There we go. Is that Colin yee and Colin yee
on A two? I'm sorry the ir that's on me.
It's a regular occurrence. Colin, don't don't sweat at one bit?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
How where is that Schanoby theme?
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Brother?
Speaker 5 (01:46):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Should I have to read out every show every day?
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Oh my gosh, Scheroby or full music at noon? There's
certain things you should always have that you're discover immediately.
Speaker 6 (01:57):
Is Colin not having the IR up just like fifty
to fifty having him the mics up?
Speaker 4 (02:03):
It's the opposite, not as egregious. It leads to dead air.
And sometimes people driving around the second they hear like
two seconds of dead air, they can't take it. They
punch out and they go somewhere else. Now they're listening
to Mark and Kathy on Coast and we're screwed.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Mark Kim, excuse me.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
You heard me? Don't touch her?
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Can I get that chenoby. I'm not gonna feel fulfilled
until I hear the shnoby because on the board all
week long, the ones and twos, it's not Ronnie Fossio,
it's calling Ye twenty twenty four World champion Dodge of
broadcast getting a ring superstar play by play up and
(02:47):
comer here in town. When are those rings coming in?
Tim and I were so waiting.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
Well, you know there's ring day. So ring day is
typically sometime in the regular season, the spring. I have
no David Vasse not got his ring yet. Has he April?
So I don't think I would sweat it if I
were you guys, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (03:06):
But they need our sizes though, right.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
We still haven't gotten sized.
Speaker 6 (03:10):
I'm gonna go to Daniel's Jewelers this weekend, in fact,
in the Glendale Galleria.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Which we hid a carpool there. Going to Daniels Jewelers.
You even to say, sass me for my world. I'm
gonna say, championship.
Speaker 7 (03:19):
Ring home run and get that free bracelet.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
Have you asked Dave if he's been sized for his
ring yet? No, Well, why don't you do that before
you all go together? Dwayne McDonald, Maybe you guys want
to say all their names.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Just show up. Never just show up at the Dodgers
office and be like, hey, uh, we were inquiring about
our rings. Is Lon Rosen here? It's a callin Yee
and Tim Kates. We're here in the house. My fingers here.
We parked in lot F.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
I came with my fingers.
Speaker 6 (03:44):
Do you know at the last PMS remote at BJ's
in West Covina that I did with you Petros Matt.
You had a Thursday night Chargers game a listener during
with the breaks, Hey, can't check this bat boy out?
And he showed me his Dodgers ring, oh from twenty
twenty on his right ring finger.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Yeah, was it purchased from it? It was the one
they gave away ring night.
Speaker 7 (04:05):
He's like acting like he had this special dip, like
I gotta ring.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
It's one more than guess what man ain't no blood
diamonds on that ring.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Ok Oh, shame, African shame.
Speaker 7 (04:18):
These diamonds were growing in a laboratory.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
It's right that ring was good enough for him. Okay,
it made him feel good about him, so.
Speaker 7 (04:25):
He acted like he was part of the organization.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
I'm gonna get a real one. Hey, whatever. Gregorio I'm
getting a real one, Remember when I still singing, That's
why I gotta ing. This is going to be a
fine radio show. Is We're going till six thirty and
then UCLA is playing Michigan. There's a big fire. It's
tired of the last Tuesday. But it looks like, yeah
told the us mentia desk deel Mundo. It looks like
(04:48):
the looks bad. Palisades in bad shape, The fire is bad,
but it looks like they're gonna play the UCLA game anyway,
because it's probably not going to jump over the four
h five and start burning the graveyard.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
Hundred seventy plus acres burned in the Palisades, and it
appears as though we are currently watching a home.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
Right and flame. Those of you texting me about my
home the Palisades and Palace Verdi's very easy to mix up.
I understand that I live on the opposite side of
the Santa Monica Bay, the exact opposite side you're good
from when it comes to this particular natural disaster. Yes,
(05:27):
we feel safe. As far as the show today goes.
We have Brady Quinn who's going to join us next.
He's going to wake up the echoes, talk about the
college football playoff, talk about how screwed up current college
football is.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
That's Rot Paul, which totally screwed up. I don't like
what I'm seeing out there. A lot of people in
the SEC very angry. Brady Quinn, of course, a celebrated
Notre Dame alumnus, and he will join us in the
next segment. Is he I would imagine we'll ask him
about it. I do radio with him once a week.
We'll do radio tomorrow morning on Two Pros and a
(05:59):
Cup of Joe. Was he at the Sugar Bowl?
Speaker 3 (06:01):
LeVar and Jonas? I don't know, we'll find out. We
will find out. I mean, he is an international man
of movement. So we will talk to Brady Quinn in
the very next segment. And the Chargers are on a
roll as Matt is headed to houste and we have
all kinds of weird movement, different obstructions to talk about.
Quinton Johnston is going to join us. A wide receiving
(06:24):
hero for the Chargers, thirteen catches against the Raiders, almost
two hundred yards, and we talked to him after his
last big game, so it's only natural that we would
talk to him after this well, he requested it. Big games.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
Like last time had a big game Petros and money.
This time I had me a big game. I'm going
on Petro some money, right, got to have me some
fun exactly, I have me some fun. And we are
going to play the Chargers football game here on A
five to seventy on Saturday. As a matter of fact,
the Chargers Texans playoff wild Card round contest will be
heard right here on AM five seventy LA Sports. That's
(06:58):
big news, big news. Not on all ninety eight point seven.
They have Alter Ego their Big Winner show happening on Saturday.
So kf I AM six forty and KLAC AM five
seventy LA Sports will broadcast both of them. A simulcast
of the broadcast with Daniel Jeremiah, Shannon Farren and me
doing Chargers football against the Texans at one thirty with
(07:20):
the pregame at eleven thirty.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
So we have that to look forward to. Quentin Johnston,
we got a top story, flip, top story, word number song,
Brady Quinn and we're going until six thirty now, Tim Kates,
I would say of the four of us at Colin
Yee's a little different shows if ninety six, that's everybody,
(07:47):
Jim k Tim Kates is a bit of a newshound.
I would say out of the three of us, Tim
Kates is the most newshound. Yes, and he actually local news. Yeah,
local news, and I love local news. But Kate's is
a real hound. And I believe Kates may or may
(08:08):
not have broken this fire news to our friends at KFI.
I did off of local Palisades Twitter and with a
little help from Prep Rider from the La Times.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
What Eric Sondheimer, Kate's broke the news to KFI and
what time?
Speaker 7 (08:25):
I sent Shannon Fairn a text.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
They beat TV by about twenty minutes.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
Ten forty nine am this morning. OK, get that breaking news,
Tim Kates reporter. And just to pull back to curtain
a little bit, President Biden is in town.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
Flew in last night. I actually saw it come in.
It's pretty cool in Burbank when he landed up.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
That's pretty sweet.
Speaker 6 (08:44):
They had all the auspreys flying around. It's pretty cool.
But this morning there's a no fly zone thirty miles
around LA because the President is in town, so no
local helicopters are up in the air and couldn't get
to the fire, so they were relying on people actually
around the fire, and CIVI at Palace Eights putting it
up on social media saw Eric Sonheimer to retweet it out.
(09:05):
I say it to Shan, I said, hey, there's a fire,
and then they started talking about it. In ten minutes later,
it's all over the news.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Tim Kates, welcome the new CAFFI news room.
Speaker 7 (09:13):
I am the newsroom.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
And if you are concerned about following the fire, KFI
does the best job with it. Seohn Cole belts on
right now on the street station. Well, Tim Kates is
right on top of it. I offered to do live
reports if they wanted me to go out there. Well,
we need you here, Tim for great sports talk. I mean,
we got we're all so important here on am II
seventy LA sports. But it is a bad situation, there's
(09:37):
no doubt about that. And there's a wind blowing real
hard in the city to see you DoD and please
take care of yourself and listen to KFI if and
Tim Kates said something quite interesting to me while I
was listening to this coverage earlier and we were on
the phone. He said, whenever there's a fire like this
(09:59):
and they start gett those scoopers out, Super scoopers, those
super scoops they.
Speaker 6 (10:03):
Took off from Van Eyes at eleven o'clock the sport.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
It's like that bucket that Zeke jumped in on Christmas
or Thanksgiving, you know, the Salvation Army one. It's that
big bucket. It gets the water and then bang.
Speaker 6 (10:12):
Even it's like a pelican right just opens his mouth
and just I would say, even bigger, even bigger than
the Salvation Army bucket that fits Ezekiel Elliott who's now
at Charger obviously on Matt's mind, and even bigger than.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
A pelican's gullet or bill. Uh. These are quite large,
these and there's two of them, right, two big giant
super scoopers.
Speaker 7 (10:32):
There's two of them on loan from Canada.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
And Tim Kats was saying that there was an episode
of CSI.
Speaker 7 (10:40):
CSI Las Vegas, the original series.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Where they found a scuba diver dead in a tree
because of the super scooper because he was scuba diving
in a lake Lake Mead, and the scooper picked him
up and then dropped him on the fire.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
And an awesome storyline.
Speaker 6 (10:59):
Right, one of the two storylines in the episode was
the two of the UH forensic people were checking out
this guy. How did he end up full scuba suit
in a tree?
Speaker 7 (11:11):
And they went and looked. He was in Lake Mead
super School, they thought.
Speaker 6 (11:14):
And there was a whole theory to start off the
episode was he was picked up one of the super scoop.
Can't you imagine there was a fire and he was
swallowed up and dropped on the fire.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
I'm here scuba diving and like me doing the thing,
feeling the peace of the lake, and I suddenly you
get scooped up into the bill of a giant metal beast.
It flies you over a towering inferno. It drops you
into a huge literally drops you into a massive fire
while you're in your full scuba gear, in your wet suit.
Speaker 6 (11:44):
The episode's name, Season two, episode five CSI Scuba Doobee Dude. Yeah,
I don't know why I remembered it, but seeing the scooba,
which you know why you remember it was one of
the greatest episodes of television. It has been on my
mind though in twenty years. It came out in two
thousand and one.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
And then Tim gets gets it into his head that
he's kind of read the bullet points from the whole episode,
and I guess there's like all kinds of CSI weirdos
out there that follow this stuff.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
Sure, and apparently that's not what happened. That's not how
the scuba diver died. It was a setup. It was
the guy was.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Brought into the fire in his full scuba gear. The
fire blew his tank and it blew him up into
the tree.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
How did he end up in the forest with his
scuba gear on? He got killed by the by the
lake and then the guy drove his body into the
forest and lit the fire blew the guy into the trees.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Then the scooper came and dropped the water on it.
They thought they dropped the scuba guy on it. I mean,
I'm sure it's happened to a fish or two. It
had because they definitely pick up out of the ocean Diday,
that's where they were getting the water from. Oh, for sure,
it happened to some plankton, But it's never happened to
like ade like a guba, like a dude down there
like who's for scuba? And then all of a sudden
you're in the belly of a beast and then you're like, wow,
(13:06):
this is terrible, and then it drops you into hell.
Speaker 6 (13:09):
Whether they pick up like a dolphin or something drop
it over the.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Mountain, I'm sure it's happened. That would be unfortunate, like
a dolphins spinning down like a missile.
Speaker 6 (13:17):
I mean, Channel Night was showing these things going over
the fire and then like going over the ocean and
then going back to the fire.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
So that's the benefit of it being in Palisades. It's
right there. It is just you know, right by the
little that's a lot of potential scuba dudes getting dropped
into that fire because you're gonna make a lot more
trips than having to take that ocean water all the
way out into the valley.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Why did you go right off of Moondoggies and pull
up them?
Speaker 4 (13:42):
Are those Hanka minoras? I don't know what those are, Matt,
I like, that's what those were. It was a bad
scene earlier, they were saying, because then God qualify is
ironic where everything around it is on fire, but the
minora is not lit.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
I think that's what happened in the original Honic. But
what happened around some of the area was there people
trying to get out, and the cops came and the
fire got too close, and they just made him get
out of their cars, and then the cars were stuck
and they couldn't move the cars for the fire engines.
And then, believe it or not, Steve Gutenberg of all
people from Cocoon and Police Academy's out there moving people's cars,
(14:16):
telling everybody to leave their keys in the cars because
he's going to deal with it. It's our first assignment,
just like when we were going after that gang and
Police Academy too.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
It is wild when you get when I was part
of that, When I was in the Malibu fire, when
we were evacuated, merged onto pch right next to Axel
Rose and a black BMW Mike car pulled Merge in.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
You wouldn't want to, you know. I mean, that's what
happens when you empty out Malibu. A bunch of celebrities
fall out, and it's like it's like turning somebody upside
down and shaking out their pockets. You know, here comes
Neil Diamond, a scuba outfit. So very sad situation.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
And whenever there's a real affluent area like this that
goes on fire, they literally send like fireman suicide bomb
to put it out because the insurance don't all hands
on deck. Oh, I didn't want to pay for all
these bougie mansions and all these mansions they're insured up
the as So interesting situation going on.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Is that the guy that interviewed you the other day, Matt.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
That's human there he is.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
They're Schuman from KFI and look at him. He's in
a fire target look on legity, looks Shuman, looks legit there.
Put it on ABC. This guy told Matt that he
wanted the chargers not to come to la abruptly ended the.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Interview Channel seven, Channel seven. Schumann, h I think he
was missing Schuman. He's talking, he's talking, but he's off
screen now, Kates.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
Put it on ABC. What's the matter with you guys
in there? There is that Shuman, he's on channel eleven.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
Well you tell us they're going to pan back to him, Kates.
It looked like.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
Him, doesn't sound like him, but he's all smoked out right.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
He's got the jacket on too, can smoke, smoke smoke
Here you go, Kate, get an eye on the screen.
That is that Shuman's hand?
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Is that his phone? His phone? Look at his screen. Safer, dude,
that looks like Shuman. That's human, right, and that's Shoe.
Speaker 7 (16:18):
That's the least singer. A bad religion, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
He's playing bea slave? I dare you. Isn't that Shuman
the Hills of Los Angeles? That's not human? You sure, Schumann.
Let me see if you get some Shuman action. Let
me get what they got to see.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
All the cars, that's all the cars. Put it on
Channel Eleven'slenzo, there's a Porsche. There's a pass Lay. You're right,
very affluent area of the Pacific Palisades is that Matt
Damon has.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Charter, which is an l a u. S School to
pick up one of our kids, and we lacked. When
we were leaving the first fire engines were coming into
the community from other community. It was setting up.
Speaker 8 (17:01):
Their positions could be and the traffic was starting to
build up. On time in South Boston, we were able
to get out of the neighborhood, but I understand that
many others were not, and people actually abandoned their cars
along the side of Sunset Boulevard, which.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Made it easy evacuate. So we feel fortunate that we
got out in time. But there some improvements in how
and I don't.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Spent a lot of time in the Palisades in my life.
Should have been I've been the Palisades High Go Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
They should have issued an evacuations.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
Well, I know Paul Revere Middle School, but that's.
Speaker 8 (17:35):
In Brendon's the problem at the school on the Palisades
parents formed school anytime rather than.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Just getting the kids out of school as soon as possible.
Speaker 9 (17:45):
I don't think that we were prepared as a for.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
A fast moving wildfire like this. Individually, I think people
did very well, and.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
As those trees aren't going to burn, we.
Speaker 9 (17:58):
Offered neighbors rides and this is your father, son, But
I think it happened so quickly that a lot of
people were just unable to react. And our systems as
a city, as a county and state.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
Who's this guy? Target? Matt? Can we get a kiro?
And you're not ready?
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Fox Local that this really could have been handled better.
Speaker 10 (18:19):
Yeah, I mean, Joel Marlate is here. Good to have them, Sorry,
it's under these conditions. Grover just showing those images of
the abandoned vehicles, and we got word that at one
point one of these ropes and this may have been
the one where it was literally curbed the curb of cars.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
That would set access for the first.
Speaker 10 (18:40):
To literally bulldoze the stranded vehicles off to the side.
So all of those vehicles are damaged.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
As a result, they damaged.
Speaker 10 (18:50):
The integrity of your custler right now, as it relates to.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Our house, unfortunately, is directly in the past of the fire.
When we left, it was about a half mile up
the hill, but we're not sure it's going to stay
that way, and we are anxiously checking capitals and things
like that to see what happens. We do want to
thank all of the first responders and fire pass out
(19:17):
there trying to keep the names. Unfortunately, the homes further
up the hill have been damaged or destroyed, and we're
hoping that.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Sunset.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Glad we have fire insurance, which is also another issue
more people meet fire insurance in California, but things will
turn out.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
For the best.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
We're just glad that everybody in our family is safe,
and we're thinking of all the people who are still
trying to get out.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
You're the father of several young kids. How do you
talk about that? What's your day? Reset?
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Well, we just had to pick up one of our
kids from preschool, and we explained to her that we
couldn't go home tonight because it's the fire near our house,
but we'll go home when it's over and the firefighters
are going to put it out. And she seems satisfied
by that explanation.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
It's like a star. He's a superstar or them. Remember
one house burnt down star.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Our eldest who's at a different school, heard from a
classmate that her home had burnt down because the classmate's
mother inadvertently called my daughter's phone instead of my wife.
And so my daughter, who's twelve, panicked and hadn't heard
about the fire, and so went to the school office
(20:38):
and called.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
Us little too much.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
I had to calm her down. It's a challenge.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Well, I mean, lastly, Joel, you know, as.
Speaker 11 (20:47):
Who covers the Joel Silver the news somewhat dispassionately a.
Speaker 6 (20:51):
Lot of times.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
What's it like now to be in the middle of
a news storyline.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Grover, Well, this is never the kind of story you
want to get, Joe.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
But we live in a he wouldn't live in the
palace that.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Has periodic droughts. And whether you believe in climate change
or not, we have to manage a dry environment.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
We had Hey, who's in the news name Joel, Come on,
you're the news guy.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
Help us out.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Ironically, that caused a lot of brush to grow. And
it hasn't been any rain this winter so far, so
there's a.
Speaker 5 (21:18):
Lot of fuel.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
And they did evacuate Revere and.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Wow, we need to talk about how to be more
careful about fire. There's a suggestion it hasn't been proven yet,
but there's a suggestion from some neighbors that people had
been setting off fireworks on New Year's Eve out there
nearby and that caused a fire on New Year's Day
that was put out, but it's possible that the smoldering
remnants of.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
That smoldering remnants a week later.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
The high winds there needs to be a week later,
I think greater.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
There's a credibility by the minute.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
In these dry conditions. Year's a lot of questions too.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
There's been wildfires at LA a long time, giving.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Our schools about why we weren't better prepared for this,
but also we need to ask about how we can
manage living in this environment.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
Because well, you're the one that puts yourself on our
center fielder rides a motorcycle with a Cigarettews.
Speaker 11 (22:13):
Are often guessed on our political show.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
The issue is.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
Okay, first bright Bart news. There we go.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Look at that.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
Wow, that's terrible. Let's try k Cal Okay, Channel five,
please see what ca Cal got.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
That's Channel I'm.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
Sorry, Channel nine please. Hot bench is what it should have,
same same angles. There's the Tesla, there's the Beamer, there's
the Benzo. To the right is the ultimate fool.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
At a certain point of somebody I called Doug Stevens
away from our show.
Speaker 12 (22:38):
Traffic and firefighters approached them to to get out of
their vehicles and get down to safety. And just imagine
how frightening she's got the full The fire didn't reach cars, but.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
She looks like that. When the Dodgers played.
Speaker 12 (22:54):
Dozer came up and basically you can see the dozer
cleared this path right here so that fire engines and
trucks and first responders can get through in the hillside.
That's what they were fleeing for, you can see. But
(23:14):
as we continue to walk, there's just rows and rows
of cars, many of them have gotten into accidents trying
to get down. You can see just how scary. At
least one hundred cars. A lot of people in those
cars got all their belongings and just went down the street.
(23:36):
I think they are putting some hose on this area
because I'm feeling some moisture. But you can see just
the hillsides here. You know a lot of spotfires in
this area. Looks like they're releasing some water there and
(23:56):
had to safety. You can see something.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
You are still well.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
You need to monitor this throughout the day. Thank you
everybody for KEKEW CBS sharing the feed.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
That's Petros and Money breaking news.
Speaker 4 (24:07):
Check out KFI AM six forty. But here we have

We'd have broken the.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
News, like would Kates have texted Shannon or would you
have come in and broken on our showcase? Oh you guys,
first all would have been right. You would have been like, hey,
I know KFI is our news station. You guys get

Speaker 7 (24:29):
Yeah, three minute heads are three minutes.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
You know. We thought they were talking to some superstar
and it's like a guy from Breitbart Joel Pollock like, really.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
He's a pro. Though you get here the way he
was delivered, he.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Was he got a little sideways, as you would.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
Fireworks smoldering for six days.
Speaker 6 (24:44):
By the way, our friends at dream Center LA have

That means we get cut a half hour short. We'll

Speaker 3 (25:51):
Going to cancel that game. I mean, I guess they

Speaker 4 (26:00):
Right, I mean, I mean Westwood at the other side

Speaker 3 (26:06):

you see the smoke from everywhere.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
It's indoors. I got Bronchitas Michigan. They're in town. When
they going to be back again? Nick wants to wash
the taste of a Nebraska loss out of his mouth.
Does Brady live in the Palisades?
Speaker 7 (26:25):
No, Florida?
Speaker 3 (26:27):
No, he moved. He moved back to Columbus he did. Yeah,
that's okay. We have reaction on the secret Textoso for
all this.
Speaker 12 (26:33):
The secret texts a line brought to you by your
so called Toyota dealers.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
We make it easy back to fire coverage.
Speaker 4 (26:40):
Uh, This says Matt Barnes and Steve and Jackson were
seen running towards the flames because they want all that smoke, see,
because that's the name of their pod.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
Do you like that want all that smoke. Here's another one, Hey, Pete,
let's hope they're not dropping salt water from the Pacific
onto homes. Freaking sat conducts electricity. We just had two
hurricanes take out more of our neighborhood from fire spreading
during the nine foot surge than anything else. Every freaking
(27:11):
tesla burned like Joan of Arc at the steak well.
They were submerged.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
L O L Is that right?
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Love you boys and love the great sports talk. So
I guess salt water is not what they're doing, Kates.
They're probably scooping up the water over at the Van
Norman Dam. But that's double up on misinformation. We also
have somebody calling Kate's out because Biden flew into Lax
last night.
Speaker 4 (27:39):
Oh bitch, Kates, you're gonna tell us you put your
eyes on it. You put your eyes on Air Force one.
Speaker 6 (27:46):
You saw one plane come in last night and there
was a bunch of police down to Burbank Airport. There
was the Ospreys that came in. So well, I don't
know why they're doing it for anybody else, like a seagull.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
I mean, it's possible there's a little misdirection there, you know, right,
it's Bear Force one, Air Force two and one.
Speaker 6 (28:04):
Hey, by the way, I want to disc the person
who texting you about no salt water. I'm watching a
video right now from Fox eleven posted three hours ago.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
I'm just reading texts.
Speaker 6 (28:12):
Super Scooper picks up water to fight Palisades fire, and
it's picking it up from.
Speaker 4 (28:18):
The Pacific Ocean, the ocean, and you know why, so
that teslas can burn underwater.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
That's why I'm doing it. Petros, I know what happened.
It was some hippie smoking weed right over there that
started the fire. Right over there, there's some people smoking weed.
He spoofed the bowl and sent that seat smoldering. Since
the Summer of Love. You spoofed the bull. Hey, fool
(28:51):
Kates is gonna stick that electric spoon up his eye?
Speaker 4 (28:54):
Oh, the one we talked about yesterday, the Japanese spoon.
It's electric. It simulates salt, but it's an electric shock.
You just spoilered. How the scuba dude died? That was
the CSI twist. Sorry, guys, twenty three year old show. Okay,
should have said spoiler alert.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
I didn't know that salt water conducted electricity, and I
didn't know is that Gavin Newsom. Did he just show up?
Did they just get his ass there?
Speaker 2 (29:24):
No?
Speaker 4 (29:24):
I think that was Rob Low And that's tweety man.
There's celebrities everywhere.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
Man.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
Look at those jawlines. I mean, it's unbelievable. That's not
a real fireman. That's that's Billy Baldwin. All right, well,
pot it up. Let's see what's popping on kkew. Pot
it up there, we'll get back to the news.
Speaker 13 (29:41):
Look at all those this is the first time today
that we're going to be hearing from them officially regarding
the Palisades fire.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
Here we go, we're seeing him. Look at that the
Did you see the seal blow off the podium there
in augusta boda?
Speaker 3 (29:55):
No, it was the California State Seal, not an actual seal.
Ad putting the seal back. He blew a seal. It
blew a seal.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
I won't stick, guys. Not that big of a deal.
Not that big of a deal. I'm hearing castag and
the big fire planes are filling up as we speak.
That's on the textile, so right there. Misinformation cakes a
little longer.
Speaker 14 (30:21):
Sometimes you get everybody.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
I'm looking at two cakes. That's the ocean right there,
and that's the super coming out of it. The ocean
water puts it a knot.

But to begin with, we'd like to call up the
fire chief of the Los Angeles City Fire Department, Kristen Crowley.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
That guy looks a lot like Gavin newsom Man, but
it's not him.
Speaker 15 (31:18):
Well, good afternoon everyone. I'll be giving you a brief
on what your LFD has done up to this point.
So at ten thirty this morning, a brush fire was
reported at one one nine zero North Piedra Miranda Drive
in our local fire station here right behind us at
fire Station twenty three, Los Angeles is currently experiencing an
(31:41):
extreme fire weather condition with red flag alert. At the
time of the fire, the relative humidity was twelve and
the winds were approximately twenty five miles an hour with
gus up to fifty miles per after.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
It sounds very fire. Friends on the.
Speaker 15 (31:56):
Red flag weather your LFD pre deplad additional resources made
public awareness notifications and issued parking restrictions in high hazard
fire areas to ensure that the means of access and
egress of our local fire stations and apparatus could move
up in around the area. First, LAFD resources reported initially
(32:20):
a ten acre fire with forty mile per hour winds
and alignment heading towards the west or towards the ocean.
The LAFD then requested all resources, including strike teams and
aircraft from assisting agencies. We then went into an aggressive
attack and focused our efforts on firelife safety operations, beginning
(32:45):
with evacuations. Currently, the fire is at two and sixty
one acres and growing. Based on aerial reconnaissance, the fire
is being fueled by combination of strong winds and surrounding topography,
which is making it extremely challenging for our personnel that
(33:06):
are assigned to this incident.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Texas we currently happen, she said, your.

I've been in constant communication with Mayor Bass as well
as other city leadership who's working very very closely. As
you can see this entire entity behind me. We're working

worse throughout the night, so we all have to look out.
Speaker 4 (38:10):
For each other.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
Here he was the ball eight thousand piece.
Speaker 11 (38:18):
Total of ten thousand households or seen thousand structures include
businesses and other buildings.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
That's fire and partery.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
So we're very thankful for that.
Speaker 11 (38:29):
He asked for all assistants that we can get and
making this as smooth as we possibly can.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
Thank you, Thank you. Now, I want to see who's
who's coming up next. I want to see who's coming
up next? Real quick? Who's next? Oh, Brady Quinn's coming back? Dude,
what's up with Brady Quinn? Why can't he ever be
on time? Florida?
Speaker 3 (38:47):
He lives in Ohio, Now, Ohio. He's got seven kids
that might have something to do with it.
Speaker 4 (38:53):
Oh, your girl with the glasses is on.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
This is who I wanted to hear from.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
It's Tina Fey right, Oh, good call.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
Now, Tina face got a scarr face has been cut
in half? All right, Brady quick going to try so
I'm a bad guy now after what you said about Stanton.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
I'm a bad guy for calling out Tina Fey, which
stan helping? She's got a scar.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
I want to see what this velma looking chick is saying.
I can't see a thing without my glasses?
Speaker 4 (39:19):
Right, very short too, Yeah, she's about five to one.
Trust some money A five seventy LA Sports Live Everywhere
on the iHeartRadio app going until six thirty pm. When
as of right now, we do have a u c
l A basketball game schedule that Pauli Pavilion will keep
(39:42):
an eye. Better not call it now they may it's
UCLA Michigan tip off at seven pregame at six thirty.
With the fires ravaging Pacific Palisades just on the other
side of the four oh five on Sunset Boulevard there
from where Paulie is. We will certainly keep an eye
on whether or not that game will in fact go
off as scheduled tonight.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
All right, Matt joining us right now, waking up the echoes.
You hear him every morning two Pros and a Cup
of Joe on a five seventy and Fox Sports Radio
the Blowtorches he likes to call it. You know him
from Big Noon, The Big Show on Fox, one of
the pre eminent college football voices, and three years ago
(40:23):
he did the introductory press conference from Marcus Freeman. That's
a big deal. How many ex players have the polish
and the ability to go up there and introduce a
team like Notre Dame's next head coach. Not much at all.
Speaker 4 (40:38):
Brady Quinn and his polished style, though he is late
for this interview on the Southern California Toyota Dealer's Celebrity Outline.
Speaker 3 (40:48):
What's cracking, Brady? How are you now?
Speaker 5 (40:51):
I'm doing well? Sorry for being late, guys, My apologies
and just see, you know, the introductory press conference. I
just read the card. At one point I thought of
ad living after being in a with the director, the president,
Marcus Freeman, all the people within the opposite news and
information there at Notre Dame. I was like, I'm just
gonna read the card. I'm not gonna try to add
(41:11):
messages too much.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
You did a good job, though, I mean, that's a
big deal, though, Brady, and you look back and you
see what happened with Brian Kelly, commodore Kelly all the
way down there in Baton Rouge, mass.
Speaker 4 (41:26):
Family, My family would ye. I mean, it's got to
be pretty gratifying to see coach Freeman doing what he's
done with this program.
Speaker 3 (41:36):
Are you surprised by the success they've had.
Speaker 5 (41:39):
I'm not surprised. I think the one thing that surprised
me is someone asked me earlier this week, how has
Notre Dame become likable? I said, well, that's interesting. I've
never never thought that we weren't likable.
Speaker 3 (41:50):
I just thought were you weren't likable? But you are now.
Speaker 5 (41:53):
You go exactly, And I think Marcus deserves a lot
of credit for it because he's kind of embraced the
Notre Dame culture, the tradition, the history, but at the
same time, he's very genuine with this relationship with the players.
I think everyone saw that when it was announced that
he was gonna be the head coach, but it's the
way in which he lets everyone else in and he's
very genuine with the way he handles the media, genuine
(42:14):
with the way he's handled defeat and Northern Illinois earlier
this year and being accountable for that but also improving
from that. So I think Marcus Freeman deserves a lot
of credit for the way he's helped portray this program
in a day and age where you know, you can't
be bashful from the media, and I think just going
back through my years, you know, we had Charlie Weis,
who did a lot of great things for charity and
(42:35):
a lot of you know, different stories I could tell you,
but he always thought the media was the enemy, and
it's the exact opposite with Marcus Freeman. He's embraced all
of what's come with Notre Dame.
Speaker 4 (42:44):
Brady, as p said, you do big noons. So while
you're a Notre Dame alumnus, you're also a football analyst
on the biggest show in college football. So if you
were to rank the four teams left, what order would
you put him in?
Speaker 3 (42:57):
On?
Speaker 5 (42:57):
Put Ohio State at number one. I mean, when they're
playing there to the best team in the country, I
think they're the favorite to win odds on favorite, but
Jeremiah Smith maybe the best player in all of college football.
It's just, you know, they for whatever reason they throwed
them in the Michigan game. Well they've started to in
the playoffs and you see the results, so Ohio States won.
You know, I'm going to poss up there with the
next team because I think Texas talented, but they seem
(43:18):
to constantly just eke buy in games. And even though
their roster looks great and they've got the side athletics
is in the speed, they never seem to play up
to their ability. So I'm hesitant to put them at two,
but I will, and I think it's a little more
money from that point. And then it's Notre Dame at three,
and I think Penn State at four. You know, Penn
State as a team we've seen a lot this past year,
and their offense leaves something to be desired with Drew Aller.
(43:40):
As far as the passing game, not many big plays.
Tyler wants their best target. Aller at times makes some
poor throws and poor decisions. And without that rushing attack
of Singleton and Allen in the backfield, there's really not
much outside of the creativity that Andy Coto Niki Deo
see brings.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
And at all those four coaches, Freeman is like a
mile ahead a likability then the other dudes. Brady Quinton
joining us right now on the Petrosen Money Show, certainly
a likable guy. Brady with all the criticism and all
the reaction game and I mean, people don't even wait
for a quarter to be over one of these games
before they react and call it a terrible game. And
(44:15):
we've screwed up the whole thing. But if you could
change one thing about the college football playoff right now,
what would it be?
Speaker 5 (44:23):
I would change the way we go about seating the
top four teams. You know, I'm not sure Penn State
should have got such an easy drawl the way they did,
or Poise State was deserving of the buye. Look at
the end of the day, you know, however we go
about constructing you, you're gonna have to go through an
initial round of games in order to get ultimately to
the national championships. So it just depends on how we
(44:44):
want to do it. But there's the hard thing about
answering that is, as much as I want to change it,
so we have the top four ranked teams by the
committee are the top four to get buys. There's also
so many differences between the conferences, you know, see so
why plays eight conference games the Big ten? Pl You know?
How are we challenging teams to play a more difficult
non conference schedule. All those things I think need to
(45:04):
be addressed before we start worrying about the seeding within
the playoff, because I think that will take care of
itself if we can figure out the regular season portion
of this.
Speaker 4 (45:12):
What about shrinking the time A lot of people have
been talking about that. Now all the team with buys,
you know, ended up getting blown off the field or
lost their games. Are we are we putting way too
much time between the last game these teams play in
the first playoff game.
Speaker 5 (45:28):
I don't know if I buy that necessarily. I mean,
I look, I think it's always good to have additional
prep and rest for some of these players. It's a
one year sample size, so I don't want to read
into it too much. You know, you look at the
NFL and the way they've kind of handled you know,
there when they initially had two teams getting at buying,
now it's only one. You kind of go back and
look as that impacted the number one seeds at least
not in recent history of when they've got to seven
(45:49):
teams and now that are part of the playoffs. I
think this team is eventually gonna get the four teams
or are probably only going to get you know, a
couple of teams that actually you know, get buys when
it's all said and done. But again, I'm not going
to overreact from this first year and what that's what
Brady I mean.
Speaker 4 (46:03):
I mean like the length of time before we get
the thing started, Like the fact we're going to a month off,
Like is that too much time?
Speaker 3 (46:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (46:09):
I know, because these kids have a lot of other
things going on too, right, Like lillardam was taking final
exams before they played Indiana. You know, they didn't move
sam schedule, so they're literally players were trying to study
and go through all this while preparing for arguably one
of the bigger home games will over playing in their
entire life. So I think you've got to allow these
kids to be able to handle the workload that we're
(46:30):
presenting them. Right now, we're still calling them student athletes.
Speaker 3 (46:33):
The one and only Brady Quinn as hero to the
people coast to coast, joining us once again on the
Pettersen Money Show on AM five seventy LA Sports, your
home of the Dodgers and UCLA Hoops tonight. If they
play the game, this is the ultimate playoff matchup for
the title for Brady Quinn is Ohio State. A lot
(46:55):
of Ohio State types still feel as if Brady's one
of their own because he's a hometown who slipped away
to the Catholics, and of course, you know he's very
connected with Notre Dame. What will happen, Brady if those
two clash chest to chest in a championship.
Speaker 5 (47:12):
Well, I can tell you this much, their name's not
gonna be favored. I mean, I'll put it this way.
Not a lot of people understand how banged up this
Notre Dame team is. And this isn't an excuse, but
we lost you know, booth Tackles, the starting tackle before
the season even began. On the left side. They lost
the right tackle as well. You look at their defensive front.
Riley Mills leads the team in sacks. They lost him
after the Notre Name Indiana game. Howard Cross got banged up.
(47:35):
So they're thin in the interier and they're thin on
the edges. I mean r j oben Obin, who is
one of the transfers from Duke. He had a sack
all season. Then he shows up and get a script
sack that sets up the touchdown past to Collins in
that in that playoff game last week. So they are
extremely thin on the defensive front. Our best cornerback, Ben
Morrison's out will be a first round pick in next
year's draft. And so the fact that they've gotten to
(47:55):
this point, you know, with all of these injuries they've
sustained and been able to overcome, it's been quite remarkable.
So we'll see how much they've got left in the
tank to take on Penn State. And he's going to
challenge them physically too. But but Ohio State again at
their best that they are the best team in the country.
There's a reason why they've got that twenty million dollars
nil budget and all those players who came back on
a mission.
Speaker 4 (48:14):
You mentioned Smith, but not draft eligible? Is is Tyler Warren?
Like the base is he the best player that we're
going to see on the field. People are freaking out
about that guy, saying he's like the next Gronk or something.
Speaker 5 (48:25):
He's a stud. I mean, he really is a great athlete.
You know, Petros has seen him too, and kicking do
it all. I mean they put him back there a wildcat.
I mean he's snapped football's before, and he's obviously split
out as a wide receiver. He's thrown passes. I mean,
he legitimately is a tremendous athlete who I'd be shocked
if he wasn't a first round pick just because from
his utility and the way they can utilize him. But
that's the other thing is that, you know, I'm curious
(48:47):
to see how Notre Dame and now Golden their defensive
coordinator we're trying to match up with him because Andy Colannick,
he moves him around in a variety of ways, so
it's hard to really get a beat on, you know,
sticking someone on him, like you know, Kyle Hamilton back
in the day when he played at Notre Dame, he
would have been the perfect defender to put on a
guy like Tyler Warren. They don't have someone like them.
I mean Don Schulder maybe at safety will be someone
(49:07):
you might see in that role. But again, he's a
big athletic guy who he's tough to be ald a
guarded space. So curious what the game plan is going
to look like on Thursday night.
Speaker 3 (49:17):
All right, Brady, protect your neck and I'll talk to
you in the morning. Are you going to all these games?
You got to? Right, You've got to show your faith.
Speaker 5 (49:25):
I'm going to Notre Dame Penn State. I will not
be able to make it to Dallas for Ohio State.
Texas we got We've got one on the way, so
January sixteenth.
Speaker 3 (49:34):
Look at that.
Speaker 5 (49:34):
He doesn't come before then, yeah, we gotta get that. Yep,
all that good stuff.
Speaker 4 (49:40):
Trying to fix the population gap alone Brady and Sacaroni.
Speaker 5 (49:44):
Elon Musk challenged me, I'm answering the call.
Speaker 4 (49:47):
The team is expanding in Jim Harball Parlan, the team
is expanding.
Speaker 5 (49:52):
Truth. Pet Trus told me not to have a TV
in your bedroom and use that equate to a lot
of kids. That's what he said.
Speaker 3 (49:58):
That is what I said, but I said, mirror the
ceiling eighty five style. Let's go Love you, Brady, talk
to you in the morning. Thanks for doing it, brother,
Love you guys. Thanks. Ready, there it goes well, Matt,
we got this fire burning, fire, fire, fire burning, you
don't like it.
Speaker 4 (50:18):
The game is still still on as of right now. UCLA, Michigan,
Polly Pavilion. There's a real the Beta Theta Gulf Night's
still on.
Speaker 3 (50:29):
Don't know. Well, there's real questions as to whether or
not that it's the Pacific or Castaic. I'm getting multiple
text from Castak of pictures of planes like till Kate's
just shove this upside like people are really calling you out, Kates.
I don't think fresh water conducts electricity at all. If
I go on my bath and I throw like an
(50:49):
electronic thing on there, I'll be fine. Yeah, you'll be good.
Speaker 4 (50:52):
Every time I get out of the ocean, I got
lightning bolts coming on my fingertips. Yeah, you're like that,
like the Emperor, like the static shock. That's how I
like to be like the Emperor. That's how much hate
I have in honestly, And then you take a breath
like the Emperor, and then you go back after Skywalker.
(51:15):
We'll be back with your word number, song of the Day.
Stay safe out there, everybody,
