Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
All right. He wrote the New York Times bestseller Out
of the Blue and the Giants. He's connected, he knows him.
Fox Sports NFL reporter Peter Schrager now joining us live.
All right, let's talk about this. You have the Giants
moving up to number four h JJ McCarthy. I that
seems like it feels so overdrafted. What do you do

(00:47):
with Daniel Jones? They need pieces, they need receivers. I
don't like teams like a New England Carolina Giants that
need seven players to give up draft capital. But that
signals something. Why would they do that?

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Look, my mock draft's a little different than others. It's
not what I would do. It's what I'm hearing around
the league. And I know that the Giants have done
all the work and all the research on all of
these quarterbacks extensive on the top guys. If they weren't
in the market for a quarterback, they wouldn't be wasting
their time traveling all across the country to meet and
take them out to dinner. The night before Easter, the
Giants flew out to ann Arbor and they took out

(01:25):
JJ McCarthy at Ruth Chris. There they had a great meeting.
He has since met with them again. In this case,
Daniel Jones was not drafted by Joe Shane was not
drafted by Brian Dable. He was given eighty million dollars
by those guys, But that contract is also written in
such a way where they can get out of it
after two years. I was aggressive on this one. I've

(01:45):
got the Giants trading up two spots from six to
four to get JJ McCarthy. And one of the reasons
is you've got Minnesota, Denver, Vegas three teams that are eleven, twelve, thirteen.
If the Giants are the suitors, the Cardinals can jump
back two spots and still get one of those top
wide receivers, whether it be Harrison a Doonsay or Malik

(02:08):
Neighbors out of LSU.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
If you go all the way back to eleven.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
No matter what Minnesota offers you, you're not getting one
of those guys. I wouldn't be shocked at all if
Arizona States put it four and just selects Marvin Harrison
Junior and says, we're good. This is our Larry Fitzgerald
for the next fifteen years. But their GM is quite
a quite Let's just say Manti asin Ford is never
scared to make a trade, and he grew up in

(02:33):
the New England situation there where they always like to
trade back and see if they can collect picks. They
can collect picks and still get one of the top
wide receivers. JJ McCarthy could be a giant.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
So everybody's got the Vikings going moving up. Your mock
draft is different. Again, you say it's based on what
you're hearing. I think I've called the Vikings a furnished
apartment for a quarterback. They got everything. You don't even
have to for a year. So tell us what you
hear about the Vikings, because this is fascinating.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
This might be one of the best situations ever for
a rookie quarterback to go in. Yeah, you think about
Addison and Jefferson at receiver, really good offensive line and
Kevin O'Connell, who is a quarterback guru and a play caller.
The issue for me is, even if you give up
the eleven the twenty three future first round picks, and

(03:27):
I think the Vikings have more picks than anybody in
like the entire draft, even if you give all that up,
if you're moving up to two to three, to four
to five, those guys are gonna want your first round pick.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
And back at eleven, you.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Might miss out on some key players, so you might
miss out on Neighbors or a Doneza or Joe Alt.
But if you move back to US a couple spots,
whether it be with the Giants or be with you know,
whoever else wants to trade up and offer stuff, you
could still get one of those guys. So I think
Minnesota has made the market aware that they are in

(04:01):
the business of potentially moving up to get one of
these guys. And whether that's with the four pick Arizona,
the five pick the Chargers, or the seven pick with
the Titans, that would probably be for McCarthy or May.
But you bet you better not have someone in front
of you offer something similar because those teams might want

(04:22):
to deal with those teams as well.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
It's almost like.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
They're very vulnerable where they're at right now because they've
made it clear that quarterback is of interest to them.
And at twenty three, you're not getting any of those
top four guys. And unless you package eleven twenty three
and another first rounder and maybe even another first rounder,
those teams up at the top four and five, they
might not even want to make a deal with you.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yeah, you have bow Nicks at twenty three, which is
I think. When I hear second round on bow Nicks,
I think, And so much of this is crucial shregs.
If you take out Andrew Luck, maybe a Caleb Williams,
maybe a John Elway, largely where you land matters will
determine a lot of your success. I mean, c J.
Stroud got the right coach, right coordinator, He's got a

(05:07):
great Pro Bowl left tackle, the right workable division, and
I love c J. Stroud, but a lot of things
fell into place. My takeaway is bone Nicks sitting for
a year with sixty one college starts to Minnesota left
tackle back receivers like I don't know Kevin O'Connell to
me when I talk to guys in the league. They're like,
this guy's McVeigh, but it's called Tall McVeigh, So I

(05:30):
I don't know, I think bone. Okay, so I want
to go to this He's awesome. Yeah, yeah, go ahead, yeah,
just real quick.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
He's awesome and is like he's a quarterback and NFL quarterback.
So there is no better place to go than a
guy who's gonna know all the stuff inside and out.
And you know, I think you let Kirk Cousins walk
out of that building. And as much as you and
I love Darnold, you better get one of these guys.
And if you don't, I think you better feel comfortable

(05:57):
with Nixon Pennox at twenty three.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Okay, Jade and Daniels. I'm told that was a week ago.
Commanders heavy lean to Jaden Daniels, what say you? What
are you hearing?

Speaker 4 (06:08):
I think that's wise. Now this is cool. Last night
they had Michael Pennix, Jaden Daniels, Drake May, JJ McCarthy
all together and at Top Golf in d c. They
all played together and all the Washington brass was with them,
but all the quarterbacks outside of Caleb, the next five

(06:29):
guys or four guys. They were all there interacting everything
that I hear, it seems like two Washington goes Jaden Daniels.
And what's cool about Washington is it's not just your
typical head coach GM offensive quarter and making this pick.
Like Bob Myers, who's the old GM of the Warriors,
who I see on ESPN talking basketball, has had a

(06:50):
lot of say not only in how they do their draft,
but just you know, coaching hiring and GM hiring. And
then one of the cool hires is like Dave Gardy,
who's a name who's not not a household name anywhere
outside of the league office, but Dave Guardy's been with
the league for multiple decades and is one of the
most trusted guys in the league office. Basically runs their
entire salary cap and waiver wire system and as a

(07:12):
mentor to everybody at the league. Dave Guardy was hired
by the Washington Commanders this week and has a role
with them. Different voices who have different backgrounds are going
to be involved in this decision, whether you like that
or not. I think it's going to be a collected decision.
I think Jayden Daniels, as we're eight days out, I
think he is the pick.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
So I theorized earlier Belichick was getting beat up today
on a story that was released that he was not
even in the top three in Atlanta, and then two
hours later a story is released that Bill's interested in
the Eagles, Cowboys, Giants. And my take was somebody on
Bill's side leaked it to diffuse getting beat up all
day on shows and get you know, the narrative was
Bill's not even a candidate, and now all of a sudden,

(07:50):
I see still Bill still wants to be a candidate.
Sometimes a year away. You know, the NFL sort of
is very forgiving. You know, it's amazing what happened happens
after a couple of years. Do you think he'll ever
get a head coaching offer again.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
I think he's gonna get interviews. And I think when
you hear that, you know Dallas obviously has a long
relationship with him, with Steven and Jerry Jones. And then
when you hear Philadelphia in the article that I think
Seth and Dan van Nada or Don van Nada wrote,
I think they detailed that there was a conversation with
Howie Roseman. It wasn't for the job, but of just
checking in even that enough in the Philly market is

(08:27):
enough to like have this hovering above the team this season.
The three teams that were mentioned were Giants, Eagles, and
of course Dallas. All three of those teams are really
interesting with coaches in big years coming up, so.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
I think I'll get interviews.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
But I thought the article was very well written and
as much as of a bizarre situation it is that
Belichick's not coaching. I think the stuff with the documentary
and with the way their offseason spending went and now
this like Robert Krafts had an interesting offseason two and
the way that the Patriots fans are looking at him.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Finally, we talked about, you know, Kevin O'Connell staying put
and getting bow Nicks. Later. I am fascinated, partly because
he's a friend and worked here with Sean Payton and Denver.
So you got Herbert's now got Harball. That's gonna work.
Andy Reid and Mahalmes watch out. And then you got
you know, you got the Raiders and you got the Broncos.

(09:24):
Very close draft picks in division. What is your best hunch?
What do you hear on Sean Payton and what he's
gonna do because I will say this, he knows this.
The first thing he did in Denver, that old line
was significantly better. Last year PFF had it like seventh.
So we solved that. Now he's just gonna solve the
piece at quarterback. I don't see Sean as a patient

(09:46):
guy that's gonna wait until next year. What say you
on that? What are you hearing?

Speaker 4 (09:51):
I don't think they have the draft ammo to move
up though, from twelve to the top four. So as
much as Sean might like those top four guys, he's
got to really look at Pennox, He's got a look
at Nick's. I think he's really got to look at Rattler,
Spencer Rattler, who is probably a Day two guy out
of South Carolina, but he's that next group. And then
I would look at what veterans they could still potentially acquire.

(10:13):
You know, it is Ryan Tannehill a guy that you
bring in. There is Zach Wilson, a guy that you
trade for. There has to be other options. I think
it's gonna be really hard for Sean to move up
from twelve to four. And it's not just Sean, it's
George Peyton as well the GM, but they're obviously interested.
Sean Payton in the quarterback position is he knows you

(10:33):
gotta have the right guy at the switch, and he
had Breeze for so many years. But he takes a
lot of pride. Hey, he says, we won with Teddy Bridgewater,
we won with James Winston, we won with Taysom Hill.
I think Sean is pretty confident that no matter who's
that quarterback, he could still compete with whoever they get
at that position.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Shrags full of information. Now you do seven round draft, right,
you do the whole thing. Right?

Speaker 5 (10:55):
I did.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
I used to do it, then I got tired and lazy,
and now I just kind I say I used to
do it, but I'm thinking I might want to do
it again. I've got some time in my hands in
the morning, so maybe I'll start cranking that out this week.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Look at man, Look at that work ethic. Jmack, that commitment.
Yeah you do. You have some time in the mornings.
I wouldn't clog that up. I'd keep that open if
I was you. That's just my opinion. Okay, just keep
it open, don't don't no reason. I'll tell you what
I love the area you live in. I'd stay out
there too, That's just my opinion. Anyway, Good Colin the best,

(11:26):
See you buddy. All right, Peter Scheger, there's a beautiful
neighborhood nor New York. No way I'm leaving that neighborhood beautiful.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Jmack with the News.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Turn on the news. This is the Herd Line.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
News trying to start some news here.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
What are you talking?

Speaker 5 (11:53):
I didn't know. I didn't think he liked New York.
I loved it.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Who says I didn't like New York?

Speaker 6 (11:57):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (11:57):
I think you're your Chicago guys.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Why Chicago goal is cleaner and doesn't smell like cannabis?

Speaker 5 (12:02):
What's wrong with cannabis? Where do you gotta get still?

Speaker 1 (12:05):
I gotta I gotta be clear eye to deliver the news.
Can't be a journalist out there high as a wake.

Speaker 5 (12:11):
Ego eyed listeners and watchers.

Speaker 6 (12:13):
Uh, we'll take something away.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
From that little list.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
Come on, by the way, what's the weather's Chicago today?

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Is it about freeze to a picture.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
It don't send me another one.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Gorgeous. Yeah, just stop doing gorgeous.

Speaker 5 (12:26):
Let's go to the NBA bummer.

Speaker 6 (12:28):
Zion Williamson is out for the playing game season on
the line against the Kings on Friday.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
It's a hamstring.

Speaker 6 (12:35):
According to WOJ, just disappointed. He'll be evaluating in the
coming weeks. So even if the Pels get by the Kings,
doesn't sound like Zion will be playing anytime soon.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
I don't know, man, this.

Speaker 6 (12:47):
Is just it's disheartening. I don't know what you say
at this point. He's always hurt.

Speaker 5 (12:51):
He had got in great shape, he lost a lot
of weight. Remembers skinny Zion. I was talking about it
months ago.

Speaker 6 (12:56):
He dropped a forty burger on the Laker's head, and
then the game and they blew it without him.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Well, I think not all players. I mean, Anthony Davis
had years and years of disappointment and then the last
year and a half has been great. So you can't
give up on Zion. He's too talented, he's too productive.

Speaker 6 (13:12):
But something's gonna It's gonna come to a head with
Brandon Ingram here, right, they gotta they gotta decide. Pooper
get off the pot. You're gonna extend him, or he's
just gonna say, you know, he's not in our pot.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
I was never I like brandon Ingram. I'm I'm just okay.
I would keep Zion. I think Zion is more physically daunting.
I think he sells more tickets even though he misses games.
I think Zion is such a unique physical player. I
would keep him around Brendon Ingram's fine.

Speaker 6 (13:41):
You want to guess the line Kings at the zionless Pelicans.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Well, seven points, Sacramento by seven on the road for
three and a half.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
I see one.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Oh, I would take Sacramento.

Speaker 6 (13:56):
Without Zion apparently, Uh well, I got a I gotta
do some more research here.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
This.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
This is a bit of a surprise to me that
you would keep me Zion over. I'm with you. I
thought it would be more than one. I would keep Yes,
of course, I would keep.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Saying, yeah, Zion is. I mean, there's never been a
time when I where I've watched Brandon Ingram and thought
he's unstoppable. I've thought he's hot, he's on a heater.
But Zion last night, Lakers had no answer.

Speaker 5 (14:19):
If you could make him your three or four.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
No, no, I thank you. I think he would be
a great three and a potential two potentially if the one,
like let's say your one's like a Luca or Yannis,
he's a two. That's a real good two.

Speaker 6 (14:32):
Your one is Zion and your two is Ingram.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
I think he's a better two because of his inability.
It's like Anthony Davis is the world's best two because
of his Offensively, he's hit and miss and the and
he can get banged up. But Anthony Davis as a
two is the best two in the NBA.

Speaker 5 (14:50):
Yeah, all right, here's the story you teased earlier.

Speaker 6 (14:52):
Also in the NBA Reptor Center, Johntay Porter has received
a lifetime ban from the NBA for violating the league's
gambling rules. Porter, who is the brother of Nugget star
Michael Porter Junior, allegedly bet on games, passed information to
a gambler and claimed illness to influence wagers.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
It's an ugly story.

Speaker 6 (15:17):
This came out right around the same time the Otani
stuff popped and everybody focused on Otani.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
There was no gambling stuff with Otani. It was his interpreter.
This is a real big story.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Yeah, this guy's do dumb things win dumb prizes. This
is just a really bad move. This is not you know, people,
oh my god, sports gambling. Everybody knows the rules. You
don't change it because Tim donneghey couldn't grow up and
control himself. This is an individual player that just made
really bad decisions. Nobody in the league thought this was right.

(15:47):
By the way, Rick Neuheisel went into a betting pool
when he was a college football coach. He got in
trouble for that. There's just certain things that are common
sense that you don't do. So this is not an
indictment of the league. It's not an indictment of gambling.
It's an indictment of a guy with really bad judgement.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
He made some bad now.

Speaker 6 (16:01):
Listen, he was a big time basketball prospect in high school,
had like back to back ACLS watches, his brother come
out of injuries.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
His brothers make it like thirty five million dollars a
year now.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
His brother's a very good player.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
Yeah, Porter was supposed to be a very good player.

Speaker 6 (16:14):
It didn't really pan out, so he went kind of
sideways with some of these decisions. He essentially gave a
known NBA better information who then the better put an
eighty thousand dollars parlay on Porter and ended up winning
one point one million dollars. They flagged it, and they're like,
what's going on here? Then they did the homework and

(16:35):
Porter made some bad decisions. Listen, we've seen NFL players
Calvin Ridley among others. I don't know if the teams
and leagues can do a better job of just telling
everybody don't gimble.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
Listen, you cannot do it. They're gonna catch you.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Somebody gets in a du gets a dui. Don't blame
the beer, blame the person. Don't blame the bagel because
you're ruggling to lose weight, or the tequila because you
got a dui, or the gambling company or the league
because you can't control yourself. We can't ban everything because
you're not a grown up.

Speaker 6 (17:10):
I know, but let's just remember these are twenty two
to twenty three year old kids.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
We need two years old. I know, but I wouldn't
do this at twenty two. Let's again, you wouldn't gamble
at twenty you lived in Vegas. If I played in
the NBA, I wouldn't gamble on the NBA. I'd be
smarter than that. I was in Vegas when I was young, I.

Speaker 6 (17:25):
Would agree, like, they just need to be explicit. They're
gonna catch you, okay, they have all the information, they're
gonna eventually get you.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
Don't. Don't.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
I do this for a living. I have never once
asked any of my sources ever, hey is this guy playing?
That would be to me inappropriate. I've asked about a
draft prospect. I've asked about a theory on why you
do this or that. But because I have a deal
with DraftKings, I never ask anybody, hey is this guy playing.

(17:56):
I never do that. That's just inappropriate. I don't know
if it's illegal, it's in approp So you gotta be
smarter than that, right, you can't be doing things like that.
I mean, you're an NBA player, you know that's just
a not smart done.

Speaker 6 (18:08):
I don't know if that if he can still go
play internationally or I'm sure he can't.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
I'm sure he's gonna have options.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
There's a lot of money globally for basketball. You can
make a lot of money in a lot of places.
You go to Italy, you go to anywhere.

Speaker 6 (18:21):
Final story is Marvin Harrison Junior has been seen by
many as the top receiver in the draft. We've heard
some stuff about neighbors maybe overtaking him. Some have ranked
Neighbors a Douneesa ahead of him, which to me is crazy.

Speaker 5 (18:33):
Uh CJ. Straft has chimed in, he does not understand
some of this stuff.

Speaker 7 (18:37):
Put on the tape. He's done it from really his
freshman year. It's true fresh airs. So now when you
talk about I think I heard I read something like
he's nflready, but other guys are have more potential. That
makes no sense, Like what like if you're nflready, how
is that not potential? You know? Like you want longevity.
You want somebody who's been doing it, you know, And

(18:59):
for him, that's that's what he sleeps, eats and who
he breathes. Man, whoever is and who's up there? Man,
be smart, let me dumb. I don't think too hard.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Yeah, he's a great player.

Speaker 6 (19:11):
I don't think there's so we talked about neighbors, right,
who was catching passes from Jayden Daniels, who's gonna go
top five a dune say, catching from Pennix who's the
first round pick, by the way, Who is Marvin Harrison
catching passes from this past season.

Speaker 5 (19:24):
You remember.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Not off top mind?

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Yeah, you know, you know where he transferred to Syracuse.

Speaker 6 (19:29):
Okay, he's out at Ohio State, like Marvin Harrison at
by far the weakest quarterback go back two years, and
he's catching passes from Stroud unstoppable all season and then
in the playoff game, remember where he was dominating the
game well.

Speaker 5 (19:43):
Before we got knocked out with the concussion.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
I think.

Speaker 5 (19:47):
You can't overthink it.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
You know, I should do a mock draft tomorrow. I
should do a mock draft because there's a lot of
different ways to do a mock draft. There is what
you're hearing, there is what you would do, and then
there's just prediction and you throw which one should we
do tomorrow?

Speaker 5 (20:03):
I think what you would do. I'm most interested in
what Colin Coward would do. Would you really take Jaman
Daniels over Drake By at two? At four?

Speaker 1 (20:11):
I'm gonna do tomorrow, and you should do no trades right,
just straight up, okay, just straight up top twelve picks.
What would I do?

Speaker 6 (20:22):
And if you pick Neighbors over Harrison, I'm probably gonna
have words.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
I think I'll tell you right now. I'd pay Caleb
number one and Harrison the first, and you.

Speaker 5 (20:31):
Can like neighbors in here doingday, but it's more of
an heir. The track record is there. Let's not freak out.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Three receivers I've seen in my life in college football,
Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss and Harrison, and I'm like, oh,
they'll be a star. Jamar Chase is just below that.
But that I saw and I thought, yeah, there's zero
chances are gonna fail. Zero chance. They may not be
twelve time Pro Bowlers, but Marvin Harrison is going to
succeed as a rookie in the NFL if he goes

(20:58):
anywhere but New England, because I don't have I don't
think they have a functional off even in New England,
he'd be their best player by far on offense.

Speaker 6 (21:05):
And then would you if you were in New England
consider I don't love the third quarterback off the board.
I want to take Harrison. Well, I don't even know
who their quarterback is projected.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
I think they're gonna get Drake May That's what I
and I think he's gonna play behind Jacoby Brissett for
a year until Thanksgiving, and then I would load up
because they loaded up last year on kickers and interior alignment.
I would go get wide receiver.

Speaker 6 (21:27):
Town They're going to be drafting back in the top
five next year. Okay, I don't see why you take
the third ball.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
The advantage to drafting third is not only the first round.
So I would get my quarterback. If I'm New England,
get your quarterback third, and then the perceiving rounds just
trade down five percent. You don't have to trade down
a lot. But if you like in the second round,
if I drop six spots, I could get a third
round pick, so I have two threes in the third round,
I could get it, and I can get his fourth

(21:55):
or a fifth. So get your quarterback if you could
get them. There may not be a Drake May if
you let's say you win five games and you end
up with a third pick. Next year's quarterback class. The
quarterbacks you don't want to move all that. You don't
want to move up. So if Drake May falls to you,
the best argument is probably take him and then move down,
like in the second round. At the very top of

(22:16):
the second round. I don't think there's a receiver. There's
a couple of defensive tackles. It's heavy defense in the
top of the second round, the bottom of the first,
it's a lot of edge guys, corners. Top of the second,
it's a lot of interior defensive lineman, edge guys. I
don't think that's where I would go. I would go receivers, second, third, fourth, fifth.
I would look to move down slightly accumulate picks. I

(22:37):
would draft at least two receivers.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
Harrison, Daniels or May. Now here's the other option. If
you can get someone, wou didn't you trade that third pick?
Trade back you need. We talked about this and we
saw the numbers.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
The Patriots have one of the lowest win totals projected
by Vegas. Now Vegas is not always correct, but there's
not a lot of talent. This could be a four
win team next year. Con Belichick. Remember, we don't know
the new coach is going to come in the locker room.
Like there's a lot of stuff up in the air
in New England.

Speaker 5 (23:07):
I don't know that I take a quarterback three. I
think I can't do it.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
I can't do any trades.

Speaker 6 (23:11):
I don't get I mean, and then it's like, you know,
everybody wants to trade back right outside of the Bears.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
I mean, I forgot it.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Is your show, No I will. I think it's the
Chargers want to trade back.

Speaker 6 (23:24):
Yeah, and then when you have three, four or five
all trading back, it's it gets.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
A little confusing.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
All right.

Speaker 1 (23:30):

Speaker 3 (24:14):
On the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get
your podcasts.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
All right, yesterday we did NBA Pressure Cooker with the West.
How much Pressure, High Medium, low is on your NBA
playoff team, including teams in the play in Jmac, you
ready for the Eastern Conference.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
Let's do it, all right.

Speaker 6 (24:36):
What level of pressure is on Trey Young in the Hawks?

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Very low? I mean there were rumors that were getting
rid of Trey Young at the trading deadline. They have
the worst record of any playing playoff team. They're gonna
do a little bit of a reorg in the off season,
so I think there's very very low pressure on Hawks. Okay,
What level of pressure is on Demarja Rozen and your
Chicago Bulls? Seen them live two or three t this year?

(25:00):
Very very low. Again, they had a losing record and
six of their last season seven seasons. It's not a
winning organization right now. They're a mile from the number
one seeded Celtics. I mean they're a competitive team. They
play hard with Billy Donovan, they're competitive. I think they
get the most out of what they are. But there's

(25:21):
no big pressure.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
All right, Let's get to the good teams.

Speaker 6 (25:22):
What level of pressure is on Jimmy Butler in the
Miami Heat Medium?

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Because Bam and Butler are an excellent duo and you
can't be a one and done team when you have
one of the top five or six duos in the NBA,
and Spolster is known for getting every single thing out
of his team. So and I think I think if
they even if they lost in the first round, but
they took somebody like Celtic six games, I think you'd

(25:46):
look at that and think that's about what they are.
So there's a little pressure because of Butler and Bam,
mostly on Butler to win a playoff series.

Speaker 5 (25:54):
Uh, what level of pressure's on Joel Embiid and s Sixers.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
I think it's high never won a second playoff series.
You know they were thirty one and eight when MB
play Maxi's become a star. So and you got the
guy I like Tobia Terris. They made a deal, they
got length. There's no reason this team can't win a
couple of playoffs series. We're gonna have to have the
second most cap space. By the way, this summer they

(26:18):
get interesting team going forward. They got a lot of
cap space. Certainly, we're level of pressures on.

Speaker 6 (26:23):
Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers low super young team.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
And again, if they face Milwaukee and take them six
or seven, I think they'll win. Is for the Indiana.

Speaker 5 (26:32):
Pacers, oh six or seven.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Oh. I think they're a matchup problem for Milwaukee, a
big matchup problem. They play very fast. I think they
also unlike they have a great bench. So again, they
can throw eight nine guys at you stay fresh, young, fresh,
deep bench, play some defense. But I think it's really love.
They're a year away from being interested.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
All right, we'll level of pressure is on Paulo Bancaro.
I think Orlando.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
I mean if we had none. First of all, they're
way ahead of schedule. Ben Caro didn't make like second
team All NBA or something. Pretty good player. Yeah, no,
Jalen suggs now is not a bust. I think they're
way ahead of schedule. I think they got some money
to spend. And the air thing is, you know what
they are. They can't shoot. I mean, they're one of

(27:19):
the teams out there that would spend big money on play.
So they they're young, they're ahead of schedule, they can't shoot.
So again, if they were competitive in the first round
and took somebody six, you'd be like, I can't wait
for next year. It's always been baby steps for young
teams in this league.

Speaker 6 (27:38):
Yeah, they faced the Cats well, What level of pressure's
on Donovan Mitchell in the cast?

Speaker 1 (27:41):
I think it's medium, Like this is kind of like
you're not You're not the Magic or the Pacers. You
gotta win. They're very Donovan Mitchell dependent. They don't win
when he doesn't play. I also think if Donovan mc mitchell,
he's gonna make some decisions here and you know, if
they get extinguished and he looks around and thinks, my
guys don't support at me. They're they're they're like, I

(28:03):
think they're more talented than the Knicks, But I feel
like I don't know what the Calves exactly are. I
feel like I know what the Knicks are and their limitations.
I think the Calves should be better than they are.

Speaker 6 (28:15):
I agree what level of pressure is on Dame Lillard
and the Janis lists for at least a game, but
I think it's high.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
I don't care if he's got a calf injury. Come on, now,
you made a coaching move. Jannis and Dame are a
top three duo. You have the oldest team in the league.
Bobby Portis is your kid. He's twenty nine, so you
don't have any number one picks because it pick swaps,
and you've got Dame and Drew Holliday, so you don't
have a lot of draft capital. You've got to win series.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
Here.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
You've got Brook Lopez, Jannis, Dame, Chris Middleton, Bobby Portis.
You got. I don't care if you Honis doesn't play
for a couple of games. You've got to beat Indiana.
Even if Jannis misses two games, you gotta beat Indiana.
There are a bunch of.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
Kids, all right. What level of pressures on Jalen Brunson
in my mix.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
Julius out injury? Low? Again, I think if they're competitive,
I think you have to feel great about the next
You got your star, you made a move with the deadline.
I think they like their team. They're just one really
good offensive player shy, and they're gonna go get that.
They got the coach they like, So it's low. I
think they've been a fun story. That story's gonna end
pretty quickly. But I don't think there's any pressure.

Speaker 6 (29:21):
And finally, what level of pressure is on ad Jason
Tatum and in the Boston see.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
The highest level of heat. I'm tired of hearing about
all NBA Tatum. This team could Argueblease statistically be the
best offense ever. Favorites to win the title. They won
the East by fourteen games ahead of the Eastern conferences
number two seed. They won sixty four games. Huge, huge pressure.

(29:50):
I am struggling to think of an NBA team that
had this mushed pressure ever going into the playoffs. Name
one name an NBA team that had more pressure than
the ball. Boston Celtics due this year. They if they
don't win series in five games, they gotta fly through
the East. This is embarrassing. Make sure you have to
win these series fast.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (30:10):
No, that that's a difficult one. I'll just say that.
Number Holiday just join the team.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
They gotta just join the team. Yeah, this season porzis
just join They they play eighty two games this season, you.

Speaker 5 (30:20):
Know, with two starters, brand new.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Like oh, when you're a veteran jew Holiday joining a team,
I'll give you thirty games to figure it out.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
I'm gonna start calling you the specialist. All you want
to do is blow teams up and just set the dynamite.

Speaker 6 (30:34):
Let no walk, It's over, Boston detonate called standards.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Gotta hit the standards. What if Boston, So we give
them the finals.

Speaker 6 (30:48):
Let them.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
They should just be get a free pass to the finals.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
But they go to the finals and they lose in
five to Denver, and Tatum shrinks a little.

Speaker 5 (30:58):
Well, they'll be underdog. There'll be underdogs to Denver. Right yep, yeah,
I think it's not a big deal.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Okay, no big deal.

Speaker 5 (31:07):
Getting to the finals is extremely hard.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
You ever heard Boston immediately? Okay, okay, here's another one
that bow Nick's story is interesting. Oh jeez, how about
this story.

Speaker 5 (31:16):
That click out of it.

Speaker 6 (31:18):
So another network did Quarterback Tears, and they have all
these quotes from folks, and so for bow Nicks, they
had this quote that multiple coaches who interviewed Nick said
his interviews felt scripted and rehearsed, but he shines when
he lets it loose and shows his personality.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
We had him on the here set for fifteen minutes.

Speaker 6 (31:39):
He was great, stacular, like he's a college kid and
sounds grown up in mature the.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Way, aren't you sports to don't your agents have you
rehearsed certain things? You don't want to get in trouble
and step in it. I thought that was the sort
what you do.

Speaker 6 (31:50):
I know you haven't had a job interview in a while.
But you remember when you had job interviews back in
the day. You had to like get ready and prepare
you want to get all the answers.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
I remember my first job in at a country western
station Spokane, Washington. Yeah, nailed it more, I mean, didn't
get the job.

Speaker 5 (32:08):
They're like, here's why, Ona Judd, I'm Colin Coward.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
I came in with a nickname country.

Speaker 5 (32:14):
Colin no Way, and you got denied.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
No, I didn't get the job. I wore a bolo
tie and came in out. I was like, listen, I
used to live in the San Intone. I didn't even
call it San Antonio. I said San and Tone. I'm
Country Colin.

Speaker 5 (32:28):
You were a hot shot young guy. You really thought
your stuff didn't stink.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
I did. I interviewed at a country station. I didn't
wear a bolo tie.

Speaker 5 (32:38):
Who are the big country stars in the sixties when
this happened? Oh so sorry, Wraylon Jennings Wheeling. Is that
the guy who wrote the Dukes of Hazard theme song?

Speaker 1 (32:45):
I don't know. I think Kenny Rogers was big for
a while. The Gambler, Yeah, yeah, Kenny Rogers, Whalon Jennings, Yeah,
I think, so what about to stand by your man?
Who sang that?

Speaker 5 (32:58):
Is that? Wanona Jutter? Judds I don't know, No, Dolly,
that's got to be Dolly Parton.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
Right, Dolly Parton? Joe Leans, Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 5 (33:08):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
Yeah, I think I don't know.

Speaker 5 (33:10):
My college, but my country music is very limited.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
I like it though. My wife likes it, so I
like it when I just don't listen to a lot,
but if it's on, my wife plays it, like if
we go out in the summer and we're on a
boat or something like that with friends. My wife, Yeah,
she likes kinning.

Speaker 5 (33:25):
I thought you'd be listening to yacht rock. You know
what that is?

Speaker 3 (33:28):
Right?

Speaker 1 (33:29):
No, yacht rock.

Speaker 5 (33:31):
That's like an actual station on Sirius. All right, it's
like kind of chill music.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
I'm not subscribing to that right now. Too much baseball talk,
the whole talk about all right, see you tomorrow.
