the LA Dodgers in sync and down the Green Petrosin Money,
Rosin Money, Rosen Money, ros In Money.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Oh yeah, Emotional hurt is the price a person has
to pay in order to be independent.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Iman out the Petrosen Money AM five seventy LA Sports
Live Everywhere. This is our second hour, hence the Jacob Miller.
We're on a flex alert today started at two. We'll
go two more hours until five o'clock. We got Clippers
basketball tonight. It will be Clippers versus Nuggets, tip off
at six pregame at five, and this hour will feature

(01:06):
the Jameses. We will have sweet James Bergener in the
back end of the hour exactly as we love to
play some grab ass with James. Considering what's happening in
the Southland with the fires and insurance claims certainly going
to ask him what the proper path is for you
to follow if you're running into some situations and obstacles,

(01:27):
to make sure you are taken care of if you're
put out. So that's gonna happen back in this hour, then,
James Worthy, the Lakers coming off a brutal loss last night,
an opportunity for Charles Barkley to continue piling on them
on TNT. Oh No, and he will never miss an
opportunity now that JJ Redick is taking shots at him
moving forward?

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Why why get it an in fight with an octopus? Yes,
now in this case the biggest octopus in the.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Sea, you can't win, not possible to win. That the
credit doesn't know any better and obviously thinking about both
similar to JJ Reddick, the Laker's head coach who live
in the Palisades, his family had to evacuate. Steve Kerr
still has a place there. His family had to evacuate
as well, all of you that are dealing with evacuations now.

(02:12):
The death toll up to five and the heating.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Fire eating fires really deadly, and businesses are burning down
in Alta Dina and just miles away from the fire,
these embers are moving and burning down like random buildings.
It's like an ald and stuff. It's crazy. Kfi's got
all the latest on what's going on in Altadena. Looks
like just a wild situation the Palisades, And hopefully this

(02:38):
wind will die down at a certain point this afternoon
and we can start to get to looking forward and healing.
Sweet James will have some great information. We know a
lot of people are hurting. It's hard to do great
sports talk, but it is our job to be a
little light, especially in times like these, and direct people
over to KFI AM six forty or the latest. Uh

(03:03):
the obstructions Matt in Houston that we were talking about, Well,
I just I think I figured it out. I'm gonna
give you like three or four and you can do two.
Does that sound feasible?

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yeah, all right, all right, So I.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Mean I'll try to do as many as I can.
We come on what Friday is two to four, two
to four thirty? What is it? Two to four thirty?

Speaker 1 (03:26):
I think, yeah, it's a short show. So we got
the water Wall, which I'd like you to go visit
the water wall. That's what I suggested. Yeah, I didn't
hear you suggest that Tim.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
I literally was on the air.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
I said, didn't I heard it? Come on, I heard it.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Water.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
I tip my cap to you for the sixty five
foot water wall, thank you.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
No, it was a text. So the water wall. I'd
like you to see the water wall, Matty, as you
you're very a man of water, a water man now,
And I'd like you to go to La Carafe, the
oldest bar in all of Houston. And it looks like
because you're a white man and you like that, butthole,

(04:11):
I pa, just like me, brother. It looks like the
Saint Arnold's Brewery, the Saint Arnold's Brewery in Houston, which
is unique to Houston. Like people are trying to like
Loupees tortillas and the Mexican Hooters, Kulichi Town or whatever
it is, and uh torchies, tacos and all these things.

(04:34):
I know about these they are not unique to Houston.
La Carafe, Saint Arnold's Brewery. And that's from Heath in Austin,
Texas that sent us that. And the water wall, I
think right now, Okay, I mean there's a camp I
can send you to go see water wall. Let me

(04:55):
see Saint Arnold. Sounds familiar. I'm trying to remember if
that's where you have to go back the last time.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Yes, it is. That's exactly where we went last time
we were there, and the place is fantastic, so I
would be happy. It will probably end up going back
there on Thursday night, So that's part.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
There's a lot of people that want me to get
you to locate coding and start a life of drink
and lean and simp and syrup, and that purple drink
is not in your future in Houston. Some people are
saying the obstruction of going to Houston is enough, but
not for me. That's true, So we'll have uh, we'll
have more on that as the week develops. But those ones, Matt,

(05:29):
you can chalk those up and get to work. It
is time for the word of the day.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Hurt me with his words.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
The word of the day.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
And of course we all need. Today's word of the
day is headlines because we all need a little cheer. Matt.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
What should the headline be today? Sports? That's all we
think about.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
Here's the other story nobody's talking about.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
You know, I'm not a racist. Headline are the headlines?
I gotta say, I don't remember Kate's mentioning any uh.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
I'll just say that my freaker ghost.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Did you not I heard it? I heard it?

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
He was trying to curate all the texts he had.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Not easy es.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Two things.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
One hard thing for Petelina is going down. What are
the headlines?

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Matt?

Speaker 1 (06:13):
One of our favorite Kansas City Chief segments. I know
how much you love it. This is a good one, though, Matt,
and you might be in Kansas City in a matter
of days.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
It's very true.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcey were recently photographed in New
York City and Matt Travis Kelcey was wearing a two
hundred and twenty five dollars trucker hat.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
It seems to be a bit incongruous.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
A two hundred and twenty five dollars trucker hat from.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Nine A five dollars one from the local gas and sip.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
It's like a some brand that I don't know. Kelsey
with a two hundred and twenty five dollars trucker hat,
and he was wearing Louis Vauton boots.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
People got money.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
That's what could be between your bolts and a potential
title run. Travis Kelcey and his Louis Vuton boots and
his two hundred and twenty five dollars trucker hat. Many
have noticed Kelsey's interest in fashion since he started daily
dating Taylor Swift has swelled to a very just a

(07:29):
priapism size, And now that they're out of the honeymoon
phase of their relationship and into the quote unquote serious
relationship phase of their love affair, he's working to look
a lot cooler. Hence the two hundred and twenty five
dollars trucker hat and the Louis Vuton boots with the fur.

(07:54):
So good luck, Matt, you get by Houston.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
That says NFL football Like a two hundred twenty five
dollars trucker hat.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
What are the head?

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Remember when Von Dutch started charging about sixty seventy bucks
for trucker hats.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
I saw somebody rocket Von Dutche the other day. I
saw somebody rocking Von Dutch the other day. I think
he's making a comeback. I think, yeah. My middle daughter,
who's typically on top of wow of the things, had
mentioned Von Dutch a couple of Von dutch beck Isn't
that weird? It's like one of the most offensive, egregious reason. Yeah,

(08:31):
it was exactly right. It was the Kutch. It was
Kutcher and punked and all that stuff that would get
him canceled.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
Now, right, do you guys ever watch a documentary about
that how it got back to popularity in order for
those guys you just mentioned Kutcher to get involved into it,
to fascinating documentary about it.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Well, they used well, it's Dutch original, you mean the.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
Name and how they used the you know, vond Dutch
name to gre anything to do with Ed Hardy, I
don't think so.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Hardy was another one. He was more of the that
was more of the shirts, right, yeah, Dutch was like
the caps and the glasses.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Ed Hardy was I don't even think he's still alive,
or wasn't even alive when the shirts came out, or
was barely alive. It wasn't. It was a guy named
Christian Atta Jay who made the shirts, I think. But
Ed Hardy was a tattoo artist. Ed Hardy was the
apprentice to Sailor Jerry, the very famous Honolulu tattoo guy,

(09:26):
and he did those Sailor Jerry style tattoos with like
the Aloha monkey where the o is the monkey's butthole
in Aloha and those and then you know, like the
tiger and all that stuff became the shirts and that
became like a swollen douche guy, spiky haired thing. Is
that coming back to or just the Von Dutch because
Dutch comes back, you know, ed Hardy is right on

(09:48):
its heels. Yeah, and then Affliction is right there too,
breathing on its face.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
That used to be right up the street from me
in Seal Beach was the Affliction head they come.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
You thought you should have gone right back to the flick.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
They used to flip like bulldozer tiles in their parking lot,
Like what.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
Else would they flick it?

Speaker 3 (10:05):
You gotta be spool. I don't know if Von Dutch is,
like I said, very anecdotal, the Von Dutch story.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
I saw somebody in a Von Dutch hat the other
day and I was like, God damn, I mean, here
we go.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
Their trucker hats are all on sale, so maybe it's
not making a comeback. They were eighty nine dollars, they're
now down to forty eight, thirty eight, fifty eight, so
maybe it's not making a comeback.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Two hundred and fifty bucks for the Travis Kelsey trucker hat.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
So we got that.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
We'll be right. Oh, here we go with the number.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
The number, number of the day. Renumber. The day's twenty
twenty five. Let's we've already checked in once. Let's check
in again with the consumer Electronics show happening out there
in Las Vegas, twenty twenty five. Every day new items
are unveiled.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
They feel like it's out fire.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
I wish they did. Jeez, I wish they did. But alas,
you're gonna have to settle. For today's focus. A couple
days ago, it was the electrocute you spoon that stimulates
the taste of salt. Yes, electric shock for those of
you with sodium issues.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Take that to the water wall.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Today we focus on something. Listen, I understand the green
is a big deal and the people want to save
the world, and so there's going to be opportunities for
people to make money selling products to people that want
to save the world. The Eco flow hat is something
our listeners might want to look up. It is a

(11:34):
ridiculous looking floppy hat like a Panama hat, and it's
brim or I guess, I guess it would be a brim, right,
but it's circular like a bucket hat is all solar panels,
and as you walk around in the sun, your ecoflow
has a cord that can charge your phone or any

(11:55):
of your portable devices.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
So you make yourself like a like a desert wind
mail of sorts.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Basically like you are a walking solar panel and.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
A walking power source.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
And a walking power source. If you want to wear
this incredibly interesting looking hat, is it last three.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Travis Kelsey's two hundred and twenty five dollars.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Trucker hat UH one twenty nine dollars. Nice is what
the power hat sells for right now. So if you're
you know, look, maybe you're going to the beach and
you're sitting on the sand and you're like, crap, I
forgot my brick and my phone is running out of
power and there's nowhere to plug it in. Bang echo
flow power hat with solar panels in it has got

(12:41):
you covered. So that is your Wacky Cees item of
the day. May you bundle it with a spoon that
electrocutes you slightly to stimulate the taste of salt, stimulate
your tame damn right.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Call it.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
This is the song of the.

Speaker 6 (13:03):
Today's song of the day is this Old Guitar by
John Denver. As the Clippers are in Denver to face
the Nuggets. Great Sports Talk watchs you up to a
pregame with Adam Alls and starting at five o'clock.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Well, hanging there, everybody, We got an hour and a
half more of show before we get to the Clippers again.
AM six forty kfi's got the latest on all the
disasters around town. Take care of you and yours and
hang in there. We'll be right back on this. We
just won't be defeated Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
James Worthy next, Petrus in Money. AM five seventy LA
Sports Live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app Remember all the
fire coverage on our sister station, KFI AM six. The
latest road close, evacuation orders and coverage for all the

(14:04):
fires strewn about our southern California area and the destruction
they are causing can be heard there again. That is
AM six forty KFI. You can get it on the
iHeartRadio as well. Now, Pete's time for James Worthy driven
by Ford. If there's one thing we like, it's choices.
You can find yours with Ford F one to fifty
Gas hybrid or all electric. The F one fifty Lightning

(14:25):
Toughness smart can only be called F one fifty.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
Well, we like to do sports and distract people from
real life. Not easy on days like this. Our dear
friend James Worthy, who is a huge part of our
show in Brentwood all night of course, restless night standing
in his backyard and looking out over his neighbors who
are really struggling. Tough times in the city, but always

(14:50):
great to catch up with. One of the great lakers
of all time, Emmy Ward winner on Spectrum Sportsnet and
just a great voice to hear times of trouble no
matter what's going on. We are really grateful for James Worthy.
How are you, James. We hope for the best for
you and your family.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
Hey, man, like everybody else in the city, just hoping
and praying that everything's all right. I'm I'm in Brentwood,
about four miles from sunset and a Malfie and it's
it's pretty pretty dicey over here. Everyone's alert, so keeping

(15:28):
my fingers crossed. Hadn't been evacuated yet, but hey, just
hoping that everybody can can get through this safely.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
And let's pray that these winds died down. You know,
you've lived in Los Angeles a great, great part of
your life, James, and you know what these things are like.
But this one, just those wins last night, they really
kind of hit differently in the city. God bless you.
We hope that everything works out for you, guys.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Last night the Lakers took a big l I mean,
poor jj Reddick. You know, his family's being a vacuated
He's out there trying to coach Kawhi Leonard has left
the Clippers because his family's been evacuated temporarily. So overall,
I mean, you saw the Lakers kind of turning around
and push forward and create some positive things. How much
of a setback was last night? Losing to a team

(16:17):
that didn't have any of their stars.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Really? Yeah, you know, to me, it put a big
dent in the success that they had already achieved. You know,
they every since Max Christie has been inserted. You know,
they were something like six and two, seven and two, Okay,
Houston number two in the West. Pretty good team. You

(16:41):
don't accept the loss, but you move on from that one.
But to lose to Dallas without Kyrie Irvin and without
Luka Doncon's That tells me something about your mentality going
into the game. You wasn't taking them seriously. You didn't
realize that you were better than they were and put
the smash factor on them early and get it over with.

(17:04):
You gave them confidence, Dinwi he is a good pick player.
Washington's pretty good player. You know, they coached, they had
a coach that knew how to iso different peal people,
and the Lakers didn't respond at all. I was very disappointed.
Maybe to me it was one of the most disappointed

(17:25):
loss of the year, given the ground they had achieved
and they're going in and lay that that stink bomb
was just I mean, even the coach said he couldn't
recognize what they were doing based on what they had
talked about pregame. So that's that's all mental.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Can a home stand help with that?

Speaker 4 (17:47):
You know?

Speaker 3 (17:47):
I know it was just as short is the old
Texas two step. But you come home and you're here
for over a week. Is that good? Is it better
to be on the road away from the distractions when
you're trying to you know, you got Charles Barkley taking,
you know, on shots at you on National TV. You
got your coach saying he doesn't recognize is it better
to be home and try to get settled considering everything
that's going on out here, Is it better to be

(18:08):
on the road and away from all the distractions.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
I think it's better to be home right now. You know, obviously,
you know we have the fires going on. That's one thing.
You're going to be close to your family. But I
think the Lakers need some time together in their building,
in their practice facility, get some practice time, kind of
have a meeting of the minds, have a team meeting

(18:32):
without the coach, and honestly air it out. Honestly, everybody
have two minutes uninterrupted and air it out. Because it's
it's December, and I mean they still have time. No,
it's January. I'm sorry, January.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Hey, I bought it.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
I mean, you know, yeah, yeah, we're good. Herbie Pauls right, Yeah,
it's early January, and they don't have, you know, time
before the All Star break to clean up some stuff.
Now his homestand it's a chance for them to do that.
So I think it's good to their home, get some
practice time in and get back on track.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
We last year Anthony Davis was in the MVP conversation,
he played seventy six games. You look at the numbers
and they're almost identical. You know, he's twenty. He's actually
more points, a little bit less, half a rebound less,
exact same amount of assists, pretty much exact same amount
of blocks and steals. Maybe a tenth up and one

(19:33):
a tenth down in the other Is he having an
MVP caliber season, because it seems like nobody's mentioning him,
and when they do, it's almost like, yeah, they need
a little more out of a D. Like what are you
seeing from him so far?

Speaker 4 (19:45):
The numbers don't lie and his performance doesn't lie. I
think he's definitely if you're talking about MVPs and either
Defensive Player of the Year or MVP got to be
in the top five in my opinion, top three. Maybe.
I don't think people recognize his dominance way better than Gobert.

(20:06):
And Gobert has gotten Defensive Player of the Year two
or three times. Can't touch ad on the defensive end.
What he does. He can guard one through five. I've
seen guys have layups and they see a D and
then they pass it out, and I think, you know, look,
I don't knock people who vote for this stuff. Okay,

(20:28):
I don't knock them, but I think they need to
add some players to the voting, you know, people who
kind of understand what you know, what dominant players do
and how they're affected. But I think a D for
sure should be in the you know, in the in
the top three or four of conversation when it comes
to those awards, regardless of the record.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
NBA Hall of Famer James Worthy joining us on the
Petros and Money Show, and even a Hall of Famer,
no doubt, James Worthy always very read sent to never
make comments on anybody's locker room unless you know you
were in that locker room, unless it was your locker room.
But I do want to ask you generally, uh, you know,
you talk about having an honest conversation, and and you

(21:13):
guys on those Laker teams that were so great. You
guys were all grown men with egos and flaws and
all this stuff, and I'm sure you guys had to
air out stuff whenever it came up. Do you think
that with the way athletes are built today and the
way they travel and the individual nature of the NBA,
do you think they're able to do it in the

(21:34):
same way that you guys were. I mean, do you
think they're still able to have those kind of come
to Jesus moments? I'm interested in knowing.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
I hope so, I mean, I hope that they are.
I hope that that players aren't afraid to voice their opinions.
That's the only way it's going to work. I mean,
you go to any corporate boardroom you got you have
people cursing each other out, calling each other names, you know,
but they end up going to dinner that night and
figuring it out because they want the company to do well. Now, obviously,

(22:06):
you know people might be afraid to speak up, you know,
with a with a guy like Lebron or a guy
like a D or you know certain you know, certain
things you might not want to bring up. But it
needs to be brought up. Everyone needs to be exposed.
If if if, if, if a player is not playing defense,
you know, and not getting back whoever it is, whether
it's whether it's whether it's Austin Reeves or Max Chris,

(22:30):
or whether it's Lebron James or a D they need
to be called out for. That's what teams do. You
monitor each other constructively. And if you can't communicate like that,
then you got a problem. Then you got you know,
guys whispering over here, Guys whispering over here, and that
doesn't make uh for a good locker room. So when
you have a game like you did against Dallas and

(22:53):
you know you're better and they've had a you know,
some some other stink bombs in the past, sit down
and talk about it and let the guys you know
who don't ever play, who are sitting over there witnessing
this stuff, let them start the conversation out with honesty.
And that's how you build I Basically, some of these
other teams are doing it that looks like, you know,

(23:15):
they're playing well, they're together, but yeah, the Lakers are
too good not to have completeness, and completeness involves playing
well and monitoring each other well with honest communications.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Last thing for you, James, we always like to kind
of go national or if there's a story out there,
just kind of your thoughts on how Miami and Jimmy
Butler and the superstar that demands a trade even though
he's under contract for fifty plus million dollars and kind
of rut the right approaches to that because everybody's like, oh,
pat rileyn't going to put over that crap. And now

(23:55):
Jimmy's on suspension, he's getting paid and they're talking about
trading them.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
Well, I know, pat Rally, you know he'll pay you
for what you're worth when that time comes, but he's
not going to pay you for what you've done in
the past. I don't think Rowley plays that way. So
it's going to be interesting to see if anybody will

(24:22):
pay Butler what he wants. Somebody might do it, but yeah,
Rales doesn't you know. When he draws the line, it's
drawn and that's just the way it is. So Butler's
going to get what he wants. And that's out of Miami.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
The Great James Worthy. Our thoughts are worthy of James.
We hope that it's a way better night for the
entire city of you guys in Brent. Would God bless
you and your family and thank you for your friendship.
Thanks for doing it today under the adverse circumstances and
talking to the listeners providing a little distraction.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
You got it better to keep everybody in your prayers. Man,
I'll be good.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
Absolutely, James Worthy driven by Ford. If there is one
thing we like, its choices, find yours with Ford F
one to fifty as hybrid or all electric tough. This
smart can only be called F one fifty. Hope everything
is all right over there in Brentwood for James.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Hell, it's brutal out there. Sh Hang it there, everybody,
and hold tight to the people that are close to you.
Kfi's got all the latest with the disastrous wildfires here
in town. We will talk to Sweet James, the dense
Beard of Justice about some of the insurance angles involved.
Sweet James has a team ready at eight hundred and

(25:37):
nine million. For those of you with insurance questions, or
if you're heard or have a grievance, give him a call.
Find out what's going on. Sweet James.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
Next, Petrow some money A five seventy ELA Sports Live
Everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. Remember Saturday, we got a
change in broadcast location the Chargers Tech Since playoff game.
We'll kick off here on AM five seventy and KFI

Speaker 1 (26:26):
It is time for some justice. Order in the court,
Order in the court. It's time for justice with Sweet James. Well,
there's only one Sweet James Bergner, the dense Beard of Justice,
a man that helps us with his soothing voice and
his powerful ways understand the ways of the world, the

(26:48):
ways of the law. Who's liable for what? If you've
ever been in an accident, car accident, motorcycle accident, maybe
a dog has bitten your balls, you gotta call Sweet
James at eight hundred and nine million, eight hundred and
nine million, or Sweet James dot com, the Dense Beard
of Justice and a longtime friend of the show. Sweet James,
a Southern California guy for a very long time. It's

(27:12):
got to be I know you're not in town, but
it's got to be pretty devastating watching from afar all
these places, you know, and all these people suffering.

Speaker 7 (27:19):
It really is, And you know, what. This is not
my first fire rodeo here, but every time it's just
shocking terrible to see all the devastation that happens.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
It really is.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
So let's ask some questions about the way people go
to court, or how they can recover, or what they
do in these situations, because I mean, to see somebody's
house just burn to the ground and knowing like what's
next for those people, it is pretty heartbreaking. I mean

(27:49):
in a place like the Palisades where there's a lot
of affluent people and beautiful homes and actors and all
these really famous people that have lost their homes, that
are they all insured up the ass? I mean, what happens?

Speaker 4 (28:03):
That's a good question.

Speaker 7 (28:04):
I have two dear friends that have lost their homes,
and we have to look at this thing. Now, here's
the thing. You know, typically read the insurance policies and
they exclude acts of God.

Speaker 4 (28:14):
What are acts of God?

Speaker 7 (28:16):
Those are things that are unforseeable and unpreventable by humans.
That's hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, but wildfires are foreseeable and are preventable. Still,
insurance companies, because they're tricky, they do exclusions. They if hey,
we'll cover everything except for fire, and if you want
fire at then an additional huge premium. There was a
long time I couldn't get fire insurance on my house

(28:37):
because I was in a fire.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
Zone and it was very expensive.

Speaker 7 (28:40):
So you have to have that coverage.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
WHOA. So all these houses are, these thirty million dollar
homes in the Palisades, if they don't have an extra
layer of fire insurance, they're just stuck holding the bag.

Speaker 7 (28:53):
Yeah, typically, if you're within one hundred yards of brush area,
you're in a fire zone. And to do that, they
can go ahead and charge an amazing amount of money
for additional coverage for the for fire insurance. And as
a matter of fact, there's two carriers that stopped issuing
policies for fire insurance last year, All State and I
think State Farm. They won't even be in the issue
fire coverage at all.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
So what's the point of having insurance if they're not
going to help you when you're freaking.

Speaker 7 (29:16):
Exactly exactly, Petros exactly so you can get it. There
are third parties that go ahead and offer additional coverage,
but again it's very expensive if you live in these
high risk areas like the Palastades are so Yeah, most
of these people don't have thirty million dollars houses without
being savvy, they are likely covered.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
What about James, what about the cars? You know, all
those cars that the people were told to abandon. I
don't know if you saw that. So what happens with
your car insurance? If your car is burned by the fire,
and let's say you don't even live there, Let's say
you're just yeah, hey, I work there. I work at
one of these houses and I'm trying to leave. Will
car insurance cover your car being burnt?

Speaker 4 (29:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (29:59):
I watched a just move them over? Or yeah, getting
burned down? Yeah, the insurance company is gonna have to
cover that. Absolutely. This is a state of emergency. The
governor's declared it. Biden has obviously educated that Settle money
will come. But yeah, you will be covered for something
like that.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
The one and only Sweet James giving us a little perspective,
because once the fire is clear, God help us all,
then the lawyers and the insurance companies are going to
come in. And there's nobody that helps you understand it
better than Sweet James, the dense beard of justice. He
doesn't come on here and talk about the Lakers. Eight
hundred and nine million.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
Does that be stupid?

Speaker 1 (30:36):
Yeah, this is what we're going to do, the one
and only, Sweet James. Now, there's a lot of you know,
there's a lot of finger pointing out there, Sweet James,
and maybe some of it is I mean a lot
of it is now being reported in the mainstream media,
which doesn't often happen when it starts on social media.
But people talking about how how we were grossly unprepared

(30:57):
and things like this, some even Rick Caruso, that really
rich dude, uh saying there there was no water in
the water fountain. Uh when they tried to, uh to
get the water pressure going on the fire hydrants and
the palisades.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
Is that kind of stuff actionable? If the if they
if people can prove that the city wasn't ready and
their house burning.

Speaker 7 (31:16):
You know what, here's that here we're going to go
back to that foreseeable here you're in a high risk area,
high fire zone area. Absolutely the should the city should
have that ability to go ahead and have a water ready.
So there might be some liability there there obviously, you know,
some exclusions and stuff, but that is going to be
looked at severely. If there was no water there. That
is just a we pay, we pay taxes to have

(31:38):
that there. And if it's not there, that water is
not ready. There should be some there's there's a headshould.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Roll well, certainly.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
We would recommend people reaching out to you, sweet James.
Eight hundred nine million. Yeah, if you have any concerns
with your status and the insurance company you pay exorbitant
sums in premiums too, only to have them tell you no,
try to string you along. The second you tell them
you have an attorney, thang, things change immediately.

Speaker 7 (32:05):
Yeah, I have a special team standing by right now,
ready to help. Then the fire victims go ahead and
call eight hundred nine million, and I've got a team
for you.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
If I could shift, though, James, if you don't.

Speaker 8 (32:15):
Call a hose right there, if I may shift to
much lighter fare, Not that we don't, you know, we
obviously understand the gravity of the situation surrounding the wildfires here.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
But there it is eight hundred and nine million. That's
where you're going to get real action. Let's say that
I am relieved of my duties as a host of
a TV show. Let's say I have an option in
my contract the company tells me they're not going to
pick it up. And then I find out that the
chair that I once occupied is now being manned by

(32:52):
an attractive woman, and she has taken my spot as
the host of that show. It is then a There
is then an accusation that there was a deal made
behind the scenes due to some sexual relations that may
have placed her into that chair.

Speaker 7 (33:10):
You literally got screwed out of a job.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Yeah, literally, if in fact there were a paper trail
or a text thread or an audio recording that in fact,
that sort of thing did take place. That I'm on
a show until twenty two and then next thing I know,
I'm out and the person that replaced me three years
later has been accused of being in an affair to

(33:37):
promote her to the position I once had. Is that actionable?
Could I sue the company?

Speaker 7 (33:43):
You know probably that you could sue them? Of course,
would you win? It's not discriminatory. You can discrimine against
against race, thanks, religious preference, sexual preference, whatever. Here, what
were we discriminated against?

Speaker 3 (33:58):
Well, I wasn't the one that slept the executive, and
that's why I got let down. She did. I didn't
sleep with him. She did. Now I'm out and she's
in my chair.

Speaker 7 (34:08):
Well, maybe there were other defenses going to see there
are other reasons that were replaced with Matt Smith with
this other person that yeah, you're going to say, hey,
it was different reasons. Demographics say that they wanted to
see a pretty girl instead of.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
You know what I mean, you kidnaideah rock and.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
Roller eight hundred and nine million. If you have questions
about your insurance or what's going on out there, and
it's certainly one of the more chaotic times we can
remember in the city called Sweet James and his people,
who's got a team standing by always a beacon of
light and uh and reason when we have disasters and
things of that nature, because none of us really know

(34:49):
what to do except for Sweet James at eight hundred
and nine million. Thank you, Sweet James. Have a wonderful
time out there in Chicago. Stay warm, I.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
Will be safe.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
Everybody, please, thank you James eight hundred nine million. Don't
let the insurance company jerk you around. Take action by action.
It's just dialing a phone number.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
Yeah, tell them what's cool on That's right, we got
another hour to go. Top story of the day. Quick,
it's dead and a live guy Bertie the day, and
then we'll get to the Clipper game, which is in
Denver tonight. That's why they're playing. So enjoy the show
and thank you for listening.
