Speaker 1 (00:00):
So if you missed War the Roses, boy, we got
We're doing this. Man, we are so into technology on
the show. If you go to our Instagram, if you
go to John Jay and Rich on Instagram and you
type in roses on our most recent post man, we
will send you the War of the Roses link to
the podcast right now, how do we do it? My goodness?
(00:21):
All right? So this Wicked movie is coming out tonight,
Wicked for Good. I tried to watch it the first
one and I couldn't get through it. It was not it
was just.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Just surprising to me because you love me.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
I love musical love I am.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
I think if you got past the first fifteen minutes you.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Would be so in okay and so, but I agree
with you, and I gotta get past it, just like
the beast in me.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
The first episode of things is kind of slow, but
now it's like whoa Right? So anyway, So Wicked for
Good hits theaters tonight at midnight. It comes out. So
if you haven't already caught an early screening, I think
a lot of people did. I did some research and
these are five key scenes in the Wizard of Oz
that you want to revisit not spoiling anything. So since
(01:04):
Kylin Payton, you guys saw it already, let me go
over those five Wizard of Oz scenes. I'm excited about.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
This because I think I know let me, I know
exactly which ones you're about to say.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Dorothy's arrival in Oz in munchkin Land, her house, kills
the Wicked Witch of the East, and she meets Glinda
and the Wicked Witch of the West. Absolutely really so
it's good, real funny is I'm getting goosebumps.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Visit because you get a lot of context there.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
When the Wicked Witch attacks the Scarecrow on the Yellow
Big Road and throws fireballs at him. Very important to
know that scene.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Oh, looks like disagreeing, feel like no, I wouldn't read
you that. I don't think that applies.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
That's interesting. I wonder if maybe there's something that you
guys didn't get.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
We were locked in the moment when the Wizard tells Dorothy,
the Scarecrow, the tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion that
they need to kill the Wicked Witch and bring back
her broomstick yep. Dorothy accidentally kills the Wicked Witch when
she throws a bucket of water on the Scarecrow and
it gets on the Wicked Witch and melts her.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
They melting.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah, I mean, maybe review it, but I think I
think this movie, Wicked for Good, has its own interpretation
of that.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Well, this is what it's saying, say, revisit it before
you see it.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
The hell is there a nod to it in there?
Speaker 2 (02:23):
It's not even a nod, It's like it's happening.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
When the Wizard leaves Oz in a hot air balloon
with out Dorothy. Yes, those are very important scenes. They
say to rewatch before you go watch these wicked movies.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Have you watched John Jay? Have you watched The Wizard
of Oz like all the way through?
Speaker 1 (02:40):
When I was a kid, I was terrified of that
movie and I would leave and come back, and I
remember the very end of the Witch terrified me more
than any other monster in the history of the world.
And still to this day when I see the lady
on video clips of Mister Rogers without her makeup, I
get scared of her.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
So you haven't, like, even as an adult like set dad,
to watch it all the way through. Never That's probably
why you've got a little Wicked thing because you're probably
still traumatized from the Witch from the first What actually
would be it, because I think it's like, I don't
know of I've probably seen that movie more than any
other movie in my whole life. Well, yeah, because if
you think about it, they used to show it every
Thanksgiving along with Willie Walka, another one you never watched,
(03:18):
and that all me and all the cousins, we would
all be in the basement of my aunt's house and
watch it every single year, all the way through while
they were making dinner. So even Thanksgiving reminds me of
the Wizard of Oz for whatever reason.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Yeah, I mean, even just this conversation makes me want
to see the movie again.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
I know, the Wicked movie or Wizard of Oz.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Wicked for Good, a new one.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
And I hear the one at the in Vegas what
they're doing at the fear about an hour. It's edited,
but they'd say it's not house good.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
So expensive, like real three hundred bucks expensive.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Earlier this morning, someone called in and said we should
make a drunk dial of Kyle's video. It was a
video that her husband caught of Kylie yelling in a
fun way to her daughter Addie and Noah made it
a drunk dial. So here it is, Kay Worry Worry show.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Weird You're.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
About Kyle, Mom's drunk again.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Robot functioning Kyle, real quick.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
We talked about this yesterday, the number one TV show
on Apple. Now we've talked about The Beast to Me,
which is number one on Netflix, number showing Apple is
or one hundred percent Rotten Tomatoes is plurbrius. Then Kyle,
you started watching it. I did, how far are you?
Speaker 2 (05:11):
I think I finished? I don't know. I think I've
done with whatever they've put out.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
I think there's three.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Oh, then maybe not. I don't know. I no episode
started afterwards, so I'm guessing maybe I got through there.
I don't think I got through all there.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
I don't know if it's for me, it's weird, it's
very weird.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
I don't know if it was three episodes or if
I just watched.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Well, there are no more like there's right now. They're
dropping weekly, so that's why you can't go more than that.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Yeah, but I mean it's like she's gotten as far
as to go and she still doesn't know if she
likes it.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
I'm the same I got to the.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Point where she is talking to whoever is doing the
thing they're doing through the TV.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Oh, that's first episode.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Okay, then I guess I just watched the first episode.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
That's the first episode. Yeah, I know.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
It's weird. It's like literally everyone start like there they
get some message from space and they don't know what
it is, and so they're investigating. And then there's this
count down and these people who are scientists, do you think,
and they're trying to figure things out. They're studying something
on mice and one gets bit and then all of
a sudden, everyone starts. It's like people are like mass seizing,
(06:14):
like they're having me seizures, and then they turn into
not really zombies, but it's like zombies.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Everybody in the world is one person. They talk although
like I might walk out and see someone in the hallway,
but they're gonna say the same thing you're going to say, Rich.
They're all one person, except for eleven people didn't get
affected in the whole world. So episode two actually has
got me kind of intrigued right now because it's interesting
how they're trying to get this one woman, Carol to
(06:38):
join them. I don't know, it's really weird. Is she
one of the eleven that did eleven? And right, No,
I'm by the point right now where she wants to
meet the other eleven and there's only five in the
United States to speak English, so they're trying to connect
her with the other five. I mean, it's really weird, right,
it's weird, but it's one hundred percent of ro on tomatoes,
which I've never really seen before
