og James Worthy joined us in the last segment Lakers
Miami Tonight and night we will have the latest on
(02:29):
the Sasaki Sweepstakes with David Vase in the very next
segment regarding the Dodgers and another superstar Japanese player, another
superstar player from the Pacific rim O Tani High Song

(02:53):
then sweet James is going to join us to talk
about fire insurance, crazy red tape, crazy stuff like that
Act of God versus Arson, things of that nature. But
right now, Matt, it's time for the word of the day,
his words.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
The word of the day.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Today's word of the day is F one dating news.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Matt, F one.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
I love the wags, but this one is way more
relatable than like, you know, oh Cole is dating some
you know, art student model from Prague. It's not like that.
Although Czechoslovakia porn check excuse me, just Czech Republic one. Anyway,
(03:42):
that's it. That's neither here nor there, Matt. We're talking about.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Somebody holding someone.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
You know, uh, Regina King, that'd be kind of cool.
Nobody from two two seven involved in this one. But
this is F one dating news. And it's bigger news
than you know, your run of the mill F one
driver dating your run of the mill European model slash
arts to latinas smoke show. Sophia Vegatta, oh yeah, who
(04:13):
seems wild like Latiga was spotted on what was what
could only be described as a flirty lunch date with
Sir Lewis all Right, Hamilton Championship F one driver only
second to maybe Schumacher in F one history. Remember Sir
(04:36):
Lewis no longer with Mercedes, going to Ferrari right now
a Ferrari driver Prano Pringo, Matt and yesterday the two
were spotted in New York City, ved Gatta and Lewis Hamilton,
as you would call.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
It, Matt the big time, Oh in the big town.
Now she is pushing.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Fifty right, well, get to that, okay, romantic gesture, playful gestures,
playful glances, romantic glances. I don't know if they are
a couple or not, Matt, but they did that creepy
couple thing where they sit next to each other, not
across from each other. Oh right, that creepy ass thing.
(05:17):
People used to do that in my dad's restaurant and
be like these people aren't going to touch their food.
They're just gonna sit there. They can't wait to go
home and f And she barely touched her food. She
barely touched her food. The Matt Sophia, Now she did
leave in an suv and he did not follow. Okay,
but that's you know, maybe tactical psyops could be. Sophia

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Matt, Yeah, that dude's really good looking. She is fifty
two years old. That's see, that's what I thought.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Now, Lewis Alright, Hamilton is forty.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Years which you don't think because you think athletes and
you figure he might be like thirty two years in.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
A while, Yeah, and you see the pictures of Lewis Hamilton,
and I looked up his past and you see a
more fresh faced young man. Now, most recently Lewis Alright,
Like Lewis Hamilton's slew of chicks that he's been linked
to over the years is really an undercover stable?
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Is that right of Mayors?
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Well, you tell me that most recently he was linked
to Shakira. Okay, Hemond.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
That works for me. Guy, she's a tiny girl.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Well, Gigi hadid in twenty fifteen, supermodel Rihanna, Okay, Kendall Jenner, interesting,
Rita Aura, one of the richies, Sophia Richie Grange, Nicki
Minaj and then your standards slew of model arts students,

These are, of course, lifestyles of the rich and the
famous man Sophia Vegana and Lewis l Right, Hamilton Ferrari

her that she used to be friends with Ellen DeGeneres.
Perhaps they should.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Does she have any kids?
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Vegantta, Yeah, Yeah, she married her high school sweetheart and
she blew out a young Latino way back, you know,
when she was like nineteen, gotcha, So her son's like
forty years old, right, weird? Yeah, it's like the same
age as the guy that's anyway, Lewis Hamilton and Sophia Vegata.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
All right, Hamilton, all right, Hamilton.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Good for you Hamilton. Now that he doesn't win every race,
he's not as upsetting as of a person. And you know, Matt,
when you see Lewis Hamilton and he slaid on them checks,
you wonder did he have the magic on? Right Ronnie?
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Right?
Speaker 5 (08:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (08:30):
But just turn it off?
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Yeah you did, shift, could have sworn I turned it off.
You did turn it off, but she knocked it back
on with the upshift. Yes, you had the magic on, Louis, Sir, Lewis,
please give me your triso.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
All right, then I give it to you.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
I suppose I will.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
It comesnaf He's the magic on that stuff here up.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
Shift to me, Louise, I have.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Next to me. Don't sit across from me. Sit next
to me, person.
Speaker 5 (09:15):
Let's share these figs together. Let me see your bits.
Speaker 2 (09:20):

Speaker 5 (09:22):

sandwiches with you.
Speaker 2 (09:27):

clothes off.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
All in due time, love, I'll get a I'll get
a leg over. I'm going to attack your magic machico.
Do you have the minco in your ponds.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Time for the number of the day?
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Number, number of the days?
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Well from the file of your computer and your phone
and all that is listening to every word you say.
I've been having a lot of conversations with a lot
of folks lately about dry January. People in my life
are subscribing to dry or damp. I've got a friend
that's doing damp January. This tell us damp January's like,
(10:12):
I got five days? What do you mean you got
five days? I can only drink five days in January.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Damn.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
I was like, well, this new Year's day count is one. Yes,
I didn't think about that six days. I got six days. No, no, no, no,
I'm gonna do five. I'm gonna do five. It's like,
and that's what it's damp January. I could never do
dry January, but I'm doing damp January. It's like, well,
I guess for a guy that drinks like five days
a week, maybe that's all right. Do a damp January.
(10:40):
So you number the day is zero. I mentioned for
hours your weekend. PBJ Trio was playing brunch at three
twenty Main and was talking to you, Gina and Jimmy
about dry January and what a freaking miserable affair it
is for people that own restaurants with bars that terrible,
terrible killing them. Same thing happened at Hennessy's when the
kids played there on a Friday night. It was like full.
(11:00):
I'm like, what the hell's going on? This place usually
packed on Fridays. Like, yeah, freaking dry January, that's what's
going on. Talk to uh. I don't know if she
wants me to talk to a veep of a big
time alcohol brand and she's like, yeah, right, try January's nightmare.
We're killing American business people with this dry January.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
I told you to stop seeing your mistress from old
English eight hundreds.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Man, I told you, I can't help it. She brings
me in those forties, step to the real I gotta
get my Molt liquor, and it's too expensive. I get
it for free because of my affair.
Speaker 6 (11:35):
You.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Refrigerator in the house is like the nothing but a
g thing.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Exactly right the forty obviously, I guess you know why
you do it. They say people lose weight, they're more healthy,
They sleep better. That's a class lends it. But I
get all these news stories or I get these advertisements,
the advance, as Lewis would say, for these zero alcohol things.
And it was one thing to get the ad for,
(12:00):
like the athletic beer. Hey, now you can get no
alcohol beer. That's not like beer.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
I don't want it. I don't wonder if it doesn't
have alcohol in it.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
And today today I get something scrolling through the Instagram
or maybe it was in the Apple News or whatever. Uh,
it's one thing to have the near beer. You don't
drink of soda, you know, drink water. You want something
that tastes like beer. But I don't know. But uh,
no alcohol Apper Tiefs, this is now a thing, no
(12:35):
alcohol Apper Tiefs. Like Campari, Yes, like Phony Negrony that's
an actual brand, Phony Negrony. Curious number two is another one.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
And I guess yeah, like a like a com PARTI
or an apparol with no alcohol in it. Is what
I was peppered with today after having a conversation with
my friend who's doing damp January yesterday showed up in
my scroll.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
So you think your phone was listening to your damp
friend and threw a non alcoholic apparol at.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
You, Yeah, phoning a Grony. Just one got thrown at
me for dry January because you know, I love my
appartif's in the afternoon, and since I'm on dry January,
I got to get one without alcohol in it.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
I don't know about the phone NEGRONI Matt, but I
know you and I received a Beloni Marconi.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Yeah, drink of soda or a nice tear yeah you know,
I mean, yeah, drink some water, diet coke.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
You know, a drink, like a cute drink with like
a weird thing in it has become almost like a fashion.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
Accessory, like an apparol spritzeat party.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
You know, you hold the drink and it's got like
a little you know, it's got some sprig of something
at it, you know what I mean, Yeah, Rosemary, and
I remember Lisa Wilson saying that, like, you know, these
not the non Mormons get to be all cute with
their cocktails. If we don't get to hold anything cool,
it's like.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Oh out now you can Lisa Phony and Grony come
in your way with one of those uh one of
those sugar cube sticks in it.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
Oh my god, they served me a real the gronie.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
I'm gonna die, Yes you are, and you're gonna go
to hell.
Speaker 5 (14:30):
Oh no.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
There was somebody like interviewing Mormon people on the BYU
campus and we love the Mormons, and they're.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Like, would you want to show record?
Speaker 3 (14:38):
They were like, would you rather have a sip of alcohol?
Or would you rather kill a dog with your bare hands?
And like they're like kill a dog. The one guy's like,
I've already eaten a dog. I mean, it's no big
deal with me. I'm like Jesus going off by you.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
I did my mission abroad. I'm a deal over that.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Yeah, yeah, there you go. Uh it is time for
the song of the day. This song of the day.
Speaker 7 (15:04):
Local three piece La band Wallows present our song of
the day called your New Favorite Song, because new music
is what you're listening to on a Wednesday afternoon right
here on the Petros and Money Show from the indie
rock Trio's fourth coming third studio record titled Model, That
will be out for public consumption on May the twenty fourth,
(15:25):
and you'll be able to see Wallows coming to a
music festival near you sometime this summer. Hits, brand new
music from the band Wallows Enjoy.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Thank You Running international signing window is open. Roki Sasaki
could be a Dodger, a Padre or a blue Jay
any minute if he so chooses. David Vassi will get
into all of that, and they continued availability of some
big name free agents like Jack Flaherty and Jerrekson, Profar
(15:57):
and Tanner's. When we return love to see you tomorrow,
will be at the Dream Center three to six pm.
Pastor Matthew Justin Turner going to join us. He's the
(16:19):
one that introduced us to the Dream Center. Dream Center
getting national attention as they should for all the great
work they're doing here in Los Angeles. Permite providing immediate
relief to people affected by the devastating fires, and we're
excited to be part of it. Tomorrow three to six pm.
Come out see us. You can donate monetarily through a
five seventy LA sports dot com with the keyword donate,
(16:41):
or you can donate in person by dropping off nonperishable
food items, baby supplies like diapers, wipes, they need pet food,
they need pet supplies, they need personal hygiene products. Or
you can volunteer. Volunteer to help move things around and
get these people of things they need. And again we'll
be out there three to six pm tomorrow, all.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
Right, David Vasse the Home of the Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
With an inside look at the Dodgers. This is the
VASS Report with David Vasse.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
David Vasse joins us right here on your Southern California
Toyota Dealer Celebrity Hotline. The Sasaki door is open and
we'll be closing at a certain point, so we'll see
what happens there and a lot of other stuff going on.
David Vasse our Dodger reporter, a M five seventy LA Sports,
but you see him on MLB Network and Spectrum Sports
(17:34):
debt LA at the Reel Underscore DV On Twitter, Dave,
how are you today?
Speaker 4 (17:40):
I'm doing great. Had a great lunch with our good
friend Mark Gubaza out in Porter Ranch, so I had
a good time with him in the valley.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
Beautiful Mark Gubaza, a wonderful man. Are your lights back on, Dave?
They are not.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
I'm at my mom's again.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Wow, damn uh, she's freaking wins. All right, Dave? When well?
Can we expect Sasaki to sign if he does sign.
We talked about this yesterday at length. Now that it's
a day later and the window is open, how much
has changed, if anything.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
Yeah, the Dodgers had a second meeting with Sazaki yesterday,
So it's going back to what we've heard all along,
that it's coming down to the Dodgers and Padres. When
Sazaki's going to make his decision, we don't know, the
only thing we know is that he has to make
it before January twenty third, which I believe is next Thursday.
(18:37):
So he's got to make that decision by then. That's
when the posting window closes. And it obvious obviously seems
like he's making his decision pretty soon after narrowing down
the teams to the Padres, the Dodgers, and the Blue Jays.
But it's coming down to the Dodgers and Padres, and
we'll see where he decides to go. But from what
(18:59):
I understand, guy, a lot of times free agents, no
matter the sport, some allow their agents to drive it.
In this case, Sazaki is the driving force behind where
he signs. That's what I've been told. It's not his
agent that's kind of steering him in the direction. From
(19:19):
my understanding. He is in full control of his free agency,
so it's not like his agent Joel Wolf is going
to kind of steer him in one way or the other.
My understanding is that Sazaki is definitely the guy that
is driving all this and the wild card if you're
talking about deciding between the Dodgers and Padres, is you Darvish,
(19:41):
who arguably is the greatest Japanese pitcher to pitch in
Major League Baseball and has been a father figure to
a lot of Japanese players. So that's the appeal and
the allure, and the Padres greatest recruiting tool is you, Darvish?
Speaker 2 (19:58):
What was the dodge greatest recruiting tool? Dave, has anything
leaked out about that meeting, about which players may have
shown up and about what their pitch might have been.
Speaker 4 (20:10):
No, nothing's leaked out. But obviously the greatest recruiting tool
for the Dodgers is their body of work. And they're
the defending World Series champions, and they have two of
his World Baseball Classic teammates, arguably two of the best
teammates he had on that team playing for them. I
would imagine Otani and Yamamoto at least one of them,
(20:33):
if not, both have been involved in this. But my
understanding is Otani has not tried to put the full
court press on Suzaki. It's been more of him just
laying out what the Dodgers do, how they do it,
how great it is. But it's not like he's trying
to pressure the young man to sign with the Dodgers.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
The one and only David Vassi is joining us right
now on the iHeartRadio app Live and on five seventy
LA Sports, Dave, you mentioned Tanner Scott yesterday. I shouldn't
bring I mean, I don't know why.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
You might as well beat me to it. I'm sorry, Matt,
Do you want to well, what about these other you
know what? Before we get to Tanner Scott?
Speaker 3 (21:14):
What about this game?
Speaker 2 (21:16):
What about these other guys that signed? The fact that
we're seeing the Giants with three million bucks, the Mets,
this five million dollars signing of a guy out of
the dr Elean Pena. Is this going to affect the
Dodgers or the Padres, whichever team. Like you said, it
feels like he's narrowed it down to those two. Are
they going to miss out on guys because they're just
(21:37):
holding their breath that Sasaki's going to be their guy
or do you think they have contingency plans and some
of these guys will hold out until they hear from
either team.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
Yeah, that's something that a lot of people have speculated.
The Dodgers and Padres are gambling on Suzaki and if
these other players that they may have had eyes on
decide to sign somewhere else. Yeah, it's a big amble
if they don't get Sazaki. But it's a gamble both
teams are willing to take. And there's been reports of
(22:06):
certain players that the Dodgers have said, you know what,
look around, sign somewhere else if you have the opportunity,
because we're on hold right now. So yeah, I'm sure
there are players that the Dodgers had eyes on that
may sign elsewhere as they wait to see where Sazaki
decides to go.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
What does it all mean for Scott?
Speaker 4 (22:28):
It means absolutely nothing. The Dodgers have a lot of
interest in Tanner Scott. Obviously, the market is not as
robust for Tanner Scott as maybe it was for other
relievers in past years. And I believe there's a really
good chance the Dodgers land Tanner Scott. If it's not
for a one year deal, maybe a two year deal.
(22:50):
I think there's a very good chance that the Dodgers
are able to be successful in trying to sign Tanner Scott.
But my understanding is they obviously have a lot of
interest in him, and Tanner Scott has a lot of
interest in the Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Just going back to these international signings makes you feel great.
I'm glad that I wasn't the one that had to
ask about it.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
I would argue in the immediate future, signing Tanner Scott
would have greater positive ramifications than signing Rokie Sazaki right
for the Dodgers in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
You mentioned Bobby Miller yesterday, Dave, what about kind of
I mean, look, there's a lot of dudes we can
get into, right, Dustin may Land and knack Emmett, Shehan, River, Ryan, Like,
which one? Is it just Bobby? Do you think it's Landing?
Could he be in that six man rotation if it's
you know Sasaki that comes over, or which of those
(23:44):
young players that dealt with injuries last year and should
be kind of on the cusp of getting ready to go.
Should we keep an eye On because we're not that
far out since they're going to open the season in
Tokyo in middle March.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
Yeah, Emmitt Sheen has a chance to pitch the second
half of the season. I'm not sure sure River Ryan
does because he had his Tommy John surgery later in
the year. Emmett obviously had it in the first month
of last season, last month's regular season, so there's an
outside chance he can pitch. Tony Gonsolin, who was pitching
(24:17):
in inner squad games for the Dodgers during the postseason run,
is certainly going to be a healthy starter. Landon Nak
has not had any arm issues. Bobby Miller looks in
tremendous condition, and my understanding is that whatever physical ailments
that he was having, he's been able to rectify those
(24:39):
and looks like the Bobby Miller that we saw when
he burst onto the scene. Also, another pitcher that I
feel like is going to have a big impact, whether
it's as a starter or a swingman ross strippling type
is Bank Casparius, who really showed a lot of intestinal
fortitude testicular for two during the postseason when he made
(25:02):
that start against the Mets. So as the great Gorilla
Monsoon would say Ben Casparius showed a lot of testicular
fortitude against the Mets, and he has great stuff and
doesn't shy away from big moments as we saw. So
I would say, if you had to ask me about
three dark horses that people aren't talking about enough, it's
Bobby Miller, It's Tony Gonsolin, and it's Ben Casparius.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
The one and only David Massey joining us on AMPI
seventy LA sparts balls and guts for Casparios. What about
Key K? Are they going to make a move on
him as he's still in play for the Dodgers. I
don't like him floating around out there. It feels weird.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
Yeah, no doubt about it. Petros, the Dodgers and Keith
k Hernandez want to make this work. There's a lot
of other players that are still out there, Pete Alonzo,
Alex Bregman that haven't signed. So I would say that
the Dodgers don't have anybody pressing to sign key K
(26:04):
at this immediate time, so they have time, especially since
Kik wants to come back. And look, we all understand
key K's value. It's in October and you know, teams
that are on the fringe of maybe being a playoff
team maybe don't have the same kind of urgency to
sign key K as a team like the Dodgers do.
(26:24):
So as we saw last year, Keyk held out, held out,
and even sign while spring training games were underway. So
I know that's not the ideal situation for him, but
it may come into where the Dodgers are already in
camp and then they sign him.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
Oh you know what, I just thought of it. I
knew I forgot something, Dave with Tanner Scott, what about
your guy? We forgot about him?
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Enriquez, he's young, but he like made his debut last year.
He's a freaking flamethrower. Could he end up being a
big part of that bullpen because he's like, what twenty
one or something, right, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
Without a doubt, big arm at Guardo and Gus. He
pitched valuable innings, He got some seasonings, some experience, So yeah,
I definitely believe he's going to pitch again. Whether or
not he breaks camp part of the Dodger bullpen remains
to be seen, but certainly during the year you're going
to see him pitch some valuable innings. Yeah, that's another guy.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Do people still think Mookie is going to play shortstop?
I mean, I know when the offseason started that was
a thing, but is it still.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
It's still the plan, Petros for Mookie Bets to be
the opening day shortstop in Tokyo, Japan. My understanding before
the holidays, he was working out with one of the
Dodger infield coaches, a Valley guy, Pedro Montero. And as
we speak right now, Mookie Bets is in Glendale, Arizona,
(27:49):
and Chris Woodward is working him out at shortstop on
a daily basis. So Mookie's already in Glendale trying to
take it to the next step to try to be
ready to be the opening day shortstop.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
What about his podcast?
Speaker 4 (28:06):
I mean he'll find time for that.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
Oh but right now, stop you want to make sure.
Speaker 4 (28:13):
Yeah, I know, right, that's part of it, you.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
Know, Matt, I'd hate for it to ruin the tour.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
What tour the world to Thank you, Dave.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
We love you, Dave. Have a great day. Thank you guys,
Our best to your lovely mother.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
Ah, she loves it. She loves having her baby boy
at home.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
All Alla, do you love it? Hello for having him
a baby boy at home.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
That's the beautiful Bianca.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
We'll be back. We're going to talk to Sweet James
in the very next segment. Sweet James knows the ancient
secrets in which to unlock the money you deserve from
your insurance company. That has never meant more to Angeline
then it has this week. So we will talk to
the dense speed of justice. Oh Matt, this song is
(29:09):
called he was a guitar player, but now he plays
the machine gun in Vietnam.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
You sent this to me over the weekend.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
I thought you didn't try.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
I enjoyed it, everybody.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
We'll be back with more great sports talk Sweet James,
and then a top story of Flip Top Dead and Alive,
fun fact and quick hits. We got it all.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Stay with us, Petro, some money, sports, big thinking to
Daveessa joining us. Last segment. If the rookie Sasaki news breaks,
you will hear it here first, we think.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
And joining us right now on your Southern California. Your
Toyota Diners Celebrity hotline is the biggest celebrity around, especially
right now when people need help. Somebody out there that
knows how to hold insurance companies accountable and that comes
in the form of the dense beard of justice order
in the court. Order in the court.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
It's time for justice with Sweet James.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
Sweet James knows those ancient secrets in which to manipulate
the insurance company back. Eight hundred and nine million is
the number. He's got a special team waiting. A lot
of people in LA need help and all around southern California,
and they always do, but especially now Sweet James joining
us right now on the phone. How's it going, Sweet James,
I'm doing pretty well.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
How are you guys doing it as old enough?
Speaker 3 (30:45):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, we're doing all right. You know, great
sports talking. Now we're going out to the Dream Center
tomorrow to uh to do the show and dance around
and you know, bring a camera crew to look like
we're really good people. So we got that going on
and people, well, we triumph to James. But you know
that there are people that really are able to help
people that are in trouble. You you really are one
(31:07):
of those people, and you've done it your job for many,
many years. How many of uh, I mean, these insurance
companies and the red tape involved. There's so much attention
to it now, you know, while the fires are still
actually active. Is that going to be advantageous to people?
Do you think the city and the bureaucracy will We'll
(31:28):
get out of the way a little bit.
Speaker 5 (31:30):
I think.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
I think so.
Speaker 6 (31:31):
The insurance stuff is going to happen down the road
a little bit. Right now, people are displaced, people of
us at homes. We're helping people right now. We had
a guy called he got his house has burnt. His
house burned down in fifteen minutes. We got to a
place to stay. We want to take care of people first.
Both my partner and I are putting up a bunch
of our personal money to make sure everyone has somewhere
to go. This is just the most unprecedented wildfire and
something California history, and we're ready. We want to help
(31:54):
people and we're going to take care of everybody. And
the insurancetuff will come later, but right now, people just
need used to be and uh, we're there.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Yeah. You know, with insurance companies it's it's tricky, James,
most of us, you know, we hope we don't have
to to lean on them and and require their assistance,
but at the same time, the amount of money they
charge us yearly, Uh to have their services. You're like, damn,
I wouldn't mind them coming out of pocket here for something,
just to make me feel a little better about the
thousands of dollars I give them every year. I was
(32:23):
reading a story about someone in Almonty that lost their
home and said their policy was only going to pay
for two days in a hotel. And it's They said
that that's kind of like standard. Is that right? It is, like,
how does that?
Speaker 6 (32:35):
It's it's it's it's it's us. And right now the
Insurance Commissioner has put them put a stop on any
canceled policies. As of October, those will go back into effect.
So we're going to see the insurance company's bend a
little bit here because we're going to make them. And
they're feel sorry for them. They're like, they're like some
of the riches companies.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Oh exactly, No, No, do yourself a favor. Read the
chapter and when McKinsey comes to town about insurance companies,
if you want to see what they're all about, that'll
open your eyes.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Are you telling me that, Jake from State Farm, super.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
Swoollen, super Swool, what about so the cancelation thing James
if you like, if you can show that that there
was no legitimate reason why they cancer have paid my
premiums year after year. I've given these people tens of
thousands of dollars. Uh, and they just flat out sent
(33:30):
me a thing that said, Hey, we're not going to
let you renew your policy. We're canceling you in October.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
You can you take me that happened That happened me
years ago was in a fire zone a state farm
and also haven't issued fire policies in the last two years.
They just said we're going to cover you, but not
for stuff you need. Basically, we'll take your money, but
not for that. So can you can you hold them
liable for like, is there anything you can do about that?
When they try to drop there's there's contract on there.
(33:57):
We're going to see some laws change.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
Share.
Speaker 6 (33:59):
We have a really good's commissioner right now, so we're
going to see if you're going to ensure house, you're
gonna have to insure it all the way. So right
now the laws are a little watered down, but we'll
see them from up here shortly, and we're going to
see a lot of government assistant and we're going to
make everybody hol We're going to see La Galvanie here
and we're going to be We're going to be put
(34:20):
back together again.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
The one and only Sweet James, the dense beard of Justice,
a true Angelino who comes to the aid of people
in real life when there are real life problems. Eight
hundred and nine million is the number. Eight hundred and
nine million. A lot of talk out there about the
liability of the city and the infrastructure of the city
not being ready for what happened, class action lawsuits, things
(34:45):
of that nature being bandied about. What do you make
of that at this very premature juncture.
Speaker 6 (34:52):
Yeah, that's that's what we're looking at right now. This
investigation is going to go on. The Tersea is going
to to come out, and we're going to know who's
going to be liable and we'll make them pay. That's
what's going to come down to.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
On a personal note, James, if I may, sure, you know,
understandable people are you know, the feelings and their anxiety
is it, you know at peak levels. I was out
the other day in the park and busted out my
pack of Winston's and lit up a cigarette and these
and these people driving by kind of gave me a
(35:26):
mean look like, hey, what's up with you with that?
With that cigarette?
Speaker 3 (35:30):
What are you gonna doot about that pack of Winston's
like six or seven years ago? He's still got.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
No But I was just out there smoking that cigarette.
They were looking at me like, hey, where are you
gonna put that cigarette when you're done with it? And
they'll give me kind of mean looking. I was emotionally distressed.
Can I hold them liable?
Speaker 3 (35:47):
No?
Speaker 2 (35:48):
No, So you're just gonna tell me people can judge
me for for smoking my cigarettes out around town.
Speaker 6 (35:53):
Now, yeah, right now, this time of the year.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
Yeah, in l A.
Speaker 6 (35:56):
Yeah, you're gonna judge smoking a cigarette?
Speaker 3 (36:00):
All right? What if my car exploded? How do I
What do I do there, sweet James?
Speaker 6 (36:03):
Because if it was caused the fire or or first responders,
Yeah you have it, Yeah, you would have a plaim
against your firs. Get it, get it, get it to
repair it and replaced it. I make sure Petrus all right?
Speaker 3 (36:16):
Copy that. Well, James, you're a wonderful person, a shining
beacon in this crazy time. There is no doubt about it.
LA needs help and the services that you provide. And
right now, what's going on? Is uh is very essential.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
So we appreciate that it is.
Speaker 6 (36:35):
And you know what, we got seed a sense of normalcy,
and you guys given us a great great sports talk
radio is keeping the same.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
Well you heard James say it, eight hundred and nine million,
putting people up, making sure they're taken care of, get
things squared away. You call sweet James and uh, let
them know what you need and they'll be there for you.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
That's it, all right, catch the wind, eat James at
eight hundred and nine million. That's eight hundred nine million,
or sweet James dot com, the dense beard of justice.
Never a better time to have that number. There, he goes,
Probably it's smoking too. I picked a hell of a
(37:17):
week to quit smoking. I picked a hell of a
week to quit. Zanda, Well, it's been quite a day
thus far. We've already had all three guests bing bang
both James's and then boom David Vasse or Mi Sisaki sweepstakes.
(37:38):
We're gonna have to carry it ourselves from here on out.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
Matt, No, not possible. You know what else we're gonna
be carrying.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
We don't have Vic to come on and do a
haiku for us.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
We're gonna be carrying supplies tomorrow three to six pm
using our muscles. Move cases of soda and personal hygiene
products around, make sure that people are getting what they need.
Giant bags of dog.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Food choreographed stop the yard like dancing.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
That's right, lift the spirits all of the dream center.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
Well, I have a top story of the day. Talk
some baseball, some college football action, a local name in
the news again and alive. There's plenty to discuss.
