Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Fun time of the year, it's camp time for the
older teams. They don't want to practice as much. Young
teams just figuring things out. Greg Jennings played in this
league for a decade, a Super Bowl champan, a multiple
time Pro Bowler. So you know, I've said this about like,
I always think there's about seven or eight teams over
the course of a season that you would play, Greg,

(00:47):
and you were on many of those, and you can
just tell coach, quarterback, leadership, that's a super Bowl team.
And then I always think there's three or four that
are kind of around the bubble. The coach maybe isn't proven,
the old line in a rebuild, they're good, they could
beat you. But you know I had this week, I
had my Super Bowl bubble and I had about six
seven teams in it. Then I had the Jets kind

(01:11):
of the Texans are kind of young on the periphery.
You know, Aaron, you know the Jets. Where do you
put the Jets rebuilding the O line, unproven coach Aaron
off an injury. Are they in your bubble or on
the edges of it like they are? For me?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Oh, They're in my bubble, no question. There in my bubble.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Every year that Aaron Rodgers was in Green Bay and
he was healthy, whether he was coming off an injury,
and I get it he was younger, but every year
that he was under center there, what did we say, Colin?
We said the Packers got a chance. They're contender as
long as Aaron Rodgers under center. And so I'm not
going to now remove them from that because his roster

(01:52):
is the best we've possibly seen surrounding him.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Like he's had tremendous talent.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Don't get me wrong, like even our Super Bowl year,
we've had tremendous talent. But as of late, this is
the most talented roster he has been able to have
around him. So it's not going to be a matter
of we need Aaron Rodgers to be what the Packers
needed Aaron Rodgers to be in recent years. No, we
have the talent, we just need you to be better

(02:17):
than what we've had because we.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Were on the cusp.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
And so I look at that and I always say
that you got a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers, It's not
just about his talent level, It's more about what's above
the shoulders. That's what's going to get this team over
the hump for me. That's why I got them inside
my bubble.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
You also have the Chicago Bears around there. They have
a coach on the hot se see coach in the
hot seat, rookie quarterback. I do think they're all line
in weapons, are better than people think. Why are you
willing to roll the dice on Chicago? Also very good division.
They have the only defensive coach in an offensive coach division.
Why do you like him?

Speaker 4 (02:55):
So when I watched the Chicago Bears last year, I
was high on them defensively year, and they improved. And
that's where when I look at that division, I feel
like that division is one of the best in football,
and they may beat up on one another. And so
when you have a division like that, it's very similar
in a different way to the AFC North, where you

(03:18):
just never know who's gonna come out. That's what the
NFC North is appearing to look like right now, with
the Green Bay Packers making their strides, obviously the Detroit
Lions where they've come from and where they are now.
In the Chicago Bears, you've made tremendous improvement. You have
what you believe to be your future under center. And

(03:38):
if it looks the way that it should look, and
you're hoping it looks kind of like the Texans last year,
you have the talent around them. This is a team
that could just pop on the radar and all of
a sudden find themselves in the postseason. And once you're
in the dance, anything can happen.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
You know, we said this is if you don't have
a guy named Brady or Mahomes, and you know, those
guys have dominated the trophy room for the last twenty
years in the league. But if you go back to
the day Brett Farnb became Brett Farr became the Packers quarterback,
this is amazing. Nine conference championships. They have the number

(04:19):
one offense in the league since that time, and not
with a Bradier Mahomes, with three different quarterbacks, and they've
had offensive coaches, but it is pretty remarkable. No owner,
below average weather, not a good free agent market. They
if you take out just one iconic quarterback, they're the

(04:39):
only team in the league in thirty two years that
always has a good old line number one in offense,
nine conference championship games. There is a secret sauce in
the building. They don't have an owner who just comes
down and writes a check. A lot of flashy edge rusher,
star receivers, they don't want to play there. The division
right now is very good. What's the secret sauce to

(05:02):
Green Bay?

Speaker 4 (05:04):
For me, it's the way that they draft and they
kind of have this Bill Belichick in like way of
doing things where we used to always question like why
is he letting this player go? Or why wouldn't he
hold on to this guy? It's because the Green Bay
Packers have a way of developing guys, bringing guys in
and allowing them the opportunity to develop while they have

(05:26):
the talent at that said position. That's always been their
their secret sauce. Even when you look at Aaron Rodgers,
they were able to get him in the later.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Round of first round.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
He sat for years behind bref They knew he was
going to be kind of a working progress, but they
also knew they had a guy in front of him
that he was going to learn from. It was the
same exact template they used with Jordan Love.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Despite how we all felt about.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
It, it's like, you know what, we got a guy
that we know can get it done right now. But
if we can get a guy in here and can
learn from this guy, no one's gonna love it. No
one's gonna think it's the right decision. But this is
how we operate. And so you bring in a good coach,
he's gonna always have you in contention.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
They typically always have a at.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
Least average defense, sometimes above average, but offensively they're going
to be a problem. And now we have a quarterback
in Jordan Love that they're about to pay that. They
have weapons around, and they're all young, they're thirsty, they
don't know any better, but they know.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
All they know is what.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
This team in this franchise has always done, which is
when and so you know, what they believe that they
can do is what this franchise has always done, which
is when.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Yeah, you know, you start looking around that I've been
talking about this today and I think it's really interesting.
Russell Wilson has never been known as sort of a
galvanizer of the locker room. He's rich, the big mansion,
the wife. He is not necessarily one of the young guys.
Brady did a great job as he became iconic to

(07:01):
kind of go out and relate with the dudes. There
is There are reports and people taking shots at Russell.
Maybe that's not his thing justin field, though not as
I would say consistent as Russ was beloved in Chicago,
like the most popular guy in the locker room. And
I do wonder you've been in locker rooms but you
never had this issue because your quarterbacks were great, but

(07:23):
you did have an old farther and a young Aaron.
What if Russell struggles a little? Their schedule's tough, and
the young guy that everybody likes that relates to it's
one of them and looks great in practice. I could
see after a two game losing streak week five or
six seven, like Russell kind of like losing some dudes

(07:43):
in the room. Or is that just media guy making
something up. Do you think that's possible.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
No, I definitely think it's possible.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
It's hard to dismiss what has transpired and what a
guy is bringing with him.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
You try to give a guy a clean slate.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
But when we see all that transpire when he was
in Denver, what it looked like, some of the contentious
things that happened on the sidelines, and all the reports
that were out there, It's like, what is true? And
so now you got guys in that locker room, who's
gonna find out what was any of that true?

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Was it Russ? Was it just the hearsay stuff?

Speaker 4 (08:21):
And so right now I believe that Mike Tomlin is
he is the common denominator to keep everything steady aety.
What he decides to do, I believe is the right
thing you start. Russell Wilson, I do believe that Justin
Fields is the better quarterback, I should say, more talented
quarterback and can potentially be the future moving forward. However,

(08:43):
Justin Field has never been able to sit down and
watch how professional football is run. Offenses are run and handled.
That's what Russell Wilson provides. Can he deliver? I don't
believe he can, but I believe he's in a situation
where they're the they're stable enough defensively, and they have
some core pieces offensively to where he can hold them

(09:05):
afloat and if they need a play to be made,
they got a guy on the bench that if you
don't get it done, we're turning to like, I don't
think it's a deal where Russell Wilson's gonna finish this
season out. I think there's a stretch where I believe
they play the Cowboys, the Raiders, the I think the Giants,
and someone else before the Giants. But it's all defensive

(09:28):
teams or teams that lean on their defense. If Russell
Wilson struggles all before the bye week, If Russell Wilson,
if he struggles in those four games, it's going to be.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Handed over to Justin Fields.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
In my opinion, Mike Tomlin is not the type of
coach or that organization to make quick decisions, but he
understands we have a chance to do something that no
one believes that we can do. We're always in it
and if we can have a difference maker under center,
we can possibly do something special.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Greg Jennings, he'll be on First Things First after our show.
It's now a two hour show. Greg Azolwa's it's a Friday.
Great scene, My ma'am. Thanks for having me, you bet,
Greg Jennings.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
in noon eastern non am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
FS one and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Little update there. We bounced around the NFL today. We
went to Pittsburgh's camp, little Greg Jennings Jeff Schwartz on
Big ten Media Day. So we're just bouncing around the
country giving you a little bit of everything.

Speaker 5 (10:29):
Not just the country. We went to Paris, did we not?

Speaker 1 (10:32):
We went to Paris? We went global to.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
This show's international.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
That's how we're like Pitbull.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Pitbull's international, right, He's mister international, aren't all?

Speaker 1 (10:41):
I see what I did there, mister international. Yeah, all
musical acts are kind of scalable on international, aren't they.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
The show's Internet.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
Remember I got recognized in London twice by who people
fans in London.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
I told you about this, didn't well?

Speaker 1 (10:56):
I think so? Yeah.

Speaker 6 (10:57):
One lady said I actually helped and her husband winning
an NFL gambling pool because of the picks that we
were giving out on the show last season.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
I mean, I say, wee, but it was mostly so you.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Literally may have paid for a European vacation for a family. Well,
I do it for my family with some NFL picks.
The gambling has been good to me in the last
couple Well, you college basketball and the NFL. NBA was
up and down. But there's gonna be a good NFL season.
I don't like betting NBA regular season the postseason. I
think you get a truer effort like March Madness. You

(11:26):
get a real effort.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
You get the zigzag too, you know.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Yeah, But I NFL and you call college basketball is
you're one of the You guys don't know this, but
j Mac will literally walk in some days off the
air and say, oh, took Creighton last night plus eleven.
You bet rando team.

Speaker 5 (11:43):
Settle down.

Speaker 6 (11:45):
You do our NFL over under thing next week where
we draft the teams we like.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
You could go ahead, you're taking Denver first. That's fine.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
We gotta do that. Enjoy that.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
We gotta we gotta do that. That's one of ours.

Speaker 6 (11:55):
But you know, Andy Reid overs are a lock back
practically with the Chiefs. I think he's like nine and
to season win total oversight.

Speaker 7 (12:02):
J Manck with the News, this is the herdline news.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
Uh will Levis.

Speaker 6 (12:12):
You've had a fractured relationship with Will Levis, calling him
the gun show. Well, he's entering year two with the
Tennessee Titans, and he's already uh garnered some Josh Allen
comparison to this offseason with the Big Arm Okay. Tennessee
added Calvin Ridley to the wide receiver room, and he
had high praise for his new quarterback, comparing.

Speaker 5 (12:30):
Him to a former MVP.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Will you know he's doing everything. I mean, I played
with Matt Ryan. Will is doing the same thing Ice did.
I mean, he's he's he's really he's ready to work.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
I mean, and he's not, you know, satisfied with you know,
I'm sorry with uh, you.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
Know, just he wants it to be good.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
You know, we want to work to get better so
that you know, when the game's cut off, we look good.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
Will Levis is Matt Bryan.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
He's got an offensive coach. They upgraded weapons. I think
five Thanksgiving it my rule second year. By Thanksgiving, everybody
in that building will know if he's it. He's got
a really really nice arm. He's got a hitch. You
just saw it there. He's got a little bit of
a hitch. I don't like and that hitch thing he's got.
Like there he did it again. I don't like the hitch.

(13:16):
Uh he turns his shoulders. That's half a second.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
I got some bad news for Tennessee Titans fans.

Speaker 6 (13:22):
So they have one of the toughest schedules in the league,
and they are favored in zero.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
Games this season.

Speaker 6 (13:28):
They're underdogs in all seventeen of their games. If you're
looking at I mean, listen, if they don't get the
Bears or Jets in the first couple weeks, look at
that Packers.

Speaker 5 (13:37):
That's a playoff team from last year. Dolphin's a playoff
team from last year.

Speaker 6 (13:40):
Culture on the come up Buffalo Detroit, Like this could
be worst case scenario. They're like one in seven and
now we're talking about a quarterback next year in the
draft or maybe Dak Prescott. I'll say this about levis
first game last year, four TV passes. Remember that he
came out chucking.

Speaker 5 (13:57):
After that, I guess they got some tape on him
and he couldn't really do anything.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
Well, that was the knock in the sec. It wasn't
a lack of brains or talent, but you know, I
just I kind of feel like how he likes the
way he looks. He gets a little into that.

Speaker 5 (14:13):
Well, the shirtless stuff.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Yeah, it just it just doesn't work. There's something there.
And I've said this sometimes I just spot something. I'm like, yeah,
that doesn't work for me.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
Remember he anytime it was a problem. Last Hey we
got Derek Henry. Let let's get the ball to Well,
he's in Baltimore now. So I don't feel great about
the Titans.

Speaker 6 (14:32):
They're certainly not sniffing my Super Bowl bubble. But let's
move on to the NBA, where Jalen Brunson signed a
discounted one hundred and fifty six million dollar extension with
the Knicks, leaving one hundred and thirteen mil on the
table to give the team some cap flexibility. Well, of
course Knicks fans are thrilled, but Carmelo Anthony has shined

(14:53):
in on Jalen Bruns's due deal. You'll be shocked to
hear what he said.

Speaker 8 (14:56):
Oh boy, one hundred and thirteen to make that up
on it back and so again, I don't I don't
know the logic and the thinking behind why he did it.
You it's a lose lose situation if you leave money
on the table.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
People got something sick.

Speaker 8 (15:11):
If you take the contract, people got something right. You know,
you know his situation. I think JB know his situation.
He working with the Knicks is a situation that they're
gonna figure out. This is this is the he got
more coming?

Speaker 5 (15:29):
What is he talking? How is this a lose lose situation?

Speaker 1 (15:32):
Boy, He's going to get a better teammates and win
and eventually in a couple of years he'll sign the
big deal. So how he didn lose lose?

Speaker 5 (15:39):
This doesn't make any Carmelo Anthony's.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Well he is. He's never had the greatest self awareness,
So yeah, I would you know, there's no reason to
beat up on Carmelo. I always thought of all the
superstars in the league and he and he was the
one I didn't just underachieved. Well, it's not. It's just
like he was a very rigid player. He wasn't willing
to step back, can take a three, or defend, or

(16:01):
be in great shape. He just was so gifted. He
was such an offensive prodigy in high school in college,
but he never developed other elements of his game. He
didn't pass the ball particularly well. He scored two's lethal
score lethal mid range two point score wasn't an assist
guy that would. Durant just could score and better. But

(16:24):
Durant a willing defender. Durant's also a better rebounder, So
Durrant's a better player overall, not just more gifted offensively.
But Durant would step back and take threes. Mellow wouldn't.
So I mean, listen, if you're not going to elevate
others very few assists, you're not going to defend like
everybody else in the team, and you won't even step
back and take a three, you can make the Hall

(16:45):
of Fame, But I don't view you as an all
time great. I just view you as a great score
I grew up. George Gervin was a great score man.
Dominique was a great score and I put him in
that class, which is you get the Hall of Fame.
Oh yeah, hell of a player. But I'm not putting
you in the next group, the top twenty five group.

Speaker 5 (17:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (17:02):
Jalen Brunson's accomplished as much as Carmelo did in his
entire career with the Knicks.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
And and by the way, he's just going into his
prime for the next six years with the best roster
of his career. Jalen Brunson has a very strong likelihood
to be in the Eastern Conference finals next year. I
trust them over Philly. I think Philly's got more stars,
but I trust New York. I just trust the next
style the Villanova guys. Tims just signed the extension and

(17:29):
I trust Jalen Brunson more than MBT.

Speaker 5 (17:31):
This final story, Colin is unbelievable.

Speaker 6 (17:34):
So the Olympics are underway and there's a major scandal
in women's soccer team. Canada is looking to defend their
gold medal. They were busted spying on New Zealand's training
sessions with a drone.

Speaker 5 (17:48):
This is like stuff something right out of Bill Belichick playbook.
So Canada one to one.

Speaker 6 (17:53):
But New Zealand saw this drone flying over it complained
and that you know. The Olympics looked into it and
they have suspended Canada's head coach as she likely knew
with the drone situation.

Speaker 5 (18:04):
Now Alexi Lawless here at Fox and others have started
to chime in.

Speaker 6 (18:07):
This casts the Paul over everything Canada's has done in
soccer course, because it looks like the men's team had
been using a drone as roadude.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
This is bad.

Speaker 6 (18:16):
Now.

Speaker 5 (18:16):
Nobody on the men's side has been totally implicated.

Speaker 6 (18:18):
Head coach Jesse Marsh, who the US liked and interviewed
back in the day, only found out about it afterward.
But Colin, this is some next level stuff to use
a drone to spy on a soccer opponent and try to.

Speaker 5 (18:31):
Get an edge.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Everybody wants it as so Uncannadian. And if I had
told you, oh, there's this country that had a big scandal,
you think like Russia, you'd never think cannabis is out
of character like the Canadian nice Like that just doesn't.
It doesn't. Their brand is like nice, accommodating, decent, play

(18:54):
by the rules, like their Molson, and they're out there
doing crazy to stuff.

Speaker 6 (19:00):
Listen, Belichick was win it all costs. We just got
to win, and he got, you know, ensnared in spygate.
I think this is this is a blight on Canada.
Like you said, they're like a nice country.

Speaker 5 (19:12):
They look down at US.

Speaker 6 (19:13):
I think I had a joke about like where the
the US is like the meth lab downstairs the neighbors
to take nice Canada and like this.

Speaker 5 (19:21):
Is just this is ugly spying with a drone ooof
looking for an edge.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Jmack with the news.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Well that's the news, and thanks for stopping by the
herd Line News.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
That's hard to believe that that file out under. I
have a hard time believing that. But I mean, if
it's out, it's out. I mean even both teams. We
I don't think our soccer federation is competent enough to
do that. It just shows how organized they are. Yeah,

(19:54):
they couldn't hide it, but you know they worked in
unison together.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Be sure to catch live editions of the weekdays and
noon Eastern not a Empacific.

Speaker 9 (20:03):
Hey, we're Covino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to seven pm Eastern.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 9 (20:09):
We never have enough time to get to everything we
want to get.

Speaker 7 (20:11):
To, and that's why we have a brand new podcast
called over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun
in our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for. Yeah, you blubber list lame in me.

Speaker 9 (20:26):
Well you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.

Speaker 7 (20:30):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 9 (20:44):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also uncensored by
the way, so maybe we'll go at it even.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
A little harder.

Speaker 9 (20:51):
It's gonna be the best after show podcast of all time.

Speaker 7 (20:54):
There you go, over promising, and remember you could see
on YouTube, but definitely join us. That's an over Promised
with Cavino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts
or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 6 (21:06):
Tomorrow, it's Baseball Night and America on Fox. Another chapter
in one of the greatest driveleries in sports unfolds as
Aaron Judge and the Yankees take on the Red Sox
or the Mariners take on the White Sox. It all
begins tomorrow at seven eastern.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
On the Binding Hall of Fame. Game Bears and Texans
next Thursday. Very very exciting, so Former News paper Titan.
Jason McIntyre was in the business of creating headlines, and
we've called this for years. Tomorrow's headlines today. Are you ready?
We're doing AFC playoff teams.

Speaker 5 (21:41):
So we're gonna count down from seven to one.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Yes, seven seeds, seven seed down to one. Yes, tomorrows
headlines today. What's going to be the headline for the
number seven seed in the AFC?

Speaker 5 (21:55):
I'm just curious. Have you seen any of these?

Speaker 3 (21:57):
Are?

Speaker 1 (21:57):
No?

Speaker 6 (21:57):
No, no, you have it? Okay, excellent? So number seven
is a team you like a coach you're into the
headline will be Harball with Toad Bang.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
Da bang Diggy.

Speaker 6 (22:08):
Diggy said jump the Chargers a little kid rock, which
I butchered.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
And the staff is cracking up because anyways, uh, Colin.

Speaker 6 (22:15):
I said this week that Harball could be worth four
to five wins, and you said, oh, maybe more, folks.
They were zero to seven last year in games decided
by three or less.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Oh and seven.

Speaker 5 (22:25):
That's hard to do.

Speaker 6 (22:26):
So now all you need is can Harball get them
four and three in games decided by three or less
and all of a sudden, now you're a wildcard team.

Speaker 5 (22:33):
They were three and eight in one score games. Last year,
Listen Staley was bad.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
There's no way to what was the worst staff in
the league.

Speaker 6 (22:39):
And if you look at the injuries at wide receiver
that they had to Keenan, Allen, Mike Williams, I think
they were one of the most injured wide receiver rooms
in the league. Now they don't have the talent there,
but like you said, it's gonna be a run heavy offense.
We like the defense, and I think hardball's worth enough.
I think they sneak in as the seven seed narrowly
over Jacksonville.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
All Right, tomorrow's lines today. Now let's move down the
headline for the numbers six seed.

Speaker 6 (23:06):
This team was a bit of a letdown last year.
In January, they got a great quarterback and a coach.
So I still have them in the playoffs. But it's
not gonna be easy. The headline will be they not
like us. New running back not beefin with Windrick, Lamar,
Derrick Henry and.

Speaker 5 (23:22):
Lamar Jackson will be good. Colin. I looked at the schedule.

Speaker 6 (23:25):
They have the toughest September schedule in the NFL. They
do it is brutal early, So if there's a one
in three don't.

Speaker 5 (23:31):
Let's not panic.

Speaker 6 (23:32):
Remember there's some newness on defense and on offense. They
lost three starting offensive linemen. Yes, the Jet stole them,
like their down three offensive lineman and the defensive coordinator McDonald,
who was excellent.

Speaker 5 (23:43):
I mean that guy was phenomenalized.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
This is a well run, friend, John.

Speaker 5 (23:46):
Yeah, so I have.

Speaker 6 (23:47):
Them in the playoffs. I don't have them winning the division.
I don't think it's gonna be an easy one for them.
I'm just telling you that September schedule is going to
have some people concerned in Baltimore.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
I don't think you're wrong on that. I just I
just like everything about them now Lamarn Harboro wins front
office ownership. I've I've had people tell me they in
the league, tell me they think that's the best run franchise.
Tomorrow's headline today number five seed, which would be the
top wild card team.

Speaker 6 (24:16):
Yes, so I've been trying to write these guys off,
but once you really dig into the numbers of the talent,
you can't say they're not a playoff team.

Speaker 5 (24:22):
I haven't be in the wildcard.

Speaker 6 (24:23):
The headline will be Billy Wonka Buffalo finds the fifth
Golden ticket.

Speaker 5 (24:30):
Yes, Josh Allen.

Speaker 6 (24:31):
Despite losing Stefan Diggs, They're still a playoff team.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
I just turned back the clock to a year ago.

Speaker 6 (24:36):
This was a six and sixteam Colin heading into the
pivotal down the stretch of moments. They lost to my
Jets in the opener. They lost to the Broncos and
the Patriots, three of the worst teams in the league
last year. So those are some bad losses. They did
come on strong at the end. Obviously, Josh Allen is phenomenal.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
But a lot of newness too.

Speaker 6 (24:53):
Lost both their starting safeties moved on from them, moved
on from Stefan Digs and Gabe Davis, so there is
I think the offense is going to be heavy, two
tight end sets, a lot more running, a lot.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
Of Dalton Kinca, I agree.

Speaker 6 (25:04):
So they're gonna look different, yeah, less risky. As much
as I would love for them to miss the playoffs,
no disrespect to Buffalo, I'm a Jets fan. There's just
too much talent around Josh Allen. The last thing I'll
say is they have a really tough schedule. These are
their road games Miami obviously in the Division Ravens playoff

(25:25):
team Texans Rams and Lions.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
That's not an easy roads.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
Guess TWA and it's a playoff team.

Speaker 5 (25:32):
This is a playoff team. Probably ten wins?

Speaker 6 (25:34):
Does it?

Speaker 5 (25:34):
Fort ball?

Speaker 1 (25:34):
All right? To the first of our four division winners.
Tomorrow's headlines today four seed, number four seed in the AFC.

Speaker 6 (25:42):
Listen, these guys have a strong case to be the
one seed. The more you look at them, Holy cow,
this team's deadly. The headline will be giddy up, Up
and away. Stroud becomes unicorn in year two. Colin, this
is a championship roster. I mean, offensive Rookie the Year
in Stroud, Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson. I mean,

(26:03):
you look at some of the pickups. There's a strong
argument that they had the best offseason of anybody outside
of obviously Atlanta, getting a star quarterback and cousins. But
this is a Houston team. Man, I'm a little nervous
if I'm the Jets. They had an easy schedule last
year and it's a little tougher this year. They're favored
in their first six games. So if you like Houston
to maybe win the Super Bowl, bet them now, because

(26:25):
if they go six and oh and they very well go.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
It's a good call.

Speaker 6 (26:27):
They could start out six. Oh, Houston's the best team
in the league. The schedule gets tougher down the stretch,
but you know, hopefully no slump for CJ.

Speaker 5 (26:35):
Strouds as a sophomore slump. You know that's the thing.
The division's favorable Texans are damn good pretty quickly.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
All right, let's get into your top tier teams in
the AFC tomorrows headlines today. What's the headline for the
number three seed in the AFC.

Speaker 5 (26:54):
I know you're waiting for it. I know you are
the headline for number three.

Speaker 6 (26:58):
Well b from zero hieroglyphics Rogers translates losses to wins
hellotle Egyptian action for you there, Colin, there is a
championship defense.

Speaker 5 (27:09):
We know that. Do not smirk. I don't want to
hear it.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
Listen.

Speaker 5 (27:12):
Once they signed Hasan.

Speaker 6 (27:13):
Reddick, He's an upgrade over Bryce hoff By the way,
Bryce Hoft didn't play a ton last year, but was
effective when he did. Jets defense is elite, probably top
three in the league, you could argue maybe the best.
The question becomes ken Aaron Rodgers stay healthy and you
saw the offensive line move They do have new starting tackles.
Tyron Smith looking like a Hall of Famer in some
of these training camp videos. Playing great Mike Williams is

(27:36):
a good addition. I know he's a little older in
injury history, but Colin there, you can mock Woody Johnson
all you want. That's fine if you just look at
the roster and we're being, you know, a fair roster.
They have a great roster, the talent everywhere. I'm just
I look at the schedule. There's a world where they
should start, not could should start nine to three. The

(28:00):
final five games are tough, but I'm just telling you
their favorite. They're gonna get fat early.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
I'm gonna be.

Speaker 5 (28:04):
Feeling myself here on the show in September, in October.
I'm just telling you the Jets are winning the division.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Tomorrow's headlines today now it's the heavyweight fine, the number
two seed in the AF seed.

Speaker 6 (28:16):
So there's not many pickings left. There is one that
I omitted. We'll talk about them later, but number two,
you know they're good. The headline will be from trophy
girlfriend to trophy wife. KC gets formal entrance. Look at
that Taylor Swift making it Now, why are they only
the number two seed, Colin, I got questions about the

(28:37):
left tackle situation. There's a world where the left tackle
is uncertain all season. They don't have to go hunt
at the dead. Their weakness and losing Snead is big man.
That dude is a superstar cornerback play really.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
Effective and listen.

Speaker 6 (28:51):
I mean, I don't want to hammer Travis Kelsey, but
the guys the off season spent doing game shows, he's
doing podcasts, he's traveling the world, which is great be
a renaissance man. But he's also getting up there in
age and this he did look his age for much
of last season before a very solid postseason. I've got questions.
I have them as the number two seed. I do
not have them getting to the super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
And finally top seed in the AFC. Tomorrow's headlines today,
what said gonna be.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
They let me down? Last year? I had them as
the number one seed. I'm running it back.

Speaker 6 (29:26):
The headline will be Blondes have more fun. Burrow takes
some off the top seed. Yeah, look at Joey b there.
I think they're the best team in the AFC, led
by Joe Burrow, who is just phenomenal. Colin, they are
underdogs in only three games next season at Case, at Baltimore,
at Dallas. Last year they had the toughest schedule in

(29:48):
the league. Much easier this year. Offensive line looks good.
I know I bash them and call them the Bungles.
I take jabs at Glass Joe, but I am a
believer in Burrow and they are my pick as of
now to get the number one seed, and I think they're.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
Super Bowl bound.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
So I don't think you're wrong. If you said Burrow
plays every game, I think there's absolutely a shot to
win it all everything. My question is I bet the
averages and on average, you know he'll miss a game
or two or three or.

Speaker 5 (30:18):
Five, hopefully not five games come.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
On, but I think by and large. So let's review
again all your playoff teams. So you have the Chargers,
you had the Let's see, okay, here it is so
you had Bengals, Chiefs, Jets, Texans, Bill's Ravens, Chargers. I
go Bill's Chiefs, Ravens, Texans. Oh, I have the Bengals
and is a wild card Chargers Jags?

Speaker 6 (30:41):
So I have only difference are the Jags Jet?

Speaker 1 (30:44):
I have the Jags, you have the Jets.

Speaker 5 (30:45):
Yeah? Is that too much group think for you.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
No, But I think in the AFC, you've got more
star quarterbacks and I think we're You're taking Burrow mahomes
errand C. J. Stroud, Josh Allen Lamar and Justin her
Herbert And the only difference is I'm taking Trevor Lawrence
over Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
Nobody would fight you on that.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Yeah, I mean I think now in the NFC, I
think Atlanta is going to shock people. I think Atlanta's
I think Washington. I just think the NFC is more wide. Oh,
I mean San Francisco is really good. And Detroit those
two rosters are stacked and Goff never gets hurt. And
and Kyle Shanahan with McVeigh, with with with with Christian

(31:27):
McCaffrey wins.

Speaker 6 (31:28):
So in the AFC, we both have the Dolphins dropping
off a little bit.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
We've looked that more about For you, well, I think
it's Tua was totally healthy last year. I also think
O line isn't great. I just don't. I just a
team can be talented, and I don't trust him. And
that's Miami. It's like Miami's economy. It's a lot of sizzle,

(31:52):
not enough steak. So I just think I think Miami
could go six and oh and I wouldn't be shocked,
but I just kind of have a fee. Everything last
year kind of went well and nobody got and then
at the end they fell apart physically, if you remember,
the defense fell apart. I just don't trust him, and
and the truth is Burrows back, Trevor Lawrence is healthy,

(32:12):
Anthony Richardson healthy, Aaron Rodgers healthy. Herbert's got a coach,
so that's a rough sled. Well, see him Monday Live
in LA. It's the Herd.
