Speaker 1 (00:01):
The volume. You know you don't do the Bowl championship.
That should always be the expectation. All right, man, at
you go ahead. Welcome to the Richard Sherman Podcast, brought
to you by our friends and partners over at Brightling Mitchell.

(00:23):
I heard you got some new ice with that Honolulu
blue in it. Please show it off because I need
to get those. Man. I'm waiting for mine to come
in the mail with my Seattle Seahawks and my San
Francisco forty nine ers.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
But I know you love that, Richard, and you are
gonna be beyond fired up. For those of you guys
that don't know, Brightley has partnered with the NFL, they're
releasing one hundred team custom watches for each team. I
got mine in that Honolulu blue and silver to the
Detroit Lions, Richard. So thankful for these guys. I can't
wait to show this thing off on game day. Rich
I was at the game last night, Sunday night, having

(00:58):
the time of my life. This thing right here, guys,
this is a unique piece. You guys gotta go check
it out.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Our friends over at Brightling, Richard, I know we're pumped
to have them be partners of this show man, we
got we gotta get right into things here, though, rich
I know you're they're doing all right. I know you're
pumped up. After San Francisco lays down the hammer tonight
on Monday Night football going in, you know, hey, what
else could go wrong for this team this offseason? Brandon

(01:25):
I holds out, Trent Williams holds out, Then a game
time decision no go from Christian McCaffrey, and all of
a sudden, we see Jordan Mason starting Week one, Richard,
what's going through your mind as we're entering this game
and you see CMC is not playing.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
I'm very confident, Mitchell, very poised, understood what was going on.
This is a smart decision. This is a long term decision,
San Francisco fans, It's not a momentary knee jerk. Ah.
We gotta still playing. We need to get this win. Hey,
the staff knows we need to get this win, but
they're not petting. This is an incredibly talented team. This
is why they paid Deebo Samuels like a wide bag.

(02:05):
This is why they kept Jordan Mason. They have answers,
they have things that they feel comfortable with and to
allow Christian McCaffrey to rest. You want him for the
Super Bowl, not the first week of the season if
you can keep him. So that was a smart decision
by the staff, and what a freaking game by Jordan Mason's.

(02:26):
Something about just getting your opportunity and making the most
of it is really cool. People saying he looked like
Marshawn Lynch out there. My goodness. He does run with
a very heavy hat. He runs downhill, Mitchell. He was
punishing people all day and you can see as the
game went on, he's starting to wear the defense down.
Wear the defense down. People turning down hits, people turning

(02:47):
down tackles. Hey, sometimes they running into blocks like, hey,
keep me over here. I don't want what's over there.
That dude looked like he like the rints do He
running like the rent is due? Mitchell, And that was
freaking great for the San Francisco forty nine ers, great
for him. You could hear how happy and how proud
Kyle Shanahan was of just him getting his opportunity. They

(03:09):
knew what he could do, but he went out there
and showed the world in a primetime game what he's
capable of. That was really cool. The team was rallying
behind him. Also a really really solid game from Brock
Perdy nineteen to twenty nine for two thirty one, no touchdowns,
no interceptions. He did drop a dime to Brandon Ayyuk
unfortunately was unable to come down with it orls. That

(03:32):
would have been our play of the week Mitchell, because
he put it on it and unfortunately they didn't get
it done. They settled for a field goal. Juwan Jennings
also had a really really good game third and Juwan
is still live then well got paid and he's still
getting open. Deebo Samuels had a solid game. Carried it

(03:52):
eight times for twenty three yards, podcast fifty four yards
and a touchdown. Our guy end of the program Diama
Door lenor the Hyena he called his shot. He said,
I got something for a rod this Monday night. He
got targeted a couple times on a slot fade Gary Wilson.

(04:16):
Heck of a play by Gary Wilson, but they went
to the well too many times. He ran a Colorado
route which is like a slant corner our slanting back
out and Diama Door was all over it, covered it
really well, got his hand in there. I think he
should have went for the pick, but I'm not here
north there. It still ended up leading to a pick

(04:36):
by Demitrius Flanagan Fowls. Great play by him, it was
I mean, I liked everything about it. Nicholas John Bosa
put a lot of pressure on him at times, he
looked like he was out there in the wrestling match.
Tyron Smith is still one of the best tackles in
the National Football League, a big mammoth of a man,
and there were a couple of times where I thought

(04:58):
maybe there could be some some something thrown, but the
refs never do when there's Nicholas john Bows out there,
so they didn't. I don't think this was a slight
against the Jets, Mitchell, I really don't. I think the
Jets are still a really good team. I think Aaron
showed flashes of what he could be. Remember this is

(05:18):
his first game back in almost two years. I think
he showed flashes of exactly the dynamic, incredible arm talent
that we've seen for the last twenty years. And he's
gonna have an incredible connection with Garrett Wilson. Alan Lazard
was able to get two touchdowns in the game. Really
showed some flashes of the things that he was able
to do in Green Bay. I did not think he

(05:39):
was going to return to the Jets after the conversations
at the end of last year, but obviously Aaron Rodgers
had some conversations with the staffs says, hey, this is
my guy. I got him, and he showed a lot
of confidence in him. Today, Breeze Hall looked solid. But
the Jets are gonna be a good team. But you're
going against the San Francisco forty nine Ers, one of
the best teams in the National Football I told you, guys,

(06:01):
Aaron usually struggles against the San Francisco forty nine ers,
But shout out to my guy. Nick Sorenson, defensive coordinator
for the San Francisco forty nine Ers, his first game
calling the shots, called a really phenomenal game. They looked
incredibly sound against the run. Malike Collins looked like looked
like a guy early on, especially against the run. In

(06:23):
this game, Javon Hargrave had some flash plays that were
really exciting against the run. A few pressures, Leonard Floyd
got the sack. You know. He and Nick Posa put
a lot of pressure on the quarterback. And then in
a secondary I mean, you didn't hear Tarvarius Ward's name
called very often because Starvari's Ward was out there strapping.

(06:44):
Oh did I forget Poony Poony at guard at right
guard for the San Francisco forty nine ers. Looks like
they got one. It looks like they got one, Thank goodness,
because San Francisco fans have night about what the guard
did on the final play or one of the final

(07:05):
plays in the Super Bowl in overtime where it could
have been a touchdown and they just let Chris Jones
run unblocked to the quarterback, Chris Jones Mitchell, I'm not
an offensive lineman. I didn't know the scheme. I didn't
know what the slides were. But I'm gonna tell you
one thing I'm not gonna do. I'm not gonna let

(07:26):
Chris Jones run Scott free. And it doesn't look like
Dominick Pooney is going to be a guy that lets
Chris Jones run Scott free. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed,
but he looks like a guy who the San Francisco
forty nine Ers fans have to feel good about this
game and how it went. It wasn't as close as
the final score says. They look like a dominant team.

(07:48):
I look forward to seeing how they look next week.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
TD Tuddy taking it to the house in for six.
Whatever you want to call a touchdown, one thing's for sure.
Touchdown matter more at DraftKings Sportsbook and official sports betting

from special teams or defense, we don't care how they
score them. We just want to bet on touchdowns, and

Only on DraftKings. The crown is yours, Richard. I was

(08:59):
just letting you go, my and I know you're excited
about this one, and rightfully so I'll be honest with you, man.
When CMC was ruled out, I thought the Jets were
going to take this game. And you playing for such
so many high level teams, especially in your legion of
boom days in Seattle and then the latter part with
San Francisco, you know the importance when you're competing for
that number one seed in home field advantage, getting every

(09:22):
win matters and taking a loss week one is just
not acceptable when you're when you're competing against the likes
of the Cowboys, the Lions, you know, et cetera, for
that number one seed. This is a huge win for
the forty nine ers. Let's not undersell this. And going
back to CMC, I mean we saw it last year

(09:43):
in LA. I mean, cam Akers goes out in the preseason,
Kyron Williams comes out of nowhere and just takes over
that backfield and has become, you know, a bona fide
superstar in this league. Now it looks like the forty
nine ers have somebody in Jordan Mason. We saw flashes
last year with them, but now that he's got the
opportunity to take this job by storm, this number one

(10:05):
RB roll this week in a highly competitive game against
a great defense. Richard, they got a one two combo.
Now now you can spell CMC a little bit. The
weight of the world is not on CMC anymore. If
you need a drive from Jordan Mason, there's not going
to be that falloff. And like you said, he is
that hammer. He is the Detroit Lions, David Montgomery. You

(10:25):
need somebody like that that's going to come in late
in games and give your team a drive or two.
And that's what you got in Jordan Mason. Richard. This
is a one football for the San Francisco forty nine
ers right out the gates. This fan basis team should
be very, very happy as a Detroit Lion fan hoping
for a little bit of falloff in the Niners. Richard.

(10:48):
They're legit and not make no mistake about it.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
It was funny to me because this game felt like
practice to me because all the days in training camp
of Kyle Shanahan versus Robert Sala, the adjustments, the arguments,
the frustration you could tell it meant just a little
bit more to Kyle today and that he was having
a little bit more fun than he usually has because
he's going against one of his good friends, one of

(11:14):
his one of his colleagues, a guy he has a
tremendous amount of respect for and obviously a guy ripping
Brackling and Robert Salah. He's a guy that does a
great job defensively. But when we were in training camp,
Kyle would draw up some nonsense, Mitchell, some just beaters
for our plays, like, hey, these are the answers. Of course,

(11:34):
if you know the coverage we're in and you draw
up the perfect play. Kyle would draw up some plays
where you're like, Kyle, that just like, what do you expect?
That breaks every one of our rules on defense? And
of course he's wide open. I mean, what do you
expect we got to break the rules to cover him
or I bastardize the defense and cover him, and Kyle
be mad, be like, do your job on the play.
I'm doing my job. He's not supposed to be open.

(11:54):
You know you want him to be open because you
want me to. No, I no, take the check down.
Take the checkdown. Now you're not getting with that, and
I know there was some games been shipped between he
and Robert Sala. Obviously Brick is the decoordinator for the
Jets and not Robert Sala called in the plays, but
you know, philosophically, he was having impact on those play calls,

(12:14):
and I'm sure it was. It was a great conversation
after the game. Obviously, Salah's not happy they got the loss.
They go to Tennessee next week to play Will Levis
and the Tennessee Titans. I really feel good. I feel
like that's a good, good game for them. I feel
like that's a chance for Aaron. They will get a
lot of man coverage from the Tennessee Titans. That's a
game Aaron Rodgers and Gary Wilson can really have their

(12:37):
coming out party you don't want to have. It's tough
to have a coming out party versus one of the
best teams in the National Football League. You know, you
you you. If they would have started with Tennessee Titans,
I'm sure their fans would feel a lot better about
how this game went and about how their team looks.
I think Aaron Rodgers is going to have an incredible season.
I just know for a fact, how he plays against

(12:58):
San Francisco forty nine ers and he does not play well.
This is not going to be an indicator of how
he's gonna play all season. Jets fans, he will be fine.
This defense will be fine. Sauce Gardner and DJ Reid
will be fine. I think the secondary will be fine.
I think the linebackers. I think everybody's gonna be be fine.
It's just a really tough opponent. And the San Francisco

(13:19):
forty nine is going to Minnesota, where they have not
had a ton of success even last year. Remember the
all out blitz late in the second half that led
to a huge play for the Minnesota Vikings which led
to them winning that game. And it's Sam Donald. Sam
Donald getting this chance, to getting Skyle Shanahan, a guy

(13:40):
who gave him opportunity, kind of helped resurrect his career
a little bit. And he had a really good, good game,
a really impressive game last week against the New York Giants,
and I look for him to have a really solid game.
Kevin O'Connell has been drawing it up like nobody's business. Obviously,
they have one of the best receivers in the League
and Justin Jefferson, so they're gonna have to do everything

(14:01):
they can to stop him. But this isn't a mobile quarterback.
This isn't a guy who's gonna be all over the place.
So Nicholas John Bosa and Leonard Floyd in this defensive
line will get a chance to pin their ears back
a little bit more next week and see if they
can get some shots out the quarterback. And let's see
if this offensive line can open up the gaps and
open up the holes like they did this week. Maybe

(14:22):
Christian McCaffrey goes. But I got a sense that if
he's sitting out this get weak, then maybe they give
him two weeks to just really make sure we put
this to bed so that he's healthy and feeling good
and this isn't a nagging, reoccurring thing going forward. So
that's how I'm feeling about that. But Mitchell, I know,
I know you want to talk about your boys. Mitchell.

(14:45):
I know that's why you're quiet, because you got so
much to say about those Hana Lulu Blue wearing Detroit Lions.
Because it was rocking out there at Ford Field. Mitchell,
tell me about it.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Richard, I was there tired up as could be. And
I tell you what, you go into that stadium Sunday
night football a lot of fun, right, I mean, the
cities lively. We saw it with the draft. Detroit knows
how to show up. That stadium was a buzz, Richard,
from the moment you get in there an hour before
the game. And let's not forget the story here. Jared Goff,

(15:18):
the cast off from the La Rams sent to Detroit,
the low lead Detroit Lions for Matthew Stafford. And this
is Matthew Stafford's second homecoming, if you will. And he
was met with some cheers, rich I mean the fans
gave him some love as he ran out. But as
soon as that game started, it was just like the playoffs.
And Richard, you look at this team. They battled all game.

(15:40):
It wasn't pretty. You know, I think the Lions probably
played C plus football on the day. They had their mistakes,
you know, golf through an interception, the defense had a
couple breakdowns. They gave up a seventeen to three lead.
But what showed me about this team is when I
thought they were down and out, they came back. And
there's a there's a stigma here in Detroit called the

(16:03):
same old Lions. The same old Lions would always find
a way to lose a game they should have won. Well,
this is a brand new Lions, and this is what
we've been talking about since last year. This team is
now finding ways to win a game they should have
otherwise lost. I mean the Richard, they were down and out,
let's face reality, and all of a sudden they got
a three and out from Matthew Stafford. They went down

(16:24):
the field, they got a rookie kicker and Jake Bates
that delivers a clutch kick, albeit short, still clutch kick
for him, and then they go and pound the rock
seven consecutive plays. I think they had one passing play
on that overtime possession. Richard. That is when a team
shows you, hey, this is our strength. Our old Lions

(16:44):
number one in football, and we got an absolute workhorse
behind them in David Montgomery. We're just going to give
you the football and show you that our team is
stronger than yours. And Richard, that's what they did. I'm
really excited to hear your thoughts on the Lions, because
while it wasn't a pretty win, it was a gritty
win and that's the way Detroit plays football.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Mitchell. It was a gritty win. It seemed like it
was almost symbolic of the city of Detroit. Hey, people
think a certain way of you. You got beat up
a little bit early, got you know, down and out.
But the Detroit City, Mitchell, the music city Mitchell, They're
gonna make it happen, and they did. This is a

(17:25):
beautiful team, They have a beautiful culture. You got the
young guys, homegrown talent that are making it happen. Aiden
Hutchinson with a sack, four quarterback hits. Brian Branch who's
the second year player, had three pass defenses. That secondary
looked much better, even though Matthew Stafford had three hundred
and seventeen yards. He's a big yardigt quarterback. He's gonna

(17:47):
he's gonna get his charge no matter what. But Jamison Williams,
who you call Mitchell, You called that Jamison Williams. They
have a lot of belief in this kid, and you
keep hearing all his praises, always gonna do this, He's
gonna do this. He's doing it. Five catches, one hundred
and twenty one yards in a touchdown. He looked incredible.
Out there, and then you get to the last drive. Hey, overtime,

(18:12):
we're taking the ball. We're gonna march it down really
old school style, right behind our right side of our
old line. You know, we'll get something to the left,
but right behind Pinay Soul and that right side of
the old line. We paid him. This is our guy.
We believe in him, and we're gonna trust him. And
David Montgomery continue to just punish the defense, punish the defense,

(18:34):
punishing run after punishing run. They gave him a slight
break in there to get Jamiir Gibbs a touch, but
at the end of the day, he wasn't coming up
very often. He wanted this drive on his shoulders and
he took it, and he let this team down. It
looked like such a confident and strong That's why they're contenders, Mitchell.
That's why they deserve the respect. Because they walked the

(18:55):
ball down versus a very competitive RAMS team, a RAMS
team that was in the play playing this team last year.
So this isn't just some slapsh of a team. This
team is a team that expects to compete again for
playoff contention, and they really just said, hey, we're gonna
impose our wheel and let you guys know, you're at
our stadium, in our house, and we're not having it.

(19:16):
We're walking away with a dub. Get back on your plane,
go back to La, see La, and.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
See you later. Matthew Stafford. As much as we love
you here in Detroit, it's got to feel pretty rough
knowing that you've lost twice to your former team in
the last what six months, Richard, seven months? I mean,
that's demoralizing, right, Richard. What I get fired of about
the Lions is their offense was supposed to be spectacular.
You add another piece in Jamison Williams, you get the

(19:47):
development of Sam Laporter, you get the maturity of Jamior Gibbs.
Then you just keep this molding and meshing of this
offensive line. I didn't see so many offensive linemen jerseys
in the crowd, rich I mean, there was like a
pina every fifth jersey I saw. It's insane how much
the city loves this old line. But what they need
to help with is what you pointed out, the secondary,

(20:08):
and they also just needed to add a little bit
more depth on that D line. They went out this
offseason and they've got DJ Reader who did not play.
But one of the biggest names that I think a
lot of folks should be aware of coming out is
number ninety one Levi Awuzerique, the defensive tackle out of
you dub Richard. He's been injured for three years and
he came back, and Dan Campbell says, this guy is

(20:30):
going to be a bona fide star here this year. Richard.
He had a sack against Matthew Stafford. If the Detroit
Lions can add DJ Reider in another piece on that
d line, I mean, now, all of a sudden, we
got a defense that could be again what I called
top ten in this league. Richard, I'm excited. I think
this team can go on a run right away. I

(20:50):
know you like the Buccaneers and they are a tough team,
but I just love the Lions at home next week.
I can't see a situation that they lose that game.
Vegas has got him as a touchdown favorite already. Richard,
taking a week one dub feels like a hell of
a lot better than taking an out.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
I will leave you with that, no question, no question.
And this is without a great game from your star receiver.
A'man Ross State Brown. Not because he wasn't great, but
because it was Jamis's Williams' day and now people are
gonna have to game plan for Jamison Williams. They're game
planning for Ahm and Roh, doing everything they can stop
to do to stop Alman Ross Saint Brown in the

(21:29):
tight end. But you're not accounting for Jamison Williams. Now
you're gonna look at the film and say, man, we
got to make sure we know where number nine is
at all times, and that's gonna open things up for
aman Ross Saint Brown to have more success. But I
guarantee you, Mitchell, I know you feel very confident about
this game against Tampa. But they looked really good. Baker

(21:50):
looks like he found his home. That Todd Bowles defense
is very hectic. They create a lot of chaos. Leamonte
David looked like he had a really good game. Joe Tryon,
Shinka had a really good game. They're putting a lot
of pressure on quarterbacks. They're doing a lot of great
things defensively. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, those guys are putting
on a show as they always have. But you're right.

(22:11):
Your Honolulu Blue Boys looked like a dominant force. It
looked like they can win these games and whatever way
they need to. It can be a big, high scoring,
pretty game. It can be an ugly, grind it out,
gritty game. It can be a defensive matchup. It could
be a shootout. Whatever they want to do. It seems
like they're gonna have to do it in the Honolulu
Blue If they want to get a Mitchell, I'm gonna

(22:33):
make a rhyme out of that. At some point. You
need that.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
I need that before you come to Detroit for that
Green Bay Packers Thursday night football game. I'm gonna need
a wrap on this. Richard. Speaking of Thursday night football,
I know you gotta be fired up. This is your guys,
first Thursday night football game of the year with the Amazon. Richard,
give me how excited? I know you gotta be pumped, man.
I know this is something like what goes through your

(22:55):
mind pregame when you're about to go on the field
on set. Are you you studying? Are you jacking yourself up?
Are you listening to music? Tell me about it? Well, well, mental,
it's exciting.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
At the first game we ever did for Thursday night football,
it was it was it was surreal for me. I
think it was Kansas City versus the Chargers in Kansas City,
and I found myself in my room like going through
my game day routine, headphones in, got my game day
playlist going, and I can feel my body like turning
on and my mind turning into what like going into
the place it needs to go to. Then I was like, wait,

(23:27):
you're not playing if you don't sit your behind down,
Like if you don't turn this off and put your
suit on, you're not putting pads on today. You gotta
talk the game. And so it just took a second
to adjust my mentality because you go into these games
so hyped, so excited. It feels good getting into the atmosphere,
smell the grass, you hear the crowd, you see the

(23:48):
referees that you've been dealing with for ten eleven years,
you see the players getting to interact with them, and
it just feels like football. And you hear that national
anthem and then it's like chills up your spine and
then your body turns to something and then you gotta
turn it off. And then you gotta say, you're not playing,
turn off. Not you talking, they're talking to him. They're going,

(24:10):
but I'm super excited for this one. This is a
fantastic divisional matchup. Both teams won last week in different ways.
Buffalo has dominated this series, winning eleven out of twelve.
But I think the Dolphins have a great shot this week. Obviously,
they had all the turmoil and adversity before the game
last week with Tyreek hel Kalais Campbell, Jonu all dealing with.

(24:34):
I mean, we all saw the body cam footage, some
issues with the Dade County Police Department. But this week
it's gonna it's gonna be hopefully locked in a short
week for both teams in Miami. The weather is gonna
be great, it's gonna be hot. I'm gonna have a
Lennon suito on Mitchell. I think Josh Allen is gonna
go out there and want to put on a show,

(24:54):
but I think he gets out played by your guy
Tua Tongua Vailoa. Kill Jalen Waddle. I hope our guy
Raheem Moster can can have some success. Jalen Ramsey seems motivated.
He's on Twitter. He know he didn't have the best
game last week. He's gonna come in trying to make
a statement, trying to make a play on Prime Time
is showing everybody he's still there. He's still a guy.

(25:17):
Uh But Buffalo Buffalo has a bunch of young guys.
Kean Coleman. Is he gonna make a statement? Is he
gonna have a big game? Who's gonna be the guy
that steps up and separates for the Buffalo Bills? And
that's what I'm excited to see. We all know the
superstars that the Miami Dolphins have, But now that Stefan
Diggs is going, now that Gabe Davis is going, who's

(25:39):
gonna be the go to guy consistently for the Buffalo Bills.
That's what we're waiting to find out. And we're gonna
get another chance to get a peek at that, Mitchell,
if you want Thursday night, seven pm Eastern on Prime
Video downloaded, I don't think I know anybody without Prime
without Amazon right now. So if you look before our

(26:00):
game is you're looking for the coolest, funnest Thursday night
show on television, then check us out.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Richard, I definitely check you out. That's this week's T
and F preview, presented by Prime Video. Be sure to
watch the Bills take on the Dolphins this Thursday with
Richard wearing his linen suit and something tells me you're
gonna be rocking the brightening to Richard, I better see that.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
Question, no question, I better see that if you just
see me do random yawns? Old Mitchell, it's because I'm
feeling myself. My boys got me right.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
But you know one thing when you're when you're in
town for the Detroit Lions Thursday night game, I'll let
you wear this and that is that's what I allow
you to wear this Honolulu blue and silver one. Here,
rich I like, we gotta talk. We gotta talk a
little bit more in depth here because this is my
favorite part of the show every week because I get
to hear you position the Detroit Lions somewhere into your
Richard Sherman power ranks. Richard, we gotta talk about it

(26:57):
now that week one is concluded. Do you have an
I did? Do you have a sense of your top
five in this this week's ranks?

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Mitchell, I gotta, I got an inkling. I gotta because
sometimes you get a little hot Johns, you get a
little Bob Mitchell. Sometimes you get a little hot and
bother Mitchell. This this week was a lot of heat
in the kitchen for my power rankings, but still staying
at number one. Kansas City Chiefs, They're still nothing. Let

(27:24):
nothing led me to believe they're not the best team
in football except the San Francisco forty nine ers. They're close.
If I could do one A one B Mitchell, I would,
But we're gonna We're gonna go one, two, three. I'm
gonna give your boys three, Mitchell. I'm gonna leave your

(27:46):
Honolulu Blue Detroit Lions. They're gonna be three.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Okay, I love it.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
I had a lot of confidence in the Houston Texans.
I wanted to put them in there. I didn't feel
great about their showing. I felt like, you know, I
felt like c. J. Stroud was a little bit hesitant
through through a few passes, a little a little more
errant than I'm used to. Is much better with, you know,
keeping the football safe. There are a few passes that

(28:12):
I thought should have been picked that weren't. But they
still came out and went won the game. That defense
played well. But but they're going to drop a little
bit for me. I'm going to keep the Baltimore Ravens
in there at four. No. No, no, no, I'm gonna keep
them at five. I'm gonna keep them at five. That

(28:34):
fourth spot, make sure that fourth spot. I have to
give me a second, have to give me a second.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
I think I know where you're going, and I think
it's probably gonna end up hurting you because I don't
think you really want to do it truly. Rich. Do
you like the Dallas Cowboys?

Speaker 1 (28:52):
No, I don't, Mitchell, Mitchell, but they played so well,
they played well.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
I know you're inevitably going to have to settle somewhere
around them.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Rich, they played so well, they played so well, and
that that I have a lot of respect for what
that Cleveland Browns defense that did last year, and the
players and the talent that they have, Miles Garrett, the
cornerbacks that they have, Ward and Mitchell, the Dallas, the Seattle.

(29:32):
Because I don't want to push Baltimore. I might push
Baltimore out. Do I push Baltimore out? Miami had a
dogfight of a game. I put them in it. That's
a dogfight they were in it. I'm not sure. I'm
not really sold on Jacksonville's defense. I don't know if
that should have been as hard as it was. Ah,

(29:56):
I know Saints fans are like put us in look
not for for what you did against Carolina guys, not
not quite yet. Wait a minute, hold on, you're on
Third Street, you know. Let's see it against somebody else. Hmm.

(30:21):
I can't be all NFC, Mitchell, I can't. I can't
just go all NFC because it would just be one AFC.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
At you got the chief rich, I know, but.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
The rest would be NFCU.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Obvious one man. The New England Patriots huge showing against
the Bengals, you know, I mean you can slide them in.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
There, Mitchell. I. Nothing about my nothing in my person
or soul wants to put them anywhere near my top
five Right now, Mitchell, they have a lot to show
me before. I'm not saying they stunk offensively, but it
didn't smell great either side. So sincin Now we gotta
have a real uncomfortable conversation if they score ten points again, Mitchell,

(31:04):
I have a really uncomfortable conversation where people are gonna
be sitting there calling me a hater. We're probably gonna
go viral we start that conversation. But that's we need
to see more. You know, we're gonna give him a break.
Everybody has a has a snaffoo and a rough game,
all right, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco forty nine Ers,

(31:28):
Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
It was tough. I can live with it. I knew
you were gonna settle up there. We could have saved
like a good two three minutes of deliberation there, Richard.
I told you it was gonna hurt your soul, and
it probably did. But we got a conclusion. The Chiefs,
the San Francisco forty nine Ers, my hometown, Detroit Lions,

(32:05):
the Dallas Cowboys, and the Baltimore Ravens. Richard, that's a
Week one Power Ranks, Sir. We've been hard at it.
I know you've been really hard at it. We've given you,
guys three podcasts this week. Look forward to bring you
more and more. I know rich you're fired up for this.
I will allow you to sign us off as we
conclude Week one.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
Well, before we sign off, I want to make sure
I give some much deserved love to Jake Moody, who
went six for six for the San Francisco forty nine Ers,
the second year kicker out of Michigan had a heck
of a day and if we had a player of
the Game, it would likely have to be him. He
had an incredible day, a big reason why the San
Francisco forty nine ers won this game. He was accurate

(32:46):
and they weren't just chip shots. There were a couple
fifty yarders in there. He nailed them through, even hit
the crossbar, just just to keep things interesting. And I
know that San Francisco fans and Kyle Shanahan John Lynch
have to feel great about his performance. Such a young
kid played so well tonight deserves a ton of credit.
But I appreciate you guys joining me. Thank you everybody

(33:08):
who's hit that's up button. Thank you everybody who's supported
this podcast. We're trying to give you more content, trying
to be there. Make sure we put out more videos,
more information, more knowledge, more love, and get you out
of here as quickly as we can. You know, I
talk a little bit, but thank you for joining us again.
