(00:22):
listening to Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Analysts. Five years
as an NFL head coach, Cleveland and the Jets, three
rings obviously with the New England Patriots, and his vacation
house at an undisclosed location. Also here the Patriots. We
were talking about kind of the construct of an organization

(00:43):
that you know, well the Niners, And I said, okay,
they pay Kittle and McCaffrey and Trent Williams and Fred
Warner and Drake Greenlaw and you know, and Debo and
I do believe that Deebo and McCaffrey and Kyle are
the cake to that offense. Trent Ayuke's just really talented.
He's a little bit of the icing. They also draft

(01:05):
to receivers. So my take here is they're not paying everybody.
I kind of feel like they're willing to move off Ayuk.
And now that he's loud. You tell me the Niners
when when a receiver is talented, has a market and
you're kind of deep in that space, I think Ayuke's

(01:26):
getting moved. I'm on an island. Do you think it's possible.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
I definitely think it's possible, especially as a receiver gets loud.
And from an organizational standpoint, you got to figure out
how good brock perty is and and and you don't
want to lose a guy like you can all his
face production, and especially in a situation like they are
now where they have a chance to win the super Bowl.

(01:52):
But on the same token, chemistry is important. And if
you've got a guy who's who's a malcontent, who's going
to be disruptive, who's problematic, that can create a ton
of distractions that you don't need. And it looked like organizationally,
they anticipated being this situation, because why else do you
go draft receiver in the first round. Like I said,

(02:14):
they drafted two receivers overall, So I think that they
were planning for contingencies. And from a big picture standpoint,
let's see how good brock Purty is. He's got a
talented group, he should be able to continue to grow
and they got to figure that out.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
So I would never want hard knocks. I wouldn't mind
it as a player, but I wouldn't want as a coach,
and I would not want it as a GM. And
there have been a couple moments where I see Mara
and Joe Shane and I gotta tell you, it makes
me uncomfortable. And I'm not employed by the team. I
don't like how it comes off for Joe Shane. I'm

(02:51):
watching it and I'm like, oh, this is painful. What
do you make of the access they gave the NFL
or the NFL forced them to give.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Terrible It would be terrible to be in that situation
and you don't know what conversations they cut out you
to know most of the backstory. You're you're at the
mercy of the editor and what they find interesting. And
now all of your discussions and reactions are available to

(03:22):
be to be placed out into the into the ethos
during a time when when the fan base should be
the most excited. They this is the this is the
time of year where everybody's getting ready for what the
possibilities are. And if if your team is coming off
as negative at this point, how could any owner be

(03:42):
excited about doing that moving forward?

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Yeah, you know Belichick as well as anybody that's not
currently on his staff. He did not have much of
a job market. I think when you look at how
good Houston's roster is in three and a half years
with Nick Cassario who was in New England, either Nick
Cassario got in a plane to Houston and became brilliant,

(04:06):
or Belichick took over a lot of the personnel moves
in those drafts because New England had in Kassario's last
three or four years. They're bad drafts. And my take
is Houston's emergence is a bad look for Belichick and
that people look around and go, how come New England's
roster so bad? Sarios, I mean, he's literally had three

(04:28):
straight good drafts. Outside of missing maybe in an O Ligneman,
his free agent decisions have been excellent. Eric, I think
Bill the coach will get offers. Do you believe he's
capable of saying I'm not going to deal with any
of the personnel.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
It's interesting because at this point, what's a thirteen wins
away from Don Tula's record. So if he really wants
a chance that the Chase said, he's gonna have to
be willing to say that.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
The difficult part about that is which GM.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Is going to have the strength to stand up to
Bill and to stand up to him consistently and to say, no,
this player is better for your vision than the player
that you like. And is Bill going to be able
to take a step back and accept that. Now, maybe
Dallas is the best place for Bill because the GM

(05:24):
is the owner, and that's one person that you can't
push back against. And and he was able to make
it work with Bill Parcells, so maybe he can make
it work with with Bill Belichick and and and that
dynamic is probably the type of dynamic you need as
a Poston owner who's either not involved, who's not that
familiar with football.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Who's a new owner.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
That that can be a lot a lot trickier because
it's just going to be hard for any GM to
take that position of I know better than you.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
So I make my pre camp NFL predictions and I
get one or two more runs at this somebody's gonna
get hurt. Sixty quarterbacks played last year, but I basically
went with very few exceptions in the AFC with the
best quarterbacks I went Bill's Chiefs, Ravens, Texans, Bengals, Chargers, Jags.
I like the coaches and the quarterbacks. Burrows health concerns me,

(06:16):
but if he's standing up, I'll go with it. Also,
Trevor Lawrence is healthy, and Justin Herbert has what I
consider an elite coach in the NFC. I go Eagles, Falcons, Lions, Rams, Niners, Commanders, Packers.
I throw the Commanders in there because I think they're
my Houston. They get the number two quarterback, who I
think on weekends will look like the number one quarterback.

(06:37):
I like Kingsbury the play caller, and Dan the coach,
and new ownership, so that's my big swing. I've got
five new playoff teams. The NFL averages closer to seven
every year, so I'm a bit shy. Does anything there
seem like a reach or two predictable? What do you
make of my list?

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Well?

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I like the Browns more than more than you do,
and and I like them because of where they are defensively.
And then you add the fact that Mike Rabel's come
in and he's been helping out, and I think they've
gotten They've made some improvements defensively.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
As well.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
We know that they're they're a little bit at the
mercy of where Deshaun Watson ends up being as a player,
But that defense and the way that they found to win,
you know, through this this Watson sort of debacle has
been impressive. So I would put them on the list.
I think the Jets are interesting with Aaron Rodgers and

(07:36):
and maybe we'll actually get to see what what they
hoped and and what I think they could do. And
that in the division that that I don't think is
as strong as as a lot of people think it is.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
You know.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
On the flip side, I like the Commanders, I like Dan,
I like the quarterback a lot. I think that makes sense.
But the Bears, the Bears should be loaded offensively, and
if Caleb can give some of those wild plays that
we saw over and over in college, with the skill
players that are around him, they should be hard to

(08:11):
handle offensively. And then I really like that Matt took
over the defense of what the defense did and then
later part of the year, and as long as he
maintains control that defense, I think the Bears could easily
make the playoffs and then could could potentially win the division.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
and noon Eastern not a em Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio FS one and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
But you know, it's interesting Matt Eberflus goes into the
season on a bit of a hot seat. So does McCarthy.
I think those two Sean McDermott maybe a little bit.
Not as much. You went into a season before you've
been there around Thanksgiving when you start hearing about you know,
what's the future of the staff. How does that affect?
I mean with a rookie quarterback, a coach in the

(08:57):
hot seat if you start one in four in Europe
experience Cleveland Jets, can that affect performance? When you're reading
stuff in the paper because some of these hot seat
teams they got young quarterbacks, you know, they got they
got questions on personnel. What do you make of that?

Speaker 2 (09:13):
I think it depends on the character of the locker room.
And and it's it's easy when you're winning and all
the stars are willing to play hard, and do you
know what's expected from a game perspective when things are good.
It's when things are hard that if you've got a
high character locker room, typically those guys take a step back,

(09:36):
look at themselves, try to figure out what they can
do better, bond together and can dig out of that
hole if you've got the other group. Everybody, everybody's looking
for a life raft, everybody's looking for a way out.
I remember when I was in Cleveland back in clear
ninety five when we were.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Supposed to go to the Super Bowl. They not move.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Yeah, things don't go as well as they should have.
We had a really talented sem but we didn't have
the highest character locker room, and and that pulled everything
apart as opposed to guys bonding together.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
And and it's even what the potential was.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Eric Mangini. He told me this is the last day
of his vacation.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
And it is heading back to Ohio.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Colin Well, you know Brown's Ohio State, Cleveland, of you know,
there's there's I know you love it there. You could
have left, you loved it.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
It is a lovely place. There are a lot of
wonderful people there. And I kind of like where I
am right now.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Yes, I know where you are and I like it
there too. Great Saniezola's coach.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Awesome all right, Eric.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Mangini, Fox Sports love having him on our show, uh
Jamak with the news.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
This is the Herdline News.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
Have a Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 6 (11:00):
We don't talk about them and off they're kind of
a sleeper playoff team number two years ago they made
it well.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
There were nine and eight last year. Yeah, and a
couple winnable games slip away. Everybody thinks I don't like
Gino's more than capable. I just it's not. I'm not
gonna build my franchise, but Gino can win you ten
games in the NFC. There's no question.

Speaker 6 (11:19):
Pete Carroll had been there for a minute and that
kind of had worn itself out right, And now they
got the new coach, who I like a lot, But
Gino Smith is the guy's let's focus on. This is
seventh different offensive coordinator since entering the league.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
Ryan Grubb out of Washington and a good coordinator. Washington
put up good numbers with Pennocks last year.

Speaker 6 (11:38):
Gino seems happy about it, saying wherever coach Grubb's been,
he's been just an innovative coach who's found new ways
to attack defenses. Some of the plays are things we
haven't seen at this level. They got the receivers, remember
Jackson Smith, the Jigba metcalf Lockett.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
I think that they're like Pittsburgh. I love the roster,
I love the roster. They just can't quite in Pittsburgh
and Seattle easier division. Well yeah, but both Seattle and
Pittsburgh with defensive coaches, couldn't get the O line right
despite having some draft capital inserted into it.

Speaker 6 (12:14):
I would say, I would say Seattle's better, better scope position.

Speaker 5 (12:16):
Guys, and listen, this is not a hot take.

Speaker 6 (12:18):
But Gino Smith right now versus Russell Wilson right now,
who you got right now?

Speaker 5 (12:22):
Forget about the history.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Well, it's a pure pocket guy. Gino as an overall playmaker.
Russell Gino's not a bad pocket passer.

Speaker 5 (12:31):
Put up solid numbers.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
No, no, no, he's big, strong, that's not I mean. I again,
I'm not There are a lot of quarterbacks in this league.
I'm not building around. But Gino is in that somewhere
between fourteen to sixteen in the league more than capable
of you. You can make the playoffs. We've seen it
before with Geno Smith. And the best part about Geno
a little bit like Baker Mayfield, he rebooted his career

(12:55):
and that's always a good story.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
When you take vacation next month and I'm in the
driver's seat, I might have a hot take that Seattle
has a better season than the Rams. I don't think
I'm willing to put that up against you.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
You're Stafford and McVeigh.

Speaker 5 (13:09):
I don't want to watch your head explode. How sad
he looks.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
It's sad looks at their schedules. So let's be on.
Let's be totally fair. So they get Denver at home.
PFF says, worst roster.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
That should be a win win two and zero.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
It should be. Uh. Then it gets a little dicey
because then you face two of the playoff golf the
Niners schedule the first of all that schedule, weeks three
through eleven. Good night out.

Speaker 5 (13:40):
Golf, going outdoors to Seattle's all of a sudden, like unstoppable.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
In September, it's going to be like sixty.

Speaker 5 (13:46):
Three raining in Seattle like it always does. Uh. New
York Giants, that's a dub. So now they're now they're.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
Three and four game skin.

Speaker 5 (13:55):
Oh, come on, the Falcons are insurmountable. Come on, dude,
what are we talking about?

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Three thousand mile.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
Buffalo that'll be tough rams. Oh my gosh, is that
three road games in a row?

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Damn?

Speaker 5 (14:07):
One of those might be in London. But yeah, that's
that's okay. There's some tough, there's some land mines there.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
We have to root for the Seahawks because six out
of seven weeks in a row they're on Fox and
are good games.

Speaker 5 (14:18):
Well not against the Jets. We don't have to root
for them in that one. Listen, that's manageable. Nine and
eight could get it done in the NFC.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
Com that's true. Yeah, I mean I don't. I picked
just pick. I picked Chicago and Seattle third in their division.
I think they're both gonna go nine and eight. I
think they're good teams. I just think. I just think
the I think McVeigh and Shanahan get the edge over
defensive coach and I'm gonna take. I think the Lions
weaponry is Yeah, Lions are good.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
Next up, how about this one?

Speaker 6 (14:47):
This is uh is a good find. Dwayne Wade obviously
had a Hall of Fame career. Doesn't get the love
obviously to Kobe lebron Do, but he won multiple titles,
including one kind of by himself, but injuries derailed sixteen
year career and held it back from being one of
the all time greats. He went on a podcast and
admitted he thought he had a chance to dethron MJ

(15:08):
before injuries got.

Speaker 5 (15:09):
In the way.

Speaker 7 (15:11):
I'm not the greatest shooter of all the time. I'm
not the greatest this but I was great at so
many different things. No one knows how to really break
down my game. I did so many things in the
game of basketball. So yeah, I mean when I had it,
I had it, I thought I was. I thought I
was gonna be before injuries. I'm like MJ, I'm coming
for you.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Well. By the way, both physical players, great defenders, mid
range champions, tough as nails, excellent leaders. There is some
MJ to d Wade's game. I mean they're smart, tough, physical,
play bigger than their size, mostly mid range experts, great,

(15:52):
great elite defenders for over a decade, and they're tremendous
leaders MJ and Wade. So the difference is d Way
plays bigger than any player in league history for a size.
D Wade was six or four, played six to nine.
He played big, but he spress. As one thing about
d Wade man he was on the floor a lock.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
That's that.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
He was just a relentlessly physical player, one of my
favorite players ever.

Speaker 5 (16:17):
So, third year in the league, they win that title.
Remember the amazing.

Speaker 6 (16:21):
Comeback which was basically weighed against the MAVs.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
I think it was where he kept driving to the hoop.

Speaker 6 (16:26):
And the years after that, the injuries, his body just
kind of crumbled because that's a long playoff haul.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
In that third year in the league. I mean, he
was he was only twenty four years old by the
way when he won the title. And I know that
they got shack and stuff, but that was the d
Wade show.

Speaker 7 (16:39):
He was.

Speaker 5 (16:40):
He was one of my favorite players early on.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Go back to that. Didn't they have like a twenty
seven game winning streak lebron in hand, like they they
broke the NBA record. They that was year two I
think for that team, wasn't it.

Speaker 6 (16:52):
Yeah, he goes We'd have to look in depth, but
he might be a top twenty five player in the
history of basketball.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Oh, I think so he's I think so he's so good. Yeah,
I mean again, Carmelo Anthony will score more points. D
Wade wait significantly better.

Speaker 6 (17:06):
This is tough, but Wade versus Barkley Wade has the rings,
Barkley has an MVP.

Speaker 5 (17:11):
Both played bigger than their please.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
More of a fluid offensive player, but d Wade both iconic.
D Wade next level defense, probably better leadership stuff. I
would lean Wade over barkleym So I think I know,
I get it. They're both great, but I get it
to Charles his more fluid offensively.

Speaker 6 (17:30):
Final story, Colin is to the MLS. How about this
story where fourteen year old Cavin Sullivan had a record
breaking appearance for the Philadelphia Union this week, becoming the
youngest player to make his professional debut at fourteen years,
two hundred and ninety three days old.

Speaker 5 (17:47):
Colin, this story is unbelievable.

Speaker 6 (17:50):
He had signed the largest homegrown contract at MLS history
on May ninth.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
So he's going to transfer to Manchester City when he
turns eighteen.

Speaker 6 (17:58):
Kid's not even fifteen yet. I have the good fortune
of knowing someone who played on the team with this kid,
and they've been telling me about him for years. That listen,
this guy is unbelievable. He's got next Freddie Adu. Remember
Freddy Adu, who was supposed to be a huge deal.
He congratulated Sullivan on social media. Adu made his debut

(18:18):
at fourteen years, three hundred and six days old, and
for soccer fans, Freddy Adu was supposed to be I mean,
he's supposed to be like the next Pool who was
supposed to be polistic before Polisic. It didn't quite happen
for him, But you look around professional sports. Andrew Byam
debuted for the Lakers at eighteen years old and six
days NFL. You can't, you know, be a teenager in play,

(18:41):
but this is pretty impressive for a fourteen year old.
US soccer is on the rise. I know people are like, oh,
come on, this is a great sign.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
Great sign.

Speaker 5 (18:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
J mcklin news, Well that's the news, and thanks for
stopping by The.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Herd Line News one of my, if not my favorite

We've all used different tools.

Speaker 8 (19:44):
Listen to Unbreakable with Jay Glazer and Mental Wealth podcast

Speaker 1 (19:54):
Well, we don't want to waste any time. In one
of our favorite segments, Jamack our final set, when every
Friday predicts the headlines coming up either over the weekend,
over the next couple of weeks, some macro predictions, and
we call it tomorrow's headlines today. Are you ready?

Speaker 5 (20:11):
Indeed?

Speaker 1 (20:11):
I am all right? A lot of things that could
Summer Olympics, WNBA in full swing, a lot of things happening,
NFL camps, Tomorrow's headlines today. What's the headline for the
w NBA All Star Game this weekend?

Speaker 6 (20:27):
You know, WNBA making a debut in headlines, It's never
made it before.

Speaker 5 (20:32):
In the final segment of the show, and how long
have we been doing this like six seven years.

Speaker 6 (20:35):
Yeah, first time ever so WNBA All Star game, Caitlin
Clark against the Olympic team. The headline will be Jurassic Clark,
Caitlyn and Angel Evolve past Tarasisaurus Rex.

Speaker 5 (20:50):
Listen. I'm kind of excited for this.

Speaker 6 (20:51):
I don't know if you're gonna be able to fit
it into your busy weekend schedule, but we know all
Star games are like track meets, not a lot of
defense being played. I have just had this feeling this
is gonna be one of these tense, close games.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
It's gonna get heated because.

Speaker 6 (21:07):
Remember, Caitlin Clark was allegedly snubbed from the Olympic team.
You don't think she's gonna come out there and try
to show them, Hey, this is what you're missing out on.
But at the same time, you've mentioned this before, Michael
Jordan kind of got iced out at an early All
Star game by Isaiah Thomas.

Speaker 5 (21:22):
Is anybody going to give that treatment to Kaitlyn Clark
this weekend? I don't know. There's like some subplots out there.

Speaker 6 (21:28):
Are they kind of you know, mean girl's behavior toward
Kaitlin Clark. I don't know, or do they say you
got the green light logo three is all you want
and she drops forty.

Speaker 5 (21:36):
I think Caitlyn has a big game, but I think
he's worth watching.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
Certainly interesting tomorrow's headlines today, Team USA the men in
the Olympics.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
There's some concern. I've seen some people be like, this
is sixty forty. They'll win gold.

Speaker 6 (21:50):
The headline will be call me gold fashioned. Team USA
is a winning cocktail. I mean, listens good. This game
against Germany coming up, it's gonna be interesting. Germany is
not bad and obviously h you know, Serbia will be
tough with with Jokic, but I think they win gold.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Great.

Speaker 6 (22:10):
I think I'm probably seventy five percent chance that don't
take it.

Speaker 5 (22:13):
I am concerned this Serbia matchup.

Speaker 6 (22:15):
So they just played them and smoked them, Okay, but
they played them in group play and there's a chance
they'll play them in the knockouts.

Speaker 5 (22:21):
That's three matchups.

Speaker 6 (22:23):
Against the allegedly best player in the world in Jokic, Colin.
All he's got to do is win one of those
and and be a hero. I still think they go
undefeed it, but this is not gonna be a cakewalk
where they winning every game.

Speaker 5 (22:33):
By twenty five or thirty. Like the Dream Team, I'm
with you.

Speaker 6 (22:37):
I think they're the greatest collection or talent ever, But
I don't think it's gonna be an absolute cake walk.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
Give me Anthony Edwards as the MVP.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
Tomorrow's headlines today a lot of talk about the summer
League in Ronnie. What's going to be the headline for
Bronnie James this year?

Speaker 5 (22:54):
I don't another record. I don't think we've ever done
a headline about a second round pick rookie. Now, I
want to be clear, I am a fan of Bronnie.
I'm rooting for him.

Speaker 6 (23:02):
Yeah, that being said, the headline will be Lion King.

Speaker 5 (23:08):
Turns out Simba is no move. Apologies to Bronni. We
had to uh lit'sten. He's a second round think. I mean,
the guy.

Speaker 6 (23:18):
Misses fifteen straight threes, that's gonna happen. He's starting to
find a little rhythm here in the next two games.
But the more I watch and see Colin and they
got the negative real package here off.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Well they got They've gotta he's gotta be able to
be point.

Speaker 6 (23:31):
At some points he cannot handle well, he can't play.
I mean, Pat Bev was like a point guard and
could handle. He averaged like thirty seven a game in
high school.

Speaker 5 (23:40):
That's not Bronnie. He's a promising guy. We're all rooting
for him. This is a tough, uphill climb.

Speaker 6 (23:45):
He's gonna sit on the bench, a line's gonna be
in the G League, and you know, hopefully he gets
in some games.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
I'll put the over under on appearances. You know, like
twenty this season for.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
Bronnie Tomorrow's headlines today, twenty is not bad. What the
headline for the kind of chronically semi unhappy Raider receiver
DeVante Abbas. I wonder why it made the headline?

Speaker 6 (24:10):
Yeah, yeah, well, you know, listen to Raiders are a
bit of a dumpster fire, sad sackle organization hasn't done
anything in years. The headline will be Dante's in Sorry,
DeVante's inferno, misery in Vegas extinguished.

Speaker 5 (24:25):
They're gonna be shipping him out at the deadline. I
think we would agree.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
He's gonna they want the number one pick. They want
they do.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
Want the number one pick. But think about it.

Speaker 6 (24:32):
You got a team like Detroit, Okay, you never never
want a Super Bowl. Wouldn't Detroit say, hey, we're close.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
We're close.

Speaker 6 (24:38):
Let's get that second receiver to go opposite Amara sat proud,
we're all in.

Speaker 5 (24:41):
Wouldn't wouldn't they do that?

Speaker 6 (24:43):
Hell, wouldn't the Jets if magically they're I don't know
seven and two, say we got this, we're close, let's
go get Davante. It makes all the sense in the
world if you're close and you sense it, and we
admit the chiefs are vulnerable.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
Right.

Speaker 6 (24:58):
I just don't see why somebody, the Allions, the Jets
that's close wouldn't go all in. Hell, Colin, the Buffalo Bills,
who you love, have the weakest receiver room of any
of the contenders.

Speaker 5 (25:09):
You could stack them up next to each other. They
don't have a receiver. No, now you add Davante.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Excuse me?

Speaker 1 (25:14):
What how are you defending this team?

Speaker 6 (25:16):
Josh Allen running like there's a gonna be a big
market for Adams. I think he's gonna be a hot commodity.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Yeah, good route runner, hard worker, highly productive, wants to win. Yeah,
and to your point, if the Raiders start one in five,
what are we doing? Yeah? Finally, Tomorrow's headlines today another
verbal disgruntle receiver, much more so diva receiver. Another you
can Brandon I Yuke, What is the headline for Brandon?

(25:44):
I uka the Niners.

Speaker 5 (25:47):
You know, I'm not gonna make this my waterloo.

Speaker 6 (25:49):
And go all in, but the headline will be are
you kidding me? Brandon back to backhand Lombardi. I think
he returns to the Niners and wins the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (26:02):
That's my prediction. I'm all in on the Niners.

Speaker 6 (26:04):
I don't think they trade him, and I think he
could play a pivotal role. I mean, he's a very
good receiver. His postseason was spotty.

Speaker 5 (26:09):
He was not great.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
Yet, don't take the end zone He's he's you know
he'll get you into the end zone.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
He will.

Speaker 6 (26:15):
I just think with this offense, which you can do
with Purdy and moving around Deebo and McCaffrey, you've got
to keep Ayuk. Now, we did see the report that
the Patriots have reached out and they're interested. But I
don't know why are you giving them up for a
first round pick? But plus, you're not getting the Patriots
number one pick next year that could be a top
five pick.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
Well, here's why you would do it, because you are
getting really old at left tackle and del be A.
That's why you give up the first round pick to
New England. So New England's not going to be good,
so you're gonna get their pick. That pick could be
third or fourth in the league.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
Do you think they're doing that Patriots?

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Well, what do the Patriots need more than anything? They
have got to get a number one receiver. What do
the Niners need a top six or seven pick to
go get their Joe Alt to go get their top
tackle because Trent's getting ulled. So the Niners on the
wish list, their real needs are left tackle. I mean

(27:13):
they don't and they're great at it, but Trent could.
If Trent says goodbye with Brock Purty, this whole thing
could come tumbling down. So I think the Niners say, hey,
if we New England's pick is not just a first
round pick, it is a top four first round so
you're getting the best at any position. They don't need
a quarterback with Purdy, so you're getting the best either

(27:33):
edge rusher, tackle, defensive tackle. So you're getting something. You're
You're not gonna draft the running back.

Speaker 5 (27:39):
You don't need that.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
You don't need quarterback, running back, or wide receiver. What
you'll need is left tackle, and that's I hadn't considered.

Speaker 6 (27:50):
Do you really think the Patriots are calling and saying, yeah,
our number one pick next year is in play.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
I cannot imagine that. Maybe they'll say, hey, we'll give
you two two's.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
All right, Well I would take two twos right.

Speaker 5 (28:00):
Now, though that doesn't help you win a Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
Which is the two's are starters for for.

Speaker 5 (28:05):
The following year, but not for this year. That's why
I'm not doing that now. And I don't know. You
just said something that. So let's say the Patriots do
say our number one picked him play we wanted to
do the deal, now.

Speaker 6 (28:18):
Would Shanahan go as far as saying, boy, instead of
having a pay rock party, we could just reset the
quarterback clock by drafting some guy in the top five.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
No, I don't know. I don't quarterback if Jaden Daniels
was there, Yeah, if you.

Speaker 6 (28:35):
The quarterbacks at the top of next year's class are good.
The kid at Georgia should do or Sanders, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
About kids, kid. George is going number one quin yours.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
I like Queen Yours.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
You hit it. George is going number one out on yours.
I've never been he's got a little j cutler to me,
just a little squirrely. He's okay, he's talented, but I
don't But.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
Niners also did just draft uh what's his face? The quarterback?
They traded trade lance up top a couple of years
ago that flamed out spectacularly.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
So I don't think they're moving off pretty I think
they I think Kyle likes somebody that follows his direction.

Speaker 5 (29:06):
At fifty million a year versus at a million a year,
I like pretty a lot. You know that. I will
defend him.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Oh, you've got him up there with Josh Allen, but
I don't want to pay him, Like, oh it's funny,
he's oh great, but you don't want to pay him.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
Well, I don't want pay it. Fifty million and.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
Nice cars cost money, so to quarterbacks?

Speaker 5 (29:22):
Can I get him for forty? What are you give
me a hometown disco?

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Good? Look, he's already in California, so they're already taking
half his money.

Speaker 5 (29:29):
They're not come on, stop with better.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
Apartments about seven million?

Speaker 5 (29:33):
Are you talking to Caleb Williams dad or something was
going on?

Speaker 1 (29:37):
By the way, We've been talking about this all week,
but we have very opposite weekends. So I'm going east
for a very very exclusive party on the beach.

Speaker 5 (29:51):
Oh god, what are we doing here?

Speaker 3 (29:53):
Guys?

Speaker 1 (29:54):
And jamac is out hoisting threes in a rec league.
So as we put the if we if we juxtapose
these for our television audience, what weekend looks like a
lot more fun.

Speaker 6 (30:05):
Well, I know the real ballers want to play basketball
instead of pop bottles on the beach with some boozy
coastal elites. I'm out here in the salt mines, just
grinding away on the basketball court, sweat equity.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Baby, Look at that. That's the best version of us,
right there?

Speaker 5 (30:25):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (30:25):
I don't know. Too bad, I don't like champagne, and
too bad you can't shoot otherwise.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
But I have I have earbuds. I don't have those
wire buds. Come on, what is this twenty seventeen?

Speaker 1 (30:35):
Yeah, all right, buddy. My flight has not been canceled
yet yet. I've been on my American airlines.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
Are you gonna word disguise at the airport if you
have to sit there for four hours? You know what?

Speaker 1 (30:46):
People are nice? Everywhere everywhere I go, people are nice.
You know, why would you want to disguise it? I
didn't get into this thing to be anonymous. Go out
there and buy people beers and say hi and bis
bump and talk sports. You know, people say, do you
get tired of talking sports? And I'm like, if I
had chosen, I chose a career to talk sports.

Speaker 6 (31:05):
But I mean, if you're stuck at the airport today,
people beer a beer. You know, there's some ladies boozing
it up at the airport. I'm married, happily, you have
an AD's not there.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
Who cares? But what kind of guy that we got
working here?

Speaker 6 (31:19):
I like how we I like how we're trying to
look over my shoulder, like there's answers why am I working?

Speaker 5 (31:23):
And would slap my Come on, you've never floorated an airport?

Speaker 1 (31:27):
No, I don't.

Speaker 5 (31:28):
I don't, maybe because you have no game.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
I don't. I absolutely don't. I don't either, Nor am
I interested in the wrinkly game I have being for
me to all right, Annie, don't listen to him. He's
a bunch of nonsense. I'll see you soon.
