Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, Jerry, good morning, good morning, good morning. What's going on?

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I went on my first thirty second date?

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Thirty second?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Well, I met her on Tinder and then we were
going to meet at a restaurant. And then she walked
into the restaurant, looked at me and said no.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
And then.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Oh, she recognized you from the Tinder profile. So you
must not look that different from your Tinder profile.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
No, my all my photos are really are really recent.
I try to I try to keep it. I try
to keep it fresh.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Is this your first Tinder date?

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (00:38):
No, I mean I've been another Tinder date, but it
had been a while.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Wonder what you were doing? Were you like in a
couple your tonails at the bar?

Speaker 5 (00:49):
Maybe it wasn't what you looked like.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
I'm like, I'm like, did you not like my outfit was?
I didn't start eating, so it's not like I had
food in my teeth.

Speaker 6 (00:56):
Were you wearing some sort of sports memorabilia like, you know,
like some people are die hard about their team, and
if you were wearing like a rival jersey, she might
be like nope, or just a jersey yeah or ah.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yeah, or.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Jeans I was wearing like a nice turtle mac Oh,
maybe that was it with no turtle neck, no leaves,
oh man sandals.

Speaker 6 (01:18):
No, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 7 (01:19):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
You got a real life swipe left real life in person.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
She just go like nope and no explanation, Like so
it sounds like it's faster than thirty seconds. Actually, if
she walks in, sees you and says no and then leaves,
that's not even thirty seconds. That was five seconds. But
did she like I.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Would have thought she would have at least had a
drink with me. But no, nothing, nothing, you know.

Speaker 7 (01:45):
I saw this interview with a guy the other day
and I don't know the guy. I see him all
over Instagram and I follow him and I don't know
his name, but he's awesome. He's got a podcast. You
always talk about how much money he makes on the podcast.
Sounds like a great He makes like thirty million. He goes,
there's a reason I tell people how much I make
And he has this explanation for it. But he was
talking about it because I'm after, you know, and he said,
I don't think he's a douche.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
I think he's really really smart.

Speaker 7 (02:06):
But he talks about people nowadays, don't go out and
do stuff. They rely strictly on that. We're raising a
generation of men, he says. He specifically said men that
don't go out, that don't just expect everything to happen
online and live these lives online.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
So and and sometimes the women too.

Speaker 7 (02:24):
So when you do go out, there's an awkwardness and
you don't know how to interact with people.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
I believe that's probably right.

Speaker 7 (02:29):
And maybe you walked out, maybe she walked out and
you had your shirt tucked into tight or maybe you
look down at her, you know, there's no eye contact.
Maybe you look down and go, oh, hi, yeah, I'm Jerry,
and she's like, I don't think so someone walked out.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Man, You know there's something like that.

Speaker 7 (02:45):
But I mean, you sound like you have a good
personality and that you can handle yourself in public, right.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
I like to think that I do. I did pretty
well at friends parties and gathering. Uh yeah, I don't
spend all my time at home. So this was definitely
uh unexpected.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Did you message her as at all? It is like
a follow up like, well that was quick? Are you
like you okay? You sound Jerry? There had to be something.
But I feel like we have like a whole phone
thing for Jerry. Now, like who's had the shortest date
and why Jerry, nobody's going to be thirty seconds, are they? Well, yeah, people,

(03:29):
someone doesn't show up. I guess that's I guess that's true.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Now would definitely be this.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Well, Jerry, thanks for calling in.

Speaker 7 (03:36):
Man tried try bumble, Okay, I'll back try Plenty of Fish.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
That one's a big topic on our show. Yeah, there's
an app for that. I don't know. I heard. I
heard people. We brought it up one time and it's
still we still get text messages on it.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Especially the same thing as like Facebook dating at this point,
Plenty of Fish.

Speaker 7 (03:54):
Well, thanks for calling in, though, Good luck to you.
Thanks for telling that story.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I love it.

Speaker 7 (03:58):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Seven nine seven four seven.

Speaker 7 (04:01):
Yeah, we can do like Date's gone wrong, tender Date's
gone wrong, and a bat dating abs gone wrong eight
seven seven ninety three seven four seven.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
It's John, Jay and Rich. So we're talking to Jerry.

Speaker 7 (04:14):
He went on what he calls the shortest tender date
in the history of tender thirty seconds.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
He walked in. She said, no, I don't think so.
You're not my type.

Speaker 7 (04:21):
So we wanted to hear about bad dates, something that
went wrong, one thing that went wrong, or something that
happened eight seven seven nine three seven four seven. Good morning, Bernadette.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Hi, good morning.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
What happened to you on a date? So?

Speaker 8 (04:35):
I had gone out with this guy a couple of
times and lur on our third date and my mom
called in the middle of the date and she was
babysitting my daughter, and so I said, hey, I got
to take this call real quick. And I picked up
the phone, and you know, my mom's like, is everything
going okay?

Speaker 7 (04:53):
Whatever?

Speaker 8 (04:53):
Whatever, And then he grabbed the phone out of my
hand and then put it is here and said, hey, mom, this.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Is so and so and how's it going and what
are you guys doing, and just having like this random
conversation with my mom and calling her mom. And I
just was like, no, I.

Speaker 7 (05:14):
Could see his intent. It sounds kind of cute. It
was kind of cute, but he's not that in yet.
I could see what he was doing, and.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
He already wasn't feeling us, because if she was.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
She'd be like, oh my god, it's like crazy, Like
our family is really weird. When it comes to like
introducing people to the family. There's like a way about
it really, and so that just like threw me out.
I was like, no, we don't force ourselves in. You
get let in.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
That's my mom. That's like your mom.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
You said, this is your third third date with the guy. Yeah,
and now had you been intimate with him before we had?

Speaker 7 (05:49):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Oh see, so I could see wy he would feel
comfortable enough to pick up.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
The phone like I better marry your daughter. Now he's like, yeah,
I put up the things we did about better get married.

Speaker 7 (05:58):
That's that's why that you slept with him? But how
dare you talk to my mom on the phone.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
No, I feel that she didn't let him in.

Speaker 9 (06:07):
Weird this.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Well, that's good. I'm glad you shared. Bernadette, Thanks for.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Listening, No problem.

Speaker 6 (06:24):
That reminds me so much of something that happened to
me when I was in college. There was this guy
that he I had met him. He was like on
a visit to our school, and so I was like, okay,
like whatever. We texted and then a month later he
came back to go on his official visit and we
were at my apartment and he was like on FaceTime
with his mom and I was just like laying there
and I was like, okay, this is kind of weird
in general, like I don't really like you in my

(06:46):
space anyway. I wasn't vibing with him, and he turned
the phone around and made me talk on the phone
with his mom. His mom knew everything about me, knew
what I was going to school.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
I was like, this is oh, that's cute.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
No like him.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
It was in your house.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
He was in your house yeah, and I yeah.

Speaker 6 (07:02):
And then it actually fell on like a Halloween weekend
and we were all going out and he got super
sick and I was like, well, I'll go get you
like a gatorad and suit, but like I'm going out, did.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
You also get intimate with him?

Speaker 9 (07:13):
No?

Speaker 10 (07:14):
Okay, but it's the same because both of them said
they weren't really into that, but it totally affected the
way that.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Yeah, otherwise, that kind of awesome. He was talking to
his mom about you. That'd be awesome.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Hey Wendy, good morning.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
So what happened to you on a date?

Speaker 5 (07:29):
I got set up on a blind date and this
guy was.

Speaker 9 (07:31):
Like, I had a lot of money, his dad was
a judge.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
I felt very intimidated, like this is way out of
my league, and so we go out. We have go
to a bar, have one drink and it comes back
with like pint size jack and cokes like they were
half jack half coke.

Speaker 7 (07:49):
We have.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Hees back and gets another one. We go next door
to this fancy dinner with like six or eight other people.
At the end, everybody's like, who's going to pay the bill?
Everybody's fighting. They want to pay the bill. They want
to be a big shot. And I'm like, oh my god,
I am so out of my league. I can't do this. Okay,
So we just leave the restaurant and he walks me

(08:13):
to the car, opens the door, and I'm like, okay,
so nice. He's a gentleman. Puts me in the car,
closes the door, and I'm waiting for him to come
around to the driver's side and he doesn't come and
I look back and he was peeing on the tire.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
And you guys have been married for twenty three years now,
is that what you're going to say?

Speaker 5 (08:35):
Oh? No way. I realized at that moment I was
not out of my league and money does not buy
you class.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Did you drink the pipe jack and coke?

Speaker 5 (08:48):
I sipped on that. I think he may have had.

Speaker 10 (08:50):
Three tire he had to pay on the tire except
for I don't know if you know this, but they
have bathrooms in restaurants.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Wendy, thanks for sharing that start with us. Have a
great day.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
Thanks you too.

Speaker 7 (09:05):
Eight seven seven ninety seven four seven. I want to
hear about something bad that happened on a date. More
of your calls. Next with John Jay and Rich, John
Jay and Rich, we want to hear about something terrible.
It happened on a date. Carla, what happened to you?

Speaker 6 (09:25):
Hi?

Speaker 9 (09:25):
Good morning?

Speaker 7 (09:26):
Hi you guys? Hi?

Speaker 1 (09:26):
Good? What happened?

Speaker 9 (09:28):
All right? Well, so this is setting the stage. This
is during COVID. This is like what late twenty twenty
early twenty twenty one, where people are starting to get
you know, set up with everything. I had been talking
to a guy on a dating app, and you know,
he's pretty cute and all that, and I walk in
the first thing I see when he walks in to
the bar that we're meeting at, he's got that gross

(09:49):
COVID beard, you know what I'm talking about, Like scraggly,
it's not moisturized. And I'm not a purpose to begin with.
So that just gave me the nicks.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
That's just a stayed inside for too long with zero.

Speaker 9 (10:01):
Yeah, And but that wasn't the worst of it. Then,
you know, he was clearly nervous. But his his laugh
was the Mickey Mouse laugh. It was, you know, he
he'd like Disney person. I'm like a huge Disney person.

(10:24):
So that like ruined it. That killed it for me.
And and then the final straw was so we were
we were sitting at the bar, and he could tell
I was, you know, a little uncofortable, litt nervous because
of everything that's going on. But he like completely misread
the cues and was like, oh my gosh, she looks
so stressed. Would you like to have a massage? And
I was like, you know, I just outright told him

(10:45):
we're at a bar, Dude, like, that's not this is
not a place where I want a massage. And he's like, well,
you know, why don't why don't ask the bartender. I'm
sure it's okay. And so he, you know, turns to
the bartender and asked the question. And I gotta say this,
I can give the bartender credit because as this guy
was asking the bartender the question, I like lean back

(11:07):
in my barstool as far back as I can, so
then I'm out of the peripheral vision of the guy
I'm on a date with, and the guy asked the question.
The bartender immediately looks at me for a split second.
He've me shaking my head being like no, absolutely not,
looks back at the guy and was like, nah, dude,
that's weird.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
Oh we got your back, he got my back.

Speaker 9 (11:26):
He got my back.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
So yeah, right, so yep, that was all of that data.

Speaker 9 (11:36):
I was like, absolutely not. This will We're not doing
this again.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
We just call this segment. Guys are weird.

Speaker 9 (11:42):
They really are.

Speaker 7 (11:43):
They really are.

Speaker 9 (11:43):
Don't get me wrong. I'm happily married now and my
husband's amazing, but you know, he's got a couple of
weird things, and I'm like, why why?

Speaker 7 (11:51):
All right, Carla, thanks for sharing that story with us.
All right, thank you, missy.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Good morning. What happened to you on a date?

Speaker 6 (11:57):
Oh?

Speaker 11 (11:58):
Yeah, similar?

Speaker 7 (11:59):
So.

Speaker 11 (11:59):
I I was out with this guy.

Speaker 8 (12:01):
It was our first date.

Speaker 11 (12:02):
Won't say his name because he's pretty well known. And
we were at this nice little Italian restaurant and we
were having dinner and I had gotten up to go
use the lady's room and while I was in the bathroom.
One of my friends called my cell phone, and I
was supposed to go to a party later that night,
and he called and was like, hey, can you.

Speaker 9 (12:19):
Give me a ride?

Speaker 11 (12:20):
I said, yeah, sure, when I was down, I'll pick
you up either at this time.

Speaker 5 (12:24):
So I walked out of the bathroom.

Speaker 11 (12:25):
I go and I sit down back at the table.
But the guy that I was with wasn't at the table,
and I'm looking around this restaurant, smaller Italian restaurant, and
I see him over like hunt at this table talking
to these guys. I can only describe it as like
looks like straight out of a mob boss movie. And
they're all looking at me and talking. And then he
comes over and he sits down and he reaches across

(12:46):
and he kind of aggressively grabbed my hand and he said,
don't ever do that again. And I said, do what
he said, don't ever take a call from another guy
when you're on a date with me. And I was like,
oh my gosh, how the heck did you know he's
on the phone with another guy. Was in the bathroom
as a lady's room anyway, So shortly after we wrap
up dinner, we walk out to my car. I put

(13:06):
my purse on the seat and I turn around and
he grabs me to kiss me. I pushed him back.
I was like, what are you doing? And he said,
I bought you dinner. I reached in, I grabbed the
wallet out of my purse. I pulled it twenty out.
I want it up. I throw it at him. I'm like, well,
now you didn't. I get in the car and I
drive away.

Speaker 8 (13:25):
Later.

Speaker 11 (13:25):
This guy was married, he had kids. What scared the
call and asked for another date.

Speaker 6 (13:31):
I'm like, dying to know who this guy is.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Well, Missy, I don't want to put my business out
on the radio like that ever again. And wasn't that
Z good? Big ZD was delicious? Am I wrong? Am
I wrong? You did?

Speaker 11 (13:44):
I mean, you're You're in the right being, You're we're
talking Italians, we're.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
Talking, you know, Missy.

Speaker 7 (13:54):
When you said he's well known, can you like what
what line of work? Like?

Speaker 1 (13:58):
How is he a news anchor?

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Or?

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Is he an athlete? Is he how would we know him?

Speaker 11 (14:02):
No, let's just say I had a real fascination with
the Italian mafia in my twenties. So he's his family
is one of the original crime families.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Yeah, I was a bad boy everybody, but no.

Speaker 11 (14:15):
Yeah, I was really into that and then I married
a nice, nice guy.

Speaker 9 (14:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (14:21):
No, if I said his name, he is. He's one
of the family. Is one of the original crime families York.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
No, no, don't say his name please. I thought I
thought you meant I thought.

Speaker 7 (14:29):
You meant public eye, like a celebrity, like as far
as an athlete or something like that.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
When you say, I think in his mind he was no, And.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
It doesn't matter.

Speaker 7 (14:37):
I don't want you to say his name because, uh,
I don't want them to kill rich Okay.

Speaker 11 (14:43):
I gotcha.

Speaker 10 (14:44):
Okay, keep it to myself.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Thanks for calling in, Missy. Thank you so much for usening.

Speaker 7 (14:50):
Do you have any other ones to choose a call
eight seven seven nine three seven four seven or a
