Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Back here on The Herd, Jason McIntyre in for Colin Cowherd.
We got a great guest coming up here shortly. We
got a couple of minutes. I want to riff briefly,
very briefly on a report that Dak Prescott is seeking
sixty mil a year from the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Listen.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
This comes from me in Rapaport, who is a trusted
media member over at NFL Network. So this isn't some
like random person trying to make a name for himself
and go viral. Sixty milis insanity, Okay. I like Dak Prescott.
I did float on this show. I would sooner move
off of Micah Parsons and CD Lamb and keep Dak
(01:05):
and rework things. There really is no right answer here
because Dallas keeps screwing up with Dak Prescott as we
saw with the Jaguars, pay your quarterback early before it
gets icy. Dallas has continually messed things up with Dak
Prescott and now they're up against it if they want
to move on. I believe the dead cap number is
(01:26):
forty mil. Gonna be tough to win and build a
title contender with the dead cap hit. So you got
to keep Dak. But now he's got you kinda bent
over a barrel and you gotta pay him sixty mill
a year. That's crazy talk. Now, as I said at
the open of the show, like listen, there's a world
where people online can say, hey, look at the last
fifty starts Dak Prescott Versusatrick Mahomes, Like this is a thing.
(01:50):
This is a thing that another network did. I'm not
gonna call them out, but everybody wants to go viral
right now, right you get these easily digestible charts quarterback
blind resdis for social media, and you look at it,
it's like last fifty starts Dak and Patrick Mahomes. They're
the same guy.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
This is it.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
We our staff got it. Look at how crazy we've
gotten as a football society. This is not made up.
If you cherry pick a few stats. Oh my wait,
Dak and Patrick will they're not that different. We'll pay
Dak and this is this is making America dumber. This
is what we're doing a lot of people. And again
it's easy to find a few stats, go viral and
(02:31):
you like you act like you made a point, like
I'm sorry, guys, Dak is not a sixty million dollar quarterback,
not even close to it. I would have him go
over Kyler Murray. I'll pay him a little more than that.
But folks, it does not look good for Dak and
the Cowboys going forward.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
and Noone Easter not a im Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio FS one and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Let's go to Alex Curry with the news.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
No no turn on the news. This a heard line new.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
In fact, though Dak holds all the cards up, you
think about it, because he becomes a free agent at
the end of the year.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
He doesn't have to accept a deal.
Speaker 5 (03:08):
And you know there's a team out there that's going
to overpay Dak and probably more than what the Cowboys
are willing to pay him if they don't lock him up.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Either are some desperate teams. There's a lot of desperate teams.
Or Russian Trey Lance are not the worst guys to
start in the world. I mean, they're not great, but
we've seen brock Purty's success with a stack deck.
Speaker 5 (03:24):
It's going to be interesting. Yeah, it's going to be interesting.
All right, Well, let's stay in the NFC East. Jaden
Daniels is in his first camp with the Commanders since
being drafted with the second overall pick. He and Caleb
Williams will draw comparisons throughout their careers, and while the
Bears committed to Caleb starting week one already, dan Quinn
and the Commanders are holding off on that decision for now.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
In true competition, that's you know, why we set it
up as we did, to have Marcus have some and
Jayden to have some. So no, no, no great declarations
other than like being true to who we are, you know,
as competitors. There's no doubt that Jade is making unbelievable
progress here and we'll have a really fun camp. But
he's earned that opportunity to go compete. We wouldn't have
(04:06):
given him those spaces, those times, those reps if he hadn't,
but it was really clear that he's put in the
work and he was ready to do that.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
So it was it was by intention for sure that
he was able to do that, Commander.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
Fans need to be excited because the future is bright
in Washington. Sure I Jade and Daniels, they got him
number two. Overall, Right, there's no rush for this situation
right now. They have, as you said they have. You
had just heard dan Quinn say they have Marcus Mariota
and there they're going to make.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
It a competition.
Speaker 5 (04:35):
But this also doesn't mean he's not going to start
week one. They're just not putting that pressure on Jaden Daniels.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Right out of the gates.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
Like we saw the Bears declare that Caleb Williams is
already going to be their starter week one.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
And did you see how he's getting.
Speaker 5 (04:48):
Picked apart in practice in OTAs he's struggling a bit.
It's like you, guys, it's not going to be easy
for anybody transitioning from college to the pros right out
of the gates.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
It's going to take some time.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
And I think by saying this it gives him a
little bit of a buffer to really figure it out
and not have the pressure of the world and of
the entire franchise on his back that he needs to
figure it out and be perfect right away. But you
also remember he has Cliff Kingsbury, who just spent a
time with Caleb Williams as his offensive coordinator at USC.
(05:20):
He is now his offensive coordinator. So he's gonna have
an offense that is tailored to him, that is going
to work for him. And those are the things you
have to focus on.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
I like your optimism. I mean, I'm an optimist, very
positive about a lot of stuff. I just looked at
the Washington quarterback depth chart, So Jayden Daniels versus Marcus
Mariota for the starting job after that, Jeff Driscoll. And
how about my guy from Notre Dame, Sam Hard pulling
up the rear. I saw him in the video. If
you look the guy with the longest hair, you'll see
I'm just telling you that guy can sling it. He
(05:52):
was my pick to be a rock perty type player.
I don't know if it happens in Washington. Washington fans,
you think he might be confident.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
I don't think think that. Listen, Dan Quinn, mister backwards
hat guides. Did you notice that you and Colin with
the back I don't care about the backwards head. That's
a coward thing. It doesn't bother me. I'm not I
don't wear my hat backwards. Usually sometimes I'll do backwards
into the side a little bit if I really want
to be you know, like, uh, a jerk. That's very rare.
But I do think that it's it's not much of
(06:24):
a competition. He's just saying this, Hey, but he's going
to be starter week. Yeah, okay.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
But then again, saying things like this get the media
who build these stories and create these unnecessary issues like
we saw with Caleb Williams, like, oh, he's not you know,
he's not connecting you practice, he's he's not finding a
spots like he's struggling. It's like, you, guys, they're not
even in pads yet.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
They're literally in shorts, like walking through.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
Walking through plays right now, just getting a feel of
the playbook and like your new teammates and and and
what the game is going to feel like with this
new system.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
I can't think of a time, Alex where during the
NFL season we were like, do you remember in June
and camp without pads, struggling, struggling.
Speaker 5 (07:10):
No, But I do like what dan Quinn is doing
here because again he's giving Jayden Daniels a little bit
of a buffer to figure it out. So if he
does struggle, okay, maybe he's not gonna be our Week
one starter. We'll give him some time and and and
wait until he's ready. It kind of ease him into it.
But if he crushes, yeah, of course, let's get to
the starting.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
The bullets to start firing in real life before we say, oh,
there's a quarterback competition, you know exactly, all.
Speaker 5 (07:35):
Right, Let's switch to the NBA, where Wemby is coming
off an impressive first season, unanimously winning Rookie of the Year,
becoming the first rookie to land the All Defensive First
Team and finishing second in Defensive Player of the Year voting.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
The Spurs. We'll look to add.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
Some more star power around Wemby, and an anonymous NBA
veteran believes that players will take pay cuts to join him. Now,
this is something I've I've talked about a lot. This
is a choice that every athlete has right because there's
no wrong answer whichever route you choose. As an athlete
(08:09):
because you don't have a super long time to make
your money, right, So a lot of players can either
go for the bag and just take all the money
you can, and then you're most likely not going to
be on a championship winning team because you're not going
to have that other money to get other players.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Or you take pay cuts and you go.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
Play with a unicorn player like Wemby and a legendary
coach like Popovich, and you go and you'd try to
be that dynasty legacy.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Whatever you want to do.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
You can go for the money, or you can try
to go for the championships and you take a little
bit of a pay cut because we want to get
a group together that can actually go forward and win it,
you're going to have to spread the money around a
little bit.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
I've never liked the Spurs, not no dislike, just indifferent,
but I love Webby And I saw something that I
sent to one of our guys here and he's like, oh,
we'll get it in Okay, do we have it? Do
we have it? What are you talking about? Webby shopping
in his Spurs gear. That's risky. So that's like you
noticed that san Antonio price is in the background four
(09:18):
ninety seven on sale, probably like a TV dinner or something.
So when min Yama goes shopping, and as if you
couldn't tell, there's a seven foot nine guy walking around
Wemby's wearing his Spurs shirt. Is it to remind he doppelganger?
He's a walking billboard. Yeah, so look at the lady
with the phone, like, and this is similar to Messi
(09:39):
taking the photo. Messi went to Miami, yeah.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
To play for Oh yeah, he's gonna get he's gonna
get stopped everywhere.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Yeah, and now he had a bodyguard. But like Messi's
shopping at the grocery store. People like, oh my gosh,
it's messy. But Messi's like did you see Messi's bodyguard?
Just oh sprint on the field, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 5 (09:55):
To tackle a guy like Crossfield the other day.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Yeah, yeah, he's worth Like here here one somebody made
the joke that shopping for his running mate his wingman.
Probably not what kind of grocery store is this is?
Look at that. That's not even like a I don't
have a nice grocery store. We live in California. It's
way different. I am a lay love not as much
(10:20):
as Airwan. I went to air on yesterday overpriced.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
Oh, it's like a it's like a cold scene, salet parking,
everyone taking like Instagram like TikTok videos outside with their cups.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
It was like a whole It was like, whoa, I
just walked into a influencer situation.
Speaker 6 (10:41):
Here.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
By the way, I I've never seen a photo of
Tom Brady walking through a grocery store. People like, oh
my gosh, it's Tom.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
I'm sure he probably Yeah, he doesn't want definitely, he's
a man.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Of the people. I love this.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
He's still going out and he's still getting his groceries.
There's something like.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Really pure and off some about that.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
But there was also some rumors because who who do
you think the Spurs will add around Wemby because there
were some rumors maybe Tree Young was kind of floating
around there.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Now. I don't know if I love that. Well, Unfortunately,
we have a couple of weeks we'll be hosting again soon.
We did because Coward's a vacation man. Yeah, so we
got some time before free agency.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
Yeah, all right. Well, sticking to the NBA, Damian Lillard
joined Yannis and the Bucks this off season, but they
didn't end the season like they wanted with a first
round exit to the Pacers. Now Dame didn't look like
his usual self, and Doc Rivers recently revealed the possible
reason why.
Speaker 7 (11:38):
We were at dinner and he said, Coach, I didn't
work out all summer. It's the first time in my
life that I've not worked out. I was so scared
of getting injured working out. He knew he was going
to get traded, so he said, you know, I did
some light running, I did some shooting with no one
in the gym, but I didn't go at all.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
He said, I was.
Speaker 7 (11:57):
I'm out of shape, and he was honest about it.
That's one of the reasons you love him because he
is honest. He said, this is the worst shape I've
ever been in.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
Never a good outcome when you're not when you're not
prepared for anything in life, especially when you were a
professional athlete. That great.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
No, No, Alex Curry with the news.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Well that's the news, and thanks for stopping by the
Herd Line News.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
All right, let's welcome into the Herd a longtime NFL
star Darryl Moose Johnston, Fox Sports NFL analyst and also
the ev let me get this correct EVP of Football
Operations for the UFL. Moose.
Speaker 6 (12:39):
How you doing, I'm good. How you doing?
Speaker 3 (12:42):
I'm excellent, excellent, Big weekend ahead, We got the title
game on Sunday on Fox. Your thoughts on the Stallions?
Can they do it again?
Speaker 6 (12:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (12:53):
I know?
Speaker 6 (12:53):
How about that?
Speaker 8 (12:54):
We got a little bit of a dynasty here going
on in spring football? So are we going to get
a three pete right out of the gates in spring football?
Speaker 6 (13:02):
And in the first year of the UFL, so they've
played really well. I think one of the.
Speaker 8 (13:07):
Hardest things when you talk about spring football is the
turnover that we have, you know, with the rosters and
the fact that that Skip Holtz and the general manager
Zat Potter have been able to get back to that
championship game the first two years and win it. And
now they're back again for a third consecutive year with
all that turnover, and I think a lot of it
goes into, you know, the culture that they've built there
and there's some senior leadership that has returned and make
(13:30):
sure that that is in place. But they'll be playing
the one team that knocked them off this season, and
they did that without John Lovett and Anthony McFarland, who
are back and healthy now, and when san Antonio decides
to run the ball, they could run it on just
about anybody.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
I like how you mentioned culture. My Jets could could
use a little culture infusion. Let's talk about last weekend's ratings.
Astronomical one point two million viewers on the conference semifinal
Conference Finals. I mean, that's a good open here heading
into the championship.
Speaker 8 (14:00):
It really is, really is much much better numbers than
either league last year individually, and really kind of a
tough weekend. There was some some big name marquee sporting
events during the course of last weekend, headed off by
the Belmont there on Saturday, and I think we were
number seven when you look at the sports viewing during
the course of Saturday's events, and then we were number
(14:21):
nine on Sunday. So it's been a really good showing
for US all season when it comes to a rating standpoint,
I think a couple of weeks ago, all four games
during the course of that weekend spiked at over one
million viewers at one point during the broadcast, and that
was the first for US this season, So you know,
the fans are really starting to tune in. I think
they enjoy the you know, the transparency that we have,
(14:42):
the access that we grant.
Speaker 6 (14:44):
It's a very entertaining broadcast.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
And Saint Louis has really embraced the league championship game
in Saint Louis's weekend. You guys are averaging thirty four
thousand fans per game in Saint Louis. Why is it
such a hit there? You think.
Speaker 6 (14:57):
Probably a couple of reasons.
Speaker 8 (15:00):
I think it is a football talent, and they've embraced
the battle Hawks right out of the gate, so that
you've got that factor. And then I think they want
to show to the NFL that they are a football community.
And there's still a little bit upset with the Rams
leaving Saint Louis, so they want to show everybody out
there who's a fan of the game of football that
this is a community that embraces the game.
Speaker 6 (15:20):
And it's been fantastic.
Speaker 8 (15:22):
What I've really liked from our legacy USFL teams is
that they have to go into an environment that's very
hostile and you've got to be able to execute and perform,
you know, with that crowd noise, and they're very intelligent
fans as well. You know you're seeing you're seeing a
little bit of it on the screen right now, but
I mean really coordinated orchestrated cheers.
Speaker 6 (15:41):
They understand the game of football.
Speaker 8 (15:42):
They know when to get loud, they know when to
be quiet to help their defense out. So that's one
of the things that's been great for our legacy USFL
teams is to get into that hostile environment and have
to execute and perform.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Obviously, everybody loves watching the UFL and seeing could this
guy translate to the NFL. So Monday is the first
day for UFL players to sign with NFL teams. What
do you kind of expect heading into a championship game
Sunday and then Monday the big day.
Speaker 8 (16:09):
Yeah, well, we're actually had some workouts already, so trending
towards the end of the week, we had twenty seven
of our guys you know, go to thirty one workouts.
Jake Bates has worked out for three teams, Liam Foornandell
has worked out for three teams. An offensive lineman from DC.
So it's actually Tuesday, Tuesday, we'll be able to start
signing those contracts. I'm excited to see what happens there's
(16:30):
a number of guys there. Our coaches have talked about
the quality of football all season long. They said it
was very difficult getting to that final fifty because of
the competition in training camp. They say the speed of
the game has been much improved from the first two
seasons for the USFL and the first season for the XFL.
The physicality has been there. So I think that our
(16:51):
guys not only getting the opportunity, but much better prepared
this year because the quality of competition was really kind
of bumped up with the team's going from from sixteen
in both leagues down to eight.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
All right, Daryl, let's transition to the NFL. There was
a report from Ian Rappaport NFL Network that Dak Prescott
is seeking sixty million dollars a year.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
Now.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
You've been around the league a long time. You see
and hear a lot of rumors. Which side do you think,
let's start with this, Which side do you think kind
of leaked this? Was this the Cowboys putting it out
there to make Dak look bad and greedy? Or is
this Dak saying, listen, I'm drawing my line in the sand.
This is my number. Cowboys aren't meeting it guys, and
we have an impass.
Speaker 8 (17:30):
Yeah, I'm not sure where the number came from, but
exactly the conversation that you were just having about san
Antonio and what you're going to do there. When you've
got that marquee player, how do you get other people
to come in. I think that that's one of the
things that happens. And I've become a big fan of
that window theory. When you've got that potential franchise quarterback
on that rookie contract, you you got to make your
(17:52):
you got to make your hay at that time and
try to make a run into championship. And once you
get those contracts signed to the quarterback, you know, that
starts to take away from your ability to surround him
with the talent.
Speaker 6 (18:02):
And I think that that's the biggest thing.
Speaker 8 (18:04):
And you talk about guys taking pay cuts to be
a part of the team that might chase the championship.
I think it's also interesting to see and we saw
this with Tom Brady towards the end of his career.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
You know, the desire to win a championship.
Speaker 8 (18:15):
You know, he was taking pay cuts, he was playing
for less to make sure that he had the people
around him to help him be successful. So I think
that that's one of the things as we talk about
these quarterback salaries getting higher and higher every time one
of them steps up to sign that new contract, that
this is going to limit your opportunity to have that
swing tackle, to have that fourth wide receiver, you know,
to have the pieces in place necessary on the on
(18:37):
the offensive side of the ball to help that offense move,
and then also on the defensive side of the ball.
You just you erode your depth, you eliminate the opportunity
to have an extended run because they've got they've got
Michael Parsons coming up, they got Ceedee Lamb coming up.
Speaker 6 (18:51):
You know that you've got to be forward thinking.
Speaker 8 (18:53):
So I don't know where the number came from, but
you know, hopefully it's not it's not true for Dallas
Cowboys moving forward, because that's going to be tough for them,
you know, to be able to build, to be able
to build that nucleus around Dak Prescott at sixty million
dollars here.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
Okay, I'm a longtime Jets fan, and I got to
say the Aaron Rodgers stuff is just wearing me down.
But maybe you could put me at ease. So you
were with the Cowboys for a while, obviously you had
Troy Aikman in there. I'm just curious, is this Rogers
missing mini camp?
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Is this?
Speaker 3 (19:23):
I know it's mandatory. It was apparently an excused absence.
They know where he is. They're just not saying. I
don't know, Daryl, should we read into this or is
this just Hey, it's June, let's talk about the NFL.
Aaron Rodgers is not there? Or is this an issue
the leader of your team not in the locker room
for mandatory mini camp?
Speaker 6 (19:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (19:41):
I think just from the leadership standpoint, you know, you
should have a good reason why you're not there.
Speaker 6 (19:46):
You know, he demonstrated a.
Speaker 8 (19:49):
Big desire to get back on the field last year
if at all possible with that injury, and it just didn't.
Speaker 6 (19:53):
It didn't happen.
Speaker 8 (19:54):
This season didn't unfold the way that maybe provided him
the opportunity. So, you know, the passion is there for
Aaron Rodgers to continue to play, and you just wonder
why he's not there from a leadership standpoint and really
starting to immerse himself into that offense and work with
the guys around him. I know it's not as diligent
as it was when I played. The off season, you know,
was much more structured. There was much more time spent
(20:16):
at the facility. You know, the OTAs that we did
were a little bit more competitive. You know, our off
season programs were much more challenging. You know, that's where
you prepare to get ready to make a championship run.
And it's just a different structure in today's NFL. So
I think a lot of people will look at it
from that standpoint where Aaron's played a lot of football.
(20:36):
You know, he whatever the reason why he's not there,
it's not going to impact the team moving forward. And
the reduction and the time they spend together, you know,
is so much more, you know today than it was
when I was there. You know, missing that guy for
a couple of days probably doesn't have the impact that
would have had on our team had Troy Aikman not
been there for a week of OTAs, because we did
a lot of installs, we were growing as a team
(20:57):
at that time.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
That's a great point. I hope Jets fan, a listening
NFL veteran who knows a little about the league. Great stuff.
Darryl Moose Johnson and we're looking forward to the UFL
title game five o'clock Eastern Sunday on Fox The Stallions
and the Bramas. Darryl Moose Johnston thanks a lot for
the time you got it.
Speaker 6 (21:16):
Thank you very much. Hope everybody joins in and watches us.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
Yeah, it should be a great game on Sunday afternoon.
All right, Coming up next here on The Herd, Alex
will test my finals knowledge and give me an NBA
Finals exam. You know I'll fail, jeez, that's next.

moments and fifteen minutes.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
O wrong for who you got in the final?
Speaker 6 (22:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
I gotta fill up my bracket. Yeah, yeah, I gotta
give me. I think England France would be such a
banger for five. I mean everybody would love that. Everybody.
You get Imbape, who's the best player in the world
right now? Sorry Messi? I love Messi the greatest of
all time. But Bope is there now? And Drew Bellingham Age,
I mean what a stud he is for England only
twenty years old. He's I'm a soccer guy. I know.
(22:30):
I'm excited for you. All right, So we're gonna do
best for last NBA Finals Exam, alex is gonna test me. Now.
To be fair, I have not seen these questions. My
computer's closed. I cannot google things on the fly, no
perplexity or chet GPT.
Speaker 5 (22:46):
I feel like, though you're a betting man and you
do profits, alf like that can help you.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
Yeah, are you ready for it?
Speaker 7 (22:53):
Ready?
Speaker 3 (22:54):
Let's first one up?
Speaker 5 (22:56):
Which player is averaging the most points per game in
the place in the playoff own playoffs?
Speaker 3 (23:01):
In the playoffs? See that's tricky. Damn Jason Tatum or
Jaylen Brown? Oh my goodness, I'm gonna go Jaylen Brown.
Damn it. Yeah, I mean they're close, They're closed.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
Tatum's twenty five point two points per game and Brown's
twenty four point nine points per game, So.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
I knew he was gonna get me on a little more. Okay,
moving on true or false?
Speaker 5 (23:27):
Luka Doncic is leading all players in total points, rebounds,
and assists in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Look, he certainly was. Is that still the case?
Speaker 7 (23:36):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (23:36):
These are good, these are tough. I'm gonna go with true.
Speaker 5 (23:38):
Yeah, there you go, feel good about yourself.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (23:42):
Which player is averaging the most minutes per game in
the playoffs? Tatum Doncic, Irving Holiday.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
Yeah, so Drew Holliday is kind of a wild card, Like,
why isn't Jalen Brown in there? Luca foled out, which
probably hurt. He's had to sit for an actual four minutes,
and I saw Kyrie played forty five in Game three.
I'll vot Drew Holliday chich is it? Luca? Yeah? I
mean Tatum is like close.
Speaker 5 (24:11):
Uh, Lucas forty one point two minutes per game and
then Tatum's forty one minutes per.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Game, So it's okay.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Yeah, Kyrie forty point four and it would be tough.
It's okay.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
Which franchise has won more titles since twenty ten, the Celtics.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Or the Mattress.
Speaker 5 (24:30):
Mavericks yep A one in twenty eleven, Celtics last one
in two thousand and eight.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
You know what this is? Like, I'm a shooter. Yeah,
so I have been kind of off and I need
to get my rhythm. So I get a layup. That
was a layup. That's a layout that one. You feel good?
Now feel better? Okay? Yeah? Which player was drafted the
highest overall? Brown? Tatum, Don Chic or Urban. So that's
a great question. Yeah, so I do know Kyrie went
first overall obviously, so it's Kyrie. But uh so Luca
(24:59):
didn't uncle first because some I think the Kings took
like Marvin Bagley second eight and went first. Tatum went third,
Brown win third, So it's kyreer. Yeah, let me go
all the others went third. I'm okay.
Speaker 5 (25:10):
Which of the following Celtics players has the highest salary
this season? Tatum, Brown, Holiday or perzingis.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Well, it's definitely not Tatum. We can cross him off
and I phone a friend or I don't think it down.
I don't think Brown's is kicked in Holiday or porzingis. Oh,
this this is gonna pay. I'm gonna go Drew Holiday, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (25:36):
Yeah, close by point nine. They both make thirty six million,
but Holiday is thirty six.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
Point nine million. Narrow victory, very small, all right.
Speaker 5 (25:45):
Mark Cuban sold a part of his steak in the
MAVs ownership for three point five billion dollars?
Speaker 3 (25:51):
How much did he buy the MAVs for in two thousand?
Is it? Can you see it on the screen?
Speaker 5 (25:59):
Is it a one hundred and eighty five million, B
two hundred and eighty five million, C three hundred and
eighty five million or D four hundred and eighty five million.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
I mean it is a dark threat. I hate to
come on Alex, not Alex, you Alex. One of our
producers is Alex together. It's not getting out of he's
a genius. He's a gambler too. I'll just take a
shot in the dark. Two hundred eighty five.
Speaker 5 (26:22):
Million, Yeah really woo And he still maintains twenty seven
percent ownership in the maps.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
What's all right? Decent ROLI huh?
Speaker 5 (26:31):
Or we're doing a full one to eighty on this one.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
Who's heavier like fIF pounds? Don't chic or porzingis? You
don't have to be PC, We're not PC. Who who's fatter? No,
I mean that's.
Speaker 5 (26:44):
Not the point that it's not that like you got
an extremely tall guy and then you have like a
seven three or six hefty fix burly.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
Who you're going with?
Speaker 5 (26:53):
Luca Porzingis, I'll go Luca. No, Porzingis seventy. Luca's two
thirty at six seven, He's.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
Not two thirty. If he's two thirty, I'm two hundred
and I'm not too hundred. No, no, no, all right.
Who has committed more turnovers in the playoffs?
Speaker 5 (27:11):
Doncic, Luka Doncic or Jason Tatum Andrew Holiday combined?
Speaker 3 (27:17):
Yeah, yea, yeah.
Speaker 5 (27:19):
Eighty two turnovers in twenty games, thirty more than any
other player.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
Thirty? Yeah, all right.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
Which franchise has more all time head to head wins
in the regular season a the Mavericks or be the.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Celtics regular season head to head wins? This is probably
a trick question. They only beat twice a year because
of East West, and obviously everybody would think Celtics. So
I'll go Madick. No, it sounds yeah, I thought myself.
You know, it happens, sometimes happens to the best of us. Yeah, Okay.
Speaker 5 (27:51):
Which former player is Kyrie Irvings godfather?
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (27:55):
Rod Strickland, that's up? Yeah, okay, I didn't even have
to Gotland, Washington, Wizards or Bullets.
Speaker 7 (28:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
It was a legend, ye, Rod and Roll, like I
had some game here, we out one more for you?
Speaker 7 (28:06):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (28:07):
Which city was home to the first ever seven eleven?
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Was it Dallas or Boston? Seven eleven? Am I supposed
to make a joke here because I'm like kind of
Indian and seven eleven? No, no, I'll go Dallas.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
Yeah, no, you got it opened in nineteen twenty seven.
Originally an ice house to store ice. Yeah, originally lame
Mo totem changed to seven eleven and nineteen forty six.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
So when I would you know, the summer, you're like
thirteen fourteen, and it's like you go to the pool
every day and like goof around. I mean we went
to the beach every day. You went to the beach,
you lived by it. I did not. I was in
the suburbs, got it. So we would bike to seven
eleven and cobble together, change and gets slurpees. Summer days
of that still happens, Yeah, except you can't cobble together
(28:57):
change now it's like eight dollars probably first you just
need your phone. It's just Apple pay. You think teenagers
have Apple paye yes, really right? I mean I don't
have a teenager. You have teenagers.
Speaker 5 (29:08):
No one takes no one takes cash, it's card or
it's on your phone.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
And they probably have a pre paid on the phone.
No phone's yet for our kids. Really yeah, I'm getting
put every day. My kid come, Dad, every kid in
the grade as a phone. He just turned thirteen, and
I'm like, not every kid, so I can name like
five or six and say no, he just got a phone.
And I'm like, d I.
Speaker 5 (29:30):
Remember because I was the last one to get a
to get a phone in my friend group. My my
parents are like not till you drive, not till you're sixteen.
I was like, seriously, I got it, and then two
months later two of my other sisters got him.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Like immediately. I was like, wow. Well, they say, once
you get the phone, turning back, it's over. Your kid
is now on the phone all the time. But don't
you want to like be able to know where they are?
They yeah, oh, watches are fine, okay, they just you know,
can't I don't know and level the future is on
the phone. The future is in technology, like his outdoors
(30:06):
playing and having that should be the balance of it.
But you're not letting your thirteen year old have a phone.
I mean, here's a little bit good. My son's at
a volleyball tournament this weekend and all the kids are
going to be on their phones in between matches, and
my son doesn't have a phone. So what does he
said by himself? Or well, he's like, can I play
a game on your phone? Can I watch? And I'm like, no,
(30:27):
hang out, be a kid, play games, goof around, but
no one else is playing. I'd rather my kid got
in trouble than just sat there scrolling TikTok or Instagram or.
Speaker 5 (30:36):
Honestly, yeah, I mean you can limit social media, but
also like if everyone else is on a like an.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Everybody else is doing it, it's not one of those.
Speaker 5 (30:46):
It's just that's everything is on your phone apps like
literally everything.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
Also true. Well, listen, good show. I think I passed
the finals exam. You definitely passed.
Speaker 6 (30:56):
Not bad.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Have a great weekend, enjoy the soccer. Everybody, stay safe
out there. We'll see you on Monday.
