To me, you know,
it's unfortunate that Rojas was dealing with Hernia, But when

(20:08):
he went down and that opened the door for Key
k In then lbs that's when the Dodgers October changed.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Interesting, Dave, do you think it's because there's more interest
in Keik than there was in Rojas?

Speaker 5 (20:23):
Possibly, but I mean, you can't Rojas played a vital
role during the regular season. I'm not discounting that or
trying to minimize that, but key k is a guy
you want once you get to October.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
The one and only David Vasse. He is in a
place of great satisfaction and comfort. He's headed to the
Winter Meetings. Do you have anything up your sleep for that?

Speaker 5 (20:53):
It's two weeks away, a week from Monday, Petros and
I have a feeling the Juan Soto signing may occur there.
It's interesting that where the Winter Meetings are being held,
the same hotel in Dallas was where Scott Boris negotiated
Alex Rodriguezz at that time record breaking contract with the

(21:15):
Texas Rangers. So who knows Boris has a flair for theatrics.
He may like to repeat history in Dallas.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
All right, Dave, Well, wonderful stuff, and thank you and
congratulations on the great reporting David Vasse at the Real
Underscore DV. We'll have them all next week, of course,
with the Blake Smell press conference and all that stuff.
Thanks Dave, Thank you.

Speaker 5 (21:38):
Petros. You know you're my dog still too.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
Oh please, I'm not going to ramin with you in
the San Gabriel Valley. If you're asking Korean barbecue either way,
and we'll be back with more great sports talk. James Worthy.
After the Lakers get blown out again in the third
quarter against the Phoenix Suns last night and they lose
one of those NBA Cup games. I think they still

(22:02):
have a chance though. The Petrosen Money Show continues on
m five seventy LA Sports. Congratulations to David Vass, Congratulations
the Dodgers, and most of all, congratulations to smell Zilla
two time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snow.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
It's a petro Some Money show on your home of

means his time for the Hall of Famer James Worthy

This mark can only be called F one fifty. Get

on a Ford F one fifty or any Ford model.
During Ford's Black Friday Cellivan.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
The Great James Worthy joins us once again. The Hall
of Famer is right, truly a man. We are thankful
for our relationship with Laker fans are thankful for him,
not just for the championships, the banners on the wall
and the jersey retired, but the great analysis Emmy Award
winning on Spectrum Sportsnet almost every night that there's a

(23:24):
Laker game. James, how are you happy Thanksgiving to you
and your family?

Speaker 8 (23:30):
I love you guys too, man, Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Holidays, brothers.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
We appreciate you, James. And there's always a lot of love,
not a lot of love for the Lakers in the
last couple third quarters. And it's a little bit of
a weird trend. It happens to all kinds of sports teams.
You know, after halftime football games, third quarter, do you
notice any similarities and how do you cure yourself from
that kind of sickness?

Speaker 8 (23:56):
Really weird, man, I mean, you know, for teams started
out you know, pretty good, pretty consistent, we were looking
at something different. Uh, And sometimes when you're winning those games,
your defenses is you win without really playing your best
and then you slip into like third quarter, you know,

(24:21):
absences where you're not you know, it's a tale of
two halves, you know. You know, the last couple of games,
the Lakers, you know, they feel like you know, you
remember the old pace car in the Indianapolis five hundred.
You know, they started to race. It would start out
really fast, it would be ahead of the race, and

(24:41):
then all of a sudden they would just get out
of the way and then the gets never heard of again.
I think those third quarters are are very concerning, man,
very concerning, and it's you know, it's not coaching, it's
it's I think it's players really have to hold themselves
accountable for the little things like getting back on defense,

(25:04):
defensive transition, turn the ball over. You know, it's this
is this is uncharacteristic for a team with you know,
guys that have you know, been in the trenches before.
So it's early, but I don't like what I'm seeing
in the third quarter. I mean, uh, that's it's it's
just it's unacceptable. And I think they know that.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
James. Last week we talked a lot about what Dalton
Kanneck was doing for this Lakers team and the spark
he brought starting games. But Cam Reddish back healthy, Dalton
Kanneck goes back to the bench. Does Dalton Konnect need
to get more involved? Does he need to maybe get
back in that starting lineup, because when he was in there,
positive things were happening, they were winning six in a row.

Speaker 8 (25:47):
Yeah, it's a it's a tricky situation. You need defense initially,
and I think, you know, Connect is getting better defensively,
but his his weaknesses and you know, his his his
his tough spots on the defensive ends. So I think,
you know, you really have to play that very carefully.

(26:09):
He can still get his production, I think coming off
the bench with he and d Lo. You know, for
a while there, our bench wasn't getting any production, and
then Dilo went to the bench and gave him a
little punch. I think to keep Dalton coming off the
bench for a little bit longer. I don't think it's
that you need to punch at the beginning of the game. Now,

(26:30):
you might want to consider starting him in the third
quarter when you need some you know, when you need
some offense. But I just don't think it's it's it's
it's a it's a matter of points, it's a matter
of precision and you know connection on the defensive end.
Get it back on defense. Too many open threes, slow

(26:51):
on your rotations. Uh, those things can be solved with
just a little you know, effort and meeting up the
minds they got commit to it.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
The great James Worthy as our guests. We're always very
grateful to have him here on the Petros and Money Show.
JJ Reddick's hiring was a topic of a lot of
conversation over the offseason, of course, but at the same time,
I mean, they surrounded him with a bunch of ex
head coaches and a lot of support, and it doesn't
seem like he's in over his head or anything like that.

(27:24):
What is your assessment of the job he's doing early
in this season.

Speaker 8 (27:31):
I think he's done a great job to get out
of the gate like they did, you know, and win
those games early. I mean for a minute there they
were like second in the West. I was like, man,
I haven't felt that in years and so, and I
still think his messaging is clear. It comes to point

(27:53):
where players like, you know, it's hard eighty two games,
you're going to have off games, you still have to
find a way to win. And you know they did
that the first you know, five six, seven games until
they got to the Orlando game, and then they missed
a bunch of free throws. That was you know, uncharacteristic

(28:14):
of a D and Reeves missing free throws. Okay, Denver
a real basketball team. You know, uh, they got spanked
and you know that's when they got exposed in the
third quarter, like you know, you can't make subtle mistakes
against a great team. Carried over to the next game

(28:35):
against the Sons who were with KD and Bill and
Booker and but things like offensive rebounds, you know, things
of that nature. We could not hit the three. That's
where we could maybe look to a guy like Dalton More.
But yeah, these are solvable issues. It's just a matter
of putting your mind to it. They look they just

(28:57):
looked like they didn't want to compete against the suns
Are And that's you know, that's always concerned to me
because you know, if you if you got a fast
break and you're running the lane one hundred percent of
the time, you're going to get guys spreading as fast
as they can. And that same thing needs to apply

(29:17):
when you turn it over and you got to get
back on defense, and that's what that's not what, it's
not happening. So I'm sure film and film sessions and discussions,
and I don't think guys like Nate McMillan, who is
a defensive genius, a guy played Magic Johnson really well.

(29:38):
It's going to allow this team to you know, get
by with the you know, lack of effort, lack of
you know, concentration, paying attention to the details on defense.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
James, you always talk about the tightness of a locker
room and the importance of being on the same page
and everybody getting along in that locker room to be
successful like you guys were in the show time Aaron
having leadership. It's just kind of stepping back and looking
at what's happened in Philadelphia right now with the Sixers.
They're three and thirteen. This is a team a lot
of talent. Yeah, certainly injuries have hit them a little bit,

(30:10):
but you get reports now from guys in the media,
there's leagues, there's team meetings. The losses are starting to
mount up. It has been an absolutely dreadful start there
in Philadelphia, and you just wonder how much more this
can employe and you're seeing what a bad locker room
and maybe even a toxic locker room could look like
in the NBA with the Sixers team right.

Speaker 8 (30:29):
Now, well, yeah, the seventy six ers, you know, have plummeted.
And I'm not talking about their record in per se
that's not good either. But when you lose them arole
and in your locker room, and when you have you know,
statements being made about you know, I've done so much

(30:52):
of this city and blah blah blah, you haven't won
a championship. Bro. Yeah, and so that's a problem. And
then when you have a young player like like Max
you know, come out and say, look, dude, you need
to be on time. Yeah that that that kind of
stuff never needs to be public. And so when you

(31:13):
have that, you're going to have twelve or fourteen guys
in a room. You're going to have three over here,
four over there. They're going to have their opinion, three
over there, and it's not going to work. So it's
unfortunate for Philadelphia who had high hopes, but unfortunately they
got a lot of connecting to do. Whether that's going

(31:35):
to be with them beat or not.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Maybe they should go bowling or something. Team building. The
great James Worthy. There's nobody better, and we're so grateful
for our relationship with him. James, thank you so much,
and have a great Thanksgiving weekend.

Speaker 8 (31:49):
Enjoy the turkey, gentlemen.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
All right, thanks James. What a mess in Philadelphia. You know,
at one point they blamed James Harden for all that
a couple of years ago. Right, yeah, I do remember that.
I can't blame him now.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
No, he seems to be doing fine on the Clippers.

Speaker 8 (32:03):
Now.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
You can just blame it if the Clippers locker room implodes,
will it? I don't think so. Now the coaching staff
they got there with Tyleru and Gundhy. Who's there, Yeah,
Jeff van Gundy.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Yes, he's their defensive specially.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
The Lakers have Nate McMillan, and you'll see Van Gundy
Clippers Wizards tonight night pre game of three. It's really

Speaker 2 (34:00):

Wonderful people over there helping people out during the holidays,

serving fifteen hundred meals on Thanksgiving and raising money to

AMFI seventy la sports dot com or Dreamcenter dot org.
Help feed those in need this Thanksgiving and help with
toys for the kids this holiday season. Twenty dollars buys
one toy for one child, one hundred five kids will
get a toy AMFI seventy la sports dot com to
give or Dreamcenter dot org. And this Texas from ron Hess,

(34:46):
ron Hess, Hi, Ron Wrights. Tim's one thousand dollars pledge
to the Dream Center is inspiring. I'll make a matching donation.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Whoa, whoa, Thank you.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
Ron, thank you to ron Hess, and thank you to
Tim Kats great stuff, and thank you to Pastor Matt
for joining us yesterday and talking all about it and
inspiring our listeners. Well, here's a few more textosas.

Speaker 9 (35:15):
Okay, the secret text US ut Line, brought to you
by your so call Toyota Dealers. We make it easy.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
Breaking news Dodger reporter David Vase separating from his wife
and family and moving in with the newest Dodger, Blake SNeW.
These came fast and furious.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
I bet they did.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
Live reaction to David Vasse seeing the Snell news last night.
I can't even imagine his puzso swinging that Vassa is
going to be doing today now that Snell Zilla's a Dodger.
Thank god Snell has no opt outs, because vass will
want Snell on every Dodger talk until the end of time.
Get you out and get your pood so going, Get

(35:56):
your puzzo out and get your poods going. You know,
I don't think that I don't. I don't think that
Dave's gonna have him on every I don't I think
that kind of familiarity with breed contempt.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
I've already got a text message from the Great Colin Yeep,
part of the Dodger broadcast, who's got a championship game
in CIF high school football on Friday night on NFH network,
And his text came in a couple hours ago, says
Tim dv's gonna have Snell high and tight at least
what ten times this year? I said, go over that number,

(36:30):
Colin over ten? Oh yeah, one hundred and sixty two games?

Speaker 2 (36:34):
How many would he get? Rich Hill A lot? I don't.
I mean, who knows, right? It'll be interesting to trap Yeah, yop?
Who's boner? Was it an all time VTB after the
Otani signing or DVS after Snell signing Cloud nine? For
your boy? Uh? There's a lot of people excited, but

(36:55):
probably none more than David Vasse, who has a friendship
with Blake Snell.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
I mean, you think about what this means for day,
but more importantly, what this means for the Dodger starting staff.
We got into it earlier. This is the biggest pickup
they can make outside of Sasaki, the Japanese right hand
or who they may or may not get.

Speaker 5 (37:12):
Now.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
So what does it mean for Walker Bueher.

Speaker 3 (37:14):
It doesn't look good for Walker Bute unless he wants
to come back at a cheaper price. I know that
Blake Snell's deferring money, and you know there's a lot
being said about what the Dodgers are doing with the
whole deferring to after their contracts are over, but they
still have room to go out and sign somebody like
a taoscar. Hernandez Davidsse brought the great point yesterday. Somebody's
gonna have to pick up those thirty plus home runs

(37:36):
that he hit last season for the Dodgers. Is it
gonna be Will Smith adding to his number? Is everybody
going to add to their home run number from last
year to make up that number? But somehow they have
to make up thirty home runs from a year ago.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
So what can we expect next? Corbyn Burns?

Speaker 3 (37:52):
Wow, if they can get Corbin Burns, this would be
an even better offseason than last year when they got
Otanian Yamamoto.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
I saw the deferring money makes it a whole different deal.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
Oh now everybody's complaining, Mets fans, Yankee fans, especially the
Padres and Giants fans, like, what are they doing to baseball?
They're ruining? What's happening with this defer the money? I mean,
what are we doing?

Speaker 2 (38:12):
It's a first World Series in a non COVID year
since nineteen eighty eight, What do you mean? What are
they doing? They've had the biggest payroll for years.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
It's not like the Dodgers are the only team allowed
to do this. It's not as special Dodgers rule people.
Any team could do this if they wanted to.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
Well, Blake Snell is a Dodger, and there's some certain
people that are absolutely, deeply, deeply gratified, some others not
as much.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
Now here's the question. Whenever there's a press conference for
Blake Snell to introduce him as the newest Dodger, does
Jim Hill get the first question or does d V
get the first question to Blake.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
I think David will defer to Jim Hill because of
David's la sports acumen and how long he's been around,
and Dave knows the pecking order. I think Dave will
defer to Jim Hill. That's a great question, but I
believe Dave will defer.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
Will there'd be a lookover today from Jim and Dave
just kind of gives a nod with maybe like the
two finger to the forehead salute, like.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Yeah, you take a gym, that'll do. That'll do, pig.
We'll be right back. We've got more great sports talk.
I'm gonna do the Thanksgiving PSA. We'll have it in
the word number, song of the day. We'll have a
fun fact. We will do the college football whip around
flat and then we will get to your dead and
a live guy birth the other day, all headed towards Clippers.

(39:24):
This afternoon, Clippers at Wizards pregame at three with fully
functional employee Adam. Thank you, we got one more out
